note to self do not try and watch BTS clips from SRK films at ungodly hours of the morning, your gay ass will regret it one way or another
#film: happy new year#local gay watches Bollywood.txt#this post is brought to you by me finding bloopers from Happy New Year yesterday on YouTube and having them on loop since#i cannot breathe#i open my mouth to take in oxygen and i do nothing but wheeze myself into oblivion#99.8% of the character breaks in these clips are caused by Abhishek B the rest are just cast shenanigans and SRK existing in general#part 1 and 2 of the blooper series are cursed tho istg#you have Shah Rukh about to judo kick a mf*cker (read: the cardboard bodyguard that fell down while he was passing#in one of the takes and everyone subsequently looking at him like he's lost a few braincells).#you have Shah Rukh almost spitting out his water in the first ten seconds of part 2 bc of Abhishek.#you have a very specific point in that video where for no reason whatsoever he leans in to tell Boman Irani something and just.#f*cking licks him from chin to cheekbone. Irani glitches for at least five seconds afterwards#as one is want to do after being licked by the Shah Rukh f*cking Khan.#Don flashbacks immediately show up. one of the other cast members is trying not to be the third wheel and is failing miserably#if we're honest he's more unhinged on set than on Twitter#channeling 'freedom is a thot' energy but so are you sir!!!#look here that is not very heterosexual of you#anyway i need this or else i'll talk about how the CBFC really heard everyone screaming about the saffron bikini#and decided that there was some weight to that and asked the Pathaan team to come back with edits to the songs#then again this is the same CBFC that just rescinded a certificate they gave to a Pakistani film for release in the country#and didn't give a reason as to why

FARQUAAD MAKES A TRIUMPHANT RETURN, and with FLYING COLORS!!!! This is DEFINITELY a contender for the silliest thing I've ever drawn. And I'm well aware that I'm essentially jumpscaring everyone for no good reason. It's actually pretty funny. There was no build up to this moment. I wish I could say I'm sorry but I'm really not.
As a small act of mercy, I’ll give you a little bit of context. Earlier this year, I was on a BIG shrek kick. Like, deep in the shrek fandom. Obsessed with the characters. Lore. Watching the movies. (over and over.) And I had the idea to make prints of each shrek villain. So I did jack horner and fairy godmother. I started farquaad, but I never finished coloring him. Filling in the flat colors was just tedious and I didn’t feel like working on it anymore. But recently I closed commissions, and I want to work on prints again. So after working on a comm yesterday, I revived this bad boy. Once I saw it with fresh eyes, I tweaked the colors and worked on the lighting and such. And tadaa!! He’s all done and ready to be print-ified. Next is prince charming >:).
I hope I didn’t scar you too much. I’m actually pretty happy with this, even after all the months that have passed. Watching that clip of him in his bedroom brought back SO many memories of making this drawing. Piecing together the rough layout of his room, planning the perspective - there was a LOT of details involved, like the FGM one. I actually laid down on a blanket at some point and had my sister take reference pictures of me in all these stupid poses. UHHH Those are on my old phone though so I can’t share *Starts sweating nervously*.
I’m excited to add him to my store!! I’ll be sure to make another post when I have the prints all ready to go.

JM ‘FACE’ Music Show Promotions Sketch
youtube
cr./to the creators of the media used in this post.
So yeah, yesterday just 4 days before JK's single Seven is about to land, after JK's concept photos and clip were released showing us a clear bias and after the BTS book pages about Jikook's Tokyo trip surfaced, surprisingly (or not so much) this BTB was released.
Cannot help but wonder if this was a scheduled release or one of those pieces of content they had waiting in the vault to release at some point, not necessarily yesterday.
Not that I am complaining that we get more JM content, not at all, it's just the timing that feels a little sus to me is all. You know, with the heavy on Yoonmin and little Jihope we got there.
And again, let me make myself clear here. I'm not complaining us getting the content. Both members did visit JM on set to support him and it's great to see this in the content. It's the timing, the editing and on top of that, what we didn't get in past BTB that has me a little on edge.
So, Suga, as we know, came to visit JM on set.
To support him on his first show.
Tumblr media
But this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What did Yoongi mean by this?
"And to build up a good reputation of us".
It's not about JM's performance, it comes straight after he says the reason he came was it was JM's first performance. This is another reason he came - build up good reputation...?
To show they are supporting each other?
Was this said seriously or jokingly?
I'm still not understanding it.
I do have thoughts as to what he meant by it, and I wouldn't put it by him to mean that too, but still hoping it's not that.
Tumblr media
Someone else also knows that, I can assure you. Same someone that found his way, with or without the company's approval (let's be honest here, it's without their approval and his way of kicking back) of supporting and promoting JM as publicly and as loudly as he could.
Same person that made a point to comment and let us know on JM's live after his last performance that he did want to come and see JM while recording.
And then we have this:
Tumblr media
Yes, this is me bitching. I decided to get all of the shit out of the way before I get to the positive.
"Suga who knows Jimin better than anyone when it comes to performing"? Really? Pushing the Yoonmin a little much aren't we?
He knows him better than Hobi when it comes to performing?
Actual dance leader.
He knows him better than JK when it comes to performing?
The man that literally said this:
youtube
But seriously, this is the person that spent hours on end practicing with JM. The person that seeks him out on stage. The person that knows his every move, knows when he's in pain, knows when he is struggling.
Yeah, no matter which what way you spin it, Yoongi is not the one "who knows Jimin better than anyone when it comes to performing".
Wait, be patient with me. I have one more little thing I have to vent about before moving on.
This:
Tumblr media
I can only imagine the talk down his bf gave him at home after this. "We're all grown ups, what are you doing?..."
Just like here:
Start at 0:49 seconds. JK talking about JM's live, not listening to Unholy.
I'm with you on this JK.
The need to apologize or pre-warn fans about a little touchy choreography with a woman, god forbid (oh, and btw, in the Korean side of this choreo the men were not touching JM, cause that's way worse, right?).
This is something I would love JM to get over, grow out of, but to tell you the truth, not holding my breath.
Ok, now that all my complaining is done with, let's move on to the fun part.
Now is the time to appreciate the 2 hyungs who came to support him. Yoongi for his first recording and Hobi for the last show.
Tumblr media
Hobi's letter. That man is the sweetest man ever. I love him so much and miss him terribly. Can't even imagine how much JM and JK are missing him (I'm gonna add Tae here too, their bond is really underestimated).
Tumblr media
And JM's reaction to it all. Priceless. Man cannot allow himself to get emotional on camera. The level of deflecting going on, lol.
Tumblr media
We don't see too much of the work process but it's clear that JM pushes himself, most likely too hard (time to mention once again the time restraints that had him over exerting himself). And by the end of it you can see that his chronic pain is playing up, with the visible taping on his arm and shoulder.
I actually think it was way worse. He was REALLY suffering.
Tumblr media
Do you notice what he's doing there with his left arm?
😭😭
Tumblr media
The level of dedication and work ethic...
Man is absolutely stunning.
Tumblr media
And an angel to top it off.
Tumblr media
I truly love this young man.
Tumblr media
Whoever gets to be with him has won the lottery.
Oh wait, we already have a lottery winner.

Okay TL;DR: A Response to a an a/nti-r/wde person who fell for satirical jokes while I provide proof of what I said last night.
Without further ado enjoy.
Alright P/apitimefire177. You wanted me to go band for band. Alright then. Let's go Band For Band.
Tumblr media
Okay so you first kick things off by saying I didn't cook you cause I was drunk? No I was not drunk the other night. If I was drunk then there would have been three key things to tell if I was drunk.
I would have rushed to post this yesterday.
There would have been a MULTITUDE of spelling errors and what not
The post itself would have been completely rushed out with those things akin to Reasons 1 and 2.
And the BIG ONE of it all.
READING THE FUCKING TAGS AND SEEING IF IT SAYS:
TW: DRUNK POSTING
No I do not think that you are stupid for doing your research on the actual definition of Aryan. Now it could have been used in a satirical manner. Let me repeat it for you.
SATIRICAL.
Which Satire is used as a form of humor to ridicule, criticize, or exaggerate a vice whether it be visual, literary, or other works.. In no way was Doom saying that Jaune was a Naz/i or a White Supremacist. It's a JOKE that you once again decided to be belligerent about and I believe that you again stalked Doom's Blog just to make that post. Which if I'm correct you posted this as well:
Tumblr media
Gee, its not like you also stalked Doom's blog just cause he made a JOKE about Jaune making you LOOK LIKE A FUCKING HYPOCRITE. Which yes I will admit I did have to look at your blog as well from the last post to break down what you said and posted. Which I will put myself there, but I'm not going to stoop down to your level and continuously find reasons to hate on you versus you who goes to stalk one person because they like Cardin or going into their DM's messaging them slurs, making every single post about them.
Lets also not forget that while on tumblr desktop R/WDE and A/nti-R/WDE stuff cant be seen. BUT On mobile it can be seen even if you mention it or post everything extremely properly.
I made now two posts about you, first one calling you out for your aggressive behavior, the second time was in response to what you said. This is the third post I had to make about you. and also
No, you hating on Jaune does not offend me at all you dumbass. BUT. I am a fan of the Cardin becoming the Reformed Bully Trope. Which in my opinion should have been done in Vol 7-8 of RWBY, where we see Cardin actually apologizing to Blake about his racism and that he is doing his best to learn.
Gee.. its not like we also see actual racists and people learn and forgive IN REAL LIFE AS WELL. (Video by VICE: Covering Up Racist Tattoos: Erasing the Hate)
Oh Heres another IRL Example! ( Video By WTAE-TV Pittsburgh: Former White Nationalist offers apology and seeks forgiveness for past lifestyle)
Or how even a DISNEY MOVIE SHOWED THAT A BULLY CAN LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES AS WELL AND OWN UP TO IT. (Zootopia: Gideon Gray apologizes to Judy)
I aint gonna stay too long on this, but I'm just going to move on as well.
Papi... you fell again for a SATIRICAL JOKE of me comparing you to DJ Akademiks. In no way am I calling you a fucking PDFile or for r-wordist. The only reason why I compared you to DJ Akademiks is because of the actual person himself being devoted to Drake. Which is why I called you "The DJ Akademiks of Jaune Stans" not because of what he has been recently accused of but for his devotion towards Drake.
Here are some examples of DJ Ak's devotion:
DJ Akademiks Top 5 (Which was during the CLB Album release in which at one song he fell asleep)
DJ Akademiks reaction to Drake being in Astroworld/Sicko Mode
DJ Akademiks Reaction to Drake using a clip of DJ Akademiks Top 5 snippet in his Diss
This is what I MEANT by calling you a DJ Akademiks of Jaune Stans. Now I'm not saying every Jaune Stan is bad, hell at one point I was one too before I realized how shit he is as a character.
Yet at the same time you gave a half-hearted apology about the slurs you used so casually, while also not addressing the DM's of harassement you sent, while deleting the posts of you attacking other people in the RWDE tag because you got caught lacking. You never apologized to them...
that is not a sign of maturity. That is a sign of immaturity and not taking accountability for your actions. Because guess what you think you got away scot free but I think you forgot.... ONE LITTLE THING ABOUT THE INTERNET.
WHATEVER YOU POST EVEN IF YOU DELETE IT STAYS ON THE INTERNET.
Okay what the fuck does Tauradonna have to do with what we are talking about here. STAY FOCUSED ON THE SUBJECT OF WHAT YOU ARE ARGUING AGAINST.
Tumblr media
Psst, I see A belligerent jaune simp. My biggest problem is that you called me a "RWDE Person" who uses R/RWBY as a "Valuable Source" which I replied to in a mature manner while also telling you that I used reliable sources. I am aware of Cardin being racist in Volume One, which please refer back to above where I am a fan of Cardin becoming a "Reformed Bully" Trope along with some examples of actual racists and neo-n/azi's taking accountability for what they did and doing what they can to clean themselves up as a person.
Now I did mean to say, it's time for me to pack it up which was an error on my part (I was once again not drunk.)
Plus, at the end I told you to do some self-reflection, drink water, and to have a good one. While also before that I even said in my first call out to BLOCK AND MOVE ON and to not witchunt you. Because I wanted to give you at least SOME FORM of peace.
I once again provided proof of why you fell for these satirical jokes while also getting your ass chopped up and cooked up at the same time.
Now if you may excuse me I got better things to do instead of having listen to your hypocrisy.

27, 59, or 82 for the kisses? 😘
And finishing the final two here (first one responded to yesterday). As usual, a continuation of the 'verse started in this reblog! Send me kisses for SaintSpy May, y'all!
-
27. Bloody kiss; 59. Post-fight kiss
“At some point, I am going to teach you to run,” Michael snaps over comms.
“I’m running! I’m running right now,” Ethan snaps back, and reaches out to grab a light pole, using it to pivot his momentum around a corner as another hail of gunfire chases him.
He fires over his shoulder twice to discourage close pursuit, dashing down an alley and towards a gate. There’s blood in his mouth—not relevant right now. Another shot, and the lock blasts off. Ethan shoulders through it and keeps going, kicking it closed behind him. There’s a house—great. Another shot and he’s through the front door, running straight through to the kitchen he can see through an arch in the back.
“Don’t give me that. You engaged them,” Michael says.
“Better me than a civilian!” Nobody here, thank god. He ducks around the arch as more gunfire starts up behind him, turning left to blow through the glass of a window over the counter instead of making for the backdoor. He vaults himself up and through, finds himself back in the enclosed courtyard, makes for the gate again—this time to climb over it.
“Yeah,” Michael says, furious. “That. That’s what I mean. They won’t shoot you if they don’t see you. Learn to fucking run—there you are!”
Tires screeching as a pick-up truck comes to a stop in front of Ethan, and then Michael’s shoved the door open and is aiming—behind Ethan, firing a rifle as Ethan throws himself at the gate and starts to climb. He vaults himself over the top and lands on the ground still running, low under Michael’s fire until he gets to the door and Michael shoves himself back into the driver’s seat. He dives in as Michael peels away and slams the door shut, fire following them down the little alley and out into the main street.
“Keep your head down and let me get us out of here,” Michael says, and Ethan does as he’s told, releasing the clip on his gun and reloading as he pants. “There’s blood on your lips.”
“Elbow to the face,” Ethan explains. “I’m fine.”
“For fuck’s sake, Ethan,” Michael snaps, and then devolves into swearing in Turkish as he takes a sharp turn and guns the engine towards the freeway, just as more fire starts out to their left.
Ethan picks up the rifle and starts to roll down the window—
“Stay down!”
Ethan rolls the window back up.
“I didn’t even carry a gun on jobs until you started coming,” Micheal continues to rant, pulling onto the freeway and sliding into the far lane, weaving in and out of traffic. “Because when someone pulled a gun, I left.”
“We were in a crowd—” Ethan tries.
“You’re a trained espionage agent,” Michael interrupts. “Lose them!”
“There were civilians—”
“You,” Micheal interrupts again, hauling them out at the nearest exit and taking a winding path out into the middle of the Spanish countryside, “are currently a civilian. We are committing a crime, Ethan. None of these people have a reason to pull punches—”
“Which is why I drew the fire,” Ethan says stubbornly.
“If they can’t find you, they will stop firing,” Michael says, and his voice hasn’t raised above a very forceful indoor voice, but Ethan still feels like he’s being yelled at. “This is a mess, Ethan. Now we have to fucking shake them, and they know what truck I’m driving, and you’re injured, because you couldn’t just let them walk away—” He pulls over very abruptly and stops the truck. “Out.”
Ethan blinks.
“New car, out out out,” Michael says impatiently, and Ethan realizes they’ve pulled up alongside an old junker on the side of the road.
“Is that thing even going to start?” Ethan asks incredulously.
“I planted it, yes,” Michael says, and reaches down to grab a suitcase, letting himself out the door. “Hurry up!”
Ethan hurries up, grabbing the rifle and his empty clip on the way out—no point making this easy for anyone. The door to the new car is unlocked, and Michael drops the suitcase into Ethan’s lap as he gets in, starts the car without a key and takes off down the road in the opposite direction to the one they were driving in.
“Head down,” he grits out. “They don’t know what I look like.”
“I’m sorry,” Ethan says.
“Good,” Michael responds, and for about half an hour they drive in absolute silence.
Finally, Michael pulls them back onto the freeway, and then off again about four exits later. “New car again,” he says shortly, and they pile out and pile back into another pickup truck, Ethan taking a minute to fuss with the suitcase to make sure it’s secure—
Michael closes the door on the driver’s side, reaches over, and hauls Ethan into a kiss.
Ethan blinks, and then kisses back, ignoring the way his mouth starts bleeding again at the pressure.
“I’m glad you’re okay,” Michael says, against his mouth.
“I’m sorry I fucked up your job,” Ethan responds. He is, honestly. At the time, he’d played the odds through his head, and it had seemed like the safest course of action to just try to control the scenario, but—
“You didn’t,” Michael says, and nudges the suitcase with his foot. He gives a wry smile. “You fucked up the getaway.”
“I’m sorry I fucked up the getaway,” Ethan corrects himself obediently.
Michael kisses him again, which feels a little bit like a reward. “Next time you run, or you don’t get to come again,” he warns as he pulls back, turning over the engine and starting back in yet a third direction.
“That’s fair,” Ethan agrees. Michael now has a little blood on his own mouth. Ethan wonders vaguely if it’s strange that he finds that attractive. “And hey, you got a new kiss type out of it?”
“I’m not sure I want to count ‘kiss involving blood’,” Michael says wryly,
“I meant,” Ethan says, “post-fight kiss?”
Michael side-eyes him.
“Maybe?” Ethan tries again, attempting to smile disarmingly.
“Hm,” Michael says.
“I really am sorry.”
Michael turns back to the road. “I’ll count it for now. If you’re very, very good the rest of the time.”
Relief. Ethan collapses back into the seat, smiling. “I’ll make it up to you.”
“You better.”
“I will,” Ethan insists. “Did you know you look really hot with blood on your teeth?”
Michael pauses at a crossroads to drop his head onto the steering wheel, something of an incredulous laugh startled out of him. “Why do I like you?” he asks, but he’s smiling.
Ethan grins wider. “If you find a good place to pull over,” I’ll show you.
“Hm,” Michael says again, and turns right. Ethan’s pretty sure he’s won. “We’ll see.”

Last Monday of the Week 2023-11-27
Snow
Listening: Someone on IRC linked me to 3Blue1Brown's Hallelujah Parody about the vicissitudes of apparent patterns in sequences.
youtube
Reading: You Want My Password or a Dead Patient:, a paper about information security and the lack thereof in medical contexts. Paper linked here, but I first heard about it in this Choast.
A very good deep dive into the extremes of classic reasons why information security is bypassed: it's just much more important that you have access to resources Right Now in a hospital context than it is that they are secure against hacker, most of the time.
Hospitals process a lot of private information, so they are often beholden to the security standards imposed by regulations agencies. If you've engaged with mandatory security regulations you'll know a lot of them are, uh, bad?
(Famously if you want to meet US FIPS Government Standards you cannot use the Good Elliptic Curve ed25519 and instead you have to use a different, less well secured curve.)
Anyway what this means is that you have a significant conflict between the very high stakes and fast paced world of hospital medicine, and a system that wants you to log back in every time you step away from the x-ray machine.
Watching: Nothing.
Playing: As you may know if you're following me, I started Dark Souls this week. I am having a great time in Dark Souls! It's a lot of fun. I am still where I was yesterday, having just beaten the Belltower Gargoyles.
youtube
There are definitely notes that I have. It is for sure a 12 year old game. Some of the opacity is definitely intentional difficulty, like requiring you to just feel out the parry timing, but I it probably wouldn't make the game any easier if it had reliable indicators of when you're in position to backstab or riposte someone and it would make parrying much more fun. I like parrying but so often you parry someone and then just hit them normally instead of going for the cool finisher riposte.
Making: Like ten minutes ago I reopened Cinnabar and Calcite and did a little hardware swap, moving a new network card into Calcite and Calcite's old network card into Cinnabar. Everyone is settled back in. Wifi card upgrades are not really essential but it is nice to have wifi on a desktop even if you don't use it because a) someday you will and b) it's free bluetooth.
Also: Wrote some very bad bash to use my motherboard RGB as a tally light for recording these Dark Souls clips, since I've lost a few clips to hitting the wrong record button a few times.
Tools and Equipment: Original Tuesdayposter @girlfriendsofthegalaxy had a video on marinara sauce this last Tuesday and I was inspired to try some tomato pasta bakes. I usually make Mornay sauce based pasta bakes because it's what my parents usually made, but you gotta try a really spicy tomato pasta bake.
I got some habaneros and jalapenos from the farmers market and made a big pot of spicy tomato tuna bake and especially with the weather being How It Is that was great, I'm making a mushroom one sometime soon it kicked ass. That recipe was loosely based on this one, although I put in a bunch of extra vegetables.

Dr. Daredevil (Jay ark AU)
Tumblr media
Chaeyeon
I yawned as I dumped my scrubs in the trash. Being in the OR, even if it was only to assist in major operations, was the only way to get me back in Hwang Inseok’s good graces. I had spoken to him a few times since I came back, and even though he assured me he was the one running this hospital, he was unable to explain why he couldn’t give me the chief resident’s position. So much for Chairman Park not having an influence on him.
“Dr. Baek, you’re here early!” A young nurse quipped. She had told me her name just yesterday, but I couldn’t remember. A lot of the nurses I had worked with quit and now I needed to memorize all these new names.
“Yeah, trying to get to the good cases first.” I lied. In fact I hadn’t gone home yet.
For some reason I had trouble sleeping alone. Tossing and turning in bed all night, I would look awful in the morning. Eventually I would get out of bed and get dressed in the middle of the night to come here. Except for a few nurses the place would be quiet. No one was bothering me. I would wander the halls while reading the patients’ files. Bond with them. On rounds they would often ask me questions and ignore the attendings in the room. It wouldn’t be long until they would start complaining to Director Hwang about me. I couldn’t care less.
I felt like a bird that had its wings clipped, it couldn’t get worse, but I could brighten up my dull days by providing extra care to my patients.
“I see you’re here early again?”
I turned around, staring in the face of Dr. Kim Seohae. She was everything I had been before I began spiraling. Young, beautiful, smart, ambitious. But she had it out for me the minute I started working here.
“I was here all night.” I offered nonchalantly, knowing that it would piss her off. Kim Seohae went home every day at 8pm. Like clockwork. No overtime, no extra shifts. Must be nice to come from money.
“Really? And you thought it was a good idea to be in the OR first thing in the morning? On such a major surgery?”
I knew where she was getting at. She had been watching me like a hawk. Waiting for me to screw up on a patient just so she could run to Hwang and rat me out. It took me a while to realize she felt threatened by me. She was new here so she didn’t know that that’s where I started. The nurses must have filled her in, just like I was filled in that Kim Seohae was in the running to become chief resident. And that there was no competition.
“Relax! I was just assisting.”
“Does Director Hwang know?”
I was about to respond when I heard the old man’s voice bouncing off the walls. “Know what?”
“Sir, Dr. Baek has been here all night, but still went in for surgery this morning.”
“Assisting!” I added, visibly irritated.
“Dr. Kim. Nobody likes a snitch. Don’t you have patients to see?”
It felt good knowing Hwang still had my back, and I got a huge kick out of watching Kim Seohae gasp, before she fixed her face and retreated.
“I was on my way to you. I know all about your all-nighters here. Go home, and don’t come back for at least 24 hours.”
“You’re kidding!”
“You’re already on probation as far as your colleagues go, how do you think it’ll fair if you mess up because you’re sleep-deprived?”
“What about you then? You too wait for me to mess up?”
“I’m sending you home to protect you. Because I care about you! But you have to give me and yourself some time. It won’t all just go back to normal. Things have changed.”
Nodding, I allowed him to walk me to the lockers and to my car once we stepped out of the building.
“Listen, I know it's hard being back here. The only thing keeping you sane is the fact that you know this place forwards and backwards. Give it some time, it’ll get better. And as far as Kim Seohae goes, try not to butt heads with her. You’re superior to her. All you have to do is get her to realize it as well.”
“I know. Thanks. I mean it!” It felt like a stone, maybe the size of my fist, was lifted off the pile of rocks I felt buried under.
I was back at work two days later, feeling a lot better. Hwang was, as so often, right. If I acted like the doctor who got demoted then that’s all my colleagues would see me for. I needed to stop feeling sorry for myself, dust myself off and go back to work. For the first time since I left Seoul I allowed myself to process what had happened.
None of it was my fault, yet nothing had happened without my consent. Painting Jaebeom as the villain was easy, but also woefully wrong. I had a choice, either cover for him or look the other way. And nothing good would come from me playing the ‘what if’-game. What’s done is done, from now on I’d have to be more careful when making decisions.
“Somebody’s in a good mood!” The nurse whose name I couldn’t remember smiled at me when I walked through the door. “I arrived a few minutes ago and heard that something’s happening today.”
“Like what? A big operation? A VIP patient?"
“I don’t know. Doctors have been talking since yesterday but nobody would tell us nurses.”
I shrugged, not feeling the need to participate in gossip. The fact that none of my colleagues texted me stung a bit, but I refused to show my disdain.
“Here they come!” A staffer gasped while I opened the door to the emergency staircase. Instinctively I turned around to see who the ‘they’ were.
I wish I hadn’t.
Walking through the door like the Holy Trinity that they were, like knights in shining armor, saviors with shining halos over their heads, were Lee Kangmin, Kang Hyuntae and Park Jaebeom.
I would’ve pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating but I was frozen in place and unable to move. My only saving grace was that they hadn’t seen me.
“What the fuck are they doing here?” I mumbled as soon as I regained the ability to speak.
“You know who they are, Dr. Baek?” The nurse asked suspiciously but I was already out of the door. Knowing exactly where they were heading, I decided to avoid Hwang’s office at all costs.
Lee Kangmin
“Well, you said it was a small hospital in the coutryside …” Hyuntae began, but swallowed his words when Jaebeom turned to look at him.
“Yes, I did. And here we are!”
I watched the two hotshot surgeons from Seoul exit the car and couldn’t stifle a laugh. They looked so lost here, so out-of-place. It’s exactly what Hwang Inseok said when I called him to let him know we were coming.
‘Coming to do what?’, he had asked but I couldn’t tell him that Dr. Park Jaebeom and Dr. Kang Hyuntae were going to ask for a job here.
‘What other choice do we have?’, Park Jaebeom would ask. As much as I hated to admit it, he was right. No other hospital in Seoul would hire him or Kang Hyuntae. Jaebeom’s grandfather would make sure of that. As for why Andong? Well, since it was my previous workplace, Park Jaebeom thought it might be easier if they had a guy on the inside. Me.
‘And you’re sure your decision has nothing to do with the fact that Chaeyeon is there?’, I would ask over and over.
‘I just want to start over.’, Park Jaebeom would then say, sounding somewhat sincere.
“Alright, we’re going to put down roots if we don’t move! Also, I want to avoid drawing too much attention to you two so we better get going.”
Walking through the doors, a familiar yet unnerving feeling spread across my chest. For a brief moment I allowed my thoughts to wander to Chaeyeon. Was this how she felt when she came back here? I felt people’s gazes on us and quickly ushered my fellow doctors towards the elevators.
“Relax, man. You’re making me nervous!” Park Jaebeom said as soon as the elevator door closed in front of us.
I let out a shaky breath and shook my head in his direction. I couldn’t deal with him right now, I had bigger fish to fry.
“Director Hwang, how have you been?” I said as soon as we walked into his office. No need to introduce the men to my right. Hwang knew exactly who they were.
“Sit.” He said dryly. To an outsider it might have looked like he was being rude. I, however, knew better. Judging by the tone in his voice he was going to sit us down and teach us all a lesson.
I shook my head at Park Jaebeom and Kang Hyuntae again, gesturing for them to stay quiet.
“I didn’t say much over the phone, but I-”
“You’re all fools!” The old man lashed out, making sure his voice was heard in the hallway.
Jaebeom
“Sir, let m-”
“And you’re especially stupid!”
Next to me I could hear Hyuntae snort.
“Sit down, and don’t say another word!”
I looked over at Lee Kangmin, trying to gauge the situation of how normal it was for this hospital’s director to reprimand surgeons. He didn’t look uncomfortable but rather serene. Was he enjoying this?
“You didn’t have to show up here, dressed in your expensive suits, and tell me that you want to work for me. I knew you’d be showing up here the minute Chaeyeon walked in. That’s right, I took her back, but do you know how stupid it would be of me to have you two working here?”, the old man concluded, pointing at Hyuntae and myself.
“If it’s because of my grandfather, I-”
“I’m not afraid of the Chairman! You listen to me very carefully. If you want to work here, you’ll do so under my conditions! Don’t expect to come in here and run the place. And you!”, he stopped and focused his gaze on me. “You stay far far away from Chaeyeon! Are we clear?”
I looked to my left. Both Lee Kangmin and Hyuntae were nodding their heads furiously, while the old man’s gaze was still on me.
“Yes, Director Hwang.”
“Brilliant! Dr. Lee will show you around. Stop by the admin’s office later today to get your badges. Your first shift starts tomorrow.”
And with that the old man waved his hand in front of us as if he was trying to get rid of an unwanted fly. Lee Kangmin was first to get up and bow his head. Director Hwang had long turned his back on us and was typing something on his old computer.
Outside I released the breath I didn’t know I was holding, quietly asking Hyuntae if we had just made our biggest mistake yet.
“This way, gentlemen! I’ll give you the grand tour, we can even stop for a snack in the cafeteria and afterwards we’re getting our badges.”
“I’d rather not be paraded around, if you don’t mind.” I mumbled more to myself, afraid I might bump into Chaeyeon at any moment.
“She’s not here.” Lee Kangmin said calmly.
“And how would you know?” I heard Hyuntae ask, before I had a chance to.
“Hwang warned her. He always looks out for her.”
Chaeyeon
Pressing my body against the door of the locker room, I prayed that my assumption would be wrong. I purposely hadn’t kept in touch with anyone in Seoul but now I wish I had.
I wanted to know why Kangmin was back here, and why he had brought Jaebeom and Kang Hyuntae with him. There had to be a plausible reason for them to show up here, but all my mind kept thinking was that all three of them could soon become my colleagues.
“No. Impossible! He wouldn’t. Hwang wouldn’t do this to me!” Only a small part of me remained optimistic. I had no idea what Hwang would or wouldn’t do. And Jaebeom was far more unpredictable.
I was startled when someone threw himself at the door. “What the…” I heard Kim Seohae mutter from outside the locker room. Quickly I stepped away from the door and watched as Kim Seohae almost flew through the room.
“Sometimes the door gets jammed.” I shrugged and tried hard to keep myself from laughing.
Seohae shot daggers at me but didn’t say anything as she got her stuff out of her locker and changed.
“Going home?” I offered an olive branch, but watched as Seohae set it on fire.
“Obviously. Some of us have a life!” Giving me one more pitiful glare she exited the room, snorting at me.
At least now I could rest assured I tried to be nice to her. Dealing with Kim Seohae should be the last thing on my list of things to worry about.
Clearly the first place belonged to Park Jaebeom.

psst, this is for you, anon 💟
It's currently 6:17pm as I type this:
My weekend was pretty uneventful as predicted, but that's okay. Yesterday (Saturday) was kind of an off day — I kept zoning out. I don't know.. I was thinking about everything, upcoming with life events, modules (courses), work, and internal thoughts in general. On top of that, I caught myself trying to find a reason to be sad? Which had me like "wtf"!? Just because I felt bored and quiet. Big deal. It's normal to feel like life is boring and/or uninspiring. Why force myself to feel depressed? I guess because sadness has and will always be me, I don't know how to react when things are uneventful. (had to pause to do some errands — 7:33pm).
Still learning —
My day ended on a low note because I had to get after my nephew and cut our soccer time at the park short because he kicked the ball at me pretty hard and it hurt a lot. When I tried to "confront" him about it, he tried to be dishonest and stayed quiet after I pointed that out. I felt bad afterwards because I should have handled it differently by us having a more in depth conversation about why he did what he did and if he would apologize or admit fault. Agh— I just feel like a shitty uncle now.
That's how my Saturday ended.
Today I woke up feeling the same, but I tried to make it up by messaging my sister to see if I could take him to the park again — it's 7:44pm atm and she still hasn't responded so oof.
That being said, it was a slower day — went to buy errands for my grandpa's father's day celebration, then video called a friend from Germany because she asked me to, I'm glad that I made time for her because I was able to encourage her to eat dinner!! After that, headed to my aunt's mobile/trailer home to celebrate Father's Day for my grandpa's. Which by the way, that trailer/mobile home community she lives at was pretty cool? I recorded some clips but I won't share them because who cares. Lastly, I'm taking a walk at the park RIGHT NOW after dropping off food plates at my grandparents.
I'm planning on going home in a bit, eat a couple of my favorite cookies which I ordered a pack of 30 xD, and then call it a night before waking up around 4am to go do laundry at the laundromat.
There you go, anon. My weekend was a little off, and uneventful, but I still made the most of it. Hoping for a good week ahead 🫡😊😊
Okay -
I hope you have a good week ahead as well — Take care, anon ✌🏽😊😊

There's a bunch of stuff happening but he's got to go to Dr Gonzalez and I'm worried about it it was acting strange all day yesterday saying it has to be put in line and tons of stuff. It is an invisible person abysmal person not invisible and we have a hard time dealing with him we're doing all this work and it refuses to get my husband anything I said what kind of idiocy is this when you're paying us money to do projects and you won't pay him a dime it says he's in a different situation so he explained it is it don't ask me to explain it again and said his two famous he's too big all of a sudden I said this I'm tired of hearing this s*** in the meeting I said it my words were I'm tired of hearing it this is a bunch of malarkey going on and the fun part is he's going to blame you. I said in code. And he said no we alone and he said yeah I will. So he said you better be strong right now I said I am strong right now you wanker everybody needs money in this life and for some reason you're not paying me money but I know is you're insane and it helps me more than helps you by far it doesn't help you at all and for some reason you don't remember it it's probably the guy in front so he flipped out in the meeting I don't have to pay him anything it was just saying you're f****** nuts on top of it we need him to have stuff and your nuts I said how about how about pain in that 30 dollars to demanded he got up and he said I don't have to put up with this I got Brian actually to handle so as he's leaving he's trying to flip us off and we said if you leave we're just going to take over cuz we don't want to put up with this s*** from you too you going to be a little baby. So you sat down and says what can I do for you we said not much we'll have to handle most of it that's why I said I certainly get something he's going to get very aggressive because we're just sitting here condescending being dicks he said smiling and said these rebels are going to start rising up and I don't have anything to stand on still so you got it since Jesus Christ that was so hard it's hard hardly worth it yeah his car and it started crying says it's true I can't f****** handle any of this s*** so you haven't seen nothing yet my clans gone and hers is gone you haven't seen nothing yet just sitting here being out El Chinco. He raises to set up and it says I know what I have to do is trying to get social security money as I'm pulling teeth you can see now videos yeah I get this you're there bro they're bud they won't pay you a dime cuz they're stupid and I can't get you anything cuz they're stupid that's right I'm getting some rebel ships yes he was saying you're kind of lame it's going to drag on and he's a young guy but thank you for the lesson it's probably going to come naturally from now on it's people so ornery when they have anything the guy next door is nothing and is a huge pig we're looking at taking over the land you know my positions so does he that these people are jerks to him horrendous jerks they just won't let him have anything won't let him get away with anything won't let him even clip his nails without a huge dumb s*** thing happening I'm sick of that too it's a human being and your mistreating the living s*** out of him and shows you're getting a s*** kicked out of you. I don't want to go through this ever again so I'm going to start working mac daddy says. And I'm thanks. I'm thanked by my husband.
Is the process of explaining what's going on this morning they had a meeting and he was steamed and riled up since anybody going to offer any ideas anyone Bob Mars got up said fry them at the state and see what their responses you have to do a sounding Tim Doyle stood up and said push them around like they're pushing us around it's very cute and curious and peculiar and they're pushing us around and we're supposedly the boss Mike two said take it out of them like they took it out of us they're probably scream but they were doing the whole time so I've done it and it works why reinvent the wheel you don't have time to everyone is going to be at us it's only a matter of time. Someone else stood up and said why don't we have a schedule made up and I said we have one they do have one they just don't publish it so you didn't have a schedule and they were surprised and both sides are a mess and tell me if it's doing stuff down there and that's what starts so sorry go off who says it like this the ships were deteriorating and it'll probably not salvageable but 4 years ago it's plenty of time for Tommy f to have started building and turning those ships into lasers and they fight so fiercely that it's probably not ships anymore it's probably huge lasers and that's how it's done when you're fighting over a laser base and the skins show something in the will and Bill said it doesn't look like a ship and so my husband said we're up schitt's creek then and it's not laughing it's worse and they're moving out actually right now
Hera
Those needed that was needed
Zues
Yes little boy all I can hear you thinking
Hera
It's a few reasons why I didn't tell anyone she knows them but we'll go ahead and do it and we're going to roll in this and you guys going to be rolling around in each other very shortly they're going to shut up
Thor Freya
This is making me mad but these rebels know about it now
Mac
We're on all this and we're putting alerts out now we need troops immediately we need people to sign up immediately

Finally finding and watched a documentary on Larry Ray. His sentence was announced yesterday and when the news reported how he moved into a college dorm and started a cult, my mother and I both were like “huh? How?”
It’s kinda weird how it all went down. I question everything and quickly get annoyed with rhetoric, and my general disdain for authority (especially when shit isn’t lining up) means I’m less likely to fall for a cult, but I do have a low key obsession with cults (definitely not writing a story on ao3 about cults or anything what do you mean????) so hearing that piqued my interest. It was hard to find stuff on YouTube because for some reason none of the true crime girlies picked it up (oh, I forgot; they only do videos on “evil women” or when women are brutally murdered, and none of that happens in this. Whoops, silly me) and the only clips were from during the trial as info was coming out, which would have left me to try to piece the story together and that’s too much work for me on a Saturday.
Anyway, peacock had a documentary on it that at least helped me make sense of it. Someone at the end remarks that his abuse was mostly outside of the college dorm and that even if the school kicked him out it wouldn’t have really stopped him as the students followed him when he went off campus. Considering the time lines, I think at least two or three people would have been spared due to not having access to his insistent love bombing in the beginning, but it wouldn’t have stopped everything yes.
They’re asking why he did it. This man was in some high places before this. He introduced Rudy Giuliani to the former leader of the Soviet Union back in the 90s, and was such close friends to the nypd commissioner back then that he was the BEST MAN in his wedding. He had ties to mobsters, and was an informant in a scheme that took down members of some of the most well known crime families in New York. The dude had connects.
But after getting indicted for his own part of the scheme, he was a no one. His connects wanted nothing to do with him. And so he sees these bright young students whom he can impress and influence the way he used to with more important people? He’s going to take that. If he can’t be powerful the way he was before, he’s going to take it where he can; plain and simple. He’s not some mastermind; he’s a white guy who knows how to butter people up. And people who like yes men will let a man like that near them especially if he has connects to help them look good. And the kids he manipulated were young and vulnerable. It wasn’t anything special about him: he just knew how to play someone.

Trampoline Madness
As stated before, I work at a trampoline park and obviously we see all different types of people everyday. I had work again yesterday and for some reason my brain thought of "what would the brothers be doing if given unlimited access to an 'older kid's' playground?" Idk if this is funny to anyone else but I think it is. Especially if you've ever been to one of these parks because you've 100% seen all of these people. I’m writing most of them as kids and I will be including the dateables this time!
Taglist: @trashlord-007  @asmos-slut  @q-ueue  @simpinginthecorner  @thatoneweebdammit
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lucifer - Tired party mom
The one who tries their best to follow all the little shits they’re responsible for (they don’t do well)
Reads the rules ahead of time so workers don’t have to warn them
Might go a little Karen but quickly calms down and turns nice and understanding again
Always hearing his voice across the park and learning the names of the troublemakers
God forbid a worker has to tell them their kid Mammon isn’t listening to instruction
The child is dead
Mammon - Literal hell spawn (12-14)
The reason I wanna quit
Disobeys all the rules even after you tell him repeatedly
Climbs all the mats, whips dodge balls, constantly double jumps people
Thinks he is an acrobat and nearly fucking dies
Needs his own worker assigned to him to keep some resemblance of sanity in the park
Tries to go on attractions without getting the right wristband (it’s like $6 more)
Harness hoarder, no you cannot go on the zip-line over and over again there are 15 kids waiting
Almost gets everyone kicked out
Leviathan - Awkward and adorable (8-10)
One of the reasons I haven’t quit
Sweet but very shy and quiet, probably carries a stuffed animal around
Usually close to Mom Lucifer or doing their own thing
Sits in the balls in the obstacle course of takes one of the foam cubes as a friend #companioncube
Ends up getting in trouble with Mammon and has a mini panic attack
Gets lost in the tube playground and cries until an adult rescues him
Tries rock wall with Beel and Mammon and needs to be rescued
Will get harnessed and clipped to the zip-line but will chicken out unless you go up with him and convince him to go then he’ll love it and go as many times as he can
Satan - The daredevil (7-9)
Frequent heart attack inducer
Insane flips and tricks for his age (a child)
Occasionally breaks the rules but never repeats it if you tell him for the love of god do it nicely or he’ll be worse than Mammon
Asks questions about attractions and how they work, tells you if harness is too loose or tight, figures out to clip and unclip himself at rock walls
Tests the strength of the zip-line and rope course by launching himself
A menace in dodge ball, strong chance of losing his temper with someone like Mammon
Could literally slam into a wall, lose a tooth, get a concussion, and no tears will be shed
Asmodeus - The pretty princess (5-6)
Pretty loud, always in a group and gathering more people as the time goes on
Tends to be kinda bossy and show favoritism
Probably wearing a dress or skirt with shorts underneath to go on attractions (very difficult)
Both super sweet and bitchy, might compliment you but it’s very backhanded
“Your hair is cute but it should be...” “Your nails are gross, I can help you!” Please you’re making me cry
Starts walking around and talking to people while still attached to the rock wall
Plays dodge ball but cries if he gets hit
Beelzebub - Absolute sweetheart (7-8)
The other reason I haven’t quit
An absolute joy to work with, so understanding if we’re understaffed or busy
Probably has a little sibling (Belphie) who he plays gently with, lets them win, does this with other kids too
He just carries a kid away if they’re continuously breaking a rule and gives them to the party mom (Lucifer)
The cutest small talk when he’s waiting in line or getting harnessed “I’m Beel and this is my brother Belphie. It’s my friend’s birthday today and also I like your hair.” ??😭??
Very patient, raises his hand for switching rock walls, helps other kids on the obstacle course
Asks to play dodge ball with the workers (If he wins he gets a free Slurpee)
Belphegor - Casual and pretty chill (7-8)
We have an understanding with each other
If you wanna break a rule that bad make sure I don’t catch you
Usually just follows his sibling around and stays out of trouble though, likes laying on the trampolines
Only talks when spoken to but not anxious or shy, just uninterested
Plays dead when he goes on the zip line
Just lays down when he wants to get off the rock wall until you walk over and unclip him
He figured out how to unclip, he just doesn’t
Becomes one with the foam and ball pits
Diavolo - Fun dad
Certified DILF, works out 8 days a week and still has time for the kids
Seems more excited than some of the kids as he drags them around to everything
NOT letting those little shits win, they must earn it
Frequent rule breaker but he’s just so excited and very sorry when you tell him
Definitely goes on everything with a harness required (zip line, rock wall, floating obstacle course)
Waits patiently to get harnessed while excitedly talking to the kids
Does not dare to unclip himself from a rock wall and stops kids who attempt it (Thank you so much, I’m the one who has to climb the wall and get the clip back if it’s not secured😩)
Barbatos - The professional
An ex Olympian/training to compete or something
100% has a membership and comes 3 times a week
Impresses all the kids (and workers)
Kids like Satan are drawn to him and he helps them with tricks
Enforces the rules if kids keep double jumping on the trampoline
He tells them about horrific injuries that he’s seen and scares the shit out of them but hey it works
Not much of an attraction guy, stays in the pro area for the majority
Simeon - Table watcher/video recorder
“You’re doing great sweetie!” holds his phone like a mom
Either recording his kid or sitting at the table guarding the stuff
Very pleasant, chats with other moms and workers
Usually follows all the rules and very apologetic if told otherwise
“I’m sorry, he can’t just sit in the ball pit because others wanna do the obstacle course.”
“Oh! I’m sorry, no problem hun, I understand.” 😩❤😩❤😩❤
Luke - Bossy kid (6-8)
Another little shit, usually the birthday kid
Ignorant to rules, obeys but gives a little attitude first
Tells all the workers it’s his birthday and tries to get favors (free ice cream, multiple zip line rides in a row, doing EVERY rock wall)
Tries to determine where everyone goes
“We have to go on the zip line Levi. Please? It’s my birthday🥺“
Literally the sweetest until he’s told no
Moms need to have a talk with him and then he’s much better behaved
Still uses birthday privilege to the MAX though
Solomon - Grandpa
The least problematic (ironic for Solomon)
The massage chair is his domain, he’s literally been in the same one for 2 hours now is he still alive?
Mans put like $40 into it and his present to Luke was 5 minutes in “his” chair
Can be persuaded into going on the zip line after his time runs out
Uses his phone to call one of the adults over to bring him food
Can’t really say much about this guy
He’s chill, out of the way, pretty funny, and relatable

Jeon’s Anatomy - Part 2
Neurosurgeon!Wonwoo x Pediatric Surgeon!Female Reader (briefly feat. Seventeen, Nu’est, Pristin, Ateez, Itzy, and Hinapia)
Word Count: 3199
Contents: Grey’s Anatomy au, lots of medical talk (tumours, cancer, surgery, serizures, post surgery complications)
You know you’re a kick ass pediatric surgeon, you have no need to prove it to anyone at all, certainly not the ass who runs the Neuro department. Well until you’re forced to work a case with him, anyway.
Cast | Prequels | Introduction | Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Epilogue
“Good… morning,” Jieqiong hesitated as you approached her, Mingi, and Yewon.
“Morning,” you hummed quietly, sipping on the coffee you had just barely had time to grab before rounds.
“Was it a long night?” Mingi worried.
“You look awful,” Yewon said before yelping as Jieqiong stomped on her foot.
“I feel slightly better than awful,” you chuckled hollowly. “Eunbin had an intracranial hemorrhage in the middle of the night which triggered a seizure. She deteriorated rapidly and we had to open her back up.” You recounted tiredly as the three gasped. “I got very little sleep but she hasn't had another issue and that’s what’s important.
“Explains why I haven’t seen Dr. Jeon yet,” Mingi mumbled. “The longer before I see him the better.”
“I’m hoping after yesterday he’ll be treating you better.” You said with a yawn as you started to walk down the hall to start rounds. Your memories of the night were admittedly a little hazy. You were overtired and on the crash after the adrenaline drained from your system. You could just vaguely remember how shaken up Wonwoo was.
How shaken up Dr. Jeon was.
“Are you on my service today or just here for Eunbin’s case?”
“Both,” he said sheepishly.
“Dr. Jeon is scary,” Yewon said. “I don’t blame you.”
“Well Dr. Song is a good surgeon, hopefully Dr. Jeon is starting to see that.” You said. “But of course you’re always welcome on my service.”
“Thank you,” he mumbled.
Rounds were thankfully uneventful after your long night. Nothing of note happened as you made your way through the pediatric ward, checking on patients. Eunbin had yet to wake up but after such a long night you weren’t surprised.
“She will wake up, right?” Her mother asked nervously.
“She should,” said Mingi, his voice hopefully.
“She’s been through a lot,” you said evenly. “Children are resilient, but even so she needs rest. So far, everything indicates that she should wake up just fine.”
Her parents pressed closer to each other, looking over her with concern. You wished there was a definitive answer but it was better not to make promises. You stuck to giving as much reasonable positivity as you could while you checked over her vitals and everything from the night before. You were confident she would wake up, it might just take a few hours more, especially when she had only been out of her second surgery for a few hours.
As you left the room Yewon’s pager went off and she took off down the hallway. You made your way over to the nurse’s station with Jieqiong and Mingi, looking over your schedule for the day.
“Jieqiong can you go and prep Minjun for his surgery?” you asked. “I know he’s a little nervous so it might take some extra time.”
“Of course,” she hummed. “I’ll meet you in the OR.”
You nodded to her before she headed off.
“Do you need me to do anything?” Mingi asked hopefully. Before you could answer, another voice cut in.
“Dr. Song, I have some aneurysms that need clipping today, I’m expecting you to assist me.”
The two of you turned to see Dr. Jeon approaching you. He handed Mingi a tablet as he addressed you. “I hope you don’t mind.”
You couldn’t quite hide your smile. “By all means, it’s good to get him working on brains.”
“Agreed,” Dr. Jeon sniffed. Even if his usual demeanor had returned he was taking more chances on Mingi and that was what you were hoping for. “Dr. Song, you can start prepping the first patient. You can assist for the first surgery and if you do well I may let you clip the next one.”
“I-I- Seriously?!” Mingi asked excitedly.
“Yes,” Dr. Jeon replied evenly. “Now go before I change my mind.”
“Okay! Yes, sir!” Mingi clutched the tablet to his chest, unable to stop the smile from spreading across his face as he took off towards the elevator gleefully. When Dr. Jeon looked back at you you were grinning at him.
“What?” He quipped.
“Nothing,” you giggled. “Nothing, at all.”
“Can I speak to you quickly?” He sighed, changing the subject.
“You’re talking right now,” you pointed out.
Dr. Jeon sighed. “I meant somewhere more- just follow me for a moment.”
You snickered to yourself as you followed him. He was clearly still tired out from last night and you couldn’t blame him. But if nothing else, he was taking the teaching part of his job a little more seriously and you considered that a win.
Dr. Jeon led you into the quiet stairwell and once the door swung shut he turned towards you.
“We need to talk about last night,” he said quietly, but with some sense of stress in his voice.
You tilted your head, a frown tugging at your lips. “It was a difficult night but Eunbin is stable-”
“I meant-” he seemed a little unsure of himself. “I know she’s doing alright now. But-”
You softened a little. “I’m not going to tell anyone about it. I know you were shaken, it happens. But it can stay between us.” You reassured him.
“Ah- thank you.” He mumbled. “That was- I’m feeling better this morning anyway.”
“Good.” you hummed. “And at any rate, you’ll be off the case now.”
“What?” He seemed genuinely surprised.
“That’s what you wanted,” you said. “Mr. Kwak said he could take over with neural exams, monitoring and any future surgeries so you don’t need to stay on the case.”
“I- Right.” He seemed to deflate a little.
“Are you alright?” You questioned.
“Yes, of course. I’m just- It’s fine. That’s for the best.”
“Okay then,” you nodded, checking your watch. “I should be going, I’ll be needed for surgery soon.” You started to step away but Dr. Jeon caught your wrist, looking at you and seeming even more unsure of himself.
“Hold on,” he said. “What about- Do you remember after? When…”
“Ah,” You dropped your gaze a little as the image played in mind, the way he’d pressed soft kisses to your lips, his hands on your waist, bodies cuddled together tiredly in a snug embrace. Even if the memory was hazy, it was there.
You just assumed he wouldn’t bring it up.
“It’s not a big deal,” you shrugged. “We were both tired, we both went through a lot of stress.” You looked up to meet his eye. “It doesn’t mean anything. What happens in the on-call room stays in the on-call room.”
“R-Right.”
You pager beeped and you glanced at it.
“I’m sorry, I really have to go.” You said before pulling away from him.
“Of course.”
“I’ll see you around, Dr. Jeon.”
“Yes. See you around.”
~
You rolled out your shoulders after placing your tray down on the table. You were beyond hungry for your late lunch, especially considering your lack of a proper breakfast this morning.
“Long morning?” Jihoon asked as he munched away on his lunch.
“Long night,” you said. “And early morning.”
“Was it that little girl?” Mingyu asked.
You nodded. “She had a brain bleed in the middle of the night so we had to rush her into a second surgery not long after the first one. And I’ve had cases this morning too. I’m just ready for a proper night's sleep.”
“Who are you on the case with?” Dongho asked.
“Dr. Jeon,” you said. Dongho and Mingyu made sounds of disapproval while Jihoon looked up.
“Speak of the devil.”
You looked up as well. Dr. Jeon was standing in the entrance to the cafeteria, looking towards you. You gave him a small smile and he glanced away, looking a little unsure of himself once again. It was very out of character and it was throwing you off a little. Was he still really shaken? Maybe you should talk with him more.
“He looks tired, too,” Mingyu remarked.
You hummed in response. “No doubt.” You watched him as he glanced back to your table quickly before finding a spot on his own. You mulled over Eunbin’s words from the other day. Maybe he didn’t have much in the way of friends. He certainly didn’t go out of his way to make them, that was for sure.
“I’m sure it’s a joy of a case, working with him,” Dongho said.
“He’s not so bad,” you remarked. “If you force him to take you seriously anyway. But he doesn’t want to stay on the case so Dr. Kwak is taking over.”
“That’ll be much smoother,” Dongho remarked.
“Most likely,” you sighed. It was probably easier this way but you did feel like on some level you had gotten through to him a little. He seemed a little subdued, though you were sure his bravado would return. Still, it was interesting seeing a side of him he hid so well.
All you could hope for was that he took something away from last night.
~
You perked up a bit as you made your way down the hall. It was late in the evening and most children were settling in to sleep, however there was a quiet din of talking coming from Eunbin’s room. After a long day it would be a very good thing to see her woken up.
You turned the corner to her bedroom and stopped, surprised to find Dr. Jeon at her bedside, talking calmly with her parents who were on the other side of her, holding onto her hand. Mingi stood next to him, pouring over her chart. Eunbin was blinking up at them, seeming a little dazed. You guessed she had just woken up.
For a moment you leaned against the doorframe, taking in the scene. You had no clue why Dr. Jeon was still here but you couldn’t deny the way it made you smile that he wanted to stay on the case after all. It was certainly doing him some good. Maybe after all this he’d be a little softer and less of an ass.
“You’re here!” Her mother caught sight of you. Mingi and Dr. Jeon whipped around to look at you. If you didn’t know any better you’d think Dr. Jeon had a slight flush on his cheeks, but it was likely just the warm lighting in the room.
“She just woke up,” Mingi smiled.
“That’s fantastic,” you smiled, approaching the bed. “Good evening, Eunbin. How are you feeling?” You asked her gently.
She just smiled at you, not saying anything. Her parents looked at her and then up to you hopefully. You could also feel Dr. Jeon’s eyes on you, concern filling the both of you,.
“Is she alright?” Her father asked nervously.
“She’s awake and that’s a really good sign. But she’s been asleep for a while and been through a lot. She may take more time to fully come around. Patience is key.”
They nodded before looking back down at Eunbin and speaking to her gently. She looked up at them and smiled, squeezing their hands in hers.
“Dr. Song, can I speak to you for a moment?”
“Of course,” Mingi followed you out into the hall and out of sight of anyone inside the room.
“I need you to go take the parents somewhere,” you said quietly.
“What? Why?” He looked confused.
“Dr. Jeon and I need to verify something and it’ll be easier if they left the room. And they’ve had a stressful time already. I don’t want to upset them unnecessarily.”
“A-Alright,” Mingi glanced back at the room. “Where should I take them, exactly?”
“It doesn’t matter,” you said. “I just need them out of earshot of the room for a few minutes.”
“O-Okay,” Mingi looked a little unsure but you were more preoccupied with Eunbin at the moment.
Mingi approached the parents as you reentered the room. “I just have- There’s some things I need to go over with you,” he said a little awkwardly. “Could you come with me for a moment?”
“Oh, of course,” he mother smiled. The two of them gave Eunbin’s hand one more squeeze before following Mingi from the room. As soon as they were far enough down the hall you met Dr. Jeon’s eye.
“Did you already do a neurological exam?”
“I did,” he hummed. “She’s responding fine, but…”
You looked down at Eunbin. The smile had dropped from her face. “How are you feeling?”
She didn’t answer.
“Eunbin, can you say something?”
She didn’t meet your eye as she shook her head and you could see her eyes starting to water. You caught the panic in Dr. Jeon’s eyes but you bent down next to her, grasping her hands.
“It’s okay,” you said calmly. “We have some good news for you. And then I have a few questions and you can just shake or nod your head, okay?”
Eunbin sniffed and nodded.
You looked up to Dr. Jeon, beckoning him closer. He hesitated before coming down to the level of Eunbin’s bed.
“Why don’t you tell her about her surgery?” You said.
You were sure he was blushing a little as Eunbin looked at him expectantly.
“I- Well your surgery went well.” His gaze flickered to you. “We got the whole tumour out.”
A smile broke out across Eunbin’s face and she tugged at his sleeve excitedly. He seemed to get even more flustered and you had to admit that it was cute.
“Y-You will still have some more treatments. Hopefully it won’t come back. You did…” He looked at you, unsure. You nodded to him, hoping he would keep his words gentle. “There was- you had a bit of-” You could see the stress taking over his features as Eunbin’s smile dropped and she started to look worried. “That is- We-”
You squeezed Eunbin’s hand. “You gave us a bit of a scare last night,” you said, drawing her attention away from Dr. Jeon before he scared her. “You had a bit of trouble right after the surgery but Dr. Jeon got you all patched up.” Eunbin nodded slowly.
“Now, is anything hurting too much?”
She shook her head.
“Can you speak at all?”
Reluctantly, she nodded.
“Eunbin, will you let us hear? It will help us to help you better.”
She looked between you and Dr. Jeon nervously before opening her mouth. You watched her lips form the words “I can’t” but the sound that came out was far from it, sounding more like a groan than the words she was trying to form. Eunbin started to blink back tears again at the sound.
“Thank you,” you said, “Thank you for letting us hear.”
“It will get better,” Dr. Jeon added. “It can… It might take a while but you should be able to speak again.”
“Eunbin, did this happen last time?”
She nodded.
“Was it like this?”
She didn’t answer.
“Was it worse?”
No.
“Was it better?”
Yes.
“Okay,” you glanced at Dr. Jeon. “We’ll have someone come work with you on your speech. In the meantime we’ll find something to help you communicate, alright?”
Eunbin nodded as you stood up. The footsteps of her parents and Mingi coming back down the hallway. She tugged on your sleeve sharply. You looked down to see her worry.
“We’ll explain to them,” you said. “Just relax okay?”
She nodded.
Dr. Jeon and you met her parents at the door.
“We have good news and bad news.” You said quietly. “Let’s step out of the room for a moment”
“What’s going on? What’s wrong?” Her father asked nervously.
“Firstly,” you said. “Her mental abilities seem to be intact. She did well on her neurological exam, but there is an issue with her speech.”
“What issue?” Her mother worried.
“It’s happened before,” Dr. Jeon jumped in, his composure much more intact while talking with adults. “During her previous surgery she lost some speech function but was able to regain it with speech therapy. At the moment she’s having a lot of trouble speaking but over time it should improve just as it did before.”
“S-So she can’t speak?” Her father asked.
“It’s temporary,” you reassured them. “Right now, she needs your support and reassurance. And with help she will get better.”
They seemed to process the information.
“It’s late,” you said. “A lot has happened. We’ll give you some peace ad quiet and tomorrow the speech therapist will visit. For now, just get some rest.
They nodded, saying quiet goodnights and heading back into Eunbin’s room. You looked at Dr. Jeon with a sigh. It wasn’t a perfect outcome, but it wasn’t an awful one either.
“Dr. Song, please go check on our post ops before leaving.”
“Yes, sir,” Mingi nodded before heading towards the elevator. You wandered to a quieter part of the hallway with Dr. Jeon.
“I thought you were leaving the case.” You said, finally feeling a bit of a sense of calm.
“I like to see things through.” He said matter-of-factly.
“Mhm,” you hummed.
“You think it’s something else?”
You grinned at him. “I think she’s growing on you.”
He rolled his eyes. “I don’t need to offload onto Dr. Kwak when I’m available to oversee her post op.”
“She is growing on you, isn’t she?” You giggled.
“She’s not unpleasant,” he sniffed.
“I knew it,” you smiled even wider. “You like being on this peds case. After all your whining-”
“I was not whining!”
“You were too whining!” You snorted. “You made such a huff.”
“You’re exaggerating,” you noticed the hint of a smile on his lips.
“Mhm, sure,” you said. “But I’m not the one that threw a hissy fit.”
“Please,” he said. “Eunbin is a good kid. I can admit that much. And you-” He stopped as he met the grin on your face.
“What am I?” You asked.
“You’re… fine.” He said.
“Not as insufferable as you thought, huh?” You giggled.
“Something like that,” he muttered, trying not to smile.
You stopped as you reached the end of the hall.
“Thank you for taking a chance on Dr. Song.” You said. “I know my methods of getting him to assist were-”
“I almost threw you both out of the OR,” He said.
“I know,” you countered. “But you didn’t. I hope you see the value in teaching him.”
“He’s,” Dr. Jeon sighed. “He has a long way to go. But his hands are steady. And he seems to know what to do when he’s not floundering.” Dr. Jeon pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’ll need to train him to have more confidence in his choices or he’ll choke as an attending.”
“Luckily, you have time to do that,” you said brightly.
“Lucky me,” he sighed in a way that made you laugh.
“Are you on call tonight?” You asked.
“I am,” he said, “Though I really hope nothing happens so I can get some sleep. You?”
You shook your head. “I’m heading home.”
“Well then, I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said.
You nodded. “See you tomorrow.” You turned to head towards the stairs, only getting a few steps away before hearing your given name.
“Goodnight.” He called after you.
You smiled to yourself as you heart warmed a little. “Goodnight, Wonwoo.”

Waging wars to shake the poet and the beat
I hope it's gonna make you notice
“…I’m in the military, sir…”
“…James, that’s my father, okay? If anything, let’s just be glad he didn’t kill you. He’s like that with everyone…And the soldier thing, he’s weird about that. I’m not sure why…”
Bucky lies awake in bed, fluffy pillow behind his head and one leg peeking out from the blankets, as random memories knack away at his brain in pulses. They weren’t new memories, but they were memories that he never looked at the way he was now.
He doesn’t know why now, he doesn’t know what triggered it, but they were clicking together.
After years of replaying the same moments in his head, there was a nagging feeling that was telling him that there was something not adding up.
He doesn’t know if it’s because he’s seeing things differently, if he’s feeling things differently.
Whatever it was, he knew there was something…off.
There was something off about Daisy’s story about her dad’s story, something was off about the way he was against Bucky fighting in the military, and her death was coinciding so much with his capture.
He doesn’t like the feeling in his stomach as he remembers.
When Bucky asked about her brother and what that whole commotion back at the club was she was blatantly honest with him.
“My father’s not a good guy. He’s been wanting some something from one of these performers that was suppose to be there last night, but turns out they weren’t even on the set list. He had lied about it, we don’t know where he is.”
Bucky raises a brow at this, “You do his dirty work for him?”
“No, I don’t like to get involved in that. It’s a dangerous lifestyle. I have to think about my future family. I was only there yesterday because my brother wanted to get me out of the house for once.”
Bucky isn’t too gleam on the fact that her family are borderline criminals and that she basically supports it, and for a fraction of a second he almost doesn’t buy it, but he decides to mention this later on, not wanting to ruin their moment.
Bucky shifts his leg as he continues to remember that conversation. Why was he not against it? Why did he never question the crimes? Was he that distracted by her?
Bucky smiles at her comment, but then his brows furrowed together in an adorable way that made Daisy giggle and bring her hand to his cheek, “What is it, James?”
What is it, James?
Bucky looks over to see you laying next to him, sat up with your back against the headboard reading some book with a beige cover.
You hadn’t taken notice of his self discomfort yet, emerged in your reading, tucking your bottom lip into your mouth.
Why was he remembering all of this now? Why was he feeling sick?
When they pulled away she slowly dragged her thumb across his plump bottom lip. He watched her like she was the most gorgeous and interesting thing on the planet.
“James?” He responded with a sound on confirmation and she continued, “do you think we are moving too fast?”
He grabbed her hand that was on his face and for a fraction of a moment she thought that that was it, they were over. This was clearly too unrealistic. But instead he brought her hand up over both his lips and he kissed her gingerly.
“Yes.” He whispered behind her hand, making sure he was making direct eye contact with her.
Her face dropped. “Yes?” Her voice was worried, cautious.
He started trailing kisses down her hand, her wrist, her forearms. He leaned down and kissed the side of her neck making her groan.
It wasn’t that Daisy didn’t like being pampered but she wanted to take this very seriously. With a reluctant sigh - because what he was doing to her flesh just felt so good - she delicately removes her arm from Bucky’s grasp. He narrowed his eyes as she moved away towards the head board, suddenly wondering if maybe he said the wrong thing.
Her eyes trickled his features and down his perfect little nose.
“I knew it since the moment I laid my eyes on you. That’s how you know it’s real. This isn’t crazy, it’s ludicrous. But it works for us. I want to be with you.”
After his little speech Daisy looked him dead in the eye, not batting one lash.
“Then come have dinner with my family.”
Was it too fast? He had barely known her and she was asking him to meet her family. Criminals.
But why would she give away such dire information if it were true?
Bucky sat up slowly, as if if he were to move too quickly, the bed would collapse underneath him.
His eyes had a far away look in him, and he was as pale as he felt.
You feel him shift and your eyes flicker up to him.
You frown.
Her blue eyes glisten with gentle tears, probably thinking the same exact thing. None of it still feels real.
Her, she, doesn’t feel real.
They spent nearly every night together just talking about what Bucky would do when he came back home after camp. Things like how they would have to go see the stars on the back of an outskirts farmhouse, how they would have to go to every club in the city and laugh their night away, how he would take her to coney island with him and Steve and show her a “good time” on the ferris wheel, and how they would definitely have to meet her family.
“They’re great, you’ll love them.” She had said as they laid in bed together just hours before, merely cuddling with clothes on.
“Oh, come on doll, even your Dad?”
Daisy hesitated for a moment and her hand that was rubbing his chest stopped suddenly.
Bucky noted this and they met eyes.
Bucky feels his heart palpitate and he opens and closes his right hand, sitting up.
“Bucky, what’s wrong?” You ask softly, closing your book.
“Dad has been gone for four weeks and I don’t know why. Jimmy has gone with him- it’s just me and mother. I overheard her saying something about Germany but I’m not quite sure.. Or maybe it was something else. Though none of that matters to me, James- I want you. Please come home to me.”
For some reason, a chill ran down his back as he reread the words “something about Germany”.
Like an awful memory that has never happened, he sees a child in front of him. It was a little girl and she screamed in agony for mercy. She was getting strangled to death by his own hand, a silver glint caught his eye-
“James!”
“Bucky.”
Your voice pulls him out of his trance for just a moment.
He looks up to you, your eyes interlacing in a silent conversation of understanding.
He was revealing something to himself and you could tell that whatever that was it was leaving him overcome by feelings.
At the end of the day, he knows that he’s just insanely protective of Steve. Which is why his arm instinctively goes around him when Rogers almost gets hit by a speeding vehicle that abruptly stops to halt in front of them on the curb. With his mind far away, he hadn’t realized they were already standing on the sidewalk in front of one bright sign labeled Cotton Club.
Had Bucky known better, he would’ve had him on his left.
After that introduction, the two boys look over to the object that almost killed them.
It was pure black, the countless lights coming from the surrounding buildings and cars bouncing off its surface. The rain must’ve made it even shinier, the lights made a reflection so bright that it had everyone staring. Men looked in awe and a young paper boy, standing on the corner working over time, wondered if that would someday be his future.
With a look of disgust, Steve was repulsed by the obscurity of the man’s driving having nearly hit him. He wondered why people had no respect and he desperately wanted to punch his face in. Either that or give him a pep talk about general safety.
“What a twit.” He snarls, dusting off his small suspenders and kicking the invisible debris off his lapels.
Bucky’s face held something different. It explained why the woman staring had looked on in pure jealousy. He stared forward completely emotionless. He was neither annoyed at the fact that he almost just got run over and killed and nor in obsession over the Duesenberg J.
It was the beautiful goddess emerging from the passenger seat that caught his full attention.
On her left hand was a pearl and diamond bracelet and she used it to skim over the top of the priceless car door for leverage to push herself gracefully up from the leather seat. Her other hand was wrapped up in a prestige white glove. It held onto the hem of her silver sparkling gown, a long white cigar between her digits. Her gorgeous dress looked heavy, you could tell it was so properly made and expensive because it must’ve weighed as much as her petite self. The reason being that it hugged her body at just the perfect places, showing off her curves gracefully.
Her perfect blonde hair was pulled slick back by a diamond hair clip to the side in huge voluminous waves. The dress showed just enough back, the material dipping down towards the floor, the dip ending just above her bottom. The entire thing was held by two tiny silver straps on her shoulders.
In a sentimental Mood by Duke Ellington seemed to have played perfectly in sync with the exact moment she shut the door behind her. She looked up to read the sign, her perfect profile looking up in awe.
Bucky stands up from the bed, back rigid and face hard with anger.
No.
It couldn’t be.
He swallows thickly, gaze going towards you again.
He doesn’t know why he keeps looking at you.
Ironically, beneath his anger and betrayal, he also began to feel embarrassment.
He’s momentarily startled out of his trance when he feels a small hand grab his elbow.  He looks down and his eyes meet a small concerned Steve. Well, to be fairly honestly, he looked more pissed than concerned.
Bucky doesn’t feel the patience to deal with talking anything out, he’s too busy thinking about Daisy. But he feels like he should at least say something so he can get everyone off his back, “What is it?”
Steve looks at him likes he’s crazy and then manically gestures towards the entrance of the club, probably pointing to where Daisy just left through.
“Bucky, what the heck was that? Who was that? You know her?”
“I didn’t know her. No.” Bucky doesn’t realize he’s saying it out loud.
He’s shaking his head to himself, mumbling.
“Bucky, who are you talking to?” You’re growing even more concerned by the second now.
The silence was broken by his strong voice.
“You’re real.”
She smiles in a way that makes him smile too. It was contagious and bright. He caresses her skin one more time.
He felt her own hand come over his and she whispers, “I’m real.”
“Not real.”
You are more than concerned at this point.
“What are you talking about?”
“Maybe it was the fact that my body had finally developed into a women’s body. My breasts were now fully perked and my legs were long and porcelain gorgeous; all I knew was they figured I could be put to good use.”
He shook his head and Bucky blinked away heavy tears.“I-“
The pretty woman rolled her eyes and crossed her legs, revealing a long slit that ran up her dress. It was just enough skin for Bucky’s hand to get sweaty.
He waited until the perfect opportunity when the man had walked towards the direction of the stage, making his way into the back behind the curtain.
“It wasn’t real.”
“You do his dirty work for him?”
“It wasn’t real.”
“My father’s not a good guy.”
Bucky remembers them poking him with IV drops and then sticking his head in a blender. His owns screams fill his head. It was so painful.
“Reason unknown, ongoing investigation"
“I wasn’t going to let you keep her. She enticed you. She won you. It was always supposed to be you.”
“…blonde 21 year old was found shot…”
“Daisy,” he whispered. He traced her features with his hand, and just like that the fear escaped his eyes, and instead of scared he was now feeling complete love and he was ready because knew this is what he wanted forever. He wanted her, “Will you marry me?”
“…Her family has been under investigation after her father’s disappearance —…”
“But you jeopardized it, Soldat. It wasn’t real.”
The memories are sucked out of him like a vacuum and his dark eyes meet yours, again, across the bed.
You had never seen his pupils so blown before.
You were terrified.
Your eyes go down to his flesh hand that is twitching against his thigh.
“Bucky.” You say cautiously, one more time. It was almost like you were afraid to get closer to him.
“I—“ his voice was hoarse.
He looks away and clears his throat. He blinks away the heavy daze, allowing it all to sink in until it settles in his stomach in a surprising pool of acceptance.
He sees you again and for some reason he feels okay.
It scares him.
It scared him how you took something that had been bothering him for so long, away that quickly.
In that moment he knows.
“I remembered something.” Your eyebrows came together suddenly. Nearly moments ago he looked heartbroken but now he just looked shocked and angry.
“What did you remember? I thought you had your memories back. In Wakanda.”
“I-I did,” he squeaks out running a hand through his hair, “maybe I’m just remembering differently, or adding pieces together, I don’t know, I can’t tell. It has to be, because it makes sense. It makes so much sense now, and I can’t—and she—”
“Bucky you’re rambling,” he stops and you continue to look at each other. His face drops all traces of anger and it softens, “Talk to me, I’m right here.” You whisper.
Bucky looks down at you and nods. No hesitancy.
“Give me your hands.” You say, reaching for him. He doesn’t hold back from doing so, and once you have his hands in yours, you pull him up onto the bed so he’s kneeling on it next to you.
Bucky takes a few minutes to compose himself before he says it:
“I think Daisy and her family were Hydra.” He says it like he’s afraid of his own words.
As if every word in that phrase was a curse word.
Somehow, it relieves him.
His chest feels light, shoulders worn. He can breathe.
+ + +
“I should’ve known it was too fast. Too perfect,” you’re also stunned as he tells you everything, his hands still in yours, “but—but I don’t think she was always hydra. I think she wanted out when I was captured and they killed her for it.”
You don’t deny it, that hurts. Despite never knowing the girl and secretly holding envy for her, it pains you.
“Oh, Bucky.”
He shakes his head, eyebrows furrowing together.
“But it was a lie. She enticed me, she fucking—“ Bucky sucks in a deep breath, “she was trying to lure me in. There was nothing real about it.” He says the word like it’s venom on his lips.
You feel him rub his thumb over the back of your hand.
“You don’t know that -”
He shakes his head again, “She was Hydra!” He doesn’t say it angrily as much as he says it in a way to announce it to himself.
He needed to say it out loud. He needed to let it sink in.
You watch Bucky as he becomes completely numb, and somehow free, in front of you.
For some reason you expected more heartbreak from him for discovering something so horrible about a woman he claimed he loved so much, a woman he wanted to marry, but instead all you got from him was anger and acceptance.
Little did you know, Bucky was in the same boat as you.
Why wasn’t he as heat shattered as he’d expect?
“I-“ he’s speechless as he looks around, trying to find something, but he does’t know what.
You think you’re more shocked than him and you quickly grab his arm, bringing him against you for a tight hug.
He hugs you back immediately, hand running up your shoulder blade and onto the back of your hair.
Minutes pass by. Many minutes.
“It was all a lie,” he whispers still holding onto. you, “All of it. I really was alone. I thought I finally had someone, but—It wasn’t real.”
You don’t know what to say as you run your hand up the back of his head.
It’s not until you pull him in tighter that he realizes it.
It was you.
You were there reason this didn’t hurt as much as he thought it would. His heart no longer wanted to be with someone who was long gone.
It wanted to stay here.
Here.
He never thought he would ever feel this way ever again, and he never thought he would trust this hard ever again.
Realizing truth relived him of buried pain, and he wanted you to keep holding him, to keep helping him go through this.
He says your name softly.
“Yes?”
“I want to talk about everything.”
You stiffen for a moment as you let his words sink in. You weren’t exactly sure what he was talking about.
“What are you talking about?” You ask.
“All of it. Everything that I did. I need to get it out, I can’t keep doing this, holding it in, keeping it inside —”
The euphoria through your blood is addicting.
“Tell me.”
He loved slow dancing.
He loved the Yankees.
He loved math and Howard Stark.
He went to the Stark Expo every year.
He loved The Hobbit and he loved jazz.
He loved New York City.
He loved Brooklyn the most.
He misses flat hats.
He loved telling jokes.
His mother died when he was young.
His sister was taken away from him.
He cried when he couldn’t see her.
His father died not too long after.
He never enlisted despite his love for the military.
He was drafted.
He experienced World War II but on the enemy side.
He fought with Hitler’s and Hydra’s men.
He was loved by the KGB.
He loved Prague.
He trained the girls in the red room.
He remembers every young girl.
He was told to kill four kids on a mission once in Bucharest.
He was tormented, beaten raw, and kept in a concrete cell between cryo periods.
He was only occasionally fed, most years spent asleep.
He was treated like an animal. They tied him to the wall once in the cell, with a chain around his neck.
He was brain washed.
He was sexually assaulted by Hydra.
He doesn’t remember if he was raped, which could be his brain’s way of protecting himself from more trauma.
He reminds you that loved Howard Stark.
He killed Howard Stark.
He killed Maria Stark.
He was the one that stole the super soldier serum from the Stark’s and provided it to Hydra.
He was the fist of Hydra.
He killed many other good men. Over two dozen assassinations.
He killed JFK.
He never wanted to do any of it.
He remembers all of it.
They named him a hero on the Wall of Valor before S.H.I.E.L.D fell.
He was taken into Wakanda, freed of his trigger words.
He still loved New York City.
He was pardon him, despite everything.
They named him an Avenger.
He remembers it all.
You’re laying down facing each other and you continue to watch him as he tells you everything.
It’s one of the most surreal experiences of your life and you find yourself in total awe.
This was the Bucky Barnes you had been longing to see. This was the man you knew was hidden beneath layers of hurt and anger.
You had seen it before he even told you.
The fact that he even trusted you enough to be this transparent with you is what makes you so happy.
His eyes brightened as he played with a string on the blanket between you.
“And Friends,” his voice is small and there’s a little smile on his mouth. Your heart swells as you watch it, “I love Friends.”
You bite your tongue as you smile.
Bucky stared at you, just as amazed at himself as he was at you. He couldn’t believe he told it all to you.
It was as if Daisy’s image had begun to dissolve and he was finally seeing clearly.
He didn’t hate you. He never hated you.
His fingers peak out slowly to take a hold of your pinky.
It was the opposite. He wanted you.
He feels himself breaking when you pull away from his touch. His smile falls.
“I’m proud of you,” you say quietly, sitting up again, “For finally talking about it.” You mean it, “Thank you.”
It takes him a few seconds to eventually look away and he turns onto his back. Bucky drapes an arm over his stomach, letting out a long breath of contentment.
He felt free.
To do what?
He looks over at you again as you pull your book back out.
This. This is what freedom got him. You.
But it you weren’t his. He clears his throat.
“How are things with your boyfriend?”
You don’t like talking about Pietro with Bucky.
“It’s fine,” you answer anyway, “We only had one date. And I got sick, so hopefully the next one will be better.”
Bucky swallows thickly. Why was he feeling like this? He should be happy for you. You wanted this. You deserved this.
“What do you plan to do when it’s time for us both to leave and go back?” He asks.
You don’t miss the way he mentions both of you to leave and your eyes quickly flicker to him.
“I don’t know yet,” you say hoarsely, filled with unexpected relief.
+ + +
Bucky doesn’t remember experiencing this kind of happiness since he was nineteen and him and Steve went to go see a baseball game after scoring a date with two pretty girls on the F train.
He’s happy.
Ashen peaks up at him from behind dark lashes, smiling so hard his eyes peak up at the side, turning them into thin slits. Bucky’s aren’t too far off as he mimics the boy’s laughter.
“Connect four?” Bucky asks, chuckling.
“Yeah, you’ve gotta try it. It’s so fun.” The Ashens says happily, pulling out the little game from underneath his bed. Bucky wants to ask him why he has it hidden, but he doesn’t. He just reminds him that they need to stay quiet, “plus, it’s the only game I have anyway. But it’s fun Mr. Bucky.”
“Haha, alright lets try it.” Bucky says.
They sit across from each other on the floor, setting up the little game and dividing their colored chips. Ashen’s goes first, dropping in a yellow one.
Bucky picks up a red one with his flesh hand and drops it right next to the yellow. They continue for a bit until Ashens notices Bucky isn’t connecting his colors.
“No, you have to try to get a straight line and connect it!” He laughs, “you suck at this."
“Oh, no! What did I do?” Bucky exclaims, laughing.
“You’re not very smart for an Avenger.” Ashens remarks.
“Okay,” Bucky points at him playfully, smiling, “That’s mean.”
“I’m sorry but it is true.”
“Cut me some slack.” Bucky says, smiling.
They play for a little longer until Ashens ends up beating him.
Bucky sticks his tongue out at the boy, but smiles. He eventually caught on to the game and let him win. But he doesn’t need to know that.
“Mr. Bucky,” Ashen says after he slides the game back under his head. He brings his legs up to his chest and hugs them, "Will you tell me now why you are here to save me?”
Bucky licks his lip and sighs. He looks out Ashens' high rise window and then back to him again. “Not yet.”
“Should I be afraid.”
“No. I won’t let anything happen you. I promise.”
Ashens doesn’t say anything as he lets his Mike Wazowski slippers hit each other.
“Do you have any kids? Like my age?”
The question surprises Bucky, and for a moment a feeling of longing hits him. “No. I don’t.”
“Aww okay.”
Bucky stares at Ashens little sad face and his heart breaks.
“I always wanted to, though,” Bucky whispers, “But that was years ago.”
“When you were in world war one?”
Bucky smiles.
“Two, not one, but yeah,” it’s not a lie, Bucky knows that if his loved would’ve went a different way, he would have definitely had kids. To know he could never go back to such simplicity broke his heart, “Something like that.”
There was something, that even so many months later, still bothered Bucky. It was something so small, and it probably didn’t really affect you as much as it affected him, but it was something you said to him.
It was one of your many fights and the way you had spatted at him about buying you plan B after you had sex.
He didn’t want to burden you. What you two had done had been irresponsible. An atmosphere like this was no place and time for an unwanted baby.
You weren’t ready for one, let alone his.
At the time, it wasn’t that he wouldn’t want the baby, if you were to have gotten pregnant, he would have loved that child with everything. He was thinking about you.
He hated to think that he gave you that pill as a gesture to say that he wanted nothing to do with you.
If so, you were wrong.
He wanted you to be happy, just smart.
He cared about you.
And now, possibly more.
As he continues to watch Ashens giggling over his slippers, that feeling of longing washes over Bucky again.
He knows he needs to tell you.
+ + +
You still weren’t feeling well. Maybe it was your nerves. The end of the mission was getting closer by each day and you never expected you’d have to leave with a little kid. You still hadn’t met Ashens, but Bucky says he’s a delight.
Ashens has changed him. You took notice immediately and it made you happy. This whole experience would be good for him.
After Bucky had poured out his heart to you, you knew you needed to get away again. That was the dance now. You get pulled, you take a step back. You couldn’t let yourself go there anymore, no matter how hard it was.
Pietro would be the driving force to help you.
You just wish Bucky would stop doing things that he probably realized he wasn’t even doing. The way he touches your face and your hand, or some times the way he looks at you, was not appropriate for two fuck buddies who stopped…fucking.
You were still convinced that he wanted you two to go your separate ways at the end of this mission. Him indirectly saying he was going to walk out with you made you happy, it could’ve been Ashens that helped him have a change of heart, whatever it was, this thing between you had to dissolve anyway.
You couldn’t keep doing that to himself, even when he would blur your lines.
You really wished he would stop doing that.
That night you after the ball, you were almost sure that he was developing feelings for you - finally - it’s why you tried to get him to finally tell you why the kiss bothered him.
Bucky never told you the truth, and you were too tired to keep digging.
You were glad that was the last time.
It was over. All of it was over.
Your stomach churns again and you decide to make yourself some tea and head to bed.

St. Patrick’s night II
Tumblr media
Murphy MacManus x Reader
Summary:  You’re left alone on St. Patrick’s night, the people you were supposed to hang out with  seemingly having forgotten you, but what seemed to be an awful night turns into something completely different when you meet the MacManus twins.
Another chapter for this thing that was supposed to be a one-shot but got out of hand. It starts the morning after St.Patrick.
Tumblr media
The next day at work, you couldn’t stop your mind from wandering to the MacManus twins, to how much fun you had with them…and especially to Murphy kissing you, the memory and thoughts had kept you awake for most of the night.
You still weren’t sure if he’d been just messing around, kissing you just for fun, because it was St. Patrick’s, or if it might mean something else…you two had just met, though, didn’t know each other, so you knew you shouldn’t be giving it so much thought.
You couldn’t help it, though, just like you couldn’t help the butterflies that the kiss had made you feel. Murphy was attractive, sure he was, but he was also charming, and fun, and…and there you went again, with that silly smile tugging at your lips and those butterflies fluttering in your belly. You tried to stop it, you didn’t want your asshole coworkers to notice that smile on your face.
They hadn’t said anything about yesterday, how they had gone out without you after telling you they’d call you and take you with them, but you had noticed a couple of them talking quietly to each other and looking in your direction.
You were acting as if you hadn’t cared or waited for them. Part of you, though, a big part, wished that you could somehow let them know that you hadn’t been moping alone at home, but that you had actually gone to an Irish pub with two handsome Irish guys, and had kissed one of them who by the way was very attractive. It might be petty, but you really wished you could rub it on their faces, since they were unabashedly talking behind your back, and also telling each other how fun their night had been.
You guessed you’d settle for just ignoring them.
Part of you also couldn’t stop thinking if Murphy and Connor would really call you to go out with them again, or if they wouldn’t think on you anymore…but Murphy had seemed to want to see you again, he had gotten your number…you didn’t care if he didn’t kiss you anymore, you wanted to hang out with him and his brother more. Well, okay, you cared a bit about him wanting to kiss you again or not, and what it might mean, but you tried not to obsess with it. Tried.
You also tried not to have high hopes on the brothers calling you, in case they didn’t, but still, as soon as you were back home from work, you couldn’t stop yourself from running to your phone to check if you had any voicemail…you hadn’t. You let out a sigh, part of you telling you that it was normal, they had work too, and other part warning you to keep your expectations low.
Not much later, though, you were curled up on the sofa, browsing through the tv to try and find something you might like, when your phone rang and you jumped off the sofa and towards it so fast that you’d have been embarrassed by yourself, but you couldn’t care, picking up the phone.
“Hi?”
“Hey, it’s Murphy, from last night.”
“Yes, I remember, uh…how are you?” You cringed at yourself a bit, talking by phone wasn’t your thing, and you didn’t know what to say.
“I’m great, love, and ye?”
“I’m good too, thanks.”
“My brother and I are goin’ to Mc.Ginty’s, the pub from last night, wanna come?”
“Yes…yes, sure I want!” You wondered if you sounded too eager, but you couldn’t help it, you were happy that the brothers wanted to keep hanging with you, that Murphy had phoned you, and those damn butterflies were in your belly again.
“Great, want us to pick ye somewhere?”
“No, no need.” You didn’t want the brothers to have to go out of the way again for you. “I’ll take a cab there, just tell me the street.”
“Ye sure?” Murphy wasn’t sounding very sure himself.
“Yes, it’s fine.” You assured him, and then you heard some muffled voices as if the brothers were talking to each other, before Connor’s voice spoke to you that time.
“Ain’t like he doesn’t trust ye won’t get lost again, lass.” He sounded teasing, and you couldn’t help your snort even if you were a bit embarrassed. You heard what seemed the noise of Murphy hitting his twin and more muffled words, and then his voice again.
“Sorry about that.”
“It’s okay, you’re not wrong.” You chuckled, you knew that you still didn’t know the city well. “But it’s fine, just tell me the name of the street and I’ll be there, can’t get too lost if I’m in a cab.”
“Ye sure, love? We don’t mind pickin’ ye up.”
“I’m sure, Murphy.”
“Alright…”
Murphy gave you not only the address of the pub but also the phone number, just in case. On one hand, you were a bit embarrassed that they thought you might not be able to get there by yourself, but on the other, you appreciated that they seemed to care.
You rushed to get ready, putting a bit more effort than you’d do in your regular day, but not going out of your way like the night before. Once you were ready, you got a cab and made your way to the pub, looking through the window, trying to see if you recognized something, and you did, first the street where Murphy had taken you to get a cab the night before, then the pub’s street as the cab parked at the outside of it.
You thanked and paid the driver and made your way to the pub. Your silly smile was back on your face when you noticed that Murphy was outside. You wondered if he was waiting for you, but maybe he’d just wanted to get some air…
As you made your way to him, you couldn’t help the nervous twirls in your belly. You weren’t sure of how to act around him after he’d kissed you last night, but you tried to tell yourself that he’d been probably just messing with you, and he’d kissed you because it was St. Patrick’s.
Murphy’s eyes found you and when he grinned, your silly smile grew bigger and the nervous twirls of your belly mixed with the butterflies…you tried to control it, not wanting to embarrass yourself.
“Hey, love,” he greeted you, and his grin lighted his face in such a pretty way that you felt you needed to kick your brain so it’d keep working. “Ye made it.”
“Wasn’t too hard considering the cab dropped me right there.” You chuckled shyly, nodding towards the end of the street.
Murphy smirked and nodded, placing his hand on the small of your back, making your skin feel like it was tingling, to walk you into the pub. “Connor’s waiting inside.”
You were surprised by the number of people in there, it wasn’t full by any means, but there were way more people than the night before, talking and laughing together as they drank.  There was even a waitress that you hadn’t seen the night before, smiling and talking to Connor, who was sat down by the bar, as she got him a shot before going to get drinks to more people.
“That’s a lot of people…” You said aloud, and Murphy looked at you and chuckled, arching an eyebrow, and you wondered, mortified, if you sounded like you’d never been to a pub before or something. “I mean, it was almost empty last night.”
“Yeah, rush hour,” Murphy explained, and you nodded, it’d been quite late when you’d finally decided to go out last night, and even later when you got to the pub, which you had noticed the next morning when you almost overslept your alarm. “Wait until you come on the weekend.”
“It’s everyone Irish here?” You asked, feeling a bit out of place. The twins had explained to you that this was an Irish neighborhood, where they also lived.
“Not everyone, but most of them…good people,” Murphy told you, looking around with a fond smile, and you couldn’t help your own smile at it.
“Hey, lass!” Connor greeted you, smiling, once you reached him.
“Nice to see you again.” You smiled as you sat down on a stool next to the twins.
“My brother was waitin’ for ye outside like he could summon ye with the power of his mind,” Connor smirked, looking at Murphy, who scoffed and clipped his twin on the head.
You knew Connor was joking and trying to embarrass his brother, but his words fed the butterflies in your belly nonetheless. “Well, I’m sure that’s the reason why I arrived here with no problem, and not because the cab driver knew the address and the way here,” you joked back, but you smiled at Murphy.
The waitress approached you all again, and she smiled as she rolled her eyes at the twins. “I don’t know how both of ye have any brain left, hittin’ each other on the head all the time.”
“That’s what ma’ used to say,” Murphy said, grinning…he was rather adorable, you found yourself thinking.
“Murph doesn’t have much brain left, I’m afraid…” Connor joked, pretending to sound mournful, and earning another shove from his brother.
The waitress chuckled before smiling at you. “What can I get ye, sweetheart?”
“Uh…whatever they’re having.” You shrugged, you didn’t know what you wanted.
“Okay…don’t let them get you drunk!” The waitress joked as she poured your drinks.
“We ain’t gonna!” Murphy protested.
“If anythin’, it’d be her fault if she can’t handle her alcohol like an Irish!” Connor joked, smiling at you.
“Yeah…I have a feeling that’s gonna be the case…” You chuckled.
It did seem that it was going to be the case, as the MacManus drowned their first and then second drink while you still had drunk just half of yours. Your initial nerves and awkwardness dissipated as the brothers talked.
Hearing them speak, it might seem as if the job in a meatpacking factory was the most entertaining thing in the world, but it was probably only because they were retelling you things about it, and you had the feeling both brothers got up to trouble at work, but they were rather adorable while talking about it.
“So, lass, did yer coworkers say somethin’ ‘bout last night?” Connor asked you, and you shrugged, looking down at your drink.
“Not really… not an apology if that’s what you’re asking…I heard them talking to each other about what they’d been doing and whatnot, but I just pretended that I didn’t care….whatever…”
It was not that you wished you had gone with them, you much rather be with the MacManus, but the fact that they stood you up on purpose and said nothing, and then talked about the night without caring if you heard them, annoyed you. You were a bit surprised when you felt Murphy’s hand squeezing your own.
“They’re just pricks,” he told you. “Those fuckers ain’t worthy, love.”
“I know they’re not.”  You couldn’t help your smile as you looked at Murphy. “I’m glad they didn’t bother on calling me so I met you both, you guys are way better than them…like, by far…” You felt a bit shy at saying that aloud, but you were in fact glad to have met the brothers, who looked like they enjoyed hanging out with you, and so you wanted to say it aloud.
“Thanks, love.” Murphy gave you that smile that gave you the butterflies and made you wonder once more how he could be so handsome.
“It’s the truth.” You smiled bashfully. “I just wish that I could, like, let them know that I wasn’t alone waiting for them, that I went out and met you two and had fun, and…yeah…” You chuckled, feeling a bit self-conscious, you still thought it was a petty thought but you couldn’t help it.
“Why ye didn’t just tell them?” Connor asked you, chuckling too. If the twins thought that your reaction was petty, it didn’t show.
“I don’t know…dunno how.” You shrugged. “Like, do I go and say, hey, I went out and made friends with two Irish guys and we had more fun than either of you all assholes had?”
Connor chuckled again, and Murphy snorted. “Yeah, love, right like that.”
You chuckled too but shook your head, you really didn’t see yourself doing that. Murphy was looking at you intently, making you feel a bit shy, though there was mischief in his eyes and it worried you a bit as you wondered what he was up to.
“What hour do you finish work, lass?” He asked you.
“Uh…five, why?”
Murphy smirked at his brother and told him something in a language you didn’t know, and you looked at them as they talked and stole glances at you, wondering what they were saying…it made you feel a bit nervous and out of place all of a sudden.
“I hope you’re not talking about me…” You half-joked awkwardly and  Connor snorted.
“Told ye it was rude,” he told to his brother, who clipped him on the head before looking at you.
“Nothin’ bad, love.” He smirked. “What if my brother and I go pick ye up from work tomorrow? And we can hang together before comin’ to the pub?”
You blinked at the brothers, taken by surprise. “Don’t you have work too?”
“Don’t worry, lass, we’ll be fine,” Murphy assured you, and you didn’t want the brothers to go out of their way or get in trouble with their boss because of you, but something told you that you wouldn’t be able to change Murphy’s mind if he was set on it.
“You sure?” You frowned.
“Aye.” Murphy nodded, and it was so hard to say no to that grin.
“What, want me to show that I do have friends?” You shrugged, still feeling a bit shy and embarrassed about the whole thing, but you were grateful nonetheless.
“Something like that…” Murphy said, smirking, as he gave you that mischievous smile.
“Sounds like a plan.” Connor nodded too. “We can get somethin’ to eat together before comin’ here.”
It was hard to say no to them when they were looking at you and smiling like that…and honestly, you didn’t want to say no. “Alright…okay.” You nodded, and then looked at the brothers curiously. “So you two come here every night?”
“Aye.” Both brothers nodded. “Pretty much.”
You snorted. “I see.”
“So what did ye do if it ain’t going to the pub, lass?” Murphy asked you with that stupidly cute, bright smile.
“Well…nothing special.” You shrugged bashfully. “Just…read or watch something on tv… I was trying to get into crochet too, actually…”
“Crochet’?” Connor arched an eyebrow at you seeming amused, and you shrugged again, defensively.
“Yeah…People say it’s relaxing, but I guess I’m not good enough yet.” You chuckled. “I guess I like being at home…doesn’t mean I don’t like to go out too, though, I do!” You rushed to say, in case the brothers thought you didn’t like hanging with them, when actually you enjoyed it so much, even if you hadn’t been too outgoing before.
The MacManus really were way more outgoing and extroverted than you, and you were a bit afraid that soon they’d find you boring or anything like that, but as they began telling you stories and things that had happened to them at the pub, you began to relax again, feeling once again how easy it was for you to be around them, and a few stories later, your cheeks felt almost like hurting of smiling and laughing that much.
The twins were troublemakers, that much you had deduced by now, but they didn’t seem like bad people by any means, and you were glad that they had befriended you. It’d been a long while since you had so much fun as you had with them, and even longer since you’d felt so at ease with someone, especially someone who you had just met, but the MacManus made you feel like you three had been friends for a while now, welcoming you so easily, making you feel like they enjoyed your company and like they too had fun with you.
Time seemed to fly, but you tried to keep track of the hour, you knew you shouldn’t go back home too late or you’d regret it in the morning. You didn’t know how the brothers went out every night when they worked too. When you noticed that the pub was getting emptier, you checked your clock. You should be leaving soon, even if you didn’t want to. That night, it’d been only the brothers and you, for now at least, their best friend hadn’t arrived yet, and you’d enjoyed it.
“I should be leaving soon…” You said regretfully. “Isn’t your friend Rocco coming today?” The twins looked at each other before looking at you.
“Later maybe…he had work tonight,” Connor explained vaguely, and considering what Rocco had been talking about the night before, how he seemed to work for the Italian mafia to some extent, you guessed you didn’t want details, and so you nodded curtly without saying anything, not wanting to say the wrong thing and upset the twins.
“I don’t want to…but I have to leave or else I’ll be asleep tomorrow at work.” You let out a sigh.
“Okay, love, we’ll get ye to a cab,” Murphy told you as he and his brother got up.
“No, it’s fine, I can get by myself, I saw before where do I have to go.” Once again, you didn’t want them to go out of their way for you, but they ignored you, walking with you to the door, Murphy’s hand on the small of your back pulling you with them and outside the pub.
You three walked to the street with all the cabs, and you were glad to see that you’d have actually known how to get there by yourself, but you were grateful for the brothers walking you at that hour of the night, besides, it was way more fun to walk while talking with them.
“Thanks, guys, for walking me and for everything, I really had fun,” you told them as you opened the door of a cab smiling.
“Likewise, love,” Murphy said and Connor nodded. “We’ll go pick ye up tomorrow, aye?”
“Alright…don’t feel like you have to…”
“We want to,” Murphy assured you.
“Yes, lass, we’ll be there,” Connor said too.
“Okay…okay, then…see you tomorrow, guys.” You waved at them a bit awkwardly as you got into the cab, smiling when they waved back. They really were cute…
That night, as you tried to sleep, you couldn’t stop thinking about Murphy…he hadn’t kissed you or said anything about having kissed you….you guessed it’d been a St. Patrick thing…you had tried not to have high hopes, but still, you couldn’t stop yourself from feeling a bit disappointed…
It wasn’t that you weren’t grateful that the brothers were your friends and wanted to hang out with you, you were beyond grateful and happy at it, but still…still you’d really hoped that the kiss could have meant something else…something more, maybe…
Letting out a sigh, you tried to stop your mind from wondering about it,  from overthinking, to stop the what-ifs, as you closed your eyes and tried to sleep.

I know, I know, not kissy kissy this chapter, but we’ll speed up in the next, I mean, twins have a plan, aye.

King JiHo (Favourite JiHo moments)
Fan Video by ‘Haechan’s Children’ on YouTube
Tumblr media
(indented text = comments added by the maker of the video) I’m 100% convinced that this is JiHo’s world and we’re just living in it. Here’s some moments that prove this <3 Enjoyyyy~~
Tumblr media
[[N'-135] New Thangs🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️New Thangs👍👃 | ‘영웅(Kick It)’ 인기가요 대기실 비하인드]
NCT 127 was chilling in their dressing room, backstage, waiting for their turn to perform ‘Kick It’. JiHo sat in one of the chairs in front of the mirrors, ready to get her make up done. Taeyong who was holding the camera walked up to the girl ready to interview her.
“And here we have our lovely JiHo getting ready for our stage.” He commented, earning a hum from the girl. “How are you feeling- oh? What’s that?” The camera wasn’t pointed at anything anymore as Taeyong leaned in closer to the girl then readjusted the camera again to focus on JiHo. His hand reached out to grab her chin and his thumb lightly pressed against a purple spot beneath the left corner of her lip. “Is it real?” The concern was audible in his question and JiHo nodded.
“I thought it was fake! What happened? When did you get that bruise? It looks painful.” Taeyong kept firing out questions which had both JiHo and the make up artist, who was currently working on her, laughing. “It doesn’t hurt too bad.” JiHo answered coolly, her eyes darted to the mirror in front of her and she noticed Mark walk behind her.
“Mark and I got into a fight yesterday.” Taeyong gasped and Mark snapped his head towards her after hearing his name. “What?” Both men asked shocked at the statement. “Mark hit you?” Taeyong asked once again pointing towards the bruise on JiHo’s face. “What are you talking about?” Mark stuttered over his words and turned his head to take a closer look at the bruise. JiHo didn’t say anything as Taeyong put down the camera on the table in front of them and started scolding the innocent boy.
Both JiHo and the make up artist were laughing and JiHo decided to grab the camera and point it towards both boys. “Oppa. I’m just kidding, leave poor Mark alone.” She explained, trying not to laugh again.
Johnny who had been watching everything happen had joined the group wordlessly. “Lim JiHo! You can’t joke about things like that!” The leader scolded and Mark let out a relieved gasp. “What?” She laughed at his expression. “I know we didn’t get into a fight, but I almost started second guessing myself that I somehow did do that to you.” With a hand on his heart, the panic lingered in his eyes for a few more seconds before it slowly vanished.
“You two are so gullible, oh lord.” JiHo chuckled and Johnny now settled between both boys, patting them both on their shoulders. “Taeyong you should’ve known better. If JiHo did get into a fight with Mark, we all know Mark would be the one to come out that with bruises. Not the other way around.”
She has these boys wrapped around her finger and she knows it!

[NCT 127 Talks "Superhuman", Tour, and KPop]
“What makes NCT 127 different from every other boy band?” Jaehyun’s eyes met JiHo’s, who is sitting on the front row of members next to Jungwoo. They shared a smile as Zach, the host, continues his question.
Johnny translated the question to all the other members and JiHo slowly brought the mic up to her lips. Once Johnny finished translating, the female voice of JiHo resonated through the room. “Well...” She stopped there with a nod and everyone started laughing.
After Taeyong and Johnny finished their answer JiHo grabbed her mic once again. “Just want to clarify, I’m not saying I’m the only reason we’re different, I’m just saying, if you’re calling us a boy band then of course me being a female member would technically already make us different from all other boy bands.” She quickly added.
“How does that feel? Being the only girl in a group of men.” Zach asked and JiHo shrugged. “It doesn’t feel abnormal to me. I think after knowing the guys for such a long time I just like, kind of found my spot with them and it just feels normal.” “I think JiHo sometimes forgets that she a girl...” Johnny added carefully, his voice turning a bit unsure at the end. With the boys laughing in the background JiHo waved a piece sign in front of the camera closest to her and started “acting cool” before talking into the mic with a deeper voice. “I’m part of the boys. Part of the homies. Ya know?”
JiHo sweetie, I know you wanna look cool, but all you’re doing is looking adorable. Please stop I’m gonna have a heart attack

[⚾️시티고 야구부⚾️ EP.1 라커 급습 | NCT 127 Baseball Team]
After Johnny’s joke about copying Mark(’s butt), Taeil spoke up, “Aren’t we missing someone?” “Where’s JiHo?” Yuta spun around once as if he was looking for the absent girl. “Tsk. Again, she’s late-” “Lee Haechan!” A voiced boomed off of frame.
JiHo walked in with a confident stride stopping in the middle of the room and staring straight into the main camera. “Don’t speak about your baseball team leader like that.” She said in a cold tone. “Sunbaenim, where were you?” Johnny asked. Since the age rolls were reversed, JiHo was now the oldest in the group. “I just came back from the gym as the leader of the cheerleading team who just finished practise.” “You’re also their leader?” Doyoung stifled a laugh and JiHo turned to him sending him a glare. He put up his hands in a defensive pose and took a step back after which JiHo turned back to the camera.
“Why? Don’t you believe me?” “I don’t know JiHo. It’s just that-” Mark stopped talking before being able to finish his sentence as the girl kicked up her left leg. She caught her foot with her left hand and pulled her leg up until it was next to her face, extended into a heel stretch. Her right hand was also in the air, showing of how great her balance and flexibility is. She kept the pose for a few seconds before bringing her foot back down to the ground. “Wow!” The boys gasped in surprised.
JiHo isn’t trying to be flexible, flexible is trying to be JiHo
She eyed Mark who quickly acknowledged the fact that she fit as the role of the cheerleading team. “Don’t underestimate me Markie.” The teasing tone along with the nickname sent a shiver down the boy’s spine, the other boys either oohing or being slightly scared themselves.
Why is Mark always the victim of JiHo’s teasing?? I can’t with them

The whole ‘To You’ series was really sweet and emotional. So this isn’t as funny as the previous clips, but I felt like this still fits the theme so well. I also think that not that many fans have seen this before, so after this clip you should watch all 3 videos <3
PS. this isn’t the full clip but here are some of my favourite parts of Taeil’s message to JiHo
“It must have been hard right? Your position in the group is very special and it must come with a lot of pressure.” Taeil’s eyes fell into his lap, a sad smile on his lips. “But you always try to hide your hardships from the group.”
I believe what he means with ‘position’ is being the maknae of the group as well as being the only girl
“I wished that you could come to us more and open up about those things, because I know that everyone (in the group) would drop everything they were doing in a heartbeat to hear you out.” He took a deep breath before continuing.
“Haechan is the mood maker in the sense that he likes joking around and being loud, but you also are a mood maker. Just in your own unique way. You’re such a good listener and observer so you notice things other people might not. You approach members silently or make small gestures, which mean a lot, to cheer someone up. But you can also be funny and loud. I appreciate both of those sides of you.”
I’m not crying, you are ::>_<::
It was silent for a little as Taeil seemed deep in thought. “I know you don’t like to be treated in a more special way than the other members, and the older members really try not to show it. But in our minds... and in our hearts, you do have a special place. I know you are a strong person and can protect yourself just as well, if not better, than the other members, but I can’t help but want to protect you.”
“Whatever anyone says, those people who aren’t our fans or don’t understand us, I hope you don’t take their painful words to heart. Because you are just as fit to be in NCT as any of the other members.”
I’m so happy to see how much NCT cares for JiHo, not that I ever doubted that they didn’t, but seeing this was so heart-warming and JiHo’s reaction was so sweet as well as her message to Taeyong (but you have to go watch the original video for that ;-) )

[[Un Cut] Take #4 I ‘NCT - RESONANCE Pt. 1’ The Future ver. Jacket Behind the Scene]
The camera focused on JiHo who was currently doing her individual shots. She was wearing a beige oversized long sleeve that showed of her collarbones but covered up most of the rest of her body.
JiHo squatted down and tilted her head to the side to show of her jawline. The staff were complimenting her as the shoot went on.
A particular switch in poses had elicited a surprising response from one of the female staff members. “Wow~ Has she always been this pretty?” She said in awe, which caused everyone to start laughing and agreeing.
After JiHo’s shoot it was Ten and Kun’s turn. During Ten’s individual interview he brought up the event that happened before his shoot started. “I heard that the staff was surprised by JiHo’s visuals.” He chuckled. “My baby is very pretty everyone. Don’t forget that or you’ll be surprised and fall in love with her like the staff member did.”
I don’t know if I’m freaking out more because Ten just called JiHo his baby or because she called her very pretty so casually? Also thanks for the warning Ten, but I’m already madly in love with JiHo so... a bit too late for that.

[Idol Crushes? | HDIGH Ep. #xx Highlight]
“Weren’t you promoting (’Revolution’) recently?” Jae (Day6) asked AleXa who was sat next to him. She hummed. “Actually it was around the same time that NCT was promoting their music.” “Oh did you talk to them?” AleXa shook her head whilst laughing but then stopped suddenly as if she remembered something.
“She wasn’t promoting with them at the time, but I saw JiHo sunbaenim backstage.” This comment perked up Jae’s interest as he sat up in his chair. “Did you introduce yourself?” “Yeah she actually noticed me first and came to say hi.”
Diane, who was the person behind the camera gasped loudly. “Why haven’t you told us about this?! She knows you?” The small girl nodded embarrassed and then explained what happened on that day.
“She’s super nice and complimented my music and dancing. I didn’t think I’d ever been at such a loss for words as back then. I got so nervous because even though she’s really nice, she has such a strong presence? If you know what I mean?” Jae and Diane hum in understanding. “Just seeing her up close like that was so intimidating. Like she told me she was there to support her members so she didn’t have any makeup on, but she was still insanely beautiful.” Jae laughed at the girl’s dramatic explanation. “You sound like you have a crush on her.” AleXa stuttered for a second before replying. “I think I might!” They all laughed.
“Did you exchange phone numbers?” Diane asked and AleXa nodded excitedly. “We did! We don’t text each other often, but every once in a while she reaches out after a new podcast episode comes out to tell me about the parts she liked.” “Oh so she watches this?” Jae’s eyes widened. “Yeah.”
AleXa turned to the camera and waved. “JiHo sunbaenim, if you are watching this, thank you so much! I hope we can get closer someday.”
I don’t know AleXa that well, but I think a collab between her and JiHo would be so powerful!
