“No podemos claudicar, la abstención no es opción”

Confianza Venezuela llamó a derrotar reforma constitucional de Maduro con el voto el 25 de mayo

Caracas 21/02/25. (PS).- Juan Carlos Palencia, diputado a la Asamblea Nacional, y Frank Rodríguez, ambos miembros de la plataforma Confianza Venezuela, hicieron un llamado contundente este viernes a la participación electoral el próximo 25 de mayo, fecha en la que se celebrarán en Venezuela los comicios para elegir gobernadores, diputados a los consejos legislativos y parlamentarios nacionales.

Palencia evocó la histórica derrota de Hugo Chávez en el referéndum de 2007, asegurando que 18 años después, están preparados para repetir la hazaña frente a la reforma constitucional impulsada por Nicolás Maduro. “Hace 18 años derrotamos la reforma de Chávez. Hoy, con el mismo compromiso, vamos a derrotar la de Maduro. ¡Que no les quede duda!”.

El parlamentario subrayó que la estrategia de Confianza Venezuela se centrará en la defensa del voto en todas sus etapas: desde la captación y capacitación de testigos hasta la vigilancia activa en los centros electorales el día de la elección. “No nos iremos de los centros hasta tener las actas en la mano”.

Palencia también destacó la importancia de no abandonar los espacios políticos: “La abstención nunca ha sido garantía de triunfo. Venezuela merece este esfuerzo. Vamos a recuperar la democracia y apostar por la reconciliación nacional. No podemos claudicar”.

Por su parte, Frank Rodríguez, integrante de la generación estudiantil de 2007 del estado Bolívar, resaltó que la plataforma Confianza Venezuela representa el reencuentro de líderes que en su momento frenaron la reforma constitucional de Hugo Chávez.

“Hoy volvemos a unirnos para no repetir los errores del pasado. El voto es el único y verdadero instrumento de lucha pacífica que tenemos los venezolanos”, expresó Rodríguez, al tiempo que recordó las victorias logradas en el referéndum de 2007, en las elecciones legislativas de 2015 y el reciente resultado electoral del 28 de julio de 2024, como ejemplos de que el sufragio es una vía real de transformación política.

Ambos dirigentes insistieron en que el llamado es a todos los venezolanos que aún dudan en participar: “La única forma de defender nuestros derechos y la Constitución es ejerciendo el voto. La lucha es en las urnas, no desde la abstención”.

Let me start by saying that the other day I met the Mediterranean Sea and it was a bit like meeting a forgotten actor.

I walked along the boardwalk hearing its waves that sounded like the cough of an asthmatic Joe Pesci.

Although more than a forgotten actor the sea reminded me of the mummies that they exhibit in the Cairo Museum.

Nothing to do with you, Caribbean Sea, this afternoon you have so much vigor that it looks like you're coming from the gym.

I do not know if I prefer you when you lie down calm as a lion in the middle of the meadow.

Or when you get angry and roar and you try to sodomize the coast in the manner of Marlon Brando

in The Last Tango in Paris. The pelicans and the seagulls they run off your fingers when

you try to catch them, it's as if you want to get out of your seabed, but your chains hold you

so hard that all you can do is shout and rant. Tell the me truth, aren't you bothered by

the cruise ships filled with the elderly and all that crap we throw at you? We have poisoned you, contaminated you.

Last year your coasts had so much seaweed it seemed that on our beaches a tourist

gave you syphilis. I told myself this looks ugly. And I wondered if this was not the end.

But instead of sending a tsunami and taking your revenge on our cities and erasing Miami from the map,

you went back to grazing your flock of waves in peace and harmony throughout the coast.

What else can I tell you? You are the sea Of my childhood, I've spent my life deciphering your words.

We both have aged, but despite the passage of time I keep coming to this reef

to talk to you with the same innocence as when I was a kid and walking around

your beaches I picked up a conch and I put it against my ear and you you spoke to me for the first time.
