So my friend and I were thinking about a headcanon where GOWR characters saw that I draw "anatomically focused" drawings of them. How would they react?
Kratos--would probably be used to people making statues of him? So he would say "Hmph."
Mimir-- "OOH... UHH... THANKS... LASSIE? UHH... Can you give this to... Sigrún?"
Freya--"Oh... Uhm... Pretty uhh... Accurate... Maybe try giving me some clothes?" would blushing red.
Freyr-- "OMG I'M A MUSE??? AM I YOUR MUSE??? oh and BTW you drew it small. Make it bigger" have you seen the statues of him? His uhh sword big.
Tyr--"Perhaps some meditation to... Uhh... Nevermind. But uh... You are good at what you do..." he would give a pat on the shoulder and leave
Heimdall--"You can't get behind the lie of 'anatomy focused' you know you like me. So tonight. Me. You. Himinbjörg. Don't be late."
Thor--"... I should lose some weight huh..." I would probably hug him and say that he doesn't need to.
Sif-- already killed me with her hair
Hildisvini-- "well... I appreciate the uhh imagination... Thank you. But uh... I prefer clothes" then respectfully leave
Also... The Huldra brothers + Lunda seeing the drawings
Brok: DAAAAAMN, SHORTIE. YOU REALLY KNOW HOW TO DRAW!
Lunda: OH AREN'T YOU A SMALL POCKETFUL OF TALENT! GOOD JOB! Hm. Kratos looks good and oh...freya..
Sindri: *vomiting in a corner* good drawing!

bloody [gow headcanon]
prompt: when they see you covered with blood
character(s): kratos, thor, baldur, tyr, freya, freyr & heimdall
wc: 1.7k || tags¬es: gn!reader, no use of y/n or pronouns, fluff, kisses, touches. anger, madness, violence, getting hurt, blood, a little angst (maybe), lover!reader.
enjoy!
KRATOS likely to show a great anger the first time he sees blood on your body, both feeling irritating sense of not being able to protect you and wonder who had enough encourage to touch you – to hurt you. so, his face shows madness coming from pure rage he feels like he felt on his previous life in greek. however, he tries to hide it – decrease it when his palms hold your cheek, making you look at him directly and answer his, “who did this to you?” question which comes like a poison from his mouth – like he is ready to hold blades of chaos and manslaughter everyone cross his path including those hurt you. you only smile as an ensure that you are fine and the blood don’t belong to you. holding his hands, you use them to travel on your body, feeling there is no wound, just blood of others who tried to hurt you. his hazel eyes filled with sparkles of rage soften each moment his hands travel and finally, he takes relaxed breaths, calming down, looking at you with determined and furrowed eye brows, giving a lecture about how you need to be more careful, even calling him whenever there is a treat. he doesn’t speak aloud but his kisses on your face, his hands on your back to push your body to his, hugging you tightly, he shows how much he is afraid to see you hurting. you mean everything to him alongside atreus. he doesn’t waste any time to show you this while he cleans blood with water and cloth as you watch his massive hands work on your body gently.
THOR is so much like kratos. however, unlike him, thor doesn’t mind using violence at all. he makes you tell names of those who hurt you. if you don’t tell, not wanting to see him acting violently even though they deserve it according to him, he seeks for them after he watches you remove your clothes, getting into a bathtub, cleaning yourself and the wounds you have while thor’s eyes study every part of you from head to toe without any shame, believing he has right to do it without asking for a permission and from deep down, you like seeing him watching you, spending his time like this only for you as his father keep asking him. you know he cares for you, so, you let him sit there, hands on knees, kneeling little towards you. his hands even caress your hair from time to time and after you are done, he picks up clothes you choose for you, helping you get dry and wear them. he kisses every wound you have while doing it, then, he nods, ready to leave for killing those who left marks of violence on your precious body. you let him even if you don’t appreciate his way of solving problems but you know he can’t stop ‘till he breaks bonds, cutting flesh, end their lives.
BALDUR sees them even though you literally try every spell to hide them from him, knowing very well that if he sees them, he will turn into the madman, using advantage side of being an invulnerable god, killing everyone who crosses his path which goes into torturing creatures who touched his beloved without caring your health and being. however, when he finally sees them, he takes an oath to show them no mercy, put the fact that no one in all realms can think of touching you in any ways into their stupid brains before killing them. he probably choose his dragon to burn them all, laughing menacingly and feeling anger leaving his body with flames coming from burnt out bodies. he never blames you for hiding them but he says how you should stay by his side day and night so he can protect you because the world is cruel and he can’t endure the idea of seeing you getting hurt and sad. you are the only one who gives him the meaning of life and being, so, he always shows you this through these actions, protecting you with all costs, not minding whether his father is disappointed or not, not when he sees you alive and beside him – inside his arms.
TYR is not likely to act violent against violence, instead, he chooses to take you into a safe zone he knows well, preparing enough medicine to clean wounds properly, giving you your health back, asking you what went wrong and listening carefully with pure attention as you tell the events openly. he helps you calm yourself down, giving you kisses soft as feathers, effective as sun and beautiful as roses. you let yourself getting rid of both wounds and sadness coming with them thanks to his gentle manner, taking you into his arms, covering your body with his massive one and putting kisses on your hair slowly. he is your safe zone, not the place he takes you into, no, he is the meaning of safety and the intoxicated feeling devour you. yes, he gives some advices about being watchful since all realms include danger but he knows you will get stronger after this incident with his help and he just smiles at you, ensure you that he will stay on your side forever, heal every wound you will have even if it means a hundred time.
FREYA choose not to show her anger when you seek for medicine in her cave, showing where bloods coming from after removing clothes, exposing some parts of your body without thinking twice, being in a safe place giving you confidence to do so. she doesn’t spend any time, picks right and efficient magical spells and potion, using them to make you better – to see you well, safe and sound which she needs to see every day and night. she doesn’t like when you pull a wry face because of the pain, no, she prefers you with a strong gesture and full health. she tells you to rest in her cave, not thinking about anything, just reaching your health back while she discovers how you get hurt – who you get violence from, and she doesn’t think for second time as strong devilish magic of her finds their targets, giving them pain – much more than you felt, anger’s sparkles on her eyes, glowing lights on her palms and arms. she listens sounds that her targets make, her anger getting lower. when she finally is done with them, she rushes to see you again and preparing food to eat – good one because you need to recover and she needs to show her concern through intimate moments. also, she is determined to teach you lots of protection magic and spells ‘till your mind is filled with them.
FREYR ‘s face will brighten with concern as he rushes to you, his hands reaching to you, grapping your arms, caressing them from up to down ‘till he holds your hands, asking so many questions in a minute such as whether you are okay or not, need anything from him, how you are covered in such blood. his concerned and calm manner changes into angry and mad one as he asks questions like ‘who did this to you’. he needs to know it – he wonders who can put a finger on you in the realm in which he opened his eyes for the first time, called as home. he is ready to take down those stupid creatures who thought they can hurt you and get away with it. however, he is just a silly because you just go for a hunt and the prey’s blood is all over you, so, you aren’t injured, no, instead, you are good and when you tell him that while holding his cheeks, half-laughing, he blinks so many times you ask if he is okay. when he comes to himself once again, he hugs you, saying how happy he is to see you weren’t hurt. he takes you from the hand into his special room, spending some times – some intimate times with you in there, letting you realize how much you mean to him, “don’t do that again. you have no idea how I can go mad if I see you hurt.” you listen him, then, you say you will not scare him like that again. also, you let him go for a few hunts with you after that day because every time he looks at you with cute eyes, making you become softer and let him travel behind you all the time.
HEIMDALL is surprised and taking back when he sees your face and upper body filled with red blood. firstly, he goes for your mind, reading it to understand how you ended with these much blood. when he sees the fights you had before coming back to asgard – to him, how you got cuts from here to there, nothing serious but enough to make your face darken with pain, his own anger blooms inside his stomach. he is angry because of both how they dared to touch you in the first place and how he failed to show to all realms that no one could touch you since you are beloved one of heimdall, son of odin, god of foresight and lord of the asgard. he notes that he will travel around all realms, making every living beings understand the consequences of hurting and even touching you, heimdall’s beloved one and lover who he can burn all places for. after that, he lets you approach him with a shy expression, knowing he already knows how you ended up like that. you hate to be weak and you hate more when heimdall sees you weak. however, he shows no cockiness as he makes his way to you, putting a hand on your cheek to caress it, saying, “I will make sure each of them suffer enough to remember it ‘till they reach for hell.” with glowing purple eyes filled with proud because of seeing you fight for your life, coming back to him, and rage because of seeing faces of your attackers. he then makes you to follow him into his room he barely uses just for spending time with you in private, removing your clothes, cleans your wounds, reads your thoughts and feeling protective over you. he realizes how his hands go crazy while thinking how it was so easy for those attackers to hurt you while he is afraid to touch you sometimes. he will be their nightmare for sure and he goes for their heads after he spends a quite calm night with you on bed, giving you the love you needs to see after such violent incident.

Chapter Seven
Masterlist
"I hope Freya is okay," Atreus said as he crossed the jungle of Vanaheim.
"She can care for herself," Kratos replied.
"We're still checking on her, though?"
"Her brother's forces are outnumbered. And there is much I owe her."
It is true that Freyr's gang was outnumbered. If Odin decided to send his troops, they would not be able to face it.
Freyr.
It is true that he can be unbearable and annoying at times, but he had always had a good heart. This idiot of a God who smoked strange herbs. You were brought out of your thoughts by noticing that the camp was empty. There was no one. You approached the fire, noticing that a pot was still on the fire and that the bowls filled with food had been left, barely started. They had left in a hurry. This was not normal. Kratos and Atreus also approached the campfire. They were just as puzzled as you were. A crack was heard, making you draw your weapons. You were back to back, carefully observing the surroundings, looking for the person or thing that was watching. Suddenly, the flames grew larger, forcing you all to step back. The flames and smoke dissipated, revealing a Vanir Archer that you knew all too well.
"(Y/N), Kratos, Atreus. A welcome reunion," the archer said, smiling at the trio and putting away his arrow. "Unexpected, but welcome."
"What are you doing here?" you asked, lowering your sword.
"Do you know him?" Atreus asked, puzzled.
"Yes. He's a friend, we're safe," you replied, looking at the archer. "You seem fine."
"You too. How long has it been? A hundred winters, my Lady?"
"Can't be… Is that who I think?" Mimir said as Kratos unhooked him from his belt so he could see the archer. "You shifty bastard! It's almost good to see you again. And for once in the shape of a man… or nearly."
"So that's how they got your head out of your ass," the archer commented, losing his friendly smile. "Maybe now you'll stop being such a half-blind, piss-drunk, oversexed liar. He was more of a pig than I ever was. Even if he calmed down a bit when lady (Y/N) came into his life."
"I do know you," Kratos said, giving the archer a stern look as he circled the campfire.
"Do you not recognize your handiwork?" he asked, revealing a scar on his side.
Realization struck Atreus as he saw the scar. That archer was none other than Hildisvíni. The boy turned to his father, asking him if he remembered the first time they had met Freya in the woods of Midgard, that man was none other than the boar they had hunted. Atreus' joy disappeared as he thought back to the moment he had shot an arrow at him. He looked at Hildisvíni, apologizing for that time. Hildisvíni contained himself from smiling at that.
"Freya's boar," Kratos commented, remaining on guard.
"Her Advisor and friend," Hildisvíni said, taking a step towards Kratos who took a defensive stance. "Counselor to the Vanir. And yes, while exiled at Midgard, was trapped in my boar form."
"No wonder you got hit by an arrow," you commented, chuckling and approaching Hildisvíni. "And only one."
"Haha. It's true that I had to run away from several," he replied, laughing a little before looking at Atreus. "And you succeeded that time."
"At my command," Kratos replied.
"No. My Arrow. My mistake," Atreus replied.
"Forgotten," Hildisvíni reassured before heading towards the camp exit with the trio. "Vanaheim needs our help more than ever. Even Mimir's. Come."
"Where is Freya? She came here to help her brother," Kratos said perplexed by the absence of Freyr and his men.
"She leads the search party for Freyr and Byggir. They've been captured by the Einherja," Hildisvíni explained.
"How'd that happen?" Mimir asked surprised.
"An ambush. Their presence has intensified since you last visit. To make matters worse, the Celestial Wolves haven't seen in days or at least I assume. Not easy, tracking time woth no moon in the sky."
You felt your heart collapse and your stomach tighten upon hearing the news. The Wolves had stopped their endless races? The moon had disappeared? A blow from Odin, you were sure. How had he managed to steal the moon? You were taken out of your thoughts when Hildisvíni took another path, probably to go find Freya while the three of you took care of going to see Skoll and Hati.
The jungle of Vanaheim was invaded by creatures who tried to stop you, without success. Once arrived in Skoll and Hati's den, Kratos, Atreus, Mimir and you noticed that the two Wolves were sleeping, pressed against each other. You knelt down in front of them. Now that the moon was absent, they were no longer going to join the sky. There was only one thing left for you to do, put the moon back in its place, much to Mimir's dismay. Kratos indicated that the neighboring village housed a warrior camp. A real fortress to hide their loot. As you followed the father and son, you couldn't help but be worried. Your premonition was happening. The boy was talking about a fresco. So it was written? Did Tyr know this was going to happen? What was your role in all this? Did you even have a role in all this?
Tyr.
Why did he leave so many questions unanswered?
You pulled yourself together when you heard Einherjars. They were guarding the entrance to the village. You focused on the battle that followed. Killing the enemies with the help of Kratos and Atreus. Once you entered the abandoned village, all three were greeted by a female Einherjar who teleported further into the village, guiding you to the abandoned fortress. Surprisingly, there were no Einherjars, nor any other enemies. The box containing the moon was placed prominently in the middle of the ruined room. It was too prominent.
"This is DEFINITELY an ambush," Atreus commented.
"Yes," Kratos replied, drawing his axe.
"They're coming," you said, getting into position.
Several Einherjar appeared, determined to stop the trio from reaching the box. These were the strongest warriors Odin had sent. He was determined to keep the moon sealed. Why? To prevent Ragnarök? To stop Hati from devouring the moon? Why?
Your questions were abruptly interrupted by the feeling of an Einherjar grabbing you from behind, his hand clamped over your mouth. You struggled, trying to free yourself from the grip of the Einherjar who was trying to forcefully pull you out of the fortress.
"Daughter!!" Mimir cried out as he saw you in a bad position.
Kratos quickly turned to you. He wasted no time. He summoned Draupnir, throwing it at the Einherjar man's head. He collapsed to the ground, dragging you down with him. Atreus rushed to your side, pushing the corpse before helping you sit up.
"Are you okay?" Atreus asked worriedly as you coughed.
"Yes…," you said between coughs, perplexed by what the enemy had just done. "I'm fine… I… I didn't expect this."
"What about me!" Mimir exclaimed in panic. "Are you sure you're okay? Nothing broken? Brother! Give him a healing stone!"
"I'm fine, Father," you said, standing up as Kratos unhooked your head from his belt so he could see you. "See? I'm fine. No need to panic."
"That bastard Einherjar tried to kidnap you. Of course I'm panicking!" Mimir exclaimed.
"Why did he do that?" Atreus asked in puzzlement.
"If one tried that, others will try to kidnap you too," Kratos said sternly, hooking Mimir back onto his belt. "Why? Do you know something we don't?"
"What would I know? I don't know any more than all of you. But… if Odin got wind that I came out of hiding…"
"Shit!" Mimir exclaimed. "That old fogey. He can't leave you alone. Forgive me, (Y/N)… it's my fault. Uh… I completely failed in my role as a father and protector. I'm so sorry…"
"What's this story?" Kratos asked, looking at you sternly.
"It's… complicated… and besides, we don't have time to discuss this. The moon is our priority," you said, looking towards the box containing the moon.
"She's right," Atreus said. "We have to hurry."
"This story isn't over," Kratos said, looking at you sternly.
You nodded slightly before picking up your sword. That old fogey Odin. He was still as obsessed with you as ever. You couldn't remember a day when Odin hadn't sent his stupid ravens to spy on you or him, who was trying to coax you. You felt a shiver of disgust run through you and your stomach twist.
"Ready to put the moon back where it belongs?" Atreus asked, making you come out of your thoughts and heading towards the box. "Okay, yeah. That's a weird thing to say…"
You shook your head, patting your cheeks. You had to stay focused. You took a deep breath before following Kratos and Atreus to the box containing the moon. But, before either of you could retrieve the box, the Einherjar warrior appeared, grabbing the box before teleporting away. Atreus quickly started to pursue the warrior, forcing you and Kratos to do the same. But the three of you had run into a second ambush. You couldn't help but curse as you fought the Einherjars. Some of the warriors focused more on you. No matter how much magic and techniques you used, there were three of them against you. Atreus and Kratos came to your aid, helping you eliminate the last enemies.
"She's gona again! Hurry, we gotta get accross!" Atreus shouted as he saw the warrior flee.
The chase was long and exhausting. But in the end, after sending all the enemies back to Helheim or Valhalla, you finally managed to retrieve the box containing the moon.
"It's cold," Atreus said as he took the box. "Is this…? It's from Helheim. Heimdall must've Grabbed this while I freed Garm. I was there. But… I… I didn't know."
"Heimdall is deceitful, you couldn't have done anything if you had known about Odin's plans," you replied to Atreus.
"And now you fight to undo the damage. Your guilt is misplaced," Kratos reassured as he placed his hand on his son's shoulder.
"Yeah… no, you're right," the teenager replied.
"We can return to the den through here. They will pursue. You two, keep your guard up."
Now that the moon was in your hands, the three of you headed back to Sköll and Hati's den to give them the moon back. But despite this good news, you still had butterflies in your stomach. And Atreus, it wasn't any better.
"But what if, by doing all this… what is we're Walking straight into Ragnarök?" he asked nervously. "Isn't there any way to avoir fate? Your fate? What if we can't stop you from-"
"Would you turn upur back on the wolves? On this realm?" Kratos asked as he arrived at the wolves' den. "Remember our agreement."
You looked at the father and son perplexed. What were they talking about? Although, their motivation to avoid Ragnarök was none of your business. Even you didn't want Ragnarök to happen.
Sköll and Hati were still sleeping against each other. Atreus looked at you and Kratos before taking the box out of its pouch, placing it on the ground, in front of the Celestial wolves. He drew his knife, swallowing before taking a deep breath before sticking it in the box. The moment the box was broken, the wolves woke up. Hati growled and salivated as he saw the moon come out of the box. The moon rose into the air. The sky turned red, the surroundings darkened. The moon had placed itself in front of the Sun, forming an eclipse.
Like in your dream.
Like on the fresco that Atreus and Kratos had seen.
You saw Sköll and Hati approach the edge of the cliff, watching the eclipse carefully. Atreus unhooked his bow and took an arrow, aiming at the moon. The boy felt doubt invade him. He lowered his arrow, watching his father panic.
"If I do this…"
"Fate only binds you if you let it," Kratos said, placing his hand on Atreus' shoulder, trying to reassure him. "Do what is necessary. Not because is written."
Atreus took a deep breath, nodding slightly. He cocked his arrow again, aiming at the moon before firing his arrow. Seeing the arrow go, Sköll wasted no time in chasing the arrow, splitting the sky. The Sun began to flee from the wolf, giving way to night. You placed your hand on the teenager's shoulder.
"Good choice, little boy," you said, patting his shoulder.
Atreus gave you a weak smile. Hati walked past the group, returning to his den for bed. Not without leaving a gift, as a thank you.
"Well… hell of a gift," you commented, observing the object Kratos picked up.
"Do you know what this is for?" Kratos asked, looking at you.
"Oh. That. It just helps you control the day," you replied, shrugging. "If you use it, you can ask Hati to chase the moon or Sköll to chase the Sun."
"Say it more casually, daughter," Mimir said with a sigh. "Well, now that we've put the moon back in its place, how about we go back to Hildisvíni?"
"Good idea," you said as you stretched before setting off towards Freyr's camp with the father and son. "Freyr still needs to be saved."
"Let's not hang around," Kratos said as he took the lead of the group.
The group made it back to Freyr's camp without too much difficulty. Once back at the camp, the three of you were greeted by Freya and Hildisvíni. The Vanir Goddess was relieved to see you again and in one piece.
"Kratos, Atreus, (Y/N). That eclipse was your doing, I take it?" she asked as she approached Kratos, holding out her hand, which the Spartan shook. "Thank you for coming. Byggir used the diversion to escape."
"What about your brother?" Atreus asked.
"We know where they're holding him now. Beyla's already prepped the explosives. If you're with me, we can leave as soon as you're ready. (Y/N), are you coming with me?" Freya asked as she looked you over.
"Yes," you said, nodding slightly.
"Daughter. I… I don't think that's a good idea," Mimir said. "Don't forget that the Einherjar are after you."
"What happened?" Freya asked as she looked you over puzzled.
"Some Einherjar tried to kidnap her," Kratos said.
"What?!" Freya exclaimed in surprise before quickly approaching you to examine you. "Are you okay?"
"Yes, yes," you said, removing Freya's hands from your shoulders. "Nothing more than scratches from the fights."
"It would be best if you stayed at camp, Lady (Y/N)," Hildisvíni said as she approached. "If the other Einherjar try to kidnap you in the middle of a battle, we won't be coming to help you."
"So what? I should stay away?" you asked annoyed.
"No," Freya said as she placed her hand on your shoulder. "You're going back to Sindri's house. We trust you and we know you can defend yourself, but… we can't risk you getting kidnapped while we're helping Freyr. If anything happens to you and you're taken by force to Asgard…"
You sighed, frustrated, nodding slightly. Freya sighed, taking your hands in hers, telling you that you had already helped a lot by retrieving the moon with Kratos and Atreus and that she was very grateful to you, but she didn't want to risk your safety. You nodded slightly before leaving the group to head towards the door leading to Yggdrasil. You went through the door, arriving in front of Sindri's house. You went to lie down on the bench, putting your arm over your eyes.
The moon that was stolen.
The eclipse that took place.
Your premonitory dream that happened.
The Einherjars who are determined to kidnap you.
This was all really strange.
What could Odin have in mind?
Why did he want to retrieve a strange mask?
Did he want Ragnarök to happen?
You lay on your side, your gaze lost in space. Now that your premonitory dream had taken place, what was going to happen? It seemed that Ragnarök was coming soon. Was it inevitable? What was your role in all this? Should you participate in Ragnarök? Should you stay behind? If your Tyr was still the same, what would he have told you? What would he have advised you to do? You sat down, staring at the ground. You were lost. Tyr was no longer the Tyr you had known. The boy had set off the most disastrous events, even though he seemed to realize that he had done things he shouldn't have done and was trying to make up for it by fixing his mistakes.
"Is everything okay, (Y/N)? Where are Kratos and the others?"
You looked towards the man you were thinking of: Tyr. Your husband looked at you worriedly as he sat down next to you. You straightened up, sitting down as well.
"They're busy saving Freyr. He and a Light Elf were kidnapped by Einherjars," you explained, crossing your legs in a lotus position. "Freya told me to come back here. The… the Einherjars… tried to kidnap me."
"What?! On Odin's orders?" Tyr exclaimed surprised.
"It's quite possible," you said with a sigh. "I helped Kratos and the little boy put the moon back in the sky, Sköll and Hati have resumed their hunt."
"That's… good news," Tyr said.
"You don't seem very convinced," you said, looking at him out of the corner of your eye.
"No! No, it's a good thing the Celestial Wolves have resumed their hunt. But… if Odin is trying to bring you back to Asgard… that's not good."
"Hmm. That old fogey has always been like that… When he's obsessed with something, he has to have it at all costs," you said, rubbing your hands together, looking at Tyr out of the corner of your eye. "But… you seem to know a lot about this mask he's looking for. How come?"
"Some Giants who saw it in their visions told me about it. And Odin was already obsessed with this mask for a long time," Tyr explained. "As I said, he imprisoned and tortured me for this mask."
"So why did you never tell me about this mask?"
"(Y/N)… I know Odin's obsession with you and this mask. I only wanted to protect you. To preserve you from Odin's perversion towards you. He took your wings, he deprived you of me, of your parents, of the Valkyries. Do you really blame me for wanting to protect you?"
"I blame you for not wanting to fight anymore," you said, looking at him sternly. "You just hide in your closet like a scared child. You don't fight for what you believe in anymore. I know I feel unfair. You've just been freed and you're being asked to take part in a war, but… We need you. Everyone needs you. I need you. I need the man I respect and love to come back and lead us like he always did. I need that man. That God of War who fights for what's right. I never asked you to fight for me. Fight for all these people who believe in you."
"You… believe in me? Even though I was such a coward?"
You sighed, getting up from the bench, moving a little away from him.
"I… I don't know if I can believe in you. I… I need proof of your good faith," you said before turning to him. "You can't hide in a closet anymore and hope that others will take care of the problems without you having to act. We need you, the God of War of his Nine Realms."
Tyr nodded slightly, getting up from the bench to approach you. You felt your stomach twist when he placed his hand on your cheek, his thumb caressing your cheekbone.
That unpleasant feeling again.
You swallowed hard, getting ready to speak when the door to Yggdrasil opened to reveal Freya helping a struggling Freyr walk. Seeing them, you quickly moved away from Tyr to help Freya carry her brother inside the house.
"Little Valkyrie," Freyr greeted, a smile on his lips despite the pain that was pulling at him. "I'm glad to see you again."
"Glad to see you're still alive," you said, laughing slightly. "Where are Kratos and Atreus?"
"They won't be long. They're safe," Freya said, setting Freyr down on the chair. "(Y/N), can you heal him while I prepare some herbs?"
"Okay."
Freya thanked you, going to the room containing the herbs. You tended to Freyr, lifting his top to see his injuries. Luckily, he wasn't seriously injured. You used the techniques Eir had taught you. Freyr grumbled a little, but he didn't have time to say anything before you gave him a stern look that silenced him.
"You're very lucky," you said as you put his top back on properly. "Just a cracked rib. You have a chance that a dead man would love to have."
"I've always been lucky, little Valkyrie," he said with a chuckle before holding his sore side.
"A chance that's a poise," you said as Freya came to sit next to her brother, giving him a glass filled with water mixed with several kinds of herbs.
"Here Freyr. Drink and let the herbs work."
Freyr took the glass, drinking the contents. You sighed as Freyr began to ramble and tell you how much he missed you and Freya. That the last time he saw you, you were just a little girl he carried on his shoulders to tour Vanaheim. Especially the time he took you with him, without telling your parents and the Valkyries, to take you to Alfheim to introduce you to the Elves and show you around the Kingdom. You couldn't help but smile slightly when he reminded you of this memory.
When you were six, Freyr had decided, without consulting Sigrun and Mimir, to take you with him to go to Alfheim. He had introduced you to the Dark Elves and the Light Elves. He had shown you the sanctuary and the famous light of Alfheim. That day had been one of the most fun of your life, even if you hadn't understood before why your parents had been so upset when you had returned to Asgard with a Freyr all happy to have been the nicest uncle in the Nine Realms for taking you to see Alfheim. It was that time that you had met the Dark Elf Beyla and the Light Elf Byggvir.
"Is Byggvir okay?" you asked looking towards Freya.
"Yes, he wasn't hurt and he found Beyla."
"I'm happy for them. At least Beyla found her husband…"
Freya put her hand on your shoulder, glancing at Tyr who went back into his closet.
"You still don't trust him?" Freya asked quietly.
"He… he really makes me uncomfortable," you said quietly. "My gut tells me to stay away from him."
"Did he try anything?"
"Once… but he saw that I didn't like it and he stopped. That Tyr… he's not my Tyr… I… I don't know what Odin did to him to break him, but… there's something wrong. Everything I tell him, I feel like it doesn't affect him. That man… he's not my husband."
"Husband?!" Freyr exclaimed loudly, looking at you as if a second head had just grown on your shoulder. "You… You're married?!"
"Yes."
"Who?! When?!"
"Hmm… Tyr is… Tyr is my husband, Freyr. We've been married for a long time," you answered uncomfortably.
"Tyr?!" Freyr exclaimed in surprise. "Ooooh by the Norns…"
"Try to rest, Yngvi. Let the herbs work," Freya said, placing her hand on her brother's shoulder.
"Oh, they work. Oh they, they work very well. 'Cause you make things better."
As Freyr rambled on about the herbs, Kratos and Atreus entered the house. Without a word, the Spartan walked over to the table, setting Mimir down on it before setting down the Gjallarhorn. You approached the table, looking at the object with a stern look. If Kratos was in possession of this object, it only meant one thing.
Heimdall was dead.
And now that they had the Gjallarhorn in their possession, Odin was at a severe disadvantage. Asgard would no longer be able to rally the Aesir for Ragnarök.
"You really did it," you said, looking at Kratos.
"How in all the Nine Realms did you manage to kill Heimdall?" Freyr asked, a small smile on his face as he leaned on the table and glared at the Greek God of War.
"I knew ou spear would do the trick," Brok exclaimed loudly. "Well happy Ragnarök, everybody! Let's drink!"
"Is it true? Heimdall's dead? I can't Believe it," Tyr said bitterly as he walked over to the fireplace, a dark look on his face. "There's no stopping it now. Odin swore peace only so long as you spilled no more Aesir Blood."
"I refused that deal," Kratos replied.
“Yet he honored it. But now…”
“But what?” Freya asked, looking at Tyr irritated. "You and I know better than anyone that Odin's promises never last. We have the advantage now. It's time to bring him down."
"No," Kratos said firmly, attracting the attention of Freya who looked at him surprised.
“None of you understand what's coming,” Tyr said. "Odin's vengeance will be his only concern."
"Not his only concern," Atreus said, drawing everyone's attention to himself. "The Mask. Whatever knowledge it unlocks that's what Odin wants more than anything. If I go to Asgard, I can use-"
“Go back?” Kratos said sternly, turning to his son. “Go back?”
"Look… If I can finish what I started there, awaken the Mask, get answers… maybe that's our way outta this. But I've gotta go soon, before they figure out what's happened."
"Atreus… you are home," Kratos said as he approached his son. "Don't ask me to put you at risk again."
"He's at risk where he stant, Kratos," Tyr said. "We all are."
"Aything we do, r don' d, is Dangerous right now," Atreus said as he followed his father who had gone to the fireplace. "But Odin needs me. He trusts me. I'll be safe there."
Kratos, like almost everyone else in the house, wasn't really convinced. Even you weren't convinced. All of this left a bitter taste in your mouth. Atreus turned to Mimir, asking him if from a "strategic point of view" he was wrong. The head sighed, admitting that it didn't like it too much, but that it was the best thing to do. Dividing Odin's attention would buy time. Tyr continued, saying that they would also have eyes in the enemy's holy sanctuary.
"He's still a child," you thought, tapping your finger on the table. "But… if there is truly a source of infinite knowledge… Odin can't have this."
"And once Odin has what he needs form you-," Mimir said before being interrupted by Atreus.
"Then I lose my leverage. I get it. I'll be smart," he said before turning to his father. "Father. I can do this."
Kratos sighed, turning to Atreus. The God of War placed his hand on his son's shoulder, telling him not to forget their promise. Atreus smiled, placing his hand on his father's forearm, nodding slightly, telling him the same thing. After that, Atreus walked away, heading towards the door to leave Sindri's home.
You sighed, grabbing the tankard from Freyr's hand to drink its contents in one gulp. All this was giving you a headache. Sending a kid to Asgard, to Odin no less. All this was beyond you. Was it really the only solution? But if it would end Odin's reign. You sighed, running your hands over your face when you saw Tyr discreetly return to his closet. As always, since his release, he was going to lock himself in that damn closet. You sighed, placing the glass on the table before going to your makeshift room. You settled down on this uncomfortable bed, leaning your back against the wall.
Gods, you had had enough of this situation.
You just wanted to go back to isolate yourself in your house and sleep in your bed. You wanted to take a bath and relax. You were brought back to earth by Freya. The Goddess had just entered the room, closing the door behind her before coming to sit next to you. Neither of you spoke. A rather awkward silence. You looked towards the window, observing the strange mushrooms that were wandering on the branches of Yggdrasil.
"How are you feeling?" Freya asked, finally breaking the silence.
You remained silent, not knowing how to answer this question.
How were you?
It had been a long time since anyone had asked this question.
"I don't know, Vanadís…"
"I know what you feel. Even if… you feel like you're alone in the world. That no one can understand your pain. Believe me, most of the people here can understand you. I understand you," he said looking at you, taking your hands in his. "(Y/N). You're not alone anymore. We're here for you. But I just want to know one thing, when did you and Tyr get married?"
You sighed as you looked at Freya a little bit confused by her question.
"Why are you interested in this story? It's in the past."
"It must be said that Tyr had never shown any interest in marrying him. And he was only traveling before Odin captured him. And you too, you had never looked at men. You were just training with my sisters and learning everything Mimir could teach you. You even said that you saw no interest in marriage."
"It must be believed that people change with time."
"Yes, it must be believed."
You sighed, taking your hands back to run them over your face.
"We got married over a hundred winters ago. Tyr helped me… he saved me when I was at rock bottom. I… I can see that he's also at rock bottom, but… he does things he would never do in normal times. Being so terrified of Odin, letting a child go to Asgard for a chimera… And he's always hiding in that damn closet. I've tried to get in there, you know. I wanted to confront him. But the door was locked. I tried several times, but every month, at a certain precise moment, the door is locked."
"Maybe he wants to… handle things his way," Freya tried to reassure.
"I don't know. I don't recognize him at all anymore. To be honest. I feel like I have an imposter in front of me."
Freya sighed before standing up to pour water into a glass before putting herbs in it. You watched her do it when she handed you the glass of water.
"It's just like last time. It'll relax you and help you rest. These last few days have been quite stressful."
"Thanks," you said as you took the glass.
"Try to rest. We're going to need all our strength soon."
After that, Freya left the room, leaving you alone. You swirled the water in the glass before drinking it in one go. You lay down on your makeshift bed, staring at the ceiling, letting the herbs take effect. You felt your muscles relax, your heartbeat became calm and regular. You closed your eyes, letting sleep take you.
You were woken up the next day, with a bang, by Brok who pounded on your door, announcing that the little boy had returned. You got up quickly upon hearing the news. Atreus had returned? Had he succeeded? You came out of your room to see the teenager was there, that he was fine and that above all, he had the mask with him.
The mask was real.
"I got the mask back," Atreus announced, smiling and showing the mask he had in his hands.
“You’re back!” Tyr said as he finally left his closet. “Are you okay?”
"I'm fine. I just hope unlocking this thing was Worth the cost," said Atreus looking at the mask in question.
“You have it!” Tyr exclaimed when he saw the mask the boy was holding in his hands. “What did it show you?”
"I didn't get to use it. They found out about Heimdall. I had to run. But least Odin can't use it either!"
"But… if you didn't get any answers form the mask… all you've done is steal Odin's greatest treasure. Just after your father"s killed his most loyal ally."
“So much the better,” you said, approaching Atreus. “Odin stole a lot of things from us. It’s only fair. After everything he’s done to us.”
"(Y/N)), do you realize? None of us are safe. Even here,” Tyr growled.
“So we have no choice,” said Freya determined. "We find Surtr, sound Gjallarhon, and bring Odin to justice. Now."
"You'd incinerate every soul in Asgard and call it self-defense?" Tyr asked sternly.
“Does he ever suggest plans or just crap on everyone else’s?” Freyr asked, giving Tyr a perplexed look.
“The obvious plan is staring you in the face!” Tyr growled. "We don't need Odin to use this. We can slip into Asgard and do it ourselves, right Under his nose."
"What are you talking about?" you asked, shooting Tyr a murderous glare. "There's no way to get into Asgard without someone noticing."
"(Y/N)'s right," Sindri said.
"They got the nig horn, don't they," Brok replied.
"Oh, so you expect them to SNEAK into Asgard, blowing a horn that souns across all the realms?" Sindri asked, perplexed by this shaky plan.
"I expect you to bite my blue buttcheek!"
"Please. Just… think about it."
"This is ridiculous," you said under your breath. "We might as well head to the great hall and surrender to Odin. It will be exactly the same.”
“That’s enough!” Kratos said in his authoritative voice before putting Mimir on the table to take the mask. "This mask… the easy answers that it promises. I know this… shortcuts always have a price. Atreus, you have carried it. What do you think?"
Atreus sighed, taking the mask back in his hands.
“At worse, we'll have something Odin wants as leverage,” he said, looking at the mask. "At best, if it really gives us all the answers, then we can make our own path… and nobody has to die."
"Grand. Now all we need's a way to Asgard," Mimir said.
"I… I know I've been a burden to you all…," Tyr said as he stood up from his seat, drawing everyone's attention to him. "I know you've questioned why you even pulled me out of that hole. I have too. But it's clear now."
Tyr walked around the table, approaching Kratos.
"This is what I'm needed for. This is my purpose. One last time," he continued, stopping near the Spartan. "I will pick up my spear and I will lead us to Asgard."
You couldn't help but look at your husband, surprised by what he had just said. Even Freyr and Freya were surprised by his behavior. At one point, he wanted to avoid a war at all costs and now, he wanted to lead you all to Asgard and take up arms? What was wrong with him anyway? Brok snorted, clearly also irritated by the attitude of the Norwegian God of War.
"'Scuce me… but if you got a way to Asgard, where's that idea been this whole fuckin' while?" Brok asked angrily and approached Tyr
Brok wasn't wrong. If Tyr knew all this time how to enter Asgard, why had he kept it a secret?
"You… withheld Asgard?" Kratos asked between his teeth, irritated by this news.
"Why did you hide such important information?!" you exclaimed angrily.
"He would have gotten us all killed. (Y/N). I only thought about your safety. And we needed to give Loki time to find his destiny. Here it is!" Tyr explained as he took the mask. "It's all led to this."
"Bullshit," you said between your teeth and walked away.
No matter what Tyr said and no matter what he did, you couldn't believe a single word he said. You leaned against the wall, the group continuing to discuss their invasion of Asgard. You and Brok seemed to be the only ones perplexed by Tyr's behavior. When the discussion was over, Tyr walked away from the group, still holding the mask in his hand, which didn't please Brok who hurried to stop him.
"Slow down, y'damn spruce," he said as he got in Tyr's way. "I still want to hear the details on this, uh, new way to Asgard you got. Spill it!"
"It's an ancient path. We can't reach it from here," Tyr quickly replied as he tried to reach his room, but Brok quickly got back in front of him, stopping him from going any further.
"Where then?"
"Let me collect my things and I'll show you."
"Y'aint got no things! And where you going with that mask?' Brok exclaimed angrily before slapping Tyr's hand, making the mask fall further away.
"Brok-"
"That belongs to the kid, he earned it! All you done was make passable dirt-soup."
"Brok, it's okay," said Atreus, quickly putting himself between the Giant and the dwarf, seeing that the situation was getting worse.
"No it ain't. This ain't righ. All the piece ain't welding to getther true. Like, what's with him callin' you "Loki" anyway? You know that ain't his name! Hey! I'm talkin' to you!"
Tyr had moved away from Brok, turning his back on him, but the blue dwarf was determined to have answers. Everyone's attention was on Brok and Tyr, also waiting for the explanations of the Norwegian God of War. But before anyone could react, Tyr pulled out a dagger, stabbing Brok in the chest.
"DO YOU NEVER SHUT UP?!!"
Everyone watched the scene shocked by what had just happened. No one reacted because of the shock. Suddenly, Tyr's appearance changed, revealing Odin.
Sindri screamed his brother's name, rushing to him. Odin had taken advantage of Atreus' surprise to take him hostage, holding the knife to his throat while Freya, Kratos and Freyr had drawn their weapons, slowly advancing towards the Allfather.
You stood there, completely paralyzed and unable to think properly. Your ears were ringing, your heart was beating at an incredible speed, your hands were shaking.
Brok was bleeding out.
Odin was ordering Freyr to give him the mask.
Kratos was ordering Odin to free his son.
Freya was saying she was going to kill her former husband with her own hands.
Sindri was begging Freya or you to come to Brok's aid.
You could only watch all this without being able to move a single muscle in your body.
"Sorry our time together is up, dear (Y/N)," Odin said, smiling slyly at you.
You felt your stomach turn at his words.
This guy was him all along. In Alfheim, you didn't save Tyr. You had only brought Odin to this house all this time.
You had not recovered your husband.
You saw Freya with her back to Odin, rushing to Brok to try to save him. You saw Freyr throw the mask at Odin. But the mask passed over the Allfather. You heard Kratos shout something to Atreus. The teenager transformed into a wolf, biting Odin's arm which sent him flying against the wall. Kratos rushed to his son while Odin took advantage of the chaos to pick up his precious mask, opening the closet door to let out his ravens which began to circle around him.
"Too bad, son," Odin said as he looked at Atreus. "Looks like war after all."
Before he could disappear, Kratos threw Draupnir, managing to snatch the mask from his hands as Odin escaped.
You stood there completely paralyzed. You couldn't react. You just stood there, watching Brok die in Sindri's arms before Sindri disappeared with him.
All this time, you had been in Odin's company.
All the times he tried to get close to you.
All the times you felt bad in his presence.
All the times.
Odin had just made fun of you.
One more time.
He had managed to trick you.

any thoughts on tyr x freyr?
I actually really like this ship! Especially given that Tyr instantly defended Freyr durning the Loksenna. So those two can be interpreted as having some sort of relationship 👀
Though overall I think they work well as either a romantic pairing or a brotp. Especially since they are completely opposites of eachother, with Tyr being a war god while Freyr is the god of fertility and seemingly having more of pacifist personality.
Opposites do attract afterall :D

PREVIOUS | NEXT — SERIES TAGLIST
pairing: heimdall x gn!reader
summary: days have passed since the kiss you shared with heimdall, and while you try to figure out what it means for your relationship— the group prepares for war.. and suffers a massive loss.
notes: this chapter is just straight angst. sorry in advance but it was a necessary evil.... ignore any plot holes please..... and also please let me know if you want to be tagged in this series! my taglist is really old and im sure ppl have lost interest, so let me know if you want to be removed as well.
you awoke from your sleep with a jolt. you had never gotten used to the rough feeling of wood pressed against your skin as you slept. even if it was the same material you usually slept on while you were home in midgard, your circumstances were different. back then, you didn't have to worry about a war with one of the most powerful gods in the realms. you only had to worry about what to make for dinner. now, you had much more to think about. including your strange relationship with the god of foresight, heimdall.
a part of you still regretted taking his wrist in your hand that day. it still wasn't that long ago, but you wondered how different things would be now if you hadn't.
the atmosphere was tense in the house. you swore there had been maybe 20 words spoken between everyone. people looked over their shoulder, wary of heimdall's every move. in a way, you couldn't blame them. after all, he was odin's son. the son of the man who had ruined their entire lives, and he had yet to state his side. but he wasn't fighting, either. ever since he had arrived.. you noticed that. he never fought the idea of being used as leverage. after your conversation. you supposed you understood why.
ratatoskr had since found out of heimdall's presence on his tree, and he was less than happy about it. but still, he had remained polite despite his grievances. you did notice how he seemed to be around less, though. you couldn't help but to assume that was due to heimdall.
freyr hadn't gotten any used to him being around, and you didn't think he ever would. he was quieter— less himself. you hated seeing him that way.. but the vote you had made days prior was a fair one. you thought he had trouble seeing him as anything but a member of the family who burned him. he couldn't even see him as leverage.
your father jumped into gear the morning after. he was completely prepared to do whatever was necessary to protect atreus.. and yourself, by extension. you knew little of his time in his homeland. it was something he didn't speak of much, but you did know he killed gods there. he seemed ready to have to do it again, but not at all eager about it.
"none of us are safe, even here." tyr murmured from where he sat at the end of of the table. it was far too small for him, and his knees hit at the wood on the edges, but it was almost a funny sight. "so we have no choice." freya responded simply. "we find surtr, sound gjallarhorn, and bring odin to justice. now."
you glanced uncomfortably over your shoulder at heimdall, who stared blankly at the group from where he stood, leaning against the wall. you watched as his hand fell to the horn on his hip.
"you'd incinerate every soul in asgard and call it self defense?"
"does he ever suggest plans or just crap on everyone elses?" freyr murmured, leaning back against the table in the kitchen.
"the obvious plan is staring you in the face," tyr ignored him, "we don't need odin to use this. we can slip into asgard and do it ourselves, right under his nose. we gain the knowledge we need to shatter his prophecy of war once and for all."
"except— begging your pardon— you don't have a way into asgard." sindri replied.
"they got the big horn, don't they?" brok called out from their working space.
"oh, so you expect them to sneak into asgard blowing a horn that sounds across all the realms?"
"i expect you to bite my blue buttcheek!"
"please. just.. think about it." tyr said.
you watched as atreus sat the mask down on the table. you had let him look at it. he had read the runes, inspected the design.. but nothing seemed to make sense outside of that crack you had told him about that odin had in his basement. your father sat mimir down next to it.
"this mask," he started, picking it up. "the easy answers that it promises. i know this.. shortcuts always have a price."
he turned his focus to you, brows knitted together. this expression that he wore wasn't one you saw often. he was worried. "you have carried it. what do you think?" he asked.
you let out a breath. "i don't know. at best.. it's a chance." you said with a shrug of your shoulders. you didn't know what it was or what it entailed, but you knew it was important to odin. "if nothing else, it's leverage. we have something he wants. if it really gives us all the answers, maybe no one has to die."
"grand. now all we need's a way to asgard." mimir replied simply.
you watched as your father's gaze shifted to tyr, and hesitantly, so did yours. "i know i've been a burden to you all," he started, readjusting himself in the seat, "i know you've questioned why you even pulled me out of that hole. i have too."
he stood, walking around the table. something changed in his stride. you wondered where his sudden boost of confidence seemed to come from. but maybe this was what you needed. "i have too. but it's clear now. this is what i'm needed for. this is my purpose. one last time. i will pick up my spear and.. i will lead us to asgard."
"'scuse me, but if you got a way to asgard, where's that idea been this whole fuckin' while?" brok asked.
"that's.. rather a fair question, brother."
"you.. withheld asgard?" your father asked, pushing himself to his feet. something in his eyes shifted. anger. you recognized that look all too well.
"you would've gotten us all killed. and we needed to give the champion time to find their destiny. here it is." tyr picked up the mask off the table, and you shrunk into yourself. you hated being called the champion. it didn't feel like you, really.
"it's all led to this."
"if we can get inside, i'm going after odin." freya said.
"i will not stop you. we can do both."
"spot on, brother. if the mask doesn't give us an out, we'll still have the drop on him."
"works for me." freyr spoke through his food.
"let's do it, then."
"and quickly, before he sees us coming."
"he does hate surprises."
you looked back over at heimdall, who had silently gotten much closer to you while you were involved in the conversation. he stood a foot or so behind you, brows knitted together. "heimdall," you started, cutting off anyone else from speaking before they even could. "is there.. another way into asgard?"
he looked over at you, then back at tyr. his eyes were filled with something else, something you couldn't exactly pinpoint.
"no." he replied after a pause, staring at the taller god. the rest of the group only stared at him.
"i still wanna hear the details on this, uh, new way to asgard you got. spill it!" brok said after a moment. if anyone knew another way to asgard out of everyone in the room, it would've been heimdall. he wouldn't have lied, would he? was that something he would do to you after everything that happened the other night? you decided not to think about it.
"it's an ancient path. we can't reach it from here." tyr said, moving around brok to continue walking.
"where then?" he pushed, following after him quickly.
"let me collect my things and i'll show you." tyr replied frustratedly. you furrowed your eyebrows together. brok was right. something about this just.. wasn't making sense.
"you ain't got no things. and where you goin' with that mask?" he smacked it out of tyr's hand, and you watched as it went flying. "that belongs to y/n, they earned it! all you done was make passable dirt soup!"
"brok, it's okay." you muttered in an attempt to de-escalate whatever you were watching unfold. "no, it ain't." he responds without missing a beat. "this ain't right. all the pieces ain't weldin' together true. like, what's with him calling you, 'loki,' anyway?" brok asked, turning his gaze to atreus.
now that he had mentioned it.. you had never heard tyr call him atreus. he had only called him loki. the name your mother gave for him to the giants. no one had ever called him loki.
"you know that ain't his name! hey, i'm talkin' to you!"
"do you NEVER shut up?"
you watched as tyr shifted into someone else. odin. his knife dug into brok, completely tearing through his clothing and diving into his skin. the weapon was covered in his blood, and you could only watched as he fell to the floor. "brok!" sindri called, kneeling at his side.
behind you, you could feel heimdall drawing his weapon. his eyes lingered on the scene before him. this is what odin did to people. this is what he would've done to him, had he stayed.
in your state of shock, odin wrapped an arm around your shoulders, the knife that was just used to stab brok held at the skin of your neck. he pulled you backwards, and even though you resisted, you knew it was ultimately no good. would you die here? would brok?
"of all the things.." odin murmured.
"odin." your father said, anger filling his eyes.
"let go and face me!" freya called, sword held in her hand. freyr stood at her side, and atreus at the other. heimdall took a place by your father. despite the risk of your life ending, you stared at him. he was facing his father. he had his sword drawn, his brows furrowed together. this was an expression you had never seen on his face before. anger.
"tell your brother to throw me the mask, and you've got a deal." odin said.
"stop moving."
"freya!" sindri called out, eyes focused on his dying brother. you wanted to sob. you wanted to do anything but be here in the grasp of the man you hated the most.
"if he dies.."
"now, now. wasn't part of the plan. but if he dies.." odin's gaze shifted to his son. "we are square for heimdall. and honestly, you got a bargain."
"i will kill you. plan on that."
"so nice spending time with you again."
"freya, please!" sindri begged, finally looking up at her.
"ah ah ah. can't be in two places at once, frigg."
freya shifted backwards, kneeling at brok's side. freyr stepped over, and with him, so did heimdall.
"hey, i don't move, you don't move. don't do anything you'll regret."
"i regret many things. killing you will not be one of them."
"i am in control here!" odin yelled. "throw me the mask, now!"
you watched as your father's gaze shifted from you to atreus, to freyr. he threw the mask after what felt like the longest few seconds of your life, and you lurched out of the allfather's grasp. atreus leaped at him, taking the form of a wolf as he did so. he was shoved out of the way, and he picked the mask up off of the floor.
"too bad." he said, looking directly at you. "looks like war after all."
as he stepped backwards into the doorway, your father hurled a spear at him. you hadn't seen this weapon before, but that was the least of your concerns. the tip of the spear pinned the mask against the wall, and odin slipped out of view. you breathed out a sigh of relief.. but that didn't last for long. you turned around and the view of brok and sindri together on the floor only broke your heart once again.
"please, you have to save him. you have to." sindri said, watching as freya tried her best to heal him. your heart sank into your stomach. there was nothing more she could do, and brok knew it. "he can't.. you can't.. maybe if i go back to the lake.."
"stop it. i know what you done. and i forgives ya. but y'gotta stop. y'gotta let go."
"brok?"
sindri stared down at his brother, now lifeless in his arms. he looked towards the ceiling, and disappeared.
"this.. whole time?" atreus murmured.
freyr appeared at your side, extending the mask out. you stared at it for a moment, before looking up at him. you took it out of his hands, your fingers pressing against it. you hated this thing. it took everything in you to not just destroy it right now.
"so.. what do we do now?" he questioned.
"now..?" freya repeated. she paused, picking up her sword. "now we kill odin. and anyone who gets in our way."
"atreus. y/n. come." your father said.
"what? where?" atreus asked.
"it does not matter." he muttered. you had never seen him look so.. defeated. you felt it too, but he was always so good at hiding how he felt. seeing him like this only hurt you further. brok meant a great deal to him, and you knew that. he meant a great deal to you, too.
"where are you going?" freya said.
"we are done."
he walked away and you were left standing with everyone else, watching as he turned to the door. you took in a deep breath. you squeezed your eyes closed, but followed after him. you stopped after a second, turning to look at heimdall.
you pressed the mask into his hands. "i'll be back." you said, your voice coarse. your throat felt dry. you wanted to scream. you wanted to cry. you probably would. but not right now.
you turned away from him, and followed after your father and brother wordlessly.
"you can't run away from this, kratos. odin won't stop until we stop him!" freya called after him, but her words were only meant with silence.
he pushed open the door, and you stepped onto the yggdrasil.

DOTH ANYONE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT MY FREYR X TYR PROPAGANDA

The Romans thought that the Norse worshipped Mercury who they thought was the same as Odin. Which makes sense because of their domains and trickster antics.
They identified Thor and Tyr with Hercules/Jupiter and Mars. The Romans said they worshipped Isis but that could be literally any female deity but the best guess is either Frigg or Freya. I personally associate Frigg with Juno, Freya with Venus and Freyr with Priapus
All in all I would say the big difference between these pantheons is "X is the god of Y"
The Norse gods were just gods and didn't seem to have super strict and fixed domains compared to the Graeco-Roman pantheon (Well even gods were still a bit loose with their domains) but one would be more likely to pray to the Vanir for fertility than the Aesir but it doesn't mean you can't ask the Aesir for that. Basically just know with the Norse pantheon, there are no boxes. The Jotunn aren't "giants" and don't seem to be that physically different from the Aesir and Vanir - they're just a different group of gods.
The Norse pantheon can't be easily labled and categorized and we don't have as much information about them compared to the Graeco-Roman pantheon. I guess there aren't so many similarities
thank you!

where to kiss [gow headcanon]
prompt: where gow characters like to kiss reader the most
character(s): kratos, thor, baldur, tyr, freya, freyr, mimir, faye & heimdall
tags¬es: gn!reader, fluff, kisses *clearly*, touches. no proofread.
enjoy!
KRATOS likes to kiss your abdomen although he is a man who is fond of every part of your body. he doesn't know why he loves there so much to put lots of kisses but at the end of the day, he is amused by how you put his head on your abdomen, caressing his back while he is sitting on the floor. then, his hot breath hit your abdomen and when he sees your flushed face, he thinks it is better to show his love through the kisses he put on your bare abdomen.
THOR is a hand kisser lover because he tends to show the love he has for you with a gentle way contrary to his massive physical look. he is for sure so strong but when he is with you, he just becomes so naive and delicate towards you and he doesn't mean to harm you with his strength in any way. so, he prefers to kiss you gentle and on hands in order to show you how you are being the most important thing in his life. he puts many kisses on your hands, fingers and palms.
BALDUR likes to kiss, mostly, your lips even if he can't feel it. not feeling your body's warmth under his skin is something he carves for so long but he can't help it since it is a curse for him. however, he finds you as a cure because you make him want to kiss you so much even though there is no such feeling except those he feels on his chest. it is not something he faces before and he loves to have it, so, he chooses your lips to show his affection of you.
TYR is a gentle lover who wants you to feel like you are the most magnificent thing on entire realms he can across to. therefore, he loves to kiss everywhere of your body but if he has to chose a favorite one, he will pick your shoulders because he likes to kneel down to your level and put some kisses on your left and right shoulders while you are working on something. he thinks he helps you to get rid of the exhausting works and gives some relaxation. he is a thoughtful lover.
FREYA is a lip kisser because even though she tries to deny it, she likes to show her dominance side through the kisses you two share. however, she likes to be dominanted by you with your rough but lovely ones as well. she likes how her and your emotions flows within these rough but also gentle kisses. and she even likes to bite your lips from time to time with a mischievous smirk on her face.
FREYR is a man of love, affection and friendship. he is a god who enjoys seeing his lover being so loved by him. therefore, he doesn't try to hide any of his emotions even though he can be shy from time to time except intimate moments. he is likely to have your all face as favorite kiss point because he loves to hold it with his palms and put kisses from forehead to chin. he finds you so cute trying to escape from his hold, trying to hide your liking with a blushed face.
MIMIR also likely to choose your hands and knuckles as where he enjoys kissing you mostly. he has manner and he knows how to treat his lover at hight quality and with lots of affection and he also wants you to feel the great love he has for you from these kisses. he allows you to put your hand in front of his lips and wait for him to kiss because both he and you know how it gives chills down to your spine, feeling being loved by your lover in a very gentle manner.
FAYE is a strong woman no one can deny. like thor, her power don't show itself in intimate moments. she knows you can handle some rough - and intimate moments but she would like to be delicate since you are meaning a lot to her; her beloved lover. so, both her touches and kisses tend to be sensitive towards you. her hands travel around your body slowly and carefully, showing her love with a calm nature, and her kisses are the same. being the love of calm and loving attitude, she chooses your chest to kiss whenever she finds a free time to get in touch with you in a closer way. to her, your chest is the closest way to reach your heart beneath your skin. also, it is where you love to have her because it is easier for you to hug her body when she puts her head on it. in these times, she kisses your chest multiple times.
HEIMDALL is shy, you can say that. he is shy and cocky since he doesn't want to show his addiction of you and he denies it when it comes to kissing. yes, he loves to kiss everywhere of your body since it is clearly belong to him and no one else - and his belong to yours. however, when you ask him where he likes to kiss the most on your body, he would make a joke like how you thought he would pick somewhere but eventually, he would decide to say how he love every part of you and can not choose. maybe, if you puss him harder, he would say 'the lips' in a very low tone and he doesn't want you to speak about it any longer but yes, he likes when you smirk with knowledge whenever he looks at your lips.

Chapter Four
Masterlist
You haven't been back to Sindri's house since Tire was liberated. You didn't want to face him. Thinking about this man always made you uncomfortable and tugged at your scars. You placed your hand against your shoulder. You didn't like it. You sighed, running your hands over your face. Have the Norns decided to challenge you? If so, they were really cruel to you. Although they told you once, they were just spectators of the spectacle that the Aesir Gods and mortals gave them.
So that was your life. A spectacle of tragedy that entertained the Norns.
“What a shitty life,” you muttered, slamming your knife into the belly of the deer you hunted.
You opened the poor beast's belly, removing its organs so you could harvest the meat. You were going to be able to last a few weeks with that. You froze as you felt a divine and threatening presence. You groaned as you approached the bucket full of water to clean your hands. You looked closely at your hands soaking in blood. The last time you had this much blood on your hands was when you took out your anger on a troll who had broken into the Valkyrie council. The creature didn't stand a chance against your rage and sadness. You remembered being covered in his blood from head to toe. You didn't get any satisfaction from this confrontation. You dipped your hands in the cold water, removing the blood from your hands.
You couldn't help but feel uncomfortable thinking about what happened in Svartalfheim. The liberation of Tyr did not bring you the relief and joy you hoped for. You dreamed so much of his return and you were disappointed by the reaction and behavior of the one who was your husband. No, this man was not your husband. Your husband was dead when he left your home for Asgard.
You grabbed your knife, moving closer to your game when you felt your hair stand up at the base of your neck. You saw a strange shape crossing the sky at full speed.
Had you dreamed or had you just seen Vanadís?
You dropped your work, rushing to the Mystique door. You walked through the door. You knew where she was going. You had heard the little boy talking about her with his father. If she was in such a hurry, that meant that Kratos and Atreus weren't far away. What could they have done to upset Vanadís? You passed the door arriving in front of a house. You heard the sound of weapons clashing when you heard Atreus screaming and bear howls. You rushed into the backyard to see Kratos holding back a grizzly bear.
"Atreus! You do not want this! Calm your mind. Control it!" he said holding the bear down. “She was our friend.”
Freya turned her back on the father and son. She was conflicted. Atreus returned to his human form. Kratos helped him up, asking if he was hurt. The Vanir Goddess felt rage invade her, her breathing accelerated. Freya screamed, turning to face Kratos. She used her Vanir magic, conjuring up a vine that wrapped itself around the rock next to the Spartan's head. The vine squeezed the rock until it exploded. Kratos protected Atreus from the flying stones. Freya faced them. Her rage was palpable. But she didn't always seem capable of killing someone. Was she still cursed or did she not have the courage?
"Maybe… for the moment… you're of no more use to me… alive," she said, putting away her sword.
Kratos stood up, grabbing Atreus' arm, forcing him to do the same. The Spartan ordered the teenager to return to Sindri's house. Which, obviously, Atreus didn't like. Not surprisingly, Sindri and Brok came out from behind a rock. You rolled your eyes as you saw Atreus' sidekick say they were taking him home and saw him bow to Freya. Kratos pushed Atreus towards the dwarves, telling them not to lose sight of him. You watched Sindri and the teenager pass not far from you. Atreus looked at you surprised to see you there, but Sindri made him understand that this was not the time to upset his father. The two headed towards the mystic gate, leaving Midgard. Something interesting seemed to have happened while you were gone. You returned your attention to the deities who were getting dangerously closer, sizing each other up with their eyes.
“What is it you want?” Kratos asked.
"I refuse to remain bound to this Realm. We travel to Vanaheim," Freya announced.
Vanaheim?
Wasn't that where Sköll and Hati were? Was it a Norn trick? But the dream you had. Did Tyr plan all this?
“(Y/N)?” Freya asked, looking at you in surprise.
You were brought out of your thoughts when you heard the Goddess. She was looking at you as if she had just seen a ghost. You looked at Kratos. The Spartan moved closer to your person, eyeing you severely.
"What are you doing here?"
"I saw a furious Goddess speeding past my house. Only Vanadís was in such a hurry. And it was only you she could fight," you said. while looking at Kratos. “You lost sight of your little boy again, didn’t you?”
“That’s none of your business,” he said, moving next to you.
"Of course. But your little one set something in motion. And there are some things I need to check out. I'm coming with it to Vanaheim. Your brother is still there right?" you asked, turning your attention back to Freya. “I have a few questions to ask him.”
"What do you want to know?" asked Kratos who was near Brok.
"I imagine you haven't been idle since… Tyr was freed. Am I wrong? I need to know what you found and what happened."
"For what?" asked Freya perplexed.
"Ragnarok is almost here. There are some things I need to know."
"Would you have a role to play during Ragnarok, daughter?" Mimir asked uneasily.
"I… I don't know. But in Vanaheim… there's one thing I have to see."
"What?" Kratos asked.
"I just need to go check something out. Without Tyr being around."
“You still don’t trust him?” asked Mimir.
"No."
“Tyr is alive?” asked Freya in surprise.
“Not really,” you replied, heading towards the mystical door. “This man is not Tyr.”
Freya gave Kratos a look that said they were going to have to discuss this. Brok finished opening the passage, allowing the group to travel to Vanaheim.
Vanaheim.
This Realm was a huge jungle, filled with dangerous vegetation that attacked any outsiders. The smell of humidity and plants invaded your nostrils. It was strange. The last time you came to this Realm was for Freya and Odin's wedding. Like everyone else, you had bitter memories of it. Everyone was angry with Freya and with Mimir. Freyr had caused a scandal during the ceremony.
"Oh no. Something's wrong," Freya said, snapping you out of your thoughts. "My spell. I can feel it slipping."
"Well. That's Fimbulvetr for ya!" Brok said.
"You don't understand. I'll be torn from the Realm."
“What can be done?” Kratos asked, looking at Freya who was muttering under her breath.
"Something I was hoping to avoid… Seems I have much choice."
Before everyone's eyes, Freya transformed into a hawk. Mimir asked her if she could circumvent Odin's spell from the beginning, to which the Goddess replied that she discovered it when they opened the passage between the realms. It was not a solution and this form was extremely restrictive for her. In this form, she couldn't fight.
The journey took place under Brok's stupid jokes and Mimir's answers. Kratos, Brok and you killed every plant that had become more aggressive with the humidity and creatures that emerged from the shadows to stop them.
Everything here was in ruins. Nothing has been rebuilt. Which saddened Freya.
Was it also surprising?
“Whare has everyone gone, I wonder…?” Mimir began, perplexed.
“They must have withdrawn. Hidden themselves out in the wilds, and covered their tracks with magic,” Freya replied. “No way of knowing how many are left, or how to reach them.”
“Aesir ran cockshod all over this place, huh?” Brok commented.
“You can thank Mimir for that,” Freya commented sarcastically.
“War with the Vanir was NEVER my idea!” exclaimed Mimir. “MY idea was brokering the marriage to end it!”
“A great success that was!”
“Like many of his ideas,” you said darkly.
"Darling. I assure you it was to protect you."
"Of course. Keep convincing yourself," you said with a chuckle.
"Enough! Let's keep moving," Kratos growled.
The rest of the trip was done in silence. The trio followed Freya through the Vanaheim jungle until Brok was caught by a trap that dragged him to an unknown location. You glanced at Kratos, who did the same. You and him were going to have to save Brok's blue butt. Kratos went first, telling you to be careful. You arrived in a deserted place. Brok hung in midair, grunting as he tried to free himself from the trap. Kratos told him to shut up. It was way too quiet.
"Now what do we have here? Ol' One-Eye send another God and to a little girl to do dirty work?"
You and Kratos turned towards a man who lit a torch, allowing you to see his face better. You recognized him as Freyr, Freya's brother.
“Thor too busy?”
"We do not serve Odin," Kratos said.
“No?” Freyr asked, moving closer. “Picked a dangerous place for sightseeing, then. Am I right?”
Freyr's men emerged from the shadows, surrounding the two coming. You made your sword appear, revealing your nightmarish form. You were ready to fight.
“This form and this sword,” Freyr said, eyeing you carefully. "Little Valkyrie. I never thought I'd see you again, kiddo."
“There are two of us, Freyr,” you said, getting into a fighting stance.
“Now, now,” said Mimir. "No need for threats."
"Oh. I know that voice…," Freyr said as Kratos unhooked Mimir from his belt so he could see him. "You know, I'd cut off your head… but it seems somebody beat me to it."
"Aye. Oh, quit watching, brother," the head replied.
"No, you're no brother of mine. You sold my sister to that… prick!"
“We brokered a peace!”
"Oh! Did you now? Where is it? Hmm? And where is my sister? Some dungeon in Asgard? Is she even alive? ANSWER ME!"
Freyr got too close to Mimir, Kratos pointed his ax at the Vanir God, making him understand that he was too close. Freyr laughed, backing away from the trap that held Brok. He took his weapon from his belt, saying that blood would flow. At that moment, Freya yelled for her brother to stop. She landed on a perch, looking down at Freyr who was looking at her perplexed.
"What is that? Why do you speak in her voice?" he asked without looking away from the hawk.
"It's me, Yngvi. There's no time to explain. Just listen. These person are in my service. I'm here to reclaim what's been taken from me."
"It's too late. You can't' undo what's been done," Freyr replied.
"I can. I will. Now let them pass."
Freya took off from her perch, leaving the camp. Freyr didn't take his eyes off her. He didn't seem to believe that his sister had returned to him. The Vanir God turned to the duo, asking if they served his sister. Kratos growled in response as you transformed back into your normal form, vanishing your sword. Freyr sneered, commenting that they were all serving her. He turned to Lunda, ordering her to free Brok from this trap. The dwarf brought her knife down on the rope, cutting it cleanly. Brok fell heavily to the ground. Kratos hooked Mimir back onto his belt. You approached Brok, helping him up while Kratos approached Freyr.
“Nothing broken?” you asked, helping Brok up.
"I'm fine. I've seen worse than that fall," he said, turning to Lunda. "What's with leaving me hanging like that, ya crusty hag?"
"Oh can it, Blábr! C'mere…," she said before giving Brok a hug.
"Well! Found who I was lookin' for. Think I'm gonna stay and catch up," Brok said before following Lunda to her forge.
“Oh, are you now?”
“Do as you wish,” you replied, watching the two dwarves walk away.
You sighed, going to join the Elves of Alfheim and a man dressed in armor and armed with a huge sword. You took a seat on a log, glancing at Freyr's henchmen. The man named Birgir told you that they wanted the camp to remain secret. You replied that it would stay that way. You weren't going to leave camp anyway. You didn't care what Freya was looking for. You just had to know something.
"Are Sköll and Hati in Vanaheim?" you asked, looking at Birgir.
"Why this question?"
"I just need to know if they are here and if there was any strange phenomenon. Wasn't there a solar eclipse?"
“It’s been several centuries since there was one,” Beyla replied, catching your attention. "The wolves continue to chase the Sun and the Moon. They are fine."
"I need to go check on them. I need to make sure they're okay. Where is their lair?"
“Whose lair?”
You jumped, turning to Freyr who was holding Mimir. The Vanir God settled down next to you, giving you back what was left of your father. You looked at Mimir uncertainly. You reached out your hand, taking the rope to place him at your side.
“I have to go see Sköll and Hati,” you said, looking at Freyr.
"For what?"
"I have to make sure they're okay and that nothing bad happens to them."
Freyr looked at Birgir, Beyla and Byggvir. The camp leader sighed and stood up, gesturing for you to follow him to the table. You grabbed Mimir, following Freyr who showed you a map. He explained to you which path you had to take to get to the wolves' den. Freyr looked at you intently. You took off your cloak, putting it in a corner, so you could tie Mimir to your waist. Your wings. No doubt a move from Odin. He remembered you. After all, you have always been the pride of the Valkyries and Mimir. Everyone knew you. He had seen you as a child. He even played with you and learned some pranks to play on your father. Until Heimdal decided to burn it and leave Asgard.
“Why do you want to make sure the wolves are okay?” Freyr asked, folding the map.
"I know they were imprisoned by Odin. I just need to make sure nothing curious happens," you said, heading towards the portal.
“Wait!” Freyr exclaimed, following you. "Are you sure it's a good idea to go alone? How long has it been since you last came to Vanaheim?"
“Do you think I’m that weak, Freyr?” you asked, stopping near the gate.
"I didn't say you're weak, little Valkyrie. I'm just saying it's not a good idea to go alone. Fimbulvetr hasn't spared this Kingdom and there are many Einharjes who is swarming around."
"You don't have to worry. After the Valkyries, someone else taught me some techniques," you said as you passed through the portal. “I’ll be back in a few hours.”
You moved away from Freyr's camp, deep into the jungle of Vanaheim. You took the path indicated by Freyr. According to him, Sköll and Hati were not far away. Mimir glanced at you a few times. Should he speak or not? You were still mad at him. Well Named.
"Honey… I know you don't want to talk to me, but I wish you would listen to me. Your mother and I… we really thought we were protecting you by sending you back to Midgard. We wanted to keep you away from Odin and his madness. But… it didn't go as we hoped. I don't know what he did or how he was able to find you, but… I'm sorry. I couldn't protect you the way I wanted. The day he imprisoned me and cursed the Valkyries… they brought us your wings. Daughter… please. I want you to know, I'm sorry. This pain will torment me all my life. The only thing that calms me is knowing that you are alive."
You stopped when you heard Mimir's apology. He asked you for forgiveness? He wanted you to forgive him for abandoning you? You unhooked your head from your belt, placing it on a rock. Mimir could see from your expression that you were not happy with this request. You turned your back on Mimir, taking a few steps away. You ran your hands over your face, running them through your hair. Did he dare to ask you for forgiveness? He dared to make such a request to you?
“You and Mother forced me to return to Midgard,” you began softly, turning to Mimir. “You and Mother never came to see me. Never! You and Mother failed me! You You gave up without the slightest remorse! I was all alone! I had no one… do you know what I did when I found out that mother was locked up? I protected her. I did the only one that you and her didn't do. I stayed with her and protected that damn breach at the risk of my life! So no! No. I could never forgive you. Or her ."
Mimir sighed, dejected. Everything you just told him was true. It was normal that you refused to forgive him. With their statue as Sigrun's Queen of the Valkyries and Odin's role as advisor, they never had time to make sure you were well established in Midgard. He had been busy making sure the marriage between Odin and Freya worked to ensure some semblance of peace. Which has always been a big joke.
“That’s what I told myself when he took my wings and in Tyr when he found me,” you said with a sigh.
“I… I beg your pardon?” Mimir asked, looking at you surprised.
You approached the rock where you had placed Mimir. You sat down in front of him, looking him over. Mimir was struck by your state. Since he was able to see you again, this was the first time he was able to see you properly. Your eyes were watery, you had dark bags under your eyes, that sparkle of mischief that you had as a child was gone. You have become a woman tired of this miserable life. You sighed, running your hands over your face.
"I obeyed. I returned to Midgard. I knew that you and mother wanted to protect me from Odin. But that wasn't enough. Do you want to know what he did? He pretended to be you. He took on your appearance and I let my guard down. That's how he managed to take my wings. When he did… I called. . You and mother… I called for someone to come and help me…"
“But no one came…”
“No… no one,” you said, sighing. "I found Mother's breach. I tried to ignore her, but… I kept coming back to her. I couldn't… get used to the idea to left her alone and helpless. Until Tyr found me and helped me. He trained me. He loved me. He saved me. I was happy again. But so was he, he abandoned me. That man at Sindri's… he's not my Tyr. He's not my husband."
"But… that doesn't explain why you want to see Sköll and Hati."
"I had a dream not long ago. I was with Tyr. We were going hunting and then… he disappeared. At that moment, a lightning bolt tore through the sky and everything became red. The moon was hiding the Sun. Then I saw two pairs of eyes and some growling noises and in the end, Tyr appeared and asked me to help him."
"It's strange. A premonitory dream perhaps," replied Mimir perplexed. "You helped Tyr, in a way, and we're going to see the wolves. But an eclipse? That's strange. I'll think about it, darling."
“Thank you,” you said, smiling at Mimir. “Father.”
"I'll make it up to you (Y/N). I promise."
"No offense. You're just a head," you said, getting up and picking up Mimir.
"Ah! It doesn't just take brawn to succeed, Darling. I thought I taught you that."
“Yes, but from time to time, you have to know how to hit.”
“Okay, you’re right about that.”
You let out a light laugh as you attached Mimir to your waist. You set off again, finally reaching the wolves' den. You saw the wolf Hati who was sleeping. Sköll was still chasing the Sun. You slowly approached Hati. The wolf's ears twitched as he heard you approach. You kneeled in front of him. Hati raised his head, looking at you perplexed. At first glance, he seemed fine. You sat down, sighing in relief. Maybe the dream you had was nothing more than a dream. You held out your hand towards him. The giant wolf brought its snout closer, sniffing a little before standing up. You did the same, following him to the edge of the cliff. Hati sat up, looking at you with his red eyes. He began to scream before chasing the moon, giving way to the Sun. Sköll will run towards you, landing next to you. The wolf looked at you perplexed as you offered him your hand. He sniffed for a few seconds before going to lie down in his den, waiting for his brother to finish his endless chase.
“They are fine,” Mimir said. "It seems your dream is just a dream, daughter."
“Maybe,” you said, looking at Sköll.
"It's been a while since you've been away from camp. It's better to go back before they worry."
“Yes.”
You looked at Sköll one last time before leaving their lair to return to Freyr's camp. You were relieved to know that the wolves were okay. So why did you have this dream? It did not make sense. No, you didn't have to think about it anymore. You walked through the camp gate to see Freya and Freyr hugging. Apparently you missed something. You moved closer to Kratos, unhooking Mimir from your waist to return him to the Spartan.
"You finished?" you asked, looking at Kratos.
“Yes.”
“What’s the verdict?” Mimir asked.
“She will help us,” Kratos replied, looking at Mimir. “Did everything go well?”
“Oh yes,” the head replied. "Very well even. Now what? What do we do?"
"We're going back," Kratos replied, hanging Mimir back on his belt. "And you?"
"I'm coming. I have to do something," you replied uncomfortably.
"You want to talk to him? Are you sure?" asked Mimir worried.
“Yes, you have to.”
"I'm ready to go," Freya announced, approaching the group. "(Y/N)? Did you find what you were looking for?"
"Yes. I have nothing more to do here."
"We're going back," Kratos said as he headed towards the entrance to the camp.
"Hey little Valkyrie! Come back and see us soon!" Freyr exclaimed.
"Yes, Freyr. I'll think about it," you replied before catching up with Freya and Kratos.
You liked Freyr, but he was always so loud and exhausting. At least it seemed that he and Freya had reconciled, and she and Kratos seemed to have put their differences aside. It was a good thing. At least, you hoped so. Now there was one thing left for you to do.
Talk to Tyr.
Just thinking about it made you uncomfortable. You felt your stomach twist and your hands become sweaty. It was so strange that you felt this way when thinking about your husband. You had to stay focused on your goal. But there was also another problem. According to Mimir, Atreus had disappeared for two days and he refused to say where he had been. This did not please the Spartan who announced that the boy was going to tell him everything and that there was nothing to add. Mimir looked at you, commenting that this was the famous Spartan diplomacy. But Freya's question sent shivers down your spine.
"Wait… did you say Odin invited him to Asgard and then he disappeared for two days?" asked the Goddess worriedly.
"What? Are you kidding?!" you exclaimed. "Odin invited the little boy to Asgard?!"
"Aye… but surely the lad's got more sense than to-" Mimir began before being cut off by Freya.
"Don't underestimate Odin's powers of persuasion. He filled my son's head with lies. Why wouldn't he do the same with yours?"
“It’s not just persuasion,” you said darkly. "If he feels that your little one is an obstacle to his plans, he will not hesitate to make him disappear. He has no limits."
“That too,” Freya replied softly, watching you struggle.
You preferred to ignore the look Freya gave you. You didn't need his pity. Not after all this time. You walked through the door, arriving in front of Sindri's house. Brok was arguing with Bitter Squirrel, one of Ratatoskr's alteregos. Kratos ignored the argument and entered the house. You followed the Spartan, with Brok and Freya. Kratos wasted no time entering his son's room. Sindri left the room, visibly upset. You went to sit at the table when Atreus came out of his room insulting his father. You heard Mimir exclaim that this was not how he was going to change his father's mind.
It looked bad.
"He doesn't have any faith in me! It's fine of he keeps secrets. It's fine is Mom did," exclaimed Atreus who came to sit at the table.
“It is NOT fine,” Kraots replied harshly as he followed his son. “Her secrets haunt every step of this path.”
"Oh, okay. So you don't believe in her anymore either?"
“His is not about your mother!” Kratos exclaimed, placing Mimir on the table. “What you have done is lie.”
“Wonder where I learned that?” the boy replied sarcastically.
“That’s quite enough!” exclaimed Mimir.
“Since when do you away take his side?” Atreus asked, looking at his angry head.
"Since he became the one making sense."
In the meantime, Tyr had approached the table. A pot full of stew in his hands.
"Look… I was only thinking about going to Odin. But I swear it's for a good reason…," explained the young man.
“There is no good reason to go to Odin,” Freya replied, approaching.
“He’ll only cloud your mind,” Tyr continued.
"But I'd be going for us. I gotta stop something bad from happening."
“Something bad did happen!” exclaimed Mimir, attracting the attention of the dwarves who approached in turn. "LOOK AT ME! At Freya. At Tyr. At (Y/N)! Odin did this to us!"
"What's got everyone caterwaulin' all a sudden?" Brok asked as he approached Atreus.
“Atreus wants to go Asgard,” Sindri replied.
"Asgard? Did he get kicked in the head or something?"
"Great. I guess everyone's against me now," Atreus growled, glaring at his father.
"You must choose who you are going to be," Kratos replied, approaching his son. "Are you going to continue to lie and keep things from me? Or are you my son?"
As he spoke, Kratos placed his hand on Atreus' shoulder. Hoping that his words finally reach him. But it didn't seem to have any impact on the boy. If anything, it seemed to upset him even more.
"Choose? I never get to choose. Just leave me alone."
Atreus wanted to walk away and end this discussion. But Kratos didn't think so. He grabbed the boy's arm, ordering him to listen. Atreus yelled at him to let go. He violently pushed Kratos away, but with his rage, he transformed into a bear. Freya rushed to Kratos, helping him up. Tyr had dropped the pot, grabbing your arm to pull you towards him. Unluckily for Sindri, Atreus was standing in front of him. The dwarf tried to reason with the boy. Without success. Atreus violently pushed him away with his paw before fleeing and breaking down the door of the house. He was running away. Kratos rushed to the door as Freya and Brok rushed to Sindri's side. You tried to break away from Tyr's hold, but he refused to let you go.
"He might come back," he said nervously.
"Let go of me!" you cried, pushing him away and watching him get annoyed. “What the hell is wrong with you?!”
You quickly moved away from Tyr, approaching Sindri, Freya and Brok. According to the Goddess, there was nothing serious about the dwarf. Just scratches. Which was a relief in care. Your attention landed on the door. Kratos stood in the doorway. His fists were clenched and you seemed to see sparks flying. The Spartan slammed his fist against the doorway, making the house shake. You looked from Kratos, to Freya healing Sindri, to Brok who was cursing, and to Tyr who was standing nervously in the back of the room. You sighed, massaging your temples which were becoming sore.
And now what would happen?
