Release: May 30, 2019
Lyrics:
You learnt my love, you hit the target
You get that rush, and then you walk out the door
You kept me small, it's what you wanted
I never noticed
You held my hand into the darkness
I didn't care, it made me just want you more
My God, your love, it seems so harmless
I never noticed
And I hate that you're gone
And I hate that I don't wanna let go
And I hate that you think that I'm weak
'Cause I don't wanna let you know
I'm gonna build castles
From the rubble of your love
From the rubble of your love
I'm gonna be more than
You ever thought I was
You ever thought I was (ooh)
Each time you left, there was a hunger
I felt so dead, I couldn't take anymore
Losing your love, it left me stronger
I never noticed
And I hate that you're gone
And I hate that I don't wanna let go
And I hate that you think that I'm weak
'Cause I don't wanna let you know
That I'm gonna build castles
From the rubble of your love
From the rubble of your love
I'm gonna be more than
You ever thought I was
You ever thought I was
That I'm gonna build castles
From the rubble of your love
From the rubble of your love
I'm gonna be more than
You ever thought I was
You ever thought I was, oh
Castles
From the rubble of your love
From the rubble of your love
I'm gonna be more than
You ever thought I was
You ever thought I was
I'm gonna build castles
From the rubble of your love
From the rubble of your love
I'm gonna be more than
You ever thought I was
You ever thought I was
Songwriter:
That I'm gonna build castles
From the rubble of your love
From the rubble of your love
I'm gonna be stronger
Than you ever thought I was
You ever thought I was

Merseburger Spells
The Merseburg Spells or Incantations are two magic spells found in a Latin Sacramentarium and are written in Carolingian minuskel. The manuscript originates from the Abbey of Fulda, Germany and are dated around 800-900 AD, but only rediscovered in 1841.
The spells do not show any sign of Christian influence and are the only written proof of Germanic mythology in Old High German.
The first spell tells of prisoners of war which are freed by the Idisi. An unknown kind of god-like figures, possibly a Germanic version of Valkyries.
The second spell is a healing incantation. Wotan rides through the woods with Balder, until Balders horse named Phol gets hurt. Wotan, Friia (Freya), her sister Volla and Sinthgund and her sister Sunna sing to the horse; let your wounds be cured.
There are other version of the second spell known, but in different rhyming couplets and turned into a Christian motive.
English and Dutch speakers may identify most of the words without knowing the lyrics first.

I know this is a random question, but are any songs you associate with Byler? (Currently listening to what I call "soft music" and a lot of it tends to make me think of Byler sometimes.)
Yes, but caveat on my answer: I have a really bad maladaptive daydreaming problem (have since I was very young). I can put on music and very vividly imagine movie-quality scenes in my head.
So the songs I associate with a subject may not be the ones everyone thinks of because I don't just go by lyrics but mood and what generally feels like something I can set to Byler, in this instance, in my head. So if my answers seem weird, that's why lol (also I tend to come at Byler from Will's POV so take that into account)
Songs w/ Lyrics:
About You (The 1975)
I Know the End (Phoebe Bridgers)
Rearview Mirror (Greyson Chance)
High (Miley Cyrus)
Guilty as Sin? (Taylor Swift)
Good Enough (Evanescence)
Dancing With Our Hands Tied (Taylor Swift)
Love Goes On and On (Lindsey Stirling ft. Amy Lee)
If You Ever Forget That You Love Me (Isak Danielson)
Fresh Out The Slammer (Taylor Swift)
Run (Taylor Swift ft. Ed Shereen)
I miss you, I'm sorry (Gracie Abrams)
imgonnagetyouback (Taylor Swift)
Imperfection (Evanescence)
Halo (STARSET) - rare Mike POV one
I Can't Hear It Now (Freya Ridings, from the Arcane soundtrack)
What Have They Done To Us? (from the Arcane soundtrack)
Start Again (RED)
Edge of Midnight (Miley Cyrus ft. Stevie Nicks) - Idk why this one makes me think of them; maybe just very 80s feel to it lol
Rather Be (Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne)
Delicate (Taylor Swift) - this one specifically makes me think of Noah, but fuck it, I'll throw it in there
Soundtracks
Agony (from the Arcane soundtrack)
Blisters and Bedrock (from the Arcane soundtrack)
Daybreak (Robin Carolan, from the Nosferatu soundtrack) - I have a VERY specific "fake scenario" for this one lol If anyone wants me to elaborate on that, I can
Tormented Lovers (Bear McCreary)
Outside the Realm (Big Giant Circles) - I think this is actually IN Stranger Things Season 2

Hey! A fun (I hope) little game for ya !Drop your five favourite One Piece characters, and a song that makes you think of them (plus explanation if you want to)
Ooooo! I've been waiting for something like this! Where to start? XD
Crocodile
Castles by Freya Ridings - The first time I heard this song, I thought "CROCODILE!" Especially if taken from the perspective of a bad dragodile or dofuwani breakup. The castles he built are the casinos in the desert lol
Luffy and Dragon
Back 2 U by Steve Aoki & Boehm & Walk The Moon - This is my current theme song for my dragodile fic, Tower of Sand. Luffy and Dragon (& Crocodile) are off doing their own thing, and do not know if they will ever see each other properly again.
Mihawk
Dream (Boehm Remix) - Autograf - This was my theme song while I was writing The Starlighter. Mihawk is caught in the dream of Buggy's neverending blue hair.
Dear Prudence - The Beatles - Wrote another Mihawk centric fic with this as its title. The theme of the song fit well with what was happening to Mihawk in the story.
Buggy
Wonders - Klingande - This song reminds me of setting out on adventure, which fits with Buggy and the Buggy Pirates, and now Cross Guild going after the One Piece.
Law
Come Together - The Beatles - This song just gives me a Law vibe. It must be because of this lyric: hold you in his arms til you can feel his disease
Also, everyone in the world has covered this song, but shout out to Joe Cocker's version.
Thank you Logan! I have a lot more, (mostly Bughawk centered songs) but these are the top ones in my playlists right now.

song/ship analyses part 5: merthur and "the archer" by taylor swift
this is more about merlin than merthur but i'll call it what i want
“Combat, I'm ready for combat
I say I don't want that, but what if I do?” after so many years of protecting arthur and borderline killing people for him, and also he’s constantly trying to get mordred to just fucking die already
“I've got a hundred thrown-out speeches I almost said to you” the many many times merlin could have told arthur about his magic
“I jump from the train, I ride off alone” merlin often goes off to protect arthur on his own, of course lancelot and gwaine did come with him occasionally along with some other but usually he’s by himself
“I've been the archer
I've been the prey” pretty self explanatory. he’s fought and defeated but he’s also been hunter like in the witchfinder episode
“Who could ever leave me, darling?
But who could stay?” so many people are devoted to merlin but they also often end up dead, like lancelot, freya, even arthur
“Dark side, I search for your dark side
But what if I'm alright, right, right, right here?” he knows he should be weary of arthur but he can’t help being comfortable in his presence
“And I cut off my nose just to spite my face
Then I hate my reflection for years and years” he goes against kilgarrah’s advice to justlet mordred die and ends up regretting it
“I wake in the night, I pace like a ghost
The room is on fire, invisible smoke” this is just a ptsd lyric i think
“And all of my heroes die all alone
Help me hold onto you” his dad, lancelot, many of his other allies end up dying and he wants arthur to you know. not do that
“'Cause they see right through me
They see right through me
They see right through
Can you see right through me?” despite the fact that his magic should be secret, people do know about it, gaius, lancelot, probably gwaine as well, and it’s the fear that arthur knows too and is waiting for a reason to execute him
“All the king's horses, all the king's men
Couldn't put me together again” after arthur’s death the knights probably tried to make him feel better but it obviously wouldn’t do anything for his guilt
“'Cause all of my enemies started out friends
Help me hold onto you” morgana and mordred started out as his friends, and if arthur found out about his magic, he would probably turn against him as well

Riding high on that wave, the Old Gods return to Bright Falls to record their fifth studio album. When tragedy strikes, unleashing an ancient evil that lurks far below Cauldron Lake, wayward young lovers Odin Anderson and Thomas Zane must reunite to defeat the horror before it devours their town whole.
The close of this chapter marks the first piece of long fiction, original or fanfic, I've finished. Thank you so much to everyone supporting me throughout this crazy journey with your follows, likes, and reblogs. It means so, so much to me. Thank you for taking a chance on this rarepair. <3
This fic is as much a love letter to Marko Saaresto, who portrays young Odin, as it is to Alan Wake and Alan Wake 2. His lyrics are beautiful, soulful, inspirational and their impact on my life cannot be overstated. If you haven’t heard Poets of the Fall’s music, I highly recommend you check it out. He is my muse.

8, 9, 89 🫶🏿🌸
Thank you 🩷
8. Noah Kahan - Stick Season A bit of a basic bitch move lol, but I just really liked the song! It's so catchy and I listened to it on repeat for a while. I just want to sing along with this song every time I hear it 😅
9. Freya Ridings - Maps (single version) I think I found this song through the radio feature on another song! The repetitive "They don't love you like I love you" hits a spot for me.
89. Aisha Badru - Splintered Pretty sure this was in my top 100 last year as well. It's such a beautiful song. Honestly all the lyrics are good, but I think this is my favorite bit:
We are splintered / And we are rotten / Deep within the walls that we've forgotten // All the answers / To all our problems // Lie within the one who tries to dodge them

Interesting new music to listen to (my recommendations):
“The Player”, Clara Mae: a raw and empowering song, with poetic interludes and aesthetics that flawlessly complement the lyrics.
“My Mother Told Me”, Ekaterina Shelehova: inspired by Russian folk music. The artist deeply touched my heart with her unique, angelic voice.
“Ojos Diamante”, Ximena Sariñana: about encountering hardship in love and wishing to be reassured by looking in one’s partner’s eyes
“Frailty of Nights”, Amr Shalaby: need piano music to loop endlessly? This one, you’ll listen to it on repeat, especially if you’re seeking something calm and majestically beautiful
“Nobody’s soldier”, Hozier: an anti-war song about the violence we’re witnessing from afar while feeling angry and hopeless. The white flag and the child doll in the music video gave me chills.
“luminary rainbows”, ionnalee: to whom it may concern
“Ghost in the Machine”, Raycheal Winters: a lyrical and musical masterpiece, about finding the inner strength to overcome trials and reach self-realization
“My Body’s My Buddy”: about loving and accepting one’s body throughout its changes, for the care, safety and experiences it offers
“Vampires”, Ha Vay: about our obsession with eternal youth, packed with references to fairytales and the fantasy genre
“Grandiose”, Pomme & Ichiko Aoba: the Japanese version of the third track of “les failles”, about wanting to be a mother while questioning if it’s a genuine desire or if it’s largely due to social influences
“Parasite”, Chløë Black: dark feminine energy, hell yeah! And with a pun between “parasites”, “Paris lights” and “Paradise”. Need I say more?
“That’s My Floor”, Magdalena Bay: another banger by this group of two, known for their hypnotic sound, references to Internet culture, surrealist visuals, existential undertones and experimental approach to music
“Dancing With Fire”, Sever the Light: like the title, the song is fire!
“Coloured Concrete”, Nemahsis: crafted with originality and intricate metaphors, this song perfectly captures the feeling of confusion while growing up. It’s the one that I related to the most.
Other songs that I wish I mentioned: Dark Night of the Soul (Simone Simons, ft. Ayreon), Pink Electric Shoes (Parov Stelar), Heartbreak Rodeo (Lily Meola), That’s Life (Luna Li), Eternals (Abstracted Minds), Offerings to the Gods (Othala), Plead (Ashley Kutcher), rush (Marco Luka), Can’t Stop Me Now (KAZIMI), Hung the Moon (Cults), Ethereal (TXMY x Freya Ridings), Thank Goodness (Hope Tala), beautiful girls get the ugliest world (carolesdaughter), Left of Me (Andrea Bejar), Come Alive (Phantogram), Say My Name (Cassyette), Skin & Bones (Silverstein), Drift Slow (Glasser), gonna have to trust you (Stephen Stanley), feelings don’t lie (Ofenbach & salem ilese), Shell of You (Lava La Rue), Another High (Mothica)

No. 6 Secret Santa Playlist
Gift for @fagnightsatfreddys from @pigeonsimba! I tried to get lyric videos for all, but alas. I did it by youtube links since I know not everyone has Spotify, but the Spotify link is at the bottom too. Hope you enjoy!
An Act of Kindness - Bastille
An act of kindness
Is what you showed to me
It caught me by surprise
In this town of glass and ice
Miracle Cure - Sea Wolf
If I can surround you in beautiful sounds, I will
If I can repay you for coming to save me, I will
Midnight Dove - Shawn James
I found myself, found myself amongst the thorns and weeds
You found yourself, found yourself amongst the beautiful trees
We are not the same, no, we are not the same
Pluto - Sleeping At Last
‘Til one day I had enough
Of this exercise of trust
I leaned in and let it hurt
Let my body feel the dirt
Someone You’d Admire - Fleet Foxes
I walk with others in me yearning to get out
Claw at my skin and gnash their teeth and shout
One of them wants only to be someone you’d admire
One would as soon just throw you on the fire
Help Me - rainbow frog biscuits
Please don’t do that thing again
‘Cause you make me all confused
I try my best to look ahead
But all I see is you
Sort Of - Ingrid Michaelson
Baby, you’ve got the sort of hands to rip me apart
And baby, you’ve got the sort of face to start this old heart
But your eyes are warning me this early morning
That my love’s too big for you, my love
Fuck Was I - Jenny Owen Youngs
Love is so embarrassing
I’m this awkward and uncomfortable thing
I’m running out of places to hide it
Heaven is a Place - Amber Run
I don’t know when I started loving you
Now it’s all that I can do
King of a Tragedy - Isak Danielson
I wanna surrender and sacrifice
The fear that I feel when I look in your eyes
Please take me to heaven before I die
I am the king of a tragedy, king of a tragedy
Atlantis - Noah Gundersen, Phoebe Bridgers
If I was Atlantis and you were the sea
I’d sneak up behind you and break your knees
I’d cut off your fingers and both of your feet
So you couldn’t reach me, but you couldn’t leave
Forces of the Unseen - Cloud Cult
I’m gonna make it through, you’ll see.
I swear I’ll prove you wrong.
You haven’t seen the last of me.
I am way too strong.
Agape - Bear’s Den
For I’m so scared of losing you
And I don’t know what I can do about it
Lost Without You - Freya Ridings
You said, “I want to see the world”, and I said, “Go”
But I think I’m lost without you
The Moon is Down - Radical Face
You were never at rest
You were always somewhere-bound
But as for me, I’m the simple kind
I’ll live and die in this town
