Story - summarized

Yexiao loves nature, whether she is tending to her garden, petting her kitten, or - her favorite - watching petals fall in spring.

To her, the drifting petals are unique, each one with a different path, much like people. Just as she has met different neighbors and kind strangers, the petals float in different directions and at different times.

But unlike the transience of spring, some things last longer. In winter, a kitten and several chicks found shelter in Yexiao's yard, and they remain there to this day. An elderly lady lives next door to Yexiao, and the two share chatter and food. And one day, Yexiao meets a girl who is inspired by a designer from 300 years ago... who turns out to be Yexiao, in one of her past eras! Her legacy continues.

Spring may be over now, but Yexiao's journey continues. And she loves watching others on their journeys, be they a kitten or a human.

Connections

-Yexiao wonders about petals that get turned into bookmarks. Susan and her brother make flower bookmarks on their trip to Cloud in her Reflection for Message of Camellia.

-The girl that draws with Yexiao says that Yexiao was a famous designer from 300 years ago. While the era isn't confirmed, it's possible this could be the Melodies of the North hell event, which took place in ancient Lor River City.

Fun Facts

-Almost all of Yexiao's designs utilize motifs from nature, like flowers or birds. The only one that doesn't is her suit for December Troupe, Leah the Candy Witch.

-Flowers that represent spring and the transience of time include (but aren't limited to) blossoms, cherry blossoms (specifically), crocuses, daffodils, camellias, and hellebore.

today i took diced green peppers, seasoned them with salt and fresh black pepper and baked it at 8000 degrees for 22 hours. i make this whenever i want pile of smoldering ash.
