I just been feeling so unmotivated to do drawing, even sketches. When I left Instagram, it was all cause there was so much pressure to put out finished clean digital art but I couldn’t keep up with that, even with the sketches that I was digitalizing, they felt lack luster to the others I was seeing and the algorithm felt too fast and trendy. All social medias can be this way but I feel as if tumblr has always been a nice place for artists even after all the years of discourse.

I just been watching new shows and learning how to draw different characters in their styles from reference. Got into Lego Monkie Kid this year. I, like many others, are in turmoil over Stolitz last 2 eps so I made a happy ending of sorts for Apology Tour at the time. And I got into watching Mao Mao. It’s really amazing and the humor is so fucking funny, I am really really peeved that they didn’t get another season.

Been going through Parker Simmons' tweets.

Discovered the following tweet again.

It was under a tweet where Parker re-drew Freya, a character from final fantasy, in the Mao Mao art style. I, as a person who has never played final fantasy before, had absolutely no idea what this meant, so initially, I just glossed over it, but I decided to check out the wiki to check out what this could potentially be referring to and the result was rather interesting;

Based on what I can gather, it's a case of wanting to be reunited with a loved one (déjà vu).

It's quite interesting for many reasons.

from this, it seems, despite him breaking things off with her, he wanted her to come back. Probably during the extended time he spent on his own afterwards, which was hinted at in "Break up", maybe even after that he continued feeling that way until he ultimately gave up assuming there was no way they'd be able to rekindle things (till meet Tanya Keys).

As great as this is, trust me, it's amazing, it isn't exact 100% confirmation of TanyaMao or anything. I mean, it's not like Parker made a tweet saying he felt like having them sing a love song together or anything, lol.

I've never heard of familiar ties. I wonder what the lyrics to that theme is.

I am STILL upset by the fact that Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart was treated so horribly.

The main reason I'm so upset about it is because I wanted to know how the story was going to end.

This show had such an interesting premise for the characters' growth. Watching the concluding moment to your favorite show is saddening. But even with the sadness that would come from seeing a show finally end with no cliffhangers, I still wanted to see that moment happen.

Like, I once saw this post that talked about an idea where there's a Mao family gathering at some point in the future, and Mao Mao shocks everybody by slicing his dad's sword with his own. His dad's legendary sword that had songs written about it was broken by what would be considered a "glowstick." And it means that Mao Mao didn't just amount to his father's legend- he surpassed him. And seeing that post, I thought that would be such a badass moment, and it would also show that Mao Mao's not gonna live in his dad's shadow anymore, and he's breaking free from all the chains that were put on him.

I personally had these ideas for a series finale that 1. our hero comes to terms with the fact that he's enough the way he is ('cause that seemed to be a theme in the show), 2. the other two protags also learn to love themselves for them, and 3. they have a chance to fix the Ruby Pure Heart, but they choose not to because this is it. THIS is where they want to be.

I know- those were terrible ideas, but I'm just emotional is all. #FreeMaoMao.
