my final from last semester that i made into a zine. cooked this one up in a couple hours before the critique (the ink was still wet!), so it's very raw and kind of sloppy but the sentiment is there. i love you trans people of color. we are the backbone of this community 🌟

I know everyone is trying to stay positive right now, but I can’t help but feel rubbed the wrong way about all of the “choose to stay alive” posts when disabled Americans won’t have much of a choice. If the ACA is repealed, my insurance can refuse to cover live-saving treatment and medication. If you’re on disability benefits, you can lose your only income if this administration removes you from them.

I’m having a hard time putting my thoughts into words, but I hope this makes sense. A chronically ill person can’t “chose to live as a form of protest” if they are denied the medicine or the equipment or chemo or surgery they need to live. They don’t have a choice to just live without those things. They will just die.

I know that many people are in crisis right now after the election and trying to plan to keep themselves safe and sane until 2029, but disabled people are arguably the most vulnerable and not being talked about by anyone but ourselves. We are not collateral damage. We are people. People who need to be advocated for by anyone who claims to care about marginalized groups.

I’m the sort of sad that will only be cured by a certain pretty boy sat grinding and squirming on my lap bc he’s about to wet himself 😔 clenching his legs as he tries not to leak, little spurts ribboning down the insides of his thighs, gasping and grunting and humping to desperately keep control of himself but only leaking all the more, hot and wet and splashy in my lap. The mortification of being giggled at and cooed to, then freezing, clamped tight as he loses control and starts to piss, hard and furious, the hiss of liquid drowning out his mortified hiccups and whimpers, his tense shaking body slowly going lax, pretty mouth opening in a soft little sigh… cheeks all red and blushy…

Despite these being obvious parallels, I love how they're still very different scenes. This is how you parallel right. To show progression and/or how two different characters handle the same/a simmiliar situation.

We've already discussed how Stolas tends to shut down and struggle more inwards, so his scene is him just calmly sitting down on the stairs and blankly staring at nothing.

Compared to Blitz's scene, who we've discussed is more prome to show his struggles outwards through anger and agression, so he literally screams up into the sky.

If dog buttons have one hater I am that very hater.

Communicating “in the same language for the first time” through dog buttons as Christina Hunger describes in her book is a failure of the most human proportion, putting too much value on the human (English) spoken word and ignoring that every detail, movement, twitch of our dogs is an act of communication itself. They are already communicating with us, just as human and primitive dog first did thousands of years ago. Just how we have shaped each other’s evolution by our very relationship. The dog understands you without buttons. If you can’t understand a dog without buttons, or “speak the same language” without human spoken language that is your HUMAN failure.
