"Ain't Nobody" is a song by American funk band Rufus and American singer Chaka Khan. It was released on November 4, 1983, as one of four studio tracks included on their live album, Stompin' at the Savoy (1983). "Ain't Nobody" quickly gathered popularity, and reached number one on the US Billboard R&B chart and number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It has become one of Khan's signature songs.

Rufus keyboardist David "Hawk" Wolinski wrote the song around a repeating synthesizer loop backed by a Linn LM-1 drum computer; however, John "JR" Robinson, the band's drummer, played real drums for the recording session. The band held a democratic vote, and they decided to include the song in their album repertoire. Once the song was recorded, Warner executives wanted to issue another song as the album's first single. Wolinski threatened to give the song to singer Michael Jackson and producer Quincy Jones for Jackson's album Thriller if the song was not the lead-off single. The label relented and "Ain't Nobody" was issued and hit number one on the R&B chart for the week ending October 15, 1983.

The song was included on the soundtrack album to the 1984 film 'Breakin''. In 2021, "Ain't Nobody" was ranked number 403 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. 24 things I learned before turning 24

1. It is safe to say being a Taylor Swift fangirl was most definitely not a phase. 13 years and counting sistas.

2. Essential oils before bed really does wonders. Lavender remedies your sleepless nights.

3. “Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.” I’ve made a legitimate effort to take the time to examine flowers when I see or pass them. The intricacy really puts things into perspective.

4. If it doesn’t feel right, it isn’t right. I’ve learned to not settle for anything due to impatience. Have trust in the powers that be.

5. You’re not going to be best friends with everyone...and that’s ok. #Taurus

6. Guitar. I had my first guitar lesson when I was 7, and I picked it back up when I was 18. I’m no more than an amateur, but I always find peace and a positive distraction from life when playing or learning a new song. I owe a lot to my guitar.

7. Find friends that truly believe in you. Supportive friends can change everything. If your friends don’t support what you love, don’t change what you love. Change your friends.

8. Facts aren’t mean. (If you know, you know)

9. Not knowing where you’re going doesnt mean you’re going the wrong way.

We live life everyday, usually doing the same things in a rinse-repeat cycle, but we need to find the things that make us feel alive. Yes. Cheesy. But for me, it’s concerts. 14. One of the most difficult things I’ve learned is, there is no such thing as perfection.

21. Traveling to new places and acting like a tourist in familiar places is so important. I’ve found the beauty in the world is easiest seen when you truly appreciate it.

22. I would be absolutely lost without my mom. She is my saving grace.

23. Happiness is not forever. Enjoy when you have it, and know it will be back when you don’t.

I wonder if he hates me.

My eyes watch Jimmy as he steps from his trailer, his chest huffing up and down in deep breaths as he tries to take a deep breath of the fresh morning air but fails. He always seems so tense, so scared, whenever he's forced to interact with those outside of his comfortable group- including me.

I've been nothing but kind and patient with him, trying to make small talk whenever I can but he always just blushes bashfully and makes an excuse about needing to help something with whatever he can pull out of his ass.

"Hey, Darling!" I shout, taking myself by surprise at my own surge of confidence, my heart racing as Jimmy turns to look at me, his hand raising to shield his eyes from the sunlight.

"Hiya." He says simply, giving me a half smile as I approach him. "Need somethin'?" He asks, eyes quickly looking back and forth between my own until he casts his gaze towards the ground, shifting nervously on his feet.

"I just wanted to ask," I pause, shoving my hands in my pocket, "if I did something to offend or upset you." He looks taken back by my question, his brows furrowing briefly before taking an awkward look around.

"No, not at all-" He starts but I can barely contain my words.

"Okay, well it just really seemed like I did something because every time I try to talk to you-"

"Oh!" He cuts me off, a bashful smile taking over his handsome face, his cheeks blushing in a deep red. "I'm sorry." He mutters incredulously, taking a step towards me as he hands his head. "It wasn't my intention to hurt your feelins'." He whispers lowly, his eyes hiding a bit of embarrassment behind them.

"I just wanted to make sure I didn't offend you or anything." I repeat, looking up at him with a soft smile, realizing that he's nervous, he's not mad. He just seems awkward and excited to be talking to me now that I can see him up close.

"No, 'course not. I guess I just," he pauses shyly before leaning towards me. "I guess I have trust issues." My brows lift in subtle shock but there's nothing but sincerity behind his eyes, just boyish curiosity.

"Oh." I simple say, giving him a shrug as his face relaxes a bit. "Okay, that's okay." I offer, looking back and forth between his eyes, fighting the urge to reach out to him, to take his hands in mine but given his anxiety regarding just talking to me, I can imagine touching him would be overwhelming.

"Yeah?" He asks, eyes squinting in the sunlight and his hair blows gently in the wind, making him look as if he was painted in a painting- pure and kind, not touched by anything bad in this world even though he'd disagree.

"Yeah, of course." I grin, reaching forward to pat him simply on the shoulder before letting out a needed sigh of relief as he does the same. "Just wanted to make sure we're good."

"Yeah, we're great." He grins, his shoulders straightening and his stance switches to something resembling confidence, maybe comfort even.
