He tried taking you downstairs to his "art studio" once so y'all could spend time together but he chose a bad time to do so as Bo came downstairs carrying a dead body which sent you into a frenzy
You locked yourself in your room and cried most of the night while Vincent, silently, went off on Bo
After awhile Vincent walked upstairs to your room to apologize, just to see you not there and the window wide open
He also noticed tons of empty beer bottles and medicine containers
He runs over to the window and notices your getting into his truck and quickly rushes out after you
By the time he makes his way downstairs, you've already drove off and almost out of town
He is absolutely crushed
His darling child ran off, and it's all his twins fault
He's gonna get Lester to go looking for you, and he his going off even worse on Bo now
Bo actually feels bad now, although he is calling you a little priss, he does feel bad for scaring his brothers child away
So now Bo is looking for you too
Needless to say, they find you eventually on the side of the road throwing up
They take you home, however you start staying with Lester on the outskirts of town so you are less likely to encounter victims or the bodies of victims

A mother and her daughter had found their way into town and instead of going out himself, Bo sent you
He handed you the shotgun and sent you on your way
Well, you killed the mom, but couldn't kill the little girl (not like he would make you kill a child) so you instead took her to your dad's (Bo's) truck and told her to sit there
Anyways, at first, not thinking you would do such a thing, he asked Vincent and Lester, receiving the same answers from both of them
"I ain't seen no liquor in a while."
After a while of thinking he had drunk it and forgot, he heard a thud upstairs, in your room
The thump was followed by a small "Ow" and some giggles
He slowly made it up the steps, calling out for you
He goes to push the door open, but he hears a truck start outside
He rushes out just to see you in the front seat of his truck with a little girl in the passenger seat
You pulled out of the driveway and handed the little girl one of his liquor bottles to throw at him
And throw she did, it landed directly between his eyes, knocking him out on contact
You had stolen his wallet before leaving, so it's safe to say, you're not coming back

He doesn't even really kill unless he's like protecting his family, himself, or his gas station
He doesn't mind you not wanting to be around the violence and won't go out of his way to shield you from it, but he'll place his hand or arm across your eyes if your close enough
Overall, possibly the best parent

He tries to be more sympathetic with you, but gives up eventually and hits you with his broom until you stop crying or Bubba runs him off
Don't get me wrong, Bubba is scared of him, but he will push him away from you or fuck something up else where to get Drayton off your back a little bit
Leave it to uncle Bubba to take a beating for you
Nubbins also tries to help sometimes by spitting at Drayton and getting him to chase him, but it doesn't really work half as much as it does with Bubba as Nubbins just runs off and hides while Bubba actually takes the beating
Chop Top doesn't really care but if he does see it getting excessive, he will throw something at Drayton and run
Once again, not as much of a relief as Bubba's unless Bubba rushes in, picks you up and hides you from him

100% the most caring one
He tries to shield you from it, can and will go out of his way to shield you from it
^A few victims have gotten away because of that
He kinda feels like if you're around it long enough then you'll get used to it (desensitized to it like he is)
He tried testing the theory once, but after witnessing you go through a panic attack so bad he was scared he almost killed you, he never done it again
He definitely shields you from Drayton too
He makes sure to send you into the field of sunflowers when he knows that they are gonna kill people that night
That ended after a victim tried to kidnap you tho, so now you are sent to your room with a pair of headphones and Chop-Tops records

New idea: Rafe is friends with an autistic reader(female I apologize) mentions of good aversion, sensitivity to noise, swimming, masking.
"Is the food okay, dear?" Rose places a hand on your shoulder which you try to contain your uneasiness but you were a little weary of her and physical contact was something you were still getting use to so you tried your best to mask it.
You offer a smile and nod, "Oh yes, Mrs. Cameron it all looks so good I'm just-"
"She's autistic, Rose...I'll just bake her something else." Rafe speaks up, placing his napkin down and gets up from his seat and you felt heat rise to your cheeks as you didn't want Rose to feel offended or make anything awkward, "No! Rafe I-i can try it- look!" You almost clumsily pick up your fork, circling the spaghetti around your fork but then looks at it for a moment, the sauce seeming almost offensive towards you and you shake your head. "Yeah, no nevermind..I'm so sorry...I know you put so much effort into this I just-" you rambled on as your people pleaser tentacles start to kick in and you look around fanatically between Rose and the plate in front of you.
"Y/N for the love of God, shut up-its fine just come with me and I'll see what I can make for you- let's go." He snaps his fingers towards the door that leads inside and you sheepishly smile at Rose before rising out of your seat and walk inside.
Rafe follows, sliding the glass door closed and goes over to the freezer. "What would it be? Chicken nuggets and fries again?" He looks over at you, holding the handle to the freezer and you shrug, "I don't know kind of getting bored of that being a safe food." You say as you lean against the counter, feeling awful and like you were a nuisance towards him and his family. "But I can deal with it."
"Nonsense, I'll just keep looking. Hey, how about some apples and peanut butter? Both healthy and contain protein." He asks, opening a cabinet and looking around, moving things about.
You wave him off, "honestly I can wait...I can just go hole and order mcdonalds."
"McDonald's isn't exactly a healthy choice." He says and you shrug, "there's a Chinese place down by where I live."
"And I think you order so much that thats the reason they're still open."
You roll your eyes. "Really Rafe, I can just wait..."
"Then you'll get cranky from your blood sugar dropping and you'll start to get panicky...remember the last time? You kept hitting your head and I thought you were gonna have a concussion." He sighs, running his hand through his hair as he closes the cabinet, looking over at you.
"Whats up with you tism people and fast food?" He asks, walking over to you.
"Convient, you don't have to make it or stress for like 30 minutes looking for what may look good, and if you order from a place enough it's a no brainer on what to eat." You shrug as you explain.
"You need to have a home cooked meal at some point." He states, placing his hands on his hips and staring down at you.
You chuckle, "Well until you become my personal chef I'd have to wait...you're very patient with me." You mumbles the last part, fiddling with your hands and he takes hold of them. You noticed his hands felt warm and you look up at him, "You're special to me."
You tilt your head at him, "Is that a special needs joke?"
He grins and wraps his arm around your shoulder, "Could be but you're still special...c'mon...let's go get some mcdonalds and worry about our health when we're old." He escorts you both to the front of the house.
"I'll still be eating chicken nuggets at 50."
"If you're alive by then with your health choices."

TWST Cast Mid-Effort Snacks They Make
Listen I'm no wizard in the kitchen but I think I can make some half decent snacks. That being said, this post is long, does not have accurate measurements for half of it, bc why the hell would I actually write stuff down I Totally Don't Forget Things All The Time.
Also like. mid-effort snacks. You know, you're not just Opening a bag of chips but you are going to need. At least a microwave. (also, using minimal dishes possible nobody wants to clean up). This is all stuff I've made or at least eaten, myself, lmk if you try it or if I missed a vital detail LMAO
ANYWAYS if this post is popular enough I'll share some like. Actual recipes as well, the Culinary Crucible thingy finally came in and I feel INSPIRED, some of these have little uhh like 'justification' or story behind them some don't bc I feel like it's obvious. GTAT refers to the section at the end, I got tired of writing it out over and over again sldkjhklsjdf ---------------------------------------------------
Heartslaybul
Riddle - (Dark) Chocolate Strawberry Bark
Materials and Ingredients: - Parchment paper - Cutting board/cookie tray - Microwave-safe bowl - Knife - Strawberries (it's okay if they're overripe, as long as you can still cut them safely) - (Dark) Chocolate chips or Nutella, your choice - Peanut butter - Sweetened condensed milk (scm) - Plastic container - Freezer
Instructions:
Cut your parchment paper to about the size of a cookie sheet, but really it depends on how many strawberries you're using (I do not remember how many I used, I think it was like 8, you do not need many, especially if you cut them really thin) and put on top of cutting board/cookie sheet. A flexible cutting board is best, but it's whatever fits in your freezer.
Destem your strawberries and slice them thinly while they're standing upright. Like the part you destemmed is against the parchment paper. (or cutting board but y'know. Why Dirty It). Place them laying down on the parchment paper as close to each other as possible. I found like. Fitting the triangle shapes together like teeth was the easiest way but something else might work better for you. Dice one or two strawberries and set aside.
In a bowl, measure out about a cup of chocolate. If it seems like too much, you can just. eat it ig or dip leftover strawberries into it like I did. If it's not enough, babe just add more it's okay lmao. If you're using chocolate chips, add some sort of fat before you microwave (any oil, lard/Crisco, butter, margarine, etc.) in fifteen second intervals. (if you don't have a microwave, there are instructions under 'General tips and tricks' to hopefully help!). If you're using Nutella, just pop that bad boy in there for fifteen second intervals. In both cases, mix in between intervals until it's kind of runny.
Pour chocolate evenly over the strawberries, at least enough to cover them completely from the top/fill any gaps that are present. Wash the bowl, and repeat the process with peanut butter.
This is optional I really like chocolate and think it's more aesthetically pleasing than peanut butter, but peanut butter doesn't harden as well as chocolate does to bind the strawberry layer together so I couldn't put it first. I did another layer of chocolate on top, but it was thinner than the original one.
Sprinkle diced strawberries on top, and drizzle SCM to your hearts content. (Any leftover SCM needs to be put into a separate container and can stay in your fridge for up to 3 weeks).
Freeze it. It's just faster this way and helps the peanut butter out. I left mine in there for a day, but I think it's okay after like an hour, idk, you decide.
Snap/cut your bark into smaller pieces, use the parchment paper to help line whatever container you're going to use and store your treat in there. I enjoyed these treats best frozen or on top of vanilla ice cream, but they do need to be kept at least refrigerated. Fair warning, if you're a slow eater, these will get messy if you wait too long slkdjfhlkjsdfsdf recommend you eat with a fork.
THE REST ARE UNDER THE CUT WOOT WOOT (Riddle's is easily one of the higher effort ones, so do not be dismayed! There are some on this list with only 2 ingredients, I just talk a lot LMAO)
Trey - Tanghulu No baking required, still satisfies his sweet tooth.
Materials and Ingredients: - Stove (someone said you can use a microwave, IIIIII don't Like That for this, but I'm sure you can) - Fruit (doesn't really matter what kind. I used kiwis, strawberries, and grapefruit.) - White sugar - Water - Bowl of ice water - Fork (skewers are better but I didn't have any, and toothpicks...don't fw toothpicks for this okay??) - Parchment paper\Plate (you just need to make sure it's hardened BEFORE you put the fruit on it kdfjhsfjkd)
Instructions:
Ensure your fruit is washed/dried, peeled or otherwise "ready to eat" before starting
Use a 2:1 sugar to water ratio and put it in a pot. (So 2 cups of sugar to 1 cup of water, or a more likely amount you'll actually use up is 1 cup of sugar to 1/2 cup of water)
Heat on medium and watch closely, it's not suggested you mix it, I did, just by swirling the pot to make sure all the sugar was in the water, but then I left it alone. You'll see it starting to change colour to yellow-y rather than clear. Use a spoon/fork to dip into the sugar mixture and then immediately into the bowl of ice water. If it appears stringy or is still soft and sticky to touch, it's not ready yet. Keep boiling until your test drop solidifies on contact/within seconds of being in the ice water.
Turn the heat down slightly and use your fork or skewer to poke your fruit, and dip carefully into sugar mixture. Immediately, (but carefully) place your sugar covered fruit into the ice bowl. Once you take it out, it should only take a moment to harden before you place it on a plate/parchment paper.
Intended to be eaten immediately, does not store very well. Check 'general tips and tricks' for how to clean the pot/fork
Cater - Spicy Garlic Cheese Bread
Materials and Ingredients: - French Bread (works the best, but you can use whatever bread you have on hand) or premade garlic bread - Butter/Margarine - Salad herbs (like the premade mix or whatever, other seasonings optional) - (Shredded) Cheese - Jalapenos - Other toppings + hot sauce (optional) - Bowl - Spoon - Microwave - Oven
Instructions:
If using premade garlic bread, skip to step 3. Otherwise, get your bowl and chunk of butter (if using french bread, I would say about a half cup) and pop it in the microwave just long enough to get it soft, but not melted. Measure salad herbs with your heart and mix with a spoon.
Cut your bread in half and slather that son of a bitch in butter, having worked in a bakery I know that premade garlic bread literally gets a Handful of "butter" (it's margarine) that just gets. Slathered onto half of a day-old French bread loaf. (Safeway. Looking at you.) If you want to try putting on some BBQ sauce or tomato sauce now would be your time to add it. If you are adding sauce, a little less butter is recommended otherwise it will get Soggy
Put on as much cheese as you want. Whatever cheese you want. I'm not the boss of you.
Throw on jalapenos and any other toppings you want. (red onions, bell peppers, make it a meal with some chicken or something idk)
Broil on high until It Looks Right, as in the cheese is melted and golden brown in some areas (assuming it's marble cheese), or wrap in aluminum foil (risky with The Cheese) and bake at 350 F for like 10 minutes (I still recommend baking over broiling but it's your choice bestie)
Drizzle with hot sauce if you want/any other condiments.
French bread is pretty big, so cut into smaller pieces and share with friends/family/your neighbour/ whatever or full send it or you can try to store it, I think once it's cooled, a plastic bag would be the best bet for storage, and only for a day or two before your bread gets Sad.
Deuce - Ants on a Log He used to love it when his mom would send him to school with these.
Materials and Ingredients: - Cutting board (unless you would like to be a heathen like me) - Knife - Celery - Peanut butter - Raisins/Chocolate chips/Cereal/whatever you want
Instructions:
Decide if you even want to bother cutting your celery, you can leave it whole if you really want.
If you want to cut your celery, cut it according to taste or break that motherfucker with your bare hands just to hear it snap and get that little bit of Emotion and satisfaction out of it. Not recommended if you want bite sized pieces. Generally only cut in a way that keeps the 'sides' of the celery in tact, like you should have a little 'dip' to put peanut butter in, but its ok if its not comfortable to eat it that way and you need to cut it vertically as well, nbd, BUT DON'T CUT IT THAT WAY YET it's so much harder to get the peanut butter on.
Use a butter knife to add peanut butter to your celery. It should fill the little valley in between the sides of the stalk. **Now would be the time to cut again if you want Planks if you know what I mean
Add your toppings, be it raisins, chocolate chips, etc. along the peanut butter to represent the ants slkdjhflksjdf
Ace - Oreo Mug Cake His brother showed him once and he didn't stop since.
Materials and Ingredients: - Oreos - Milk - Fork - Microwave safe mug - Microwave - Whipped Cream (optional)
Instructions:
Get your mug.
Throw 4-6 Oreos in. (4 for an 8 ounce mug, more for a bigger one) and soak in 1 less tablespoon of milk than the amount of cookies you put in. (so 3 tbs for an 8 ounce mug)
The longer you soak them, the easier it is to crush them and break them up, it should become kind of cakey texture already
Pop that bad boy in the microwave for a minute, and in 20 second intervals after that as necessary. Its not like it matters if it's 'raw' though.
Let it cool until you can handle the mug comfortably, add whipped cream or other toppings and enjoy!

Leona - Bacon Wrapped Sausages
Materials and Ingredients: - Baking dish (should have some depth to it) - Parchment paper - Cocktail sausages - Bacon - Scissors/Knife - Toothpicks - Brown sugar (optional) - Oven
Instructions:
Cut your bacon in half
Preheat your oven to 350 F. Roll up cocktail sausage in half a rasher of bacon and secure in place with a toothpick.
Place parchment paper in/on baking dish and place the rolls inside
Once you've prepared as many as you'd like, you can sprinkle brown sugar on top.
Bake for about an hour
Ruggie - Elote Loco (Mexican street corn/ 'crazy corn')
Materials and Ingredients: - Canned corn - Mayo - Lemon/Lime - Salt - Pepper - Cayenne - Bowl
Instructions:
Drain your corn can, then add corn to your bowl
Literally. Add everything else according to taste. Heat if you want to, or put in the fridge to eat cold. (I like it cold).
Jack - Fruit Leather (this is a higher-effort, more time-consuming recipe)
Materials and Ingredients - Cutting board (not optional this time :/) - Knife/Corer (if applicable) - Stove - Large saucepan - Water - Blender/Potato Masher - Lemon/Sugar/Cinnamon/Nutmeg, Etc. (optional, but recommended) - Parchment paper - Baking tray - Oven - Pizza cutter (makes things easier, not necessary)
Instructions:
Prepare your fruit. (Wash, peel, destem, core them, remove pits, etc.)
Chop into chunks, and simmer in 1/2 cup of water for every 4 cups of fruit while covered for 10-20 minutes, or until fruit is cooked. You can mash by hand or just go ahead and transfer everything to a blender, but you will have to transfer back into the pot after.
Taste, and add sugar/lemon/spices according to your preference.
Simmer and stir until everything is mixed in completely and the puree has thickened. (5-10 minutes)
Preheat oven to 140 F (check GTAT at the end for troubleshooting). Puree thoroughly in a blender/food processor.
Line baking tray and pour puree evenly onto it, it should be about 1/4 inch thick. Bake for 8-12 hours.
Use pizza cutter to cut into smaller pieces. You can cut the parchment paper underneath and roll the pieces accordingly to store.
This is a more labour intensive snack, BUT it keeps for sooo long. It can keep at room temp in ziploc bag for a month. In the fridge for 6 months. In the freezer for a year. Also a really good way to use overripe fruit.
Octavinelle
Azul - Funnel Cakes >:D (I had to look up a recipe to base the measurements off of, I did not memorize this, but I changed a few things when I Actually Made them)
Materials and Ingredients: - Stove - Large pan - Oil (Vegetable oil, but I think coconut or sunflower oil should work too if you have certain restrictions) - 1/4 cup Milk - 1 Egg - 1 tbsp Water - Splash of Vanilla extract (splash is generally between a 1/4 tsp and 1 tsp To Me) - White sugar (to taste) - 3/4 tsp Baking powder - Pinch of Salt - 1/2 cup Flour - Powdered sugar (to taste) - Cinnamon (to taste) - Plate - Paper towel - Large measuring cup - Fork or tongs - Other toppings (optional)
Instructions:
Throw all the Wet ingredients into the large measuring cup and whisk
Add sugar, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder, whisk until combined
Add oil to pan and start heating on medium, it should be about an inch deep to deep fry. Add flour to measuring cup and whisk until smooth.
(Refer to GTAT at the end to know when oil is hot enough). Use the measuring cup to drizzle the batter in a line around the pan and overlap as desired. Honestly, the thicker the lines the better imo. Cook for 2 minutes until golden brown, then flip and repeat.
Once cooked, move carefully to plate with paper towel to soak up the oil, and add powdered sugar on top. Add other toppings as desired.
Jade - Roasted Chickpeas Easy protein to bring on a hike
Materials and Ingredients: - Can of chickpeas - Baking tray - Parchment paper - Olive oil - Seasoning as you wish (Personal recommendation: garlic powder, salt, paprika, pepper and a little cayenne) - Oven
Instructions:
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 400 F.
Drain your can of chickpeas, rinse, then drain again. Try and dry them out a bit before you season them, either leaving them in a colinder or letting them sit out on paper towels or a cloth...or on the tray if you've got time to kill. **If you don't like the feeling of oil on your hands, you might have an extra dish to wash but thats okay. Add your chickpeas to a glass bowl before the next step.
Transfer chickpeas to the tray (if you're not using the bowl) and coat with a generous amount of oil. Add seasonings as you wish, then mix with your hands (or a spoon if you're using the bowl, then transfer to the tray.)
Bake for 20-30 minutes, shaking the pan gently about every 10 minutes to help rotate the chickpeas. Once they're golden brown and crunchy, they're done.
Best eaten straight away, but you can keep them in container for a few days.
Floyd - Trail Mix (AKA the ADHD snack Ever imo)
Materials and Ingredients - Anything you got in your pantry that already kinda qualifies as a snack food - Something to put it in (bag or bowl/container with a lid is preferable) - My favourite mix to make is granola, cranberries, raisins, and chocolate chips
Instructions
Grab your materials
If you're using something that should probably cut up, (like fruit by the foot or something idk) just rip it and throw it in the Container.
Mix everything in a bowl or bag. Use more of your Favourite Ingredient than everything else, then close your storage thing.
Shake that motherfucker
Put everything back (or do this As You Add it so you're left with nothing to clean up at the end)
Scarabia
Kalim - The Forbidden (I made this when I was like 6 for a week straight after school, I DO NOT recommend) He came up with this as a midnight snack and didn't want to bother Jamil.
Materials and Ingredients - Microwave - Microwave safe bowl - Chocolate chips - Mini marshmallows - Fork - A very high tolerance for Texture and Sweetness
Instructions:
Put chocolate chips and marshmallows in the bowl
Microwave for 15 second intervals, mixing with your fork in between.
When it becomes a sticky amalgamation from hell and looks like a dung beetle would be proud of it, it's done.
Jamil - Fattoush He saves the leftovers of the dishes he makes for Kalim throughout the day in order to make some version of Fattoush
Materials and Ingredients: - Cutting board - Knife + Pizza cutter (not necessary, but fun) - Lettuce - Tomato - Cucumber - Radishes - Pita bread - Pan - Stove - Olive oil - Salt + pepper - Bowl x 2 - Glass measuring cup - Lemon juice - Garlic powder, dried mint, and sumac (you don't have to use these) - (I like adding Granny smith apples and goat or feta cheese, but it's not traditional)
Instructions:
Cut up your veggies like you would for any salad and throw em in a bowl
Use the pizza cutter to slice pita bread into smaller, bite sized pieces.
Fry the pieces with a little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper, then set aside in a different bowl so they stay Crunchy
In the glass measuring cup use about 2 tbsp of lemon juice, add some garlic powder, dried mint, salt, pepper, sumac, and whisk.
Slowly stream in about 3 tbsp of olive oil and whisk continuously until it combines. (this might take a while to emulsify, yes you can use a hand mixer on low if you want)
Drizzle dressing over your salad portion, and add pita chips as you wish

Materials and Ingredients - Cutting board + knife - Grapes, red and green if possible - Granola - Blueberries (they can be frozen) - Cherries, cored/halved except one (can also be frozen) - Yogurt (I prefer vanilla for this stuff, Vil probably uses plain Greek yogurt and some honey for sweetness) - A wine glass, otherwise just a clear glass makes it look best, but it doesnt really matter - Spoon
Instructions:
Dice those grapes as small or large as you like, mine are generally the size of like. The eraser end of a pencil. Set aside.
Get your glass and gently spoon yogurt into the bottom, up by about 2 inches. If you have the patience, gently arrange the blueberries into a 1 berry layer. If not, just grab less than a handful of blueberries and put them on top of the yogurt.
Add another inch of yogurt to completely cover the berry layer, and add a thin layer of granola. Cover completely with yogurt again, using another inch-2 inches to do so
Again, if you have the patience, you can arrange your cherry halves into a nice circle to completely cover the yogurt layer. If not, do the same thing as the blueberries.
Cover with another inch-two inches of yogurt. Add a thicker band of granola this time, and top with yogurt once more, to nearly the top of the glass.
Add your whole cherry to the middle of the parfait, and add the mix of diced grapes around it. ** if you used frozen fruit, let it thaw for a couple minutes so you can see the colour bleed into the yogurt a bit bc it looks cool. Rook - Maakouda A guilty pleasure of his. He remembers them fondly from home. Works best with leftover mashed potatoes.
Materials and Ingredients: - Mashed potatoes (if you don't have left overs, just boil chunked potatoes in lightly salted water. Once they're soft, drain them, use a handmixer to mix, add some butter/whipping cream, season as you wish (garlic powder, salad herbs, salt, pepper), add shredded cheese if you want idc. Once everything is mixed you got yourself. Mashies.) - Egg - Garlic, Parsley, Cumin, Tumeric, Salt, Pepper - Flour in a bowl - Oil - Pan - Stove** - you can use an air-fryer for this if you want - Slotted spoon/tongs/fork - Plate w/ paper towel

For every 2 cups of mashed potatoes, you will add one egg, but don't do it yet. Add seasoning to your mashed potatoes first so you can taste and adjust the flavour as necessary, THEN add your egg(s).
Start heating oil, (about 2 inches) in a pan at medium heat. While you wait for it to get to temperature, (Look at GTAT to know when the oil is hot enough) roll your potato mixture into small balls and roll in flour
Fry until golden. Remove from oil using your utensil of choice and let it drain on the paper towel
Repeat until all the "batter" is used up

Materials and Ingredients - Sweetened Condensed Milk (if you don't just have dulce de leche on hand) - Apples (Granny Smith recommended) - Two glass baking pans, one larger than the other - Water - Oven
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425 F
Pour SCM into smaller glass pan, cover with foil
Place smaller glass pan into larger glass pan. Fill the larger glass pan with as much water as necessary to cover the level of SCM in the smaller pan
Throw it in the oven for like 2 hours and monitor periodically to refill with water if necessary. Keep cooking until it's the colour golden brown you want
Once it's to colour, remove from oven carefully, remove foil, and remove from larger glass pan carefully.
Once cool enough, store in glass jar if possible, or wait longer and store it in a plastic container.
Cut up apple and whatever is left in the pan, scrape it out with the apple and eat it lmaooo unless you have a silicone spatula ain't no way you getting all that caramel out of the pan. Serve yourself more as necessary lmao

Materials and Ingredients: - Crushed Oreos (Oreos + double bagged ziploc bags and you Gamer Rage sldfhlskdjfhlsj) - Whipped Cream - (If making from scratch, you'll need whipping cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar + hand mixer. Just throw ingredients in to taste and mix) - Chocolate pudding - Gummy worms - Rolling pin (optional) - Mixing bowl (glass or metal preferable) - Spatula - (Clear) Glass
Instructions:
Crush the Oreo's by any means necessary. Obliterate them.
Pack the Oreo remains into the bottom of your cup
Mix your whipped cream with the chocolate pudding using the spatula to fold it into each other until it Tastes Right. That is subjective, so if you Like it and it's Brown you Did It.
Spoon/plap how much of your chocolate mousse you'd like into your cup. Throw in a couple gummy worms, add more oreo corpse if you want then fill to the top with chocolate mousse.
Top with more oreo ashes and more gummy worms
Leftover mousse is pretty versatile if you have it with fruit or make more worms and dirt, but it only keeps for a day or two in the fridge

Materials and Ingredients: - Canned black beans - Salsa (optional) - Chicken bouillon - Oil - Pan/Stove - Wooden spoon/potato masher - Chips or some sort of bread
Instructions:
Drain a little more than half of the Bean Juice
Over medium heat, add a little bit of oil to the pan, (enough to cover the bottom), and add the Beans
As it heats up and the remaining Bean Juice starts to bubble, add chicken bouillon and salsa to taste.
Mash the beans while they cook to mix in flavouring and to get beans to the right consistency. They'll be done when there's no liquid left sloshing around, but you can decide how Dry you want your beans
Add beans on top of tortilla chips, sprinkle cheese on top and call it done, throw some in a burrito or on top of salad, lightly toast some bread, put some mayo on it and add the beans, do what you want <3
Sebek - Salmon Croquettes
Materials and Ingredients: - Canned salmon - Diced bell peppers (choose your favourite colours)**go to GTAT for other substitutions and notes - Diced red onion - Egg (if you don't have any just add more mayo) - Worcestershire sauce - Mayo - Garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, other seasonings (your choice) -Bowl - Flour - Panko (optional, or substitute bread crumbs) - Oil - Stove/Pan - Tongs (you can try to use a fork but it won't always work lol) - Plate w/paper towel
Instructions:
Prepare your veggies, and drain salmon
Mix in with canned salmon, and add mayo, Worcestershire, and seasonings to taste. Add just a tiny bit more than you think you should in regards to spices because when you throw the flour in, it'll 'dilute' the flavour a bit
Lightly beat 1 egg for every 5 ounces of salmon (should be on the can) and add to mixture, using hands or wooden spoon to mix.
Add just enough flour and breadcrumbs to the mixture that it doesn't stick to your hands.
Set up your pan with oil, (just enough to cover the bottom), over medium heat and make little 'patties' out of your mix.
Fry your patties until golden brown (2-3 minutes) on both sides.
Remove from heat and place on plate to drain.

Crowley - Fuckit Fudge (AKA Rocky Road Fudge)
Materials and Ingredients: - Parchment paper - Cake pan - 2 cups Chocolate chips - SCM (14 oz = 1 3/4 cups, should be on the can) - 1/4 cup Butter - Vanilla - Marshmallows - Almonds - Anything else you want (just be aware you'll have to add more chocolate and you'll likely have to cut down on the other fillings as well) - Glass bowl - Spatula - Microwave/Double boiler (GTAT tells you how to make one) - Patience
Instructions:
Melt chocolate chips, SCM, and butter (about 90 seconds in the microwave)
While it's melting, set up your cake pan with parchment paper
Add a splash of vanilla extract and mix with spatula until smooth
Stir add-ins into mixture, and pour into cake pan carefully
Make sure mixture is spread evenly, and refrigerate until it solidifies (depends on how deep you made the fudge)
Cut into chunks and serve. Stores well in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Trein - Raspberry Cordial Not a 'snack' but like if the Shaftlands are known for ruby berries I feel like this is close enough. It's from Anne of Green Gables, shhh its soooo good
Materials and Ingredients - Raspberries (GASP can you believe it) - Lemon/lemon juice - White sugar - Water - Sparkling water/Ginger Ale works too. Sprite is a stretch. - Pot/Stove - Fine mesh strainer - Pitcher - Ladle - Glass measuring cup
Instructions:
We're making a raspberry syrup, so you can use fresh, overripe or frozen raspberries. For every cup of raspberries, use just under a half cup of sugar, (3 cups of raspberries = 1 1/4 cups of sugar), and put both into a pot/saucepan.
Cook on medium/high heat and mash with like. the bottom of a ladle or something. It'll take like 20 minutes to have it cooked down to a liquid.
Strain into the measuring cup. If there are still seeds or pulp, strain again. Squeeze lemon into it in small amounts and taste as you go until you get the flavour You Want. This is your syrup. At this point, if you want to save some to use for other recipes or something, set some aside.
Boil the water (Use one cup more of water than you did of raspberries) and add it to the pitcher with your raspberry syrup. Mix, then let it chill in the fridge. ** if you would like to use sparkling water/lemonade or ginger ale instead, you'll just have to mix for longer is all, don't heat those
Serve and garnish with lemon or mint.

Squeeze your shredded carrots to get rid of the extra Juice (look at GTAT)
Add lemon/lime, salt and cayenne according to taste, and mix with fork

Vargas - Deviled Eggs
Materials and Ingredients: - Saucepan/pot + Stove - Water - Eggs - Mayo - Salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne - Bowl + fork - Lime juice (optional) - Knife and cutting board - Bowl with ice water
Instructions:
Choose how many eggs you're gonna want to make, idk, maybe 6? Put them in the pot and gently fill with just enough water to cover them. Add salt and lemon juice (GTAT) to the water and heat on medium
Prepare your bowl with ice water. Let your eggs boil for about 8 minutes before draining the water and running them under cold water until they're cool enough to handle for a few seconds to put in the ice bath
Wait until your eggs are cold enough to handle for you to crack the egg shells off. I love using my hands but if it's easier to put it in a container with a lid and shake it gently, go ahead, just shake it enough to break the shell in a way you can remove it.
Once all your eggs are shelled, cut them in half the long way, (be careful they are Slippery)
Remove the yolks gently without ripping the egg white. Generally, you can just use your fingers or turn the egg upside down orrr very gently push the yolk out from behind into the bowl.
Add mayo and seasonings at your discretion. (if it feels like it's missing something, you can try adding diced pickles/pickle juice, bacon bits, dill, or mustard.) Mash together with the fork until smooth, or if you're using a lot of eggs you can use a hand mixer. Mixture should be creamy.
Gently spoon the mixture back into the egg whites. Any leftover mixture will be great on sandwiches!
Sam - Sausage Bites
Materials and Ingredients: - 1 Pillsbury OG Crescent Roll dough - Sausage of your choice, cut into 1 inch pieces (unless it's cocktail sausages, leave them as is) - 1 Egg + 1tbsp for an egg wash - Baking sheet + parchment paper (oven) - Flour - Pizza cutter (more fun than a knife) - Plate w/ paper towel - Sauce: 1/2 cup Mayo, 1 tbsp mustard, 1 tbsp ketchup + Cajun seasoning to your hearts content or a simple chipotle mayo works too
Instructions:
Make your sauce, throw it in the fridge to cool, set your oven to 350 F.
Lightly flour your counter and spread out the Pillsbury dough. Cut each triangle into 3 smaller triangles. Place sausage on wide end of the triangle and wrap it to make kind of like. A donut around it.
Place on baking sheet and add egg wash. I don't have a basting brush so I kinda wing it with whatever bright idea strikes me first. Usually I just end up using my fingers lol
Bake for 15 minutes, until pastry is golden brown
Once done, place on plate and allow to cool. Add toothpicks if you'd like, and serve with your dip.
Others (BONUS, come on guys I'm pretending like this is something people actually want to read LMAO)
Jack T. - Vanilla Latte Bars
Materials and Ingredients: - Coffee beans - Vanilla - Pitted dates - Rolled oats - Food processor - Cake pan + parchment paper
Instructions:
For every cup of oats, match with pitted dates + 1/2 a cup. (2 cups oats = 2 1/2 cups of dates). For every cup of oats, add a 1/8 cup of coffee beans. (2 cups oats = 1/4 cup coffee beans). Add vanilla with your heart. Everything goes in the food processor and gets blended.
Pinch the 'dough' between your fingers. If it doesn't crumble, it's ready. If it does, add a splash of warm water, blend again, and repeat until the dough holds it's shape.
Press mixture into cake pan evenly and refrigerate
Cut and serve once hardened
Che'nya - Cheez-whiz, pickle and mini-marshmallow sandwich Oh, context? Yeah my dad said this was his childhood snack and I wanted to be like him when I was like 5. Do not recommend. But I also don't like processed cheese.
Materials and Ingredients - White bread, Wonder bread is ideal - Cheez-whiz - Sweet pickles, sliced - Multi coloured mini marshmallows - A psych assessment

Materials and Ingredients: - Cutting board + knife - Pork cutlet (I only need to feed myself, so a huge cut of meat isn't necessary - Salt - Baking tray + parchment paper (oven)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Cut your pork cut into ~1 inch cubes, or smaller. Place on baking sheet and use a generous amount of salt to season. Mix with your hands.
Cook until you can easily pull the pork apart
I like to use a little lemon, a little homemade tortilla and some crema to eat them, but just lemon or using them to top nachos works too
Cheka - Poor Man's Horchata He just likes it more because he can set it up mostly by himself, and he can share it without worrying about nut allergies.
Materials and Ingredients - Pitcher - Water - White sugar - Oats - Vanilla - Cinnamon - Ice - Wooden spoon
Instructions:
For every cup of oats, add half a cup of sugar into pitcher (or cup for a personal serving)
Bring 3/4 full with water and add ice to bring it as high as you are comfortable stirring.
Add remaining ingredients to taste, and add sugar/water/oats as necessary
Najma - Mango with Tajin
Materials and Ingredients - Cutting board and knife - Mango - Tajin - Bowl
Instructions:
Cut your mango however you like. I typically cube my Haden mangoes, but Ataulfo I do the grid thing and pop it up
Add Tajin to your preference. If you don't have Tajin, use lime, salt and cayenne.
Neige (and the dwarves) - Tarte Soleil (higher effort snack) It's easy to share and 'sun tart' feels fitting
Materials and Ingredients: - 2 puff pastries, cut into equal size circles - Egg for wash, like Sam's - Black and white sesame seeds, (Optional) - Garlic butter (softened butter w/ garlic powder, salt, lemon and parsley to taste) - Baking sheet + parchment paper (oven) - Water - Cup/Glass - Knife
Instructions:
Cut your puff pastry so it's just small enough to fit on your baking sheet. Leave one on the sheet and put the other in the fridge for now. Preheat your oven to 350 F.
Spread the garlic butter on the circle, leaving about a half inch untouched all the way around the circle. Place in the fridge for 5 minutes to set.
Dab the edges of the crust with water and set the other puff pastry on top, gently pressing the edges together (not squishing)
Put the glass smack dab in the middle, or at least best you can, and upside down. (Do not Press.) Use your knife to cut away from the glass and make a bunch of 'rays' (easiest way is to quarter the dough, then cut each quarter into sixths.)
Remove the glass and gently press where your 'ray' meets the circle the glass made to prevent it from ripping as you twist it. Repeat for every 'ray'
Egg wash, (just like Sam's), sprinkle sesame seeds and bake until golden brown (30-35 minutes)
Let it cool, transfer to serving plate, and rip off the rays to eat.

GENERAL TIPS AND TRICKS
If you need to melt chocolate and don't have a microwave (been there love, I know), you can use a small pot with water in it, I would say about a third of the pot is good, and a glass bowl big enough to sit on top of it. Boil that motherfucker and melt chocolate in the glass bowl, this is basically a poor man's double boiler
To clean melted sugar from the pot, there's a couple ways to go about it. I can't relax when I know there are dishes still waiting for me, so I used my kettle to boil more water, poured it into the pot, mixed it around with the fork I used, and most of it dissolved. I poured it down the sink, then used a sponge, soap and brute force to get the rest of it out. The other option is similar, where you just add fresh water to what's left of the sugar mixture, let it sit overnight, boil it again, and then dump it. (don't use cold water it will harden against the pot and be even more difficult to clean)
Some oven's don't go that low, I think the other common lowest temp is 170 F. That's okay! You can use a pair of metal tongs to keep your oven slightly ajar, just check in on it every once in a while. I use the same trick when I make meringue cookies and it works perfectly. Makes it wonderful during winter, but in summer make sure you don't overheat love <3.
You'll know the oil is hot enough to deep fry if you 1. put the back end of a wooden spoon in the oil and bubbles form around it, or 2. drop a small bit of the batter/flour in and it starts bubbling.
If you don't like bell peppers, you can shred carrots or zucchini, just make sure you squeeze and drain out the water first. You can do this with a cheese cloth or just your hands and pouring the water/juice out of the bowl over the sink. The dryer you can get it the better.
Adding lemon juice to the water helps separate the shell from the egg

Your anxiety continues to build when your search for a place to stay for the night falls flat. Few hotels in the area have vacancies with the long holiday weekend and none allow dogs.
“Shae?” Reese calls through the door, “I’m here.”
You toss your phone on the bed with a sigh before heading down the hall, Hank hot on your heels.
You hold his collar as you unlock the door, cracking it open before stepping back, “Come in.”
Your grip tightens as Reese pushes it open slowly, but he surprises you by wagging his tail instead of growling.
“Hi baby,” she greets him softly, crouching to pet him as her eyes meet yours, “Oh Shae.”
“I’m okay,” you smile as your eyes fill with tears again, “I’ve had worse.”
She nods. “Yous such a good boy, protecting your mama like that,” she kisses the top of his head as she stands and wraps you in a hug.
So unused to a kind touch, you stiffen for a moment before lifting your arms and returning it.
“Thanks for coming, I didn’t know what to do…who to call,” you say, swallowing the lump in your throat.
“Of course,” she replies, eyes falling to your swollen cheek when you pull back, “let’s get some ice on it.”
“Okay, right, of course,” you say, touching the tender skin while you nod, “Duh, I’m a nurse, I just-where are the guys? Did they drop you off?”
“Hey, it’s okay,” she smiles kindly at your stuttering while she checks the freezer, “They told me to come in first to make sure you’re still okay that they came.”
It all suddenly feels like too much and you just want to sit down and cry.
Instead, you take a deep breath as you look at the ticking clock and say, “I’m okay with it.”
“Okay,” she murmurs, placing a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towel gently on your cheek before guiding you to the couch. “I’ll let them in.”
Reese opens the door and waves them over just as you remember the words of the lady you got Hank from, “he’s a little leery of men.”
You jump up to grab his collar but miss as he trots to the door, “Oh wait! I was told…”
The words die on your tongue as Bradley kneels to greet him, laughing as Hank sniffs his face while his tail wags a mile a minute.
Jake’s right behind him and all 3 look at you to finish your sentence.
“I was told he’s a little leery of men,” you finish, wanting to hide your face at their attention. Thankfully the ice pack hides your flush. “Seems to like you guys though.”
Bradley gives you a soft smile as he rises and holds out his hand, “I’m Bradley, or Rooster, either’s fine. I’m glad to officially meet you, sorry it’s under these circumstances.”
He’s even more handsome up close; the mustache that should look ridiculous but suits him well, deep brown eyes that you could get lost in, the scars on his cheek and neck that you want to run your fingers over. There’s no pity or anger in his expression as you shake his hand; he almost looks hurt on your behalf.
“It’s nice to meet you,” you murmur, trying not to squirm under his gaze, “I apologize for avoiding you,” you say, looking up at him and then Jake, “both of you since I started. It’s been difficult adjusting…”
Adjusting to being able to talk to a man without getting beat for it, not having to come home and report every interaction you had with a male coworker, patient, etc., not being called a whore for just glancing in one’s direction…
“It’s okay,” Jake says as he rises, holding his hand out next. You’re almost reluctant to let go of Bradley’s calloused one dwarfing yours. “It’s understandable after everything you’ve been through.”
Jake’s expression doesn’t show pity either but there’s definitely anger as he looks over the frozen peas pressed to your cheek. But it’s not directed at you. “Let’s get you out of here. I can’t stand being at a place that kicks a woman while she’s down. What’s all yours?”
You realize there’s a familiarity to his anger with his words; someone close to him has been hurt like this too. “Out here there’s just a couple of coffee cups and Hank’s toys and bed, I think. In the bedroom, I need to pack the rest of my clothes in the closet, oh, and a tote too.”

Reese helps you pack your bedroom while the guys gather the rest. “Did you find somewhere for tonight?”
You shake your head, “Not yet. Everything is booked with the holiday.”
“You could stay with me,” she replies as she places the rest of your clothes in the last suitcase, “I’ve got plenty of room.”
“I appreciate it, but I won’t risk something happening with Drew there,” you say, refusing to traumatize her son.
“He’s with his grandparents tonight,” she replies. “I’ll sleep better knowing you’re safe.”
“Are you sure?” You ask, your other choice is sleeping in your car, “Hank’s a big dog and he sheds.”
“Positive,” she answers, zipping the suitcase closed and setting it on the floor, “I have a big house and dog hair never hurt anyone. We can have a drink and talk or sit together in silence. Whatever you want.”
“Okay,” you say, voice cracking as tears again fill your eyes, “thank you.”

The host shows up again just as you’re heading out the door. You nearly laugh at the disgusted look Jake throws his way.

Reese rides with you on the way to her house, giving you directions while she pets Hank’s big head resting on the center console.

“Of course,” she replies, “Jake was going to spend the night tonight, but I can send him home if it bothers you.”
“No, not at all. It’s your home,” you tell her, shifting your car into park, “I’m sure he’s long gone by now,” you sigh, “and it’s actually kind of comforting; knowing there’s someone his size here on the odd chance he figures out where I am.”
“Okay,” she nods as she opens her car door, “let me know if you change your mind. He won’t care.”
You give her a small smile and follow her inside.

After getting the things you need for the night inside and settling in one of the guest rooms, Reese invites you outside to join them around her fire pit.
“I’m assuming this is okay?” Reese asks, handing you the same brand of beer you had been drinking earlier when Chad showed up, probably still sitting half-full on the counter in the rental.
“Yes, thank you,” you smile, taking it from her. You felt less dowdy in your leggings and old college tee since she changed into sweats too. Hank finishes patrolling her yard to come lay on your feet with a relaxed sigh.
“Do you think Chad was there earlier?” Reese asks, bending down to pat his soft fur, “You said he was pacing when you let him out at lunch.”
You nod, “Yeah, I think so. He was still worked up when I got home.”
“How did he get in?” Jake asks.
“I let him in,” you frown, picking at the label on the bottle of beer, “he knocked and I let him in without looking because I ordered food. You’d think I’d know better,” you laugh at your own stupidity before taking a long pull. “I was just feeling so good after working; I was actually in the process of texting you that I was gonna tag along tomorrow when he knocked.”
“You still can,” Reese says softly, “I’d love it if you’d come.”
You nod as you gently touch the bruising on your cheek, “I’ll have to see how this looks in the morning first. Anyways, I opened the door and he backhanded me, knocked me back a few steps. God, if he had hit me on the other side…” you shiver and your stomach turns as you imagine it, “I’m still healing from the orbital fracture he gave me. That’s what the bruising was from when we first met.”
“Oh Shae,” Reese murmurs.
“Fuck,” you hear Jake mutter.
Bradley’s hand tightens on the bottle in his hand as he shifts in his seat.
You’re too embarrassed to look at any of their expressions.
“He grabbed my arm and was screaming at me. He must’ve gotten served the divorce papers this week,” you continue, eyes not focusing on anything as you recall the attack, “that’s when Hank bit him.”
“Good boy,” Jake tells him, giving him some hearty pats. Hank’s tail thumps in response.
“He screamed like a girl,” you smile at the memory, “screamed like I did the last time he…” you trail off as you realize what you’re saying.
“You don’t have to tell us anything you don’t want to, Shae,” it’s Bradley’s voice this time.
You nod, still not looking up.
“I pulled Hank off before he could do anything worse. He was wearing long sleeves so I don’t think it broke the skin,” you say, stroking the soft, downy fur of his ears, “then he ran off. Not before telling me ‘this isn’t over’ and ‘that dog is dead.’”
You swallow back your tears with another drink before looking at Reese’s shiny eyes over the fire. “That’s why I can’t stay here. He’s never going to stop. Not until he’s in prison or one of us is dead.”
“Why isn’t he in prison?” Bradley asks. Now there’s anger staining his voice, but it doesn’t scare you like you thought it would. “Especially if this isn’t his first offense.”
“He should be in prison,” you agree, “but his dad is the Sacramento County DA. His family has all kinds of connections and the entire police force is in his back pocket. All charges against him mysteriously drop with a phone call from his daddy.”
It’s silent while that news sinks in.
“I-we won’t let anything happen to you,” Bradley says after a moment.
“He’s right,” Reese agrees, “and you don’t have to go through this alone anymore. We’re all here for you.”
“Thank you,” you murmur, watching the fire crackle and pop.

You’re grateful for the cloak of darkness as the conversation begins to flow. You’ve caught Bradley’s eyes on you on more than once but he looks away whenever you’d catch his gaze.
You can’t help but smile at the banter between friends. You heart pinches a bit at the love Jake and Reese share. The way he looks at her with so much love and adoration almost makes you blush.
It’s the kind of love your parents had. The kind of love you’ve always wished for.
“So…how do you all know each other?” You ask when there’s a lull.
“I met Bradley the same day I met my late husband, Andy,” Reese starts with a small smile, “those two were friends since they were in diapers and happened to be Andy’s ride to the ER when he got hurt. I ended being the only one available to stitch him up. Andy scared the shit out of me when he waiting for me after work,” she laughs, fiddling with what you assume is Andy’s wedding ring on her right hand. “Bradley was Andy’s best man in our wedding, he was there for us when we got Andy’s ALS diagnosis, which was shortly after I found out I was pregnant with Drew.”
A lump forms in your throat as her voice gets thicker with tears. Jake intertwines his fingers in hers before squeezing gently.
“Andy declined quickly and died shortly after he was born. Bradley’s been there for Drew and I every step of the way,” she smiles at him warmly, reaching over to squeeze his knee. He flushes as he swallows heavily before taking a long pull of his drink.
“Jake and Bradley are in the same squadron, and I met Jake the day I got back from my deployment a few months ago at the beach,” she continues. “What was supposed to be a hook-up turned into this,” her heavy sigh turns into laughter at Jake’s scoff, but his lip quirks too.

“When did you say your apartment will be ready?” Jake asks a few minutes later, handing you a second beer.
“Should be done by the end of next week,” you reply.
“Could she stay at your place?” Reese asks Jake, “you could stay here?”
“You could,” Jake turns to you, but he’s wearing a frown, “but there’s a no-pet policy, and my landlord is a dick. I’m guessing you want Hank with you too.”
“I do,” you nod, “thank you though.”
“You could stay at my house,” Bradley says. Your heart skips a beat when you look up and meet his kind, brown gaze. He doesn’t look away this time, though his eyes dip to your lips briefly. Your breath catches as desire hits you like a freight train with the realization that he’s attracted to you. “I-uh, I own a house near the beach. I’ve got plenty of room for you both,” he smiles at Hank, “and I’m sure I can stay with Mav and Penny.”
“I-no,” you argue, “I won’t kick you out of your own home. Thank you though.”
“You’re not,” he smiles, “I offered.”
“Well…” you trail off, not sure what to say. The problem is you don’t want to stay anywhere by yourself after tonight. You also don’t want to drag anyone further into this mess.
“You don’t have to make any decisions tonight,” Reese says with a yawn, “I think I’m gonna go to bed. You want a ride home Roo?”
He shakes his head as he yawns too, “I’ll just crash on the couch if you don’t mind?”
“Not at all. I was gonna make you Uber if you wanted a ride,” she teases, laughing as he pushes her into Jake.
You smile at their antics as you follow them inside.

Hank’s whining wakes you a little before 7. Though your body is bruised and sore, you feel better rested than you have in years; it’s like your subconscious knew you were safe.
“Shhhh,” you tell Hank dancing at the top of the stairs as you grab your robe. His tail slowly moves side to side as he waits for you to get close before he loudly takes off down the stairs before you can pull it on.
“Wait,” you whisper as you follow, trying not to slip.
He’s waiting patiently at the bottom until he hears soft snores coming from the couch.
“Hank!” You whisper-yell as he gallops to find the source, “Leave him alone!”
But it’s too late.
You hear Bradley’s “oomph” before you can catch him.
“I’m so sorry!” You cringe as you take in the sight of your giant dog splayed on top of him. “I snore when I mess around with him…he must’ve thought you wanted to play.”
Bradley laughs as he tries to avoid Hank’s cold, wet nose against his neck, “It’s okay. I’ve had worse wake-up calls.”
You suddenly remember your lack of a bra as Bradley’s eyes flick down to your chest where your nipples are standing at attention against the pilled cotton of your shirt in the cool morning air. His gaze drops further to your bare legs, shorts hidden by the length of your tee. Helooks away quickly but his cheeks redden.
“Come on,” you coo as you pull on your robe, pretending not to notice to ease Bradley’s embarrassment. You can’t deny that the attention feels good. “Gotta go potty?”
Hank’s head whips around at that and Bradley groans out a laugh as the oaf leaps off him to bound toward the back door.
“Sorry again,” you say with a sheepish smile as you follow.

You sit on the stairs, watching Hank run off some energy when the door opens a few minutes later.
“Coffee?” Bradley asks, holding two cups by the handles as he closes the door behind him. “With or without creamer? I don’t care either way.”
He looks good; like really good in a white undershirt and gray sweatpants.
“Witho-with…with creamer, please,” you catch yourself, “Chad had me on a strict diet for many years,” you explain, knowing he’s wondering but too polite to ask, “still trying to get used to being able to eat or drink what I want.”
He frowns as he hands you the warm cup, his gaze lingering on your bruised face.
“Thank you,” you say, wincing as you try to smile, your cheek aching with the movement. “You can sit if you want.”
He nods before taking a seat at the opposite edge of the steps. “The swelling’s gone down.”
“Has it?” Your fingertips brush the tender skin. It warms under your touch from the way he watches you, “those peas must’ve worked.”
He smiles sadly and you turn to take a sip of the coffee that’s sweetened perfectly.
“I was actually excited about tagging along today; finally starting to feel like the old me again…standing on my own two feet,” you clear your throat, “then he pulled the rug out from under me.”
“You can still come,” he replies, “no one will say anything.”
“I just…,” you sigh, “I shouldn’t leave Hank here all day by himself, and gotta find a place to stay by tonight and…”
He waits patiently for you to gather your thoughts and continue.
“and I’m scared,” you whisper, tears again filling your eyes, “I’m scared to be alone right now.”
“I bet,” he murmurs, “you’ve been through a lot.”
Both of you are quiet for a while, chuckling occasionally as Hank goofs around.
Besides the butterflies fluttering around in your stomach, you feel at ease with Bradley. You had been young and dumb when Chad swept you off your feet; the bad gut-feeling you had about him was easily ignored by the gifts and over-the-top gestures. You’ll never make that mistake again.
“What if…you stayed at my house…with me?” He asks tentatively a few minutes later, “I’ve got a guest bedroom upstairs; you can still have your own space but I’ll be around so you can feel safe.”
You want to be selfish and say yes. You would do just about anything to get a few more good nights' sleep like you did last night instead of overanalyzing every sound.
“Just like roommates, ya know?” He says when you hesitate, “it’s only for a few days.”
“Okay,” you answer without thinking.
“Yeah?” He sounds just as surprised as you.
“Yeah,” you give him a small smile as you nod, feeling overwhelmed and relieved all at once.

The hour is somewhere between late afternoon and early evening, the warmth of the sun fading into a slight chill as it casts its final rays upon your home. This is your favorite time of day, the sky vibrantly painted in warm hues that fade as the sun's brightness dims, and darkness settles further into the sky.
You've always thought there was something oddly romantic about sunsets, but you never understood just how romantic they could be until Hyunjin.
He has a way of romanticizing the things he finds beauty in, and he never misses an opportunity to share each of those moments with you, no matter the duration of the moment. Although, if he must choose, he prefers the small, short moments with you.
In his mind, it just makes the moment that much more special, knowing it only lasts a minute or two, and out of all the people he could experience it with, he gets to experience it with you.
This mindset has rubbed off on you, and now you find yourself appreciating the beauty and romance in the smallest of things you would have never noticed before.
The thought causes a small smile of adoration to pull at your features as you lean back against your kitchen countertop, taking a cautious sip of your hot tea.
You hear the door of Hyunjin's art studio open gently before he walks into the kitchen a minute later, a wide, bright grin adorning his features as he makes his way to the freezer.
"What?" You ask with a slight chuckle, watching his actions closely to try and get an idea of his thought process.
He lets out a quiet laugh as he fills a glass half full of ice, pouring cold water over the cubes until there's just enough for each of the cubes to float to the surface of the water.
"I have an idea!" He informs, laughing once more as he bolts over to you, pressing a quick kiss to your lips before he heads back to his art studio.
You only laugh in response, lightly shaking your head as you watch his figure disappear down the hallway. You take another sip of your tea, the temperature more bearable as you make your way to Hyunjin's art studio.
You and Hyunjin have lived together for over a year now, and even though the entirety of your home is warm and inviting, you came to the realization that Hyunjin's art studio is your favorite room in your home.
There's just something about the space itself that radiates comfort and makes you feel safe. Maybe it's the ivory walls, lined with some of Hyunjin's favorite pieces he's done and kept for himself. Or maybe it's the bouquet of flowers he always keeps in the vase you got him for his birthday last year, only ever getting a new bouquet after the previous one has long since wilted. Maybe it's the soft sound of one of his playlists that always plays quietly in the background. Or, perhaps, it was the fact that this space is just so undeniably Hyunjin, a perfect encapsulation of the comfort he not only radiates, but provides you with whenever you need it.
Regardless of which of those it may be, if not all of the above, you always found yourself in the studio with Hyunjin. At some point, your presence became so common that he started keeping a chair specifically for you in his studio, tucked away in the far corner of the room, adorned with a fluffy throw blanket and a couple books stacked upon each other when you weren't using it.
After setting the books aside, you pull up that same chair to sit next to him. You quietly watch him work as you continue to sip on your tea, admiring the comfortable silence that settles between you two.
You watch his fingertips dip into the glass of ice water, grabbing a single cube and setting it on top of loose powder pigment he strategically placed on top of a page from his watercolor sketchbook. Due to the temperature of the room, it doesn't take long for the ice to begin to melt, and when it does, the run-off spreads throughout the page, taking the powder pigment with it.
You both watched curiously as the pigment mixed with the water, dying the paper beneath it in a tie-dye-like effect.
For you, there's nothing that compares to watching your boyfriend create. You love him and all his artistic tendencies, always coming up with new ways to do what he loves, and the pure happiness that takes over every muscle in his body when one of his ideas works the way he hoped it would is priceless.
"What do you think?" He asks you triumphantly, his voice laced with excitement.
"I love it! I really wasn't expecting that outcome." You answer honestly, watching the tie-dye pattern spread further.
"Neither was I; it was just a random idea I got." He explains, slightly bouncing in his seat from pure excitement. "I didn't think it was actually gonna work."
You mirror his bright smile, feeling your heart swell from the pure, unfiltered happiness that beams off your boyfriend. He pulls you into his side, feeling your head rest on his shoulder as you both watch the rest of the ice melt onto the page. He turns to press a kiss to the top of your head as he carefully takes your empty mug from your hand to set on the far-left side of his desk.
"What's next?" You softly ask him as he hums along to the song playing quietly in the background.
"I think I'll leave this one as it is, since it was an experiment." He answers, carefully moving the page off to the side and replacing it with a blank one. "Now, I'll do it again, but this time, it'll be for my background."
"Okay!" You reply with a nod, watching him tape the border of the page so the color doesn't bleed off the edges of the paper.
Once the tape is laid where he wants it, he grabs his loose powder pigments, lining them in a row on his desk.
"Okay, pick three colors for me!" He beams, watching your eyes go wide for a second.
"Really?" You ask, eyes still wide as he nods in response, smiling fondly at you as you carefully look over all the colors. "Okay..."
He has them laid out in rainbow order, starting with the warm colors on the left in front of him, and ending with the cool colors on the right in front of you. You're not sure why, but you find yourself drawn to the cool colors sat in front of you.
He watches with that same fond smile as your eyes dart back and forth between all the cool colors.
"Three?" You ask, just to confirm.
He nods, his eyes sparkling as he watches you. You rest your pointer and middle fingers against the royal blue pigment, slightly pushing it forward so it stands out of the line. You repeat that process with both the turquoise, and lime green pigments, peering at Hyunjin right after.
He smiles at you, gently cupping your cheek to run his thumb over your skin as you sit back in your chair.
"How's that?" You ask, watching him put the rest of the pigments away.
"Perfect, baby, thank you." He answers, pressing a kiss to your cheek before he moves to grab his paint brushes.
You watch him dip his paintbrush into the lime green pigment first, gently dabbing it against the bottom right corner of the page before he moves to dab it randomly across the entirety of the paper.
Your eyes briefly dart to the glass of ice water that's sat carefully on a coaster across from you, and without much thought, you lean forward to grab a cube out of the glass. This catches Hyunjin's attention, and he watches you bring the ice cube to your lips. You lightly drag it across your bottom lip before you slip it between your lips and into your mouth, sucking on the cold solid.
You watch a slight smirk pull at his features before he pulls his bottom lip between his teeth. He sets his paintbrush down, moving the open jar of pigment further into the center of his desk before he grabs the underside of your chair between your legs, pulling you closer to him.
For a minute, you both just gaze at each other as he watches you move the ice cube from one side of your mouth to the other. You hold half the cube between your teeth, letting the other half slip past your lips and into Hyunjin's line of sight. He leans forward, taking the other half between his own teeth and connecting your lips in a cold, but heated kiss.
The ice cube quickly melts between you two, leaving both your mouths cold and slightly numb as you deepen the kiss, desperate for more of him. Hyunjin slides his tongue past your lips, licking against your cold tongue as he hurriedly pulls you into his lap.
Your hands find their way into his hair, tangling into the locks and tugging just enough to get him to groan into the kiss.
Hyunjin reluctantly breaks the kiss, allowing you both a second to catch your breaths as he looks up at you with dark, lust blown eyes.
"I wanna try something with you." He breathes out, his forehead resting against yours as he continues to steal kisses in between breaths.
"I trust you." You breathe out against his lips, looking into his eyes for a brief second before he reconnects your lips with a groan.
His hands slide under the fabric of your shirt, slowly inching their way up higher until they reach your tits, cupping the soft flesh in the palms of both his hands. You let out a shaky breath against his lips, pulling the article of clothing over your head and tossing it behind you as you paw at Hyunjin's shirt. He smirks against your lips before he discards his shirt as well.
Your hands come to rest on his chest, gently pushing him further back in his chair as you roll your hips against his. You both let out quiet, shaky moans as he slides his hands under your thighs, holding you against him as he stands up from his chair. He sets you on the edge of his desk so he can pull your shorts and panties off in one swift motion.
You pull one of your knees up towards your chest, resting it against his lower stomach when he gets close enough so he can't come any closer. He stops, peering down at your knee before he looks back at you as his hand rests against your calf, trailing up to the bend of your knee when he takes a step closer.
"Off." You quietly demand, eyeing the bulge in his sweatpants as he smirks at you once again, taking a step back to rid himself of his sweatpants before reapproaching you.
This time, you spread your legs for him, watching his eyes immediately dart to your dripping core. His eyes almost roll to the back of his head at the sight alone, and he's quick to stand between your parted legs.
"What did you wanna try, Jinnie?" You ask him, feeling him struggle to stay still as his length rests between your folds.
He moves to press messy, open-mouthed kisses along your neck, one hand on your hip as the other slams against the surface of his desk as he bucks his hips against your core.
"Fucking hell," he grunts out, nipping at your sweet spot before he runs his tongue over the spot to soothe it.

"Look at me." He softly demands, watching your eyes dart up to his as you cling to him.

Yesterday while setting up our ice cream stations one of our coworkers was going around handing out rags to everyone for their sanitizing buckets (meant for cleaning counters, food prep surfaces, and freezer windows/doors)
Every. Single. One. Had paint caked into them. Which is SUPER unsafe and you can't use them on food surfaces, even most toddlers know you shouldn't put paint with food. So I called one of my leads over and pointed it out and was like "hey we literally can't use these, we need clean towels for the sanitizer." She agreed, took the rags back, and found our manager to talk to him. They both in turn went to find our facilities manager, who is the ONLY ONE with access to the paint all over the rags.
His EXACT WORDS, which I heard him say, were, "Well paint isn't one of the Big Nine allergens, and it's non toxic. Plus they just came out of the wash. So it's fine."

Oh so sorry, didn't realize that just because paint doesn't contain soy and gluten means it's safe to mix with fucking ice cream. I cannot fucking BELIEVE this man still works here. My manager had to literally argue with him to get us new rags, and they finally brought out the new ones (which were perfectly clean) and the facilities manager *complained* that we were taking all his rags.
The rags for us. For us to CLEAN OUR STATIONS.
This man also had the audacity to blame us the day prior for "throwing out the rags" and claiming that we're at fault for not having any. Like no!!! You fuck head!!! You're getting paint on all of them so we literally can't use them!!!!

Giant Peanut Butter Chocolate Delight Pie Indulge in this decadent dessert that combines rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter with a crunchy cookie crust. Perfect for any occasion! Ingredients 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream 12 Oreo cookies 12 Nutter Butter cookies 6 tablespoons salted butter, melted (divided) 1 cup creamy peanut butter 8 ounces whipped cream cheese 1/3 cup powdered sugar 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed 8 Reese's peanut butter cups, full size Instructions Heat the Cream: In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat the heavy whipping cream for about 1 minute. Check the temperature, and if needed, heat for another 30 seconds to 1 minute until it's very hot but not boiling. Melt the Chocolate: Add the chocolate chips to the hot cream. Let it sit for 3-4 minutes. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Set aside to cool slightly. Prepare the Cookies: Use a blender or food processor to grind the Nutter Butters and Oreos separately until they reach a fine, sandy consistency. You bolted upright in bed, heart hammering against your chest at the sudden cacophony of honking outside. Disoriented, you glanced at the clock – it was well past midnight. What could possibly be happening at this hour?
Your mind raced with worry as you stumbled out of bed, heart pounding in your ears as you hurried to the window. Pulling back the curtain, you gasped at the sight before you.
In the glow of the streetlights, you could make out the figure of your husband, AJ in the front yard, tense with fury. And there, standing in front of him, was LA Knight, a sneer twisting his lips as he goaded AJ on.
Panic surged through you as you watched the two men exchange heated words, their voices rising in anger. Without hesitation, you darted for the phone, fingers trembling as you dialed 911.
As you waited for the dispatcher to answer, you prayed fervently for help to arrive swiftly. The last thing you needed was for this confrontation to escalate any further, especially with the children sleeping soundly upstairs.
With trembling hands, you pressed the phone to your ear, relief flooding through you as you heard the dispatcher's voice on the line. Frantically, you relayed the situation, pleading for the police to come quickly.
As you hung up the phone, you could hear the sounds of a struggle outside – the dull thud of fists connecting, the grunts of exertion as the two men clashed.
Rushing back to the window, you watched with bated breath as the police cruisers rounded the corner, their sirens wailing in the night. With a surge of hope, you prayed that they would arrive in time to defuse the situation.
Finally, the flashing lights of the police cars illuminated the front yard, casting long shadows across the lawn. With a sense of profound relief, you watched as the officers swarmed in, separating AJ and Knight before things could escalate any further.
As the police officers managed to subdue Knight and lead him away in handcuffs, you felt a wave of relief wash over you. You rushed down the stairs and out the door to get to AJ, who was still seething with barely-contained rage.
Rushing out to the front yard, you approached AJ cautiously, your heart pounding with concern. His fists were clenched at his sides, his chest rising and falling with each ragged breath. He looked ready to explode.
"Allen, please," you said softly, reaching out to gently touch his arm. "It's over now. He's gone."
But AJ's gaze remained fixed on the retreating police car, his jaw clenched tight with fury. "That son of a…" he muttered under his breath, his voice thick with anger.
You knew that AJ was itching to give Knight a piece of his mind, to show him the consequences of crossing him. But you also knew that escalating the situation any further would only lead to more trouble.
"Come on," you said gently, taking AJ's hand in yours. "Let's go inside. You need to calm down."
For a moment, it seemed as though AJ might resist, his gaze still fixed on the police car. But then, as if realizing the futility of his anger, he finally relented, allowing you to lead him back into the house.
Once inside, you guided AJ to the kitchen, where you fetched a bag of ice from the freezer and handed it to him. He accepted it silently, pressing it against his split lip with a grimace of pain.
Sitting down at the kitchen table, you reached out to gently brush a stray lock of hair from AJ's forehead, your heart aching at the sight of him in pain. "Are you alright?" you asked softly.
AJ met your gaze, his eyes softening as he looked at you. "I'm fine, baby," he said, his voice filled with remorse. "I just… I couldn't stand the thought of him coming after you and the kids."
You reached out to take his hand in yours, squeezing it gently. "I know," you said quietly. "But we're all safe now. That's all that matters."
With a heavy sigh, AJ leaned forward, resting his forehead against yours. "I love you," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
"I love you too," you whispered, wrapping your arms around him in a tight embrace. And in that moment, as you held each other close, you knew that together, you could weather any storm that came your way.

Easy zero waste tip no. 3: Know your R's
Refuse: If you don't acquire the thing that will become waste in the first place, it won't produce further waste. Simple enough. Refuse that which you do not need. Example: All that cute stuff on that Buzzfeed article? You don't need it. Don't even click the link.
Reduce: If you need something, get the minimum. Note that this doesn't mean the cheapest option- it means the most effective and environmentally friendly option. Example: Instead of buying disposable razors, or a razor with changeable heads, try out a safety razor. Instead of using plastic toothbrushes, try out bamboo, and instead of toothpaste in disposable tubes, try out some toothpaste bits. Instead of buying chicken breasts for one thing and chicken broth for another, get a whole chicken and learn to butcher its meat, and make broth from the skin and bones.
Reuse: This means both being mindful of purchases, so you're only buying things that are reusable whenever possible (Example: use beeswax wrap instead of saran wrap), and repurposing things you've already bought (Example: use those little Oui yogurt containers to start seeds for your garden).
Recycle: Find out what your local recycling program actually recycles, and be mindful. Aluminum is a safe bet most of the time, as is paper/cardboard; but plastics, most of the time, are a dud, so try to refuse, reduce, and reuse plastic whenever possible so you don't even need to worry about recycling it. This also refers to donation- that's another valid way to recycle things!
Rot: If you have a yard, start a compost pile! Just try to get a 50/50 balance of food scraps to brown matter (paper, dry leaves, etc). If you have a freezer, you can stick a container in there to act as a compost thing until you can bring it to a compost facility, such as a local garden, or farm. If you don't have the ability to do either of these things, then you can see if there's a subscription compost service in your area (I used CompostNow for ages, they're great).
Understanding these five principles, and looking at them in this order, can make things easier. Next time you're buying something, or about to throw something away, consider which of these might allow you to reduce your waste output in the future.

Food - use or toss?
All of us have looked at a food item wondering if it is too old to eat.  Most of the time, if we are not sure, we throw the item in the trash.  Adding to the confusion are the “best by”, “sell by” and “use by” dates on food packages in the US.  I found some information to help with those decisions, allowing us to safely reduce food waste in our homes. 
According to the US Department of Agriculture, “Food poisoning bacteria does not grow in the freezer, so no matter how long a food is frozen, it is safe to eat. Foods that have been in the freezer for months may be dry, or may not taste as good, but they will be safe to eat.”  In addition, “most shelf-stable foods are safe indefinitely. In fact, canned goods will last for years, as long as the can itself is in good condition (no rust, dents, or swelling). Packaged foods (cereal, pasta, cookies) will be safe past the ‘best by’ date, although they may eventually become stale or develop an off flavor. You’ll know when you open the package if the food has lost quality. Many dates on foods refer to quality, not safety. See FSIS’ Shelf-Stable Food Safety fact sheet for more information.”  The US Department of Agriculture is collaborating with the Food Marketing Institute and Cornell University to update the online Foodkeeper storage guide, which contains storage information on a wide variety of foods. 
The website https://www.eatortoss.com/ provides information on many unusual food safety questions, in addition to more general guidance.  For example, the website discusses what to do if one strawberry in a container is moldy or if your celery is floppy.  The website also includes “use it up” recipes to help clean out the refrigerator or pantry.

Summary: You decide to pull a little prank on Luke after rooting around in the freezer. A/N: also dolmas is hella delicious.

You pulled your hands out of the freezer and rubbed them together before rooting around between the ice cubes once more. Ever since her pregnancy began, Leia had been craving dolmas like crazy and since she wouldn’t stop overworking herself—even six months pregnant—you decided to grab her some. The ice was so cold it was practically burning your hands. You really should’ve grabbed some gloves, but it was too late now.
A gentle hand running across your back caught your attention. You turned to smile at Luke as he rooted through some tools at the side table, his back turned to you. “Is Leia refusing to stop and eat again?”
“Yes,” you grumbled, still rooting through the ice for the small container. “Her stomach was growling and she was biting everyone’s heads off last time I talked to her, so I decided I’d just get it since I had to come in here anyway.”
He laughed. “Good luck getting her to stop long enough to eat it.”
“I’ll force-feed her if I have to—aha!” You finally pulled your victory prize out of the bottom of the freezer before shoving the ice back into place and closing the lid. Your hands tingled and you shook them out slightly to get rid of some of the water droplets. You turned to admire the curve of Luke’s strong back through his shirt, a soft smile on your face, when an idea suddenly came to mind.
You bit back your laugh as you quietly padded up to Luke. You knew he could sense you through the Force, but hoped he’d just assume you were coming to hug him from behind like you usually did. You pressed your cheek to the back of his shoulder for a moment in an attempt to be more convincing before quickly sliding your ice-cold hands up the back of his shirt.
His resulting yelp made you double over with laughter as he jerked away from you. The betrayed look he turned to give you only made you laugh harder. “You screamed like a little girl.”
You reached for him again, but he grabbed your wrists, smiling despite himself. “Noooo, keep those away from me.”
You shook a wrist loose and quickly untied the front of his black Jedi robe. The front fell open to expose his muscled chest and you stared for a moment, almost forgetting your mission in lieu of admiring the tanned, scarred muscle. Almost. You evaded his hands as he tried to grab your wrist again and plopped your palm right in the middle of his stomach.
He arched his torso away from you as he let out a gasp. “Stop, Y/N!” He laughed and spun you around, grabbing your hands and caging you in with his arms. He shook his head and laughed as he pressed his face into the skin of your neck. “Han’s right, you are a little shit.”
“I’m your favorite little shit though, right—Maker, Luke!!!” You tried to squirm out of his hold as he blew a raspberry into the part of your neck where you were most ticklish. “Stop!” You couldn’t help the giggle that broke out and he laughed against your skin with you, nuzzling into you and suddenly turning the moment sweet.
“Yes, you’re my favorite little shit,” he answered, leaving a soft kiss against your skin. He cradled you for a long moment. “If I let you go, will my chest be safe?”
“Well, my hands aren’t cold anymore.”
He squeezed your fingers where he had them locked in with his own, chuckling as he took a step back. You turned to look at him and melted at the love-drunk look in his eyes before your gaze fell to his exposed chest. You reached out, laughing as Luke caught your wrist again. “They’re warmer now, I promise.”
He raised an eyebrow at you, but released you, sighing and closing his eyes as your now warm hands gently traced the scars on his chest. His blue orbs opened before he gently took your hand in his again, leaving gentle kisses on your fingers. He smiled softly at you as he closed and retied his shirt, chuckling at your resulting pout. He left a lingering kiss on your lips. “Later, you can touch as much as you want, I promise—but no freezer hands.”
