How to play the Conan TCG
Here's a somewhat informal overview of the game rules and how to play before they reveal the full instruction manual.
Introduction
What kind of game is it?
Being based on Detective Conan, the TCG is thus about solving your very own mystery case! Its cards feature many iconic characters, cases, and plot points. Partnering up with your favorite Conan characters, gather evidence and aim to solve your case before your opponent does!
Card Types
There are four card types:
Partner card: Acts as your partner for the game. You can use it to deduce to gain evidence, and some cards have effects that require a specific color Partner to work. It also has the special [Assist] and [Case Closed] abilities, which are what you use to win the game.
Case card: Represents the case you are trying to solve. It denotes the Case Level, or the amount of evidence you need to win the game, which depends on whether you go first or second. Your deck can only have cards that are the same color as your case. Use a token to denote whether it is currently the Case Phase or Resolution Phase of your case.
Character cards: The main cards that go into your deck. They're the cards that you play onto your Scene (as in crime scene), and are what you mainly use to gain evidence.
Event cards: One-time use cards that get discarded once you use their effects. They're support cards that feature scenes from the manga.
As a rule of thumb, you play the game with one Partner card and one Case card, along with a 40-card deck of Character and Event cards. You can only have up to 3 copies of the same card. This is based on the ID of the card, so you can play 3 copies each of the above Conan cards since they have different IDs.
Playing the Game
Field Layout
Scene: Where you play Character cards onto. You can only have up to 5 Characters on the Scene at a time. If you were to play another one, you can choose to discard a Character already on the Scene to play the new one.
Partner: Place your Partner card here at the start of a game.
Case: Place your Case card here at the start of a game.
Deck: Where you place the deck that you draw cards from.
File Area: Place Files here from your deck facedown, sideways. Files determine what level cards you are allowed to play. The black box is where you put your Partner card after using its [Assist] ability.
Evidence Area: Place Evidence here from your deck facedown. You get Evidence by making deductions or actions with your Partner or Character cards.
Remove Area: Where you place your Character or Event cards that are removed from game.
If your deck happens to run out of cards in the middle of a game, you perform a "Refresh" - shuffle all the cards in the Remove Area into your deck. If you do so, the opponent gains one Evidence.
Game Preparation
When you start a game, you place your Partner and Case cards onto the playing area, then shuffle your deck. Both players draw a starting hand of 5 cards, and are allowed to mulligan their hand by shuffling any cards from their hand into the deck and drawing the same number of cards.
The Steps of a Turn A single turn has 3 phases:

Main Phase
End Phase
Auto Phase:
Put your Partner card into Active mode. If it's in the File Area, put it back in the Partner zone.
Take your Characters that are in Sleep mode and put them into Active mode.
Draw a card from your deck and add it to your hand.
Take 2 cards from the top of your deck and put them into your File Area facedown. These act as your Files, which determine what level cards you are allowed to play. (Note: for the player going first, they only add one File instead of two on their first turn.)
Main Phase: Do any of the following actions in any order:
Play a card from your hand, namely a Character card or an Event card. You can only play cards with a Level (top left corner number) that is lower than or equal to the amount of Files that you have. By default, you can only play one card per turn. Note that a Character is in "Intro" mode the turn it is played, and can't deduce or take action during the turn is played.
Use a Next Hint. Any time during the Main Phase, you can choose to use a Next Hint: Add the top card in your File Area to your hand, then you can choose to play another card from your hand, keeping in mind the newly decreased File count.
Use a Character card's "Declare" effect. Some Character cards have [Declare] effects, which are effects that you can choose to activate during the Main Phase. Generally, these effects can only be used once per turn or have some sort of requirement to be used.
Make a deduction. Select a Partner or Character card and put it into Sleep mode (turn it sideways). If you do, gain Evidence by putting cards from the top of your deck facedown into the Evidence Area. The amount of Evidence gained is equal to the LP of the card used to deduce. Note that Characters can't take action the turn they are played.
Take action. You can take action with a Character card by sleeping it. Like deductions, a Character can't take action the turn it is played. When you take action, you can either target the opposing Case, or an opposing Character that's in Sleep mode. The opponent can choose to guard the action by sleeping a Character they control, in which case the action is redirected to that Character. Action (Case): You can only take action on a Case if the opponent has cards in the Evidence Area. If the opponent does not guard when you take action on their case, the opponent removes an Evidence and you gain an Evidence. Contact: When you take action on a Character, or when a Character guards an action, a contact between the two Characters occurs. Compare the two Characters' AP, and remove the defending Character if the Character making the action has equal or higher AP. Each player may choose to use one [Cut In] ability from their hand to increase the AP of their Character, starting from the player who would lose the contact.
Use your Partner's abilities. A Partner card has two abilities: Assist and Case Closed. For Assist, sleep the Partner card and put it into your File Area. This increases the number of cards in your File Area, thus increasing the Level threshold of what cards you can play. In addition, after using Assist, if the number of cards in your File Area are 7 or higher, the case changes from Case Phase to Resolution Phase. (Denote this status with a token or marker) For Case Closed, activate only if the case is in Resolution Phase. By sleeping the Partner, if your Evidence count is greater than or equal to your Case Level, you win the game. Using this ability is the primary way in which you win the game. Note that both abilities require you to Sleep the Partner, which means you can't use these abilities the same turn you deduce with the Partner, nor can you use both in one turn.
End Phase: Your turn ends, and the game is passed onto the opponent. Any effects that end or activate when your turn ends occur now.
General flow of the game:
Accumulate Files throughout the game, using them to play Character or Event cards.
Make deductions with your Characters or Partner to gain Evidence. Take actions with your Characters to disrupt the opponent by removing their Evidence or Characters.
When you reach seven Files, use your Partner's [Assist] to turn your case into Resolution Phase.
Reach enough Evidence to match your Case Level, then use your Partner's [Case Closed] to win the game.

Sonhara Lore: Gishar Values
Most of the gishar culture has come from their desire to "protect" their bloodline, and that extends to how they treat each other.
The Value system is to help the gishars determine "fairly" who the best marriage candidates are for their children, so they can assure that their bloodline can stay strong.

How is it worked out?
From the moment a gishar is born, they are being evaluated. Then, at the age of 15 they take a bunch of examinations known as the "Trials" where the results will decide their Value, alongside the other categories.
Health
Every gishar is born with a base value of 5000 health points. Any major illness or injury will result in points being deducted from this value.
Max: 5,000 Average: 4,449
Notability
This is basically the popularity score among the rest of the gishars. Each other family gives a score out of 1000, with the total being all of the scores added together.
Max: 11,000 Average: 6,127
Philanthropy
Although they have many issues, the gishars generally do at least desire to be good leaders. Unfortunately they are blinded by their circumstances and a lot of their philanthropy work is simply for show, in order to increase their value. There is always a young gishar being paraded around and forced to give speeches at charity events.
Max: 5,000 Average: 3,016
Intelligence
This is based off the results of the general academic tests they take, much like every other Sonharian child.
Max: 500 Average: 305
Strength
Every gishar is born with a natural ability, depending on their island. The powers can vary, but are based on what kind of heiros the island's core is best at producing.
For example, Einjal Daju is hydrokinetic and has the ability to manipulate large bodies of water.
The strength score is how well a gishar is able to control their natural ability and how far they are able to push it, without taking in extra power from the island's core.
Max: 500 Average: 250
Dominance
The dominance value is based on the family as a whole and which one has the highest average Value for their tesinaj.
This is usually evaluated every 25 years at the Balancing Summit, unless there has been a major penalty applied to one of the families, in which case there is an immediate shift.
1st Place: 2000 2nd Place: 1500 3rd Place: 1000 4th Place: 500
Skill
For every "mastered" skill, they gain 1000 points. To earn the points, they are tested by someone who is a master in that field who has been appointed as an official gishar examiner.
Popular choices are musical instruments, weapon proficiency, and art skills.
Being trilingual is also a desired skill, as it means it'll be an easier time adjusting no matter where the gishar ends up living.
There is no maximum to how many skill points you can receive, as long as you're sure you will be able to pass the examination in order to receive them.
Average: 2000
Bonuses & Penalties
Whilst penalties can be applied to multiple generations, bonuses can only be awarded to a specific gishar. They can also be applied after a Value has been finalised by marriage, though this more for status than anything else.
Examples of bonuses:
A number of gishars received bonuses for their actions in ending the war, including Osin Solark. His bonus actually pushed him into the Pearl class, making him one of the "rarest" in generations.
Ariel Solark and Bekar Kontemno receive bonuses for having the blood type of two islands, after they proved that they could manipulate the heiros of both islands.
Ariel also received another bonus for having vitiligo, as this makes him a "child of Vasizo".
After all this is done and the gishar has received their Value, they are rewarded with two years to do with as they please. They call this their "Pavasun" which comes from "freedom years".
Most will travel around Sonhara with their new Nivada, enjoying being away from their parents for the first time in their lives. A lot of them go a bit wild and rebel during this period, with some places (like Jurin) placing bets on whether or not there will be a minor scandal.

Yeah I pretty much agree however I take a little issue with saying they are raking it in. Going off the numbers you used 12k time 5 is 60k, minus 45% is 33k. Thats one persons salary. Not a bad salary, but just one. Id bet that the 5 dollar tier probably brings in the most money, but even if we assume each tier brings in 1 salaries worth of money, how many tiers do they have? 5? 8? Youtube adds couldnt have been a major source of income for them if they were willing to pull videos off youtube. And this little fermi problem were doing here doesnt even touch on production costs. Again, I do agree with your points, but I think the boys were in a no win scenario. They were probably hurting for money, which is what motivated this. Its a shame some fans think they are being greedy when they probably just want to expand, while still paying their employees above market rate!
presumably the majority of their tax payments would be write offs or deductions because it's directly for the business. wait lol hold on my patreon math was fucked. its been a while since ive looked over the fees rates and shit. where did i get 30%. it's closer to 20.
i dont know when their patreon started, but its possible that they have the sweetheart deal that i do because i got in early. patreon fees range from 5% to 12% depending on which plan you choose. that's platform fees. then there's payment processor fees (2.9% + 0.30USD or 3.9% for outside the U.S.) and then a currency conversion fee (if applicable) and VAT (if applicable). closer to 20%. setting the record straight.
i think its unlikely that each tier brings in a salary's worth of income. im not sure i understand why they need an office in LA or large production costs considering my understanding is that most of what they do is talking to each other over a table.
im not sure why the conclusion is that youtube wasnt ever a source of income. it seems that it was (freakishly so, if its anything like other people at their scale) up until recently, due to complicated factors that i sincerely hope is heralding the end of advertising-based monetization.
it seems obvious to me that when money is tight, as would have been expected when let go from buzzfeed, you scale down and do a donation drive. instead of, you know, not throwing money into a guaranteed failure of an idea

Secret Hitler is a social deduction game where the group is separated to liberals and fascists + hitler. (Depending on how many the players are, the number of fascists will also go up, but the main idea is that the liberals should always be the majority) The main point is that the group has to vote for a president and a president has to vote for a chancellor. Then the rest of the group will vote if they like this 'combo' or not. If not, the president goes to the next person (clockwise I think?) until the majority of the votes agree to the current president and their chosen chancellor. The president then gets 3 random cards from the deck which can either be liberal or fascist. Then the chancellor would pick one of the two cards (policies which will be implemented in the flavor of the game). The goal is for one group to pass 6 cards (policies) of their faction before the other side can. That's pretty much the gist of it although there are other win conditions that gets unlocked the more fascists cards are put down on the board (like the president having the one time ability to execute someone and, if that someone is the secret Hitler, the liberals win) or a president electing the secret Hitler as the chancellor if three or more Fascists cards are on the table then the fascists win. I always assumed it's one of the more common board games but, then again, I do prefer social deduction board games so maybe that's why I know it XD Although you didn't ask, I'll still share cause I really like this game: Blood in the Clocktower can be described as "Werewolf but everyone has powers and can lie and play even after dying" Blood in the Clocktower works with the Werewolf base game that there is a 'demon' among the villagers killing people every night (although there is a demon, Lil’ Monsta, that can't kill and whoever is killed is on the whims of the storyteller) and they have minion(s) to help them and the villagers can execute someone each day until either the villagers execute the demon (minions can be alive at that point) or the bad guys (demon + minion(s)) outnumber the villagers. There's more to it and it is one of the more complicated social deduction game out there and it's better with a more experienced storyteller who can know if they should lend a helping hand to the bad guys or the good guys but it's super fun once you get the hang of it.
Especially if you get one of the most stressful roles like the Saint where if the villagers executes you, your team (good team) loses or the Damsel where if a minion call you out and say you're the damsel in front of the villagers, the bad team wins. There's also the Recluse where powers that can check if you're evil might come up as 'evil' or 'minion'. XD Here's their official site:

(Twitchtracker anon back again)
Im not really super interested in finances or statistics as a job lol, im just a nerd who likes to dig through analytics sometimes. Pretty much my whole essay length ask was made by taking twitchtracker numbers and putting them into a spreadsheet (So i didnt have to do averages manually), with some manual counting by hand for things like the number of streams.
(Also something i realized i missed when i reread my ask, the count of minecraft streams actually starts on the first day of qsmp, not the first day of march 2023 like everything else. Not super important but i wanted to make that one thing clear.)
Yeah i definitely agree that quackity's money doesnt necessarily equal qstudios money. However i also don't think a lot of the people who try and use the idea that "Quackity couldnt afford to pay that many employees" think about things like that, they most likely see quackity as the face and sole person behind his company (it is named after him after all), because you don't ever see them saying "Quackity studios cant afford to pay that many employees".
I do think that it's possible that for quite a while quackity's streams and videos were seemingly the only income stream for the company, with qsmp merch sales only really starting to be available and pushed more recently, and as far as i remember i don't think any qsmp events had sponsors or advertisers involved (I could be wrong here though, im not sure as I don't keep up with all the streams). Again im not personally a quackity viewer myself, so im not sure if he had any personal (quackity branded) merch sales outside qsmp before the start (early 2023, i know he had some back during dsmp but that's a while ago now) or during the qsmp. But from what i understand, he seemingly was doing a lot of the funding of the qsmp on his own.
Of course i don't think all his money was being directly funnelled to qstudios/qsmp, he still needs to pay for housing and utilities and food like the rest of us, as well as his travel to conventions/to meet friends (not saying he shouldn't travel, networking is an important part of any job). But i personally do believe he was basically the sole entity funding qstudios otherwise, unless there's some other income source we aren't aware of.
In regards to twitch monetization, the majority of streamers have a 50/50 split with twitch. Some bigger streamers having a 70/30 split, following the changes in late 2022 this split only applied to the first $100k earned, with everything after that going to 50/50, with that cap then being removed january 24th 2024. There's some stuff with the partner plus program that I honestly don't really understand because again, im not a streamer myself. I have no idea what split quackity has, though he is a partner. (Streamer/twitch for all split numbers btw.)
For how the payouts work, Via Twitch Affiliate Program FAQ: "As explained in the Monetized Streamer Agreement, there are certain costs, taxes, and fees that must be accounted for before you receive subscription revenue. Before the 50/50 split between you and Twitch takes place, deductions are made from the full price of a subscription, including taxes, payment processing fees, bank fees, currency conversion fees, etc. After the split takes place, we still account for required tax withholding, which is reflected in the payout you ultimately see on your dashboard. Twitch does not set or control the rates or fees, and they vary from region to region and by each subscriber’s payment method." Presumably this also applies to the partner program and the other splits.
Subs themselves are $5.99 USD, with other (usually lower when converted to USD) prices depending on the region of the subscriber. There's also ad revenue but I have no idea if quackity runs that many ads (or even runs them at all) seeing as his streams are usually 1.5-3 hours long (with the ads incentive program theres a 55/45 split of ad rev for a minimum of 3 minutes of ads per hour of stream, 30/70 otherwise), and again, not a viewer myself (I barely even watch streams live for streamers i do watch). And there's also bits, but those are a whole mess themselves so im not going to get into it.
I don't really know much about business running at all so of course everything is speculation based on the little i do know, and most of my twitch revenue info is directly from their help site, with some of the stuff about changes being from news articles about them.

The Ukrainian developers Frogwares have a long-running series based in the world’s most famous detective since 2002 and through the years it has always enjoyed a number of titles and becoming respected in the adventure game genre. In Crimes and Punishments, the seventh game of the series, they overhauled the game engine and experimented with new ideas to make the gameplay even more engaging. Drawing inspiration from titles like L.A. Noire and even the Batman Arkham’s games detective mode, it presents a healthy blend of exploration, deduction and narration.
Like the original novels, the game is divided by individual cases that can be replayed or started over once unlocked via the main menu – similar to what one would expect from an episodic title. While every case is self-contained there is an underlining arc going beneath the surface that sometimes the game makes a point in mentioning it as some grand foreshadowing about to happen or big conspiracy afoot. Each case is its own narrative and are varied as they come: the opening chapter is about a retired whaler found dead in his shed, then the next entry have Watson and Holmes witnessing a train disappear in front of their eyes in the mist, followed by a murder in Roman baths with a murder weapon that can’t be located. There are plenty of mini-games scattered throughout, the most common one is the lockpick mechanic but it can vary from the scientific experiments and moments you can control Watson to assist Holmes in certain puzzles or even use their dog to track down clues. Most of the mini-games and puzzles can be skipped if the player is stuck, as some can be more frustrating than engaging and making it slightly more accessible.
Another common mechanics is to profile the suspects and witnesses by watching the small details in their appearance and behavior, a little dirt under the fingernails or a crooked collar can reveal many things about their character. Add this to quick time events that Holmes can point out when they are lying and show the contradictions, interrogating isn’t nearly as much as a guesswork or hunch-based like L.A. Noire, it is a matter of paying attention to what is being said and there is always a prompt so it can be a little hand-holding at times. Sometimes Sherlock will flat out say what should be the next course of action, like wearing an outfit to go somewhere to gather information or how to perform an experiment.
As mentioned beforehand, there is introduction to two gameplay aspects based in the Arkham titles: Sherlock Holmes’ talent consists in a black-and-white granular filter in which he focus his attention, with anything mildly out of place highlighted in yellow. By observing it for a moment, Holmes can deduce and eventually either find new items or commit to memory. The other mechanic is the imagination, in which Holmes re-creates the scene in his mind. Both would be later expanded in Chapter One, and how much it was an improvement or bloating depends on the opinion of who is playing.
Another change from the previous title was the Deduction Mode (also present in Chapter One), in which Sherlock can link some of the evidences and make conclusions, sometimes leading to experiments or the next mission objective. After gathering enough clues and proceeding in the story, a clear picture forms in his mind and the player can select the culprit and decide to condemn or absolve. Some victims are absolute horrible people, so it comes a moral dilemma: does the killer deserves the prison? It is also very possible to pick the wrong solution and the game will ask if the player wants to commit to their decision or keep going. In the subsequent cases it is possible to double-check to see if all clues have been collected and if the real culprit was selected. There is one case that being careless with the reasoning might lead to a false verdict, but most of the time it can be very straightforward.
Speaking of dirt under the fingernails, the graphics are a highlight of this title: the facial animation and textures are incredible for a 2014 title, featuring detailed wrinkles, moles and blemishes in the skin, dirt in the clothes and so much that tells a lot about every character. This care also extends to the environments, Holmes’ apartment is incredibly detailed and full of life, the recreation of the Kew Gardens has so many beautiful plants and even the grimier streets are a feast for the eyes. It is possible to see some of the signs of dragged objects even without using Sherlock’s ability if the player is keen-eyed enough. There were a few flickering in certain shadows but it might have been the Unreal engine in the Playstation 4 hardware and might not be present in the Windows or the Switch version and it wasn’t enough to remove the immersion for too long. Even the loading screens are cleverly disguised in the carriage rides between locations and it is possible to access the deductions and the casebook to have a refresher or connect new evidence, or merely watch Sherlock and his companions.
This is a very solid title that can take around 9 to 15 hours of gameplay give or take and can carter to every individual player’s wishes: to play it all at once or one case per evening? It is very satisfying to arrive at a conclusion and none of the cases overstay their welcome. Some can be brain teasers, some can require attention but there is hardly a leap of logic like using a crowbar to remove a chewed gum from the floor. Everything is streamlined and elegant, with little fat. A highly recommended title for the fans of the genre.

Journeying into the unknown, leaving everything you know and you are familiar with behind, a strange and stranger land sucks you in, and you’re there to solve the ongoing mystery and everything stemmed from it. Good luck, private investigator.
The Sinking City opens as you come ashore on Oakmont, the town that is sinking with each passing day and experience unusual flooding coupled with unbelievable mysteries where people experience hysteria and visions. That’s hell of a (un)welcoming to you, as the player. Right there, you know you’re stepping into a town where you are always called as “newcomer”, and you cannot not feel like an outcast. We receive a letter from J. van der Berg, just going through what we should expect from Oakmont and such. The main reason our protagonist, Charles Reed, decides to visit Oakmont is that like many people in Oakmont he is afflicted with hysteria as well and maybe he can find a remedy for his illness.
We land on Oakmont, we are barely on the shore and we see that the police aren't allowing anybody going in or out from the port. Shortly we learn that the most-influential person’s, Mr. Throgmorton, son is missing and he is standing in front of the building with police where the son was last seen before missing. We explain ourselves why we came to Oakmont and he says he could help us if we solve this case of his missing son. So, right off the bat, this’s our first case to show off our excellent private investigator skills and get to learn case-related abilities like a tutorial.
As a detective, from your deductions and the evidence you find, you are to make the final decision about a case, such as the first one concerning Albert Throgmorton’s murder. Upon collecting all the evidence and matching clues, you arrive to your verdict, did Lewis murder Albert on purpose with full awareness and knowledge or was he afflicted and mentally incapacitated?
As for this case, you can watch step-by-step how you progress and make your decision:
First, you arrive the location where the incident took place, you collect evidence in the vicinity and the game will signal you that you should switch to Mind Palace so you can go back in time and watch the event unfold:

Second, after checking every step, you are to decide which event happened in what order, by clicking on them you give them a number as 1, 2 or 3, then you can progress further:

Third, then we follow the path that leads us to the suspect, Lewis in this case, and we interact and talk with him about what happened and where Albert Throgmorton is. He gives us ambiguous answers, stating that he does not remember that well and even if he’s dead he did not do anything knowingly. We locate Albert Throgmorton’s corpse nearby, hanged and killed. What’s our verdict then?

You don’t interact with NPCs you come across on streets even though the streets are filled with them. The only interaction you have with them, or I should put it as the only reaction you receive from them is, “what you doing?, “watch where you going” sort of generic feedback when you bump into them. You cannot even interact with the NPC who is selling papers, it’d be a nice touch if the character gives you a summary of what has taken place or something similar, for example a short of summary of the town, flood. The town we’re in may seem massive at first but once you get the hang of it, each district and street will appear almost identical to you except few key locations. There isn’t any landmarks and NPCs don’t add any value to locations. For example, each time I walk by one particular street I witness two characters arguing and one of them shoots the other one on exactly same location. This breaks the believability aspect for me, this action isn’t something to happen over and over again on the same location with same scenario. You can find the clip below:

What methods do you use to stay organised as a self employed artist?

I have a slot size system in place for structuring my commissions.
(XS) = extra small commission. sketch sticker / small ych. 4 (XS) = 1 (S) (S) = small commission. portrait sized. (L) = large commission. half or full body sized. 1 (L) = 2 (S) (XL) = extra large commission. illustration sized. 1 (XL) = 3 (S) (XXL) = extra extra large commission. complex illustration sized. 1 (XXL) = 5 (S)
This system makes it fairer depending on the work needed per commission. I will always base my 'slot' number on (S) small slots if I do limit slots.
If I get 4 XS on my queue, I will deduct one slot.
Using this structure alongside trello, I can work out accurately how many commissions to take each month without going over.
