pillow tpot headcanons (long ramble expanding on the ocd part under the cut)

ok so first warning: i am not a psychiatrist. this isnt a super educated essay on ocd, just me projecting my lived experience onto an object show character. this is just an observation. if i get something wrong feel free to correct me, ill add it here. (its also worth noting i am self diagnosed. not "quick google search" self dx though, ive gone over it with a therapist and everything)

and that leads into the second warning: this ramble will get a tad bit personal sorryyyy

and finally the third warning: i put she/it on the ref but im just using she/her for simplicity (+ i forgot LOL(

anyway so yeah i think that pillow has ocd and is basically the embodiment of "letting intrusive thoughts win" except like. actually. this headcanon didnt stem from the killing or the strange impulses though, i think she has it because of her fixation on good and bad luck in tpot 10.

for me it manifests in a few different ways. my main one is counting—i have good luck numbers and bad luck numbers. i need to take a specific number of snacks every time i have a bowl of them. i have to shake medicine bottles a certain amount of times before taking them. i am always counting the "syllables" of whatever im doing, and it always has to land on a multiple/factor of my lucky number. and if i break any of this, i (generally, if i cant convince myself its fine or if i dont notice) have to count to my lucky number otherwise something bad will happen. hell, i added more flags to this ref because the number of them was my unlucky number.

i have a few other things that affect it that are completely unrelated to counting, though. like a particularly bad one is that i straight up cant wear certain articles or clothing anymore because theyre bad luck. or my ungodly long night routine (which is probably more of an autism thing tbh. but certain parts of it are absolutely influenced by the ocd, like having to say goodnight to my dog).

that ^^ is what i saw in pillow. she was distraught that her team lost in 9, because not only did she think she was doing the challenge right, but killing people (bringing death) was good luck for her.

i think her killing people was a compulsion, and her whole thing in 10 was her scrambling to find a new one after that stopped working.

and before anyone tries to be all like "oh thats fucked up why would they portray ocd like that," one: i dont think this was on purpose this was just an observation, two: i mean..... fuck dude if i lived in a world where revival was incredibly accessible and one of my compulsions were to kill people, id do the same thing. death is fairly normal in bfdi, to the point everyone literally has a kill count on the fandom wiki (hers is 13 as of tpot 11 btw, a commonly unlucky number ironically enough. if she gets eliminated in 12 with an unlucky kill count thatd be so funny). once they get past the pain, its. really just an inconvenience to them.

when it comes to ocd, you. HAVE to do these things. its not a choice until you can get some outside help with it, and oftentimes its an inconvenience to those around you. i dont think its right for her to be going around killing her team, but when i get past the fact that is literally what made her my favorite, i get where shes coming from. shes trying to help in a way she "knows" will work.

I graduated last year/that was my second degree :D!

A have a few things I can run down-

Photo reference. There are things I legit cannot get down right that I need photos for so my family ends up being my reference for things/I get photos from them doing poses I sometimes need.

If you can't get photo refs you can always use 3d models too to help with shadowing and where light should hit!

2. Pureref

Feel like no one talks about pureref enough but I like to make little refs and inspo boards before I draw! Plus it's like free

3. Thumbnailing

Omg please thumbnail. Like it's honestly a lot of fun cause you're not showing them really to anyone unless you need help picking but they're scribbles and doodles for you to know what you want your composition to look like or what the mood is gonna be

Again they don't have to be anything special could be stick-figures or whatever but it's to help you plan

4. Post-Work

I play around with curves and blurring so much like there's a lot that happens even after I finish comes sometimes I'm like "no I don't like these colors" and end up playing around with them more with curves and color balance

I made a tutorial about curves here! I also talk about the darken and light layer here too cause they're legit my favorite layer modes to play with and not a lot of people talk about them. I can't find my one talking about blurring+ noise(if anyone finds it please link it over :D)I might have to make a new tutorial on those- I think one of the things that gives it that dreamy feeling is the blur I use-

I like to keep things I don't want so much attention on blurred out/ and keep things I want you to grab your attention more in focus

also like using textures are fun too to add over art sometimes. It also makes like the art feel less sharp+ adding noise gives it that fuzzy look to it

I like make my own to add over or use some I got over the years! They're fun to slap on and have as overlay

5. Bug your friends lmao

I have bugged @chrispypapas in the middle of the before to ask him for help/to give me a second eye on things cause 1. Sometimes there's something you don't catch your friends do and tell you what to fix or 2. You're being overcritical and it's fine

She’s never actually heard you talk and she finds, she is in love with your voice too

She feels, for the first time in her reborn life, like a deer in the headlights. She can’t even breathe, only stare wide eyed at you

“You have beautiful eyes, Lady Bela”, you admit. She instinctively closes them, her head attempting to turn and failing to do so with your hand on her cheek

If it wasn’t for her adamant blush and shaky breaths, you would be worried you understood her notes and glances all wrong

There isn’t much you know of her yet, but her room has told you a few things

Such as her taste in books, mostly literature, a few romance books hidden away in the corners. Her little secret, it seems

She’s extremely neat and organised, all has a proper place in her room, and a proper pattern she follows

She loves lavender. There’s multiple lavender scented things- candles, soaps, perfumes, pillows- in her room

You wonder if this is to cover up the smell of blood she carries with her

Something you now come to realise about her?

Bela is adorably shy

The poor thing is so focused on her work at all times, she has little idea how to act around someone she likes and shows interest in her

Bela gasps when you raise your hand, your sleeve caught between your thumb and index fingertip as you brush it along her bloodied lips

Her eyes closed again, contentedly. She wishes her family will take their sweet time. She doesn’t want this moment to end

“I believe, you have me wrapped around your finger, my beautiful Bela”, you whisper boldly

She watches you lean in slowly, her hands gripping the table edge as she leans forwards, so eager to taste your lips with hers

With a hum, this wish is granted, and your hand on her cheek merely keeps her against you as you share a loving kiss

Despite what she thinks, you are not at all oblivious to her presence

How could you be, when she is there constantly as you work?

Not that you mind. You enjoy her company greatly, even if she is quiet and stays distant

It’s nice not to be alone, while not having to worry about fixing an awkward silence

Cassandra’s lounging spot, right above you and near the warm heat rising from the furnace, is poorly hidden if only one looks up

However, you don’t allow her to notice you spotting her yet. You know, this would make her leave

After all, she’s far too adorable, leaning against her palm as she watches, almost dreamily, all day every day

You find yourself intrigued and attracted fast

It’s no surprise, really. A blind woman could tell Cassandra is beautiful

You don’t know much of her personality, only what she lets on by what she commissions

You find fast, Cassandra knows her weapons

She prefers fast ones, and swords

She enjoys swords greatly, yet rather to look at than use. The times you’ve- admittedly- let your eyes linger on her in the distance whenever she is seen dragging new prey in the castle, she’s never had a sword attached to her side

Daggers, and her signature weapon- a sickle

Cassandra is described as brutal and dangerous, and it intrigues you

You can’t help but to like the thought of this dangerous and sadistic, “monstrous” (although you can’t see her this way, even when you are not blind to what she does to the staff), and bloodthirsty woman becoming this flustered, tamed, dreamy woman around you

Sometimes, you turn your head upwards a little, just to see her quickly turn into her swarm

It’s adorable to fluster her. She’s adorable, you settle on

You begin attempting to court her, using gifts and additions to her commissions she seems to like on her weapons, even metallic hearts, which she seems to be a big fan of!

Never does she leave a gift of yours untouched or denied

Yet, she seems oblivious to it all, to the implications behind them

You don’t blame her. You wonder, has anybody ever tried courting her?

You don’t mind upping your efforts- you’ll just need to try harder

Cassandra feels painfully flustered at the many hearts she receives. It’s her favorite thing, really!

In a way, she hopes: is this for her? To show you like her?

To show you accept her?

She is a predator

She is sadistic

She does enjoy gore and killing and the screams of her victims

She is a monster in every way

Could you possibly love her despite all of this?

With all of this?

Cassandra finds something strange at her door next- a beautiful, silver crown

She blushes at the small realisation- you know she prefers silver rather than gold…she has never asked for a gold weapon, she supposes. Always iron or silver

A crown, though?

She doesn’t understand. What is she supposed to do with a crown?

As she lifts it from the floor, she realizes the small letters carved in italic at the inner side of the crown, where only she could see them

“A crown fit for a queen”

She curses at herself for blushing like a damn maiden and smiling wide and foolishly like Daniela

She isn’t supposed to like such stuff! She isn’t supposed to want your arms around her, nor to be held and fight alongside you…

Yet, she can’t help but put the crown on her head, unsure as she stands in front of a lengthy mirror

She looks…pretty. She likes it, she decides

It’ll be her own little secret. Mother doesn’t have to know about it

Daniela definitely can’t know about this

Cassandra is once again lounging on her favourite spot when she sees you craft something rather unusual:

A sword, a beautiful one at that

With the Dimitrescu sigil embedded in it, a yellow gemstone at the bottom of the rich, leather handle, and small hearts adorning it

She can’t help but lean a little closer. She’s so curious

What masterpiece have you crafted now?

This is, when Cassandra leans a little too far down and forwards in her eagerness to see

With a loud shriek and a mess of flies around her, she falls, right through the warm steam that forbids swarming, and into your muscular arms

She’s blushing and gasping, caught bridal style and held in a way she has never been before

“Good day, Lady Cassandra”, you can’t help but blurt out, the sword held in your hand as you steady her in your arms

In return, you merely receive adorably wide, golden eyes, even with her lazy eye, and parted lips you yearn to taste

You know, you must use this opportunity to act before she is off again

Her gasp is once again swallowed by your lips when you push them against hers quickly, merely pecking them before she swarms away, bumping first into the pillar, then brokenly swarming out the door

She sighs dreamily as she watches, every day, until you’re done with your work in the garden for the day

Sometimes she does this from the safety of her room, so far up and away you have no chance of seeing her

At other times, she watches from the library

The view is better there, and the room feels cosier

More alive

Less lonely

Of course, you notice her

You notice the longing glances that go your way, belonging to the the beautiful creature sitting at the library’s window

She looks so lonely, so sad and dreamy, yet so captivating, so beautiful and stunning

Her reputation is the one of a siren, luring people in and slaughtering them. A monster. A villain. The worst of the bunch

But, you see past such lies

You see the woman yearning for attention and love

The dreamy glances, the gloved, petite fingertips that rest gently against the cold window

It’s as if she is reaching for you, only when her mind is distracted enough and she cannot stop herself from doing it

She’s desperate for touch. For love. You want nothing but to give her both unconditionally

Sweet Daniela Dimitrescu has you wrapped around her fingers before you even interact with her once

You notice her stares, see her eying the flowers outside

You don’t understand why she won’t visit you outside. Why she won’t pluck the flowers she so dearly seems to want

Very well- if she won’t take one for herself, you will simply deliver them for her, you decide

You bring her ones, and smile when you see the enthusiastic smile on her face in return

It’s as if her smile brights up not only her face, but the entire room

She tends to them, and folds them into a flower crown as she sits at the window, too occupied to notice it is now you who cannot take your eyes off her

When she sets the crown on her head, you nearly accidentally push the shovel into your boot instead of the dirty ground

She’s beautiful

Yet, all too soon, the flowers die in the warm castle, and her expression turns sad

You find out, it’s an expression you don’t want to see on her face. It has no place on it at all

You quickly come up with a plan to change her frown, and it works!

Daniela adores the paper flowers left for her. She turns them into a bouquet, and all too eagerly carries them with her

One day, she sits at the window seat at the library yet again, tracing the snowflake as it turns into a drop of icy water than runs down the glass

She jumps upon seeing you in front of her, your fingertip pressing against hers with only the glass separating you two

Daniela blushes at this

Could it be?

She drags her fingertip down, her breath held

But, you follow, and yet again yet it where hers is

She beams at you. You understand!

She watches with wide, golden eyes as you breathe on the glass, turning about a third of it foggy

You adore the giggle that is pulled from her cherry lips when you trace a flower in the foggy area with your gloved finger

Daniela grins widely, repeating your action at the bottom part of the window

She traces a heart there, with a small smiley drawn inside

You adore her mind

Daniela groans as she hears you being called over to continue your work, a small pout back on her lips

Why must she be so adorable?, you wonder

Yet, her pouty expression is quickly replaced with a flustered one when you wink at her and blow her a kiss before you leave to continue your work

his name is Feldspar and he feeds on lawsuits

Alexander Feldspar, (which is a totally real name that he didn't make up one day), is the team leader of D.A.C.S. He is... a Medic. Which is puzzling considering his medical training is not particularly extensive and his bedside manner leaves much to be desired. Some quick notes because trying to format this in a normal paragraph is killing me:

Sort of perceives his team like family, but he'd never admit it. He'd have you believe it's in the corporate "we're all one big family here" way, but deep down he definitely cares. He'd be alone otherwise.

Will do what he believes is in everyone's best interest, but he usually bases these decisions off of his own observations and biases. Thankfully, he's pretty observant and his decisions are logical. Daniel the engineer is really the only one bold enough to provide feedback (most of the team are pretty reserved people and read Feldspar as a man whose ego is easily salted. They're not... that far off.)

He can be vain. Very vain. But being drenched in blood is not something he seems to bat an eye at anymore.

Sleep? What's sleep? Amphetamines were invented for a reason.

Owns one of those long cigarette holders. Cancer the looong way

His weapon of choice is a crowbar. He prefers it up close and personal. (He's a terrible shot, anyway.) Comes in handy if doors or crates need prying open or kneecaps need busting. A habit he picked up from mob work in the early days, even if he doesn't remember it quite so well as he used to. (The Car Accident did a quite number on him 😔)

Speaking of The Car Accident, prior to it, he was a lawyer. Graduated from Harvard. Worked in New York. Saw his ol' college roommate up in Mass between cases and "errands." Sometimes head up to Maine on a fishing trip. Never seemed to... ever catch anything... ... was never married, either. That's probably not related though.

Insists on being the primary team chef. He's terrifyingly adept at making tasty meals out of canned goods and whatever fresh food he can scrounge up from the closest town; so no one really complains.

Under the cut is me rambling abt overbloting and oc stuff I tried to put as much epic mickey refs as I could

I decided to mix them together because in the early concepts Oswald was supposed to be the main villain but it got changed and the blot got used instead. But in the game Oswald is still "kinda" a villain. Don't hit me I haven't played the game. I will. When epic mickey refurbished will come out.

The main reason for Deich's overblot would be jealousy and feeling useless/not being good enough???

Who wouldn't be sad. ya got transported to unknown place, get treated like trash and then, your friend seems to be adapting better than you. Look at them living life, new friends, new adventures, popularity, what fun.

(Only in 7th chapter we really start to find info on how to get home soooo) You thought your friend will be there with you but no. They left you. For something better. But then you try to be as positive as they are, but you fail, you try to be helpful, it never works out, you try to regain control, but they seem.. to forget about you.. you were never enough. Ya dont really wanna tell how you feel so not to bring the mood down..they seem.. so happy.. without you.. maybe its for the better...so it becomes a "habit" to just hide everything away and don't bring it up. I wanted Deich's overblot to be more destructive, to the body I mean. Deich been holding her feelings for a while. (i wanna make overblot happen in the 5th chapter. Or somewhere in that time period. For... romantic reasons..hehehe) ( Oswald trapping the blot reference) I think hiding singhs of ovebloting can lead up to some consequences.

Hiding symptoms of overblot may include: ink vomiting, hallucinations, body tremors- and maybe smth else, idk, need to think abt it.

Deich would get fully consumed by the fantom, (phantom blot. Get it?) like forcibly getting dragged. (Like how the blot takes away mickeys gang) Ya know, blot dripping, huge puddles of ink pooling everywhere.

The more you get corrupted by the blot the more sanity you loose? Right? I had this scene in mind where you're at the worst stage of blot but still try to communicate in a way, but the more you try to speak the more tortured you sound. Ink like acid running your vocal cords as more of it spills out, body tired from the amount of blot that covers your body but you still try to reach out.

i'm still working out the details of how exactly it and postal dude would've met, but i'm thinking maggot likely first encountered him when he barged into the record store they work at in search of cover from angry cops and protestors. ever since that day they've become... fascinated with dude, to say the least.

bonus facts about it under the cut!

a friend of their dad owns a record store, which it works part time at. that's pretty much the extent of their interactions with other people, since it only ever leaves their apartment to go to its job and when it's night.

it shaved off its eyebrows one time during a nervous breakdown, but then they decided that they liked them better like that.

LOVES cheesy horror flicks and slashers, if you ask them what their favorite scary movie is it'll be able to instantly give several answers just off the top of its head. also a huge fan of horror punk and metal (i'm sure you can guess who their favorite band is lmao).

it's very socially awkward and a bit weird, if not outright off-putting. has a tendency to smile a little too much for comfort. despite all of this, it usually doesn't mean any harm. usually.

they have some very specific and mostly unrelated skills including but not limited to playing the drums, bug catching, drawing, climbing, and lock picking. the last two make it a nuisance for anyone who wants to keep it out of trouble, which they often seem to find themself getting into.

once something (or someone) has caught their interest, it doesn't know when to stop and mind their own business.

Hi guys, okay, I know I've done a few comics like (New) Abysstale (Undertale fan comic), Comet of Evermore (on pause) and The Knight of ARK (Kirby fan comic)(very much on hiatus). The reason I've done a few comics is because it depends on what mood I'm in at the time. I don't feel continuing comics was because I wanted to do something else for a change. But I'm not planned to cancel it. It's because there is chance that I come back to it when when I'm in the mood. So you may asking question that '' Did you created your first FNAF fan AU? '' the answer is yes and no. There was my first FNAF call '' The Forestmore Hotel '' Originally, it was supposed to be animated series. But I wasn't ready because I need to practice animation and have a good tablet. So once I'm ready for animation. I'll start it in the future. So about this one, Lately, I dreamed a few times that I was transformed into Moondrop for unknown reason. Well, I like transformation and trying to uncover the mystery of how it happens. So it give me idea of to created a FNAF AU. The Fnaf AU name is Me and my Moonside.

I was shy to share this idea for a new comic here. Because I don't know if people going like the story or not. So I'm not going to make a big long comic just one chapter to see how this comic will turn out to be. If it very good then I can make a chapter 2.

I was reading through some of your tags for the post and some of them caught my eye, specifically when you were talking Abt the ref and Felix thing. Why do you get angry Abt it????/gen I'm not trying to be rude, I'm generally all around New to the fandom and I wanna know why-

Okay so!! Honestly this is a fair question to ask, because anyone particularly new to the fandom or even the game in general isn’t going to know the whole context about this situation.

Short(ish) summary (also spoilers of course!): In the postgame, Red still appears at cypher spots, even though going by the story Red and Felix are the same person, and the red cyberhead was destroyed by the end of the game. Taking it at face value, some people interpret it as Red somehow coming back as a separate person from Felix. Which is a cool AU idea imo!

Unfortunately, a decent amount of people have a heavy preference towards Red over Felix, usually either because they’re too used to Red from playing as him for most of the game, or even because they see Felix as ugly/unattractive in comparison.

So then those people tend to use that AU as a way to replace Felix, basically (in my mind at least) throwing out Felix’s character development from the game in favor of Red. When from the canon story’s perspective, they’re the same damn person anyways. And like, I just find that really rude towards him, and I say this as a person who enjoys that AU too, though evidently in a different way from what other people are doing. D:

Longer rant with more details/complaints under the cut:

There are a few different variants of this AU, just to list a few scenarios:

Red is actually a somehow revived Faux, basically using the red cyberhead to hide his identity. Why he does this can vary: him wanting to actual repent for what happened and trying to start doing so by hiding his real identity, or even just hiding himself as he plots to get revenge on Felix and the rest of BRC.

Red is a copy (either complete or partial) of Felix’s mind during the time he spent stuck in the red cyberhead. Basically that converting the red cyberhead to preserve Felix’s head didn’t remove all of the systems/internals related to a normal cyberhead’s functions. The idea being maybe the Flesh Prince had to do a rush job due to needing to keep Felix’s head preserved as quickly as possible to prevent too much rotting/memory loss. Thus some systems are still there, reading Felix’s mind and later result in Red once the red cyberhead is put back together. I will admit I did talk about this scenario in a previous post of mine!

A fun one from a friend of mine: Red still existing turns out to be because a player of the actual BRC game managed to get isekai’d into the world, with them somehow getting put into a newly revived Red as his new "AI" mind. Then having to navigate the world and maybe even befriend BRC, trying to also convince them that he’s not suspicious (especially given his knowledge of the events of the game). Also dealing with how actually moving around and doing things as a writer firsthand is WAY different from just doing it in a video game, lol

Another one from a different friend: Red is “revived” by the Flesh Prince as a new lacky. Though it’s not “Red” from the game, he just found Faux’s old body and then put a completely new cyberhead on it with a basic AI, declaring it his new minion. Shenanigans ensue, probably. :P

But the one that a decent amount of people seem to prefer: Red being the one to experience most if not all of the game, connecting with the rest of BRC and becoming friends. Felix recovering his memories is still a thing here, and him basically taking the reigns once the endgame starts to defeat Faux for good. But then after that it’s revealed Felix still doesn’t have much of a friendship with the others, because it turned out that was all Red, as a separate mind/AI/etc. from Felix. So then in this version of the AU, Red is part of BRC because of the connections he made, while Felix leaves and goes back to being a solo writer because his only connection to BRC was them helping him recover his memories. It’s using Red as a complete replacement for Felix, even though canonically they’re the same person anyways.

And like… ultimately people will do whatever they want with AUs and stuff like this, I can’t force people to stop what they’re doing or agree with the criticisms I have here. And I will admit, I used to like the last point in a “WHOA that’d be a pretty cool twist!!” way, but then later thinking on it more, and realizing… no, actually, this feels like a shitty thing to do to the narrative, especially to poor Felix.

His whole thing is like!! He was friends but also rivals with DJ Cyber and Faux, until eventually going solo for All City, and even admitting he prefers to work alone. We don’t get details on why he feels that way, but we can imagine a ton of ideas for it: he has more of an ego than he lets on? He didn’t want DJ Cyber or Faux to get hurt during the path to All City, so he decides to just go for it by himself? He still genuinely thinks of them as his friends, but overall he’s generally a more aloof loner kind of person and that’s why he went solo? There’s a bunch of options!

Regardless of his reasons, he went solo for All City. He had a one night graffiti session with Faux afterwards, maybe to just check on him and catch up. But otherwise to me it implies there weren’t going to be too many more sessions like these in the future, be it with Faux or anyone else.

And then, Faux kills him. Faux’s own motivations for that are also another fascinating potential for cool fics/AUs/etc. But that’s maybe for another post. :P

Anyways! Felix is dead, but manages to get preserved and eventually revived as Red. Early on in the game, I believe right at the beginning of Chapter 2, Red decides to go up against DJ Cyber in order to find out about his own forgotten roots. And he actually starts to go off by himself, until Tryce stops him! Then Tryce tells him they’re doing this together as a crew, and the way I see it, Red is probably going, “Wait, you… want to still help me? Even if it means fighting against a guy like DJ Cyber? Really??”

Because! Again, my own interpretation, Red doesn’t have all his memories back, but I think Felix’s personality is still there, just subconsciously, y’know? “I gotta do this on my own, can’t rely on anyone else, don’t want others to get hurt because of me” etc. So this is imo one of the first big steps in Felix’s character development that I feel is going on throughout the game: learning that it’s okay to have your friends help you, and to help them out in return, sticking together until the very end and even beyond that!

I mean, just saying, Tryce and Bel join in with Vinyl and DJ Cyber to keep Mech!Faux open for a final attack during his boss fight. That’s some serious friendship right there, willing to put yourself on the line for a friend!!

So then, to basically say, “No, most/all of that was actually just Red, and Red and Felix are separate people so Felix doesn’t need to stick around with BRC anymore” is like…

Okay, pardon my language here, but it’s effectively throwing out Felix’s whole character arc, and frankly it’s fucking insulting towards him!! Guy has the power of badass friendship and hella illegal graffiti on his side, and some people wanna rip that away from him?! Come the fuck on!!

And to emphasize, I used to like this idea as like, an amazing didn’t-see-it-coming twist. But then thinking on it more, it just really isn’t fair to Felix! At all! Especially since I really do think he has an interesting character arc, going from insisting on doing things solo, to gaining new friends and going All City a second time with, in his words, “a whole crew of the best homies around”.

Literally, he says that at the hideout in the postgame! I’m kinda paraphrasing based on memories, but that’s actually what he says more or less.

Also, a lot of people in the fandom seem to really enjoy this AU specifically as a way to replace Felix with Red in their minds/headcanons/stories. Some of them just ended up very attached to Red because of playing as him for most of the game anyways. Which, y’know, that’s reasonable at least! But then for others, they latch onto this AU because of having a genuine dislike (and in some cases, outright hatred) towards Felix.

From my observations and experiences, if it’s not because they got too attached to Red, it’s mostly rooted in people not finding Felix “attractive”. That’s it, possibly the most selfish fucking reason a person could have for wanting to forcefully throw out a character’s development, like what the hell man.

imo it also reeks of a problem that some other fandoms tend to have: dissing more masculine men in the cast, in favor of the more feminine/twink men. Some people may debate on whether Red/Faux would count as a twink, especially with how the term has been watered down recently (fun fact, it was meant to be mainly used in an LGBT+ context, so specifically for LGBT+ men who fit the appearance!!). But, I hope people reading this get the idea of what I’m trying to point out here. :/

Another thing about how people are trying to use Red to replace Felix: they treat this AU like it’s canon, or that they think it should be canon. Even though it’s not, that’s the point of calling it an AU!! Like I mentioned way earlier, I’m not going to stop anyone from going into this sort of AU, even if I personally have criticism for it if it’s handled in a certain way. But what I’m not going to let slide is people trying to force an AU to be considered canon and the way it should be.

The point of an AU is to have fun with possibilities, not try to reject and replace the original canon completely!! D:

Anyways, this is uh. Pretty long as is. So I want to wrap up with at least what I personally like about the potential for a “Red comes back as a separate person” AU. Which is evidently very different from what most people enjoy about that kind of AU.

I mentioned this in my old post I linked to earlier in this post, but basically: Red is not used as a replacement for Felix, but he exists alongside him and the rest of BRC. They could even become like brothers to one another. Red being the “younger” brother who is (quite literally) new to life and wants to go out there and explore and experience all the good stuff, even in a chaotic way. And then Felix being the “older” brother, still being chill like he was before, yet also more responsible and cautious because of what he went through, thus wanting to make sure Red is safe and sort of be his mentor through these things. Felix maybe even feels like he's the main reason Red is here at all, so then he feels responsible with guiding Red and making sure he turns out alright, y'know?

… At least, that’s more or less what I would want to aim for. Them coexisting and even getting more character development for the both of them! I would take more about the specifics of how this would all work. But I do have fan fics and other stuff I want to do someday to share those ideas more. Thus I will stop here for today, hopefully I will be able to get around to those fan fics and stuff in the future! Maybe.

So yeah, that about wraps up my thoughts on this topic? I probably came off as too hostile at some points, sorry about that. It’s just, I think this particular version of the AU is especially frustrating when it’s coming from people who are clearly only using it to replace the “ugly” Felix with the more “attractive” Red. Sometimes it’s subtle, other times it’s more obvious, but either way it’s just damn annoying for me at this point. :(

Jamie offered his house, and as long as James continued to attend AA meetings, he could stay. A change of scenery had helped Jamie; why wouldn’t it help James? His father ensconced himself in Jamie’s spare room, and it was fine.  It would be fine.  He would take it day by day, just like his father said they did in AA.  Jamie spent his second sleepless night debating whether he should tell anyone about his Dad. He definitely couldn’t tell Mummy. Maybe he could tell some of the team, though? Sam wouldn’t judge him, but he wasn’t sure he could handle their pitying faces. But he didn’t have to decide now, did he? He could always tell them later. Maybe his Dad would leave after a few days, and there wouldn’t even be anything to share.

Ankle from the home invasion fic:

“We found a safe in the basement. You’re going to unlock it for us.” The two began to drag Jamie towards the wall, only for his ankle to give out on him the first time he transferred weight to it. He would’ve crashed to the floor if he wasn’t being held upright. Jamie could feel where the bruises from their grip on his arms would be.  “There’s nothing in it, please,” Jamie begged. “Please just let me stay here. I’ll give you the code you can see for yourself. It’s just like my birth certificate and shit. A copy of my contract. Nothing worth anything. It’s just fireproof.” “Forgive me if I don’t believe you, mate. Let’s go.” Jamie had one last chance to make a break for it.

Roy followed closely but went immediately to the tub, turning the knob and testing the water before rummaging for bubbles under Jamie’s sink. Jamie watched with interest as he filled the tub with the bubbles and then added Epsom salts. Roy disappeared, and Jamie slowly peeled his t-shirt off. It hurt to lift it over his head, and Jamie wasn’t sure he’d be able to lift his arm on the side with the bruised ribs. He slipped from his shorts as Roy re-entered the bathroom, holding a cup, a couple of towels and a face cloth.  “What’re you doing, mate?” Jamie asked.  “Going to help you,” Roy said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Jamie concentrates on watching Monroe the rest of the match while keeping to his position as best he could. The good news is Monroe isn’t as keen to stay in his position and keeps drifting to Jamie knocking into him at any point or attempting to tackle him. Monroe is angry, but Jamie’s angry and fast, so most of his attempts don’t succeed.  But as the match ticks on, each step jars Jamie’s wrist, and the pain is zapping his energy, Jamie can feel the adrenaline leaving his body as he struggles to keep up with his team and opponent. It’s injury time when Monroe finally catches Jamie flat-footed, and Jamie goes down hard, rolling a few stops. The refs award a free kick, and Jamie struggles to remember to breathe, feeling as if a knife has somehow embedded itself in his wrist and thumb.

WIP Wednesday Game

It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.

Here’s how it works:

In a reblog (or new post w/ rules attached), post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs; not titles, file names.

Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to post!

After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write at least 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can't share from (for example, an event fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.

It's not from a WIP because I finished it yesterday, but I'm proud of it, so: Season 1 AU

“You want to put your money where your mouth is punk?!” Larry shouted, trying to get out of his restraints.

Steve looked him up and down. “You’re on. One on one in the outdoor basketball court. First one to twenty points wins. We need an unbiased ref...” he looked around until he found a black sophomore standing off the side. “You, you tried out for JV this year, right?”

The kid pointed to himself and looked around but Steve nodded. “Yeah, I mean, I didn’t make it, but yeah I play.”

Steve turned to Larry. “That okay with you?”

Larry nodded. “If I win, you quit the team and stop this fucking crusade you’re on.”

The crowd oohed and ahhed.

“And if I win,” Steve said with a knowing smirk, “you stepped down as captain and make me captain instead. And if you lay a single finger on anyone again, and you know what I mean, I’ll be sure to spill every dirty secret you ever uttered in the locker room. Don’t think that I won’t.”

Larry gulped heavily. The sound loud in the now dead silent hallway.

Steve stuck out his hand and Larry eyed it for a moment. He looked up into Steve’s steely gaze, then at the gathered crowd. He shook the offered hand and pumped it once.

“Saturday 10am,” Steve said with a grin. Larry nodded and Steve walked over to the kid who was going to be their ref and slung an arm around his shoulder. “Hey, kid, what’s your name?”

“Patrick,” the kid mumbled shyly.

My ToyHouse Characters page, where you can look at my characters' profiles! (A lot of stuff is a work in progress.) Names below also link to their specific pages.

My blog is home to the story Linden Roots. Randall Linden was once human, but through a horrific mishap, his memories were taken in by his friend, a Mew named Mo. Mo, having his own memories overwritten by Randy's, now lives Randy's life in his place.

Randy lives in Paldea with his shiny Mew Mate/Wife Akoya, her Mewtwo daughter Lavender, their twin Mew children Momo and Midas, and Akoya's half-brother Persim. Others in the household include Sulfur the shiny Lucario, Linda the shiny Roserade, Tol the shiny Chimecho, and Jerry the Pichu.

While he and his family are generally friendly and open to questions, Randy is sensitive about the events surrounding him becoming a Mew.

I do want to warn that this story touches on heavy and potentially uncomfortable subjects. I appreciate interaction, but please respect my artistic decisions. Thank you!
