I really liked Fringe's focus on messing up the laws of science and all that, but I would have loved more creature feature stuff! Off the top of my head the only mutant monsters (unless you include the shapeshifters) are this gal and the hedgehog dude, which I thought were pretty sick.

I love designing creatures so sometimes I welcome images like the one on the wiki for this episode, where I had fourteen pixels depicting this beast in a poorly lit environment to work with. That just means I get to take liberties. The main deviation I made was to add some heavy alligator/rattlesnake esque patterning and more color variation. I'm knowledgable about phenotypical adaptations and animal behavior so while the solid coloring she canonically has wouldn't be a burden, I think the patterning would make her more foreboding as an apex predator and help her evade the eyes of the folks hunting her. Also, adding patterns is fun. She does have snake/tiger/porcupine DNA, which are some notoriously stripey critters.

I also made her scales more plate like (NOT because I struggle with the chunky crocodilian scales, no sir...) akin to a pangolin's. And the komodo aspect of her DNA manifests mainly in those wicked teeth, the bacterial saliva, and the smooth scaly throat. The tiger features are seen in the stripes, the ears (and the stark white spot on them), and the sharp eyes as well as some of the skull structure.

I hope to study this thing's anatomical traits more, so I'll likely draw more of it someday, and I also plan to do the same with the hedgehog guy, and any other mutated beast this series highlights. I've been holding back on lots of Fringe fanart because my human drawing skills are shoddy, so in the meantime, you get creatures! Hurrah!!

I've been holding back posting for months now because I wanted my first ever art to be a love letter to the remnants of the Fringe fandom, but I am pretty amateur at humans and I practiced really hard to get to this point, where I feel it qualifies as pretty nice. Still janky, but this is also meant to be frivolous and goofy, so it is more forgiving?

Without further ado, here's everyone's favorite bisexual lighting bi-universal dork.

I really hope to post more of my boatload of Fringe fanart, but a lot of that would be the equivalent of giving a Victorian-era child red bull when it comes to the elder fans. We shall see.
