Wow, I’ve been practicing Korean everyday, almost, for a whole year. Who would have thunk it, me who failed every language but Swedish and English in school. And I understand things, and I can say stuff! It’s fascinating, it has a rhythm similar to Swedish and a sentence structure and word use totally alien to any native European language speaker! Day 10 - Pop Quiz:  Korean Consonants

You probably saw this coming but it’s time for...

ANOTHER POP QUIZ!!  This time, however, on the Korean consonants.  

Once again, if just the phrase “pop quiz” gives you anxiety, just imagine me as a Professor Kim.  Last time I asked you to think of me as Professor Kim Nam-joon, this time, imagine me as Kim Woo-bin teaching you Korean right now ;) (hmm, I seem to have a Kim theme happening)

Tips on learning Korean

The 'ㅓ' in Korean is romanized as 'eo' but it sounds closer to 'aw' in awesome or 'uh' in English.

If you're bilingual in Spanish and English trying to learn Korean will become I little more harder for you. Korean, Mandarin, Kanji etc are the complete opposite of Spanish. So In order to learn Korean faster you need to forget about Latin since they don't use those as bases.

Stay away from the romanization of Hangul Characters. People see it as a form of cheating if you’re just learning the pronunciation and not the character itself.

Learn Hangul with Me

I know some Hangul, but because I can procrastinate I’d rather make it a segment on this blog. It’ll give me a sense of responsibility. I'll take pictures of how I’m studying and learn Hangul with the readers. You don’t have to do it, you can ignore it for all I care. Currently, I have the app Hangul on my Iphone and I love it! Since I can finish the lessons in one day(that's how easy and simple they are!) I want to study on the side to make sure I understand the content!

I’m going to start watching more Kdramas and listen to slower kmusic so I get used to the different pronunciations.

I'm terrible at studying and sticking things through especially something like this. So, lets hope for the best!
