Wow it's so amazing to see the success of the Alpine/Renault continue. Jack Doohan joins drivers like Heikki Kovalainen and Romain Grosjean to graduate to the f1 team.
It's such a shame that drivers like Fabio Carbone, Carlo van Dam, Eric Salignon, Danny Watts, Jose Maria Lopez, Loic Duval, Lucas di Grassi, Ben Hanley, Dani Clos, Nelson Panciatici, Davide Valsecchi, Jan Charouz, Ho-Pin Tung, Fairuz Fauzy, Louis Deletraz, Kevin Jorg, Oliver Rowland, Sun Yueyang, Jarno Opmeer, Sacha Fenestraz, Max Fewtrell, Christian Lungaard, Arthur Rougier, Leonardo Lorandi, Yifei Ye, Caio Collet, and Olli Caldwell never got their chance in f1.
(I'm really happy Jack has got the Alpine seat but find it very funny he's really the first junior they've graduated to f1 since Grosjean when they have basically the biggest academy)

ngl this mclaren situation is incredibly interesting.
it's messy because they know they might not be fighting for wdc and wcc next season like they are now, so getting both or at least one this season is important to the team, but if they completely favor norris (who has been with them for years, contract ends in ~27) and demand oscar to be the second driver and give up his wins so that his teammate could win, they're compromising the "future of their team" like stella has said oscar is, and his contract ends in 26. oscar's definitely on many teams' radar. but not backing up the driver who has been with the team for so long, who you considered the future and no1 at least at the start of the season, it's a real shitty thing to do, and will cost the relationship with norris, who i'm sure other teams would like to have as well.

f1 twitter is convinced mclaren forced daniel at gunpoint to not adapt to the car and flop 🤨 the train of logic behind "yes we want the driver we paid tens of millions for to Not perform well so we fall behind a tightly contested constructors battle for 4th vs alpine which is a 30 million $ difference" make it make senseeeeee

how do you cope with this carlos-hate between the lines here on tumblr? btw love following you for your good vibes and funny tags
Hello, sweet anon ❤️
Tbh some days are harder than others! I like to think I’ve gotten a lot better at simply not logging on when I expect there to be those sorts of posts - also making sure that the blogs I follow are the only ones I wanna see on my tl. Sometimes, like earlier today, I just channel my energy into making gifs and only come on tumblr to post those and leave lol
Obviously, I still see stuff if I go looking in his tag or something slips thru the cracks, and some days I write out a whole rant and then delete it (it can be v therapeutic just to type your feelings, even if you never post it). Also having someone/people who I can talk to about it can be pretty helpful. Or even revisiting a Carlos thing that makes you smile! I’ll sometimes just go thru his tag on my blog and inevitably something silly he did will make me laugh and I feel (mostly) better 😂❤️
Other than that, I think just recognizing that everyone’s opinions are just that - opinions! Pro sports is one of the areas in life that people can be the most opinionated/vocal/vitriolic about online but it’s bc it inspires such passion in people. Personally, I like to channel my passion for f1 in positive ways - it makes me a happier person and it’s the whole ‘be the change you want to see’ in the fandom philosophy haha
I hope some of this is helpful ❤️ you can always come to me if you’re needing someone to talk to or wanna just toss something in my inbox to take your mind off of things!

in an older post (Top 5 Brocedes moments) you said that back in 2008 Nico had a favourite Brit and it (probably) wasn’t Lewis and Lewis had a favourite German (Adrian Sutil) but it (probably) wasn’t Nico. This got me wondering who was the favourite Brit and why that person? Sorry for bringing this up but the question won’t leave my head.
Hi! I’m going to be honest I actually cannot for the life of me remember who I was talking about in that post but if I had to guess I think the favorite Brit (in terms of people on the grid/associated with f1) might have been Jenson? Just based on what I could tell from the research I had done (doing activities off-the-grid together, general camaraderie)… I think I said that based more on how the media would sometimes play up the friendship between Nico and Lewis and how their level of friendship during that period in time (pre-Mercedes) actually (probably) wasn’t as best-friends-since-childhood as ppl make it out to seem…
