Franco Moschino | c. 1989 • • • The Metropolitan Museum of Art has unveiled its Spring 2019 Exhibition: “Camp: Notes on Fashion”. The exhibition is centered around Susan Sontag’s essay in which she explains camp is the “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration . . . style at the expense of content . . . the triumph of the epicene style”. Camp fashion is a style I’ve grown to love and admire, when done well. It should be polarizing and vexing, much like this 1989 Moschino dress. Jeremy Scott wzmocnił punkowy charakter kolekcji za pomocą scenografii – oto modelki wchodziły na wybieg przez ogromną dziurę w ścianie z pustaków. Na dodatek ów wybieg symulował przejście utworzone z drewnianych palet przez spory magazyn. Ważniejsze było jednak to, co modelki miały na głowach – ich irokezy wyglądały jak zrobione z ogromnych kawałków potłuczonego szkła. Jak mówił Scott, rzeczy nie zawsze są tym, czym się wydają i trudno często odkryć, co jest prawdą, a co nią nie jest.
