the simplistic vintage vibes of the style are actually rather easy to thrift! simple sweaters, skirts, etc. tend to go for super cheap (especially in colder/temperate climate regions)

i’ve gotten some of my best pieces via hand-me-downs. my tiffany and co bracelet that i wear daily was a hand-me-down :)

estate sales are another great avenue for true vintage pieces that are unlike any other

tights of all sorts are great accessories. most pharmacies and general stores in the us and mexico sell women’s tights for super cheap and in a variety of styles. i’ve also found many unopened pairs at thrift stores!

knee socks are a great alternative, altough some may find them too youthful for their personal style. definitely don’t knock ‘em til you try em tho!! this is perfect option for people w/ conditions that require compression socks

beauty products:

the makeup is super simplistic and often a little messy. u don’t need much more than some pharmacy mascara, lip gloss, and brow gel. personal fav for the brows is nyx brow glue!

you don’t need fancy chanel or guerlain perfume to smell like a doll. dollar stores & wholesale stores tend to actually have excellent body sprays/perfumes. a favorite of mine is cancan burlesque by paris hilton, found at 5below.

some perfumes offer body spray versions with the same scent, just a cheaper price. my favorite perfume (pink sugar by aquolina) retails for $18 at walmart, yet you can find the near identical body spray version for just $7!

media:

podcasts on spotify are free & have no ads! one i love is nymphet alumni

many books that are cult classics (ie. the bell jar, lolita, my year of rest and relaxation) can be found in free pdf form online

soundcloud, youtube, spotify, and bandcamp all offer free music (although they have ads)

you can find old dvds or even vhs tapes of older films at the thrift store and newer ones are often available on youtube. there’s always sketchy sites like soap2day but i don’t want anyone to get crazy malware!!

She’s an influencer! And she‘s actually doing her job, producing content, being invited to things / events on her own (& not as someone‘s plus one & didn‘t she shoot a perfume/ cosmetics/ beauty store ad just now in time for the holidays?)

That’s why I feel her house of cb dress TikTok actually feels „nice“, it’s giving who she is, & therefore it makes sense that H of CB reposted it in their year review. Even the Mexico dresses all fit her (with the first green one being a bit out there), she also sticks to some stable jewelry pieces, that one can find in multiple post on her insta etc. It‘s all a very cohesive outside appearance! Young, french, slightly more playful & feminine.

She also seems to look like a book character, or what some readers envision the character to look like, according to some comments on her TikTok & she’s always very cute about interacting with said comments.

Alexandra on the other hands is just a bit all over the place and very obviously trying to present a public picture that she doesn’t really embody in private, or at least her being all over the place at times gives that impression.

Also as someone who did study art history & now works in a big auction house (without trying to dox myself), her „art insta“ annoys me soo fucking much! At first I was like oh cute, loving the interest in art! But for god‘s sake she’s just so bad about properly naming the title, artist, museum the art works can be found in, and I’m alright with the general person not doing that, but someone who studied art history and is doing the whole „curated online art space“ spiel … that’s the bare fucking minimum! And I don’t even expect a whole new analysis of the art works,I know some people who „greatly dislike“ her took that as a reason to criticize her, but truly at some point you’ve heard ever possible description there is on an impressionist painting. (Though if she’s not even rewriting the museums description a little @museumxyz would be greatly appreciated)

Btw, at the start I actually did comment the artist or museum on a few of her posts. 😐 and another comment she liked 😬🙈 „calling out“ (can’t think of a better word) someone for being all oh your so knowledgeable about art, I’m not, where to even start can you share some. My answer was basically do your own research, look up museums, follow them on social media, find what you like. Don’t even know if the comment still exists (might have to delete it afterwards, as I’m not trying to dox myself). That was pretty much at the start & before her private insta turned public, my analysis of this will follow in the yapping somewhere down there 👇🏻 (I’m so fucking sorry for yapping soo much!)

As to why I think she doesn’t really align with her public person. I guess at the start she just was the next new thing for Charles a replacement fling (cause him & Charlotte have been soo over way before the last race, the vibes had been of since late summer or the public announcement, & that was only done to make it public and avoid any major controversy/ questions e.g. Lando/ Luisa) that’s why she was never really seen until Monaco.

Interlude: What I found really eyebrow raising though is how fast people clocked who she was, like full on name/ insta handle etc. So either herself mostly through some friends or someone who really couldn’t stand her made that public. I mean sure people full on stalk him, but that was a bit too crazy fast. And that one insta account tagging everyone in Charles life, from friend to family & even his management, in posts about a brunette that barley looked anything like Alex, saying she’s a prostitute. That one got blocked pretty fast tough, equally some crazy stuff.

I think by Monaco the fling was more serious for Charles (who as much as I appreciate him as a driver & person, just can’t be single to safe his life), she can be around all the time/ seems to put her life/ family/ friends on the backburner for him. All amazing things to have if one wants to stick to a man who’s job makes him travel 80% of the year. And loose yourself in the process unless your a confident woman, strong woman, who has her own life. Unfortunately that does not apply to most sports wags.

So since it got more „serious“ in Charles version of serious by Monaco & Monaco is always crazy intrusive into his life, he did the nice little APM/ Hello France (was is?) interview & was all „en couple“ giving that whole things some public validation.

Interlude: at that time I found that white Meshki dress video so hella intrusive, now I’m asking myself who actually did film it? Was that really just a „fan“ who happened about her on the street? (And in Monaco there unfortunately enough crazy f1 driver stalkers, do you guys remember them ringing on Charles‘s door?) Because the way it ended up on Meshiki‘s social media Channels (and sure they tend to repost a lot & fans got her crazy exposure that day) got me a bit hm… 🤔

After Monaco with all been there she appeared more, got her name on the f1 broadcast, made her insta public & did a fuckton of ads that were never ads.

And here we finally arrive at the point I tell you why I thinks she doesn’t really allign public & private perception.

Instead of an influencer (like Jade) who’s been working & „currating“ what they stand for e.g. beauty, fashion, life style, etc. She‘s desperately trying to get her hands on everything the various bikini/ dress brands. Now that Rhodes Ad 🙄 … it’s all over the fucking place. She doesn’t show us who she really is. She likes art but gives us the bare fucking minimum about that (see above). In relation to my comment about looking up info yourself, yes it was only early days, but even now she barley really interacts besides ❤️ comments. She’s not sharing any knowledge on art history etc., she doesn’t post on the regular, truly she’s a bad influencer in that regard.

And her privet insta is all „aesthetics“ but she never shares anything truly personal or funny or for lack of better words real

Compared to others more curated girls in the general f1 adjunct circle (Jade) Kika, Flavi, heck even Rebecca or Kelly she’s giving 100% stepford wife. She’s a great nice looking phantasy that you can project what ever you want on. Even when we see her on screen during a race she’s always so conscious about her movements & facial expressions, she never (or very rarely lets go& when she does e.g. Monaco it looks soo acted). The only times she’s not is when she’s not aware of cameras filming her & then 90% of the time she just suffers from a seriously unfortunate case of resting bitch face.

my scent experience:

juicy, sweet and berry-like. if you don’t know what cassis is, it’s french for blackcurrant and blackcurrants in perfume are so good. I love that blackcurrants are sweet but not too sweet of a scent that it doesn’t make you feel sick. I love how juicy and delicious this smells and the bergamot makes it bright and fun. this is the body spray version of their best-selling bubble bar so if you are familiar with that product, you would like this.

the projection for this body spray is so intense, you only need two sprays to smell good. any more than that, it’s overpowering and can give you a migraine — thankfully I’ve learnt this the easy way from a Lush employee. the longevity however isn’t that great, it would last approximately 2 hours on me but considering it’s a body spray, I wasn’t expecting it to last forever.

the way Seonghwa and I have the same taste in perfume? did not expect that but that means he’s got excellent taste in fragrances at least in my opinion. I bought this in store right before the pandemic so this was the scent I was wearing during lockdown lmao. it’s been quite a while since I’ve finished my bottle but I still think about it from time to time. I’ll probably buy a bottle when I visit Lush as I’ve heard stories of the body sprays leaking in transit. I just checked online and they also sell this scent as a soap bar so that’s pretty cool.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who loves the scent of blackcurrants and/or enjoys the comforter bubble bar.

Born to a single mother, brought up on a host of stories of what her birth father was like but never who he was. Despite the echo of emptiness Jordana felt at times, when she saw others with their fathers, she never wanted for anything growing up with her mother. In fact, with only the knowledge that her father wanted nothing to do with her, Jordy never even thought of looking for the man.

With the various pseudo parental influences in her background, Jordy grew up with a well rounded personality. She learned to charm the socks off of anyone she met from the former actress down the street, and developed a love for reading thanks to the librarian who recommended a number of books to her over the years. She learned how to hotwire a car from a mechanic, and how to play chess from the older neighbor across the street. Her friend circle in school was eclectic to a fold, gathering people from all walks of life into her group and befriending even more outside of it.

As she grew up, she knew she wanted to travel in or after college, which lead to her getting 2 years of college done before she even finished high school. It gave her the time to travel for a month or so before finishing college when she came back, and settled back into town. She found a job at Uncle Sam’s Diner, and has been waitressing there for the past few years.

In all honesty, life is going great for Jordy. It’s normal, and she likes it that way. She likes her hometown, her family dynamic, loves her boyfriend, she’s even gained a decent follower count on her blog where she posts her online comic series (under a pseudonym). There’s nothing to complain about.

So when news more recently broke about her being the first child of the Tomás Gibson, Jordy was absolutely floored. Sure her mother had been vague about her birth father’s identity, but never in a million years would she have guessed that the Gibson Patriarch was her dad. Frankly, she’s terrified of what this news might cause, and right now she’s just worried about her mother.

Jordana’s lasted 23 years without knowing her father, she has absolutely no plans to make the first move to know him now.

Morfydd gave a new interview at the Canneseries TV Festival about "Rings of Power" and teased season 2!!! :D It's in French but my browser translated it and I'll post behind a cut and a link in the comments to the article, but she actually mentioned how she and Charlie played Galadriel and Halbrand/Sauron's relationship as ambiguous so that it could be interpreted however the audience wanted to see it including romantically!!! LOL :D And it was Charlie's idea. LOL Could be the translation but that seems to be what she said which contradicts the press tour and what Charlie said in interviews. Then she also went into how she's been playing Galadriel being so sad and lonely and how devastated she is about what Halbrand/Sauron did to her, but is happy to know thanks to the LOTR movies and books she loved her whole life that she'll be ok and reunited with Celeborn at some point!!! It's the first time she's mentioned Celeborn in an interview too. She also then went on to say she's excited to see Charlie fully as Sauron in season 2, which seems to confirm like the other spoilers he's still the main form going forward. Again full translation behind the cut but I'm even more excited for s2 and honestly this confirms to me Galadriel really was in love with Halbrand/Sauron and still loves her husband too like I thought all along.

Floated Friday night on the Croisette, an air of Middle-earth. To open its sixth edition, the Canneséries festival presented its revelation prize to Morfydd Clark. In the Amazon Prime blockbuster series The Rings of Power, a prelude to the events described by Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings, the Welsh actress appropriates the character of Galadriel. The future great and wise elf queen of Peter Jackson's trilogy, played by Cate Blanchett. For her first recurring role in a series, the 32-year-old actress rose to the top. But remains in interview of disarming spontaneity and enthusiasm.

Le Figaro - What inspires you about this Madame Figaro Rising Star Award? Morfydd Clark. - I can't believe it. I am deeply grateful. It's a crazy chance to headline a program watched all over the world. At school, I was a calamity in French. Having been unable to unravel this mystery, I have always had the impression that your culture and language were phenomenal. This prize of a French festival so young, so warm touches me more than you imagined.

The Rings of Power ended with the thunderous revelation that Galadriel's Halbrand's alluring traveling companion was none other than the devious and dangerous Sauron in human form. Which unleashed the fans. Did you follow their turbulent debates? I've never been more anxious in my life than in the weeks leading up to the show's launch. Until that moment, The Rings of Power belonged to me in its entirety. Once online, it becomes the property of the fans. I love their imagination. I don't go on the Internet. But my sister scours the forums and selects me the theories that I might like. Some extraordinary ones defy comprehension. Others are aiming for the nail on the head. But I can't tell you more. I did not expect that the relationship between Galadriel, Elrond and Halbrand would be so dissected even if I imagine that the slightest perfume of prohibition - and still I am afraid with this word to say something I should not - can only stir passions. Halbrand's hold on Galadriel was less connoted in the scripts. It was Charlie Vickers who plays Halbrand who had the idea to make it ambiguous. Supposing that these quasi-divine beings can feel human emotions. Were we in a relationship of seduction or power? It's up to the viewer to decide. Extremely kind, Charlie was the best partner to play it. I can't wait to see what he does with his Sauron.

Looking back, how do you view Galadriel's trajectory? In The Lord of the Rings, Galadriel is at peace with her and rules Lothlorien. The series takes this path backwards by imagining the most extreme starting point. It's soothing to know that no matter how sad, her loneliness consumes her soul entirely and obliterates the rest in this first season, to which is added Halbrand's betrayal, she will overcome these trials. For the immortal beings that are the elves, the course of time is different. One can be separated for a lifetime and find oneself like Galadriel and her husband Celeborn, currently missing but present in The Lord of the Rings. That's what I love about fantasy: through magic pierce human experiences.

You've said it over and over again, Tolkien's writings rocked your childhood. I was born in Sweden. It was first the stories of Astrid Lindgreen, creator of Fifi brindacier, who accompanied me. It was my gateway into fantasy. Suffering from attention disorders that made my schooling trying, the fantasy characters, who managed to exist differently, were a great source of comfort. Wandering the Misty Mountains with the Hobbits, who have always had my heart because of their benevolence and vulnerability, was a wonderful escape. Peter Jackson's trilogy came out when I was 12. I was spellbound. During a bad time at school, I even watched The Two Towers every day. My parents were a little worried (laughs). When I realized that I was auditioning for The Rings of Power, I said to myself: "No room for failure, you must succeed". To find myself in the New Zealand landscapes was an enchantment.

What was the tipping point that made you embrace your acting career? I had to leave school at 16. I absolutely did not know how to endure and manage the stress of exams. I auditioned to join the Welsh Youth Theatre Company. I couldn't believe that after so much criticism at school, they finally wanted me. On stage, no one scolded me anymore. I made people laugh. For the first time in my life, I felt like I belonged. I went on to get a place in a conservatory. I was incredibly lucky that my first steps in front of the camera were in 2014 in front of Carol Morley's historical drama The Falling. She protected us, made us feel safe. It is no coincidence that the actresses of this project Maisie Williams (Game Of Thrones) and Florence Pugh (Don't Worry Darling) are nowadays so much in demand. The psychological horror film Saint Maud which was my first experience of a leading role was also a special experience. I discovered that I loved horror, a mind-blowing testing ground with an audience that still appreciates risk-taking, even if it doesn't work.

What can you tell us about season 2 of the Rings of Power that you are filming? Nothing, except that it's exciting! I'm too afraid to accidentally let slip a spoiler. It's amazing to be able to reconnect with your character and your playing partners. It was also necessary to get back in shape: horseback riding, fight sequence and stunts. I kind of let myself go on that (laughs). One of the most surreal moments was the passage of Prince Williams on our sets. It's amazing to think that this public figure is a fan of our work. We even chatted in Welsh!
