while im on the topic of transing geats characters: i find ace being genderfluid is like core to his character. bc like if youre going with the reincarnation thing theres no way he was a dude every single time and even if he was hes a pathologically curious person and would not be able to stand spending 2000+ years exclusively as a man.
and if youre going with my personal idea that mitsume sent him to the future as she was about to be persecuted for breaking the navigator rules, thus making him into not just a wish baby but a chosen one, its kinda funny that hes just regularly trans on top of that

KAMEN RIDER GEATS
-One of the most recent of the Kamen rider series and a very cool epic one too! Awesome suits, great characters, a twisting turning plot and LOTS of action!
-
Premise: Unbeknownst to us, a secrect competition, THE DGP: THE DESIRE GRAND PRIX, is held where, everyday normal people are chosen, given transformation buckles and become Kamen Riders! Using various power up buckles, they compete against each other in various challenges, battling strange otherworldly invaders called the Jyamato! The one lasts to the end and wins the final challenge receives the grand prize: their greatest desire granted!
-Ace Ukiyo, aka Kamen Rider Geats, is the reigning champ, winning the Grand Prix multiple times in a row; however, his motives are not what they seem! Is he a hero or villain? How and why is he continuing to compete? What are the Jyamato? How is the DGP able to do what it does, and what is the true reason for the completion? You’ll have to check it out on TokuSatsu or Tubi to find out!

মেয়েরা রাত দখল করো: THE NIGHT IS OURS
WOMEN RECLAIM THE NIGHT, JUSTICE FOR RG KAR VICTIM
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
let's do our part in protesting against the brutal rape and murder of RG Kar PGT doctor who was on a 36 hour shift on Friday, 9th August when she was resting alone in a room. please read the entire post even though it's long.
if you don't know what happened, the 31 year old woman had been gang raped (both before and after murder), and tortured to such an extent which cannot be explained. afterwards, the authorities and police first tried to cover it up by telling her parents it's a suicide but later it was revealed not to be so. it is a case of rape and homicide.
(i) speculations are that the girl had possibly become privy to some unlawful work going on at the hospital during night shifts, and hence to silence her, all this was done.
(ii) parents were refused to be allowed to see their daughter's body until after 3 hours of their arrival. they had to beg and plead for their basic rights.
(iii) what's more is that her body was burned by the police without taking the consent of her parents, possibly to erase evidences in case a second post mortem was to be done.
(iv) the girl's father has also reported to the high court, the fact that the DGP called him up and asked him not to take matters forward and just settle it amongst themselves.
(v) the person who has been arrested for this incident is speculatively just a scapegoat who has been paid to take the blame for something done by a larger group of people, probably under the protection of the syndicate ran in West Bengal by the government.
Post Mortem report of the victim (which again, was conducted by RG Kar doctors themselves, and we don't know if some details are intentionally being hidden or not
The postmortem report of the trainee doctor raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital revealed that she was throttled to death. Her thyroid cartilage was broken due to strangling and a deep wound was found in her private parts, the four-page report said. Sources said the murder and rape likely took place between 3 am and 5 am on August 9.
Injuries were found on her belly, lips, fingers, and left leg. Sources said the victim's nose and mouth were clamped, and her head was pushed against a wall to prevent her from screaming.
The scratch marks on the woman's face are believed to have been caused by the accused's fingernails, indicating that the victim desperately tried to fight back.
"The mouth and throat were constantly pressed to prevent screaming. The throat was strangled to suffocate. The thyroid cartilage broke due to strangling," the postmortem report said.
The report also mentioned that the woman was bleeding from both eyes, mouth and private parts. The report said the wounds in her private parts were caused by "perverted sexuality" and "genital torture". However, the reason for her eye wound has not been determined yet.
Source of the post mortem
so today (14th August, 2024) at 11:55 PM IST, there is going to be a midnight protest held across Kolkata. women protestors have planned to hold night long agitation across multiple spots in the city. the campaign titled 'Women, Reclaim The Night: The Night Is Ours' is aimed at seeking justice for the sexual assault and murder of the woman doctor. Men have also decided to join the protest in large numbers to show their solidarity with the cause.
The protest will take place simultaneously at the Jadavpur 8B Stand, Academy of Fine Arts, College Street, Sinthee More, Dunlop, Maldah English Bazaar, Siliguri (Darjeeling More).
i know it isn't possible for many of us to attend the protest but let's do our part virtually if not physically. share posts about the incident on your social media, with your friends, relatives. take part in the online campaign going on in social media. at 11:55 PM IST (14th August, 2024) tag your posts with #womenreclaimthenight and #thenightisours.
make this tag trending on all your socials. share this post to raise awareness. share all other posts related to this incident. with the tags i wrote above.
spread the word to your friends and relatives, do your part this way. indians and non indians, both alike. male, female, non binary, all genders, all alike. raise your voice before it's too late.
because the next victim could be you or any of your loved ones.

Keiwa just can't believe his luck. Even after all they've been through, The many DGP, Him recreating the world in his image, and defeating Suel with her, Michinaga and Ace, He couldn't believe that Neon would still be willing to go into a relationship with him. His hands rest on her shoulders, massaging them after covering as Kamen Rider on duty while he was still on patrol as a police officer, until she gets up.
"N-Neon, you don't really have to do anything for-" His words cut off as Neon's already transformed into entry form. Compared to their time as DGP Riders, Her suit nowadays looked a lot more body hugging. That or she's grown a bit into her suit in all the right places.
He sighs, getting up to meet Nago, and holding her waist and giving a kiss where her mouth would be on her helmet. "You're too good for me, Neon." Pulling her close and letting her chest press to his.
"Hehe, I know~" she purred teasingly, playfully bopping his nose with a finger as she let out a gentle laugh
Neon letting him happily feel her body through the tight rider suit, her breasts bulging slightly as she pushed her tits against his chest more
"Does it make my butt look big?" She asked innocently

You know what's even better than Ace giving Neon the princess treatment (well, as close as you can get to it with a kitsune who has millennia of unresolved self-existential crisis and mother issues) and being one of her biggest supporters? Neon knowing a little too well that he's fond of her, and if given the chance she'll relish in it. I like to think she first had an inkling, a Thought, after the zombie stage because Ace was so unsubtle (not that he's ever subtle when he gives Neon a helping hand lol), but it didn't truly clock in until he was so happy to see her in the DGP lounge that he went out of his way to meet her outside gaming hours and told her point blank what his true motivation is when she asked

part of what makes ace so interesting to me is how he’s so much more than he shows himself to be. very rarely is he completely stripped and bare to others and he always has a multitude layers over himself. and this mystique is probably what lured many people into liking him.
for so long, ace was considered to be someone who didn’t seem to fit the role of a main rider. he was manipulative, seemingly selfish, and made these confusing wishes, which are all far from the idea of a kamen rider, who is usually selfless and wanting the best for everyone.
yet each episode shows ace’s rhetoric. how he’ll manipulate people to get them to act the way he wants but he’ll never actually do anything harmful. he never pushes anyone down, nor will he step on others to reach his goal. if anything, he’ll encourage them and be their ally when no one else seems to be.
and this helps build a bigger picture. he isn’t selfish; he’s a human, albeit appearing to be so perfect. he’ll comfort kids and help them, and he’ll always empathize with children and their parents because it’s something that resonates strongly with him.
he’s confident but shows himself as arrogant, except he has everything to back it up. he’s been in the dgp since the start of AD and has lived for longer. but while also holding truth, it’s also his shield. by acting confident, he won’t show any weakness. by showing confidence, he won’t lose to emotions like rage and despair.
except his confidence breaks and he falls. hard.
ace meeting his mother and promising to create a world where everyone is happy is the most satisfying payoff of it all. seeing his character little by little, like a jigsaw puzzle, until the last piece is there and the full imagine is visible.
ace is the very idea of a kamen rider, someone who went through obstacles and hurdles, loss and rage, sorrow and happiness, he’s experienced everything, and yet he has never lost hope. not for himself nor others.

oughhhh the keiwa themes. as keiwa is struggling in this point in the story as to if he should betray his ideals to get his wish granted, he lets it out that he thinks about his parents deaths and wishing they were still alive constantly. this is a sort of quiet obsession with him because this is really only the second time its come up in the show so far. and its here you should be starting to wonder "if keiwa is so like this about his parents, why isnt his wish to bring them back, why wasn't his wish from the very beginning to bring them back, instead of something like world peace?"
this is where it's starting to get injected into the character that for whatever reason keiwa seems to have to project his actions through as extreme selflessness as possible, literally to his own detriment. he constantly points his desires outwardly, he has little sense of self, but we know that with that mindset relieved (like when he was retired from the DGP) he's actually pretty selfish. something in keiwa's head is just not right, and the way that manifests is through his "world peace selfless hero" thing.
and whenever his desires and his ideals run into conflict with each other, he just shuts down. he cant handle the conflict of interests inside himself and just, can't act. until an external force either forces his hand or gives him a path forward.
actually any kind of conflict or complex situation will get this from him. finding out the jamato may be connected to dead riders was so upsetting to him he refused to continue participating in the last boss fight. ultimately keiwa is a person who speaks very idealistically but has essentially zero drive to actually accomplish his goals and desires, especially when there's any resistance to face.
and sara here, gives a clear flip side of the coin to gauge against keiwa. she went through the same things he did with their parents but came out the other side a rational and capable person. she doesnt dwell on the past, she doesnt obsess over their dead parents. she made peace with it and lives her life happily and well adjusted.

How Did We Get Here: Keiwa
*long exasperated sigh.mp4*
So since everyone seems to be taking part in the Keiwa Morality argument. Here's my two cents, dismiss it if you want.
Like. Look. Keiwa teaming up with the DGP to exploit Tsumuri's powers is clearly a crossing of the Moral Event Horizon. That's clear, and I don't think we can dispute that. What I'm having a hard time dealing with is that most people seem to be lacking an understanding of the "why" of his plan (rather than just going to Ace in the first place) and going straight to "the writers are bad/sabotaging his character/doing all of this for no reason" argument.
So: why is Keiwa doing his plan (which is roughly "vengeance, stop for brunch/kidnapping, and then reset the world to accomplish my original goal in the first place") in this way?
See, the thing y'all haven't noticed is that, number one, Ace and Tsumuri literally cannot just fix this themselves. It's been assumed by some that because of their godly powers, the two can just fix the problem instantly by bringing Sara back. But judging by the things we've seen in the show, there are way too many holes with this idea. Remember, Ace and Tsumuri have (somewhat) limits; Ace himself lamented that he couldn't do more with his power outside of giving everyone their DGP memories back, and that was with Geats MK9, and Tsumuri just learned that she has goddess powers like. a week ago? Unless she's been training, that kind of power has been shown to very rarely activate on its own volition, instead occurring under extreme stress. While using the power itself is reliable, the two people connected to it are not.
Speaking of: Keiwa's relationship with Ace is, naturally, strained at this point. There's the opinion that because of PunkJack's Wacky Woohoo Expository Conference back in Episode 37, that Keiwa was supposed to just. magically let go of his grudge for the Goddess and be on Ace's side again. And that's kinda weird??? I'm not going to go into it (this post is long enough), but one press conference that implies that "because Ace was born, the Goddess ain't evil and is being used", without providing a concrete thing of "oh hey, she's not doing this of her own free will", really doesn't resolve things for Keiwa's low opinion of... pretty much everything at this point. And with Ace being, as usual, pretty mum about the situation, Keiwa still holding onto the grudge, especially now that Ace appears to have taken her place, and having pretty much lost everything at this point it's not entirely hard to see why he's lost faith in him.
Which makes it so that his "best option" (which is really not that but Keiwa doesn't know that) is to team up with the DGP. He clearly doesn't want to considering all the bullshit they've put him through, but he's still locked in the opinion that the wish that the DGP grants is the only way to accomplish his goals, which is a point that also wasn't resolved during the previous arc, leading to how we got to this point. So, using Tsumuri's power, with a deal from the DGP, in order to revive everything after his Vengeance Tour 2K23, is hypothetically his best shot. Is this a good way to process grief? Hell no! But as long as this path is open, and that the dueling opinions of "Ace can't help me rn, so I have to do it myself" and "the goddess still needs to pay for her sins (<- doesn't know about the whole "trapped as a statue thing)" still exist, he'll still try and do it. As long as his sister is safe, regardless of the consequences.
Lastly, going into this Keiwa doesn't have a healthy mentality. At all. Keiwa was one corn chip away from having a breakdown several times before this, and losing his only family to the same fucking guy that killed him... yeah, he's very far from mentally stable at the moment. With Kekera egging his misery on from the sidelines, like, my guy has snapped, and making impulsive, selfish, not very well thought out (remember, he's teamed up with the DGP) decisions with the "best" intentions is very in-character for him, whether we all like it or not. All of the things I've said beforehand are, in Keiwa's really fucked up mental state, valid reasons to do this.
And you know what? Probably not valid! He needs to go to therapy, or something. But he can't (and not only because describing the DGP would make you sound insane), and he won't, so he's Lazer Focused on this instead.
It's... honestly kind of depressing when you think about it. But those are my thoughts on the matter. At the very least, it looks like his wish will result in a monkey's paw effect... and maybe that will snap him out of it. Maybe then he'll just finally talk to Ace and the others, and clear up the sheer amount of miscommunication at the bottom of the issue.
...we have at least 8 episodes left though. So I might not count on it though.

Grand Census (1987) is one of Digest Group Publications’ most important approved third-party Traveller supplements. It is certainly one that clearly displays their design chops — flipping through this, it’s no wonder that GDW would want to bring them in on future Traveller design work. DGP understood Traveller in a way few outside designers ever managed (compare to the pap produced by Judges Guild, for instance). There is a wealth of well thought out material here.
Contrary to the name, this isn’t a catalog of planets. Rather, its a book to help catalog planets. The first half is concerned with exploration and the initial contact of sentient alien species, complete with methodology, ethic and helpful equipment (and a lot of very nice, clean technical art by Rob Caswell. It is a guide for both how to run and how to play this sort of encounter and it is great for any science fiction game, I think, if only for the section on defining and determining sentience, which is a heck of a deep think.
The second half of the book is a replacement for and massive expansion of the Traveller world generator. Table after table allows you define a world’s culture, their laws, their taboos, their unusual behaviors. If I had this in 1987, I would have played with and tinkered with it constantly. The compulsion to do so in 2022 as I write this is strong, too, I gotta say. And again, this is tacitly aimed at Traveller, but the tools are essentially system agnostic. You could probably use it for fantasy games too. Honestly, it’s impossible for me to not see this book as somehow anticipating or influencing the abundance of tables that make up Stars Without Number.
