overall im really quite proud of this, i started this out as just a loose sketch not rlly knowing if ill even finish it bc of how complex the thing is, but i somehow did it???? yay?????????? the perspective/sizing of objects is a liiiittle wack n i kinda lost steam when doing the dead clones n it SHOWS lol but whatever, this is still the most complex piece ive dont in FOREVER, and also i am really patting myself on the back for the fucking ship. like JESUS first of all i had to rewatch the black paladins n take a fuck ton of screenshots to decide what parts of the cloning facitlity or whatever it is to include, n then i had to DRAW IT and it was SUCH A PAIN but! after i laid down the sketch n blocked in the colors it went surprisingly well?? and also this whole piece was done with almost no multiply layers for shading, i did most of it '''''by hand''''', so thats just yknow. another thing i put much more effort into than usual but i think it payed off, theres only so much u can do w multiply, sometimes you just gotta go in and draw the fucking shadows yourself!!!!

(i suppose this could thechnically be funky guys related, i can def see it fitting into that aus world, it can absolutely be interpreted as buddy right after the events of the episode, but i do kinda like to imagine it as an entirely seperate thing? like a bleaker timeline where no other clones survive the crash and kuron slowly dies from untreated wounds, malnutrition, dehydration and exposure<33333 yay!)

Ice clings to her hair and clothes. Her fingers are blackened at the tips. She's fully leaned against Shauna but her body is light, hollowed out. Shauna imagines cracking her open and finding nothing but snow inside. Her face is peaceful, empty, waxen. Shauna lurches away. Jackie slumps. An ear, putrid and grey, falls onto the floor. Shauna screams. [...] "Is something the matter, miss?" the attendant asks. Shauna swallows, and looks back to Jackie. She's warm and breathing, still deep in a drug-induced sleep.

He can’t take monster bodies because they turn to dust, so does he just take the corpses of humans he kills in Stage 4 (assuming there’s much of anything left after the brutal mutilatation) back to Nightmare’s castle and just..prop them up or preserve them so he can practice hugging on them?

Something about Mac's need for a rigid identity, for things to be in neat checkmarked boxes, something about Dennis' need to keep things unlabelled and out of the box. Something about cats in boxes (walls) and cats outside them. Something about whether the cat is alive or dead or in the wall or out, it's still a cat. Identity is a spectrum, but Dennis has always been Dennis, Mac has always been Mac and when they fully see each other and themselves for who they are... well.

I'm always so impressed with Charlie Day's performance in "The Gang Carries a Corpse Up a Mountain." He really nailed that high-pitched sound people make when they're trying to talk, but they're crying too hard. The way he sounds when he says "I needed you there" is beautifully acted.
