getting her fat is kinda very much the plan! a very very thick shortstack, fluffier than the pancakes and tubby 'n pudgy. wings puffed up with adipose, her little puffy face in a pout as she struggles to fit into her clothes, despite still enjoying all the food..

Mermaid girl with an incredibly chunky tail. She constantly has to rest on rocks after swimming for too long, and as the sailors see her, much like her sisters, she tries to lure them in, her belly hanging from the rock and touching the topmost part of the water. However, the sailors scream "whale!" Or "manatee!" As they see her, making her pout in annoyance and drop back to the ocean making a huge splash that makes the sailors wet, as she goes back to her kingdom to eat some caloric food

This is wonderful and very much love the idea that merfolk would be fat for the sole purpose of their (semi) mammalian biology being the cause of them requiring blubber, but if I may add onto this...

A merlady who’s been relegated to working at an amusement park or aquarium, where she “works” by just hanging around in a spacey tank, greeting guests and generally being a friendly, lovely person: to the point where innocent people and children throw her a bunch of snacks and food for her just, well, being there. She keeps on snacking on the human food, even going as far as to asking the staff to get her some after hours, and slowly fattens up nicely, still surprisingly athletic and acrobatic but now: ADORABLE ‘n PLUSH! Like, hugging her would get you wet, but she’s fat as hell and feels like a sea-pillow.

Or... plump pirate merfolk, only raiding ships for the sheer purpose of stealing their food and getting fat off of it.

Furiously hissing and squeaking, Rietta’s tiny fists whaled on the arm rests of the chair she’d been given: a chair that had been built for someone of normal height in mind. A chair that had been built for someone taller that she still had managed to get herself stuck on! Her hips feebly tried to buck against the evil piece of furniture that had trapped her, the vampire’s “super strength” failing her miserably as those leathery wings batted at the devious chair. “Damnit!” 

The attempt only lasted for a few more minutes before Rietta finally slowed to a halt, settling for merely glaring at the inanimate object instead. She’d find a way to get out of the damn thing... One that didn’t involve her “busting out of the chair with her fat ass”, if she had any say in the matter.

Well, how about a short queen, loved by all and praised as a goddess, however, with such a life comes consequences, the fewer things she has to do, the more she grows, the lazier she becomes. Her ass becoming even wider than her own throne, not surprising considering that at her short height, she is almost three times as wide as she is tall. She waddles around the kingdom, her quivering and flabby bottom announcing her arrival due to its insane jiggling, as the people welcome their sweaty queen.

Alright, this is god tier stuff right here, honestly beautiful stuff...
