“Hurrrrrrrry,” Jungkook yells at you from the beach blanket. You were in the middle of taking photos for Jin and Miyeon. The sun setting was just as beautiful as the couple themselves. You couldn’t miss the chance of taking these photos. Plus, Miyeon promised you a little something if you do them. 

“One more,” you yell at Jungkook before taking one last shot of the couple. “Done!” The two started running out of the cold water and towards the blanket where Miya had towels ready for them. 

“What is it?” You ask Jungkook as you sat down next to him, looking through the pictures you just took.

“Ooh that one’s cute,” Miyeon says, looking over your shoulder. 

“I know I really like that one!” You say excitedly. You were so excited to take it back to your room to transfer to your laptop and edit.

“Let’s take a walk?” Jungkook asks. 

“Yeah, hold on,” you said halfheartedly, too focused on the photos. Jungkook glances at Miyeon who gives him a knowingly nod.

“Can I look through them Yn?” She asks you, taking away your camera from your hands. You look up at her with a tilt of your head, making her laugh. “I’ll pick my favorites, go take a walk with Jungkook. Clear your head or something, I feel like your brain is buffering.” You couldn’t even argue with her because you feel like your brain does have poor connection right now. Maybe because your wifi router was back in Seoul.

Jungkook laughs at your confused state, grabbing your hand and pulling you up.

“wOAh-” 

“Sorry,” he giggles, catching you as you fall onto his chest. “Let’s go?” You nod at him. As the two of you walk away from your group of friends, Jungkook looks behind him and gives his friends a nervous nod. All six boys and the two sisters gave him two thumbs up and a fist in the air, mouthing “fighting!!” Jungkook turns his head back and lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding in.

As you two walk farther and farther from the group, he finally begins to speak.

“So you probably know what’s going to go on right about now huh?” He smiles nervously. You shake your head no.

“Honestly, Miyeon was right. I think I left one of my two brain cells back in Seoul,” you say tiredly.

“Mm? You slept so much and we did nothing the whole day,” Jungkook says. laughing. You laugh with him, shaking your head no.

“I had like two hours of sleep last night,” you say sheepishly. “I finished a whole drama in one go.” Jungkook laughs at how embarrassed you sounded at first, but suddenly sounded so proud of your second statement. 

“Really, what drama?” He asks.

“I hear your voice,” you answer. “Lee Jong Suk.” You gave him a chef’s kiss, making Jungkook laugh.

“Ah, really?” He says, you nod. “Ahh~ not as,” he mocks you with the chef’s kiss, “as me though hm?” You laugh, shaking your head no.

“Ahhhh, not quite. I guess he can’t beat my first love.” You say the end a little quietly. Jungkook notices this and grabs your hand for him to hold. 

“I’m really hoping this is the time you ask,” you tell him in a soft voice. “I feel like if it keeps going, I have to stop waiting so I wouldn’t get my hopes up every time you have to ask me something.” Jungkook sighs.

“I feel horrible about it, trust me. I was stupid and shouldn’t have made you feel this way. It surprises me that you even still like me after everything.” You laugh.

“How could I not like you, you’re Jeon Jungkook,” you say, it was the exact same thing you told him when he first asked you out when you were younger. Jungkook laughs, remembering the same memory.

“Then be my girlfriend,” he said, saying the exact same thing his thirteen year old him said. He never did ask you to date him first before asking to be in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. 

“Are we just reenacting our childhood selves, or are you actually asking me?” You say with the last bit of hope you have.

“I’m actually asking,” Jungkook says as he walks to a stop. He turns to face you and he holds both of your hands in his. 

“I’m really sorry for making you wait so long, I want to be with you.” He says, shyly. “Be my girlfriend? Again?” You couldn’t help but smile, finally.

“Well you should know my answer by now,” you say, pulling him into a kiss. Just like Miyeon did when Jin asked her to marry him. 

“Ahh, do you think he asked him already?” Hobi asks from afar as they watch the two of you. 

“No they’re just kissing for fun,” Yoongi says sarcastically. 

“I’m so happy she finally got her happy ending,” Miya says excitedly. Taehyung had his arms wrapped around her, smiling at the two of his old best friends. It was like high school all over again. 

“It seems like all the important questions are being asked on this beach,” Namjoon says, referring to the big relationship related questions that took place in the last 24 hours. Jin looks over at Miyeon lovingly, reminiscing the previous night. She notices his stare and looks back at him, smiling sweetly as she knew exactly what he was thinking. 

“Then can I ask a question,” Jimin says in response to what Namjoon said, winking at the taller man. 

“Keep drinking your juice little boy,” Namjoon responds, avoiding eye contact with Jimin. 

“Tsk,” Jimin leans over to Hobi, whispering, “see, he can’t resist my charm, I wasn’t even going to ask anything weird.”

“I’m guessing that’s a yes,” Jungkook says as you pulled away. You nod happily. “Long distance would be okay with you though right? Because you know I have to go back.” Your heart dropped a little. You know it’s going to be hard to do so, but you weren’t going to let distance stop you.

You nod, “we can facetime, call, I can visit sometime, and maybe you can come back sometime too. We’ll make it work.” Jungkook laughs slightly.

“Good, because I’m not letting this go again,” he says, pulling you into another kiss. 

“When are you four going back to LA,” Jin asks as he turns away from you two. Yoongi turns to answer him.

“When we fly back to Seoul, we’ll be going straight.” Miyeon’s eyebrows raise. 

“Oh.. that fast.” She says, holding tighter to Jin’s hand. Yoongi nods.

“They only have a couple days together then,” Miya pouts. 

“Aish, Jungkook-ah, why’d you have to wait so long,” Taehyung mumbles, watching the two of you walk back to them.

“Don’t worry,” Jimin says with a hopeful smile, “Jungkookie knows exactly what he’s doing now.”

You: You’re so mean *pouts*

JK: What?? What’d I do? *laughs*

You: Babe it’s been like almost a year since we’ve seen each other in person *whining* You were supposed to visit…

JK: I know I know, I’ve just been busy, you know that I have a job now.

You: *sigh* I know but like… weren’t you supposed to at least be here for all the wedding preparations? We all went out today and had a separate bride and groom date-

JK: Yeah but it’s more special for Jin hyung to spend it with his brothers, the boys and I didn’t want to intervene. 

You: Yeah, I guess so— I get that, but you’re going to be at the dinner rehearsal right? Or are you guys coming the day of the wedding?

JK: Well since we’re not a part of the actual wedding, we’re just coming on the day of… I have work the day we’re leaving and I have a lot to do when we get there.

You: Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you’re busy ALL the time *pout*

JK: Don’t worry, I won’t be busy for any longer, I’ll have more time with you I promise.

You: sUrE. But how much will we have before I have to say bye again *sulks*

JK: Babyyyy~ don’t be sad thinking about it now, I haven’t even got there yet *laughs*

You: I know, but please surprise me or something and tell me you’re coming earlier *putting your hands together, closing your eyes*

“They finally get together and now they have to be separated again,” Miyeon says as she watches you and Jungkook walking hand in hand at the airport. You all just landed and your short trip to Jeju was now over. Unfortunately, this meant that your time with Jungkook was over too. 

“I know,” Jin responded. “You guys have everything already?” He says, facing the other 3 boys who were leaving with Jungkook. 

“Yup, all we have to do now is say goodbye I guess,” Hobi says with a sad smile. Their time in Korea was a little longer than planned, but nonetheless, it was a fun trip with unexpected surprises. They made new lifelong friends. They didn’t think leaving Korea would be so hard.

Jimin pouts, his eyes watering slightly at the thought of being away from his new friends who quickly turned into family.

“Aigoo~” Jin says, pulling Jimin into a big hug. “Even though you can be annoying sometimes, I’m going to miss you,” he laughs. Jimin wraps his arms around his hyung, laughing into his chest.

“You guys better invite us to the wedding,” Hobi says, giving Miyeon a hug.

“Of course I will,” she says, hugging him tightly. 

Namjoon looks over at Yoongi who gives him a small nod. He laughs as Namjoon throws an arm over his shoulder, pulling him in for a side hug. 

“Ah~ Namjoonah. I’m coming back again for that hard drive,” Yoongi said, tapping Namjoon’s side. Namjoon gives him a closed smile.

“I’ll look harder for it, hyung, don’t come back too soon,” he says sheepishly, knowing he flipped the house around trying to look for that hard drive.

“No come back sooner,” Taehyung says, “maybe hyung would find it right away if he knew you were coming back already.”

“Yeah, just go to LA real quick to grab your things and come back,” Miya pouts. 

“Wish it was that easy,” Yoongi laughs. The eight of them exchange their goodbyes and I'll miss yous as you and Jungkook continue to walk farther and farther in silence. 

“I know we’re trying to avoid saying it but let’s turn around so I can say goodbye to the rest of the group,” Jungkook says with a small smile. You sigh, but nod, as you two turn around and begin walking back to where the group was standing around.

“You promise to facetime me though right?” You say sadly as you two are walking, your eyes were stuck to the ground.

“Yah~ don’t be sad, I’ll be back sooner than you think. Okay? Stop pouting,” Jungkook says, squishing your face. He giggles, leaning in to give your lips a small kiss. Making you smile.

“There you go, keep smiling and I’ll come back faster,” Jungkook says, smiling back at you. You giggle leaning into his side. 

The two of you are closer to the group now and they watch the two of you.

“Ahh~ There’s the love birds. Hurry up Jungkook, say goodbye so we can leave,” Hobi says, walking past the two of you and patting Jungkook’s back as he passes. You frown at Hobi and he laughs.

“I’m kidding Yn.” He walks to you to give you a hug, whispering to you how much he’ll miss you. 

Meanwhile, Jungkook walks over to Jin and gives him a hug as well.

“Congrats again hyung, I’ll see you again at the wedding?” Jungkook laughs. 

“Yah, I better see you sooner than that,” Jin says, patting the young one’s back. 

“Yeah, you have to be here when we’re preparing for the wedding too,” Miyeon says as she hugged Jungkook afterwards. Jungkook says goodbye to Namjoon and Miya next, leaving Taehyung for second to last. 

“We’re good now, right?” Jungkook says as he stands in front of Taehyung.

“I guess so. But keep your promise this time. I swear I will come for you if you stop talking to my Yn again,” Taehyung says. 

“Correction, she’s MY Yn now??” Jungkook says, making Taehyung laugh.

“Good. Now give me a hug, I can’t believe you’re leaving us for LA for a second time,” Taehyung says, pulling Jungkook into a hug.

“Hopefully the last,” Jungkook whispers. Taehyung gives him a confused look when he pulls away. Jungkook takes a deep breath before facing you and you already had some tears running down your face.

“Aish- I told you to keep smiling didn’t I?” Jungkook says, voice cracking, as he quickly pulls you into a hug. This is what he didn’t want to happen ten years ago when he left for the first time. 

The two of you just hugged for a while. Silent tears running down Jungkook’s face as you quietly sobbed into his chest. The rest of the group had already left to give you two some final alone time. The three LA boys went to get food as they waited, while the two older Kim brothers and Miyeon went back to their car. Miya and Taehyung went to eat as they waited for you to finish. Not wanting you to walk back to the car alone.

“You’re making this so much harder for me,” Jungkook laughs as he wipes his face. You sniffle.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t think it would be this hard,” you say, managing to smile up at him. “I bet I look really ugly right now don’t I?” You grimaced. Jungkook laughs, wiping the smudged mascara underneath your eyes. 

“No, still pretty. Like always,” he smiles. You laugh, slapping his chest, making him smile bigger. 

beep beep

Jungkook looks down and pulls his phone out of his pocket. He tries to not look upset at the text he received so you wouldn’t start crying again. 

“I have to get going so I don’t miss my flight,” he says to you. You smile for him even though you didn’t want to leave him at all. 

“You should get going then,” you say, stepping back. Jungkook lets out a sad laugh, knowing that you were trying to be brave for him.

“I will. I’ll call you, facetime you, text you whenever I can. I won’t randomly stop talking to you so don’t worry about that, okay? If I randomly stop talking, it’s either I’m asleep or dead, so text one of my hyungs to make sure,” he jokes, trying to make you laugh once more. You do, it makes his heart flutter.

Jungkook leans towards you but hesitates and he gets shy all of a sudden. You notice and you make the move instead, leaning up towards him to give him a kiss.

It was a long kiss. Jungkook felt as if time stopped right when your lips landed on his. Meanwhile, you felt as if your kiss would make him miss his flight. You pulled away and hugged him tightly. Pressing your cheek against his head. 

“Get back safely okay?”

“I will.”

“I’ll miss you,” you say.

“I’ll miss you more.” Jungkook pulls away, taking off his jacket quickly.

“What are you--”

“Take this with you,” he says, handing you his jacket. “It won’t be cold in LA as it is here. You need an extra layer.” You smile. It smelled just like him.

“Hold onto it until I get back, okay?”

“Okay, get back quickly so I can give it back to you.”

“I will,” Jungkook says, leaning in for a quick, final kiss.

“Now go, before your hyungs get mad,” you laugh. Jungkook nods, waving at you and walking off. 

You continue to wave at him as he’s walking away. He turns around to wave back at you every now and then, but when he turns a corner you drop your hand to your side.
