I am absolutely in awe of the DETAIL in this show and I can't get over this one..
Emma's Tattoo is the forget me not flower...
Which is the flower on her fathers crest...
The flower traditionally represents remembrance (poignant since Snow and Charming were cursed and couldn't remember Emma) and also royalty which they are (I will get to the true love bit in a moment)...
So forget me nots are mentioned in Peter Pan when describing Captain Hooks eyes...
And Killian Jones in the show has a ring with forget me nots on it...
Also is it or is it not a big clue that the episode where we see the tattoo on Emma's wrist very clearly on show is in the episode 'Talahassee' aka where she first connects with Hook?
(we see it in glimpses before but not as clear and on show as this episode)
The forget me not also represents true love and devotion...
True love? ✅
Devotion? ✅
THIS SHOW
IF ADAM AND EDDY PLANNED ANYTHING IN THIS SHOW IT WAS CAPTAIN SWAN.
#captain swan#killian jones#once upon a time#ouat#emma swan#i know others have pointed this out before#but i just can't believe HOW MUCH THEY THOUGHT ABOUT THIS

My best guess for the flowers:
Pink Gerbera Daisy: innocence, purity, cheerfulness and loyal love
Pink Gladiolus: representative of femininity, gentleness, and love—particularly a mother’s love.
Forget-Me-Not: remembrance, true love, devotion, and royalty
Nettle Leaf Mullein: courage and hope
Delphinium: big hearted
Craspedia: good health and wellness

I saw the hanahaki posts and MAN I AM ENJOYING THIS.
Here's the flowers I think everyone would have if they got hanahaki:
Kinger:
Forget-me-not
they are colloquially known as forget-me-nots or scorpion grasses. While traditionally this flower represents remembrance, they also carry several other meanings including true love, devotion, and royalty and are also associated with Alzheimer's and Alaska.
Gangle:
Love-Lies-Bleedimg
It goes by common names such as love-lies-bleeding, pendant amaranth, tassel flower, velvet flower, foxtail amaranth and quilete. This flower represents hopelessness.
Ragatha:
Hyacinth.
The purple hyacinth specifically, represents sorrow, regret and forgiveness. It can symbolize regretfulness at things not said or troubling issues unresolved
Part 2 coming right up!!
Omg you’re so right

Our flowers and what they represent
Seeker as lavenders and Informant as forget-me-nots
These flowers are something that we desire from each other, on top of encapsulating it’s owner in a way.
Informant on being forget-me-nots On the theme of Rememberance, he doesn’t want to be forgotten. He is someone who has spent years hiding and being on his own, and I like to think that the moment the werewolf incident happened, something clicked in him, a sense of guilt that came along with becoming a form of danger (as the werewolf) which then pushes him to want to help, and why he’s always throwing himself into his work, why he’s so devoted (devotion being one of the meanings behind the flower)
The next theme of forget me nots is True Love. Informant is someone who desires companionship, he wants someone to be by his side, but he’s realistic with this type of love because he knows he wouldn’t be the perfect partner, that he wouldn’t and can’t fulfil everything his partner would want due to his reserved nature, due to all the walls that he has built up.
Additionally on the topic of this, the origins of forget-me-nots are of a knight who fell into a river whilst picking flowers for his beloved, the weight of his armor being the one that caused him to drown. I could project this onto Informant in the sense that his duty was the one that caused his downfall, his fault for leaning too close to danger — to the river just for his beloved. Like not shedding the armor as a form of devotion “i protect you by protecting the world around you”
Seeker’s desires Following the theme of Remembrance Seeker doesn’t want to be forgotten either, to not be needed once the city is saved. Like yes, things still do need to be found, but not in the frequency that would take up all of their time. They don’t want to be cast aside, and besides, what would they even do once the city is over? It goes into their theme of being a blank slate, that they’re only made for one thing. Onto True Love, just like informant, they desire companionship. someone that would understand them, but unlike informant, it’s rather idealistic and innocent in their perception in the sense that, they believe that Informant is the one that they’re meant to be with, which is why they don’t stop being interested even when Informant pushes them away.
something something.. they desire each other so that they can be remembered by each other
Seeker on being Lavenders The first number of themes that ties with lavenders are Silence, Devotion, Serenity and Calmness. On Silence, it’s how they don’t quite have a say in the things they do, a lot of the times it’s the townspeople telling them “yes! do this! do that! get this item and get me that item — quick!” they do have a say in things but it’s only on minor issues, when there are life threatening problems, they are the one that automatically has to step up to do the job. it’s a forced sense of Devotion. They’re the only ones that can do it, so they have to.
On Serenity and Calmness, it’s the fact that they’re supposed to be the rock, the person that shoulders all of the city’s problems, so they keep calm, they cannot panic in the face of other townspeople who are. They’re who people turn to in a time of need, and a pillar of support they will be.
The next set of themes are Elegance and Royalty. Both in the sense that they’re seen as a higher being, not human in a way. They’re a well known figure, they even have fans! they’re already being looked up to.
Informant’s desires Talking about Silence, I imagine Informant would desire this in his past self, from having an overbearing brother, I feel like he’d wish he had someone in his childhood that wouldn’t want anything out of him, someone who doesn’t have any expectations of him. Someone who would listen to him for once. Silence in listening.
Then, Serenity and Calmness. I think this one is rather obvious, with how Informant would desire some respite from his risk filled life. with all that adrenaline pumping, Seeker with their Calm demeanour is something he takes relief in, His Serenity.
Finally, Elegance and Royalty. This is less of a want and more of a ‘makes him think about himself’ It’s another thing he wishes he had in his past self. He never truly felt like he was fit for the life of a noble, so in his perception, seeing that air of Elegance around the Seeker, he can almost imagine them at the parties he was invited to but never went. He wonders of a life where he was more fitting for that sort of life. It makes him rather reflective on where he is now.
#heads up this is a really long post#with a couple of repeated points for people who r familiar with these two#i love them. i’ll post the drawings separately#the informant#seekers notes#selfship#f/o community#「Love Note Unfolded in Secret」

What would Snarry as a flower bouquet possibly be?
Oooh! Coco I love you for asking this, I am so excited!!
My mind jumped first to various flowers used in Orange Blossoms and Contempt. And, in fact, I wrote a whole essay on symbolism used in Contempt that I deleted in a fit of insecurity and panic haha. Oops. (I still have a copy saved so maybe I'll share it again one day.)
So I tried to pull back from specific story connections, and consider Snarry in general, and I have 2 thoughts about it!
Firstly, I want to consider a flower for Harry and Severus as individuals, and at least one to represent their relationship. Then, because I love options, I have ideas for two different bouquets.
Fancy Florist
So if we think of a very luxurious, gorgeous floral arrangement, one that might be presented at say...a wedding...for a sassy brat and a snarky bastard...
Gladiolus (Harry) and foxglove (Severus.) Pair with dahlias and begonias. Gladiolus and foxglove are quite tall flowers. They make a statement and can be quite dramatic, but also make for good cover (if say the grooms are trying to sneak a kiss before vows.)
gladiolus: strength of character, faithfulness, moral integrity, and remembrance. (Sometimes called a "sword lily.")
foxgloves: pride, intuition, creativity, insincerity, and ambition. (Also, they are poisonous!) (Sometimes called "fairy caps.")
dahlias: devotion, dignity
begonias: individuality, peace, caution
For colors, I'm thinking:
red gladiolus: love, passion, aggression, infatuation
purple foxgloves: magic, charm, power, transformation
burgundy ("black") and crimson dahlias: black dahlias symbolize "betrayal" while red dahlias symbolize "strength and power."
white and purple begonias: white for innocence and beauty; purple for royalty, wisdom, and spirituality.
The balance of colors gives us that striking red and purple combination, while also breaking it up a bit with the black and white flowers. We have a lot of that intense symbolism with red aggression and black betrayal, balanced by the softer aspects of love as with white innocence and purple wisdom. You have the tall, proud height of the gladiolus and foxgloves (representing two men standing tall side by side) with smaller, sturdier flowers to hold them up and round them out (how they hold each other up and add more to each other's lives.) They're all very full, bold flowers that represents the louder aspects of them. The parts of them that are big and proud and strong. The parts of them that draw attention, command respect, and inspire feelings (one way or another.)
But then...I have feelings about:
Handpicked Harvest
For this I'm getting thoughts of...how flowers can be spots of color and beauty in the world. And how you might look at something sweet and think of your lover. The time and thought that goes into collecting and styling a gift for them. And the very raw and impulsive feeling of flowers picked on a whim. And how chaotic a bouquet you might end up with!
Here, I'm thinking daffodils (Harry) and irises (Severus.) Blackthorn, dogwood, hawthorn, forget-me-nots, cornflower, carolina rose, and tuberose. It's a lot, but bear with me!
daffodils: rebirth and new beginnings
irises: wisdom, trust, valor
blackthorn: difficulty (and surmounting difficulty)
dogwood: durability
hawthorn: hope
forget-me-nots: true love, remember me
cornflower: tenderness, fidelity, reliability
carolina rose: love is dangerous
tuberose: dangerous pleasures
For this, I'm thinking a dominance of yellow daffodils (joy and prosperity) and blue irises (faith and hope.) A sprig of forget-me-nots. A few cornflowers. A few blackthorns and hawthorns (both white) and a pink dogwood. A single carolina rose (pink) and a single tuberose (white), both side by side tucked to one side. I imagine the bouquet wrapped in a ribbon and these two are peeking out above the bow.
But to really flesh this out, I want to add two more items:
ivy: fidelity
branch of thorns: severity, rigor
Ivy generally relates to eternity and devotion, for the way ivy clings, and because it's evergreen. As for the thorns, well...severity, Severus. C'mon. But this also gives me feelings of how tumultuous their relationship is, and how unfavorably it began. The caution they must have, and how easily they can wound one another. The other flowers, well...unless you know the symbolism, what do you know? The branch of thorns tucked in gives that very real threat of danger, or at least pain.
This whole bouquet feels very wild and chaotic and haphazard, but also one full of thought, meaning, and care.
I like to sort of think they're out in the woods. Severus collects ingredients. Harry gets bored of it after a time, and wanders off to explore on his own a bit. And while apart, they find flowers and pick some for each other. And when when they reunite, they (and by "they" I mean Harry) laugh (while Severus fights off a smile) and pool their resources together into one gorgeous collection. And when they get home, Severus takes the time to tend to them and organize them. Harry finds the ribbon (white) to tie around them. (White meaning purity; specifically here, purity of love.) (It also means Severus won't bite his head off for choosing a red ribbon.)
Maybe we can think of this as when one of them finally proposes. Or maybe it's after, once they're home from the honeymoon. They have the wedding bouquet in a stasis charm they keep by the marital bed. And the handpicked bouquet they put pride of place in the living room, for them both to sneak peeks at while they carry on with day to day life.

@jinjahime said: 💐 BOUQUET - create a bouqet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite? ( for noah! ) OC Emoji Headcanon Prompts // No Longer Accepting!
Poppies- represent consolation, remembrance and death.
Hyacinth- represent peace, commitment and beauty, but also of power and pride.
Carnations- represent devotion, love and fascination
Asphodels- usually associated with the underworld, death, and mourning
Forget-me-nots- represents remembrance, they also carry several other meanings including true love, devotion, and royalty
I'd add more but these felt good enough for a bouquet for Noah. But overall I think her favorite out of all of these would have to be Carnations, for no reason at all- she just thinks they're beautiful.

Yellow chrysanthemums and forget-me-nots for Hanzo. Both of these flowers are having the similar meaning when it comes to devotion and long-lasting of feelings, while yellow chrysanthemum can also mean both rebirth and sorrow, along with forget-me-nots representing the remembrance during parting or after death.
If my muse were a plant or flower, what would they be? || @sonxflight || accepting
I definitely associate Hanzo with yellow chrysanthemums, because their blossom signifies neglected love or sorrow. Japanese associate chrysanthemums with power and royalty. It is also offered as gifts to celebrate autumn, as the flower blooms during this period, and it’s befitting, because autumn is Hanzo’s favorite season. The chrysanthemum's yellow flower symbolizes the sun and the light (immortality) in Japan and those two are what I associate with Hanzo’s redemptive arc, especially in his default verse after MKX and during the events of MK11. The Japanese have proclaimed the chrysanthemum as their national symbol, and celebrate the 'Festival of Happiness' every year in honor of the chrysanthemum. It’s literally the ‘essence of the Sun,’ as its bloom is shaped like the luminescent Sun. They believe that a chrysanthemum petal at the bottom of a wine glass will bring you a happy and healthy life. In general, chrysanthemums are believed to represent happiness, love, longevity and joy, all the things I want Hanzo Hasashi to have in his life.
Forget-Me-Not plants symbolize true love. The forget-me-not flowers are a medium, "true blue". And as the name suggests, they are given or used to decorate gifts with the hope the recipient will not forget the giver. It also symbolizes faithful love and memories. They also symbolize remembrance – both during a parting or after a death. It can also be used to symbolize a connection that endures all challenges and measure of time. That could be a friendship or any other kind of loyalty you may have.
# obsessive cathartic (headcanon)#✗ the ineffable testimony of spawned hellfire (scorpion)#✗ seeking reconciliation with his own humanity (iii)#✗ ugly syllables of conjured vindictive crimson (modern au)#(YESSSSS they're so fitting for Hanzo <3)#(especially regarding how passionate. faithful and loyal he could be with the concept of love)#sonxflight

I found some interesting facts about my blorbos' respective flowers and since I'm a huge flower lover felt like reblogging this to add them:
Primroses, Jia's flowers, are one of the first flowers to bloom in spring, lending them meaning as a symbol of youth and renewal. In chapter 8 of my fic, Jia introduces Miraak to her flowers, and both she and he pick the yellow mountain flowers as their favorite among all else. I headcanon Skyrim's yellow mountain flowers being actually primroses, and according to the Victorians, a gift of a primrose signified young love. Furthermore, in the language of flowers, a gift of a primrose says "I can't live without you," and in Norse mythology, they are a symbol of Freya, the goddess of love...🥰
As for Forget-me-nots, Miraak's flowers, are symbols of remembrance, true and eternal love, and devotion. It is said that giving someone a forget-me-not represents a promise that you will always remember them and will keep them in your thoughts, which is pretty accurate for Miraak alone, who wants to be remembered again in people's minds, and along with Jia as a couple, since they are sealed together by a promise of unity (their growing crescent/eclipse symbol)... Also, these flowers represent royalty and endurance, something Miraak can be characterized during his days as a Dragon Priest...
I was tagged by my dearest @miraakulous-cloud-district to fill this cute template for ocs, so I did make two templates for Jia and her Miraak (since he's clearly become an oc of mine while writing him...😌)!
Now, I'm not really sure who to tag, since I'm afraid I recently bothered my mutuals with plenty of tags in tag games, so I think I'll just leave this open, and I'm 'tagging' anyone who sees it and wants to do it (just remember to tag me back so I won't miss it)! 💖
