Important Things For This Blog

I wanted to make a post with some rules/important things to know for this blog. It will be linked in my pinned navigation post. I know some of you have been asking for this and I apologize for it taking this long to do this.

Probably the most important thing (which is sad that this is something I have to say) but

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO YOU HAVE MY PERMISSION TO USE MY FICS FOR AI

If you see someone using my fics or claiming to have my permission please report them because I will NEVER give permission for my fics to be used for AI

Okay, now that that's out of the way, I wanted to put down some reminders/rules (not that I've had many issues to date) but just in case:

This is an 18+ blog with explicit content. I am trusting a lot of you to be honest and stay away if you are not 18. This is not a minor friendly space.

I am one person running this blog. It's just me, a real person behind all of this.

I am in Pacific Standard Time (PST)/Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) depending on the time of year, so any time I talk about days, I'm meaning that day for me if I forget to add the timezone.

I take a break from this blog on Thursdays (PST), though that can sometimes start as early as Wednesday afternoons and can extend into Friday mornings.

Again, I am a human being with my own struggles and some days are not good days. I try to avoid interacting too much those days, but sometimes I'm not smart enough to do that. So if I seem off or rude or snappy, I do apologize. I always feel guilty after I get back into my normal head space.

I invoke the right to delete any ask that I do not want to answer, or that makes me uncomfortable.

As point number 2 states, I am just one person, and I get a lot of asks some days, so if your ask/comment/reblog etc isn't responded to right away, it's either because I didn't get it/didn't see it, or because I have 30 others in my inbox that I haven't answered yet too.

I try and avoid posting asks/reblogs with spoilers right away for those that don't/can't read the chapter right away. I tend to hold off for a couple days so if I haven't responded to you, that's also probably why.

Responses that have spoilers and are posted the days I post spoilers are tagged with "crcb spoilers" so block that tag if you don't want to see them or have anything spoiled, though after those days I stop tagging things with that tag.

I use my queue a lot, especially on days where I don't plan to be on Tumblr much, or days I post spoilers. I try to remember to use the tag "queue 06" when I'm using the queue.

Regarding CRCB exclusively, I have taken a lot of time to make and organize several lore/FAQ masterlists. If you ask a question that has already been answered there (which to be fair I do miss adding some sometimes) I will direct you there to avoid repeating myself.

The navigation post pinned on my page is there for a reason. Please utilize it.

An Important Update ♡

So my Zuko fic Daughter of the Spirits has been fully edited and has seen some minor alterations, particularly in chapter 10. I am working on chapter 11 now and will hopefully have it posted sometime soon!

understand ch 2/7 of R for mass spectrometry (i tried but am lost with the mass spectrometry, so i'm watching a video that hopefully explains a good chunk of this chapter and i might even just take a step back from this book and find more approachable resources that explain the foundations in more depth/in a more beginner-friendly way. this is taking longer than i thought. tbh kinda discouraging but i gotta remind myself it's a marathon, not a sprint, and it's okay if i don't know everything i need to know going into the lab, i have a good head on my shoulders, i will understand what i need to know with time.)

work on unit 3/18 of integrated math 1 ✅ (all that's left is the unit test 🙌🏻)

academics of tumblr- do you have a favorite journal article website? mine's nature 😅 i love their minimalist, undistracting aesthetic; typography; contrast between foreground and background; but most of all, how, when full screen, the corresponding figures and references show on the side of the screen when you click on the in-text links, instead of scrolling you away from where you were reading. on pretty much any other site i've used so far, i have to skim and scroll all the way back to find my place over. and over. and over again.

remember what i said about kevandreil? apply it to this one too.

ik it sounds like i just hate poly couples. i don’t. i just hate ships like this, that really wouldn’t be healthy but people put together anyway because oh gay people yay! it feels gross and fetish-y and i am not here for it.

this is a ship that i can see happening pre-canon, but i’m not the biggest fan of it simply because there’s no way it could be healthy. they went through a lot together, sure, but traumabonds are notoriously unhealthy.

i don’t… i don’t hate this one. i just don’t like it. i feel like both Renee and Jean have wayyy better ships (not to spoil anything, but they both make top 5 in different ships)

i don’t think they’re awful, per se, i just don’t really see the chemistry.

12. Allison/Seth

this is an unpopular opinion, i know. but i’ve read a few “Seth lives” fics that redeem him, so i can’t hate him. i can’t, you can’t make me.

believe me, i don’t like it either, but i don’t run this city, the rats do.

anyway, it’s not awesome and i like Ally’s other options better, but it could be good! it could be great! i read too much redemption fanfic!

i’ll be honest, it’s not my favorite to read when Jean is also in a fic, but if we’re talking in general?

i adore. fics where Kev is falling all over himself trying to talk to Jer are my bread. and. fucking. butter. quicksand has destroyed me. absolutely ruined me.

Hiccups Musing: Gratitude

I just want to take a moment to tell everyone who has interacted with me how much it's meant to have such positive communication shared.

When I first started this tumblr and saw all of the dead hiccups kink accounts I didn't have much hope that anyone of this ilk still existed on this platform. But even though you all are few, the quality of people I've met on here who have reached out to me and shared compliments or questions have been extremely friendly in a way I hadn't expected.

Not that I thought the hiccups kink community was mean, but that there might be no interaction or I would get people who just wanted content or people who wanted to push videos on me or see videos of me. Or maybe I would even get people stumbling onto my blog with a desire to tell me how weird I was for having this kink.

I've gotten no inappropriate conversation, just other people wanting to connect with this weird little kink we all have for some damn reason. That's what I wanted. I was tired of the content grabs and insults to content creators. I was tired of the greed and desperation. I JUST wanted to connect with people and try to be OK with having this weird kink.

To my surprise, that's exactly what has happened. I don't take that for granted.

I still want to keep this as safe a place as possible. So, a reminder to please be 18 or over if you are planning on interacting with me. I get that I cannot prevent those under 18 from consuming my blog and I understand if it gives young teens a knowledge of how okay it is to experience this kink. But please don't interact with me. I am much older and don't feel comfortable with that dynamic. I also understand that specific arousal is very often unlocked in the teens and wanting to connect with others that experience similar things can feel impossible. Seek out safe places that are specifically for younger teens. I don't know where these places would be, and it is unfortunate that there's not legal outlets for young teens to safely explore themselves (that I know of). But do not interact with adults about these topics. It's unsafe for you and it's unsafe for us both legally and emotionally.

This all being said, I reiterate how amazing this experience has been to become more comfortable with myself and my kink. I hope it continues to be this easy. I hope you all enjoy my fictions or commentary and can find some relief in knowing maybe it's okay to have this fucking bizarre as hell kink.

Here’s the thing my guys-- YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE AN EXCUSE FOR A SINGLE THING YOU WRITE. JUST TAG YOUR SHIT ACCORDINGLY.

This gives everyone else the chance to give informed consent as to whether or not they want to read the shit you write. Because again that’s what all this drama boils down to: CONSENT.

And here’s the thing about fictional characters my loves. THEY CANNOT GIVE CONSENT BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT REAL. 

YOU THE READER ARE REAL. YOU HOLD ALL THE CONSENT TO READ OR NOT TO READ. IF YOU DO NOT CONSENT THEN DON’T READ IT AND MOVE THE FUCK ON. the block button is there for a reason. Blacklisting tools to block those tags exist for a reason.

the whole purity thing and policing what people should and should not write is pretty 2008 and no one likes a pearl clutcher. This pearl clutching and purity policing really comes down to readers denying or disguising (and sometimes even both) their own agency and consent to promote their own agenda.

“writing smut or sex with underage characters and aging them up is wrong because they can’t give consent” THEY CAN’T GIVE CONSENT BECAUSE THEY AREN’T REAL. THEY ARE FICTIONAL. Even if they are 18+ ( a consenting adult across the US federal law) THEY CANNOT CONSENT BECAUSE THEY ARE FICTIONAL. they do not exist. They are not real.

an ant’s left butt cheek can give more consent than a fictional character because IT EXISTS.

the ongoing argument that stemmed tonight’s drama isn’t about defending the rights and consent of the fictional characters mentioned, its about “ this sort of writing shouldn’t be allowed”.

And this argument is shit. Take away the camouflage and the coverup and the victim blaming and what you really have is a real living person behind a computer screen saying “ I do not consent to this and i am not comfortable with my own personal agency”.

a person who has the critical  and comprehensive thinking skills can look at writing or an rp blog and say “ huh, this is something that i do not consent to. This makes me uncomfortable. this doesn’t seem like my kind of thing” and can just keep on scrolling.

A person who is not comfortable  or confident with their own personal agency goes through this in-depth thought process in response to what they have read:

-I do not consent to read this. - I do not feel that I am in a safe enough space to withhold my consent. - i feel unsafe. - i need to be protected. - i can’t make it about my feelings, because i am not allowed to. - a sense of displacement takes place --> Others need to be protected. --This should not be allowed.

Take for example, someone walking into a movie theater and saying “ i don’t like horror movies.” and walks into a showing of a horror movie and says “ This is so harmful to viewers why are they showing this!”

There’s a rating system for a reason. You don’t have to go into that movie. Just keep walking.

Lastly my guys... PEOPLE ARE INTO WEIRD SHIT. In real life, with real people, consent is a super huge deal. and guess what, that’s why people have active and open conversations about consent, boundaries, empathy, and an understanding  towards power differentials. Its in the news. its in school. We are in an era where these kinds of conversations are socially expectable. Pearl clutching recedes this.

In fiction you can do whatever the hell you want. Some people actually like how it makes them feel because it is not real. it can be experienced within the safety of fiction.

going back to the horror movie analogy who am i to tell Stephen King to not write horror because it could make me uncomfortable? Lots of people like it. He’s won awards for is writing.

 and people still pearl clutch saying things about  weird fiction in general  like “ but it will normalize rape and pedophilia!! people will think its okay!”

do you think seeing a sewer clown murdering children is going to make a fan go out and do that? unless there’s some severe mental health issue, i think not.

YOU’RE CONSENT DOES MATTER. YOU ARE ALLOW TO NOT LIKE WHAT PEOPLE WRITE. JUST DON’T MAKE IT ABOUT SOME GRAND MORAL JUSTICE OF THE UNIVERSE. YOU CAN SAY “ UM YEAH NO THANKS NOT FOR ME” AND KEEP ON SCROLLING. Worry about your own shit my guy.

That’s why Rpers stress to tag their shit. and I can say hands down that the things you clutch your pearls about were 100% tagged. just keep moving. use tumblr savior. use that block button.
