I’ve been quiet since I’ve been on vacation in the California desert, so here, have this photo of me in Joshua Tree National Park, posing in front of a huge boulder appropriately named Skull Rock.
And, of course, I took a photo of Joshua trees
#personal#a little surreal being in a place so warm and sunny right before christmas#but it is quite pretty here

Life/Writing Update
So, things have been falling apart a little bit. I realized I'm smack in the middle of a really horrible episode of autistic burnout; it's taking nearly all of my energy to function during the work day, and I'm constantly overstimulated and irritable/sad. I'm still going for my daily five mile walks, at least. :)
I found a new therapist who specializes in treating neurodivergent women, though, so that's a positive. Since I already have my official ASD diagnosis, she's going to assess me for ADHD next week, and maybe talk about possible accommodations I can ask for at work if I decide to disclose my disability. I'm very, very torn on this, since I work for a startup that's gone through two rounds of layoffs in the last year and a half. Can't help but feel it'll paint a target on my back.
Writing is just not happening. I've written maybe 5.5k words in the past three weeks, which is just a huge bummer. I get so much satisfaction out of writing, so to have the words abandon me really hurts. It's never been this bad before, so hopefully things improve soon. I have all these ideas, but can't find the words to express them.
That said, I've been doing some review exchanges and focusing on reading/reviewing other people's works, which has been really nice (although it's absolutely sucking up most of my remaining energy as I try to leave very thoughtful comments). It's been really great to get feedback on my work from people outside of the fandom. 🥰
I'm going to take some time off work and from posting my fic during the holidays, so hopefully I can recuperate. I have a lot of story left to write, so fingers crossed it works!
