Quote
For Republicans, that means making no changes to health care whatsoever, other than making it easier for companies like UHC to deny claims and screw over patients, making it harder for people to sue insurance companies, and making Americans more reliant on them by crippling public health care programs with spending cuts. For Democrats, that means leaving the status quo in place and modestly expanding Medicare while making only vague promises to “strengthen the Affordable Care Act” (ACA)—even though the intolerable status quo that internet users are eviscerating right now is a direct result of nearly fifteen years under the ACA.
Americans Hate Their Private Health Insurance

With the murder of that CEO of an insurance company I want to remind everyone:
Insurance companies are using AI to analyze claims (and we all know AIs are biased and fail)
So if you get your claim rejected APPEAL! ALWAYS! There's a high possibility they end up approving it.
Also, insurances are a fraud from start to end but if you need one make sure to read it THOROUGHLY and try not to do anything until you have their approval even if you think they'll surely approve it.
#insurance#healthinsurance#health#health problems#healthcare#insurance claims#I know this because I'm a professional translator and I've translated both public AND classified documents#I've also translated many answers to appeals that finally approved the treatment

An open letter to the U.S. Congress
Stop overfunding Medicare Advantage!
597 so far! Help us get to 1,000 signers!
At tremendous cost to taxpayers and people with Medicare, the government has overpaid Medicare Advantage plans tens of billions of dollars for more than a decade and is projected to overpay them more than $1 trillion in the next decade. Just as the government recoups overpayments to individuals it should be recouping Medicare Advantage overpayments, not rewarding them with greater revenues. In addition to driving up costs for everyone with Medicare, it is eroding the Medicare Trust Fund. I urge you to reduce MA rates to a level commensurate with Traditional Medicare and recoup all overpayments. Thanks!

Mark Christensen figured his hospital bill was a mistake.
The document from Allina Health arrived in February, stating the 61-year-old Woodbury resident owed the hospital a staggering sum — $155,493.
It made no sense, Christensen said. He had coverage through his employer from a reputable health insurer. And the need for the care was undeniable; Christensen was hospitalized for about a month for treatment of a rare and deadly blood cancer.
But his insurer, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, refused to pay because Allina hadn't obtained authorization for Christensen's transfer to a new hospital, which happened about halfway through his inpatient stay.
The company has a policy stipulating that when interfacility transfers aren't approved, all claims for care at the second hospital can be deemed not medically necessary.
This decision left Christensen responsible for the bill.
