My 3 oc portraits all together- city guard Conell and his magpie friend Emerald, knight hero Ahleri and scruffy little Nimble, and lady Zhahara and Taavi the vihari seabird. I feel a bit sad I left out poor Ourem the thrynna (giant Tassie tiger dog) but then I just imagine he's probably off to the side in every portrait lying on the ground keeping an eye on them all
#I didn't actually plan them out so they were the same distance away in frame or rendered the same#whoops#art#fantasy#australia#australian#my ocs#ellennart#Zhahara is the shortest then Ahleri and Conell are both very tall#Conell is juuust a tiny bit taller than Ahleri and he loves the bragging rights#unfortunatly due to my mistakes that isn't correct in the art#Strahliana

Okay I was just sharing a tweet I saw with my friends, right. Then I realized the background- one of the possible decorations you can set for the Blueberry Academy League Club Room, the Dark theme- could potentially be a hint towards ZA. So basically I saw a gold mine in a meme, so thanks for accidentally inspiring me :)
1. The "hag" meta is definitely in for vtubers, so that tracks for Iono lol, but 2 moving away from that, 2. Follow me into this rabbit hole and look here, friends
Besides Larry being beautiful and questioning his life, a lot of us saw the portrait and thought it could resemble Caitlin of the Unova Elite 4 and formerly princess of the Sinnoh/Johto Battle Castle- fitting since Blueberry Academy is off the coast of Unova in the case of Unova Elite 4. Some of you probably think this is old news- be patient, I'm going somewhere with this.
The resemblance is there, especially in the hair in gen 4, but the eyes are different and she's holding a Banette or Banette doll, a ghost type. It was dismissed by many to just be a creepy little girl.
Except, I think it might be a hint or teaser. And before anyone dismisses this. Take a look at these screenshots (from Nintendo Life via google)
A lot of people immediately turn to the painting of Uluru- aka the rock monolith found in Australia, and many tend to focus on that for Gen 10 hints- myself included, of course, I've wanted Pokemon Australia since I was 10. However, what if I told you that if a Z-A hint were a snake...
...It would have bitten you. That's Lumiose Tower in that one sketch, a cleverly hidden tree in a forest of brighter colored trees. There's other stuff there I wanna look at, but unfortunately the angle is purposely bad in Hassel's art room, so you can't focus on it.
So if we go back to the creepy girl in the portrait, knowing that Game Freak already planted a Z-A hint that tiny on that wall, we could possibly go a little nuts and say that maybe she's a character we meet in Z-A.
If that weren't enough- Banette has a Mega Evolution, introduced in XY. So yeah.
Anyway here's what I think: Caitlin has an ancestor that used to be royalty in Kalos, or more fittingly, part of the Lumiose Aristocracy in Z-A's fan proposed time frame of 1850s Rennovation of Paris, or so. Caitlin has psychic powers, fitting for a Psychic type user- but Ghost type trainers also have been known to exhibit supernatural abilities similar to Pokemon Psychics as well, and Caitlin is so powerful that she either had her butler run the Battle Castle for her or sleeps most of the time as an Elite 4 member to keep her powers in check. Perhaps her powers are passed down and a result of a family line of involvement with supernatural Pokemon.
The girl in the photo is either the first or just another of the family that has some kind of innate power or connection to Pokemon in this manner- in this case, ghost types.
Lumiose in XY is actually not that far from the haunted swamp and supposedly haunted house/tourist trap, so perhaps Caitlin's ancestors are losing power in the aristocracy at the time period but still retain some sway, and most importantly could be the proprieter of ghost Pokemon we'll need for the dex AND an "alpha" equivalent ghost type Pokemon.
Picture this: there's a haunted mansion to the north of Lumiose. There's some old documentation inside that will help with your goal of rebuilding Lumiose- but it's haunted. Like HAUNTED haunted. It's layout kinda large but manageable, like Luigi's Mansion in a way. Caitlin's ancestor- maybe of some partial relation to Shauntal as well- helps guide you through this mansion that's infested with ghost type Pokemon.
That's an idea anyway, which admittedly could be a stretch from just a couple of screenshots- but do keep in mind that Gamefreak hid Gmax Toxtricity in their Alolan office in Ultra Sun and Moon on a poster at a bad angle. Not to mention they probably had DeNA use Masters to tease at Volo with Cynthia's Giratina Sygna Suit. Plus the Kitakami Easter egg at Larry's own gym before SV DLC was even announced, or using the English word for Blueberry- a North American berry, instead of the Spanish words for Grape and Orange- to signify Blueberry Academy being off the coast of Unova/America.
Sometimes their hints are right in your face, sometimes cleverly hidden, sometimes it doesn't even register until it hits- so imo, I think I might be onto something here. At the very least, a haunted house in Pokemon is LONG overdue at this point- we haven't had a new one since Alola in gen 7, although that was a destroyed grocery store- the others we've had are repeats of Lavender Tower or Lost Tower and Old Chateau.
... WHICH, BTW, A chataeu... is French :) the Old Chateau- haunted by ghosts, in Sinnoh, where Caitlin was first introduced. Come to think of it, in Hisui, there isn't even a NEW Chateau yet.
So now I think it's a possibility that Caitlin's ancestors were the ones that built the Old Chateau, and possibly used blueprints from one in old Lumiose to build it in the freshly colonized lands of Sinnoh. Blueprints WE help find.
Or, as a lot of people who made it this far are probably SCREAMING at me right now- all of this is nothing and the little girl is just a generic little girl made to be creepy on purpose.
But we like to have fun here in DD's theory corner. And it'll be so hilarious if I got some of this right in the slightest.

Victorian Railways S class
Builder's photo of S300 Matthew Flinders, 1928
The Victorian Railways S class was a class of pacific type express engines, built in 1928 for Victorian railways (VR). Only 4 where built and none of them survived. They where built when VR was at its most successful period of time. They were the final design of the VR's Chief Mechanical Engineer Alfred E Smith, The design was influenced by Nigel Gresley's GNR A1 class.
The class was assigned the broad gauge leg of the Melbourne to Sydney, run for express passenger services. The class was the most prestigious class of locomotive that VR had until the early 1950s when diesel electric locomotives started to be used. They were the first pacific type locomotive that where ran by VR, as well as the first 3 cylinder locomotive type for VR. Known for their power and speed, in their first 10 years of service the time of the Sydney express service was reduced by 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The improvements to the service, the Sydney limited was replaced with the art deco streamliner the spirit of progress and the S class was fitted with streamlined casings to match the new set of carriages. They were equipped with long range tenders so that the 306.6km (190+1⁄2-mile) journey could be a non-stop run, making the service the fastest in Australia's for next 20 years.
The Spirit of Progress headed by S301 Sir Thomas Mitchell near Kilmore East in 1938
As the class only had 4, they were highly utilised, they annually ran up mileages double that of other classes and by 1954 had a combined total of approximately 9,200,000 km (5,700,000 miles). Their size and heavy axle load made the class unsuitable for regular service on any other lines that the north eastern line and in 1954 within the first 6 months of the B class diesel being on the spirit of progress roster by that April the S class had been all been withdrawn and scrapped.
The scrapping of the class was the catalyst for the rail preservation movement to lobby for the preservation of the remaining VR steam locomotives, which resulted in the establishment of the Australian railway historical society museum in williamstown north in the 1962. The numbers of the class where S300, S301, S302 and S303. S301 was the first scrapped in October 1953 and the S300 in September 1954. their names where S300: Matthew Flinders, S301: Sir Thomas Mitchell, S302: Edward Henty and S303: CJ La Trobe. they were named after prominent figures in early Victorian history.
Two of the four tender frames have been saved for preservation by the Newport Railway Museum and are currently used as workshop vehicles at the Newport Workshops. these are numbered VFGA3 & VFGA4. One tender frame and tank are stored by Steamrail Victoria. The fourth tender frame is owned by the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre, which now has had a tender body placed on it.
One of the S class locomotives' whistles survived and was fitted to the R class locomotive R707, the City of Melbourne, to recreate the sound of the original S class-hauled service. for the 50th Anniversary run of the Spirit of Progress on 14 November 1987, operated by the Australian Railway Historical Society.

6246 days ago was October 7 2007, when they filmed "The Black Parade is Dead" and buried their alter-ego band. The performances at WWWY and during the tour have been the band My Chem performing the album The Black Parade; the upcoming shows are a return to the original concept of the band The Black Parade performing a new alter-ego EP called "Long Live" – MCR did not lie to us, TBP truly haven't performed since 2007.
Just like Mad Gear and the Missile Kid, "Long Live" is gonna be an EP-within-an-album performed by the-band-as-another-band and we almost certainly will get some new songs at the 2025 shows if they don't drop before then. Foundations of Decay is the opening track to the upcoming MCR5 (The Concrete Age?), which is framed around resisting His Grand Immortal Dictator (and is totally separate from Paper Kingdom).
Unclear if the alternate universe 1940s vibe of the video is the same universe that led to the California 2019 of Killjoys, but there is definitely some content echoing of BL/IND & Korse with HGID and the FabFour Killjoys with TBP. It seems more tonally consistent with where MCR left off in Danger Days and Conventional Weapons than Parade. I mean, they were projecting spiders and swords at WWWY. Also, the ending song on Danger Days is an incredibly distorted and sarcastic American national anthem – election vibes, no?
This isn't a one-off tour or minor announcement. Gerard's been playing actively with this new universe since at least early 2023 –cosplaying his own secretary character in the March Australia shows– and it's definitely a thematic extension of the WTTBP music videos (it's the same skyline).
My guess is that MOAT stands for Ministry of Allegiance Training, and functions just like the reeducation clinic in Battery City. DRAAG is the Democratic Republic of American-Allied Germany (or sth; the gas masks, dirigibles, and general 1940s apocalypse vibe of Black Parade lean this way).
Translated (using good work by @trashthemorgue), the letters in the back of the crowd in the new video seem to spell _R_MN__M_N with at least two of those blanks being the same rune (sort of an odd ¢ that's a horizontal flip of the E-rune). Someone on Reddit raised the possibility that it's DR D MNT DMTN "Dr. Deathdefying (from Danger Days) meant damnation" as a "lol we're fucked" message from the band about the election.
But I feel like MCR isn't very politically vocal in real-time and had their chance to speak out at WWWY if they wanted to. They prefer to work in stories and allegory and costumes and art.
So this new story is going to be about the national band The Black Parade, recently returned from the Ministry Of Allegiance Training after an 18 year effort to control them, rallying the people against their fascist dictator. 'Long Live" is going to be the in-universe EP nested within MCR5 exactly like Mad Gear was nested in Danger Days. "Long Live" has its own page on the MCR website. MCR5 is coming, they're just doing a slow roll.
No earthly clue what _R_MN__M_N means. Excited to find out.
#mcr#mychem#my chemical romance#also i cannot share my source but confirmed gerard was super busy until about 4 mths ago when *something* wrapped up and left his schedule#we'll hear about that probably in the spring#my point is that that's about the right time to story film and produce a short teaser vid

hi!! I was recently at a book store and had absolutely no idea what to get. you seem to have impeccable taste in everything (homestuck, the locked tomb, ur whole aesthetic) so I was wondering if you had a list of books you'd recommend! have a good one (。・ω・。)ノ♡
This is very flattering, thank you 🥰 I like a lot of novels and comics so it would probably be easier for me to narrow it down if you gave me a genre you like but if you’re open to anything here are some of my favs!
Beauty by Hubert and Kerascoët
“When the repulsively ugly Coddie unintentionally saves a fairy from a spell, she does not understand the poisonous nature of the wish granted her by the fairy. The village folk no longer see her as repulsive and stinking of fish—they now perceive her as magnetically beautiful—which does not help her in her village. A young local lord saves her, but it soon becomes apparent that Coddie's destiny may be far greater than anyone ever imagined. Caustic and flamboyant, this fairy tale offers grownups an engrossing take on the nature and corrupting power of beauty, in our age of obsession with it.” (The art in this book is so so so gorgeous. Also I love dark fairytales)
Not Simple by Natsume Ono
“Ian, a young man with a fractured family history, travels from Australia to England to America in the hope of realizing his dreams and reuniting with his beloved sister. His story unfolds backwards through the framing narrative of Jim, a reporter driven to capture Ian’s experiences in a novel: not simple. A story within a story, a book within a book, a tale about the search for family, for an emotional home.” (This one has some really dark themes, highly recommended looking up content warnings before you read. It WILL make you cry, but it’s one of the most beautifully plotted novels I’ve ever read. Also the art style rules.)
Not even gonna bother to introduce this one cause it’s so famous but if you’ve never read the Hobbit, I highly recommend it. Especially because bookstores are always making pretty gilded versions of the book cause it’s so famous.
A short story but: Ligeia by Edgar Allen Poe (sorry I know he sucked) but that short story and the poem it features left a big impression on me. I feel like I can’t describe what the story is about without spoiling it, but if you like stories about mysterious and beautiful women who are involved with the supernatural and death, then you might like this short story!
Okay last one since I don’t want to make this list too long (I have a lot more recommendations if you’d like, these were the first that came to mind!)
Snotgirl by Bryan Lee O’Malley and Leslie Hung
I’m struggling to find a description for the series as a whole, probably because it’s still slowly being released and it comes out in monthly issues (you can usually find the issues compiled into graphic novel format in bookstores, which I still need to get, I only have the issues) But basically it’s about a social media influencer named Lottie Person. She gets wrapped up in a sapphic supernatural romance with a big mystery element. If you’re a fan of the famed “toxic yuri” then this is the series for you, 100%. I’ve actually been meaning to do a re-read 👀

Mina Arndt - The Red Hat (ca. 1914)
After graduating from Wellington Technical School, Mina Arndt studied in London with Frank Brangwyn and at the artists’ colony in Newlyn, Cornwall, with Harold and Laura Knight. She also lived in Berlin, where she studied with progressive artists Lovis Corinth, her second cousin Julie Wolfthorn and printmaker Hermann Struck. Of these, it was the Germans’ sombre palette and techniques that most influenced Arndt.
Following the outbreak of war in 1914, and brief internment in Germany as a prohibited British alien, Arndt returned to Wellington, where she found an attic studio in Willis Street above Bartlett & Andrew’s photography shop. Early in 1915, in this ‘delightful room with many and quaint accessories’, she held a private exhibition of her overseas and recent paintings, etchings and drawings, probably including The red hat, now her best-known work.
The painting is typical of Arndt’s single-figure compositions that fill the frame. The model, Wellingtonian Daisy Hay, wears a shapely buttoned tunic and is silhouetted by the soft light behind her, which also highlights the thickly painted green wall. Her face is cursorily built up with rapidly hatched brushstrokes, leaving her expression inscrutable, as though she has drifted off while posing. Once it becomes clear that this is not a portrait intended to reveal Daisy’s personality, the eye moves upwards to contemplate her crowning glory — the hat. Its oval form is swathed in a scarf, expressively rendered in crosshatched slashes of deep red paint. Its gorgeous painterliness and hue are enhanced and thrown into focus by the simple flat background of harmonious brown and green. An Auckland Star critic, perhaps failing to appreciate Arndt’s subtlety in using shape and colour, and accustomed to bright post-impressionist palettes of artists such as Edward Friström, found her art ‘a little wantingin colour and lightness’.
In 1917 Arndt married Leo Manoy and settled in Motueka, where she worked and taught from a home studio. She produced memorable domestic images of mothers and children, and also of Māori women washing clothes, which she exhibited throughout New Zealand and Australia until her early death aged forty-one. First Word
A drabble where Charlie says her first word.
AO3 Link
Names:
Charlie - Wy
Jack - Australia
Australia, 2008
It was a lazy afternoon. The sun was now just beginning its way to setting, in the living room, Jack sat at his chair, newspaper in his hands. Meanwhile, Charlie was lying down on the floor, various pieces of paper, and crayon sprawled across from her.
The first few pieces of art she made were absent-minded doodles, things that came into her mind. Like flowers, cats, dogs, and bunnies. But her current piece was different. It was going to be a portrait of her and her dad.
Charlie had a crayon on her right hand and her head resting on her left. She began to scribble on the paper, trying to do the best she could to accurately draw the two of them - well - the most accurate a three year old could get.
After a few more adjustments and added things like a sun, some grass, and of course some flowers! It was ready. Her magnum opus was ready to be shown to her dad.
Charlie grinned, then stood up and turned to face dad's chair. Only for her to be greeted with an empty chair with some newspaper where her dad should be sitting.
It's okay! Maybe he'd just moved? She looked around the room. He wasn't anywhere. Panic now beginning to rise within her, she yelled.
"Papa? Papa!?"
Immediately, she heard the hurried sounds of footsteps, and the next thing she knew, she was being hoisted up into the air by none other than her dad.
"Papa!" Charlie exclaimed out of relief and hugged him tightly.
"I'm right here, Charlie!" Jack said, he was beaming as he hugged her back. "You said your first word!" He grinned widely, feeling giddy and excited.
Jack lifted her up into the air, "That's my clever little girl!"
Charlie didn't understand why he was so happy all of the sudden, but his joy was contagious, and she couldn't help but to smile alongside him. She giggled in delight as her father spun her around.
When the excitement finally died down, Jack had set her down and she showed him her drawing with pride.
To this day that drawing sits framed in Jack's room.
