you stood adjusting your dress as excited chatter filled the room. the party was now in full swing and oscar had still not shown up. sure you had your doubts that he wouldn't but you had known oscar all your life, he wouldn't do that to you.

as if on cue the front door swings open and none other than the man himself steps inside before scanning the room. it's not long before his eyes latch onto yours and it feels as though your heart stops. you can't remember the last time you had seen him and the last time you weren't having an argument over something. oscar smiles and your heart begins to thump in your chest as you see him making his way over to you.

"hey" a familair voice beckons your attention.

you look up at him and smile when you notice that he wore the costume." nice costume" you say giggling as you tuck your hair behind your ear.

"oh yeah my best friend got it for me"

you nod smiling back at him. "so how have you been?"

you roll your eyes before drawing your attention back to him. "is this your subtle way of asking if me and lando are still together"

"i don't care about that" he blatantly lies, scrunching his nose.

haven't done a check in/wrap up post of dramas watched in a while so wanted to do one before the end of the year ✨ hoping to have finished a lot of these and have a list of reviews at around new years

8.5/10 for me. This is my year of loving costume period cdramas and I kicked it off with sokp. Really enjoyed the time travel/redemption plot line and Bai Lu as a somewhat reformed evil empress.

the legend of shenli (cdrama)

9/10 for me. A little slow in places but this goes down in my list of fav drama romances. Badass and admirable female lead and quirky oddball male lead who simps for her (as he should). I found the fantasy somewhat goofy but lovably so. This is a *comfort* show for me now. Has the best happy ending/post finale last episode I've seen up to now.

9.5/10 for me for the sheer melodrama. Is this technically a better drama than the legend of shenli? No, of course not. Is it entertaining as hell? Yes, so it's gets a .5 boost. Costume period one-woman's-revenge, absolutely delicious. Hilarious male lead who loves the drama of it all and is very handsome. I was telling a friend about this and she was confused. Weren't you just watching this earlier this year? No, dear reader, she had the revenge stuff confused with Story of Kunning Palace. I have a type, and that is conniving women getting what they want in beautiful period costumes while a handsome, competent man answers their beck and call and simps all the while.

4. Bed Friend - I know this was a polarizing series in a lot of ways and I agree to some of the complaints raised BUTTTTTT NET MY FRENZ NET! How am i supposed to not melt into a complete puddle watching King pretend to not be absolutely in love with Uea, and treating him like the babygirl he is, when he looks like THAT. I'm but a mere mortal.

5. La Pluie - I kinda liked the show and disliked it in equal amounts. Saengtai annoyed me quite a LOT towards the end BUT his brother Sangtien - Suar Kritsanaphong had me in the palm of his hand. Him and his kiss with Lomfon is etched firmly in my brain. It HAD to be on this list.

6. Only Friends - Gawd. The Promise. The Promise of it all. Thats what maddens me THE MOST. There was just SO MUCH that they could have done. Even if they stuck with a lot of their similar choices i would have still put it higher up on the list if they hadn't undone all the good work they did in the final episode. I couldnt even bring myself to rewatch anything from this one cos of how disappointingly it ended. That being said - FirstKhao KILLED it as usual, i CANNOT wait for their next one, BOSTON deserved better and my MVP- Mark Pakin AHHH i NEED him on EVERY SHOW EVER but also in ways concerning to me GAWD WHAT A TALENT AND WHAT A FACE.

7. Laws of Attraction - Charn you guys. Charn and his utterly deranged expressions and his even more deranged ex. And ofc everything else the show offered. The drama. The mystery. The family. The romance. THE LESBIANS!!!!? Few things not to love. Especially the finale with all the domestic husbanding going on. Precious af.

8. Hidden Agenda - Far too much nonsensical plotlessness going on here for this to claim this position BUT i'm just a girl watching Joong swoon over his man and losing it in the corridor and proceeding to do that myself cos man he's so damn good in these kinda scenes. I think he'd be good in more serious ones too but I would much prefer it if it was with somebody who could offer more than Dunk (no shade he very cute himself)

Cooking Crush - i went into this with minimal expectations, the trailer didnt do much for me BUT oh my gawd i had SO MUCH FUN with each episode, i laughed SO much and i am very much looking forward to the rest of it

Cherry Magic - TayNew back again together. Karan and his gorgeous existence. Loved the og. The trope where one believes they are hard to love & someone who loves them like it’s breathing- its literally made for this show and i am SUPER excited where it goes. PLS PLS PLS let them keep the aroace character aroace PLEASE!?!?!?

In my dream last night, there was a new fighting game that was released (kind of like Super Smash Bros), with characters from all sorts of video games, most of which I had never heard of before…

But I bought it because it had Soren in it!!

And as the characters leveled up and became stronger, you could unlock new costumes for them.

I was only able to unlock one new costume for Soren, but it was so cute. It was like… traditional wizard meets victorian vampire sort of vibe? Like with purple and black robes, and a crooked wizard hat, but also with a white button down shirt and matching cravat?

Anyway, my fav part of his new costume is that, instead of a spell book, he got a cool looking wizard staff for casting spells, and clinging to the crystal at the top of the staff was this cute rabbit-sized moth… like, it was super fluffy and purple, kind of like venemoth, but even cuter. And when Soren cast his spells, the moth would fly in a little loop around him before clinging back to the staff.

Oh, and there was voice acting, and Soren was voiced by the guy who voices him in feh and engage, and yes, several of his lines did mention Ike.

I was a little upset that he was the only character from the Tellius series that made it into the game, but I was also just happy that Soren made it in at all. Also, the fact that I managed to unlock him so early.

The more you played the game, the more characters you would unlock, but which character you unlocked was always random. Since there were dozens of possible characters, I was worried it would take forever, but I actually unlocked Soren fairly early on.

The dream was so vivid and detailed and now I’m upset that I’ll never unlock any of Soren’s other costumes…

Time travel aspect was alright. like i was worried and it was pretty good

THE MUSIC. So my favs were Red, Life is sweeter, get your hands dirty. Like i was there for the music. There were a lot more rap/faster paced songs. They were good but the ogs are obvi the best

The villians (Morgie, ulina, hook, hades, maleficent) were introduced a little late like i feel like the ending was a bit rushed/forced but perfect revenge was so good

Also was not a fan of young maleficent's like hair for her horns

The ending felt odd, but then uma's voice over answered some of my questions

Maddox hatter was awesome

Brandy as Cindy was great

Also loved Prince Charming having a little blue in his hair like hes such a pooks

aahhh zoro is my favourite LOL. him and shanks, probably, just bc ive known them peripherally for like my entire life, as someone who enjoyed nart & bleach growing up and so i saw op around just by association as the big three.

but mihawk in the live action got me to become actually more invested bc he is so pretty and so like, haughty in the funny way bc he's so serious abt it. and he has a huge sword and his whole aesthetic is so drama. and im genuinely obsessed with his coat forever kudos to the opla costuming dept. and it helps that he's easy to pair with shanks. 😂

there are more reasons than just mihawk (honestly i think what actually got me was the heart and compassion of op in a time of very cynical media) but mihawk certainly helped. :')

Favorite Song/Scenes: The scene right before the final race lives in my head forever. Also OLC Call Me Rusty and also the love ballad ! Actually I love every single scene Rusty is in he always rules

Favorite Costume(s): Firm believer that 80's Bochum Rusty was PEAK in terms of his costume that right there was perfect.

Favorite Ships/Friendships: I am SUCH a prusty shipper they're SO SO SO important. To the point where I don't personally ship Rusty with anyone else oops. As far as friendships go Rusty's relationship with Dustin is so good and so overlooked they are. besties!!!!!

Headcanons: He's a chronic pain/stiffness/fatigue king due to his rust and state of disrepair. I do think that post canon he starts working to combat his issues and get repairs!!!

Unpopular Opinion: Rusty should exclusively be played by baritones or baritenors get these little white tenors OUT OF HERE!!!!!

Hello Mun, Archangel fan over here. Glad to hear from you again. Hope you doing alright

It's been two months since Dark X-Men started so my review so far on the run (2 issues in) is:

They really did my boy dirty. He had one line of dialogue before going down, without a fight, in the very first issue and got ditched by his whole squad while he was still bleeding on the floor (sounds harshly hyperbolic but there was a teenager right next to him whom they all had the time to take with them as they left). Now, the "Archangel gets mind-controlled after being kidnapped on a mission" plotline is nothing new but they at least follow up on in the very next issue so no time is wasted. I could see an improvement on his situation so I'm not so mad

Other than how they treated my fav, I'd say every other character is pretty much in-character? It's been forever since any mutant's been written this way so I'm genuinely happy. Havok (Alex Summers) still has the same characterization from Dark Web tho which is a bit disappointing because it was rather reductive of who he was. I get it tho, this run is very much a follow up on that event sadly so they can't really stray on what it established even if that wasn't a good story in the slightest

I like the concept because it's pretty much what the X-Men used to do/be : Rescuing mutants in need. Being dramatic. Having feuds. Not always seeing eye to eye. Interesting settings. I really missed that and with a team this messy and uncoordinated, those things were a given

The worldbuilding is really really interesting. So far, nothing contradicts what we knew about 616 during Krakoa and things only get deeper in the Fall of X setting with DXM. We get information on both mutants, Orchis, humans, allies and enemies, magic and technology. It's pretty extensive

I still raised a brow a few times while reading but seeing how fast paced everything is (only a few hours passed at best and everyone is always doing something) I can forgive that. It's their first missions on their first night and, again, they're naturally uncoordinated

There's a few mysteries here and there to be solved and I can't wait to see what's in store

It was way less graphic than I expected. I know it was advertised as a violent horror series (and it does deliver) but with everything Kitty Pryde has pulled in X-Men since Fall of X started, DXM looks... erm... tame in comparison? "Graphic violence" is a bit subjective of a description sure, however Kitty is more sadistic in her solo approach than 4 long established vilains (Zero, Emplate, Goblin Queen and Azazel) who have little to no limitations in the amount of chaos they are allowed to bring. So yea

Overall? Good read so far. It was more fun to me than Uncanny Spider-Man which just came out... That one left me more confused than anything (the exposition dump didn't help) and felt so disconnected from everything around it: I can't tell when it's supposed to take place in, be it for Spider-Man (who's currently bad after being stabbed with Norman Osborn's evil essence and still has bad rep with the FF and Avengers), or the whole Fall of X deal (there are solo mutant heroes and full on teams going around New York right now but no one contacted Kurt yet even tho his costume is that obvious?)

Hi!! This is a pretty good review and I have the same feelings. After reading Dark X-Men in one sitting I completely forgot Archangel was a thing, I'm so sorry but he really was that absent from the story. It WAS super weird they just left him when the next day Maddie went out of her way to save her trophy boyfriend but ok Marvel 🤣

I don't have any issues with Uncanny Spider-Man yet but I do agree if you at least look at it from the X-Men's storyline it IS disconnected. And not in a way where we get that Kurt is aloof on purpose, but the writing does not help link it to any other parts of the FOX storylines 😅. Dude is really just on his own

I would watch DWSA word of your body reprise RELIGIOUSLY (for totally straight person reasons) the revival does a great job taking a scene that was mostly played for laughs and make the characters seem much more grounded and whole. 💕
