All of Kakashi's friends have one thing in common: they do not give a fuck about their reputation. They do not care what you think of them. Kakashi and Gai are as eccentric as they come and most of what you say to them is going to just slide right off and Kurenai and Asuma will just straight up shrug you off for questioning their feelings, motives etc [see: them ignoring Iruka's prodding at chuunin exams]

So it's like. Oh you're afraid of "Friend Killer" Kakashi? You think he's weird and violent and he gives you the creeps? Huh. Maybe you're the weirdo here because I saw him crying over "Ninja Love 3: Magistrate's Revenge" about 10 times just last night in the cinema. Do you know he uses the baby voice on his dogs? He yelled at me for 3 hours once for not eating enough. He gives great massages after a work out. Etc etc

You know how in the Chunning Exams arc Naruto and Sakura deepened their existing bonds with certain people and even create new bonds with new characters? While Sasuke slowly but violently drifted away from their circle of influence, going towards what Orochimaru offered?

The Chunning Exams allowed Naruto to confront Neji and his ideals, allowed him to start or further the depth of his bond with Hinata, to create the connection Gaara and him shared, something that would last for life. We have those moments with Shikamaru and Rock Lee, stuff that cemented his place on Konoha, showed us Naruto acting not in a team of three but in a wider range. The first step to become Hokage, not doubt.

It also gave us important moments for Sakura. We got her relationship with Rock Lee, something that started as a joke and turned into to mutual respect and appreciation. We got a development and explanation of her rivalry and friendship with Ino, we got to see Team Asuma reacting to her fight against the Sound and the jounins reacting to her fight with Ino. We got to see moments that meant a lot for her in Team 7 and showed us how much she meant for Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi.

But Sasuke? Every possible rivalry or connection was given to Naruro or pushed aside. Sasuke was one of the first to challenge Rock Lee and Gaara, but the Rock Lee fight was taken by Gaara and the Gaara fight was taken by Naruto, later on the invasion. Since he was away from the other fights due the cursed mark or his training with Kakashi, he didn't get to see Neji or anyone else fighting. We never saw the Sound ninjas again, which left us with Sasuke only having bonding moments with his team— even those were negative if you think about how Sasuke must have seen most of them as failures. Exactly like Orochimaru had told him, he was not strong enough to either protect his team or defeat the enemy, but Naruto was.

Sakura and Naruto were really the only two who could have kept Sasuke from leaving or brought him back, because to Sasuke's eyes Kakashi had failed to offer Sasuke the power he craves for.

Sasuke didn't get the chance to develop any kind of relationship with anyone else, foreigner or from the Konoha 12. So inevitably when his relationship with Naruto decayed (for many reason like Itachi chasing Naruto and not Sasuke, or Naruto being the one who saved Sakura and defeated Gaara), and when he started seing Sakura as a weak point (in the sense that he realized that listening to her wouldn't give him any type of physical strength), it was obvious they'd fail to give Sasuke a reason to stay with them.

(I would die for this fic. I know the summary sounds doom and gloom but IT'S NOT. This fic made me fucking cry, I don't think I've ever read a fic that characterized Naruto so right. He's so full of hope and love and develops into the best version of himself and I'm so HERE FOR IT. And it's not just Naruto, Shikamaru is absolutely amazing here along with Kakashi and surprise surprise Ino, I can't BELIEVE it took me this long to stumble across this fic. Also THE WORLDBUILDING IS TO DIE FOR!!! And the plot! Is! So! Interesting! Just, everything about this fic is just amazing so please PLEASE read this!!!)

(Same author as the one above, they are the gift that keeps on giving. Seriously, HOW did I NEVER FIND THESE FICS before now??? One of life's greatest mysteries. The author's sense of humor is so on point here along with the atmospheric writing that's so vivid in the mind. Their writing style is so recognizable to me now and makes me fall into the world they're creating, it's stunning. Sasuke here makes me want to hug him and the idea of him living like a feral ghibli character has me LIVING. Check the tags of the fic, all of it is true, hand to god. Please give all of the author's fics a shot, it's a rabbit hole I'm thankful I fell into!)

(It's so hard to find self-insert fics with a fresh concept these days, especially in the naruto fandom. Not that I don't enjoy and devour a lot of self insert fics like it's going out of style, but it's just so nice to find something new and shiny and really damn good. I'm so pumped for this fic and how it's going to develop so please join me in rooting for this fic!)

Kakashi can think of no reason for Sasuke's inexplicable and drastic change in behavior. He doesn't like the desperate, haunted gleam in his student's eyes, and he also doesn't like the nagging feeling that he's missing something very important. Aka: Future Sasuke goes to Past Sasuke and gives him a reality check with Specific Intentions, but as with most Uchiha, his methods leave much to be desired. (Featuring: Childhood trauma FTW, Konoha's shitty care of orphans, and absolutely no one having a fun time.)

(Sasuke wanting to change the future out of complete and utter spite has me LIVING. Sasuke is such a Mess here and the twist on the time travel premise is so good and the kid is so Traumatized and Desperate and Not Having A Good Time. Naruto and Sakura developing as better ninjas and Kakashi trying his best makes me want to scream. Also, how Sasuke thinks about Itachi makes me want to cackle. I am 100% down for this. I am rooting for this kid, go get them! XD)

Alternatively Ron Weasley, Time Traveller Extraordinaire, is stuck in the same seven year Hogwarts Loop, repeating the same thing over and over again. Naturally, he's so done with everything.

(This is the greatest hp fic I've ever read. I LOVE RON WEASLEY and by the time you read this fic SO WILL YOU!! This is the fic I WISH I have the ability to write. I read this entire fic aloud to my brother and we spent literal hours howling and talking about how utterly insane and incredible this fic is, it's amazing. This is hands down my favorite Ron Weasley. You Can Pry This Fic From My Cold Dead Fingers.)

Cleaning Crew; Teaching Kids to Value their Safety, for Fun and Profit by Reavv

Takenaka Hideo is a thirty-two year old, in mild desperation for money, who has just been hired as a new janitor for UA's support staff. He has a quirk that lets him find lost objects, a liaison with the police because of it, and desperate desire for competent co-workers.

Oh, and he's already lived a previous life, in a world where quirks and heroes didn't even exist.

Not a big deal, though. It's not like you ever see the janitor playing a big part in action movies. He's here to get paid, and that's it.

On the opposite side of the equation, class 1-A has to wonder at the new UA cryptid that always seems to show up when things are on fire, and who keeps trying to convince them to let the adults handle the fire extinguisher.

(A great deal of fun packed into one fic. That is how I title this fic and nothing will change my mind! Hideo just wants to quietly do his job and not get in the way. I Relate. Please read!)

(I don't know how I got so sucked into OC fics, but I found some fantastic fics along the way so I have no regrets. The author really tries to push the premise and I just love all the interactions and dynamics that form as the fic gets further in. And the OC character and all the hijinks they get up to cracks me up! At the same time, it's pretty heartwarming and it's practically a friendships galore fic! Definitely recommend it!)

If he believed in such things Katsuki would say it was written in the stars. That some god of war had looked at him and said this one. That he’d been passed along a line to get his blessings – genius, willpower, fearless ambition – and dropped off on earth.

Then, of course, there is the question of Deku. The spitfire runt. Deku, no matter what the world does to him, never stops hoping.

Until, of course, he eventually does.

(Katsuki broke him. Snapped him in half like a twig and now has to scramble to put Deku back together. “We can do this, Deku," he says slowly. "There are so many mysteries that never got put to bed. Criminals roaming around looking to hurt people and you and me, we can fix that.”

There’s a long pause. The comforter slips a little off Deku’s skinny shoulders and drowns him. “You mean like a team?”

In that split second, Katsuki makes a decision he’s never even considered. He swallows his pride. “Yeah, Deku. We’d be a team.”)

(If there was any other way canon could've gone, this is the story I would've wanted. It's perfect.)

(This fic is so soft and Steve is just collecting people and winning them over with his magical food (literally). I am always a sucker for heartwarming, good for the soul fics so if you want to make yourself hungry and feel all warm and gooey inside, read this!)

Is this hell then? Or perhaps purgatory? It certainly isn’t heaven, that’s for sure. None of this makes any sense…but then what's new—nothing in Billy’s life makes sense anymore.

Billy laughs then, loud and long and unhinged. It's the only sound in the whole house, and it bounces off the walls like a fucked up echo, like the world is laughing with him.

“Jesus christ you’re insane…” It’s Max’s voice and it’s shaking. It only makes Billy laugh harder, because Max has it all wrong. Billy isn’t crazy, it’s the rest of the world that’s insane.

Billy dies a hero of sorts. He wakes up back in his bed on Saturday morning, the third of November, 1984...nearly nine months earlier.

(Billy is stuck in a time loop and it's slowly driving him crazy. And the fic shows just how much influence Billy did have in the plot and how doomed the world is without him in it. Great character exploration with Billy's character and all the ways he's so messy and human. Definitely recommend it!)

A Natsu-centric story featuring: Shiratorizawa VBC shenanigans, too many soccer OCs, mild teenage drama, a little bit of plot, and Semi Eita not knowing what a period is.

(It's just!! So cute and wholesome!!! The Shiratorizawa volleyball team is so fleshed out along with the OC characters for the girl's soccer team and I swear, it's been a long while since I've laughed this much at the sheer shenanigans that happen in a fic. It's surprisingly hard to find good gen fics in this fandom so finding this gem made me so happy! If you want a fic that brings a smile to your face, read this!!)

(The fact this fic is canon-compliant and covers post-canon too makes me want to shout to the heavens. Fucking incredible! One of the best Oikakage fics ever and it's a crime how it's not at the top of the ship tag. Please please read!!)

(Anybody who hasn't read this series, where the hell have you been?? Read it!!) Just, everything about this fic hurts me and something in my chest just aches when I read this fic. (The reincarnation fic I never thought I needed and it's so good!! I've never really paid attention to Tokoyami and this fic sent me headfirst into loving him. Their dynamic is so interesting and I just love how their relationship develops. Also, Kakashi trolling the poor kid made me cackle, it's great! Definitely recommend it!)

Bakugou trying his best to be a good friend is one of the best things about this fic. Trust me, this fic will make your day, promise!)

(I binged this in two fucking days, I couldn't put it down. This fic reminded me why I liked fairy tail when I was younger and why Natsu is honestly such a great protagonist, god. And the fic does that thing, you know, the Thing where when two worlds collide, the characters struggle to acclimate and adapt to a completely another world with different rules and mindsets against their own. This fic is seriously one of the best when it comes to that aspect, it's incredible. I am going absolutely feral over here for this fic to update, I'm waiting in the wings, ready to pounce like a tiger, all the metaphors man. For the love of god, read this fic.)

(Before this fic, I only had a very vague idea of what Natsume's Book of Friends was, and honestly, I still don't know much about it. But I didn't really need to know to get into this fic. I love the worldbuilding and the relationships Kakashi forms, both supernatural and mortal. I love how Kakashi's inhumane ways affect others around him, whether to stress them out or become used to the strange. You can go straight into this fic without knowing anything and absolutely still have a fantastic time. I definitely recommend this so please read!)

moments from the village

pairing: yamato x reader

a/n: hmm, kind of free form... like it’s a reader insert but there’s bits filled in that are just generic to the idea of a character. Also the first thing I’ve written in like a thousand years.. 

synopsis: a few tender moments, scenes from your relationship with Yamato

warnings: nsfw content for the last few: general sex, fingering, oral, rough sex.

1. Yamato drinks genmaicha tea almost exclusively. The first thing he does when he comes home is make a steaming pot, and sit the well-worn armchair that occupies the corner of your living room and sips it slowly. He loves the nutty taste of toasted rice against the grassy earthy taste of the green tea. When it’s hot, you make him genmaicha lattes. Over brewing the tea and mixing it with brown rice syrup to sweeten it. You serve the drink over ice.

2. Yamato’s favourite desert is matcha cake. You roll a thin, rectangle of bright green sponge cake with lashings of sweetened whipped cream in the middle, slicing thick chunks and topping them with the first of the season’s strawberries. You meet him at the banks of the Naka river with the slices stored safely in a bag. You both kick of your shinobi sandals, tossing them behind you and dipping your toes into the cold water. You can’t think of anything more Yamato than the mixture of earthiness and sweetness.

3. For Yamato days off are reserved for reading architecture books. Yamato pours over each book in his collection, absorbing all the knowledge he can. His current obsession is shoin-zukuri. For his birthday, you buy him an expensive architecture model kit. He painstakingly completes it, gluing the delicate wooden pieces together over the next few nights. The model of the local temple lives on your shelving unit in the living room, sitting proudly next to the string-of-pearls you’d purchased from the Yamanaka’s flower store the day you moved in.

4. You always thought you disliked Kakashi Hatake. You’d never really spent much time with him, never been on missions together, and didn’t really understand who thought it was a good idea to place him in charge of a team of rookies. The dislike deepened once you and Yamato began dating; the constant stories of his teasing and cajoling your boyfriend bothered you. The first time you met properly, that all changed. Drinking beers and sharing steamed and salted edamame, you found yourself thinking that Kakashi had a wicked sense of humour, and silently thanked him for giving you new ammunition to rile Yamato up with. Yamato loves your friendship, but hates being the subject of your evenings jokes. You and the copy-nin become quite the double act and it makes Yamato’s heart soar.

5. The first time you meet Team 7, Yamato is overwhelmed - trying to keep the three teens in check, dodging their constant questions, the fighting, and the vying for your attention; the whole situation is an unmitigated disaster. You and Kakashi stay on your best behaviour, but share a look that screams - Can we please just get a beer after this? You both do this every day?! - You send an apologetic look in Yamato’s direction, you hadn’t thought that stopping to say hello as you passed them coming from the training grounds would cause such a commotion. Later, as you walk home from the bar you tell Yamato that you enjoyed the impromptu meeting in the end, that they’re his little family now, and how the whole thing had reminded you of when you were younger and you and your cousins would fight endlessly over any trivial thing. Yamato had never though this what having a family would be like, and he wonders to himself when those kids became so so important to him; deep in the pit of his stomach, he feels the ache of worry grow as he wishes that nothing tragic would happen to them.

6. Whenever Yamato catches you laughing with Genma his chest constricts. You laugh heartily at the tokubetsu jounin’s terrible jokes and, as always, engage in the friendly flirting that characterises your friendship. Yamato knows you’ve know each other for years, that there’s nothing more there than two comfortable friends. The part of him that recedes back into ROOT in times of panic tells him that you’d be better off with a man who’s name refers to natural alluring and dazzling lights. Genma asks you how things are with Yamato if you’re off the market for good? He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively and glances over your shoulder. You follow his gaze, eyes landing on Yamato - who seems to have glazed over during a conversation with Ebisu. You look at your boyfriend and smile, catching his eye and whispering to Genma - oh yeah, this one’s a keeper. In the dead of the night, Yamato asks if he makes you happy and you tell him your world is full of harmony now. That you feel serene. Yamato’s heart feels as though it could burst from his chest.

7. Yamato has a bad habit of shouting at you when you hurt yourself absentmindedly. The first time it happens you’re not paying attention when slicing green onions for dinner. He snaps at you to run it under the cold tap and gets the small first aid box you keep in the kitchen. You snap back at him at first, you’re a kunoichi, you know what you’re doing with knives, this isn’t even serious, why are you being like this? Over time you realise it’s because he feels helpless when you injure yourself at home, it’s different to missions - home is where you’re safe. You stop snapping back, and he continues to treat your small cuts with disinfectant wipes and plasters. Sometimes you forget they’re there and feel a blush rising when Iruka mentions it when you pick up your assignments at the mission desk.

8. Yamato is old fashioned. He learnt so much of how to treat a partner from hearing what the older married ANBU used to talk about. He pours your drinks, pay for meals, offers you an arm to link when you walk, and kisses you chastely when in public. This has earned him a reputation for being shy, you know he is anything but.

9. You both spend your free time pouring over recipe books and buying second-hand cookbooks when you have downtime after long missions both in Konoha and other villages. You cook as much as you can and prepare meals together. The first time Team 7 comes to your tiny apartment, Sai and Sakura watch you both laugh and talk about anything and everything as you prepare a meal for everyone; soy milk ramen. You both drink wine and chop and stir and forget you even have guests, it’s only Naruto’s hungry grumbling that snaps you back into reality

10. You introduce him to your grandmother - the only living relative you have now - she tells him that he’s very handsome and he blushes all the way to the tips of his ears. Later she asks what he does and he tells her that he’s a jounin sensei. She eyes him with suspicion, making an off-handed comment about how in her day jounin sensei’s didn’t carry themselves so seriously, have such an intimidating posture or analyse every exit and escape route when they came for tea with old ladies. Later she corners you in the kitchen as you prepare desert, and she asks you what he really does, you whisper ANBU in her ear and she tells him over matcha cake that she’s glad you’ve found someone who will always protect you. Sometimes they play cards when you’re out of the village on missions, your grandmother chain smokes cigarettes and tells Yamato of the fights she had when she was an active kunoichi. Yamato knows she would kill him if he ever hurt you. He knows it would never come to that but loves the fire and passion running through her and how it’s been passed on to you. When she starts to forget herself, and slowly you, Yamato holds your hand in her tiny kitchen as tears roll down your face. In the night he weeps silently for her too. When she dies, she leaves all her ninja tools to Yamato, and her old engagement ring.

11. When you have sex, he sits cross-legged, your tights draped over his and your feet nestled into his hip creases. You lay the rest of yourself flat against the large bed you share, and he gently coaxes you to orgasm. He spreads you apart, and uses his thumbs interchangeably to rub your clit; up and down, or in soft circles, different speeds, and pressures. Sometimes he slips a finger inside you, stretching you gently and curling up inside you to pull you closer and closer to the edge. He uses his forearms to keep your legs pushed apart as they draw closer and closer in as you feel yourself slowly tipping over the edge. After your orgasm, he spends time rubbing down your shaking thighs and placing delicate kisses on your legs. He never rushes you to move, he never takes his eyes from your flushed face.

Kakashi/Sakura - Romantic ♡ 3. Where character B is their soulmate Please♡♡♡

Notes: SOOOO This is supposed to be a drabble. But heeeey SURPRISE it’s not? Hope you like it anyway, I might add that it’s not terribly fluffy either.

Civiliansconsidered themselves adults when they received their soulmarks at eighteen.Shinobis didn’t care too much about their soulmarks or tried not to at least.Not all soulmates meet, and if they do, not all of them meet on friendlyterms.  

Kakashiknew that the chance of having an out-village soulmate was rare, yet he hadseen how Rin had reacted when Obito died, seen how his father had chosen deathover him, seen Sensei picked death over living without Kushina. His soulmarkappears, “No, you stupid man. You are not dying under my watch!” curvingdown his palm. Cursive and almost unreadable words. 

Inanother world without shinobis, without pain and the ever-hanging death,Kakashi thinks he might have been loved and loved back. But he’s not in anotherworld. He’s here, where the people closest to him have chosen to die, wherethey had died leaving him alone. 

Gaiassures him that soulmates always meet each other. It’s fate and no matter howfar he runs, he’ll always come back to the same fork. It leaves a bitter tastein Kakashi’s mouth. He doesn’t someone, doesn’t want someone else to die onhim. Gai… Gai is the only one he trusts not to die on him. Too much energy andoptimism, too much youth. 

So hedistances himself. 

FromTenzo who pursued his friendship, from Asuma who tried to rekindle their‘broship’ after his long absence, from Team seven who was a mockery of what hisown team had been. 

Hebarely trains his genin, barely cares when Naruto was apprenticed to Jiraiya orwhen Sakura is apprenticed to Tsunade. They were barely his students. 

Yethere they are again. Tsunade refusing to let him fade into anbu, forcing him toreform his team. 

Hehates it, hates how people push him, with supposedly comforting words that hissoulmate was out there somewhere.  

Hedoesn’t care. He tells himself that every time. His soulmate is probably dead,or out-village and he doesn’t care. 

Theyare all lies. 

Becausehe does. 

He’sjust abandoned.

Inspite of people’s popular beliefs, Sakura worked hard to get top kunoichi. Sheknew it wouldn’t matter in the long run. Academy scores didn’t matter in thereal world, but that was all she had to prove to her next superiors that shewas competent. Never mind that she didn’t have a senior shinobi to train herlike all the clan kinds, never mind that some days her parents ‘forgot’ to feedher.  

Sakurais good. 

She hasto be. 

She’snot like Ino who had parents to fall back on after graduating. Sakura had neverhad that kind of affection. She imagines that when she gets her soulmark, meetsher soulmate that they would fall passionately in love. She’d be tucked intohis arms, she would be loved. 

It’sthese thoughts that keep Sakura going even when her jounin sensei turns out tobe a distant and barely teaching them anything beyond referencing books to readon.  

Sakurareads these books voraciously. No one is going to help her if she doesn’t helpherself. She summons her own courage to request for an apprenticeship with Tsunadeand spends her next few years proving herself that she is competent, that sheis worth teaching. 

Becauseno one else cares if she doesn’t.

Shishousends her on a mission with her former Team Seven just near her birthday. Anddespite it being a fairly low ranked mission for shinobis of their status,Sakura thinks that Shishou hadn’t counted for the Team Seven luck. 

Whatshould have been an almost idyllic mission turns into a shitfest. Turns out theperson they were escorting was some long-lost prince who now inherited thekingdom and by mandate was returning to ascend the throne and the councillorwho had looked after the kingdom for twenty years was disgruntled enough tosend Iwa-nins to kill him.

That’s not important. 

Sakurawas busy fighting off Iwa-nins and their stupid explosive jutsu when Kakashitakes an almost fatal hit for Yamato. Quickly, with Sai’s help, she disengagesand flickers to Kakashi, hauling him to the side where Naruto’s clonessurrounded them in a protective circle. 

“No,just leave me,” Kakashi says even as she fights to manually pump his blood andheal that hole in his torso.  

“No,you stupid man. You are not dying under my watch!” she snarls. She presses on,leaving Naruto to deal with anyone attempting to interrupt her and divesin.  

It’smaybe minutes or hours later when she wakes from her healing trance,disoriented by the lack of veins and cells in her vision. A hand helps her up. 

“Kaka-senseiwill be fine.” Hands press food into her hands as soon as she’s seated by thefire. 

She blinks.  

Thestars above have bloomed across the dark twilight sky, the Iaw-nin bodies hadbeen burnt or sealed away, a small smokeless campfire had already been startedand Kakashi was tucked under a blanket next to Yamato, his half-lidded eyewatching her. 

Shedoesn’t care if she saved Kakashi against his will. Only stupid man does stupidthings like that. He can hate her for all she cares. He wouldn’t be the firstor the last to do so. Sakura forces herself to eat the stew Sai had given her.Tomorrow she’ll need to check on him and considering how he chose to dieinstead of being healed, she already knows it’d be a fight. 

To hersurprise, Kakashi doesn’t put up a fight the next day. He lets her press hermedical chakra in, check his torso and even his eyes.  

Andwhen everything checks out, Naruto heaves their long-lost prince onto his backand starts the trip to the Kingdom of Stars. Now that they’re aware of actualthreats, they’re more cautious about leaving traces behind.  

Sakuratries not to recall the way Kakashi refused to let her heal him. So it seemsthat her choice of people to have crushes on always are people who areemotionally unavailable. She’s been down that way once, abandoned at thevillage gates. It wouldn’t surprise her if her soulmate would be equallyuninterested in her.  

Themission ends successfully, and they’re invited to stay in the palace for a fewdays. The Kingdom of Stars is gorgeous. Unlike the Kingdom of Moon, the mostpicturesque thing about the Kingdom of Stars is their sky. The trail ofnorthern lights dancing across the sky, beset with shimmering stars.  

Sakurastares out into the sky, the light wisp of smoke escaping her mouth as shebreathes. It’s a place she wouldn’t mind retiring to. The placid lifestyle ofthe people here, their earnest laughter.  She thinks she could be happyhere. 

Probablynot.  

She hadfinally gotten her soulmark during the mission. It’s across her hip and shedoesn’t care what it says anymore. It’s stupid yearning for something she’llnever get or even brooding over it. When this mission is over, she’ll go backto the hospital where no one cares, back to her one room apartment.  

Sakuraisn’t meant for happiness or love. 

“Sakura?” 

She’sso lost in her thoughts that his voice almost startles her off the roof.Kakashi grabs her, his hand lingers on her arm before he sticks it back intohis pockets. His shoulders are slumped, radiating the feeling of exhaustion. 

“Areyou okay?” The weapons that the Iwa-nin weren’t likely to be poisoned. She wouldhave noticed if it were, but there’s always the chance for human error. Sheputs a hand on his, double checking his system for any infection or poison. 

That’sweird, his hands are bare. Kakashi always wears his gloves. 

Sheturns his hand and gasps. There are thick calluses across his palm, especiallyon the fingertips and across the palm, almost down to his wrist is undeniablyher handwriting.  

“No,you stupid man. You are not dying under my watch!” it says.  

Sheslowly looks up at him. His mismatched eyes look back at her nervously.  

“Ibelieve these are your words,” he says carefully.  

Sakuracan hear her blood pounding in her ears, the colour in her face bleeding out asshe processed the situation. She pulls her shirt up, wrenching part of herpants down. Splayed across her hip, the narrow but neat writing are the words “no,just leave me.” 

“Those…are definitely my words and handwriting.” His hand curls up to grip hers.  

Shebarks a mirthless laugh and shakes his hand off, stepping back several steps.“So…” she starts in a quivering voice and hates herself for the weakness. “…I’m marked with your suicidal words.” 

Sheturns away and the frustration of the entire situation, the helplessness feltso overwhelming that she couldn’t stop tears from gathering in her eyes. 

She wasright.  

Thepeople always had crushes on were emotionally unavailable and that apparentlyincluded her soulmate, the man she had a crush on for the last two years. Also,the man who is suicidal and had such a blatant disregard that shishou forcedthem to have a medic at all times. 

Underall her doubts and sarcasm, Sakura had hoped that her soulmate would be someonewho loved her, where she could finally be love and be loved in return. 

“I’mnot…” he murmurs behind her. “…suicidal…” 

Hereaches out to clasp her shoulder.  “Sakura…” 

“Don’tworry, I’ll be fine even if you leave,” she tells him. She had seen shinobislike Kakashi. She knows what would happen. She won’t cry over this, or so shetells herself as she ignores the tight clenching in her chest.  

Becauseno one would care if she isn’t alright and her parents would be smug in theknowledge that they were right; that even her soulmate didn’t want her. 

“Let metry, please.” His fingers tightened and she looks up at him. Hissharingan still spinning slowly, his hair almost fey in the dimmoonlight.  

Shepulls a shuddering breath from her lungs, schooling the trembling in herhands.  

“Youdidn’t care to teach any of us anything. Didn’t care who I went to or if I hadto go to genin corps. Why? Why should I?” 

“I’mnot suicidal. I just… There’s a point where you don’t care because you’ve beenabandoned by everyone that loved you and I know I fucked up, but please.”His eyes are desperate. 

“Atleast you’ve been loved,” she says, scrubbing the tears furiously away with hersleeve. “I’ve never even once!” 

“Thenlet us try. We’re soulmates right? There has to be a reason for it…” he says.His tone full of self-deprecation. “Gai said that its fate and that no matterhow far we try to run from it, if it’s fate, we’ll come back to the same fork.So since we’re at the fork now. It’s better to try. I… I am still terrified ofmaking have new people join my ring of important people…” 

Herlips twist and Sakura laughs a wet laugh.  

“Andprove them wrong?” she asks. “All the people who said that no one would loveyou.” 

“I’ll standback and watch you crush them?” He thumbs her tears away. 

“Okay.”She presses her face into his palm, his eyes softening.

Andperhaps no one believed it would last. Some soulmates die young together, somesoulmates never quite work out. 

Betweentheir multitude of issues and age gap, no one believed Kakashi and Sakurawould.  

Butthey did. 

Curledup in each other’s arms, under the tall Sakura tree, watching the petals fallaround them, they finally found the happiness, peace and love they had longedfor.  

Untilthey were old and wrinkled, grey and aged.  

Kakashipresses a kiss into her greying hair and thinks of the northern lightsreflected in her pink hair then and he would have it no other way.

Lone Wolf - Yasu 4

When Kakashi dropped in on him with no visible injuries, Yasu tilted his head slightly, “Chakra exhaustion?” He’d asked, already moving to wash his hands and shuffle the younger man into the infirmary section of the house. The young man had a stubborn streak a mile wide but Yasu always did his best to at least keep him in the infirmary for treatment, even if Kakashi always stole his bed for the recovery portion of his visits.

“Nope, I’ve brought payment.”

Such a statement wasn’t terribly unusual--Yasu hadn’t even been the one to bring up the idea of payment for his efforts in ensuring Kakashi lived to see another day. Apparently, Kakashi had snooped around town and learned that Yasu accepted trades just as often as ryo and thus the odd delivery of medicinal herbs from halfway across the continent or a new set of scalpels. Things Yasu had once taken for granted back in Konoha--among other things he’d taken for granted really.

“Thank you, Kakashi, I appreciate it,” Yasu couldn’t help the small smile, in his odd way Kakashi was rather considerate, one just had to look around all his child prodigy typical social skill and jounin eccentricities. Underneath it all, he was just an overgrown teenager fumbling through what was likely his first friendship since he’d defected and Yasu didn’t hold that against him. Kakashi was doing his best.

Still...the crinkle in said missing nin’s eye had Yasu’s narrowing. Kakashi’s arm waved out with a lazy flourish, gesturing Yasu towards his back door, “Come on then, the dogs aren’t the best babysitters.” Which was a statement that had Yasu practically rushing towards the younger man--Because he hoped, he really hoped, that Kakashi wouldn’t drop a child on his doorstep. That seemed just a little too much, even for him.

“Kakashi--You didn’t--Damnit, please tell me you don’t have a kid in my backyard--I-I never take care of it, it’s so overgrown there are snakes back there!” He wasn’t as fast as Kakashi, few people were but Yasu might have been out of practice but damnit, he was the first special jounin in his family. His shunshin was sloppy from disuse but he still landed all the way across his house and next to Kakashi. His frantic state only seemed to further amuse the missing-nin as he gave a lazy shrug.

He knew that look, it always spelt trouble, not danger, but certainly a headache in Yasu’s future. “Don’t worry, I think they’ve already eaten most of them.” The damned Hatake was enjoying this while Yasu was almost certain this was what losing his mind was like. He liked Kakashi, he really honestly did, but the man needed a goddamn hobby besides giving him heart attacks.

“Your dogs ate them?!” Yasu yelped as he quickly unlocked and yanked his door open, the wellbeing of the dogs now accompanying his concern for Kakashi’s common sense. The missing-nin beside him seemed nearly offended at the query,

“What? Of course not, they’d never eat snakes. They have better taste than that, Yasu.”

Running a hand through his brown hair Yasu momentarily considered that Kakashi would certainly be the death of him--before quickly pushing the thought away considering the last person who’d triggered that response. Sharp brown eyes scanned said overgrown mess of backyard until his gaze fell upon the dogs all huddled in a circle snuffling and yipping quietly.

Yasu swore he heard something squawk from within that little circle.

“Kakashi,” The medic spoke slowly and disapprovingly with the same tone he’d have taken with particularly belligerent medic apprentice once upon a time, “What exactly have you brought into my yard?”

As if on cue the dogs parted and a trio of chickens stood, all bickering and clucking over the half-eaten snake carcass and--And honestly, they looked cute. They looked delightful, bright little orbs of sun and fluff and ever so slowly Yasu brought a fist up over his mouth to block Kakashi from seeing the absolutely ridiculous grin that had broken out without his control.

“Kakashi,” he whispered as he knelt down and reached out one hand to carefully pat the most exploratory of the three chickens. Earning a curious little cluck as she, in turn, circled him and pecked lightly at his hands, looking for food most likely, “What the fuck.”

what do you think would have been a good character arc for hinata? personally i think she should have gone into politics, being the head of an influential clan. like, getting over her crush on naruto but still being influenced by him to swing her power against konoha's council. also maybe alliancing w sakura to help her become hokage (i like the idea of naruto giving up being hokage since his motivation is alrdy gone. like, he wanted to become hokage to be recognized so why would he still-1/?

(Cont.) want to become hokage if he WAS recognized. his only really unresolved personal conflict was with sasuke, whose life was ruined by konoha politics. the next step for him would clearly be to divorce himself from that, not become a part of it. in that situation, i think sakura working from the inside to become head of the konoha hospital to gain clout and eventually making a pass for hokage to take the wheel from kakashi before her works better, tho i could also see another ally of naruto taking the wheel while sakura heads the hospital. she’d need someone she could trust to help with her duties. but i do think hinata would be better at manipulation (*eyes gaiden nastily*) and behind-the-scenes politics than anyone from team 7, and would be an incredible asset to have. in a setting where naruto wanted to enact real change on the shinobi world & specifically konoha instead of just, becoming a shitty dad and ineffective hokage. but even outside that i think she’d b suited for it

I totally agree with all of this so much. Those are great ideas ( too bad kishi’s incapable of good writing ) 

My ideal ending would’ve been that Hinata becomes the leader of the hyuuga clan and Sakura becomes Hokage. Hinata developing out of her shell of insecurity and finding real strength and autonomy, becoming a true leader would’ve been great. It wouldve been such an empowering character development. I wanted her to grow up and mature out her (stalker-ish and child-like) infatuation with Naruto and become independent ( or/and finding love in friendship like with Kiba or Shino, who were both always with her and supported her).  I also wish that Neji hadn’t died. He could’ve worked with Hinata in changing the hyuuga clan for the better, the branch family and main family working side by side for a more unified and powerful clan. 

( Another interesting thing would’ve been if Hinata had died for Neji instead. A main family member dying for a branch family member. With what happened with their father, it wouldve come full circle. And her sacrifice could’ve prompted the clan to rethink its rules and structure.)

I didn’t really want Naruto to become Hokage either. I so badly wanted Sakura to follow in Tsunade’s steps and become Hokage, a really super strong, intelligent, badass Hokage! Even better than Tsunade! Throughout shippuden theres so much paralleling between Sakura and Tsunade that you are led to believe that there’s really a chance that she’ll become Hokage, and it frustrates me to no end how sh*tty and tragic her ending turned out to be.  Given her smarts, her personality, and personal qualities, I think she would’ve been great as the second female hokage or, as you said, head the hospital and become the greatest medic nin ever. She gets so much development from Naruto to Shippuden and then its all taken away…..I’ll never stop being salty. 

For Naruto, I would’ve liked for him to be a teacher/jounin. He’s so good at motivating and he lead konohamaru well so I think he’d be great at mentoring the next generation of noble shinobi. Also he’d work closely with Sakura, be her right hand man. They could discuss problems within the village and Sakura could take Naruto’s ideas and work to implement them properly.

Kakashi Hatake

Appearance Kakashi Hatake is a tall man of a lean build, with a significant musculature from years of training in Taijutsu, as well as the other basic training necessary to perform shinobi-level feats of acrobatics and agility. With pale skin and wild silver hair like his father's, Kakashi is often mistaken for Konoha's White Fang. Notably, Kakashi also has a scar running vertically over his left eye, which at one point was a sharingan that he inherited from his friend Obito, that was often kept covered with his headband. Kakashi is known for being extremely handsome, an attribute which is poorly confirmed for most people, as he is rarely seen without his mask. On the occasion that his face IS seen, it is noted that he does possess attractive features, as well as a small mole to the left of his chin.

Generally Kakashi, in adulthood, is known for wearing standard issue Konohagakure shinobi gear appropriate to his rank, a Konohagakure forehead protector, worn skewed over a single eye when he had his atypical sharingan, as well as a facemask worn to cover his nose and cheeks.

Not always physically apparent, Kakashi has an anbu tattoo of a specific design to the Konoha corps. On his left shoulder, taking the shape of a tribal-style flame pattern. Additionally, as a black ops shinobi, Kakashi wore a white dog mask with red streaks on the cheeks.

Kakashi's sharingan has three tomoe as an adult, with his mangekyo pattern being three triangles wrapping around the pupil, reminiscent of a pinwheel.

Personality Aloof and laid-back, many people who meet Kakashi without the benefit of pre-knowledge, have difficulty believing him to be a shinobi, let alone a Jounin. This persona put forth by Kakashi is one that he adopts in order to keep others at a distance from him, as many in the land of fire, indeed who are serious about being shinobi in general, are off-put by this, particularly when he executes perpetual tardiness to appointments. This also serves to help others underestimate Kakashi, allowing him to easily outclass those pig-headed enough to believe him an easy challenge. Kakashi often tries to convince those who know better of this that he only behaves in this fashion due to it not being an important situation, but this rarely convinces those close to him.

These mannerisms were adopted by Kakashi as an intentional diversion from his actual emotional issues that he suffers from as a result of his experiences in war, and to a lesser degree the trauma of his Anbu missions. This was done in response to the repeated pressure of other villagers, and Lord Hiruzen, to address the fallout of his experiences directly. Thus, Kakashi acts as a simpleton, buffoon, layabout, or however he thinks the village wishes to see him, so as to quickly please them. Particularly, as a sensei, he displays these qualities in an effort to emulate his former sensei, Minato.

Self-confident, but far from arrogant, Kakashi understands the scope of his abilities, and often undersells himself, being modest in what he can do, again, so that others can't easily gauge a potential strength ceiling based on brags.

Solitary by nature, Kakashi often wanders around the village by himself, being up to all manner of activity without company, often actively eluding those who he suspect might try to tag along with him, unwantedly. This is largely due to his having trouble relating to other adults, particularly those who were around his age or older when the war was going on. As a natural aversion to these others, it largely hinges on whether they served or not, the former being through a discomfort at either their similarly unaddressed issues, or their actual resolution of their trauma, both bringing Kakashi a type of discomfort due to it always seeming to come full-circle to a demand that HE work on himself. If the shinobi in question didn’t fight in the war, then Kakashi is just as likely to be judgmental towards them, whether rationally or not.

Thanks to this Kakashi is more readily able to, and willing to, relate to the youth of the village. Particularly this served him well when leading Squad 7, who strongly resembled Kakashi’s own squad, endearing them in some regard to him when they showed the teamwork during the bell exercise that not even his own team readily displayed.

As the squad grew, and Kakashi grew closer to his students emotionally, he would grow less standoffish towards other members of the village, as watching them become greater ninja, coming into their own and succeeding, gave him something that he didn’t know he needed. This allowed Kakashi to steadily open up to other adult shinobi as the series progressed, letting his guard down and forming more sincere friendships with them that retained some honesty, though those who knew Kakashi the best were still his comrades from Squad 7.

Biography [Summarized in the Naruto Franchise. Notable deviation from the primary series is Kakashi's Sharingan are fully realized after Obito's soul entered Kakashi's body, permanently being a part of him, rather than temporary.]

Abilities and Skills -Shinobi Training: With early mentoring from his father, education at the Konohagakure Shinobi Academy, further training from Minato Namikaze, and no small degree of personal training and discipline, Kakashi's developed a broad variety of skills, ninja abilities, and knowledge that allows him to be considered among the super-elite as far back as his late teens and early 20s. Kakashi's skill in the shinobi arts are considered so significant that he surpasses many dedicated specialists and Jounin in their own field. --Physical Conditioning: Kakashi's physical state is considered downright absurd by others. Frequently pushing himself with deadly exercise, such as climbing sheer cliffs with one hand tied behind his back, and not using his chakra, as well as all manners of calisthenic drills that make him able to move stronger, faster, and with more flexibility than most other shinobi. This is highly apparent from his physical state, with chiseled muscles that show not only a fair amount of bulk, but fantastic toning. Kakashi is usually able to out-maneuver and out-power others casually, particularly those with less training than himself, not having to rely too heavily on any special tricks or techniques. This is equally evident by Kakashi being able to use Kubikiribōchō, a massive blade larger than the body of most average sized people, with a single hand for extended periods of time, as well as weaving his hand seals so quickly that the trained eyes often can't see what he's forming. Kakashi's reflexes are also so sharp that he can react to and dodge attacks without needing to see them. --Taijutsu: Thanks to his initial training in taijutsu, and significant use during wartime, coupled with frequent training by way of his challenges with Gai, Kakashi is considered a master of Taijutsu. In several respects he's able to utilize martial arts, fighting multiple opponents at a time, fighting single opponents in either highly technical face-offs or more simple (devastating) ones, as well as utilizing stealth and tactics to outfight foes who are less sneaky. Kakashi's proficiency in Taijutsu is also expressed through his ability to open the Hidden Gates (The first explicitly in canon, up to The Gate of Limit in headcanon). --Acrobatics and Agility: Kakashi's physical speed allows him to quickly and effortlessly along the battlefield, rarely having to take the environment into more than a passive consideration. Additionally, due to Kakashi's more evasive strategy, Kakashi utilizes his movement to keep out of harm's way most of the time, often only taking injuries when it becomes necessary, when the foe is of a similar magnitude of mobility to Kakashi's, or an opponent's ability and style is somehow a counter that doesn't require them to actually chase an opponent. --Stealth and Infiltration: As a member of the Anbu Black Operations, Kakashi Is extremely versed in covert tactics, often being able to approach other members of the same organization without detection. In concert with this skill, Kakashi's developed an entire style of fighting is focused on dismantling foes through use of stealth and surprise tactics. --Disguise and Impersonation: Due, in part, to Kakashi's face-mask, not many people know what Kakashi's actual appearance is. It's thanks to this that he can easily disguise himself with assumed identities, such as Sukea, and not even have his own students recognize him beneath a minimal amount of makeup. Kakashi is also adept at impersonating others, changing his voice to sound like a broad range of voices, even being able to utilize ninjutsu to change it into things he normally wouldn't be able to make the appropriate sounds for. --Keen Senses: As a component of his shinobi training, Kakashi was taught to be hyper-aware of his surroundings at most times, allowing him to detect the approach of others who aren't using the most advanced infiltration techniques, or illusions. Kakashi's olfactory has been shown to be particularly sharp as well. His senses become even sharper when he focuses his chakra into them, allowing him to track opponents with startling effectiveness. --Weapons Training and Marksmanship: Versed in all manner of shiobi weaponry, Kakashi is also able to effectively employ weapons that he has never wielded a similar kind before, such as was the case with Kubikiribōchō. For much of his life, Kakashi employed the use of a tantō, mostly as a Genin, Chuunin, early Jounin exploits, as well as during his Anbu missions. Kakashi retired the use of his tantō as a primary weapon when returning to more typical military service as a Jounin once more. Despite this, Kakashi is still highly deadly with weapons, and will often employ them to finish battles quickly, or in tandem with his lightning release to slice through particularly tough opponents and physical barriers.

-Intelligence and Tactical Knowledge: With a natural mind that's often compared to the other great strategists in the shinobi world, Kakashi's depth of knowledge is deep and expansive, often being able to recognize obscure jutsu with only secondhand information and reading to go off of. Generally, Kakashi's tactics involve using Kawirimi and various Bunshin techniques to avoid attacks and direct confrontation, or at the least those direct results, to observe and analyze an opponent. Based on the information he gains, he deconstructs it mentally to determine what the opponent's weakness is, then exploit it. Oftentimes he's able to utilize the skills of his teammates to accomplish this even more efficiently. Kakashi's plans are often unusual and difficult to predict. --Squad Leadership: Kakashi's ultimate strategic strong-suit was in leading small squads of four, in part thanks to his anbu experience, but then the time that he worked as the leader of Squad 7. Kakashi is able to coordinate and maximize the effectiveness of himself and three teammates to take on daunting missions and battles.

-Animal Training and Handling: Kakashi has raised an entire pack of ninken from youth to fully grown dogs that he can summon. Though they are intelligent creatures, it still speaks for Kakashi's remarkable ability to maintain his alliance with them, and utilize them so effectively as part of his strategy.

-Administration and Military Leadership: As hokage, Kakashi was in charge of delegation and administration for much of the financing, dispatching, and coordination of Konoha's military, as well as most of the duties one might expect of the leader of any small settlement.

-Teaching: Directly and indirectly, Kakashi was a teacher to many young shinobi in Konoha. For six years straight, as a Jounin, Kakashi failed many genin hopefuls for not meeting his expectations and teamwork and self sacrifice that he looked for in potential shinobi. This hard lesson was enough to help instill the need for teamwork that these failed ninja were ultimately grateful for. Additionally, when leading Squad 7, he fostered the development of the fundamentals for three shinobi who would eventually become the greatest in the world. Additionally, despite only having self-taught himself, Kakashi taught Sasuke Uchiha a great amount in regards to how to use his sharingan, to the point that Sasuke became a serious threat as a genin with the mirror eyes.

Superhuman Powers and Abilities -Chakra Manipulation and Utilization: As a shinobi and member of the Hatake clan, Kakashi has a very potent natural ability to tap into his chakra and make use of it. Notably, Kakashi's ability to control and use chakra efficiently is at an extremely advanced level, to the point that he can reflexively use it to walk along sheer surfaces and atop water without a second thought. Additionally, Kakashi is able to make use of very chakra-costly jutsu multiple times per day, while his actual reserves are fairly modest, being considered average to slightly above average later in the setting. Over the course of the series Kakashi grows better at using his chakra efficiently to the point that he can repeatedly use Raikiri without consideration for his chakra, or without much, as opposed to four times initially. --Ninjutsu: Thanks to a great skill with ninjutsu, Kakashi was able to graduate from the academy quickly, in less than a year. Kakashi was then able to grow quickly over time in terms of his techniques, developing a deep enough array and ability with the core shinobi discipline to become a Jounin by 12. Through training from Minato Namikaze, Kakashi was able to learn the Rasengan, hoping to apply his prodigal genius to the technique so as to complete it by applying an elemental transformation to it. However, Kakashi was unable to do this, resulting in the technique Chidori, and later Raikiri, both considered some of the most powerful jutsu in terms of nature transformation. However, even this technique was highly flawed, and required the enhanced perceptive ability of the Sharingan to utilize properly. With Obito's sharingan, Kakashi's ability and repertoire of ninjutsu grew further due to the sharingan's ability to mimic other jutsu, a function of the dojutsu that he became well-known for. ---Nature Transformation: Kakashi once stated that Jounin are able to use at least three nature transformations on average. He can use all five of the basic transformations, as well as Yin and Yang Release. Kakashi is highly adept at using advanced applications of all five transformations, particularly water, which he can conjure the techniques for without a nearby source of water, and lightning, which is his natural affinity, that he can focus into highly destructive techniques such as Raikiri. Notably, Kakashi has used his lightning release to cut a bolt of natural lightning, dissipating it, something thought previously impossible. --Genjutsu: Kakashi is well-versed in the use of Genjutsu, though it is considered his weakest technique, by a narrow margin compared to other shinobi, his ability in Genjutsu is considered high-Jounin level still. Though he knows a host of Genjutsu, Kakashi's primary skillset is involved in combating other Genjutsu users, releasing others, and recognizing when he IS trapped in a Genjutsu technique. Kakashi is also able to use the genjutsu that require sharingan, though he rarely uses these, as a ninjutsu specialist he's more dangerous in that respect.

-Sharingan: Surgically implanted during the Third Shinobi World War, Kakashi is most well-known for his single left Sharingan eye. Through the Sharingan copy can recreate motions that he's seen or are seeing perfectly, as well as deduce and predict an opponent's next moves based on factors and tiny shifts in an opponent's body before they actually start. Additionally, with the Sharingan, Kakashi is able to see the chakra of others, and analyze a jutsu through their physical movements and chakra, copying jutsu as they're performed. During the time when his left Sharingan was permanently activated in the left eye, the eye quickly drained Kakashi's chakra when in use, requiring him to physically cover it with his eye or headband when in-use. This was to such a degree that even in his late 20s, Kakashi would end up bedridden for several days following a relatively brief and not-that-intense use of the eye. Kakashi's chakra usage would eventually become more efficient and less costly, allowing him to use it more. After Obito granted his eyes a fully-realized Sharingan, Kakashi's use of the eye became far less taxing on his chakra, due to being able to deactivating it, and the atypical installation of the eye no longer being a draining factor. --Mangekyou Sharingan: The advanced form of the Sharingan, Kakashi initially gained the transformation when Rin Nohara committed suicide against his hand. However, due to losing consciousness after activating it, he was ignorant to its appearance, and did not become aware of his ability to use it for roughly a decade and a half. The inborn technique of Kakasih's eye was the long-range variant of Kamui, which over time he developed into an extremely precise and deadly attack. Kakashi is also able to use Kamui in a defensive capacity to intercept fast-moving attacks, being able to use it without an opponent being aware of its use whatsoever. For a time Kakashi began to suffer from the standard side-effects of the Mangekyou, such as bleeding eyes and vision deterioration. This issue disappeared, as the apparent imbuing of a permanent version of Obito's eyes has afforded Kakashi something similar to the permanent Mangekyou, though without the additional techniques, as he technically only had one set of Sharingan ever. Immediately upon gaining fully-realized Sharingan eyes, Kakashi is able to immediately manifest a Complete Body Susano'o.

Notable Jutsu (Not a complete list, more meant to be Kakashi's iconic and important techniques as well as HC techs) -Chidori: The first move that Kakashi ever invented himself, this technique manifests as a somewhat perfect example of nature transformation, transforming chakra gathered in Kakashi's hand into raw electricity. The sound of the bolts of electricity cutting through the air creates a series of small chirping noises that give the jutsu its name. This technique also allows its user to charge towards targets at insanely high speeds, though this can give a user tunnel vision that makes them easy to counterattack, if they're anticipated. This technique requires a great amount of chakra to use, forcing Kakashi to limit how often he used it until his chakra control had become so precise that he did not have to worry as much. --Raikiri: A more advanced application that Kakashi developed over time. The Raikiri has even more intense lightning due to focusing more chakra into the attack. Combined with the sensory powers of the Sharingan, Kakashi was able to use this technique to split a bolt of lightning, earning the name. This version of the technique seems to allow Kakashi to also move with greater finesse and speed, hence the ability to use it to cut lightning. The tunnel vision weakness of this technique is still an issue. Kakashi has also shown the ability to channel this technique into kunai, slightly increasing its range, or even throwing them, turning Raikiri into a ranged technique. ---Raikiri: Lightning Hound: By charging his Raikiri and discharging it, he can turn Raikiri into a full-blown ranged attack that takes the form of a wolf-like beast that charges at its enemy in an unpredictable pattern, making it difficult to avoid. The beast remains connected to Kakashi until it discharges, so he can add more chakra to it, and speed it up. This technique can be more draining on his chakra reserves, but can strike down difficult-to-track opponents, and can be a fairly devastating attack when landing. ----Raikiri: Storming Pack: By overcharging his Raikiri, as well as splitting it as per Two-Hit Press, Kakashi is able to launch multiple Lightning Hounds at once. This enables him to fire a barrage of these beasts, making it an effective flurry attack to blast away powerful defenses, or to catch evasive opponents in a trap. This technique requires much more chakra than the difficult to use Lightning Hound, and requires much more focus to effectively coordinate more hounds, but it can pay off extremely well in the right circumstances. ---Lightning Transmission: Usually through using a Shadow Clone, Kakashi is able to connect multiple iterations of the Raikiri technique to create a deadly arc that can be used to cut through targets. ----Raikiri: Two-Hit Press: A variation of the Raikiri technique, Kakashi separates a single use of the technique into two, creating an arc through his arms akin to Lightning Transmission, though this version allows him to charge both techniques into individual iterations of the parent technique. Through this he's able to perform a variety of successive combination attacks and strategies that others don't anticipate. ---Raiton: Purple Lightning: The most advanced, and arguably deadly, variant of the Chidori technique. The lightning of this technique takes on a purple coloration, and doesn't inherently give its user tunnel vision. Additionally, this technique allows Kakashi to launch the chakra, instead of simply keeping it confined to his hand and/or arm. Through  this technique he may also project it in an omni-directional fashion. As well, Kakashi is able to manipulate the weather by causing storms using this technique.

-Kage Bunshin: The standard Shadow Clone technique, Kakashi is able to create up to dozens of physical duplicates, each sharing an equal split of his chakra until dispersed. Kakashi rarely makes use of this technique before more than three or four, instead usually using single clones, or very few in concert, with his fighting style, due to his limited chakra. Another favored tactic of Kakashi's, adapted from Naruto's abuse of this particular technique, is to use Shadow Clones as direct body shields to avoid singular target attacks, such as rasengan and chidori. Kakashi also frequently employs this technique to strike foes with multiple Raikiri, or to use Lightning Transmission. --Lightning Release: Kage Bunshin: A technique that Kakashi uses when he needs to kill a foe with a counterblow, this technique otherwise functions in the same manner as a standard shadow clone, but when injured it disperses into lightning chakra. This causes the clone to not return Kakashi's chakra when dispersed. Kakashi may modulate how much chakra one of these clones has. --Tajuu Kage Bunshin: Functionally the same as Kage Bunshin, Kakashi is able to create hundreds of clones at the same time, rather than dozens. When using this variant of the technique he is able to determine what the split of his chakra is, so as to create some clones that are stronger than others.

-Kamui: An extremely high-level space-time ninjutsu, Kamui is a technique specific to Obito Uchiha's sharingan. Initially, through use of his left eye, Kakashi was only able to perform a long-range variant of Kamui. It was through this he was able to coordinate many defensive strategies, as well as use it offensively to rip an opponent apart, by only teleporting part of them. With both eyes, Kakashi was able to use the shorter-range version, which allowed him to teleport things in relative to himself, as well himself, through direct contact. It's through the short-range eye that he's also able to turn himself, entirely and partly, intangible. The dimension of Kamui, which Kamui transfers to and from, is completely detached from all others, and may only be accessed through an eye that has the technique. The Kamui dimension is not specific to its users. When interacting with objects that enter or exist Kamui, the user is able to manipulate the target's conditions upon entrance and exit. After obtaining both eyes, Kakashi is able to use his kamui more quickly, precisely, and efficiently. He can also use the eyes in a unified capacity for greater effectiveness, or for separate purposes simultaneously. Additionally, through his Susanoo, Kakashi can imbue the warping properties of Kamui into space and objects. --Kamui Raikiri: Through imbuing his Kamui technique into his own chakra, Kakashi was able to perform Raikiri in a fashion that kept him from being beholden to counterattack, while eventually landing, warping part of his target's body into the Kamui dimension on-hit. Kakashi was able to achieve this through Six Paths chakra, indicating that this technique is highly-taxing on Kakashi, more than the sum of its parts. --Kamui Shuriken: Kakashi's Susanoo is able to create shuriken constructs that strongly resemble his Mangekyou Sharingan that become imbued with Kamui. When these shuriken strike a target, they're teleported to the Kamui dimension, in whole or part. When having both of his sharingan, Kakashi is able to also throw miniature versions of these, this is more efficient than the full-sized version.

-Susanoo: Kakashi came in able to fully manifest a complete Susanoo. This Susanoo is as powerful of others of its kind, strongly resembling its user, wielding a katana while active. Additionally, Kakashi's Susanoo is able to use shuriken shaped like its source Mangekyou.

-Summoning Technique (Ninken): Through a summoning pact that he made with a pack of ninken that he'd raised from pups, Kakashi is able to perform the summoning technique to call these hounds from wherever they may be. Kakashi is the only known shinobi to have this particular contract, with these specific dogs. -Summoning Technique: Earth Release: Fanged Pursuit: With this summoning technique, usually requiring a specialized scroll to perform, he may summon his Ninken underground, from which they will tunnel to attack any scent or directive that Kakashi gives them on-summoning.

-Genjutsu: Sharingan: A variety of diverse genjutsu techniques, it's assumed that Kakashi can also use this technique, like any other user of this jutsu, to control Biju. From there, it's inferred that there are a number of genjutsu that specifically can only be performed by a character with sharingan that Kakashi can learn.

-Rasengan: Originally invented by his sensei Minato, Kakashi can perform this technique, though only the core variant, as he was interested in adding his Lightning Release to it. It was through this failed experimentation that Kakashi invented the Chidori.

-Mizu Bunshin: Kakashi is able to make clones from water. Kakashi can form these clones from existing water, or spontaneously, as he can with most water release jutsu. This technique requires less chakra to form from existing bodies of water, and can be dismissed into water to fuel other Water Release techniques.

-Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet: A technique in which Kakashi molds chakra into a body of water, or produces water by converting his chakra directly into the element via transformation, shaping it as a dragon and crashing into a target, dealing significant damage to said target. Kakashi is able to use a variant of this technique in which he molds the technique with forty-four hand signs to significantly power up the attack, causing a cancellation of the technique against a Hidden Mist Jounin of similar prestige.

-The Eight Gates: Kakashi is able to use this technique to enhance his chakra and physical state up to the 5th gate of Limit. He rarely employs this technique beyond the first three gates.

Weaknesses and Limitations -Chakra and Stamina: Of all respects, Kakashi's ability to engage in extended combat is his weakest forte. This reflects in him struggling more and more progressively in lengthier exchanges with foes, often tiring out or resorting to immediate-kill tactics far earlier than more enduring shinobi. Kakashi's style is formed with this in mind. With this limited stamina, Kakashi also has a rather weak pool of chakra, having dreadfully “average” stores of the energy, though this improved over the course of the timeskip, and subsequently over Shippuden. Towards the end of the series Kakashi was able to engage in fairly intense battles back-to-back during The Fourth Shinobi War, with only having his stores of energy replenished a couple of times. This is also largely thanks to his fighting style, but Kakashi has significantly improved, as in a single day he was able to make numerous uses of Raikiri, related techniques, and his Kamui.

-Emotional State: Though Kakashi is largely able to operate without his mental state affecting him too terribly, Kakashi is ultimately still unstable, suffering from a form of traumatic stress that certain opponents can abuse to their advantage in combat.

-Post-Sharingan Migraines: Kakashi’s body was not built with a Sharingan in-mind. This ultimately means that his anatomy had to adapt to the presence of the new eye, manipulating his chakra network to more easily pump Chakra into the eye, whether it was active or not. Now, with or without activatable eyes, his body still over-fills in a specific region of his body behind the left eye, causing a sort of blockage. This blockage can be cleared with proper treatments, but ultimately still cause debilitating migraines.

(To start, it bears mentioning that a lot of these people were from my personal village, “The Village Hidden in Plain Sight.” At a certain point in their training, they believed they couldn’t progress without giving up something substantial. Usually, it was a body part.

It died down, but not before taking the lives of both Minoru's parents when he was just a toddler. His adopted mother/grandmother found him wandering on the outskirts of the village and took him in. Growing up with only a few vague memories and no knowledge of what he is, he lives only to protect and serve his home.

They were firm friends right through training and, had things worked out differently, would have gotten married. But at age 17 she was killed on what should have been a routine mission. No one, maybe not even Ryuokouen, fully understands just how much he misses her. For her he cut the muscles in his own left arm, rendering it useless.

Though he has the charm to make village girls swoon, he can and frequently does change his gender, becoming a pretty young girl in order to steal from naive young farm boys with more chickens then common sense. In spite of all his quirks, he loves Minoru with a fierce passion, and would gladly give his life to protect him.

Chinatsu Ikeda Nicknames: Chi (given by Ryukuen) Village: Plain Sight Age: 17 when she died Personality: Outgoing, sweet, playful Date of Birth: December 11 Hair: Short and brown. Has a small string of blue beads tied in. Eyes: Lavender Likes: Cinnamon, thunderstorms in the summer, dancing Dislikes: Selfishness, dogs that drool, two-faced people Fears: Needles Favorite food: Pancakes, smoked ham Favorite color: Orange Past: Chinatsu used to be best friends with Ryuken when they were young, and their friendship blossomed as they grew up. She was Chi to him and he was Ryu to her. On a mission to stop a small band of rogue ninjas, what should have been an easy job, she was fatally wounded in the stomach. She died three days later without ever waking up.

Yurei Zenwara Nicknames: None Village: Plain Sight when he was born, will secretly do mercenary work for any village that seeks his services. Age: 19 Personality: Colder than ice. He only lives to do his missions and cares for nothing. Date of Birth: January 14 Hair: White and extremely long Eyes: Pale, pale yellow Likes: His chains Dislikes: The sound of cicadas Fears: Nothing Favorite Food: Ginger tea Favorite color: None Past: When he was a genin, Yurei was actually very sweet. He was dedicated to the ninja arts and equally so to his teacher, something that turned to love in time. But for his gesei no yoru, he underwent a specific, highly secretive training techinquie that involved sealing away his emotions. The chains that hang around his wrists, neck, and ankles are symbolic of that, as well as being effective weapons.    

Ika Katsuyuki Nicknames: None Village: Sound Age: 16 Personality: Arrogant and rude Date of Birth: June 29 Hair: Very dark blue, with two long strands Eyes: Dark green Likes: Hot baths, falling snow, firelight Dislikes: People and the things that they do, when her name is made fun of Favorite food: Jelly on fresh bread, roast fish Favorite color: Red Past: Ika had a very nice childhood, choosing her path as one of Orochimaru's followers on her own. Though she admires his power and charisma, she could never get into his inner circle. That, plus the fact that she had an unrequited crush on Kabuto, helped to make her an even more bitter person than she already was. How she came to find love with someone like Washi is a mystery for the ages. But love him she does.

Shi Hiromi Nicknames: None Village: Sound Age: 14 Personality: Loyal to the death, loving, but a survivor through and through Date of Birth: August 1 Hair: Short purple/gray/blue Eyes: Dark blue Likes: The wind, daffodils, the thrill of victory Dislikes: When people insult her injury without being able to challenge her properly, pickled plums Favorite food: Anything with strawberry in it Favorite color: Teal Past: Shi was born in the Village Hidden in the Blood at the worst possible time, and lived a happy life until age three. That year the village was attacked. She sustained many injuries, but none more life-altering than the gash across her throat that nearly took her life. Without the ability to speak, she grew up on the streets into a fierce little fighter. It was this (and the fact that she looks like a beautiful boy) that drove Orochimaru to take her into the Sound Village. It was there that she met Zaku. The love Shi found with him would keep him by her side and fill her life with light, right until the end of both their days.

Kakashi, Kurenai and Iruka being a little bookclub, eagerly swapping recommendations and meeting up every fortnight to discuss the Group Book, doing reads together, they have a whole rating system devised and leave reviews for every book

Kakashi with his romance novels, Kurenai who gravitates to drama and Iruka's love for historical fiction. Computers exist in this world so they def have a book blog together which is a great blog to check out if you want to see lesser known recommendations bc these three are the book snobs who never pick up what is currently popular in fact they are outright scoffing at the bestsellers section of the bookstore and library

Honestly I think Kakashi's standard uniform masked look is so iconic around the village that if he ever went unmasked, in casual clothes, with just a normal eyepatch... nobody would give him a second glance. Because nobody knows what he looks like under all that anyway so he could just go around using a fakename and absolutely definitely get away with it

It also means he is losing a "who looks more like Kakashi unmasked" competition to frickin Asuma, of all people

Iruka is nearsighted but nobody would ever guess it because he simply navigates through life using echolocation/chakralocation sensor skills to make up for it. Every student he's ever taught is convinced he for real has eyes in the back of his head because it's damn near impossible to sneak up on him as a result [the only people who have ever succeeded are Kakashi and Kurenai, both able to completely mask their presence]
