♥️ Ranking Richonne
#25: A Few More Days (S7E12)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Say Yes is just rich with Richonne goodness at every turn, beginning early with the opening moments of the ep as well as in their final moments in the ep, which are tied here on my list. Both scenes highlight how much Rick and Michonne value the days they have with each other. And to kick off this love letter episode, I love that we get a moment of Rick and Michonne proving yet again that them + vehicles = gold...
So after a perfect and steamy montage establishing they’ve been having the time of their lives on this run and a sweet conversation about why they’re smiling, we see them in the van eating saviors' pretzels. And I’ve always loved the inclusion of pretzels in this scene for the symbolism in contrast to Dwight and Sherry. It’s a subtle way to indicate that Rick and Michonne are the couple who are going to stay together through thick and thin.
I like Michonne saying they have "good taste in pretzels" like it’s the singular good quality about the Saviors lol. And then I love Rick saying "and batteries" as one of the first ways slick Rick will indicate he wants to stay out longer. And I get his logic - with the walkie working they can stay aware of what’s going on back home while still enjoying this wonderful honeymoon. I was fully on board with Rick’s thinking lol.
Watching it back, I love the ever-so-subtle groan Rick gives when Michonne says they’re gonna need to get back. He is not ready to leave this blissful state he’s in with her and I’m beyond here for it.
Also, I swear if watching all these Richonne scenes back was a try-not-to-smile challenge I would lose horrendously. I can’t not smile. It’s just all so precious every time they’re together, and this is genuinely me during the entirety of their every scene lol...
Tumblr media
And then I just adore the way Michonne notices Rick’s quiet reaction and says his name. She knows her husband, y’all. She knows his silence means he doesn’t want to go home yet.
Rick says “a day and a half more, today and tomorrow.” And truly so much of what I love about this scene and Say Yes in general is that it’s one of the very rare moments where Rick gets to voice something he really wants personally. This isn’t about wanting to keep finding guns. He’s having the time of his life with the love of his life, and he wants to enjoy this as long as he can.
Michonne says they can come back again because, trust, she wants this alone time with Rick too, she just wants to eliminate the Negan threat so their next trip doesn’t have that cloud over it.
I love the way Rick says “just a little more” and looks over at her with his subtle eyebrow raised. He’s the most refreshed he’s looked all season and so happy and in love, and it’s great to see.
Michonne reassuringly says, “We’re okay. We don’t have to find them right now,” and I like how this is where Rick just outright confirms that extending this run is not about finding guns. It’s about what he will later reveal to be what he wants most - “the two of us” - cuz then he lightheartedly responds “yeah I know” lol.
Tumblr media
(Side note: I'm just thinking about how before this love letter 7.12 ep there was the iconic 3.12 Clear ep. And 3.12 also began with the two in the car - however back then Michonne was driving in silence and Rick was thinking they’ll part ways after the Governor fight. How far we’ve come with them that now in 7.12 Rick and Michonne are in this car fully in love on a honeymoon run and wanting all the time in the world with each other. 🥰🙌🏾)
Rick says, “Just a little more okay?” while just eating some pretzels all content. And the delivery of the 'okay?' at the end is so freaking cute.  😋 Andy is so good at playing all shades of Rick, especially a Rick in love.
And then there’s this little silent moment where Rick looks down and then looks over at her with a look that says he knows Michonne wants this time too and that they want to be out here for more than just business reasons.
I love that Rick is always so good at making sure he gives the two of them time together to just put plans and agendas aside and enjoy being with each other. This is different than s1 Rick who was always on the go. He knows how valuable what he has with Michonne is and he cherishes every moment he has with her. Man of the year every year, ijs.
Tumblr media
And then Danai “Always Perfectly Delivers The Line, Even If It's Just One Word” Gurira says "okay" in a way that just communicates so much. The way Michonne looks at him with so much care in this moment before softly saying okay. She knows that while Rick is seeming casual rn, this is also something he really wants and even needs more than he’s letting on, which he’ll reveal when he shares how much has been weighing on him later in the ep. And I think in this moment she knows she really needs this time with the love of her life too.
Also it’s sweet how all Rick had to say was just “a little more, okay?” and Michonne was in full agreement. They both can so effortlessly get the other on board with them. 😋 So she says this heartfelt okay and then Rick is just in his glowy happy era responding with such a pleased “okay” while looking at her so clearly in love.
The way they look at each other and smile with a little laugh upon agreeing to keep this honeymoon going is just perfection. 😍 I love that they both know they are going to stay out here not just as leaders and fighters but as lovers too, as they happily agree to bask in their Richonne bubble a bit longer.
This joy and alone time is what they deserve, and I love how this scene sets the tone for the rest of their honeymoon ep. It let you know that Rick and Michonne's love and desire for each other was going to be central, and I'm forever here for it.
Tumblr media
And then I gotta attach another “few more days” moment at the end of the ep to this ranking because it really does connect. 👌🏽
It’s at the end of Say Yes when Michonne approaches Rick after his irritating encounter with Jadis. Rick and Michonne both really do look so visibly rejuvenated from their honeymoon run. I was looking at both of them in this scene like...
Tumblr media
And I love that seeing her man is upset, Michonne knows just how to uplift him.
The scene starts with Rick clearly frustrated after Jadis changed the deal and tried to demand the cat sculpture back. When that trash lady told Rick she wanted the cat back I was like...
Tumblr media
Because see Rick is in the business of gifting Michonne, so Jadis and the junkyard had another thing coming if they thought he was giving his wife's cat sculpture back lol. He even retools the deal to let Jadis know she tried it, and then he has this lone moment looking annoyed just before Michonne approaches. And just the way she looks at him when she slowly enters the scene is already so sweet. 🥹
I love how she says, "You get a few more days before what happens next." Which as we know from their previous heart-to-heart means before the fight.
Tumblr media
Let me tell you, this is a husband and wife. Like officially-married-after-that-7.12-proposal husband and wife. You just feel the spouse vibes radiating off them in this scene, and I’m here for it.
I love that when Michonne lovingly says this, it’s her knowing how much a 'few more days' is something Rick really wanted/still wants and something she now deeply understands the value of too. And sis always be knowing the perfect thing to say cuz Rick's mood is instantly boosted as he turns to face her, elated at the idea of a few more days spent like how they just spent it. 😊
And part of what was so special about Rick wanting to extend their trip throughout this ep is that it was truly just the two of them on that honeymoon run - it wasn't like real-world honeymoons where you're at least around other hotel guests or beachgoers or whatever - but Rick was like, 'even when you’re the literal only person I’m around for days, I still want more of that.' #DirectQuoteFromHisMind 🥰
Tumblr media
It’s cute how Rick perks up as he asks, “A few more days?” I love how Michonne can always improve his mood and capture his full attention. I also love how close they’re standing to each other in this scene and the lighting — you know we love a well-lit Richonne scene. It’s great. 👏🏽
And that Richonne bubble has a strong magnetic field because it seems they just can’t help but be as close as possible when talking to each other here. Truly, at this moment, they feel like it's just the two of them around - but nope, they out here giving big 😍-energy publicly on some strangers' turf. I love it. 🙌🏾
Michonne has such a beautiful glow when she calmly and confidently assures Rick, “that’s right, we’ll find more, we’ll figure it out soon…in a few more days.” 🗣 She's a wife. And scenes like this show that loud and clear.
Also, what Rick and Michonne mean to each other is always so gorgeously depicted, even in just a look. my goodness. #blessed.
Tumblr media
As a moot beautifully stated, Rick drinks her in whenever she's in front of him, and he does so here as he nods and takes her hand. I love that she can so instantly improve his mood and how we just watched them spend all this alone time together all episode, only for them to end the ep excited about the prospect of more time together.
And then the scene ends with them walking away hand in hand because one thing Richonne always finna do is hold hands, and I'm here for it. 🤗
Tumblr media
This was a beautiful way to open and close the Richonne love letter ep. And so these two connected moments - starting with Rick wanting a few more days and ending with the two of them also really grateful for a few more days - were wonderful and had to get some recognition on this list. 😌

have you watched all the episodes yet? what are your thoughts?
I just finished all three episodes and lemme first say. I got netflix again for this premiere and netflix has ads now???? this is bullshit
now some thoughts:
THERE ARE SO MANY STORYLINES I'm being cautiously optimistic but I have no idea how they will tie up everything. also I think the reason there are so many montages and music videos in there is partially because the show went into production too late and they had too much shit to wrap up so we had to figure out cool ways to skip some exposition which. I appreciate when they just say fuck it, deduct it. and if I'm anybody in arcane universe it's actually that thick big titty bitch in bdsm gear in the art at the start of episode 2
everybody is extremely hot, caitlyn obviously, jinx is slaying every shot, ambessa and mel.... I shan't. but also it has to be said, caitlyn has a really hot dad like tobias is a beekeeping age
I'm getting my dues as a caitlyn stan and supporter, I mean I haven't seen the takes yet so she might be already fighting for her life but let me already say I don't give a fuck, I'll be defending her all month. she looks so good, she's eating her lil lines, she's so bitchy - when vi was like I watched them kill my parents do you know how that feels and caitlyn goes yeah I do LIKE SHE GAGGED US BOTH A LIL. the kiss was a massive slay, like absolutely delivered, I have no notes. IM SO EXCITED FOR HER AND AMBESSA TOGETHER if you see me on ao3 in those tags be fucking quiet. like not caitlyn accidentally becoming a dictator because a muscle mommy milf manipulated her, you don't understand she is such a wish fulfilment character for me. also she's slowly giving more and more princess bubblegum the more her villain arc starts
idk why piltover has the worst security than any other place, anybody could blow up piltover. WHEN THAT GUY TACKLED MELS ASSASSIN AFTER HE ALREADY TOOK THE SHOT SJSJJSJSK
vis action scenes eat so hard I know many annoying men will main her because for some reason gamers kind of love butches. I wonder if caitvi is slowly becoming that choice for lesbian edaters like the other two that think are this in league are leona and diana amd also weirdly evelynn and ahri
ambessa is incheresting, like she hasn't revealed much of her motivations beyond trying to seize power and not die but I love the scheming and scamming that the women are committing right now. also she made my wimb tremble many times, just like mel, congratulations to the whole family. the design for black rose fucking eatssssss and overall this is such a game of thrones ass storyline without the excessive sexual assault. like ambessa is such tywin, caitlyn is her arya
that silco montage was giving a bit greys anatomy carousel montages but the animation was beautiful, the melodrama was high, the way you can feel her die inside also peak
I'm like still figuring out how i feel about jinx this season, like she's slaying every scene, she's a diva but idk how I feel about the kid yet. jinx and sevika go crazy together, they ate thaaaat. she's kind of calm as fuck but I think with how suicidal she is it makes sense because it's like she's already given up, she made her peace and is finishing her business before she dies so it's this very eery calm. I kind of fuck with it, I think that's an interesting base but I can't figure out what exactly her storyline will be yet.
and the vi and jinx fight was soooooo. I cant lie when vi was like I didn't think my sister would be orphaning kids and jinx fucking went done it to myself enough, like i cackled. and then I SCREACHED when she said I know you're sweet on her, shut uppp caitvi fandom is so annoying I forgot I love them sm, like lesbians we always win idc
AND THE END PART OH MY GOOOD WHEN JINX GETS HER FINGER SHOT OFF AND SPITS OUT BAD BITCH LINES I WAS LIVING AND SHAKING and then the fucking kid had to get in there. I'm sorry that pissed me off if I was caitlyn I would also take the shot. I'd rather vi ended the moment in someeee way or even if caitlyn took a shot anyway. idk it's just episode 3 I'll see how it goes
overall I think zaun storyline is such a mess but it's so weird fantasy steampunk vibe I kind of love it. viktor girls... I see your vision now I almost fell in love at least once when he started looking like a nuclear waste rat

Okay I'm gonna preface this post by saying I've never seen Primal before. I was just hanging out with my brother and we watched some shows together, like we usually do. And I was going to make a completely separate post until we got to the topic of this one.
Now I'm sure Primal fans have heard enough of this, so as a warning, just know this is me complaining about the finale. So instead of reading that for the umpteenth time, just enjoy the post I was originally gonna make.
Primal is a beautiful show with a lot of great themes. I've always thought the ability to tell a story with no dialogue was a showcase of a creator's skill, and this show embodies that so well.
Hey, so what the fuck was that. Maybe I'm missing context, since we only watched s2 ep6-10, but even my brother hated it, and I could tell that was just not a good conclusion.
Ep6 was a fantastic finale to a rivalry even I could tell had a lot of history. The birthing scene was great, it showcased how each of them cared for each other, whether it was Spear's excitement once he realized what was happening or Mira's little smiles as she watched from afar. That bit where they tried to get the eggs in the boat was very entertaining and I appreciate the personality Fang demonstrates through mere movements and expressions.
The 3-parter was downright beautiful. I love prison break episodes, for one, and I love reunions, so I enjoyed it quite a bit. The Egyptian ship was a gorgeous design, and it did such a good job at showing you the passage of time through small details, like the montage and the growth of the jaguar. In both of these episodes, the final battles were very exciting and fitting to the stakes they presented.
Now notably, what these episodes did not portray was the idea that Spear is lonely. If anything, it does the opposite. It shows how close they all are, how much they love each other and how far they are willing to go to take care of one another. But in the finale, the main idea is that Spear is suddenly super sad and alone. Now this is fine. I think it should have been set up directly beforehand for a smoother transition but sure, I can still get behind this. Again, I'm probably missing context.
The beginning of the finale is really cool. I liked the different origin flashbacks, clearly setting up the stakes and what this fight means to them. I liked the small details, like Fang dropping her kids next to Spear while she went searching. I liked Mira reuniting with her people, including old friends like the lady with the axe wound. And I even enjoyed the demonstration of Spear's loneliness through the cave drawings.
But then the Chieftain shows up. I thought the setup to this in the previous eps was awesome. This is gonna be a really cool final fight against an old foe, maybe lead into the big bad of the Satan-looking fella. And the beginning of the fight was really cool. It was clear that they were overpowered, leaving you wondering how they were gonna overcome this. You know, the stakes are high, Mira's village has history with this guy, their lives are at stake once more. I'm thinking maybe they're gonna get the help of the locals to take him down. But nah. Spear just tackles him and then he gets dragged back to hell for no reason.
But at this point, I still don't realize it's the finale. I was talking with my brother about how this is probably gonna leave lasting scars or maybe Spear'll even die, maybe they'll have to bring him back. And then Fang roared and I was like "okay yeah, something like that". But again, nah. That's just Fang's legitimate reaction to the permadeath of the main protagonist.
But yknow, he groans and is like "Mira" and then she looks at the little mural. And I thought she was gonna grab his hand and maybe they were gonna do the prayer together again in a nice little romantic moment or something but NOPE. Mira really just said "imma help you get off one last nut before you die". Like HUH?? And then before you can even wrap your mind around that BAM! Timeskip. The babies are grown up, their daughter is there, and then the credits. Like I get she wanted to continue his legacy and culture or whatever but it came at just the weirdest time.
Like ???? I have to assume some shit went down behind the scenes before this episode cause what the fuck was that. And like, I have no issue with the timeskip as a concept. I get it, you have one more episode, you might as well end it with something hopeful. But that combined with everything else was just... bad. It all felt so rushed and I felt immense disappointment towards a show I don't even have any relationship with.

Welcome back to the Sideshow Bob Awards!
Tumblr media
If you missed Part 1, that’s where I go over the results for a few polls I had for Funniest Episode, Best Animation, and Best Quote.
This time, let us begin with the results for Best Song. This category had not just the most votes, but the most diverse votes. Sideshow Bob fans might not be able to agree on his best song, but we all can agree that Kelsey Grammer has a wonderful singing voice, and the character simply would not be the same without it. I am happy to say that Hullaba-Lula takes Honorable Mention. If it wasn’t cut from Day of the Jackanapes it might have gotten a lot more votes, because this funny and twisted version of Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da would have been a treat to see animated. Alas, the nostalgia factor may not be at play here, as most would have heard of this song years after the fact. If you are a Sideshow Bob fan but haven’t heard this little ditty, definitely look it up, you’re missing out.
Tumblr media
In Third Place we have The Very Reason That I Live, from The Great Louse Detective. In this parody of I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face from My Fair Lady, Bob realizes he can’t kill Bart. Why? Well, what would he do with his archenemy gone? How formidable could he have been if he could die so easily? He’s been so obsessed with revenge for so long, crafted this identity of a criminal genius, he sees no satisfaction with it having to end. Not gonna lie, there are some lyrics here that are particularly creepy and I think have had a negative impact on how some fans and some writers interpret the character going forward. I don’t think it was intentional, but it is unfortunate. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the song (it’s my personal favorite episode). I think it was very important to his character and I choose to keep this takeaway: Bob feels conflicted about being a villain. He’s been the hero before, and he knows how good that feels. At the end of this song he runs away to attempt once again to start his life over. We had seen him try to reform before and we will see it happen again, but the universe conspires against him. This is ultimately what had endeared him to me so long ago. It is however a strange choice. Earlier in the episode they were talking about putting on the musical Man of La Mancha. They probably should have either done a parody of a song from that or mentioned My Fair Lady instead. Late script change? This is also a rare case of Family Guy doing it first. Stewie sings I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face in the episode Running Mates, which aired two years prior. Honestly, it fits Stewie better, given that Stewie’s mannerisms are somewhat based on the actor who stars in My Fair Lady, Rex Harrison. Stewie’s version doesn’t change any lyrics, so Bob’s version is more transformative.
Somethin’ Stupid takes Second Place, a duet between Bob and Selma on karaoke night, and a parody of Somethin’ Stupid by Frank and Nancy Sinatra. It’s incredibly sweet, but also silly as we hear Bob's dulcet tones alongside Selma's raspy voice, and see a montage of them doing sappy couple things together. I adore that bit of animation of them running through the flowers. I can imagine that any Sideshow Bob lover would DIE to have him sing this song to them. The question is if Bob was singing this in earnest. We know he is a performer and fully capable of making someone, including us, believe his love is genuine. We also know how the episode ends and how he callously sings a reprise to himself with more macabre lyrics. Despite this, I do believe he loved Selma, at least at first. It was a time when both of them were desperate for human companionship and they felt lucky to have found eachother. I believe it was after he realized he wasn’t the most important man in her life that his feelings turned bitter, and the evil scheming began. And maybe that wasn’t what the writers intended. Maybe he was evil from the start of the relationship (though some actions would then not make sense) and maybe Bob coulda fooled me like everybody else. But maybe it’s fiction and I can remember it however I want, and I want to remember this as a cute moment. Because it is. Do I ship it? Maybe.
Once again, Cape Feare wins gold with excerpts from the HMS Pinafore. We start with Bob excitedly singing We Sail the Ocean Blue, drift in to I’m Called Little Buttercup as he wears a thrown together costume of a mop and shower curtain, Bart joins in for I am the Captain of the Pinafore (where did they get those set props and costumes?), and ending with the iconic look of Captain Bob during He is an Englishman. This scene has everything. It’s absurd, expressively animated, 4th wall breaking, and tense. Bob and Bart’s dynamic here is perfect, showing their rivalry to be something terrifying one second and yet cartoonishly hilarious the next. Bart knows Bob so well that he makes one of the smartest moves he’s ever thought of and plays to Bob’s ego. Then we are treated to a range of beautiful melodies with a comedic touch, a perfect balance from Kelsey Grammer. As many times as this scene gets a call back, Bob would never again let his love of Gilbert and Sullivan be used against him. Going out on a high note, he continues to sing to himself for his own enjoyment, and has since learned to weaponize his gift of song on occasion.
Humor, animation, and song. These are the ingredients chosen that make the perfect Sideshow Bob episode. But an extra ingredient added to the concoction: Mystery, elevates an episode to another level of fun, engagement, and intrigue. Erm, spoiler alert. An element of Mystery isn’t exclusive to Sideshow Bob episodes, but during a season of The Simpsons, if there was one episode that was a who-dun-it or how-dun-it or dramatic reveal, often making use of the Bart and Lisa Detective Duo, the honor would usually go to a Sideshow Bob related scheme. How appropriate that for this category, we have a dramatic twist: I have no Honorable Mention, for three episodes are tied for Third Place! Krusty Gets Busted, Cape Feare, and The Great Louse Detective.
Tumblr media
The Great Louse Detective does have a decent set up of clues though very few suspects. The real twist is who the perpetrator really is, based on a character that was only in one episode many seasons prior. It’s possible to enjoy this ending without extensive Simpsons trivia knowledge, but some math related issues with the timeline do make the decision to include this character look poorly implemented. Cape Feare’s mystery is revealed before the first commercial break, though it is a very dramatic reveal and a rather pivotal moment for Bob’s character. The jokes leading up to it are pretty funny.
Krusty Gets Busted should ultimately take the title of Third Place, at least. Being the first Bob episode, and incorporating a true mystery, it creates the blueprint for many episodes to follow. Though Bob pulls us aside to show his true nature before anyone in the story can catch on, we are presented the clues first and can feel proud of Bart for figuring it out himself.
Brother From Another Series takes second, the mystery being: Is Bob still evil? Tragically, the answer is: No! This is the first time in the series that Bob genuinely tries to reform after some of his worst acts, and he would have gotten to, if it weren’t for his little brother. While it might have been obvious that Cecil would turn out to be behind it all, Bob comes very close to snapping multiple times and continued to exhibit antisocial behavior (not that I’d blame him, given the working conditions). We could easily be led to believe that Bob would be the mastermind as always, not the unwitting accomplice. What a twist that he must work with his nemesis to save the town, or try to, anyways. I wish Cecil would make more speaking appearances.
Finally, in First Place, we have Black Widower. While not the perfect mystery (we don’t exactly know when the motive was at play) we are given hints on how it will piece together. Homer’s advice, the mention of the fireplace, Selma’s lack of a sense of smell, these are details that may not grab your attention during a first watch and yet they are very important. It’s funny that such subtle hints could lead to such an explosive ending. And even moreso than in Krusty Gets Busted, we can be very impressed that Bart figures it out all on his own, officially setting his and Bob’s rivalry in stone.
The quintessential Sideshow Bob episode brings the laughs, has quips most quotable, dazzles you with noteworthy animation, serenades you with something sentimental and/or silly, and invites you to play along with a game of mystery. I didn’t want to do a Best Episode category because I knew Cape Feare would win that one too, but these poll results do show why. Cape Feare excels in what makes a Sideshow Bob episode special, and is deserving of the hype that it gets. However, I do hope that we still have some love for all of the other episodes, which together create the lore, character development, and hilarious moments that make this character so dang lovable. Thank you to everyone who voted or left comments in the polls. Your participation made this possible.

From Fiction to Reality: How I Rediscovered My Passion and Built Fortunate Prints
Tumblr media
With the growth of Fortunate Prints over the last few months I thought it was important to share more about my story. It definitely had more curveballs than I expected but I am happy to be able to create value for you on a daily basis. My name is Fortune Owens, and I am the business owner behind Fortunate Prints. Like many other people that I knew in high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I was good at a few things, but they felt more like hobbies rather than “real” skills, which is hilarious when I think about it now. I loved to write, especially fiction stories. I used to write snippets from novel ideas that I had and ask my mother to read them for me. She was incredibly supportive like many parents, always giving positive feedback and wanting to know more about where the story was going. She even provided me with writing prompts after school for a short time as a way of helping me hone my craft. She would leave a word for me that I had to look up in the dictionary, and then write a short story with the word in mind. I smile every time I think of the word “pugilist” to this day; the only reason I know what it means is because it was one of the words she left for me, it is another word for boxer, in case you were wondering.
Towards the end of high school, I really dived into competitive gaming, also known as esports now, and I was particularly good at the Halo series. Halo 2 and Halo 3 were the highlights of my short-lived career and Halo 2 in particular was a huge part of my late teenage years. Some of my oldest friends are friends I met online actually, a few of which, I am still close with to this day. I’ve dealt with depression since middle school, I had a rough time then, and frankly for a while I didn’t want to be here. I’m only sharing this detail with you because it’s an important factor for you to understand why Halo 2 meant so much to me. It took me away from my life and ultimately my mind. I couldn’t spend time thinking about my inadequacies and how much I didn’t like myself, or how I felt weak because I was a large 6’2 man in his youth that was missing out on so many things due to his overwhelming anxiety. When I played Halo 2, I was one of the top 1%, one of the elites, and though I wasn’t on a pro team I was good enough to be. I played thousands of hours of custom games with other pro players and had a wonderful time doing so. It just felt nice to be good at something. This led into me taking a break from my life near Seattle and moving to Portland, Oregon to plan a career in Halo 3. I placed in the pro bracket at a CPL Dallas event, which felt amazing. I was teaming with a friend of mine and though that team fell apart with some of the locals later, we stuck together for an event, we were even fully sponsored. We did alright but didn’t place in the pro bracket although I played well so I was proud of myself. It was a great time, and I learned a lot from it. After that I got into Mortal Kombat 9, a fighting game, and became one of the top players in the state. After Northwest Majors where I tied for 9th place, which was my first major tournament I had a lot of confidence, and every local tournament I went to after that I placed either first or second, aside from one in which I literally disqualified myself by accidentally pausing the game twice in a match. It was kind of hilarious, so I didn’t even get mad, I was learning a new character and her buttons were weird to me, but that’s another story. My point with all of this is these games probably saved my life, because I loved them and I met friends through them, and ultimately, they led me to video editing and graphic design. I started to love editing Halo montages and I always loved movies, so getting to edit brought me closer to something I already loved. I think the fact that I was a storyteller really lent to my love for editing actually, it allows you to craft a story out of footage, and sometimes you can even change the story within the editing process. So, when I think about it, I really owe Halo because without it, I never would have gone to college to study Digital Media. I graduated with a focus on filmmaking, but I learned the basics of motion graphics, 3D animation, and quite a few other things that were invaluable. I wrote and directed a proof-of-concept pilot episode of my show called Epytombs, which I was incredibly excited for but that’s when the biggest curveball was thrown my way. I wasn’t feeling well throughout the production, and I hid it from people because it was the biggest moment of my life; and so many people volunteered their time to help me, so I didn’t want to let them down. After principal photography was over and we headed into post-production, where I began editing over the next few months, I felt worse and worse. Eventually I ended up in the emergency room about 4 times over the course of 6 weeks.
They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me, and my fear and frustration were tag teaming each time they sent me home. Eventually I received an endoscopy, which is where they stick a tube down your throat with a camera on it, and they found a hiatal hernia which was causing severe GERD, gastro esophageal reflux disease, symptoms. It changed my life, and I spent the next 2 years just trying to survive without being in pain. Unfortunately, the side effect was that my film project sat on the backburner the whole time and by the time I got my health under control the moment had felt like it had passed, leaving me feeling completely lost for a while. I worked and went through other trials, but I never lost my passion for creating new things and telling stories. I liked the idea of creating things that mattered, that helped people by making them think about things differently, or improving their mental health. Over time I began to read about self-publishing through Amazon and at first, I was skeptical; how could this business be successful without hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of marketing? How would people know my books even existed among the millions of other books on Amazon and why would anyone want to buy my books when they had no idea who I was, or what I had to offer? All good questions, but after everything I had been through over the last few years, why not? My mother gave me my name, so I thought it was respectful to use it, and Fortunate Prints was born. Though I had a background in design, book publishing was completely new to me so I spent a while researching how to do it properly before I began. I started with journals because they are simpler to make. The interiors are lined paper and the covers are where your creativity gets to shine and to my surprise, I absolutely loved the process. I created countless journals with various designs, catering to people with a wide variety of interests and it felt great. When I was younger, I loved notebooks and journals, they let me get the crap out of my head, well, it felt like crap back then, but that “crap” is what makes each of us who we are. I soon realized that I was publishing products that added value to people's lives, and soon I expanded into other things that people enjoy but also add value. I started publishing Sudoku and other logic puzzle books, as well as both kids and adult activity books. Knowing that I am publishing things that were fun while improving mental health, and teaching kids while putting smiles on their faces has been the best feeling in the world.
If there is any piece of wisdom that can be taken from my story, I think it’s that you never know how your life is going to come together. I expected to be a filmmaker or professional gamer, but my skills and life struggles led me to Fortunate Prints, where all my skills come together, just in a way that I couldn’t have predicted. We can’t see the path ahead, even though sometimes we believe we can. It’s easy to look back and see how you have reached your present, but the future is always a mystery, trust me. I’ve learned to believe in myself, even when I’m scared and I feel uncertain, because I always end up on a path that feels right, even if it’s not what I imagined. I think that’s what life is, a series of mysteries, which means that ultimately your choices are what matter; not how you feel, or what you think, it’s all about what you do.

Unit 1 Blog: My Relationship With Nature
Tumblr media
My family was never “outdoorsy”. Trips to the movie theatre, making sushi in our L-shaped kitchen, playing “race car” with my brother. These memories stand in place of the nature adventures my peers speak about enjoying in their childhood. Now 20-years old, living away from my family, I study wildlife biology and conservation at the University of Guelph, though I often feel out of place. Next to my friends in this program, brilliant people with stories of caving in Iceland, swimming with sea turtles, and hiking the trails of Muir Woods, I wonder if I know what it means to experience the natural world I’ve dedicated my future to.
When I try to assemble some explanation for why nature grew to mean so much to me in spite of my family’s minimal “outdoorsiness”, I think of a turtle. One day in the spring when I was incredibly young, my grandfather, who we called Papa and lived with at the time, brought home a turtle he had found on the side of the road; not the proper thing to do, I know now, but alas. For a few days we kept this turtle in a wheelbarrow filled with water in the backyard, and though I grew attached to my new housemate, one day my Papa brought me on a drive, and together we released this turtle into a nearby river. My first act of conservation.
My Papa was a wildlife lover, emphasized by his unique choice of pets in his youth, including a spider monkey and an iguana, which I wouldn’t believe if there weren’t photos. He was the person motivating my family to get outside, bringing us on trips to a cottage in Picton, hosting karaoke nights under the starlight, and asking me to take my childhood dog, Piper, on walks through a nearby field. Though I’ve never asked her, I suspect this was why my grandmother began hiking shortly after cancer took my Papa away from us; perhaps this was her way of staying connected with him.
Tumblr media
I don’t remember much about my Papa’s passing, and for that I feel guilty, but I do remember the aftermath. Hiking the Bruce Trail, kayaking new sites, summers at wildlife camp, adventures unlike anything I had done before, strongly supported by my grandmother. These blur together in a montage leading me to where I am today, a wildlife biology major with a passion for the outdoors, now having worked hands on with lions, and tigers, and while I can’t say bears (“oh my!”), I’m more than satisfied to say I’ve handled wolves, scorpions, owls, lemurs, and much more in my various roles since the start of my degree.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What is my relationship with nature? It’s complex. Walking through woodlots feels like homework, as I stress to name every plant and identify every bird, to prove to myself that I belong in my program. It’s deeper than that. I’m drawn to the outdoors for the same reason my grandmother started to hike; being in nature is the closest thing I’ll get to having more time with my Papa. Everyday I remember less about him, sometimes I can’t picture his face, but I remember our turtle, the fish that swam near our cottage, and the stars I’d see as he sang Elvis karaoke. I remember how he loved the outdoors, and though I can’t remember his voice, I suspect it sounded like blowing wind through pine trees, or a cardinal singing in the morning. Maybe I was drawn to nature to get closer to my Papa, and I push myself to excel in my degree to make up for the memories of him I’ve lost and the things I will never get to say, but my grandmother created a “sense of place” for me in nature. As described by Interpreting Cultural and Natural Heritage for a Better World (Beck et al., 2018), a "sense of place" relates to how experiencing nature and engaging in interpretation efforts can allow an individual to connect with natural spaces on a deeper level, not only learning more about the physical and historical elements of these sites, but also gaining a sense for how these locations are unique and therefore connecting with them on a personal level. For me, the hikes I took with my grandmother following the loss of my Papa taught me so much about the world around me. I learned about the Indigenous communities who once resided on my home from the stories told by conservation staff we met, I began identifying plants and animals based on the infographics posted along the trails we hiked, and most importantly I learned how to find meaning in the time I spent outdoors by connecting back with my Papa.
Today, I continue to develop my relationship with nature and discover more about how the environment can give me a sense of place in the world. Camping trips with my friends allow me to listen to their stories in nature and see the world from their point of view. Hiking with my new dog, Tyson, reminds me to appreciate my time in nature, to appreciate things others overlook. I've taken guided horseback riding tours through the mountains of Alberta where heritage planners interpret the sites we see and taught me that everything in the world is intricately related. I've volunteered as a steward at nature parks where I learnt about the interface between social and environmental problems, and helped to educate the public on what they can do to help protect nature. And most importantly, I continue to explore and adventure in nature, using the resources available to me online, on infographics in nature parks, on social media, or through conversations with experts to learn what I can about the outdoor sites I visit, leaving each place with memories and life lessons that I hope will never leave me.
Developing a relationship with nature is complicated, and no two people could possibly experience the environment the same way. I'm ecstatic to be starting my interpretive nature blog here with all of you today, to share my stories, to bring to light information about the natural world, and to help you develop your own relationship with nature...so let's get started!
Let me know how you feel about your relationship with nature below!

Is Sambucky Canon or Not?
TL;DR: Yes, it is
I've seen some people saying that they only see friendship between Sam and Bucky, and I can understand that. Because depending on your education, the environment you grew up and the kind of media you’re usually exposed to, you will have a different interpretation of different situations, in real life or in TV. Just let me insert a short story before I dive into the Sambucky topic:
My best friend's uncle is in his fifties and has been living with his roommate (a man) for more than 10 years. They lived together, went on holidays together but officially were just roommates. My best friend wondered if they were a couple, but never talked about it to her parents because it wasn't her business. Two years ago, they decided to come out and get married. My best friend's parents and his parents were genuinely surprised, they were not expecting that, at all, not even a little bit. Let me tell you that it didn’t even cross their mind that it was a possibility, at all. For them, it had always just been two men who had decided to live together because they were single. And preferred to have a roommate rather than living alone.
What I want to say with this story is that people will see what they want to see, or what they're used to see, or what they were raised to see. It’s human.
What I mean is that you will have different perception of a same event, depending on your own circumstances. And I think the writers of TFATWS were counting on that a little bit when it came to Sam and Bucky’s relationship. They obviously didn't want to make some big announcement or big love declaration.
And yes, of course, I have my own circumstances as well, influencing the way I see things. I have shipped SamBucky since Civil War, when they were supposedly enemies. I never expected anything to happen between them on screen. But then they got a show together and I was so so happy about it but I didn't expect anything other than friendship between them.
I was perfectly fine with that because a show was already more than enough: my man Sam Wilson was becoming Captain America, the show was great, the characters were great, their interactions were great, and this wasn't a love story anyway but a superhero show. I thought that here was no way the showrunners would ever go there. I changed my mind after episode 5. I tried to stay objective, but it was clear to me that the writers were hinting at a relationship that went beyond friendship between Sam and Bucky. In some of my previous posts, I explained that there are some scenes and writing choices that make absolutely no sense if you read them as a scene between two friends. I can link them if anyone’s interested.
Side note: I would like to know if one person on this website can tell me what was up with Bucky's behavior with Torres (in episode 5)? What other explanation is there, if not jealousy? It's a scene they chose to keep, so it was probably written this way, there must be a reason. Please I’m begging someone explain it to me. I'm genuinely asking, because otherwise that scene alone is canon Sambucky.
After episode 5, I was convinced they would make Sambucky canon, one way or the other and I started speculating about the ways they could do it. What I said was that if they did make Sambucky canon, they would do it in a very subtle way, in order not to make it too obvious because that’s generally how Marvel movies deal with love stories. And also because they wouldn’t want to scare away their homophobic audience ( I guess Disney needs their money...who knows)
So here are the scenes of how I imagined SamBucky becoming canon and the comparison with reality:
1.
- What I thought we could get : AJ and Cass calling Bucky "Uncle Bucky" - What we got: AJ and Cass running up to Bucky and playing with him. This point is interesting because it’s also related to the point I made about how the environment you grew up in influences your perception of things. I grew up in a big family and I know that, at least in my family, kids don't run up to an adult like that just because it's their uncle’s friend or just because he's nice... There's a real bond there. They haven't seen Bucky just that one time when he slept on the couch. They're obviously close. But some people might just see this as kids being kids. Also, if you watch at how the kids were fake punching him, they were really coordinated with Bucky. They have done this plenty of times. 2.
What I thought we could see: A non-explicit scene where we were supposed to draw our own conclusions. I thought they could show us Bucky staying over for the night, and the last scene would be an empty couch, meaning we would have to understand that Bucky slept in Sam's room this time.
-What we got: Bucky arriving in Sam's car ( A few people on Tumblr pointed out that it was the car Sam was driving in episode 1) So here again we have a scene that a lot of people will not notice. But they still chose to put it there. 3.
What I thought could happen: Sam asking Bucky to stay in Delacroix
What we got: Bucky wrapping things up in New York, as if he was leaving the city for good and coming to Sam's party as if he already knew everyone there. You can read my take on this here. 4. What I thought could happen: The scene in the trailer where we see them looking in the same direction and then we get a shot from very far away where they're holding hands but it’s not so obvious because they are being filmed from a disctance. -What we got: The scene in trailer and then a blurry shot of Sam holding Bucky and then fondling with his neck to find the best spot to rest his hand on. So none of the scenes I was imagining happened exactly like I had imagined, but it felt like all of them happened but in a different versions, which is still crazy to me. If it had been only one scene. I could probably understand the people who see them as just friends. Actually, I still do understand the people who see them as just friends, because everyone has their own interpretation. What I am saying is that they are NOT being portrayed as just friends. There are TOO many scenes in the 6 episodes for it to be a coincidence. One or 2 would be ok but friendship doesn’t explain everything:
The therapy scene (not the therapy scene itself since it was improvised) but the therapist saying she had heard a lot about Sam and wanting them to do a couples’ therapy
Bucky following Sam no matter what
Sam saying ok as soon as Bucky says "do it for me"
Sam asking "what about Bucky?"
Bucky starting to touch Sam whenever he has the chance
Bucky being the one to bringing the suit for Sam
The boat repairing montage
Bucky wanting to stay at Sam's place, when a hotel room would have been more comfortable than a couch
The second day of boat repair in closed quarters with an intense staring scene.
And there are so many other scenes, soft touches, looks,...
These writing choices are not a coincidence, it’s not involuntary, and it’s not fan service ( Fan service is the roll in the flower field scene, or the therapy session). This is them telling a story.
Let’s not even talk about the scenes in Endgame:
Sam comforting bucky at Tony’s funeral
Sam looking up to Bucky for approval before accepting the shield from Steve.
So yes, Sam and Bucky are canon in the sense that Peter and Gamora were canon in the first movie, or Wanda and Vision were canon in Captain Civil War. Meaning that there was no big moment, kiss or anything, but the show is consistently throwing elements clearly showing Sam and Bucky as a romantic item and hinting at a lot more than friendship between them.
It is normal that some people have a different opinion. Because it is extremely rare, in big productions like this to have two male leads with romantic feelings towards each other, so not a lot people who see it will interpret it as such (I don't think it ever happened). You’ll see what you’re used to seeing.
I guess it also depends on what you expect from a love story. For me, the storyline between the characters, their scenes, their chemistry, the way their feelings towards each other are described, are the most important. The kiss scene is just there as a bonus, but I don't need it when the love story is told perfectly. If you’re used to seeing love stories with many kissing scenes, that’s what you will be expecting to see in most love stories.
If you're only used to seeing male friendships in superhero or action movies. The 1000th time you see men interacting in that type of movie or show, you are more likely to assume it is a friendship and nothing more, no matter how many codes and tropes usually associated with romantic movies, the writers and show makers are using.
Add to that the conviction that Disney would never approve Sambucky in a million years, and there you go, I can understand the people who see only friendship.
But, just think about it, if we had the same show, same scenes, same dialogues, but minus the action scenes and the project was being marketed as an Indie movie, would you think they were just friends or a blossoming couple?
If you read Sambucky’s relationship like a friendship: some scenes don't make sense. If you read it like a developing romantic relationship: it all makes sense. "When you hear hoofs, think horse, not zebra" If a writer or a film director chooses a last scene with a romantic setting and the two leads are staring at a sunset, smiling repeatedly at each other and then walking away together with one of them touching the other's neck, with a love song in the background, maybe friendship isn't the first thought they had in mind.
Some people may say “I see them as just friends” and other people may say “ I see them as lovers” and both are fine, because people have different perceptions, and that’s ok.
What I am saying is this post is that the show and the writers are portraying them as more than just friends, they’re portraying them as two characters who are romantically involved.
Perceive what you want but that’s how they are being presented in the show.
Bucky’s therapist said that the exercise she gave them was for couples who want to figure out what kind of life they want to build together. Then, the show ends with Sam and Bucky, staring at a sunset together, looking in the same direction.
“Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction. “  - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
What else do you need???
This show had more romance than half of the Marvel projects out there. Not every love story needs a kiss (for now...)
We'll see in their next projects which direction the writers want to go with this. But since it was said that the writer on the movie is the same as the writer from episode 5, there's no doubt in my mind that we'll keep seeing this dynamic. I don't think they would have made the same choices if this had been a movie. But I won't complain that we got this. I hope they keep this going even if it stays subtle like in the show. Just hope they will add one explicit scene where one of the characters acknowledges their relationship. But even if we only ever get this show, it’s already a great love story. Let me know what you guys think and sorry for the typos and grammar mistakes, I was tired when I wrote the last part. I hope it still makes sense!
If you think they're only being portrayed as friends let me know why! I would also like to know about the way you see this!

Why Do I Have to Feel Like a Fucking Conspiracy Theorist -- OR -- How I Find a Semblance of Peace on Sunday Night
I’m also going to start this out with a GIANT DISCLAIMER.
I am about to theorize about what may have happened to the SPN finale. I have absolutely no insider knowledge. I am merely speculating here based on the panels and a bunch of Twitter and Tumblr posts that I have been reading over the last few days. If you are not in a good place to read such things, TURN BACK PLEASE. Go take care of yourself and your mental health. You and your feelings are valid and deserve to be handled gently right now.
Additionally, if you are here to give me shit for being unhappy with the ending, please walk away as well. I am here to reach out and share my feelings with people who might be struggling to make sense of something that upset some of us in very deep-seated ways. I am not here to bother you or critique you or tell you that you’re lesser because you liked the ending. If you felt it was good, then go enjoy it.
Long-ass post beneath the cut, everyone.
Alrighty folks...I debated whether or not to do this because I have been spiraling down the hell that is the SPN finale since Thursday. The travesty of what happened to our show--to this beloved show that seemed to have been so perfectly and precisely written for at least four years that it had basically already paved its own tarmac on which to land its plane and we all thought we knew exactly what we were going to get. And then we didn’t. We had a nigh Cas-less and entirely Eileen-less ending. We had no goodbye between Cas and Jack. We had Dean dying young after finally finding his freedom, only to ascend to heaven with no one but Bobby. We had the weird, weird, weird incest-y death scene. We had the bridge crane shot thing because...sure. You do you, Robert Singer.
It was so terrible, so truly awful, and I couldn’t seem to square any of it with anything we had known going in. I tossed and turned and cried and didn’t eat or sleep all weekend. I spent hours just reloading tumblr and twitter, going to the Misha panel, reading and reading and listening and trying to figure out what the fucking hell is going on because I needed to know exactly where to direct my anger. And after a fuckton of talking with @winchester-reload, I think we have at least a very plausible theory about what happened here--I’m laying it out below as much for my own peace of mind as anything else, because otherwise all of these thoughts are going to continue to spin around in my head for weeks and I won’t be able to do jack shit.
Now to start off, unfortunately I do think Dean was slated to die from the beginning of this season. I don’t know WHY they thought that was the best way to go, and I wish they had listened to Jensen on this one. Part of me wonders if it was an order from on high based on the discussion between Becky and Chuck earlier this season--the writers knew it wasn’t a great choice, but they were trying to signal to us that we should feel free to write our own endings to the story because they’d be better (I can wax poetic on the signs of why many of the writers probably wanted Dean to live, but that’s another post). I’m not defending that choice by any means, just laying it out there that I think they didn’t necessarily all want to kill Dean like they did.
However, what I THINK I can explain now is what happened with Misha and why we got so jerked around with Cas’s story. Consider what we know (I can’t immediately source all of it, but I did my best):
At the end of episode 15x19, Lucifer has been returned to the Empty after being killed AGAIN. He talks with Cas. Maybe harasses him a bit about Dean, idk. But then...Jack shows up. New God Jack. And he picks up Cas and pulls him out of the Empty, leaving Lucifer behind, because seriously. Fuck that guy (also leaving behind his abusive father is character growth for Jack, so yay for that).
-Misha was contracted to film 15 episodes this season. He was only in 14.
-Misha told Michael Sheen he had to go back to film 1.5 episodes after the shutdown in March. (Starts at 6:13)
-Misha was in Vancouver during filming of the finale.
-Mark P said at Darklight Con that the last scene he filmed was with Alex and Misha (and Mark P was only in episode 19).
-Misha implied that he was present for various filming moments, including Dean’s death (start at 35:15), and said that it felt like a “mini-reunion.”
-Various sources have mentioned that Jimmy Novak was supposed to be in the finale.
-After episode 18, Stands tweeted a fan who was angered and hurt by Cas's death that they could talk about the “bury the gays” issue after the finale aired.
-In episode 19 we know there were takes of the parking lot scene where the only thing fans observing could hear was Dean yelling “CAS” at Chuck (fuck I can’t find this one right now, but it’s definitely out there)
-Also in episode 19, we had a very strange, awkward montage at the end of the episode.
-In episode 20, we know there were a FUCKTON of missing scenes
-We also had no opening montage, but three other separate montages.
-Carry on My Wayward Son was played TWICE, back-to-back at the end of the episode.
-Episode 20 was shorter than normal and had surprisingly little dialogue. The pacing was VERY strange.
-The cast and crew has been almost completely silent about the finale since it came out. When they have spoken, it has been with an awkward excuse of “Uh...COVID?”
-Samantha Ferris has specifically noted that, despite the Harvelle’s being back in play and a big heaven reunion having been planned pre-COVID, neither she nor Chad Lindberg received any such invitation to return.
-Cas and Dean POP Funko figures were pictured together in a replica of Harvelle’s in 15x04.
NOW with all of this in mind (and I’m probably missing some stuff too because there is so much--feel free to add on to that list), please bear with me because here is what I think we were SUPPOSED to get POST-COVID (after it was determined that the reunion couldn’t happen because of the virus):
In episode 20, we start with our NORMAL OPENING MONTAGE, like always. It traces everything that happened during the season. We are reminded of Cas. The confession. Rowena. Eileen. Jack. Billie, God, the Empty, all of it.
Things then follow along in the episode where they did up until Dean dies and wakes up in heaven. After his conversation with Bobby, he drives off to find Cas (who, in the script, was listed as “Jimmy Novak” in order to protect against script leaks--who wouldn’t want to do their best to avoid spoilers about the finale with the wrapping of a fifteen-year show?). He does indeed find Cas. We get Dean’s end of the confession. Hell, maybe we even get a kiss. And then Dean sets up his new heaven home in the recreated Harvelle’s. Maybe Cas even fucking moves in.
Years pass. We get Sam having his life on Earth (still can’t explain why they cut Eileen and couldn’t even have Sam signing vaguely to the blurry brunette in the background; if anyone wants to take that on, go for it). Eventually, Cas tells Dean that it’s almost Sam’s time. Dean takes Baby and goes to meet Sam at the bridge. The cover of Carry on My Wayward Son plays during this much shorter sequence. End of episode.
But that’s not what we got. Instead, much of what I just wrote about was excised from the episode. The remnants were stitched together after shooting had been wrapped. Filler was added in the form of montages and long, unnecessary extra shots to get the episode to something approaching a reasonable length.
But why? Why would they spend all that time and money and quarantining on Misha, only to almost completely cut him out of the finale? I struggled with why the fuck the CW would want this mammoth show to go down as the greatest queerbait in TV history when they had the chance to do something truly beautiful and monumental with it? It couldn’t just be sheer homophobia, right? Well, I think that factored into it, my friends, but here is where my head is at right now.
It was about cold, hard cash.
Now I could be wrong, but this is what I’m thinking at the moment: Supernatural is going off of the air. Supernatural, the CW’s cash cow for fifteen years. Sure there is still money to be made on blu-rays and merchandise and cons...but they need people watching their shows. They need that sweet advertising revenue. And you know what show they have about to premiere? A show that could, potentially, bring with it a chunk of that SPN revenue?
Walker.
And if any of you know anything about the original Walker Texas Ranger, you know that the show was predominantly a show about a very heterosexual white man being very excessively heterosexual. And for SOME REASON over the years, many of the execs at the CW still seem to think that this show, Supernatural, is really attractive to a lot of middle-American white men...whom they desperately want to watch this new show with this guy from Supernatural that they already know.
Now here’s where COVID fucked us. I think Destiel was greenlit by TPTB, at least in SOME form, before COVID. But then the pandemic happened, and they panicked. They got the cut of the last two episodes and watched them in their original, probably queer form. And then, the execs at CW looked at the economy. They looked at their cash cow, about to make its journey to the great beyond. And they looked at this new little calf Walker that they were so desperately worried about. And they made a choice.
They decided that it would be too risky to take the step with Destiel. They were worried about frightening off their ever-so-valuable hetero male demographic with the possibility that a traditionally masculine man in his 40s could be in love with another man in an overt way. It was homophobia mixed with greed, spun up by fear for their revenues because of COVID.
So they called in Singer, possibly Dabb, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they went straight to Singer. They told them that Destiel had to go: executive orders. And the only way to make it go in a way that removed any trace of what had been there was to rewrite what happened to Cas and cut him out from the last two episodes entirely. It was too late to reshoot anything. They had to just cut and stitch and fill with bullshit montages.
They removed the scene at the end of 19, probably because Cas and Lucifer discussed Dean. All that was left of Misha there was his voice on that fake phone call. They may have cut other things too, but I would bet my life that they cut a scene from the end of the episode and replaced it with that very strange montage. Then they moved onto 20. They cut out every scene with Cas. And left in only two platonic mentions of him, neither made by Dean. They tried to imply that Cas might show up in Dean’s heaven at some point, but that was as far as the editors could go in the time they had. They filled in with montages, awkwardly long shots, anything they could do to fill all of those missing scenes.
And they even had to take the opening montage, because literally everything in it pointed to Cas being there at the end of it all. They wouldn’t be able to leave out his scenes, they were too critical to the season. They couldn’t cut his confession without raising eyebrows. So they cut the whole thing and moved “Carry On My Wayward Son” to one of the newly-added driving montages at the end. Which is why we awkwardly had both songs play back-to-back--again, such a strange choice unless they were out of options and couldn’t exactly buy rights to a new track or compose anything else.
And so we were left with the shadow of the finale that we deserved, that Cas and Dean deserved. We were left without resolution or happiness or words. Bobo told us the most important thing about happiness is just “saying it” and our characters were silenced without anyone ever knowing the truth.
I think the writers might have known and been given the new party line that “Misha never filmed, he couldn’t, sorry, it was COVID, no one’s fault!” But I don’t think most of the cast even knew it had happened until they watched the finale on Thursday with us (though they might have been confused why the bit from 15x19 was sliced, they could reasonably have assumed it was a time thing and also BL episodes don’t make sense anyway). Why do I say that?
Well, first of all, Misha started sending out a bunch of excited texts to fans with some old BTS pictures about an hour before the show started airing on EST. He also wanted his children to see the episode, his YOUNG children. Why would he show them such a traumatic episode if their Dad wasn’t in it? What if it was because he wanted them to witness what was going to be a monumental moment in queer television history that their DAD got to be a part of? And then that was all dashed.
Which is why I think the cast and crew went almost completely radio silent the next day. I don’t think they knew. And based on how they have been acting on social media since then, I think many of them are absolutely furious, but they have been silenced because of NDAs, because they want to find work again in a cutthroat industry, because they don’t want to bring down the hellfire of Warner Brothers Entertainment upon themselves. So the most we have gotten is a little acknowledgement from the MERCHANDISING COMPANY trying to validate our pain (god bless Shirts, she is a LIFESAVER) and a response to my salty tweet about keeping good stuff in the closet from Adam Williams (the VFX coordinator) that seemed to acknowledge the validity of my complaint.
Then there was a scramble behind the scenes, I would bet my life. Talking points were fed to the boys who had panels today, to CE, to all the cast and crew:
Toe the party line. Misha never filmed. This was always about COVID. Do not mention Destiel. Do not mention Dean’s feelings for Cas. Do not promote the Castiel Project or anything that validates the idea that this was anything less than a superb ending.
And that is why we have heard so little from the cast on this front, and what we have heard has been muddled and contradictory. That is why the writers are saying nothing. That is why we have been left adrift.
Now before I close this out, I do want to say that I really, genuinely do not think this was on the writers at all. I feel like they tried to give us the best ending that they could, in a writers room that we know is notorious for splitting along party lines about the overall story (BL and Singer, who have always been about the brothers and their man-pain vs. Dabb and the rest who always seemed to want more for them and for Cas). I think they did everything in their power to at least end with Dean and Cas happy together. If they could give us nothing else, they wanted to give us that. And then the network took it from them. From us. From everyone.
For the sake of fucking money.
And the WORST PART OF IT ALL, for me, is that in the wake of this disaster, the fans have been left to try and figure out what happened. We have had to wade through a mire of conflicting information in the midst of all of our collective anger and grief over this garbage ending of a show many of us have loved and even relied on for YEARS, all the while wondering if we’re just fucking crazy, if we have all fallen collectively into the hole of conspiracy theories. That hurts ESPECIALLY badly because we have taken so many hits over the years from other groups on social media saying we were crazy for seeing things that weren’t there (especially Destiel), for writing meta and analyzing tropes and believing the evidence of our eyes and ears. The network has made us relive that entire nightmare WHILE processing our grief for a show we wanted so badly to celebrate and which instead we now have to mourn.
So again guys, I cannot prove that this is exactly what happened at all; this is simply my idea of what may have happened. But right now, it’s the most sense I can make from this mess, and to be honest, the act of typing it out has helped me enormously in my processing of it all. I feel like I can see more clearly, like I know where to target my outrage and where to direct empathy. I feel like just fucking maybe, I might be able to do my job tomorrow without bursting into tears at random moments.
I really hope that this post has helped some of you to, in some small way, process this too. We get through this the way that Misha told us at his panel this morning, the way the writers have told us to do all season long...we throw out the story God gave us and we make it better. We write our characters the happy endings they deserve.
We save them.
One last thing--if you have not already, please consider channeling your rage into a donation to one of the five causes our fandom has put together to pay tribute to our beloved show and to mourn the ending it should have had:
-The Castiel Project
-Dean Winchester is Love
-Sam Winchester Project
-The National Association of the Deaf
-The Jack Kline Project

Thoughts while watching Love in the Air episode 8 (PrapaiSky 1):
~ Obviously they're going to return to that first illegal race to start this section - no question, everything was set up for that to happen. Yet I still feel inordinately proud of myself for predicting it. 😊
~ 🥺 Sky psyching himself up to follow Rain.
~ I don't think we've met Pakin yet? He keeps getting hyped as scary and I had the sudden thought that he's Sky's evil ex. But I don't think that would actually make sense.
~ What motorcycle adjacent company is sponsoring this, by the way? I wondered last time and then never looked into it.
~ Ooh. I think I like this moment of first eye contact - Prapai's interest and smirk, Sky's [puzzled?] stare. The musical cues there were effective.
~ I really really want to like these two together. Please Mame, don't fuck it up for me. Please.
~ I personally connect more with these actors and their chemistry, which makes them more fun to watch, but would also make any creepy parts harder for me to brush off. (Who am I kidding, I know there will be dubcon stuff, the only question is how much, how dubious, and for what percentage of their story.)
~ Sky! I love you. The way he gathers up his courage and grabs Prapai's collar. 💜
Ok. Well this kissing looks pretty fucking consensual so far (if I close my eyes and ignore the whole pressuring him into part.)
Ok. Yeah. That was hot. 🥵 😳 And Sky definitely looked like he was enjoying himself.
~ Ok why are we revisiting this entire scene with Rain and Puyu? Not what I'm here for. Oh maybe it's exposition about how powerful/dangerous the street race organizers are? (But we don't need the whole scene for that, musical cues, kiss and all. It takes away from the PrapaiSky momentum.)
~ Sky 🥺 Why are you sad?
~ But so far it feels like dubcon and pressure, not noncon, so it's tolerable to me. It helps that it's obvious that Sky enjoyed the sex, just doesn't trust Prapai (understandably!)
~ I hope this little nepotism baby at his desk in his suit is supposed to look like a kid playing dress up to go to his dad's office, because he does. Although he looks very good in the suit anyway.
~ Yes Sky! Ignore him and just walk out the door! I love you. 💜 (Shades of Sher from Fahlanruk)
~ I think I like this structure of both characters recalling the night before in flashes the next morning.
~ Prapai is smitten. It's adorable. And it feels true to me that he would be after that night.
~ Ooh. An entirely new character. Hello little brother. An odd conversation that I'm just going to ignore, but we establish that Prapai likes being single and free.
~ I'm starting to feel hopeful that Prapai will have his own character arc and have to change in some way. But not confident.
~ Oh, Sky 🥺
~ I do like that LITA is continuing this structure of their parallel lives in montage. And that we're revisiting some of the university moments from Sky's perspective.
~ Ok. Time skip.
~ SIG!!!! Sig Sig Sig 🥳 (And possible support for a Sig-Som background romance? 👀)
~ Long suffering Sky. My baby.
~ Random non-Sky lover, and Prapai is not feeling it.
~ SIG!!! He continues to be great 🥰 And it's nice to see a more serious but still weirdo side to him. Mediate, baby!
~ I guess we're still mid RainPayu? I don't remember their exact timeline, but I do think it wasn't finished until summer break.
~ Wise elder and occasional wingman/occasional cockblock Saifah is back.
~ I actually like Prapai's decision to pursue Sky. He's waited months, Sky's still on his mind; it makes sense. (However I still don't trust how he's going to go about his pursuit.)
~ More weather puns. They're probably even better if I understand Thai.
~ Sig relaxing and having fun reading 💜 And pulling an all-nighter to do it. I knew there was a reason he's a fandom fave.
~ (More acting through pouting. I'm still not sure about this choice, even with my beloved Sky. Ok, actually I am sure; I don't like it.)
~ Ok, yes, objectively Prapai is being a creep here. But it kinda works for me. And I love Sky's sarcastic responses. 💜 (I think he knows who it is?)
~ Or I guess not?
~ Not to justify predatory behavior, but I'm gonna justify predatory behavior by saying that it's at least plausible that Prapai would think that Sky would welcome this game. (If I squint and ignore a lot.)
~ Oh, Sky 🥺 Is that why you think it couldn't be Prapai? Obviously he's attracted to you, that's how this all started, remember? Are you dealing with low self esteem along with your trauma?
~ More shirtless seme in his home gym scene for... reasons. Damn, this scene isn't even pretending to be about anything but admiring Prapai's body. No objection here. I have to say, my first thought (other than hot!) when I see a muscled up actor these days is "good for him, I'm glad he gets a chance to show off all that hard work in building those muscles."
~ SIG!!! 🥳 In the perfect setting for his weirdness. I'll bet $100 bucks this scene was improvised by Tonnam.
~ Hiding behind the box!! Instant reflex. I love it. Too bad it's also completely ineffective.
~ Rain! Why are you selling out your bestie like this? 😟 oh, I guess he's just kind of oblivious.
~ Prapai is a manipulative dick, but my expectations for him were on the floor, so I'm able to find it kind of cute. And Sky kind of opened himself up by not accepting Rain's offer for a ride. He seems like he'd know better.
~ Prapai's attempt at seduction is neither awful nor all that interesting. I like Sky's hardass responses though.
~ Aww, I think I'm gonna like Sky's developing habit of grabbing Prapai by the collar. And Prapai's smitten look as he Sky walks away.
~ Again establishing (to the audience though not to Prapai) that it's lack of trust, not lack of interest.
~ the steel-hearted boy. I love it.
~ Sky makes a very good point and Rain should grovel. Never give out anyone's phone number without their permission. Rain you darling space cadet.
~ I 💜 Sky
~ Not really excited about this dorm manager gossip, tbh. I like her outfits though, those triangle earrings especially.
~ The complex and nuanced journey of Sky's face when he's on the phone with Prapai. (My instinct is to blame all the moments of overacting on the director, because he can be quite good and subtle.)
~ Plant daddy 🪴 Sky doesn't want to hurt the sunflowers 🌻 🥺 (25 bucks that next episode we'll see them in a vase and not in the trash can.)
~ Teenagers. Lol, Sky is four years older than you, you nepo baby.
~ I like this (probably long-suffering) assistant!
I went into this with basement level expectations for Prapai, both because of Mame in general, and because from the few glimpses I saw on my dash that made it past the filters, it seemed like people hated him. He managed to be nowhere near as bad as I expected, so I was able to enjoy him and Sky overall. I'm sure if I'd watched it naïve I would have hated him much more.

I’d like to ask for the summary of the very last episode of RNM. I feel very conflicted about it ending. I’ll miss a lot of things, including you live-blogging. I would also like to take the time to say I love your fics. ❤️
Tumblr media
Hello my friends! To the first anon, thank you so much! I also have conflicting feelings about it ending, it's been a long journey! I too will miss live blogging and seeing everyone else's reactions and commentary, the comraderie has been one of my favorite things in this fandom (after I blocked everyone lmfao). I do hope to start writing again soon! Thank you 💙
To the second anon, I am happy to be of service to warn others off on whether or not to endure this nonsense. The full summary will be below the cut, but honestly if I had to give a quick answer to your question rn, there were infuriating things about it of course because it wouldn't be RNM without it but not the WORST thing ever?
As always, summary below!
Okay so the whole thing with Clyde honestly ended REAL quick, within the first 25 minutes of the ep lol basically he kidnapped Rosa, took her to Shevani to get her blood taken out because it contained important protein(? maybe??) that would be useful for reviving Shevani's daughter except joke's on her! He actually needed the blood to make a serum that would fix one of the broken pieces of the galactic map.
Meanwhile, Liz called Allie Myers to come to town to help her with the science since her memory has been deteriorating from the alien mist/drug. It was really fun to see her, Liz, and Kyle do some science stuff together to figure out how to stop Clyde. Which they did by making a serum that would put the mark of Ophicus back on him and when he went into the portal he got stuck and then disintegrated, good bye Clyde~!
After that, I forgot who but someone was like well what do we do now? And Michael's like, I've got an idea! Let's have a wedding! They literally only mention Alex dying once and it was in the beginning when someone was like Kyle took Alex back to Deep Sky to figure out what's wrong with him and then I guess he's better now??? Idek
This was the WORST part of the ep, but for some godforsaken reason Alex and Maria have a heart-to-heart right before the wedding. He was like aw Greg can't come but I'm glad I get to have one family member in you being here to support me and then to add insult to injury, they had her walk him down the aisle because the writers want us to connect malex and maria together forever and ever I guess. Sanders shows up and gives Michael a lovely encouraging speech before the wedding and gives him something of Nora's as his something old for the wedding, it was very sweet and touching
It cuts to the Pony where Michael gives a little cheesy speech and then starts singing Edwin McCain's I'll Be and it's a montage of the wedding. Michael and Alex look so happy and lovely it's honestly so wonderful, it made me teary-eyed. Alex decides to take Michael's last name "Alex Guerin" because he's never felt like a Manes man anyway and it was just PERFECT
When Tezca was dying at the end of last ep, she shared a memory with Isobel who then shares it with Max which basically says that Oasis is dying and as the savior he is the only one who can save the planet. So he and Liz sort of break up (except not really because 10 minutes max later they sort of get engaged as a promise I'll come back for you) because for some reason he's the only one that can go. Like Isobel and Michael don't even volunteer to help him lol Dallas decides to go too so it ends with them going into the portal to Oasis.
As for malex, their story ends with them driving out of Roswell in the truck that has Just Married on the back window and the traditional wedding stuff tied to the back. I'm sure they're just going on their honeymoon but I like to think they were just leaving and washing their hands of Roswell entirely haha
As for Kybel, they didn't really have much going on in the ep unfortunately. Their story ending with them cuddling under a blanket together and Kyle asking if he can do anything for her (I think because Max was leaving) and she was like no this is perfect. It was nice :)
And that's it! We are officially done with Roswell forever and it's a strange feeling. This show made me angry in so many ways but it's still strange to say goodbye to a show I've been watching since 2019.

21 Days Theory Ep 3 Stray Thoughts
What is up with Thai BL boys and putting their whole pant legs in water???? Why are they fully clothed to wash X's hair??
The version of Sexual Awakening that Thailand likes works best for high school. They should take notes from Japan on how to do that for adults.
Okay, the false start on the romantic music was funny.
Love how terrible these boys are at keeping their story consistent with this collective flirting.
Honestly, I'm really enjoying the 21 Days as an arbitrary timeline. It's interesting knowing the approximate time gaps between moments. This is usually very vague in BL.
I wonder what X experienced that makes him always choose some contrived reason for him to get Q to spend time with him.
I really enjoyed the shots they used for this working-together quick montage.
Poor Toy. Now I'm sympathetic to a heterosexual crush.
I love Uncle Man so much. I've had versions of this conversation with my friends and relatives when they worry about early queer signs in their kids. We need more queer elders in BL getting in front of stupid plot drama. The mom's journey with her own internalized homophobia is very relevant to this story, but it doesn't need to be her son's problem.
Someday I hope to be this uncle, smirking as I drive my nephew/nice and their paramour out to a (not) date.
The specific juvenile reaction of getting jealous of your aunt/uncle who is just trying to help.
I don't think I like X contriving hangouts, but I do like him being direct with Q about his feelings when Q clearly misunderstood them entirely.
Call whoever it takes. I need a crossover episode where Uncle Man gets brunch with Cheep and Dej from My Ride. I have also had to read the Baby Gays in my community for getting rude with me because they thought I was overstepping. I do not want to date teenagers!!!
Okay, something is wrong with the engine on Man's SUV. They should get that checked.
Toy is adorable. I'm actually enjoying his interactions with Mook.
I'm unsure where I sit when it comes to Frank and Mind. As a former teacher, I feel squick and want them to pull back.
I like these street restaurants in Asian dramas.
Me, a Known Gay, feeling wistful about a straight romance in a BL? It's more likely than you think.
Yes, Uncle Man, gather him to and gether!!!! Drag him! Drag him for filth!!
On the real, I love the way he honors his nephew's feelings, and asked pointed questions to help him sort out what's going on. It's familiar to see people being possessive of their first attractions, but it isn't a healthy response to feed. Love the stern but compassionate correction. Take notes, babies!
"Isn't it just one of the many problems you have to face in life? If you know what you have to face... All you have to do is be prepared. Love is always worth the risk." 😭
"When love occurs, you need to just accept it or let it go." 😭
Yes! Don't make choices for the baby gays! Remind them that their lives are theirs alone to live, and cannot be dictated by the whims of others. I am on the floor! This is what I've been begging BL for.
This show could do with previews.
I'm so goddamn hype after that episode! This was fantastic! I see you, Rookie Thailand!!!

LAS NEVADAS: EPISODE THREE
---
Quackity rides a white horse and overlooks the construction site where the plans for Las Nevadas have been laid out. There is a montage that shows Quackity in New L’manburg, then hunting down Techno in the Final Control Room.
Techno strikes him down and Quackity wakes up at Spawn with a bloody scar over one eye.
There is a rapid timelapse showing the buildings of Las Nevadas getting built one by one. Slot machine sound effects play in the background, then Quackity’s voice:
“Let’s start this hit list. Who’s on the hit list? Dream and Technoblade. If we go after Dream first, we’ll have government, and then Techno will go after us. So let’s just -- let’s just attack the problem from the goddamn root.”
Another rapid-cut montage of Quackity walking down the path to the prison, then a full view of Pandora’s Vault...
---
- Quackity is in the cell with Dream, telling him he’ll show him which weapon he’ll use to torture him this time. He puts an axe up on the wall. While Quackity is talking, Dream suddenly runs up to try and take the axe. Quackity hits him back and grabs it
- Dream cowers in the corner of the cell, pleading, while Quackity shouts at him
Quackity: “You do that again, and it’s over for you. Don’t fucking ever do that again. You understand?”
Dream: “Yes.”
Quackity: “Don’t ever reach for any of my fucking weapons ever again. Okay?”
Dream: “Yes, sir.”
- Quackity says these visits have gotten tiresome, and he’s busy. The Netherite barrier wall is put up between them and the lava. Dream tells him he doesn’t have to visit anymore.
Quackity: “No, I do, I do. This is what you don’t understand, Dream. This is what you don’t understand, okay? I do, I do have to come, every single day, so I can remind you, every bad shit you’ve ever done to me, to any other person on the server -- I have to come every day to remind you, otherwise I think you’ll end up forgetting, and I don’t think I want you to forget.”
Dream: “Forget -- I won’t forget -- I promise you I won’t forget!”
- Quackity asks him when was the last time he saw Technoblade. Dream says it was a little bit before he was put in the prison.
- Quackity asks what their relationship is like, and Dream describes Techno as one of his only allies. Quackity throws Dream a book and quill and tells him to get writing: a note to Technoblade to get him to visit the prison
- If he writes the note and doesn’t ask any questions, then he’ll give Dream a week’s break from the torture. Dream thinks he’s lying and refuses to write the note
- Dream suggests Sapnap instead and Quackity snaps.
Quackity: “If you don’t do that shit, then we’re gonna have issues, alright? You know what? I’m kinda sick and tired of these fucking visits now that I think about it. I’m actually sick and tired! I don’t like ‘em anymore! They’re boring, they really don’t serve any much more purpose, I don’t like ‘em anymore Dream. So this is what we’re gonna do. You either write that goddamn note, or I will kill you. I am not joking, I will fucking kill you, I don’t care anymore, I don’t --”
“What is it, the book? Are you threatening me with the fucking revival book, Dream? Guess what, Dream? I don’t CARE anymore about the book! I don’t give a crap about the fucking book anymore! You understand me? I don’t give a shit! I’ve lost interest in that thing! At this point, the only reason I come and torture you so much, every single day, is merely as a reminder, because at the end of the day, no matter how many times I fucking torture you, that will never amount the amount of fucking evil you’ve done to this entire server and everyone in it--”
Dream: “It’s -- it’s ‘cause you LIKE IT! You LIKE torturing me!”
Quackity: “You know what? You know what? I might, I might. I don’t give a shit, I don’t care what it is, what the reason is, if you don’t write that goddamn note -- I’m going to kill you, Dream. I am going to kill you.”
- Dream says Sam wouldn’t let Quackity kill him, but Quackity points out that Sam is beyond the lava wall, and he can deal with Sam later if need be. Dream shouts that he wouldn’t.
- Quackity starts swinging the axe around, then starts stabbing Dream while Dream begs for him to stop. Dream agrees to write it.
Quackity tells him what to write:
“Dear Technoblade...”
-
Chapter One.
-
There’s a village at night. It’s raining.
Easy job.
Foolish is there.
No innocents.
Big reward.
Easy money.
He draws his bow.
Peaceful heist.
He shoots the arrow into the village.
The village is ablaze and full of lava, people are screaming. Foolish rides off on a horse.
-
THE PURSUIT OF PEACE
-
- A bell rings. It’s Las Nevadas, and Quackity coughs, eating, while Sam comes through the door and sits down in front of him. Quackity asks where Sam found the villager running the restaurant. Sam says he just showed up, and Quackity scolds him for hiring someone random
- Quackity hands him a book with potential roles for candidates, people to join Las Nevadas. Sam says he thought he was going to hire George, Sapnap and Karl. They both pause before Sam says he was kidding
- Quackity asks Sam to tell him about Foolish. Sam has read that Foolish isn’t a good person. Quackity scoffs, but Sam says the two of them haven’t done anything inherently bad, and everything they do is just for justice
Quackity: (laughing) “Yeah, ‘justice.’”
- Foolish used to kill a lot of people. A job gone wrong written about in old history texts. Quackity still thinks he’d be a great option.
- In the future, who’s going to protect them? Sam knows what happened with Quackity and Techno, and they need some force in their team. Sam is still skeptical
---
- Quackity greets Foolish at the summer home entrance, asking how he’s holding up after the Banquet, the places he’s affiliated with
- Foolish is done with contract work for Kinoko Kingdom. Quackity asks him if he’d like to join Las Nevadas. Foolish is honored, but he’s happy at his summer home. As Quackity presses him on it, Foolish keeps insisting
Quackity: “I know who you are, if that makes a little more sense...I’ve done my research, Foolish, I have my connections. I know what type of person you are, if you get what I mean...”
- Foolish tells him this peaceful life has worked
Foolish: “I believed peace could be found through the sword, you know? Fighting. That doesn’t work, okay. That just leads to fear, to power, to hatred, resentment, all of that, okay, it’s a mess. The only thing I did was accelerate war, okay? That doesn’t work. So I pushed back, I ran from it all, and this is good! I’m in a much happier place!”
- Quackity then says he wants to buy Foolish’s summer home from him...for one diamond. Foolish is taken aback as Quackity explains that for all the work Foolish has put into this, it’s just a build.
No one stays here, they just admire and leave it. It is an empty shell that’s beautiful on the outside, but on the inside, it’s decaying, something that will disappear in time with no one to remember it...much like Foolish himself.
Quackity: “On the inside, everybody knows you’re...just a builder. And I was hoping, at some point, you would realize this...after I let you die at the Red Banquet.”
- Foolish is shocked. Quackity was behind those walls and he could have saved Foolish, but instead he watched him die. Foolish draws his trident, and Quackity asks if he would really take a life
Quackity: “I did it for you. I let you die because I wanted a better version of you.”
- He wanted Foolish to realize that this life as a builder would get him hurt, and he needs to go back to his old ways: feared, not a nobody
Foolish: “You threw away my life for some kind of fucking sales pitch!”
“Power...power...damn you, Qua -- what makes you think you’re any better, huh?! How’s that worked out for anyone else that’s been here? Dream? Wilbur? Schlatt? How’d that go, huh? What makes you any better, different, than them?”
- Quackity doesn’t need a sales pitch, his country is already big and other people would take the offer.
The reason he came to Foolish is because Quackity sees himself in Foolish: someone who once saw peace and betterment of people as the way to live. It brought him nothing but suffering, and Foolish has potential
The offer still stands.
-
Chapter Two.
-
An old-fashioned documentary plays about: the Slime!
Slimes are morphing elements that can morph into just about anything, even blocks. Is Dwane “The Rock” Johnson slime?
---
- Quackity glides down onto the roof of the restaurant in a ninja outfit and elytra, setting up redstone and TNT in the floor. There’s a bit of slime on the wall and he’s disgusted, running out. This is why he wants to kill the owner of this place
- He mines into the wall only for Charlie Slimecicle to pop out. Quackity knocks him out
- When Charlie wakes up, he’s stuck in a hole and Quackity is interrogating him, asking who he is. Charlie says he is a definitely “goobless guy” who has many bones.
Charle: “Dap me up!”
- As Charlie describes what happened, it becomes clear that Charlie has overheard all sorts of passing conversations and knows a lot. He knows too much, and Quackity has to kill him
- Quackity asks what else he knows. Charlie gets distracted by the snow, which Quackity teaches him is called “coke”
- Charlie saw Foolish, the purple guy, he knows of a green guy, a red-shirt blond guy, a dead-but-not-anymore-guy. Quackity asks about the dead guy, who Charlie describes as “sooty”
- Quackity realizes that Charlie is an accidental spy and tells Charlie this is just a friendly greeting, he can give Charlie a home. He coughs again and tells Charlie that a spy is a friend, and Charlie will be his spy as the two walk off together
-
Chapter Three.
-
---
ONE WEEK BEFORE THE RED BANQUET
---
A purple-tinged POV of a person walking down the path through the Community House as Quackity and Sam talk in the background.
It’s been so long, he might be dead in the woods somewhere, but Quackity insists that Purpled is perfect for their country. Sam doesn’t think he would ever join, doesn’t think he would ever affiliate with anyone.
What about a job?
The UFO is destroyed.
If Quackity offers him a one-time job, Purpled would take it. Once he has Purpled’s attention, Quackity can do something to reel him in to join the country.
Rowing to the skull base...
Sam says Purpled’s UFO is still there, but abandoned. He moved out along time ago. Quackity has a plan...
---
- Quackity and Sam are talking by Eret’s Museum. Sam is in charge of keeping an eye out for Purpled. Sam protests -- he’s the Warden and Quackity is breaking and entering, and he’s not supposed to break the law.
- Quackity has a stack of TNT. He climbs up the UFO and starts placing TNT everywhere inside
- Purpled logs on right in front of him and immediately starts attacking, but stops when Quackity threatens to light the TNT, explaining that this was the best way to get in contact with him
- Quackity tells him about how messed up the server is, that the Egg is still an issue, and he needs Purpled’s help.
- Purpled is in the middle of a mercenary job already, but Quackity will pay Purpled well. He has a new project getting him wealth, a prosperous country. To prove it, Quackity takes him there...
---
The Red Banquet happens. A fight breaks out, and they get the Eggpire to retreat.
---
- Quackity stands on top of the flower shop. He meets Purpled, dressed in his suit, and thanks him for his help with the Egg
- Purpled stops him to ask for his money. Quackity takes him up to the roof and shows him to a chest with the money in it. Purpled approves
- Quackity has something else for Purpled: he goes downstairs and flicks a lever, and Purpled’s UFO explodes
Quackity: “Purpled, your legacy is gone, and I’ve taken it from you. That’s the last piece of evidence that you were ever here, Purpled. That’s it. And you die a long with it. You die along with it -- YOU DIE ALONG WITH IT, PURPLED!”
- Purpled runs at Quackity, attacking him. Quackity stops him, saying he did it for him. Purpled has two choices: he can take Quackity’s life and run away with the money, and he disappears forever. Or, he could join Quackity.
- Quackity tells Purpled he has potential, why waste it away? If Purpled joins him, he can buy a whole fleet of UFOs to replace the one
- Quackity promises Purpled a plot of land in Las Nevadas
Quackity: “Take the gamble, Purpled...take the gamble, and you can change everything.”
- Silently, Purpled turns and walks away
-
Chapter Four.
-
- Fundy walks to his new house in the forest and goes to sleep. When he wakes up, he opens the door to find it’s a mesa biome. He’s upset and goes back inside, reassuring himself. When he opens the door again, he’s met with Quackity standing there
- Quackity invites him to a walk, saying Fundy was a hard person to find, but he found him
- Fundy asks what this place is, but Quackity says he should know it better than anyone. As they approach, the mesa is populated by bits and pieces of L’manburg. The wooden stilts of New L’manburg, fragments of the black walls, the Camarvan. Quackity reminisces with him
- Fundy isn’t sure that the drug equipment is necessarily “good memories,” but Quackity tells him no, everything is good memories
- As Quackity leads him towards an oversized, deteriorated version of Eret’s tower, he reminds Fundy of how L’manburg was blown up
- Quackity steps into the shadows
Quackity: “You know what, Fundy? Those memories don’t matter. None of that matters, Fundy. All these structures, all these things we built together...it’s here now, but it’s really gone, and none of it matters, nor will it ever matter...Fundy, if you think about it...you don’t matter. Along with all these structures and everything in ‘em, you’re gonna fade away just like it.”
- If Fundy doesn’t change things, he won’t matter, but Quackity has plans and he doesn’t have to fade away if he just joins Quackity
- Quackity gives him ten seconds to decide. He starts counting down...
- Fundy runs towards him into the darkness as Quackity reaches one and he wakes up suddenly in his bed
- He goes to his door and opens it. Outside is the regular spruce forest, and Quackity is there to greet him.
---
It’s the day Wilbur got a tour from Tommy. Wilbur walks over to his resurrection shrine and finds the “PROJECT NEVADAS” book, reading it.
---
Las Nevadas. Wilbur, revived, comes walking down the road.
He comes face to face with Quackity.
---
- Foolish stands on top of his temple, wondering...was Quackity right? Is he wasting his time here, accomplishing nothing? He isn’t really doing anything to work towards peace
- He stands in the beacon light. Can Quackity do better than everyone else that’s tried before him? Quackity wasn’t all wrong in what he said
- At the Banquet, when he did try to help, he wasn’t strong enough. He can’t even control his own area -- people just walk in and he can’t stop them. Does he need to try something else?
- Maybe there’s a balance between both ends of the spectrum. It wouldn’t hurt to go look, try something different
- He starts making the journey through the Nether, then past Spawn until he reaches Las Nevadas. Just to visit and look around
- Can he really trust someone who let him die?
- Foolish spots Quackity across the road and goes to speak with him. The casino is still going through some repairs, as they found some flaws with the “math” and want to make sure everything is fair
- Foolish asks what Quackity wants from him. Quackity tells him it’s up to him what he wants to do, and it wouldn’t be fair of Quackity to tell Foolish that until Foolish accepts the invitation
- Quackity tours Foolish around the place, showing off the various buildings, like a restaurant and an area for weddings. Quackity sleeps in the Needle. There’s also a strip club also undergoing repairs and a massive Eiffel Tower
- They swim in the pool and Quackity asks Foolish to tell him a bit more about himself. Foolish says he worked for Kinoko Kingdom and Snowchester, and Quackity wants him to elaborate a bit on Kinoko
- Quackity tells Foolish that Las Nevadas is “its own, independent nation” and that you can’t depend on anyone. Quackity wants to depend on only himself.
- Foolish asks about the people who might not like that it’s a nation. Quackity says he just doesn’t have a plan and he’ll deal with it when the time comes
- Quackity tells Foolish he’s welcome to bring others. Foolish notes that Quackity said he doesn’t like to “dwell,” and by coming here maybe Foolish can stop dwelling on the past as well
- Quackity tells Foolish that Foolish chooses who he wants to be. The last thing he wants with Foolish is bad blood
Quackity: “I take care of those who take care of me...why do you think I have no one around?”
- Foolish tells him he’ll have an answer tomorrow. Quackity gives him temporary tokens for the casino and says goodbye to go and sleep. Foolish thinks to himself in Las Nevadas
- That’s when Foolish spots Fundy on the road and the stream abruptly ends
- Ranboo is in his basement. He wants to move the lab equipment to the table area
- He has an experiment log book that he won’t show chat
- Ranboo reads the letter Foolish left for him about the littering at his summer home
- He has a plan for what experiments he wants to do. He’s changed his opinion on the Enderwalk, as it allows him to hear chat in the first place. He doesn’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing
- Ranboo reaches the stronghold portal room and starts lining the walls with iron blocks. He thinks that after today, he might be able to remember everything
- He creates a glass water tank in the corner and some brewing stands, as well as a lever-activated dispenser with arrows
- Ranboo hit a wall with the experiments and he wonders if this strange table might be the key to breaking through
- He realized something frightening:
Ranboo: “The Enderwalk isn’t a different version of me, it’s not a different me, it’s still...me. But, from what I gathered...it’s me with...all of my memories. Every. Single. One. And I realized that...so...I mean, who knows what could’ve happened? There could’ve been an entire other story that I’m not aware of.”
- Ranboo wonders if he wants to keep living in blissful ignorance or know everything that’s happened
- He opens the log:
---
[In Ender]
Purpose of experimentation:
To understand
To learn
To remember
---
To remember is one of the purposes. There are 43 pages, and one of them had the solution.
If it gets rid of it completely, he could lose all of what he didn’t know from before. It could either be good or unknown.
- He tells chat he tricked them. They weren’t just random experiments -- he was going to solve it, and he thought he needed chat with him.
He didn’t need a splash potion. He would use the arrow and go into the water tank, and that would be the solution.
- Ranboo goes back and blocks up the hall, deciding to only use it as a last resort if something happens.
Only if something happens.
He “welp” claps to end stream.

Tumblr media
Hospitals have always frightened you. They always smelled a little too much like cleaning supplies and for some odd reason they always had an underlying scent of sickness. Not that you could equate the smell of sickness to anything in particular-- but it just had that scent.
You can remember when your mother got her appendectomy and your dad told you to bring her doshirak while he went off to work, it scared the ever living hell out of you.
It's not that you were a hypochondriac or at least you didn't think you were. But now, as you stand beneath the large entrance to the VIP admittance area, your skin begins to crawl.
Maybe it’s the fear of entering the hospital and getting sick from others or maybe it’s the fact that you’ll be in a small space with the father of your child quite like that fateful night.
You hear a car quickly approaching behind you as you stare up at the gold trimmed sign of the entrance and you can practically feel him. You choose not to turn around, memories of your shopping trip still stuck in your mind like superglue.
Shopping with Yoongi was like a very failed, fucked up montage. You would try something on, come out of the dressing room and he would grimace and wave his hand while sipping champagne telling you to go put on something else.
Namjoon told you that he is a good person, and his life has been hard so being a dick is how he compensates. You want to believe him, but it’s just so hard.
“Little dove. Good morning,” you hear from behind you.
Angling your head to the voice, you take in his appearance. His black hair was combed back, a few odd hairs landing on his forehead. His eyes were fierce and piercing as always. And, his voice is as smooth as silk. For the first time, you notice two piercings on his left ear as he approaches. One is a small hoop made of diamonds and the other just a diamond stud. They look good on him, really fucking good.
“Hi.” you say, lifting your arm awkwardly to wave.
“You ready to see the Kisung heir?” he asks as he looks down at his Rolex.
Just the thought has a lump forming in your throat. Are you ready? This is all so fast and so fucked up.
“I think so,” you reply, earning half of a smirk from him.
“Let’s go up. We have other things to do today.” he tells you as he walks off to the entrance without you.
He makes you feel like such an intrusion. You really are a pauper in his lifestyle.
He holds the door open for you and you’re immediately hit with the smell that can only be akin to a hospital. It makes your stomach churn and suddenly you feel flush. Your skin prickles with heat, a thin layer of nervous sweat beginning to build up on your body.
Stopping at the entrance, you watch as nurses and doctors pass by without a second glance. The simple sight of scrubs and surgical caps is enough to have you leaning against the large potted plant that sits adjacent to the door.
Yoongi begins talking and the sound starts to drown out as you focus on the marble floor.
“Hey. Y/N.” you hear him call impatiently.
“Water,” you whisper softly as your vision begins to tunnel.
“Y/N?” he asks again, softer this time.
“I-I need water.”
Your mouth is going dry and it’s starting to become hard to swallow.
Your shaky hand reaches out for the lip of the planter beside you to hold you steady.
“Oh fuck!” Yoongi yelps out, he catches your arm as you begin to fall.
“Can I get some water over here?!” he calls to the receptionist and they’re quick to do his bidding.
“I-I’m sorry,” you feel your eyelids getting heavy as you speak.
“Just relax. Calm down. What is it? Is it the kid?” he asks softly in your ear as he hauls you up. Tugging your arm just enough, he’s able to slide his body behind yours. You can feel the hard plains of his abs through his crisp shirt as he molds your body to his.
A receptionist rushes over with the bottle of water and he cracks it open quickly before handing it to you.
“Let’s sit down for a second. Come on,” he whispers in your ear.
Your feet feel as heavy as bricks while he pulls you over to the seating area. Tying your hair up in a ponytail, you lean back into the plush couch with a sigh.
“Drink the water.” he commands, his voice is gruff but the tone is riddled with nervousness.
You sip the water slowly, the spots in your eyes beginning to diminish as he puts his hand on your knee.
“Look at me, just focus on my face,” he calls, tapping his index finger beneath your chin.
Slowly turning your head to him, you can see his eyebrows furrowing with nerves. He cards his fingers through his hair as his thumb rubs gentle strokes on your knee.
“Is it...morning sickness?” he sounds uncomfortable even saying it. You feel uncomfortable hearing it.
You shake your head to him and that seems to make him relax just a bit.
“I have an irrational fear of hospitals,” you reply as your heartbeat begins to slow down. He tilts his head curiously and he wonders to himself what you’ve been through to get a panic attack quite like this.
Was it something that’s happened to you in the past? You seem to be scared of almost anything.
Usually, Yoongi would be annoyed at the mention of anything irrational. But, he fights it for once. For once, maybe he should be honest too.
“I’m afraid of hospitals too,” he admits to you.
“Really?” you ask as you press your hand to your stomach, the feeling of nausea slowly settling away.
His eyes flicker to your hand and he swallows uncomfortably. He turns his head to the large painting on the wall, he traces the abstract lines and shapes on the canvas before nodding.
“Yeah. It always smells weird and the thought of getting even more sick makes me nervous,” he says.
“Me too.” you murmur hopelessly as you look down at his hand on your knee.
“But, this hospital is really good. My family owns it. It’s one of three that we own in Seoul. You’re safe here. I promise,” he swears as he turns his attention back to you.
It’s almost comforting to hear his words. Right now, in this moment, it’s almost difficult to remember how much of an asshole he is.
“When you’re ready, we’ll go up,” he says softly.
His eyes drift over others in the lobby. They’re all staring. His hand rubs uncomfortably at the back of his neck and you follow his gaze.
He shouldn’t be down here with you like this. He’s married. It hits you all in one second.
“Let’s go.” you tell him as you stand up on shaky legs.
“No, Y/N. Wait. Sit down and relax. It’s okay.” he calls to you, but you’re already off to the elevators.
He watches as you slam the button for the elevator, his hands slide over the knees of his pants before he’s standing up to follow you.
Maybe you weren’t a leech. Maybe you were just kind.
You hold the door open for him and he brushes past people without an apology before stepping into the elevator.
“You have a fear of elevators too?” he quips but his joke is brisk and it makes you scowl.
“No.” you murmur as he pushes the fifth floor button.
The silence is uncomfortable as the doors slide shut, the saxophone elevator music would be comical if your crippling embarrassment wasn’t beginning to swallow you whole. Now that your senses were returning to you, you just seized up as soon as you stepped inside the hospital.
You almost fell on the fucking floor like a flopping fish! How embarrassing!
Yoongi can practically sense your nervousness. He can see it in the way your knees knock together, and certainly how your hand grips the railing of the elevator. Your knuckles are practically white as you stare at the floor.
He should find a way to make you feel better, he thinks anyway.
“I like your dress. Looks not so homeless,” he says and he closes his eyes at how he sounds.
Maybe Maya is right, he needs to think before he speaks.
“Oh. Nice. Thanks.” you mutter as you pull at the fabric of the dress.
So much for trying.
“No. I mean-”
“I wear deliciously brown burlap sacks. I got it.” you retort as the doors open. He sighs to himself slightly as he watches you leave him alone in the elevator.
You walk off without him and he’s only a few steps behind but he feels as if he’s losing his ground.
Not only did he almost beat up Park Jimin at the mention of you, but now he’s starting to feel sorry for the things he says? Just what the hell is going on?
But, he can see a different personality almost peeking out of you every time he confronts you. It’s almost nice to see you being different then just nervous and scared.
“Oh! Mr. Min! Right on time, you can follow me!” a nurse calls to him from the reception desk.
“This is the VIP wing, only my family is taken care of up here,” he announces to you. You feel his hand press gently to your lower back and you pull away uncomfortably as you follow the nurse.
His hand feels too comfortable on your back for your liking.
The VIP room is gigantic, so far beyond what you originally had thought just a little while ago when you were downstairs.
The table with stirrups looks intimidating and uncomfortable.
“Just take off your underwear and the doctor will be right in,” the nurse says, her hand slides over Yoongi’s shoulder and you find yourself grimacing at how comfortable he is with it.
It’s like he doesn’t even register that to normal people, that would be uncomfortable.
“Thanks Mira.” he says as he folds his arms.
You watch the door shut and you shake your head in disbelief as he casually sits down in the chair beside the examination table.
“You fuck her too?” you ask him as he pulls out his phone.
“Just once. She wasn't into what I'm into,” he replies calmly and you roll your eyes.
Looking around for somewhere shielded to take off your underwear, his eyebrow quips up.
“I have seen all of you before, y’know. You can just take off your panties and give them to me,” he gives you a big smile as he holds his hand out and you scowl at the notion.
“Asshole.” you whisper, earning a chuckle from him as you walk into the bathroom.
Taking off your underwear, you stare at yourself in the mirror. This was just an out of body experience at this point. You were so far beyond the point of anything making sense. Your life has quite literally changed in a matter of weeks and today you’d be moving into a completely different home. You’d be seeing your child that was a surprise. Everything was moving so fast and it’s so terrifying.
You put your underwear in your purse, one that Yoongi has actually bought you instead of having to borrow Leenas.
Yoongi hasn’t moved an inch as he looks up from his phone, “Your room is ready. The kid’s too. Looks good.” He says as you walk over to the table.
You can only wonder what it looks like, did he buy cheaper things because he feels like that’s all you deserve? Or did he buy expensive furniture to really sell just how much money he actually has?
“I didn’t buy the kid furniture though. Thought you might want to do that. Maya said women go through something called nesting? Sounds like a bird,” he says as he looks back down at his phone.
He sounds really fond of Maya. You wonder what she must be like for him, the king of assholes, to be fond of her.
“Sounds fun!” you reply earnestly as you hop up on the table.
“Fun?”
You hum in agreement as you pull the dress down lower to your knees. “I think picking out furniture and stuff is fun. Leena let me pick out all of the furniture for the penthouse apartment. I like doing that stuff.”
He nods, his lips puffing out like he’s almost impressed before the door opens.
The white lab coat the doctor wears is almost enough to send you into a spiral once more but before your breathing can even hitch you hear the father of your child. “Drink your water. Now.” he calls to you.
He doesn't know where it came from but all he knew was that the water helped before and you should feel better with it. He seemed to get protective of you in that mere second.
“Min Yoongi. A pleasure,” the doctor says as they shake hands.
You practically chug the water, the cooling liquid seems to bring you a sense of peace as he approaches you.
“Y/N, I’m assuming. It’s so nice to meet you,” you shake his hand and out of the corner of your eye you watch Yoongi stand tall before taking his place beside you.
“Hold my hand,” he instructs briskly and you grimace at the thought. He rolls his eyes as he grasps your wrist before placing your hand in his.
You notice just how sweaty his hand is… or is it your hand that’s sweating? There’s moisture, for sure.
“Are you ready to see the Kisung heir? This must be exciting!” the doctor says as he sits down on the rolling stool before you.
Swallowing thickly, you give a small nod. Now, the nerves are really getting to you. Yoongi squeezes your hand tighter before looking down at his phone like this isn’t important to him. Or as if he was trying to avoid it.
“Okay, how are you feeling, Y/N? Any nausea? Tiredness?” the doctor asks as he puts on gloves.
“I’ve been really tired lately. Not so much nausea,” the doctor nods as he sets up the ultrasound equipment.
“Any breast tenderness? Are you in pain?” the question peaks Yoongi’s curiosity and he looks up from his phone to look at you as you nod.
“Yeah, they’re really painful,” you reply softly, almost embarrassed at the questions.
He had no idea. You hadn’t said anything about pain.
“That’s normal. Abdominal pain too? Getting mildly bad cramps?” you nod again and the father of your child blanches.
Jesus, you don’t make it seem like you’re going through a rough time. You really may just be stronger than you look.
Maybe this is what Maya meant about you going through a difficult time.
“So, the things you want to look out for are lightheadedness, cramps, very little vaginal bleeding, breast changes, food aversions, mood swings, and increased vaginal discharge,” you nod studiously as he grasps what looks like a wand in hand.
“You got all that, dad?” Yoongi’s eyes widen and he points to himself in confusion.
“Who? Me?” he asks aloud and you hide your smirk behind your hand as the doctor nods.
“Yeah, you. You got her into this mess, right?” yhe doctor jokes as he rolls a condom onto the end of the wand.
Yoongi scoffs gently. “Well it takes two to tango.” he mumbles to himself uncomfortably.
Your giggle makes him instantly relax. This isn’t the first time this has happened and it’s beginning to really freak him the fuck out. Sometimes, the things you do calm him so easily, set him into such a state of peace. It’s terrifying.
“This may be uncomfortable for you. I’m going to insert this and we’ll be able to see your baby,” the doctor says to you.
With a nod, you look at the black screen of the ultrasound machine. Yoongi buries his face farther into his phone at the mention of seeing his kid.
But, he’s pulled out almost instantaneously as you squeak out uncomfortably as the wand invades you. Your hand grips tighter in his and his eyes are on you in a second.
“You’re alright. Don’t worry,” he doesn’t know where the kind words came from but he doesn’t take them back.
The screen begins to shift to dark greys and whites, earning Yoongi’s attention.
“We may be able to hear a heartbeat, we’ll find out.” the doctor says happily.
You wriggle uncomfortably as the wand continues to invade you. Squeezing your hand a few times to try and set you right, Yoongi stares at the screen with a raised eyebrow.
“There!” the doctor says loudly and you both jump with nervousness as you see the small blip on the screen.
It’s so small.
You feel your throat clenching uncomfortably and you close your eyes for a second to make sure this is real.
For Yoongi, he feels his heart begin to beat faster. He can practically hear it in his ears as he squeezes your hand tighter.
This was his kid. He fucking made this. He has to become a parent to this small little thing.
“Oh my God.” he mumbles to himself, but in the large silent room you can hear him so clearly.
“Let’s see if we can hear the heartbeat,” the doctor says before pushing a button on the machine.
The sound is voraciously loud in your ears. The heartbeat is strong and unwavering. It makes you smile. Although this isn’t what you had planned, it feels good to see your child.
Yoongi lets go of your hand quickly, as if you had burnt him. He pockets his phone and his hands before looking down at the ground uncomfortably.
“What do you think, dad?” the doctor asks him happily.
What the fuck does he think? That this is terrifying. That he made a child he has to take care of. He thinks that he’s not ready, at all!
But, it’s his child. That heartbeat -- he made that. He created something so small and so perfect.
His eyes begin to burn uncomfortably, as if he’s about to cry and he makes his way back to the seat before plopping down and taking in a deep breath.
“I think it looks like some sort of weird worm,” he replies to the doctor.
Snorting gently, you tilt your head at the screen.
“Like a sesame gremlin,” you say.
Just your words make him chuckle and he looks down at his shoes before closing his eyes once more.
“So the baby’s heartbeat is really strong which is great! From the size, it’s about five weeks and three days old. Everything looks great, but you’ll be coming back once a month to make sure things aren’t changing or getting out of hand. We’ll take a blood test now to see how your levels are but other than that, things look really good over here. Congratulations.”
That was the first time either of you have been congratulated on the news.
Yoongi can feel himself filling with something akin to pride.
It almost makes him respect you more. You’re carrying his child.
Looking over at you, he feels as if he’s never actually looked at you before. He’s always known how beautiful you are. But now something feels different. It feels explosive. Like something cosmic was coming into being.
“I’m going to give you some prenatal vitamins for you to take, no smoking, no drinking, no raw fish, no hot tubs or saunas, you should eat really well, drink a lot of water and make sure you just take it easy,” the doctor says as he pulls the wand from you.
You can feel a weight lifting off of you as you look at your child. You certainly aren’t ready. You would never begin to call yourself ready but just seeing the child within you makes you hopeful.
“That’s it?” Yoongi asks the doctor, ripping his gaze away from you.
“That’s it! We’ll take the blood in another room near the elevator before you leave. I’ll get Mira to take her blood,” the doctor takes off his gloves and throws them in the garbage before clapping his hands finitely.
He helps you down from the examination table and you excuse yourself to the restroom suddenly feeling the urge to pee.
While he waits, Yoongi can’t stop staring at the screen. While the heartbeat isn’t loud in his ears any longer, the image of his child is still staring him dead in the face.
“Do you print those pictures?” he asks softly, looking over at the closed bathroom door.
“I can if you want me to.” the doctor replies as he sanitizes the examination table.
Yoongi nods at the thought. “Yeah. Can you print two sets?”
Waiting for the elevator, you squeeze your arm tightly trying to stop the blood flow from when Mira took your blood. She was eyeing Yoongi the whole time like a five star meal and it only got more uncomfortable as the minutes ticked on.
“Here.” the CEO says as he hands you a white envelope.
You look down at the package before tilting your head as you both get on to the elevator.
“What is it?” you ask as you open it up.
“The kid’s pictures. Thought you would want some of our sesame gremlin.” his voice sounds distant but you begin to smile at the small black and white photos before you.
“Did you get some for yourself?” you ask happily as you put the pictures in your purse.
He hits the button for the ground floor before leaning back against the railing of the elevator as it descends.
“Why would I need pictures of a five week old kid?” he retorts.
You shrug with a smirk before looking down into your purse and staring at the pictures.
His hand brushes the pocket of his suit pants, feeling his wallet that secretly holds the picture of your child.
Tumblr media
The drive to Yoongi’s mansion sends butterflies fluttering around in your gut. This is like going to a new school in the middle of the year and being awkward and uncomfortable. The silence in the Rolls Royce apart from the random gusts of wind that come through the window don’t help either.
Yoongi is completely comfortable, his legs are outstretched as he scrolls through his phone. You wonder if there’s ever a time where he doesn’t look like he stepped right out of Time magazine.
“Oh, here.” he says as he pulls out a credit card before handing it to you.
You hold the black card in your hand for a second, the weight is as light as paper but just the notion feels heavy.
You throw the card into your purse without a second thought and you miss how Yoongi smirks at your actions.
“You’ll also have a driver. I picked out Minho. But, if you don’t like him then I can get someone else.” his voice is flippant. He’s probably used to firing a bunch of people without wondering about their home life and how much they need their jobs.
The car pulls up to the gated community which Yoongi lives in. Now, you too.
“Welcome to my home. Well...our home.” He says as the car drives past a large fountain that is spurting water on all sides.
You take in a bunch of large mansions as the car drives down the large stretch of road that is lined by pretty cherry blossom trees. Everything about this is so picturesque. You can imagine just how gorgeous his house must be.
“Wow!” your voice is above a whisper as you look off into the distance. You can see a few people riding horses in the far off distance.
“Namjoon’s wife loves horses. She breeds them for contests.” Yoongi states as he follows your gaze.
Leena has told you so much about high profile life, but actually being here surrounded by what feels like billions of dollars is jarring. It’s almost difficult to put into words.
Every stone, every tree, even the flowers seem like they’re perfectly placed as you continue to drive.
“Don’t go into Sera’s wing please. I don’t want to hear her bitch,” he grumbles as he puts his fist beneath his chin.
You give a small nod to him understanding before looking ahead as his mansion comes into view.
“You got knocked up by the right person, huh?” he chuckles as your mouth opens slightly at the sight.
The face of the house is enough to make someone weep, it’s all marble with black quarts trimming and large perfectly clean windows. Each piece of marble is perfectly cut and precise. It’s almost too beautiful to look at.
“I had an architect from Greece come out and build my home. I used to live in it alone until y’know, the demon came.” he says as the car drives around the large marble fountain in front.
“Jeez.” you whisper as he gets out of the car first.
You follow behind him not knowing where to look and wanting to look at all of it. The house spreads out wide and surrounding it are gorgeously cut hedges and tall growing flowers that look perfectly taken care of.
“So. The first two wings on the bottom floor are the gallery. Don’t fucking touch anything. There’s millions of dollars in paintings and statues.” Yoongi says as he steps up the black quartz stairs.
There’s even a man at the front to open up the double doors for him. Which is ridiculously posh and so completely out of your element. Your eyes gaze upward taking the whole house in and you swallow at the sight.
“Little dove, I really don’t have all day. Get your pert ass inside.” Yoongi calls to you as he enters without you.
You follow behind him clumsily, thanking the doorman who gives you a smile in return.
Stepping into the entryway, you can all but marvel at how gorgeous everything is. You do not belong here.
“It’s like a museum,” you whisper and you jump at how loud your voice is in the quiet area.
“Whenever I go out of the country, I like to pick up art or a statue. They’re collectors pieces. Do not fucking touch anything.” he warns you.
Nodding quickly, you look down the large stretch of the front wings before following him as he continues into the house.
You'll definitely have to look at all of the beautiful art later.
His hands clasp behind his back and you grip tighter onto your purse afraid to touch anything.
None of this looks real, it’s so grandiose and so amazing that it feels like you’ve stepped into a movie.
“Both of these staircases lead up to either wing. Our wing is the right one.”
Walking past the staircases, you spot a sitting room filled with luxurious black furniture and so many throw pillows you have no idea how anyone would sit on them. They seem like they’ve never been touched before. A bar lines the wall behind it and your eyes widen at how fancy it looks. Mirrors line the back of the bar and the dark oak trimming really brings the room together.
“We don’t sit down here in the sitting room. It’s more for show. Doesn’t mean you can’t, it’s your house now too. But, you have your own living room upstairs in your room.” Yoongi says and you turn to him slowly as he leans against a carved marble pillar.
“I have a living room in my bedroom?” you ask softly to which he grins.
“Yeah. Doesn’t everyone?” he quips with a chuckle.
You blanch at the thought before rolling your eyes as he winks at you.
“Come.” he commands as he pushes off the pillar.
“Holy shit.” you mumble as you walk further into the house.
The kitchen is fully open, with two marble islands and top of the range equipment that make you gasp. There’s a long bar lined with chairs that barricades the kitchen from you so you can eat and it makes you blink rapidly at the sight. You can see people working in it, keeping the place tidy and at the mere sight of Yoongi they bow deeply before returning back to work.
“We have a chef from five in the morning to twelve at night.” Yoongi tells you as he leans against the long bar.
The chandeliers that line the place are absolutely beautiful and yet again, you have no idea where to look.
“This is the dining room, where we don’t eat because it’s for parties and I don’t host parties. The leech does.” Yoongi says as he slides open two cherry wood doors beside the kitchen. The table is long and beautiful bouquets of flowers line the cherry wood top.
“Jesus Christ.” you whisper as you clutch the purse tighter to your body.
He closes up the doors before putting his hand on your lower back and pushing you past the kitchen.
“This door right here leads to the maid’s quarters. You don’t have any reason to go there.”
You nod to him as a maid opens up the door before bowing to you both and heading towards the kitchen.
“This is the library slash poker room. Thursday nights are for poker. It’s one of my hobbies.” he says as he grips the gold handles before shoving open the doors.
You’ve always loved reading, maybe in here you can find some good books and take them to your bedroom to read.
“Do you like reading?” he asks softly as you step inside.
“I love reading!” you reply as your fingers graze the marble bookshelves that line the walls from top to bottom.
You then realize how rude it was of you to just barge in and start touching stuff. “Sorry.” you murmur as Yoongi walks over to the bar caddy.
He pours himself a glass of whisky before shaking his head at you.
“This is your home now too. You don’t have to be scared, little dove.” he says above the lip of his glass before downing the contents in one burning go.
Your eyes spot a few books that look interesting and you make a mental note to check them out later when you’re settled in.
“Past this room is the game room. There’s a pool table and some old fashioned pinball machines. Stuff for decoration mostly.”
It brings up a question that just bursts free from you.
“So you’re exorbitantly rich, you have all of these cool things inside of your home and you never use any of them?” you ask as he closes the library doors behind you.
“Well in order to be exorbitantly rich, you need to work hard. I don’t have time to just sit on my ass and play Pac Man all damn day, little dove.” he whispers in your ear. You blush at how insensitive it must have sounded.
“Through those glass doors is the indoor pool. It’s heated but not too hot for the baby,” he tells you as a maid opens the doors for you both.
He comes to realize that was the first time he hasn’t called your child ‘kid’ or ‘thing’ around you.
Maybe seeing the small sesame gremlin on the screen really did do something to him.
“Wow. This is amazing Yoongi. Your parents must be so proud of you.” you say as you walk along the heated floor of the pool. He chuckles to himself as you look at the marble recliners that are for relaxing on the side.
“Parents.” he snort at the notion.
He tilts his head cryptically as you look out the glass walls of the room. It’s almost as if you’re in a snow globe. Every wall is glass, there’s some stained glass pieces that fleck the floor with pretty colors as the sun comes out from behind a cloud.
“Shall we go up to our win-” his voice is cut off by screaming in the distance and you jump at the screeching noise.
“That’s the leech. She probably lost a follower on Instagram.” he says as his hand wraps around your arm before tugging you toward the noise.
While you haven’t been fully versed in just how evil Sera is, you’re positively nervous to see her. Leena told you to look her up on the Internet but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. You were too frightened for what you would find.
“Sir!” the voice is absolutely elated and so sweet sounding that it puts a small smile on your face.
Yoongi positively lights up as an older woman approaches the both of you from the maid’s quarters. Her hair is in a neat bun and her clothes are wrinkle free. She seems a bit older and has a tan to her skin as if she’s been out in the sun working.
“Y/N. This is Maya. Head maid.” you shake her hand happily as Yoongi begins to smile.
“It’s so nice to meet you! I've heard amazing things about you!” you say happily as she puts her hands on her hips.
“Well! Aren’t you just absolutely gorgeous! Welcome to the home Madam, I’m so happy to be of service to you!” Her words are so kind and she’s so sweet but it’s the intent of the words that make you feel uncomfortable.
“Oh, Maya. No. You can call me Y/N. You don’t have to treat me like Yo-”
“Nonsense! You’re a big part of the home just as much as the other two that live here! Don’t be silly!” you hum uncomfortably as Yoongi snorts.
“Please be as kind to Maya as you possibly can. She’s an angel.”
This is the first time that you’ve heard him speak so kindly about someone. It’s heartwarming, if you’re being honest.
“Let me take your purse.” Maya says softly, noticing how you clutch onto it for comfort.
“Oh no. It’s okay.”
“Give her the purse, little dove.” Yoongi retorts before snapping his fingers as you pass the kitchen.
“Yes, Sir?” a woman in the kitchen asks as he stops short.
“What do you like? Strawberry? Lemon?” he asks as he leans into the long marble bar.
“Both.” you reply curiously.
“Strawberry lemon sparkling water. And a vintage whisky. Now.” he calls out before turning back to you and Maya.
“Show Maya the pictures.” he says as his whisky is handed to him.
He must love her a lot. His demeanor seems to change when she’s around like no other.
Digging into your purse, you pull out the black and white pictures of your baby before handing them to her.
“Oh my goodness! Look at this! How amazing! With such a handsome father and a beautiful mother, your baby is going to be absolutely breathtaking!” Maya says and her voice seems to choke up as she stares at the picture. She turns thoughtful as her thumb swipes slowly over the picture in hand.
“I raised Yoongi from when he was very little, y’know.” Maya says proudly as she hands you back the pictures.
That’s news to you.
“Okay, Maya.” Yoongi mumbles uncomfortably.
“You did a great job,” you compliment her and her smile is megawatt as she rubs your arm comfortingly with her hand.
Yoongi smirks above the rim of his glass before tilting his head. Maybe you two would get along, you’re kind enough and Maya certainly is. Maybe there won’t be so much toxicity around the mansion anymore.
“Do you like to cook?” you ask her gently as Yoongi pulls the seat out of the bar for you to sit.
“I love cooking! Although Frederic is in the kitchen seven days a week, I hardly get to use it.” Maya says as she fixes Yoongi’s tie.
You watch how well she takes care of him, how she babies him and how he doesn’t move or feel uncomfortable at the notion. It’s like watching a rabid dog be kind only to his owner.
“Maybe soon, we can get in the kitchen together. I love cooking too. Give Frederic the night off.” you offer with a smile.
The smile lines by her eyes crease in delight at your suggestion. “That would be a lot of fun. I’d love that.”
“I would get a night off? That sounds amazing to me.” you hear a heavy French accent behind you and you turn to the chef as he hands you your water. He winks at you with a smile and you return it before sipping your water.
“Wow!” you whisper at the taste.
“Everything is better in the higher class.” Yoongi whispers.
“MAYA!” You hear scream throughout the mansion and you cringe at the sharp noise.
Jesus, she is loud.
Everyone in this house is so nice and kind. Even if you feel uncomfortable living here, the people may make up for it.
“Yes, Madam?” Maya calls sweetly as her thin frame peeks down from the second floor.
Even from far away Sera is blindingly beautiful. Her cheekbones are high and filled perfectly, her lips are the perfect pout and her eyes are big and doe-like. She’s absolutely stunning.
“Didn’t I fucking tell you to put a different fabric softener in the laundry? I don’t like my clothes smelling like a fucking flower field!” She barks out as she throws something off of the marble balcony onto the floor.
“I’m sorry, Madam. I must have forgotten. I won’t forget again.” Maya promises as she scurries over to the dropped shirt.
It’s almost a sin to watch the sweet woman fumble over herself to please her. While she may be beautiful, she’s a bitch. And, you’d hate to be confronted by her by any means.
“Bitch.” you and Yoongi mumble at the same time. He chuckles to himself as her gaze lands on you and you find yourself wanting to cower but the way Maya shifts nervously makes you angry. Really fucking angry.
“What the fuck is that? A new maid? Or a dig ditcher?” Sera barks out as she points her perfectly manicured finger at you.
Yoongi opens his mouth to speak but you beat him to it. “I’m Y/N. The mother of Yoongi’s child.” you call to her.
Her face begins to flush pink before she’s scoffing. “Should have picked someone prettier Yoongi, ugly women make ugly kids!” she calls down to him as she retreats back to her wing.
“Ugly personalities make ugly people.” you retort softly, bringing your glass of water to your lips.
The father of your child chuckles softly beside you and your heart warms at the noise.
“That’s the leech. I’m sure you’re thrilled to have met her.” you hum playfully in agreement before hopping off the bar stool.
The only thing in Yoongi’s mind is just how right this all feels. How perfect you are as a person, to each and every person you see. You’re strong willed and stronger than he previously thought but he likes it. And, he wants to see you come out of your shell here. He wants to see you thrive like a flower.
Maybe he should ease up on being so downright negative around you.
“Let’s do the rest of the tour and then you can relax. Alright?” he asks as he guides you to the staircase.
“Madam!” Maya calls to you and you don’t register the word for a second before turning to her with a smile.
“I’m really happy you’re here.” Maya says sweetly and you giggle as she bows to you.
“Me too, Maya. Thank you for being so welcoming!” you reply happily as you ascend the steps with the CEO.
“One half is mine, the other half is yours. My side is the right side and yours is, well obviously, the left.” Yoongi says as his hand drifts over the black quartz wall.
At the end of the long wing, you can spot rushing waterfalls that come out of the walls and into the floor, the sound is comforting as you get closer.
“So the third floor of the mansion is for my hobbies in particular and my home office. I rarely use my home office but it’s up there if you ever need me and I work from home.” Hobbies? What kind of hobbies does he have?
“Taehyung told me that you like painting? Apparently Leena talks a lot about you in her post coital glow-” you laugh at his words as he swings the first door open, “- So I got you some painting supplies and turned this room into a studio for you. It’s really bright so you can work well.”
It’s so thoughtful. The studio is beautiful, canvases of all sizes line the walls and the amount of paints and brushes are almost too good to be true.
“Thank you, Yoongi. That’s so kind of you.” you say as you step into the room.
Your fingers gently graze over the fluffy heads of the brushes before turning to him in the doorway and smiling.
“I do love to paint.” you say happily as he leans against the door jamb with folded arms.
“I just won’t paint anything orange.” he rolls his eyes with a snort at your comment before pushing off of the doorway and moving on to the next room.
“This is your closet. I had all of your clothes moved in here, even the ones you insisted on bringing here. I’m a giver.”
You roll your eyes at how degrading he is and you don’t even open the doors to your closet as you walk past.
You don’t care about materialistic objects like clothes or bags. You think the mansion is gorgeous but it’s just all materialistic stuff! It shouldn’t mean that much to someone.
“This is the nursery. It’s pretty empty still. Maya thought it would be a good idea to put in the rocking chair she used with me so...that’s in there.”
The admission makes your eyebrows raise. She must have taken care of him from when he was so small. Maybe Maya is like his mother, that’s why he loves her so much.
“Then this room is your room,” he continues on, not wanting to stand in the nursery for longer than two minutes. Just looking into the room reminds him of the pictures that sit heavily in his wallet.
When you open the doors to your room, the wind is almost knocked out of you. This is not a room. This is a fucking house. A small living room and a television situate themselves before your eyes and you walk around the thin marble wall that shields your bedroom from view.
You have a balcony, sitting chairs, a fucking vanity and the bed is so gigantic it can probably hold four people comfortably with room to spare.
Even the sight of the en suite bathroom is enough to knock you on your ass.
“Jesus Christ. This is... Wow.” you say breathlessly as you sit down on your bed.
“Now do the finer objects in life hold weight?” Yoongi jokes as he sits down in the armchair by the balcony.
“Not everything is about money, Yoongi.” you retort as your hand skims over the plush black comforter.
“No. Not everything. But, it’s still nice.” he says as he lifts his whisky glass to his lips.
“There’s a television in the bench at the end of the bed.” he whispers loudly across the room to you.
“A...television in a bench?” you mutter pulling your legs off of the bench and onto the bed.
“Mmmhmmm.” he drolls with a chuckle.
You’re so absolutely stunned at all of this. This is where you live now. This is your home.
He can tell just how starry eyed you are by all of this. It must be overwhelming to be thrust into such money from out of nowhere.
“I’ll leave you to it then.” he says as he slaps his knee. Your mouth opens and your hand raises to wave goodbye but he doesn’t look back at you.
You look around your room once more taking in all of the new gadgets and toys before throwing yourself back on your bed. Your hair fans out around your head as you stare up at the silver chandelier above you.
“Jesus Christ.” You mumble before turning and pressing your face into a pillow.

ahhh thank you so much for the happy mark gifset, those gifs made my day! 🥺🤍 btw i was wondering what your favorite episode is so far 👀 i feel like every episode is so charming in its own way but ep 7 definitely holds a special place in my heart 🥺 all i want to do these days is just scream about love mechanics tbh 😭 i'm in love with their chemistry and icb we have to say bye to them this weekend (well i'm sure some have already watched the finale though) but i'm gonna miss them so much :(
ahh anon don't make me choose 🥺🥺🥺 i've literally been thinking about this ask for days trying to figure out my favourite episode because I love each one for different reasons?
like i adore the first three episodes because god the tension between them is so good.... but then I love all the little moments in episodes four to six, where we see them figuring out how they'll fit into each others lives as a couple? and then seven. yeah. the honeymoon. the angst.
anyway i've narrowed it down to three haha:
episode four: all i can say is the study montage was only thirty seconds long but showed us exactly how much fun they have together and why they work as a couple and i love it with my whole heart 🥺💖 I mean, I loved the series before episode four but after it I was all in.
episode seven: the honeymoon followed by just the best angst 😭💔 I was pretty anxious going into this episode but they delivered. it was so messy, but somehow they made all the characters sympathetic? I felt for vee and understood how he got into that mess, but I also understood why mark decided enough was enough, and needed to protect himself. it was perfect.
episode ten: for reasons i cannot say yet 💞🌈

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Episode Titles Analysis
Now that the episode titles for season 3 have dropped, I’ve spent the last few days wondering and theorizing just what they could mean. Most of what I’ve gotten so far rests on symbolism, headcanons, potential theories and a lot of googling, but we all need some way of staying sane until season three drops, right?
Now this is just what I’ve come up with so far, I could be massively wrong in all of these, but these are just my predictions based on what I know of the characters and plot so far, previous ways of naming episodes and the very little I know of the comics.
Meet The Family
Tumblr media
Now this one is very self-explanatory and we’ll most likely get to know our birdies very well in this episode. We’ll probably be seeing a flashback to the Sparrows as children fighting crime - maybe already being better at it than their Umbrella counterparts were when they first started.
I’m hoping that we’’ll see another montage of introducing the siblings as adults like we saw in season one with our Umbrellas - which had been so helpful to me at the time as I had started watching the show about a week before season two dropped. I had known absolutely nothing about the show when I started, I had only clicked on it because Robert Sheeran was in the card as Klaus with his pink umbrella and I thought he was pretty. I became a massive fan all because I had thought Robert was pretty and I was bored.
So yeah, I loved the initial introduction montage of the siblings as it helped me figure out who was who quickly without wasting time. And I think that doing something similar for the Sparrows will also help give a better and quicker insight into their personalities and how they work when we see them in episode one.
The World’s Biggest Ball of Twine
Tumblr media
If you google ‘ball of twine’ it does mention that this is an archetype for an odd roadside attraction. Now if we’re going literal here, there are plenty of such attractions in the States, including one of just this in Texas, where our dysfunctional family had been last season. Maybe an indication of a road trip or even them fleeing the Sparrows and New York in order to regroup and figure out their next step without the birds circling in?
Ball of twine can also mean wrapping really strongly around something, especially as the material mentioned is usually very strong and durable. A ball of wool isn’t the episode title after all. Now this could mean maybe a family or an emotional issue that is massively at play here. Or more likely, the Umbrella’s and more specifically Five, are trying to figure out their exact steps and actions in the 60′s and just how badly they changed the past and future, both in the general sense of the world and for their own personal lives.
Ball of Twine can also mean wrapping around something tightly, so maybe a trap is being put in place or enacted. Either for the Umbrellas by the Sparrows, or the Umbrellas are trying to lure their counterparts into a trap to regain the upper hand.
Pocket Full of Lightning
Tumblr media
Now the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this title is something like this being described or mentioned regarding a character and their abilities. Now the characters that come to mind immediately when referenced to this are either Vanya or Christopher. Or maybe it may have something to do with a team-up, more than likely the Sparrows and what can happen when they team-up and combine their powers.
But lightning also has a lot of symbolism in many different societies and periods and in all honesty, I feel like I have to mention this. Symbolism includes but isn’t limited to: illumination, destruction, punishment, inspiration and revelations. Lightning is also highly associated with the King of the Greek Gods Zeus. Maybe Marcus or Reginald?
Marcus is after all described as a natural leader after all, gaining perhaps a Zeus like image in the public eye?
Whereas Reginald on the other hand would definitely see himself as being as King and acts like it at times, using his children as his soldiers to advance his agendas. Zeus isn’t a very kind or forgiving God either so unlike Marcus maybe this has something to do with the Hargreeves patriarch?
Kugeblitz
Tumblr media
Thank you Tumblr for having already given me the definition for this episode title when I had first found out the episode titles so I know that it means a black hole formed from radiation.
Luther and Five when I think of this title in terms of its definition a kugeblitz has me thinking of both space and science, as both topics are highly associated with these characters. Black holes have ties to space which Five who’s powers are teleportation and Luther who spent four years up in space both have ties to a title like this.
But of course we can’t forget the actual alien in the family Reginald Hargreeves. A black hole could be a reference as to what happened to his original planet, or maybe signalling a potential threat later on in the season. Will it cause another apocalypse or a warning for an alien invasion perhaps?
But it also might have links to a well known Umbrella Academy villain, Dr Terminal. I haven’t read the comics so I will admit to a lack of knowledge on this villain although I will Google him later. But as the season will be focusing on the Sparrow Academy and potentially any previous villains, Dr Terminal seems to be the most well known in the fandom and thus the most likely to make an appearance, whether in flashbacks or in person. A few people here seem convinced that this episode title will have something to do with him in some form.
Kindest Cut
Tumblr media
When I think of this episode title, my first thought goes of course, to Diego. People can often get cut with knives and they are of course Diego’s preferred weapon of choice.
Maybe however they are referring to another powered sibling and what harm their abilities can cause. Top contenders after Diego of course, are Vanya whose power we know can cut after seeing what she did to Allison at the end of ‘The Day that Was’ in a moment of anger.
But if we go with the Sparrows then Alphonso is at the top of my list. His character sheet is mentioned as him bearing the scars from his years of crime-fighting. His power is assumed to be the voodoo from the comics and if he can transfer the injuries he obtains or inflicts on himself to others, this may be what this title means.
But, and this theory I think is the one that I’m most obsessed with right now, is that the episode title could be an adaptation of the saying ‘unkindest cut’. The definition for this is ‘a cruel or devastating injury or insult inflicted on you by a supposed friend’.
If we go by current timeline we’re in then my money is that Five may be joining the Sparrows either under duress or having worked out an agreement with Reginald that his siblings would be spared if he did. Only his family might not be aware of what Five has planned and agreed to and would only see the apparent betrayal of what they have all gone through together as a family. Of only seeing their brother join the team that probably want them dead.
But this betrayal may also be coming from the Sparrows and Sloane perhaps. Sloane is an inverse of Five in a sense in that while Five is driven by his desire to save his family, Sloane often feels like hers are holding her back from experiencing her dream of leaving. Maybe she betrays the Sparrows in some way by letting an opportunity to capture the Umbrellas flee or seeking them out as allies.
Marigold
Tumblr media
According to what I can glean from the comics, marigold refers to the balls of light that eventually became the 43 super-powered children. So could we be getting an explanation as to how these supers came to be and why?
But like with episode three’s episode title, I can’t not mention the symbolism connected to this title. Marigolds often have conflicting symbolism today. In modern western society their bright colours often have them being associated with the sun and positive emotions and energy such as happiness, optimism and good luck. Not what I think the episode will be about.
But on the darker side of things, which is something that I do think has more ties into what to expect, is that they also refer to jealousy, grief, despair, mourning and cruelty. It is a flower associated with death and the Day of the Dead in Mexico and is said to offer protection from evil spirits. This connection with death is what I first thought of when I saw the episode title and the most obvious character associated with Death is none other than our ghost-boy Klaus Hargreeves.
Klaus as a character has a lot of ties to death naturally and I did see a post on here describing how Klaus will be entering the fourth stage of grief which is depression for both Ben and Dave during season three. This makes sense as they are now both gone in a way that not even his powers can reverse nor can he summon their spirits. Marigolds can often symbolize a despaired love and strong passion as well as well as pain and grief, so it could be a reference to Klaus’ depression over permanently losing both his closest brother and his love. But the main reason I do think that this episode does tie in heavily with Klaus is that it’s a mid season episode and so far that’s usually when Klaus undergoes most of his development. Maybe it’ll continue that way in season three.
Of course if Marigold will also represent a despaired love there are other options in the Umbrellas other than Klaus and Dave: Diego with both Eudora Patch (who is possibly still alive in this timeline) and Lila Pitts still bouncing around the timeline. Allison dealing with leaving her 60′s husband Raymond Chestnut and maybe trying to track down her ex Patrick to find out what happened to daughter Claire in this timeline and Vanya with love Sissy Cooper. Or maybe even Five and Dolores or possibly a love interest for Luther could be a reference to this title.
Explaining how the Umbrella and Sparrows came to be wouldn’t take the whole episode giving us time for some potential (doomed) love.
Auf Wierdershen
Tumblr media
This is very likely to be a Klaus focused episode, even if Marigold isn’t.
The episode title is German for goodbye and Klaus is the character most associated with Germany. Klaus is the only character to have spoken German during the shows events so far and his name is of German origin (interestingly enough, all of the male Sparrows bar Ben, have their names tied to Germanic origin. Meanwhile, Fei’s name is of Chinese origin, Jayme has both Spanish and Hebrew roots, while Sloane is derived from an Irish surname Ó Sluaghhadáin). Not only that but it is considered fanon that Klaus was born in Germany just like Diego and Vanya’s roots are considered to be Mexico and Russia respectively.
Not only that but he literally has ‘goodbye’ tattooed on his hand.
‘Goodbye’ has many different interpretations for what this could mean especially if this is a Klaus centric episode like we are assuming. And like I mentionned above with Klaus going through the fourth stage of grief in season three, this might be the episode where he moves into the fifth and final stage: acceptance. Perhaps by having one last talk with Umbrella Ben in the afterlife or by trying to track down Dave after Vietnam and discovering he (seemingly - I do have hopes for Commission Dave later on) did live a long and happy life after the war.
Mending fences with Ben and both getting the chance to air their genuine grievances with one another and mend their relationship from the horrific state it was in at the end of season two might help Klaus find closure. Klaus and Ben both love each other but they crossed a lot of lines and hurt each other deeply with their behaviours last season and they deserved the chance to try and fix the issues as well as say a proper goodbye to one another. This could give Klaus the opportunity to say just that as well as moving into accepting Ben’s death once and for all.
And when it comes to Dave, maybe just knowing that Dave moved on can help Klaus move from depression into acceptance. He was more than fine with stopping Dave from enlisting in the army during season two even knowing that it would mean that Dave would never meet or fall in love with Klaus. He was willing to sacrifice his chance at love with Dave if it meant that Dave would survive. Perhaps if he knew that Dave had been happy and safe in his later life he could then move on and say goodbye?
And maybe by coming to terms with the departure of two of the biggest influences in his life, motivate Klaus to embrace a new outlook and control of his life and his powers?
Wedding At The End Of The World
Tumblr media
This very clearly has ties to the very first episode of the show which is ‘We Only See Each Other At Weddings and Funerals’. Both have marriage and death connected in their titles. The characters that we know have been married so far out of our Hargreeves family so far is Reginald and Allison.
Reginald was married on his home planet when his wife died. Not a lot is known about her other than she was the original owner of Vanya’s violin in the original timeline. Maybe we’ll get information on her and just why Reginald left his home planet?
The next character married so far is Allison who so far has been married twice already (maybe they’re going three for three this time?). And judging by the episode title in season one, that event was the last time the Umbrella Hargreeves (bar Five) were all together as a family until they arrived for Reginald’s funeral. Maybe there’s a link there.
Or maybe this is referencing a whole other wedding that may be happening during the events of season three? I wouldn’t be surprised if Five reunites with Delores and decides just to get married to make it official. To paraphrase Klaus, it’s probably one of the healthiest relationships that family ever had regarding love.
Six Bells
Tumblr media
Now this tile had me stumped for a good bit and it will probably make more sense when season three does drop and we watch the episodes, but for now I can just theories on it.
Bells have often been associated with religious services, which may tie in with the last episode, but can also be rung for important events or in deference of important people.
But what is really getting me is that the title is six bells and there are six Umbrellas left so far. Could the bells be in reference to something regarding them, some sort of trap perhaps? Which will definitely tie in in some way to the seasons finale:
Oblivion
Tumblr media
Now like episode one this one seems fairly self-explanatory. This seems like Hotel Oblivion is finally coming into play here, meaning they are probably switching the order of stories from the comics. But the question is: if it is Hotel Oblivion, did the Umbrella’s enter the Hotel/prison out of free will or were they trapped here by the Sparrows? Anything goes at this point considering that it’s the last episode of the season.
But when it comes to the Hotel there are so many possibilities as to what happens here:
- Are all of the Umbrella’s trapped inside or did one escape and their other cell mate is a Sparrow perhaps (Sloane maybe for trying to leave the Sparrow Academy?)
- How will this set up the cliff-hanger for season four? Will all or some of the Umbrella Hargreeves be trapped in the hotel once the season ends and that helps set up the tension for the next season. Or maybe a break out of prisoners just like in the comics occurs and the Umbrella's are forced to deal with it?
-Where will this leave our Sparrows at the season end, because I know that we’re going to get attached (I know I will). Will some of them come with us into season four? Maybe they are split into two teams as the season ends, each containing a mixture of both Umbrella’s and Sparrows?
Well that’s all I have, maybe I’m right about some of it, maybe I’m all wrong, just need to wait until season three to find out.
