Alright, well. It seems i will not be getting any further context on this ask so I'll be responding to it as is. I don't usually get confrontational on this blog, or articulate my positions in such a way, but i did this time.
TLDR; These terms are rarely, if ever, used to describe people not liking certain taboo subjects. They're used when people try to bully others into not making, posting, or enjoying fiction with taboo themes by moralizing fiction and insinuating your taste in fiction says something about your morals. And you know this, and you understand that it's disingenous to frame what is happening in this way, but you decided to do it anyways.
Rant below the cut.
We live in a society in which puritanical values and purity culture have a heavy presence. In recent years, like maybe the past 10 years or so I'd say, fandom spaces have become more and more popular in every day life to the point that its now just a part of pop culture instead of this niche interest/hobby. Even if they weren't as popular, we are people and we cannot entirely separate ourselves from the environments we live in. It is completely and utterly expected that these ideas and values that people hold are going to bleed into these spaces. We exist in real life. The people engaging in fandom are real people. The people calling and being called these terms are not like… erasing the other meanings of those phrases because people use them in fandom spaces.
Stop acting like people are wrong to make comparisons to other forms of moral control and enforcement of moral purity. Control over fiction/fantasy, especially as it relates to sexuality, has always been a part of purity culture and puritanism. The focus on being morally pure has become more and more prevalent recently too, and it's very present in this fandom.
It's not innacurate to use the word "policing" to describe accusing people of being evil and morally corrupt for creating or enjoying content you aren't comfortable with and then demanding they stop creating/engaging with it. Not liking fictional dark content doesn't make you more morally upstanding than those who do.
It's not purity culture to dislike dark fictional subjects, or even fictional sexual themes that are actually immoral or harmful in real life, and people shouldn't be calling each other the "morality police" over personal preferences. But that's not what people are doing most of the time, now is it? I wish that was the case, but 9 times out of 10, its not. I think we both know that its inaccurate and disingenuous to frame what is happening as such. They are not voicing their dislike for such content, they're voicing their desire for it to not exist, this isn't the same thing.
Like and dislike whatever you want, SFW or NSFW, i don't care, but stop acting like this content existing is inherently harmful, and stop moralizing it. Artists have a job when posting their art anywhere, which is to tag and warn correctly. Your job as someone engaging with it is to curate your own experiences. Block, filter, mute, all of that jazz. Ignoring the tags/warnings and reading stuff anyways (or taking the risk to read if there are none) makes you liable for your own reaction. It's not our job as creatives to coddle you and only ever make/post content that you're comfortable with. Discomfort is not harm, and even when harm is being done (triggering or causing distress to someone), that harm is not something that is inherent to the art itself.
Like listen, child x adult (or child x child) content, especially NSFW, makes me uncomfortable. I don't read it and I actively filter it out, but I also understand that it's fictional. Art has the right to exist, and creatives have the right to create. As long as creators are doing their job to tag their content, then it's not my place (or anyone else's) to tell them to stop making art that i don't enjoy. We all understand this when it's outside of taboo sexual themes.
But we have people going around calling each other "degenerates" (you know… the word heavily associated with fascism, used to describe people or ideas that are causing the downfall of western society), telling each other to "seek help" over writing something we don't like, empathy trolling, sending death threats, suicide baiting, threatening to doxx each other, all over some words about some fucking magical dudes. (double entendre intended)
We shouldn't be aiming to shame, coerce, or otherwise pressure people into censoring their own creative outlets. Aiming to annihilate the existence of stuff you don't like is literally just censorship. Advocating for sites like AO3 to not allow certain content on their site doesn't make anyone "safer" from that stuff, it only makes you more likely to see it untagged and not be able to filter it out, then the sites themselves just become a hellscape to navigate if you have ANY kinds of triggers. This doesn't make anyone safer from avoiding content they find uncomfortable.
We have legal protections over the creation and posting of fictional content for a reason. We know for a fact that every single time we give an inch to entities to censor content online, they take a mile. If you want to protect the fiction you like and enjoy, you have to protect the stuff you don't.
Also:
Morality: "conformity to ideals of right human conduct" (subjective) Policing: "one attempting to regulate or censor a specified field or activity" (we all know what "police" means) Purity: "the quality or state of being pure" (subjective) Culture: "the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group" "Morality Police" and "Morality Police" mean two different things. As do "Purity Culture" and "Purity Culture". People should understand that, because words and phrases often have several meanings. Both definitions of these phrases are slightly different from each other, but they both make sense and are valid. Context in language should provide you enough information to understand what meaning is being used in the conversation. Using one definition to describe the behavior of people in fandom spaces does not subtract from the other definition of these phrases. This is not a hard concept to grasp. You wouldn't tell someone not to use the phrase "fashion police" because there are places in the world where actual police enforce legality over how people can and cannot dress.
I am begging fandom people to stop taking real world terms like purity culture and morality police and use them in reference to people liking or not liking "taboo themes" in fiction, morality police are real and incredibly harmful IN REAL LIFE away from fanfiction and media, purity culture is a REAL WORLD thing, that affects and harms ppl and children in real life, they are not fandom terms. it is not purity culture or morality policing to dislike pedo fantasy fanfic or incest porn or whatever. PLEASE
May i ask what post you’re responding to??? Im very confused as to what prompted this and id like to know before i go on to respond to this ask in full /gen

New AO3 Tag Wrangling Policy and the Transformers Fandom
Edit in the event people come back to the original post: Please do not email AO3 about this issue. See their response about this issue!
(This is a long one, folks, but I think it's important.)
A new tag-wrangling policy on AO3 has the potential to create some massive confusion and chaos in the Transformers fanfic community, with regards to fandom tags. There is a Reddit post about it here with a focus on anime fandoms, but I want to give some concrete examples for the Transformers fandom on why we DO NOT WANT this, and why I think it's a horrible idea.
The Problem
Basically, AO3 is looking to get rid of the "All Media Types" fandom tag across the board, either by dismantling them or just not maintaining them. The Transformers - All Media Types tag has been an all-purpose tag that you could select when your story doesn't fall into any one specific continuity. Additionally, all most (see below) TF continuities on AO3 are considered a subtag of the Transformers - All Media Types tag. For example, if you look at the link above for all works in the All Media Types tag, you will see fics that are also tagged ONLY with Transformers: Animated, because it falls under the All Media Types tag.
Tumblr media
One exception: With the upcoming Transformers: One movie coming out imminently, there will likely be a big influx of stories tagged with Transformers: One. In fact, there are several already. However, it hasn't been linked to the larger Transformers - All Media Types tag yet. I wasn't worrying about it though, because I know these things can take time.
With information about this new tagging policy, however, I'm now wondering whether it'll EVER get linked to the All Media Types tag. If that happens, and when more continuities are developed in the coming years (since you know Hasbro loves creating new universes) this has the potential to cause massive confusion when looking for stories to read.
Searching for Stories with the New Tagging System
So let's say the All Media Types fandom tag isn't accurate anymore, because it no longer includes ALL of the continuities (such as TF:One). You will need to include ALL the Transformers continuities when browsing for TF fics.
How many tags is that? Well, here are all of the tags currently listed under the Transformers - All Media Types tag:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note that this doesn't include Transformers: One since it hasn't been categorized yet.
You will potentially have to have 40 or more different fandom tags in your search, just in case the author tagged their story with something you weren't expecting.
This massively decreases the findability of a story.
Tagging with the New System
The email response from the Tag Wrangling group (see the linked Reddit post above) seems to be a bit flip in the response to the user's concern. "...encourages creators to tag with the media they intend."
While I appreciate what they are attempting to do, this policy change feels like a solution in search of a problem, especially in larger fandoms with multiple continuities, versions, and media types that are all cross-pollinated in both canon and fanon. While I'm focusing on Transformers fandom, imagine a creator in the DC comic universe writing a story that incorporates bits and pieces from a dozen different reboots.
For example, let's say that I am writing a fic about Ratchet. I am using the setting of the original G1 episodes, but I also am using the characterization of him as a bit of an old man grump. That characterization originated in the Animated continuity, but I want to incorporate bits of pieces of his other characterizations as well (old friend of Optimus from TFP, Ratchet ran a faction-free clinic like he did in the War for Cybertron series, he's got a Decepticon boyfriend like in IDW1 - or maybe even Cyberverse, etc.)
With this new tagging structure, I might potentially have to tag the story with ALL of those continuities. So instead of just slapping down the "All Media Types" tag (and maybe one other fandom tag that matches the characters as best I can), I'll have to analyze my story and try to figure out how best to tag for the characters I used.
And what if you're doing a completely AU version of the story? For example, a humanformers story, or merformers? Using the All Media Types tag along with a Alternate Universe - Human or Alternate Universe - Mermaid tag worked perfectly, since you weren't writing the story to fit into one specific continuity. But now, that might not be an option.
What To Do??
The first thing I would suggest is to contact AO3 (using the Feedback and Support page) and let them know (nicely) that you think this is a horrible idea. Give them some examples on how you use the All Media Types tag to find stories to read, or to help you tag a story. People outside of the Transformers fandom don't always appreciate how absolutely tangled the continuities can be with each other, and providing examples might help them see why this would be a really messy change.
Readers: Be aware that when you are looking in the All Media Types tag, it will no longer show newer continuities. And if AO3 starts dismantling that tag like they suggested they are doing, be aware that some stories won't show up in that tag like they used to. You can also create and then bookmark a custom search page that includes all 40+ continuities. REALLY annoying, but it's a workaround.
Writers: Until they start dismantling the All Media Types tag, ALWAYS ALWAYS tag your stories using Transformers - All Media Types... Especially for newer continuities. This will be especially important if you are writing a Transformers: One story. Right now, anyone who is only browsing the All Media Types tag will not see a story tagged only with Transformers: One. Make sure you're aware of how tags work and how they can affect the visibility and findability of your story.
Epilogue
Ugh. That's a lot of words for a long-weekend Saturday. And maybe I'm overreacting a tiny bit. But my work involves information architecture, and this change just absolutely baffles me. It's almost as though they want to make it harder to find stories. Considering that AO3 won a Hugo partially because of its fantastic tagging system, this change seems like AO3 is doing its best to shoot itself in the foot.
When you have a square hole, a round hole, and a rectangular hole… Yeah, you DO want each peg to go in the "right" hole. But if all of the pegs fit in the square hole, who cares? You got the job done.
I love you @ao3org, but please reconsider this change... Especially for IPs that are as old and are as varied as Transformers.

how should I go about looking for fonts? what fonts are your go-to for scanlation? you clearly know a lot about this topic :>
I had a bit of deja vu about this "what fonts are your go-to for scanlation", and turns out I got this question before... from you, not to mention. Though I can add a bit of commentary anyway, as there's a bunch of resources I either forgot to mention or I wasn't aware of at the time.
mangafonts.carrd.co - lists a bunch of fonts and an example of how they're used in official manga translations, of which the letterers are more likely to be competent than an average scanlator.
Vorbis' Typesetting Guide - this one is pretty old (2004), so keep it in mind, but it includes a font review section from someone who is way more opinionated on this topic than me, and reading through these reviews can give you some idea about what problems can a font have in the first place.
Sara's Fonts on Ko-Fi - free fonts for commercial and non-commercial use
Comicraft, Blambot - paid fonts, dedicated to comics
Kimberly Geswein - paid fonts, various decorative ones
DaFont - font catalog, fonts grouped by category, general purpose
For scanlation I've been using a collection of fonts findable on MangaDex forums on a thread titled "Scanlation Font Resource", but this one is ‍🏴‍☠️
For purposes of comics you likely want to pick a "main font" for text (and reuse that one for thought bubbles, hence the requirement for the font to provide an italic version rather than relying on Faux Italic), a "shout font", a "side font" if there are going to be side remarks done outside of the bubble, and a bunch of side fonts for sound effects, signs, and other decorative texts (like chapter titles or similar)

Who you think fell first, Who fell the hardest, and Who confess first?
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooOOooOOOOO~
I think Alice fell first cause she is obviously the first to be like 'woah, he is cute' even if it was just in her subconsciousness at first 🤣🤣
while Norton was just "mm bread,// huh I just now noticed your presence at the table,// wow you ask too many questions" PFF
But her noticing, after they have been through some wild escapes together and realizing she can count on him, feelings began trickling in heh
--------
Norton 1000000000000000000000000000000% would fall the hardest lol
I can see it taking him so loooong though pff
He likely wouldn't even consider a real relationship even possible for him, until after Alice makes her feeling known, and this leaving him baffled and having to attempt to consider what feelings he is hiding from himself
but
Once he figures out "I want her to be my partner, my family" it would finally click that he is head over heels for her and has been for a while~
-------
And I think Alice would confess first. (cause Norton doesn't have a darn clue lol) I can see her leaving a note for him with an orange near the Christmas season And then high-key spying on him to see how he reacts
(if it was literally anyone else I can see him being like "yea sure whatever, great joke :/" but since it is ALICE!! It might shock him a bit cause he would know there is no way this is some kind of mean joke. That this is legit; that Alice actually feels this way)
But her seeing his eyes widen and swallowing hard before looking around the room as he folds up the note to place it in his back pocket, and then picking up the orange to quickly flee the scene
This leaving Alice not sure how to interpret that lol Alice: "he didn't immediately throw the note away, so I suppose that is a good sign"
Then not knowing what to do next, Alice just goes about her day, only to notice she hasn't seen Norton at all since the note and this concerning her that she may have ruined the partnership they had, but still hoping Norton will at least say something about it.
So in an effort to make herself findable she waits around, looking like she is reading in hard to miss places lol purposely choosing rooms that one has to go through or pass to get to the kitchen or outside or other usually frequented areas lol
but still nothing, and its getting late. So, she gets ready for bed and in her nightgown only to then hear a knock at her door. Confused, she grabs her candle and opens the door, only to see Norton there with his hair combed, with a folded note, and a box with some string tied around it to keep it from falling open.
Norton: "I appreciated the orange, and..." -clears throat- "happy early Christmas" -hands her the note and the box and hurries away-
Alice will find the note expresses something along the lines of "be patient with me, but I think I am accepting your feelings. I find that I want to stay by your side no matter what your feelings for me are. So, it is good that your feelings, about my presence beside you, are...positive"
and the box includes a freshly polished gemstone that she recalls that he found a little while back and was quite fond of it. So this speaks volumes to Alice, that he feels the same, even though he doesn't fully realize it yet.
hehehe

The Pocket Trick Touch #5 - Single - Between Door Windows
(For reference: Earthly Objects | The Pocket Trick - Basics)
Tumblr media
General
This new version of this post is designed to go with The Sideburns Scheme posts. You can still find the older version of a main post here: The Pocket Trick - Single.
...
This one is really, really difficult. It is beyond me in various ways. I suspect it is intended to partly show, by contrast, why it matters that Crowley is so still during The Door Trick because in this one, he keeps moving. It might also mean to show some aspects of the reflection mechanics. One arm crosses over the other, so it might be trying to communicate something important about Crowley's legs being crossed during The Door Trick. Regardless, I don't get these aspects, just sense that is the intent.
Despite that, this touch was also the biggest clue that I should go back and look at the touches again to start Round 2 of the Threshold Tricks. That leads to figuring out the touches in The Pocket Trick have Touch Points, Pocket Frames, a Pocket Chain, and Findable Rainbows.
...
Here are GIFs of the touch:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...
Pocket Preamble
This touch has a scene that I think of as a Pocket Preamble since I don't consider the touch to truly start until Crowley's left arm is aligned with the window frame of the broken window.
The Pocket Preamble has a Pocket Frame of Standing Chandeliers for Beelzebub and Gabriel.
Here is the cut:
Tumblr media
Here is my guess for that Pocket Frame's Touch Point:
Tumblr media
...
Pocket Frame
Tumblr media
The Pocket Frame is Door Windows, possibly even Grid Door Windows. To keep it simple, I say Door Windows.
...
Touch Point
Tumblr media
My guess for the Touch Point is when Crowley's thumb has a visual touch to the car window frame behind him. He is using the Pocket Chain to allow the touches he has on the actual door and alert an audience player that Touch Points exist at all. This Touch Point is close to the end of the cut for the touch, but it's ensured to be before the last video frame.
...
The Hinge
Tumblr media
The hinge is with a left thumb CMC joint, watch, and alignment of the jacket with the actual door being touched.
Usually, the hinges aim for the jacket directly, but this one has one pocket in use, instead of two, an actual building door being touched, and has Crowley being the one to open the door.
...
Pocket Chain
The previous touch had a Pocket Frame of Car Windows, so that's the most recent link in Crowley's Pocket Chain.
The Pocket Chain has a big role here as what probably allows Crowley to touch the door in the way that he does with his left hand. A car window is visually behind him.
He does not touch only the door panel. His left thumb and its shadow touch the astragal. His left fingers touch the astragal and panel with his index finger managing a touch on a push plate edge in the process.
...
Overhead Lights
The Overhead Lights are part of the difficulty of this touch.
Much like the Double, there is a prominently displayed earthly object with a reflective surface to Crowley's left. This time, the object is a standing chandelier.
Unlike the Double, however, Crowley is moving during the pocket touch. As he moves, near the end of the cut, a reflective surface appears above Crowley's left side of his head.
Another difference possibly related to this Overhead Light is that Crowley's mouth is open, and he doesn't talk during this touch either.
So, is that to indicate that reflective surface is the Overhead Light for both heads? I don't know. There are lights above and to the left the Belt Head that are visible through the window, so it at least has something else if I'm wrong.
And if that's the case, then why is Crowley's mouth open? Crowley is extremely particular about his play with his pocket touches in this game, so he's definitely doing that on purpose.
...
Findable Rainbow
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The findable rainbow is on the standing chandelier. It is animated, and not all colors are on screen at a given time because of that animation.
Finding it, for me, was the biggest clue that there are rainbows meant to be found for each touch. By the time I spotted this rainbow, I was grasping that there is a ridiculous level of attention to detail The Pocket Trick requires to be solved in Round 2.
...
Rainbow Connection
(For reference: The Pocket Chain Rainbow Connection Part 3)
The Rainbow Connection starts on Red and switches to Orange. The hardest part is that I can't figure out if there is a switch from Red #1 to Red #2 (or a two-part switch), as there was for Purple.
The Door Trick will show that Yellow needs two switches, but The Door Catch will be allowed a switch to Blue and Purple at the same time.
If there is such an extra switch, it happens here:
Tumblr media
...
The below frame is the one I most strongly suspect as a Rainbow Connection Reflection. While this touch lacks reflections of anyone that I can find, the watch's reflective surface lights up with this line and a car mirror is likely becoming visible through the window pane, for the car behind Crowley.
Tumblr media
...
Tied Hands
If the Tied Hands require any word puzzle tying assistance from the preamble, they get it from "bell, book, and candle."
At least one clasp and tassel is visible when Crowley is walking by the broken window.
The tie strands swing off the jacket so much that the tassels twist themselves together and touch a window pane that is going to be part of the Pocket Frame.
After that, the tie strands swing back into Crowley's chest.
Clasps can be seen above Crowley's left hand while he opens the door. Once the left arm obscures the clasps, those clasps stay covered by the left arm.
While I cannot satisfactorily confirm for myself if the tie strands switch which strand is tied to which hand, I can at least say it is more clear the left-most tassel is tied to the left hand after my guess for when a Rainbow Connection Reflection happens.
...
Belt Head
The Belt Head is becomes visible while the door is being opened.
...
The Other Apparel
Jacket:
The jacket's main job is to create pockets with the door and receive the hinge touch from the watch while those sleeve pockets are happening with the left arm. It also visually passes over the door to Crowley's left.
...
Vest: The vest is playing its role as a "thumb lock" in that Crowley's right vest tip is touching the right hand while the left hand is busy touching the door. This right vest tip gets very close to touching Crowley's actual right thumb tip. When this vest tip is progressively moving its touch off the right thumb, Crowley's actual left thumb is progressively moving its touch off the door.
Shirt: The right shirt sleeve is partially out, but I don't know its role here.
Watch: The watch's role in this touch is very strong. It transfers the hinge touch, and it's probably managing the Rainbow Connection mechanics based on when its reflective surface is lit.
Pants: Not much of the pants are shown during this touch. There's mainly enough to confirm the touch involves the right pants pocket. The pants are also used to create a small pocket with the door.
Shoes: Crowley's shoes are not visible at all during this touch.
...
Actual Hands
Left Hand:
The actual left hand is very busy this touch because it is the hand opening the door. The hinge is transferred before the left hand touches the door.
The thumb touches the astragal but is receiving some assistance from its shadow. It is visually off the touch from the door once the left-most tassel is hidden in Crowley's jacket. This thumb is responsible for the illusionary touch on the car window frame behind Crowley. After that Touch Point, the thumb hides from view.
The index finger touches the lower part of a push plate on the door. This matches with an area of where Crowley's left sleeve aligned with the push plate on the door to his left during the hinge touch. With Crowley's movement, he does something with that index finger, as if trying to pinch the door but being unable to do such a thing. Eventually, the index finger is off the push plate and touching the door panel.
The middle finger and ring finger touch the astragal and door panel with the middle finger being on the other side of the edge of the push plate Crowley's index finger is touching. These two fingers keep to touching those parts of the door once Crowley has placed his hand on the door.
The pinky finger touches the astragal and door panel. However, after the left thumb has created a pocket with itself and the door as it starts to pull away, the pinky finger follows suit by creating a pocket. It eventually pulls off the door panel but aligns itself and shadow with the astragal instead. It is clearly not touching its shadow at the Touch Point. Then the astragal darkens enough to make it hard to tell if that's still happening for the last few video frames of the cut. It looks like the pinky finger is touching its shadow on the astragal by the last video frame of the cut.
The goal for the fingers might be to earn two Triple multipliers since there are two different instances of three fingertips on the door panel. The first instance includes the middle, ring, and pinky fingers. The second instance includes the index, middle, and ring fingers.
This touch is just plain too difficult for me, but that's still my guess since Crowley is an expert. He presumably has a reason for managing his index finger the way he does.
...
Right Hand:
The right hand keeps to being mostly pocketed with the vest tip managing its own touch over Crowley's left thumb.
...
Human Assistance
Human assistance is less obvious this time around but is most notable in that a human is driving the car being used for the Pocket Chain mechanics.
...
Sequential
I consider the touch to officially start with Crowley's left arm aligned with a window frame of the broken window of the bookshop. As he is walking, a car is to his right. That car has a car window he is going to use for from the Pocket Chain to let him touch the door. Part of his jacket is indeed layered over the window frame.
Crowley's arms are positioned such that both hands could be in pockets or maybe his left hand is in his left pocket, and he's putting his right hand in his right pocket. You can only guess since you can't see his hands or his pants.
Muriel is shown on screen. I suspect Muriel is silently assisting with their all-white uniform though sadly, I cannot figure out exactly what their assistance does. They could be holding the Red for the Rainbow Connection until Crowley's aligned with part of his incoming Pocket Frame. Or, they could be holding something about the Pocket Chain with the car window.
Crowley appears through the windows on the door to the camera's right. There are 6 window panes total, but he makes sure his own actual head does not go as high up as the two window panes at the top.
He is mostly but not fully hidden from view as he passes behind where the doors meet each other.
The door on the camera's left also has 6 window panes. Crowley does place his head visually in the top-most window pane to the camera's right of that door. He keeps himself visually away from the 3 window panes on the other side that is the camera's left and his right.
As Crowley starts to open the door, his vest can be seen as partially visually touching his right hand that is not confirming its pocket touch yet.
The tassels that are the thumbs of his Tied Hands touch the lowest window pane. Crowley's mouth is covered by one of the window frames.
His actual right hand is visible and will soon be clear enough to confirm he has his right fingers in his right pants pocket.
As Crowley opens the door, pockets are formed between himself and that door.
Soon after, the hinge touch happens. The left thumb joint links with the watch as the door is being opened. At that moment, Crowley has 3 pockets made with the door and his own left side. Meanwhile, three other pockets are created among the other door's windows and Crowley's right side.
The watch looks like it is touching the left sleeve which is actually making a vertex touch to the door on Crowley's left at his elbow. In fact, that touch is near a push plate, which is what the index finger is going to mess with on the other door.
The car following along with Crowley is still behind him, and it is most likely why he is allowed to actually touch the astragal as much as he does for this touch.
The left hand starts to open the door and touches the astragal. The left thumb is definitely touching the astragal, and the shadow seems to be managing whatever might be happening with what the left thumb tip is allowed to do. Meanwhile, the index fingertip touches a push plate at a lower edge. The other fingertips touch the door panel with the middle finger being close to the push plate edge with the index finger. Meanwhile, the proximal phalanges of these fingers are touching the astragal. The tie has been successfully blocked from being fully in view.
Crowley's right thumb and Belt Head become visible between the doors.
Crowley's watch is visible and his left side of his jacket is appearing over the door to Crowley's left.
As he keeps moving, it becomes more clear that his right vest tip is touching his right thumb, and that his left arm overall is crossing visually over his right arm.
The watch's reflective surface lights up with that possible switch for Red #1 going up for the Rainbow Connection, to Red #2 for starting to go down.
A tassel of the tie appears below Crowley's left arm immediately after that moment.
He keeps moving with his body showing up more in front of the door to his left. The watch receives a more clearly defined moment of being lit with a white line going across its reflective surface. There is a more evident red alert light for the Rainbow Connection. His left thumb MCP joint is lined up over the edge of the door. The right vest tip is visually over the right thumb's MCP joint. So, that's probably the Rainbow Connection Reflection.
After that, it's also more clear the left-most tassel is tied to the left hand.
The reflective surface of an earthly object that could be the indoor Overhead Light appears above Crowley's left side of his head.
With his continued movement, the Touch Point happens involving the left thumb and the car window behind him.
I suspect it is the last video frame of the cut when the Rainbow Connection switches from Red to Orange.

Minor Demo Update (No New Content!)
Hi everyone,
I've updated the demo once again but not with any new content - this is mainly to address some readability issues with the cosmetics selection in the early sections of the game that I was made aware of recently.
Hair colour and texture options have been put in the same page now, as well as having a subtitle on that page to signify its purpose like with name selection. I hope this improves readability and findability for these particular elements.
This isn't something worth restarting for as it doesn't change any variables, only when they appear in the story. If you're starting fresh you will notice the change though.

Happy STS, Claire!
At which point of the writing process do you decide on a title? How do you find one? Does it just come to you, or do you spend a long time looking for the right one? Do you keep projects under a WIP title before that point? If so, what's the biggest change between WIP and final title you've had so far?
Happy ST(F)! Thanks for the ask, Elli! Yes, it does sometimes "just come to me," but sometimes it takes a while to "just come to me."
My first novel, which I don't really talk about much because it's over a decade old now and I'm over it, went through two different titles. The first one was awful and I'm not going to mention it out of embarrassment. I retitled it when I decided to "publish" it as an ebook under a different name I thought was better, although I'm also not going to mention that because it's technically still up somewhere and findable (shudder). Moving on! 😅
The Adored went through a few different titles, but then again, it also started out as an adult literary fiction book rather than a YA romantic thriller, so that's to be expected. Originally it was Prodigy in Babylon, which to this day is my favorite title that I've ever come up with, and I still regret not being able to use it. Luckily, The Adored is my second favorite title that I've ever come up with. That book has a good track record with titles!
Good Slaves Never Break the Rules, not so much. I didn't actually decide on that title until basically the moment I posted Chapter 1 on A03, despite having started writing it 6 years earlier. I had originally thought the title would be something with the word "chains" in it, because, makes sense, right? But I had never really settled on what that would be, exactly. And that was also the name of the WIP file/document for a long time -- actually, funny story, I reversed some of the letters on purpose so it actually read "Chasin," which means nothing, but sometimes I'll write somewhere with other people around and I didn't want anyone to see it and start asking awkward questions.
I've said before that I was never really 100% on board with the GSNBTR title, mainly because it is SO on the nose, but I'm pretty much stuck with it now (considering I already have the cover design). And on the bright side, it made the name for the sequel really easy to come up with. But the problem there is that I may end up breaking up GSNBTR into a 3 book series for publishing purposes, in which case I'll have to steal the title I had intended for the sequel and use it for the second book in the series (and then come up with a third one).😅

even just four years ago googling mechanical engineering reference info was a pretty solid bet. common formulae (especially those with empirically-determined coefficients) were easy to find; you could usually find a page for some calculations with an explicit formula and a little built-in calculator; common material properties were findable in the top couple hits of a search. now an unfortunate fraction of searches turn up SEO-optimized, content-farm generated drivel which takes a three-variable equation with a coefficient and literally walks you through "first you find the first number. and you divide it by the whatever. then you take the temperature and you subtract the ambient temperature. then you multiply that by your first value. the you add the coefficient. and then check your work with the calculator on this page :) and try building your own AI-powered calculator with our system sometime!" GNASHING OF TEETH this is the dumbest shit in existence. it's a formula that you've managed to turn into multiple pages of content delivered straight into my adblocker.
this is part of why actual reference texts are unfortunately useful. their purpose is to be appropriately concise. but I really do mourn the days when a dumb close-to-plaintext site would have nice equations or tables and not AI-generated nonsense.
it would be cool if we had more streamlined, like, AI-optimized FEA tools where there's a lot of real value in tuning the model before you start a super compute-heavy load study or modal analysis that takes 24hr to run. y'know. using the optimizing tool for optimization jobs. instead of using it to prolong the view time of ads I don't see for stuff I don't want

WIP Wednesday Thursday Game (by @kedreeva)
It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.
Here’s how it works:
In a reblog of this post (so people can find you in the notes) or new thread (w/ rules attached) if you want to play on your own, post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs; not titles, file names.
Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to play!
After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can't share from (for example, an event or gift fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.
That’s it! You can invite others to join in, or just post. I’ll be searching the reblogs to find people to send asks to!
If you’re reading this, you’re invited!
If you see someone posting a WIP Wednesday Game snippet, send them an ask! Make them write.
Let's try this again, without the long ass post of all the other weeks!
The Titles!

SNIPPET: TSTMTT thrett
Theo started whining again, though his throat was raw, and each sound was like someone was dragging claws over the inside of his trachea. Before Brett made it anywhere near the cave mouth, he smelled the wolf, and the flurry of furious wailing howls in his head rose louder. The pitch of his own whine drove nails through his ribs as they contracted, stabbing into his repeatedly with every breath he tried to take. He sounded lost and scared, sentiments echoed in his chemosignals, as much as he was trying to tamp them down.  Hiding meant being invisible in all ways: sight, sound, and smell. Normally, he was infallible on all accounts, his dark coat blending into shadows while his innate control took over, obfuscating him in the remaining ways. He shouldn’t be findable. For all intents and purposes, he could disappear, and yet, here he was, being tracked by two wolves, cornered in his — Malia’s — den.
Tagging more friendos because I live to cause chaos!

my take on the book shelving discourse is 1) the purpose of classification systems is so that items within a large collection with multiple users taking items in and out all the time can stay findable, so a personal collection doesn't absolutely NEED a system and 2) as a librarian i am not gonna come home and then do my job at home. like come on

Hii! Ooms anon (back from dead by capitalism)
https://www.tumblr.com/caralara/715651394075541504/nopee-but-even-on-his-finsta-harry-doesnt-show?source=share
I know we shouldn't feed the trolls but seriously?!
That finsta is closed and only followed by people he's friend/friendly with and work in the industry in some way. Including his sister.
There's no other family, nor any of the boys or his band or his non-famous friends.
If you want to keep something secret you don't give clues in a place where everybody can check who is following you.
And that's the reason why I do agree about him not having a friends-only circle in the Harry Styles ™ account. It's a unnecessary risk for his closet. And that's why I think all those "Oops I slipped, I wasn't planning to publish it for everybody" stories were done on purpose.
Hope you're having a good few weeks my friend! And I do have to agree with that anon that dragged you about liking long hair Louis ;) 😛. (For what it's worth, my unpopular take is that I hate the quiff lol)
Ooms anon!!!! Beloved!!!
Welcome back from the quagmire of capitalism
I completely agree!! I also believe the “finsta isn’t an actual private insta account but for a step between work life and private life, to basically give his industry acquaintances etc a more exclusive access to him. And yes - it’s being used as a pr tool as well, findable by fans and followed by stunts.
Also it’s okay to have different opinions yours is wrong long hair louis is exquisite 🫶🏼

do you do "source calls", at a lack of a better word?
This is something I've been thinking about, here's kind of my thing.
The purpose of this blog os to educate people who may be misinformed on what it's like to be a problematic factive. My biggest worry is that if I'm constantly answering questions from people who want to meet a Hitler factive or trying to hit back up with an old partner in crime, people my not be willing to search beyond that for the educational posts. Especially if my ask box becomes filled with these types of asks and I get few others.
What I can do, if you all are interested in it, is make one "source posting masterpost" blog, where you would send in any kind of sourcecall and I would add it to the masterpost, link the masterpost in my pinned post and you all would just have to keep up with it if you posted an ask.
My biggest worry with that idea is I don't kno how willing people would be to comment, make themselves findable, not anon, whatever would have to be done for a sourcecall to really... work.
