Hi all! Apologies for the inactivity, I've been rather busy... but I've been working with the lovely Djinn of the (formerly) official DRPG Discord server to get some archives completed. Currently all the Boltrend-translated events are available to read, and a good number of Djinn's (far better) translations are also available.

I'll get everything properly linked on the navigation page when I have the time, but for now, please enjoy!

Disgaea RPG Tower of Demons

Is 14 days too much for a piece? Cause that's what it took to finish this- I always wanted to do a giant group shot like this for every fandom that I've been in, so I'm glad that I finally got one done

Although the piece I submitted wasn't technically done yet, so after the contest I grew impatient to finish it and went on a drawing spree for 11 days straight to get it done. (Sleeping schedule be damned!)

I'm really happy with how it came out and I might secretly add more characters as they come out in the JP version of the game. I really wanted to add the Soul Nomad cast right away along with a few of the other NIS properties but I'll wait... ya never know who they'll add next~

Hi fellow Arc fans on Tumblr! It’s Aruru again.

I tweeted about the item linked above already on my personal account there, so I’ll try to keep the first points of this post brief (on mobile right now).

The above link posted leads to the initial tweet from the official Twitter account for the new Arc game, as well as a link to the series’ new website: https://arcthelad.com (only has the same teaser image as the tweet for now).

From what I was able to understand, we will finally hear some new information on July 30 in Japan (therefore, for many of us, the announcements will likely fall on the 29th).

We’ll keep an eye out for things, but I’d definitely recommend that anyone with a Twitter account that you follow theirs and check their website.

Also, consider RTing other fans, adding your own supportive comments, and search/use hashtags like #ArcTheLad or #アークザラッド while there. (You can send me a DM on my main account, or send a message via Ask if you wish to let us know how to find you/your tweets on the topic over there.)

Now, for some updates/announcements related to the fanblog:

- We’ve NOT forgotten or abandoned this Tumblr project at all.

- We have continued having some issues of some kind at this point. (Mod Aruru notes: Much in my particular case has been related to the aftermath of hurricane Maria, but we’re not going into that here.)

- We’re still committed to sharing with everyone why we love the Arc series, and reblogging and linking that we find of interest outside Tumblr, though we might be changing some things (or how we go about them) a bit.

- The reason I say “we” now is because one of the things I’ve been delayed in announcing is that there is now a co-mod: Please welcome Sparrow, aka @rainhawk! (Among the things we’re hoping to do is work on possibly searching out and translating harder-to-acquire information on Arc-related topics.)

- We might be interested for others to join this Tumblr. If somone wishes to discuss it with us, send an Ask, email, etc!

- We’ve also been working/talking on a Discord server for a bit. A few of you who’d heard about it already have joined, too, and we’re all seeing out other fans to hang with. If interested, keep an eye on us here, or send a message/Ask in the meanwhile for details ahead of time.

- We’ve also made acquaintance with Mr. Jigen, current admin of the Arc the Lad Wiki (http://arcthelad.wikia.com), and trying to assist him there. Please consider joining any/all of us there too if you wish to help out!

So, I like Disgaea! Quite a lot! ForwardWorks a few years back released a joint gambling app w/ NIS called Disgaea RPG. A year or so later, a new company was created to localize licensed mobile apps outside of Japan into the Global app market, Boltrend. This week, no new road map for the app has released and a lot of players are dropping, even more than they already were.

For this post, I want to present you a look into one of the prominent fronts for this app, the Subreddit. This isn't meant to be a belittling post nor am I judging people for playing this app, I have as well, since the start, but I hate DRPG deeply. It's the worst of the worst aspects this series has had since the start. This aside stops now, it's not for this post to get into semantics!

Notably, there's been some sort of drama brewing between Boltrend and staff. I didn't bother to look into this, I don't particularly care. Though, that's current and playing into this app's current downward trajectory. The app's purchases are reportedly broken as well.

For the final look-in, I present you someone misunderstanding how the law works.

NOTICE: Arc the Lad R has officially been released in Japan!

- Perfectly timed too, as it coincides with Arc’s birthday over there (August 23rd). (The information reveal was also timed, for that matter. It was set along with the anniversary of the original game’s release.)

- RPG Site and Gematsu have already reported this news, expecting others to update as well in the coming hours!

- For those curious: I went ahead and tested out my pre-registration a few hours ago, and YES, IT WORKED!

@demonsparrow is unsure if their phone will cooperate with the install, but will be testing this out as well soon, when time for that is available. (I am quite willing to help out anyone who might be interested in installing and trying out the game, if they do not mind that it will be completely in Japanese, and that neither myself not Sparrow have yet figured out all of its offerings [Anyone who wants to offer and pitch in to this is absolutely welcome!]. Still, feel free to send an Ask to this account with your questions!) Hopefully we might be able to at least score you some screenshots of how the game plays! :D

Disgaea RPG Takes the Series to Smartphones in Japan on March 19

  Pre-registration has been ongoing for Disgaea RPG, the first entry in the series made for mobile devices, and now a release date is on the horizon. The strategy-RPG starts its service in Japan on March 19, with ForwardWorks and Nippon Ichi Software serving up some pre-release plans to get everyone ready for the debut. 

  Chief among the plans is a live stream, which will deliver guests, gameplay, and the latest info via YouTube and Periscope on March 15 at 8:00pm Japan Time. A series of countdown illustrations will appear daily on Twitter until the game is live, starting with Etna.
