ahh red is like a temple of the best lyrics, shes so full of the kind of wisdom i adore in songs so this is truly sooo hard

but id say state of grace has some incredible moments with "all we know is touch and go/ dont let go" (thats just insane), "we are alone with our changing minds, we fall in love 'til it hurts or bleeds or fades in time" and "we learn to live with the pain, mosaic broken hearts" and then on treacherous the opening is sooooo good you can picture it in your mind better than if you were watching a movie "put your lips close to mine as long as they dont touch - out of focus, eye to eye, til the gravitys too much" and then back again with universal life wisdoms - "all we are is skin and bone trained to get along, forever going with the flow" (and it kills you with the personal moment of "but youre quicksand") - literal masterpiece if you ask me, and i just love "nothing safe is worth the drive" its a good reminder,, another one as a reminder "look at you worrying too much about things you cant change, youll spend your whole life singing the blues if you keep thinking that way" and lately ive been having "all love ever does is break and burn and end" in my head so im grateful it exists, and since i first heard it when i was like 12 ive been obsessed with "you almost ran the red cause you were looking over at me" which i didnt even know what it meant since i thought he turned red but im as obsessed now that i know what it means, and ofc "maybe we got lost in translation, maybe i asked for too much, but maybe this thing was a masterpiece til you tore it all up"

One time on a flight that was too short to have movies available but long enough that I needed a distraction, I spent that time listening to FOB songs and noting down my fave lyrics.

Somehow even that unintentional pre=prep still didn’t prep me for this and I’m 28 days behind already. Catching up and completing with a mega-post because I love so many of Pete’s lyrics and love Patrick singing them with his gorgeous voice even more!

Final substitution, from We Didn’t Start The Fire since it wasn’t originally theirs, is just listing events and is one of the very very few times I can’t appreciate Patrick’s voice properly. Could have picked sooo many alternatives as there’s so many more lyrics I love in songs not on this list but went with Miss Missing You for this absolute gut-wrencher of a lyric: “sometimes the person you’d take a bullet for is behind the trigger”
