How are you planning the story, do you plan to release it anywhere in particular and can we draw fan art?

Hi!!

In all honestly, I never planned to make anything of my story. I don’t think I’m at a level in my art to DO anything with my story.. I don’t practice enough for me to feel confident to make a comic of any sorts, but maybe sometime down the line if I devote myself enough!

For now, I’m hoping to somehow unravel the story here, through questions and maybe drawing some one off lore related comics! Admittedly.. I’m very lazy.. so I’m slacking even answering questions now !! But I hope to get back to it today! I’m so happy you guys are interested!! And YES OF COURSE YOU CAN DRAW FANART! It’d seriously mean the world to me!

COMET AND DOMINIQUE ARE STEP BROTHERS????!! 🤯 I’m actually so shocked omggg what kind of dynamic would they have??

They are step siblings! Its good to note that they have known each other most of their lives but become step siblings some time after graduation (19-20 y/o) after Comet’s dad remarries! That woman he marries just so happens to be Dominique’s mother heh

They get along fine, but they bicker quite a bit… They have something similar to an older/younger sibling dynamic even though they’re the same age. Dominique teases Comet a lot over his feelings for Cherry and most certainly holds his personal best friend status with her over Comet’s head.

They end up becoming roommates in their own apartment during this time period so you could imagine the petty squabbles they’d get into

How did u come up with the name and logo of your story?

Ugh!! Coming up with a name was so so hard! We had so many name ideas, and I was trying to go for the vibe of a classic 90-00’s show/cartoon name.. something catchy and a bit cliche hehe. When I thought of the name What’s up with Cherry? It’s supposed to read as the perspective of mostly comet, but the other characters as well. Questioning her seemingly odd but harmless behavior. The reason for this was because she’s a very lucky go happy gal, and not a lot of people around them understand how she can keep up her positivity and love antics in a way.

As for the logo, it kinda just came to me I guess HAHA! I had the formatting idea in my head but I wasn’t too sure on the font, but I wanted a sleek 2000s look. As for the cherry detail, I was inspired off the little circles you see in frutiger metro artworks, which is a big inspiration for me for WUWC. A while back my boyfriend told me they thought it’d be nice to include a cherry detail in the logo, but I wasn’t sure how to go about it until I remembered my frutiger metro inspirations!

I do have Indian ocs, but for wuwc I only have one as of now and she’s a side character! Her name is Dovie, she’s Mongol and Bengali! (This is old art!!)

hiiiii Lottie so happy to finally see you guys have this up and running :) I’m from twitter mostly but I’ll try to be active here! Umm starting off strong I guess! But can you give us some insight and Cherry and comet’s relationship? I often see you post art of them and it’s always so cute but we don’t really know much about how complex their relationship is I think other than comet ghosted Cherry at her first dance despite them liking each other AND he ended up dating Alisha (OWCH 😭) her ex friend so if you feel comfy I’d love to learn about them! I’m kind of curious about why comet is dating Alisha too, is he aware they’re no longer friends and it’s done to spite Cherry, does he not care? So much to learn >_<

As for Cherry and Comet’s relationship— we expanded on it in our introduction post, I’d love to explain further about it for you, but I want it to unravel as people keep asking our characters questions hehehe, it’s more fun for me that way!

As for Comet’s perspective, I’ll let vee answer that for you!

In truth it would be that Comet doesn’t really care or atleast doesn’t show he does. He knows Alisha and Cherry aren’t friends anymore but he isn’t friends with Cherry either— so it doesn’t make much of a difference to him. Basically he wouldn’t think too much of it when he and Alisha date :P

What inspired you two to write this story?

Originally, the concept of Cherry and Comet came into fruition when I approached my boyfriend and asked if we could make characters that worked at food places that would thrive during the holidays, as I wanted to make a holiday/Christmas themed character (Cherry) with a dynamic of a Christmas fanatic x a grinch, thus they were born!

We still wanted to keep somewhat of its original concept, as it’s changed a lot from what we had initially! Which is why you’ll see comet and Cherry are working in their respective family businesses— a pie shop and hot chocolate joint!
