The Price of Forgiveness
Forgiveness comes at a price. Though it may be offered freely to the offender, it always costs the giver something. The word “forgive” translates the Greek verb aphiemi (ἀφίημι), which means to let go, cancel, send away, or pardon. Forgiveness refers to the act of releasing someone from a debt or offense without demanding payment or retribution. For example, in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus told a…

Ephesians 4:31-32
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

All have sinned against God and fallen short of His standard. (Romans 3:23)  We do not and cannot earn salvation by keeping the Old Testament Laws or by simply being a good person. We will fail every time; it is in our nature to sin. It is only through God sacrificing His Son Jesus in our place, that we can acquire complete forgiveness. Sin has to be punished. Jesus took our punishment on the cross. Salvation is only through Jesus Christ.  It is a free gift to all who accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. He shed His blood to atone for the sins of the whole world.
Regardless of what sins we have committed against God, He offers this gift to each of us. John 3:17 tells us that Jesus didn’t come to condemn us but to save us. Hallelujah!

You can talk about what you wished had happened, or what you think should’ve happened, but when it comes to what actually happened, Jason is not the prodigal son, Bruce did not slaughter a fatted calf for his return!

In the Bible, Joseph was betrayed and sold into slavery by his own brothers, then falsely accused and put in prison. He could have used excuse after excuse to be bitter and angry, but he had a "no excuses" mentality. He kept doing the right thing when the wrong thing was happening. And in the end, he came out vindicated, promoted, and in a place of influence and respect.
Let go of the hurts, offenses, and wounds of the past. Declare that they have no power over you. 💙

HOW CHRISTIANITY SUPPORTS MULTIRACIAL, MULTICULTURAL DEMOCRACY
'The Bible doesn't mention abortion or gay marriage, but it goes on and on about forgiving debt, liberating the poor, and healing the sick' — This pastor perfectly explained how the values expressed in Christianity can support a multiracial, multicultural democracy instead of right-wing extremism (via jamestalarico on TikTok)

God isn’t asking us to be devoid of feelings. Being hurt is normal. Emotions are good. But holding a grudge, cursing and gossiping about others or seeking vengeance is not.
Think about all the times you’ve hurt God much like that person may have hurt you. He didn’t hold a grudge. He didn’t smite you. He didn’t seek to destroy you. He loved you. So, when your emotions seek to overwhelm you, and you’re constantly being reminded of what they did to you- tell God about it. Journal to Him. Vent to Him. Jesus experienced everything you’ve experienced first. (Hebrew 4:15) Your anger and hurt will not phase Him.
Take a moment to pray for the person or people who hurt you. Pray for their healing—because hurt people often hurt people. Ask God to help you understand their perspective and pray for them to be blessed (even if it stings). Lift them up, asking God to pour His love, grace, and compassion over them. Pray for Him to work in their hearts in a way only He can. Pray for Him to work in your heart to forgive them. The more you do this- the more God will fill you with His Spirit: love. 💗
God bless you🌸💗

2 Timothy 2:22-26
"Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."

It is a great virtue to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11
The honorable thing to do in a situation where you have been hurt or insulted is, to refuse to become offended. You may say, "How can I not take offense when I have been spoken to rudely?"
Jesus showed us the way. He forgave those who insulted Him and spat on Him. The reason taking offense is displeasing to God is that it's destructive to relationships. It divides people and causes conflict. It can break up families, friendships, and even churches. It's one of Satan's most valuable weapons against God's kingdom. I know it is impossible in your own strength, but with God's grace and strength you can.
Pray: Father God, Help me to overlook offenses, and forgive those who have hurt us. I need Your strength, Lord. Thank You Jesus for being our example and showing us the way. For Christ's sake. Amen
