made the mistake of going into taria damsin's tag and there are several posts about how it's so refreshing that taria's "not just a plot device to die just to add pain and angst to obi wan’s life" and it's so nice she's not just another "female character used as a disposable plot device to show us how different he is from anakin" and not just "a mirror to anakin and padme"
as if she was not introduced in a book LITERALLY JUST TO DIE AND CAUSE OBI WAN ANGST. specifically in the form of anakin. to whom they compare SPECIFICALLY IN THE TEXT his relationship with padme. as if she was not LITERALLY INTRODUCED AS A DISPOSABLE (killed within the same two part book series that she was introduced in) PLOT DEVICE to compare anakin to obi wan. how different they react to loved ones dying, romantic attachments, etc. as if she wasn't introduced specifically to cause angst AND puff up obi wan AND stir up obi wan anakin padme drama (babygirl is multitasking!). as if anakin and obi wan don't have a WHOLE ASS ARGUMENT ABOUT IT where they COMPARE THEM DIRECTLY to anakin and padme. IN THE TEXT ITSELF.

Thoughts on fixing the last two eps of AAA to make it more sensible/flow better with the stuff they already had in the script.
Spoilers, obviously.
Ep 8, change starts when Billy finishes finding a body to put Tommy in and disappears, leaving a crack in the floor and Agatha saying "boys die". Instead of staying in the trial, it follows him to returning home, his parents worrying about him, him cleaning up, and making the realization that it was all him. Have him rush off to return to Westview, which his parents are more inclined to allow despite his disappearance because he isn't all cut up and bloody. Episode ends, no voice from behind him.
A straight 30min ep.
Ep 9
Back with Agatha in the last trial, she opens her locket and pulls out Nicholas's hair and then go to flashback to her pregnant and in the woods. Do the whole flashback through to her using the Ballad they made up to steal power from witches and her realization that Billy made the Road. Opens her eyes back in the trial, sees the dandelion seed which wasn't there before (it wasn't if you go back and rewatch the scene), tear she shed over flashback for water, plants it, it grows, she busts out. Implies that flashback is reminder that she is a survivor, or that the flashback was her unconsciously summoning the seed (dandelions are hard to kill survivors too).
Her whole fight thing with Rio, Billy shows up, gives her power, she hands him over to Rio, blah blah. Now we know what is between them before the fight and the "you love me, why don't you want me" lines hit properly because we just watched what caused their split and it shows that Rio doesn't understand the rift between them, which has been hinted at in prior eps.
They kiss, she falls, becomes mushrooms and flower food, Rio says Billy can go. Billy goes down to basement, sky above clears as Rio leaves. Agatha's ghost appears, do the "I killed them!", "well, technically" discussion there. Agatha drops the whole "you wanna be a witch get used to this feeling (of guilt from killing)" and that is what prompts Billy to start trying to banish her, the "I can't face him" line makes more sense plot wise because she just did the whole flashback. Also it points up that Billy is trying to banish her because he doesn't want to face the deaths either and we and they didn't waste time on getting to and from Eastview and it's all more immediate for the characters and clear to us. Billy accepts her ghost and what he caused, closes the door to the Road with the in memoriam.
The whole "let's go find Tommy" bit and then have him walk out amongst the townspeople (who can't see Agatha's ghost at his side) in his costume they probably vaguely recognize, but have him own it instead of ashamed of it, they get in his car and drive off. Show Agatha's ghost in the passenger seat, mirroring how they started the whole thing when they went looking for others to be in the coven and bringing it full circle.
End with Jen clawing out of the ground and using her power to fly off. Or use it as an end credit since we didn't get one. A full 1hr ep.
With the reorganization of the scenes like this, you don't get lines and acting in one episode that you then need to get ten minutes into the next episode to get the emotional impact of. And, the whole flashback to Nicholas thing makes a lot more sense rather than just being dumped on us abruptly. Also, we don't waste time between action and emotion beats being in Eastview and returning to Westview.

The Importance of an arc, and how it impacts the chances of survival in Danganronpa
Spoilers for DR1, DR2, and V3 below! Proceed at your own risk!
During the prologue, we get an amazing opportunity to meet 16 (or 15) students and learn about their talent. We gain a sense of their personality and as players - we get attached to these characters. However, not every character has an equal chance of surviving - something I only truly understood after seeing my favorite DR1 character being brutally mutilated by an ambulance during her execution in ch3. But why? Why couldn't Celestia Ludenburg be a survivor?
We’ve all heard of the Danganronpa character trends such as the big guy dying in ch4, closest to the player dying in ch1, evil ch3 blackeneds, crazy deaths in ch5, etc. I just wanted to share some opinions on other trends I noticed between the surviving cast and the deaths in the game!
Characteristics of Survivors
In my opinion, survivors mostly fall into two categories: characters who go through sudden development ( in ch2,3, or 4) and characters who aren’t as threatening. I’m not using the words threatening to portray physical or mental capacities, but more on their chances of taking the chance at being blackened. In the first category, survivors such as Toko, Byakuya, Kyoko, Akane, Fuyuhiko, Maki, and Himiko fall. In the second, characters such as Mokoto, Hiro, Kazuichi, Hajime, and Shuichi fall into this category. Aoi and Sonia are both interesting cases. Aoi does try to murder the entire class in 1-4 but mostly falls into the second category. Sonia had the potential to pull a “Tsumugi” plot twist with her slight fascination with darker topics, yet being “light” and bubbly - however doesn’t follow through.
Eccentric Introduction + no initial arc build-up [Mondo, Celeste, Teruteru, Peko, Gundhum, Kirumi, Korekiyo, Gonta]
Don't lie and tell me you looked at Peko Pekoyama - the Ultimate Swordswomen - and said she could be a survivor.
This category is for characters who had no initial arc set-up and had an unnatural/ominous/threatening personality. It’s also interesting to note that, not purposefully, my list only includes blackeneds [However characters such as Gudhum and Gonta could have easily been victims]. Characters who fall into the “darker side” tend to have an increased chance of dying. However, characters who fall into this “darker side” and who are almost immediately set up with arcs can survive [Shuichi, Kyoko, and Maki]. All three also go through a phase of normalization where their personalities grow “more human”.
While I have a great respect for this arcetype as a couple of my favorites fall in here, there was much potential for interesting arcs with these characters. Kirumi could have had an arc to determine the limits of her selfless devotion. Gundhum could have had a cute love story with Sonia (that wasn’t JUST set up in 2-4 but earlier). Fuyuhiko could have had an arc that involved showing more appreciation for Peko (not only at the end of 2-2). Such arcs could have added depth to the characters (besides being threatening) before their imminent deaths or maybe subverted the expectations for the player.
"How can a character recover from this arc?" [Taka, Hifumi, Imposter, Nagito, Rantaro, Angie, Kokichi]
Once a character makes a remark they want to STOP the killing game – and it’s not chapter 6, you know they're going to die. When the Imposter and Rantaro make this claim, they automatically raise death flags. Kaede goes through a similar arc with trying to stop the mastermind, but her actions go unnoticed mainly because she is the main character.
Mid-way through the games, certain arcs also start raising death flags as well. Nagito, Kokichi, and Angie try to end the killing game before the 6th chapter, which can automatically raise flags to the player. However, both Nagito and Kokichi get some wiggle room as they both go on their own accord as well as progress their games significantly with their deaths. Taka and Hifumi’s arc in 3-1 with alter ego automatically degrades their chances of survival, making them an easy target for Celeste.
If I could make some changes, I would make Taka learn how to deal with Mondo’s death instead of killing him at the height of Kiyondo (still keeping him as a ch3 death). I do agree with the majority of the fandom that Taka should have survived longer than ch3 and had a STRONG potential as a survivor, but that’s meant for a rewrite for another day. While Taka’s Kiyondo arc works as a great method for Celeste’s plan, I still think Taka would have agreed to meet up in the morning regardless if he was at the “height” of his Kiyondo arc or not. There was no way the mentally unstable Kiyondo could survive a chapter without having an arc dealing with Mondo’s death, so why not give him a slight arc for that anyway! Angie’s involvement with building the student council should have started more strongly in ch2 - especially since she was already involved with Himiko’s magic show and Gonta’s Insect Meet and Greet! The council should have been formed BEFORE Ryoma’s death with ch3’s motive just increasing the council’s power over the students. If such a change happened, then Angie would have been more predictable as a death in ch2 (but survived), and would have allowed the council to gain some interesting footing as well. Angie founding the council AND working on the ritual in one chapter just nosedives her chances for survival - even if this wasn’t the reason she was killed in the first place!
Spotlighting some of my favorite character arcs! (deaths) [Chihiro, Mahiru, Mikan, Nekumaru, Chiaki, Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, Tenko, Kaito]
I wanted to take this section to highlight some arcs I enjoyed! They either had the potential to be done well or were done well, in my opinion. I can’t speak for everyone on this list, but I’ll choose three: Ryoma, Chihiro, and Kaede.
Ryoma is a character who could have easily had an arc on dealing with the tragedies of the past, but learning how to move forward. Himiko has a similar arc dealing with the deaths of Tenko and Angie, but Ryoma had a great setup! Shuichi mentions Ryoma’s lingering eyes on the tennis court in his lab hinting that Ryoma deeply misses his talent regardless of his actions. Ryoma also supports Kokichi’s idea for revealing everyone’s motive. Regardless, going over the transcript of DRV3 gave me an appreciation for his character and his potential. I just wish Ryoma’s will for survival was highlighted a little more during the game, so it could make his death more surprising to the audience. Shuichi could have had some additional thoughts by picking up on Ryoma’s will to live before it was word-by-word explained to us in a trial! Ryoma’s death could have also been great moral ground for Himiko after ch3’s trial when she’s placed in a similar situation as Ryoma - losing the people you love the most and guilt.
When I’m talking about Chihiro’s arc, I’m also involving alter ego. After witnessing Leon’s brutal execution, Chhiro starts to comment on wishing to grow stronger. First - they start to compliment Kyoko (and Mondo in their FTE’s) and then wish to grow stronger by going to the gym. While it does raise death flags for Chihiro’s character suddenly getting developed, it also gives their character the chance to pull a survivor card. While I do dislike Mondo in general, I have to admit his story does tie nicely with Chihiro’s and they have a great contrast in 1-2. After Chihiro’s laptop gets discovered in 1-3, Chihiro’s characterization and “arc” are still built upon. Chihiro was incredibly intelligent to work on a way to escape starting in ch2 and create an alter ego. They also realized that they wouldn’t survive, but STILL DECIDED TO HELP!
“I see... To be honest, I knew all along... I knew the chances that Master would survive this situation were very low... So...I was prepared for this moment..."
Overall, I could talk on and on about how great Chihiro’s character is. But the way their arc transfers over PAST their death was a stroke of genius by Kodaka.
I always go back and forth between Kaede’s arc. While I do want to post a rewrite of her in the long run, I do think her arc was handled well for the - one chapter - she was in. Kaede would fall into the “How can a character recover from this arc” section if she wasn’t the main character. When going through her actions with Shuichi - from setting up a trick to stop the mastermind, talking about the mastermind, and ending the killing game - as the player, it’s obvious that this plan won’t work 100% in the first chapter. But, because of Kaede being the main character, it’s harder to catch up on the death flags she’s waving. While her arc of catching the mastermind and helping Shuichi realize his potential/worth helps set the rest of the story into motion, her arc is also incredibly memorial to the player. I understand the argument that her arc only being covered by her main character's protection is weak, but I believe that this being the basis of her arc and STILL fooling players is what makes it so strong!
Hopefully, you enjoyed this analysis! If you have any thoughts you’d like to share, feel free to in the “Ask me Anything!” tab! I do plan on posting more analyses in the future!

While I wish the show focused on RWBY and get side/secondary characters tf out of the spotlight, I can't help but personally find Jaune more interesting atm. It probably won't happen, but it'd be so interesting to see Jaune return home as he is and face his family. How would his dynamics change with his sisters now that he's the oldest? Is he now older than his own parents? How would they grieve not being able to witness even parts of his life? Would they be proud to know he's "lived up" to the line of warriors, and his parents don't have to wait to see him at his "best?" With the show having tone issues and putting comedy in objectively horrific circumstances, would Jaune jokingly flaunt his new maturity over his sisters? This is idea has so much potential that of course won't get developed or resolved satisfactory, as nothing in this show does. It's not even being done well with the immediately available characters.
Honestly... yeah. While I completely get why many fans dislike Jaune due to his meta problems (and why they might simply dislike him as a character, period) for me the result of giving him so much that should have gone to Ruby means that he's a more well-rounded character and, thus, more interesting to some viewers. Jaune has conflict to engage with. Just off the top of my head:
He's a classic underdog whereas Ruby's prodigy status means she's never really had to improve across the series. Even her one new skill, Silver Eyes, is mastered in a single fight.
Instead, Ruby's problem is that she's younger than her peers which has an impact for... three episodes? Especially since Weiss' issues with Ruby being leader seem to stem entirely from the fact that she wants to be leader, not because she's two years younger.
So Ruby gets a short arc about figuring out how to lead... which is what Jaune goes through too because he's also a leader.
Alongside this, Jaune gets a whole bullying arc that helps develop his character (even if it's pretty simplistic development).
Jaune is the love interest of Pyrrha who spends a ton of time with her whereas Ruby is just the kinda-friend whose relationship exists almost entirely off screen. Seriously, I know we all like to talk about how traumatizing seeing her die was for Ruby (and undoubtedly it was), but her "PYRRHA!" at the Vytal festival is the one friend-y moment I can think of off the top of my head.
Jaune accompanies Ruby on her Cinder quest, ensuring he's there to experience and grapple with everything our protagonist is experiencing and grappling with too.
He gets the armor upgrade and later new gadgets, despite Ruby supposedly being a weapons nerd.
As fans have pointed out in regards to the "Who is responsible for their failed plan?" debate, Jaune gets to come up with a lot of ideas across the series (good and bad) that Ruby then agrees to follow. Ruby was GREAT at coming up with cool combat strategies and plans at the start of the show and now that's all but disappeared.
Jaune has the extreme reaction to learning about Ozpin's secrets. I mean, I hate it, but I can't deny that it's more engaging than Ruby's reassurances that are immediately undermined by Qrow.
Jaune, Ren, and Yang are off LITERALLY FIGHTING SALEM AND NOT SAVING OSCAR'S LIFE while Ruby sits in a mansion drinking tea.
He's the one to kill Penny. Ruby might also have a grief arc this Volume, but that's lessened by the fact that it should have occurred six Volumes go and she only heard about this second-hand. That's a COMPLETELY different scenario from not just seeing the death, but causing it.
Jaune winds up in Ever After and immediately finds the contrived plot device that makes his life - as you've laid out, anon, - that much more interesting.
Ruby has a breakdown about how bad things are and so does Jaune... but to my mind he's got a lot more to complain about with a lot less responsibility too, so it resonates with me more. I mean, I don't really want to compare trauma - Ruby obviously has a LOT to be upset over - but I struggle to hone in on her "I hate having to cheer everyone up!" meltdown when Jaune is there having a "I've been alone for decades and now my village is dead!" meltdown.
And yeah, we can throw in a lot of Ruby specific things too. Sort of. She has Silver Eyes! ... which haven't been very important in the narrative and, you know, Jaune is the descendant of some great huntsmen family with hints that he'll be even more by the series' end. Ruby was targeted for kidnapping! ... once, while Jaune was there helping to defend her, and it's not something she ever reflects on. Ruby is the simple soul destined to save Remnant! ... and Jaune is now the Rusted Knight, a literal fairy tale hero who, as we've been reminded over and over this Volume, everyone in Remnant simply adores.
None of these are new complaints. Jaune gets too much screen time. He gets too much development compared to the girls. He's too perfect despite supposedly being a fuck-up at the start. No one who came to RWBY for the woman-led team focus is happy about this (or about Ozpin-Oscar being at the center of this fight). But the inevitable result of all that - if you can get past your frustration - is that Jaune is simply more interesting in a whole lot of ways. He's developed more across the series and now continues to have more engaging, logical conflicts. Jaune has lived a lifetime in a fairy tale and faces the possibility of returning to Remnant with an insane amount of baggage to overcome, to say nothing of how this would change how everyone interacts with him for the rest of the series. He still has a personal beef against the villains for Pyrrha's death whereas we haven't confirmed that Salem killed Summer, or that Ruby wants to hunt her down for that. Jaune is now falling apart for very legitimate, understandable reasons that none of us really need to nitpick because yeah, who wouldn't have a meltdown about spending decades in this place and then loosing a whole family? Meanwhile, Ruby is... sad about a death that already happened once and also that she "has" to be leader after demanding to be leader. One of these arcs is not like the other!! The fact that Ruby does have interesting things for the story to engage with - the mysterious death of her mother, the potential for her Silver Eyes to be the only thing that could hurt Salem, etc. - doesn't matter because the story isn't writing that. So yeah, hard agree, anon. The story is supposed to be about Ruby, I want it to be about Ruby, but the show continually goes, "Look at this more interesting, more developed, more conflict-laden character over here." Even if RWBY fails to do something good with all that - which inevitably it will - the potential is still more engaging than 99% of what Ruby has had going on since Volume 5.

A Human In Dracula's Army
I loved the Castlevania Netflix show. LOVED it. The animation was beautiful, the story was riveting, and the characters were loveable. Still, one rose above the others to me and his name is Isaac. Immediately, I knew Isaac was going to be interesting when I saw that Dracula had humans on his side despite his crusade against mankind. I wanted to know what would jade someone so badly that they wanted a massacre on that scale. He didn't disappoint.
Isaac saw the worst humanity had to offer by being a slave in his childhood. We won't ever know the full extent to the horrors he faced, but we saw the physical and psychological abuse since the closest person he had in the role of a parental figure viewed him as property that should be broken for trying to be anything more. The first time he's shown kindness, it's not by another person. It's by a "monster." Dracula showed Isaac mercy and kindness by saving him from the Brigand magicians who were going to sell him off in pieces. This set in motion how Dracula is the only family Isaac truly had. When you think of who's loyal to the vampire, no one compares to Isaac. Even to the point of letting him rest so that he was not forced back into a cruel world to feel more pain. The saddest we ever see adult Isaac is when Dracula saves his life by pushing him through the mirror. He knows his only friend is going to die and feels helpless to stop it.
What I really enjoy about Isaac is that he's not just a minion who serves the villain blindly. He had his reasons and was someone Dracula genuinely respected. The vampire king brings him in on his true goal for the world, consults with him privately, etc. They had an actual friendship that I don't think Dracula even realized until he saw that a mortal would risk his life for him. A human who would not really benefit from his plan wanted to put it all on the line to protect him. Who's protected Dracula? We've never seen anyone but Isaac do that. His own son turned on him and the world views him as the same as the devil himself by now. But Isaac cares about him, got him to chuckle in their conversations, and doesn't even request that he be honest with him although Dracula is.
After everything with Dracula, I was worried Isaac wouldn't have anything to do as a character. He could become flat and one-note. A person who went from trying to kill all of mankind to trying to kill his former ally and then all of mankind isn't that interesting. Luckily, the writers knew this and didn't go down that path. Isaac goes through such a fascinating arc of learning to have agency. Carmilla said before that he had not really grown up from the child who was being beaten for trying to read. At the time, she was right. He let that pain and anger shape him. After he's on his own and has time to reflect on life, he becomes a man. He doesn't have to live in hatred. That's not to say that he becomes merciful towards everyone, but he's reasonable. Isaac doesn't enter places and kill randomly. He tries to leave peacefully, he agrees to work with the captain instead of killing him-he even takes down the Magician to free the people who were enslaved. The former slave is now giving liberation to others. Even though he can't save their lives, he can bring them peace through the afterlife and give them proper burials.
Around this time, it's clear how much Isaac has developed. He wants the place to be somewhere other people can live. He doesn't want to kill everyone. He wants to make the world better. Isaac changes his plans so that he's not trying to kill Hector anymore. He shows his former comrade mercy and the same kindness he's received from people along the way on his journey like the merchant and the captain. Even down to using lime in his water, they've impacted his life. Isaac has changed and Hector sees it too. He no longer sees death as a way to end his suffering. He no longer wants death at all. He wants to make the most of his time on Earth and he wants to live.
Rated T. Summary: After Isaac killed the Templar Knight, he was forced to learn about more cruelty in the world. How did this once kind youth harden and grow into someone who wants nothing more than for the human race to be wiped from the world? Despite hoping otherwise, Isaac realizes how alone he is and starts developing into the man he is during the first few seasons of Castlevania.

Hhhh I have oc brainrot and this is my house so I'm going to say things about it
(Long post below)
So, I've posted before about Anna and Juni and the thing about them is that they have no cannon. I made Anna to fight off the monsters from horror shows I was too young to watch and Juni because I was uncomfortable putting Anna through any horrors.
What I posted last week on sts was my ongoing attempt to force them into a coherent canon but I almost don't like it? It's a little hollow and almost doesn't fit the underlying core of the characters I have in my brain.
Why not use the progression they went through as I grew up? I insert them into *everything*, that's why I struggle to obsess over fandom characters, because my special-est guys are already there.
To make it short, I was obsessed with Oblivion growing up and Anna was part of the Dark Brotherhood.
(Juni is still nebulous at this point so we're focusing on her)
(If anyone has not played through the DB quest of Oblivion and would like a rundown, I would be so happy to talk about my favorite part of my favorite video game)
I like to think that she still watched her bio-dad (Matthew) "die" and then teleported to Cyrodil, where she immediately stumbles upon/is contacted by/interacts with somehow Lucien and latches onto him like a baby duckling.
She THRIVES in the Dark Brotherhood. This is why the solider story doesn't fit for me, because as much as she and I both want her to be a good person, a *hero*, she is not. She is someone who gleefully decapitates a guy in an alley and then goes home to brag about it to her buddies.
She is not the player in this AU. I like to think she and the player have a mirrored track, joining at the same time and being spared from the Cheydinal masacre.
(I like to think she was sent off to Skyrim or just the other side of the map for a contract, all happy (LEGITIMATELY the happiest she has ever been or will be again) and then comes home to nearly her entire family in pieces on the ground, and she CANT BE MAD AT THE GUY WHO DID IT)
She latches on even harder to Lucien at that point. One thing that's been constant is that she is someone who leaves claw marks in things. Never letting them go.
She and the player are both put on the dead drop system, and I like to imagine she notices that the higher ups are getting murdered, but Lucien is already off trying to solve that problem so she's on her own.
(Also PLEASE ask me my thoughts on how Obsidian handled that quest/reveal, I love it so much)
She's always one step behind both the player and Lucien, though she's in the players spot when she busts into Applewatch.
Just in time to see the remaining leaders deliver the final blow to Lucien's mutilated, nearly unrecognizable body.
"Hey! We found the traitor! Isn't that wonderful? Aren't you happy!"
I feel like describing it takes away the impact, so let's say that she locks the door behind them and emerged several hours later, coat a darker shade of black.
(At least two of those hours were dedicated to sobbing over Luciens' corpse and then stabbing the player's several hundred more times)
Technically the Brotherhood limps on from Applewatch, slowly growing into what it is in Skyrim, but for me it ended there. She killed it. The Final Listener.
I remember crying about this to my sister and her going "well that's what happens when you join the murder cult".
I think Anna internalized that. This happened because of the darkness. This happened because you weren't good enough to save them.
Maybe if I am good.
Maybe if I save people.
Maybe if I'm a hero.
Maybe I can save them all.
~~~
I have more but this post is long enough lmao. Send me a message if you want to talk about your ocs with mine (or just want to talk, I'm very friendly)
so thoughts over all on the chapter:
first, the art is so clean and beautiful. These last chapters were straight up gorgeous ily harukawa <3<3<3 good art adds a lot to the story for me in particular i am 🥰🥰🥰
second, i didn't think we'd get another death so soon in the story. I'm talking about Bram's. I am SO glad asagiri included an scene where Aya could get some kind of closure even if it was bittersweet. She still got to say goodbye, it might look like she's throwing a tantrum because she is. having bra-chan back and then immediately knowing he's going to disappear is unfair. She's a child after all.
And looping back into the art i think Bram on this page is beautiful no notes:
He looks at her without an ounce of pity. "My valiant daughter, you yourself must become the knight" Nono i love this line. so much. Aya deserves her efforts and her bravery to be recognized this is so important to her udksndisn i love this line. Because it's hopeful but IT ACTS AS A DOUBLE EDGED SWORD this is such a burden to place in a child omg. Knowing Aya she Will take these words at heart.
Bram then leaving Aya under Akutagawa's care. The title of the chapter is "understood" what he says after Bram disappears. PROTECTOR AKU XNFOWJDIBISN HELL YEAH EVERYONE CHEERED Also it shows the peak of his character growth? for me at least????
Lastly on this topic, i would not be mad if Bram would stay dead. All he loved was already dead and taken from him, personally i think he projected a lot of his own daughter onto Aya and to keep being by her side, a constant reminder of the daughter he lost, It's not like they couldn't have found comfort in e/o and keep being a family, but it'd always be like an open wound i think. Also Bram must've been tired, or having to face the burden of being the catalyst of the creation of the tripolar singularity on the first place. I think if he stayed alive there would be so many obstacles he'd have to face and that would take a toll.
(besides!! i personally think that if he survived he would've been hunted down by mori. why? too long to explain here that deserves it's own post. just like Bram i suddenly have a lot of feelings about Bram as a character lmao).
INTERMISSION TO TALK ABOUT THE SKRUNKLY:
🥰🔥💥💣🔥🥰🖤🥰💥🔥🥰🖤🔥💥💣💣💣✨💥🥰🖤🥰🖤💣✨✨✨💥🥰🔥🥰🖤✨💥💣
you may now proceed
About Kunikida's "death": Personally it did not impact me as much because it was SO sudden after Teruko's, their deaths only served as shock factor and to instill Fukuchi as a very dangerous menace. His only presence was enough to paralyze Kunikida, who previously would gladly throw himself off a helicopter and ignite a grenade to stall his enemies.
Absolutely criminal that we are reminded Kunikida is the funniest character in the series moments before disaster like:
KUNI IM WONDERING THE SAME SINCE FOREVER YOU ARE SO REAL
and still even when he knows he's going to die he stands tall and finds strength to give a final order to atsushi and tanizaki
i don't exactly think his death served no purpose. at least they handled it better than Teruko's i'm still salty about hers.
INTERMISSION TO SEE SKRUNKLY #2
look at that expression. pure despair. can someone give him a break. gorgeous art i wish i could convey emotions like this on my own
Back to kuni:
"thou and this world are all equally hollow. by such logic both this blade and death itself has no power to harm thee" Why did the fukuchisingularitybeyblade say this. what does he mean.
I'm taking the obvious interpretation and say that the ppl consumed as bubbles will come back with the power of friendship mostly unscathed at some point. I admit i still don't know how amenogozen works in the singularity. (Or how the singularity as a whole works)
Also!!!! if the world and it's people is hollow. What about Dazai, who always felt like he was hollow inside and the whole "no longer human" does this mean Dazai is just as human as the others but now instead of analysis in his character it's explicitly stated in text. yada yada idk guys i am not a Dazai connoisseur i'm stepping into the unknown here. But i feel this connection could be made.
Could it be, that the complete opposite of hollow is the thing needed to defeat the singularity. Reaching here but bbtm+rashomon making an appearance 👀👀👀 ok i'll stop now.
Also. why is Kunikida dying drawn so beautifully omg. art SO beautiful it made me tear up counter: 4
Lastly i missed Tanizaki losing it he should lose it more often. I don't think he'll die in the next chapter not so soon. (if he does i'm going to be pissed off bc it would be cheap. cmon)
I wonder how the sleeping club (Tecchou, Kenji and Ranpo) is going to react when they wake up. Where are my girls (Yosano and Kyouka). Bonus points for this chapter because it didn't show me fukuzawa in turmoil.
and i think that's all!
LUFFY THROWING HIMSELF ON TOP OF ZORO’S CHEST AND HUGGING HIM. LUFFY PUTING THE BARE MINIMUM DISTANCE TO THEN CARESS ZORO’S FACE WITH HIS HAND. Oh my god… OH MY GOD! EXCUSE ME?! WHAT?! I HAVE NO WORDS, I AM JUST FUCKING DEAD (I survived the DDoS attack of AO3 but I couldn’t survive these XD)
-HE PUT HIS FIST SOFTLY ON TOP OF LUFFY’S HEART AND LUFFY TOOK HIS HAND IN HIS. YES, I’M STILL DEAD, WHY DO YOU ASK?
-The fucking life action of One Piece just give us a 5 minute long canon fanfic of Luffy and Zoro and I am hear for it (Still not a ZoLu girl all the way though, I have to many ships in these show)
-”I wasn’t worried for a second” Yeah, right
-Also after the most tender moment ever, with Zoro’s hand, the one on his chest, still on his own, Luffy almost kills Zoro himself moving him to hard
-Usopp showing off and Zoro’s smiling answer being “You scared’em off, The Great Captain Usopp” knowing full well that it’s just a lie is so fucking cute too
-”Lot of dried meat in these barrels. You think we brought too much?” ”You know who are you sailing with?” and proceeding to look the man that guide them to Baratie only using his nose
-Luffy getting super excited about Sanji joining them not only because he thinks he is a good guy and a good fighter, also because he is an excellent cook
-”Why are we bringing the waiter?” “Because we can’t boil water” (btw Zoro has no right to look this fucking good saying that)
-Sanji’s goodbye 10/10
-Buggy’s head bag <3
⭐!!
thank you! i'll take this opportunity to ramble a bit about Love & War, particularly Cleo's arc on the demon path!
Director's Cut - Love & War
this whole fic was partially inspired by me enjoying the demon path much more than i thought i would- it was very fun to play Cleo's 'corruption' and subsequent 'redemption', especially when setting her up in interactions with Galfrey
Cleo has a lot of flaws to start with- her recklessness, her impulsiveness, her rage- but all those flaws come from her good traits- her protectiveness of people she cares about, her bravery, her sense of internal justice. it's those good traits that draw Galfrey to her, just as the bad ones get warped by the demon path and nearly drive them apart
and something i really wanted to do in the fic was really commit to how hurtful the demonic influence really was. there are some parts that hurt, and i wanted them to hurt- because if Cleo never really does anything "that bad", then the redemption feels too easy and simple, and i wanted the situation to be more complicated than that. there were some hard character choices, and i feel like just-starting-out-writing me would have softened some of them, but when writing this i wanted to challenge myself!
the demon choice with Irabeth was one i really wrestled over. i actually didn't take that action in the game itself (as i wasn't sure how that affected Irabeth's survival and i refuse to ever let her die) but for the fic i decided to go for it, it really shows the impact of the demonic influence combined with Cleo's rage:
“Beth!” Anevia was immediately at her wife’s side, inspecting the gash Cleo had left on her face as she shouted, “Commander, have you lost your mind?!” Cleo didn’t answer. She took a step back, her gaze drifting from her hand to Irabeth then back again, as if trying to piece together what had just happened. She was still shaking, but whether it was from anger or simple shock, Galfrey couldn’t tell.
and it shows how much the Crusades will tolerate, with people as desperate as they are for any advantage in the war. and they can justify it- at first, it even kind of cool. Cleo gets to go demon on her enemies, and its cool and badass because she's doing it to people who deserve it
but that's not sustainable! it's going to spill over to people who don't deserve it (Irabeth), or it's going to go way too far even against her enemies (Yozz):
“Did you know I didn’t kill Yozz?” Cleo interrupted. “I was gonna. It would have been kinder. Then…I didn’t. I did so much worse. I beat him to a pulp, Arueshalae, a literal pulp!” Her pulse spiked angrily just at the memory, and she growled in frustration. “Look, Arueshalae- you’ve gotten better, and that’s amazing. But maybe it is too late for some people. Maybe you should just focus on yourself and stop wasting your time on people like me and Dimalchio.”
and her arc is about coming to this realization that she's been indulging in the worst parts of herself and deciding to fight back against that- and it's about the fact that she can, that there's no 'too late to turn back' point. it might be hard, but it's always possible- and that's the kind of things that make redemption arcs compelling to me!
(its also what i love about arueshalae's arc, but that's another post lol)
#director's cut#ch: cleo#thanks for the ask!#sorry if its word salad lol#ive been figuring cleo out as i write her and its been an experience
uueggehcch i just think about how strikingly DIRECTLY morse impacted kurasame to the point where he BECOMES that completely emotionally unavailable to such a degree that even literal GOD is impressed by it like. by showing him what it COULD be like if he DID care about his countrys betrayal if he DID choose to hold such a grudge against them for trying to sacrifice him against his will morse (for saying he was trying to teach him what to expect in advance) pushed him to the complete opposite extreme where he chooses to completely ignore what happens to him. he accepts it. resigns himself to its eventual inevitability in occurring again. all in sheer AVOIDANCE of how the same event affected the only other person who could understand what it means to be at the top of the world and have it ripped out from underneath you.
like. his emotional response of shutting down ISNT innate to him. you see it time and time again in the manga. hes brash, arrogant, and impulsive. he thinks with his feelings first and then with his thoughts and THEN with his body, willingly putting himself in harms way to uphold his beliefs and his dedication to others. the fact that his personality does a COMPLETE 180 is ironically VERY in character for how its, by all means, a reaction! his choice to give up on his life following the death of the champions, as always and in the end, is a straightforward reaction to encountering morse just before fighting kotetsu. it solidifies his dedication to his loyalty only for it to immediately be challenged. and a) between FORGETTING the battle he had w kotetsu and b) having decided this IMMEDIATELY preceding the battle, of COURSE he decidedly puts his loyalty above himself.
arguably, even the fact that he convinces the cadetmaster to kill herself is not only a means of closure and revenge, but she FAILED. she attempted to use the champions as a bartering tool for militesi secrets and with kurasames survival, failed even that! ESPECIALLY as cid aulstyne reveals to the audience that its all a trap anyways. yes, it was a means of exacting revenge for all that hes lost because of her and a means of gaining a sense of closure as he ends up forgetting the extent of the betrayal, but it still falls in line for his loyalty to the dominion, up to which his ultimatum to her is in defense of the dominions overall morale, already damaged by the propaganda of gurens posted betrayal.
and with morses choice to save him at the end of it to see how kurasame responds. its so. GRRRRR. YOU KNOW HES GOING TO CHOOSE THE OPPOSITE OF YOU, out of fear, out of spite, due to NOT REMEMBERING ANYTHING ELSE. "let me see what you'll choose now" YOU ALREADY KNOWWWWW YOU ALREADY KNOW HIS CHOICE. it feels like a sick experiment to see what living on the other side would have been like. would it have been worth it to lay down like a sick dog and die under the heel of your government? is the merciless propaganda touted about despite everything else you know worth withstanding? knowing you yourself are nothing more than a mockery of what could have been, of what should have been, of how unfair it all is in the end. which choice is better: to be granted freedom in exchange for scorn, or to be chained up and remain yet still adored for the lies that cover your face?
he isnt waiting to see what kurasame chooses. hes merely waiting to see what happens because of it. and honestly, hindsight 20/20, he picked better by abandoning milites. kurasame has the worst, shittiest, barebones existence until he fucking dies, sacrificed once more by his own goddamn nation. like, in the novels queen LITERALLY insinuates that the dynamic between kurasame and c0 is so fucking miserable for both sides that she takes it upon herself to bridge the gap because FUCK someone HAS TO and it sure as HELL isnt going to be kurasame. AND THATS A PROBLEM FOR ARECIA!!! SHE CHOSE HIM BECAUSE OF HIS APATHY. she doesnt WANT him to get close to the class. in her mind, c0 is a cultured experiment, and kurasame is merely a necessity in continuing it, NOT a variable. she goes with him BECAUSE she wants him to be a nonfactor in their lives, so honestly it is not a far off statement to claim his time with the class genuinely fucking sucked. and you cant even say he DIDNT want to do it because he DOESNT LET HIMSELF HAVE WANTS ANYMORE following the death of the champions.
like, yes, you get the funny "its not like we LIKE you or anything" from nine and cater, but you watch the graveyard scene too. ace and deuce got beef with his ass!! even before that, ace still has beef w him! along w nine! kings response to quieting down nine is for NINES sake not for kurasame. he KNOWS talking to kurasame expecting ANY display of emotion is completely meaningless, and doesnt even consider it something to expect unlike nine, unlike ace, unlike cater, unlike deuce who see a human being and expect him to act like one. he is nothing more than a sad shell of a man. made worse this cycle with how queen doesnt get to try to meet him more than halfway. it sucks. and then he dies and it literally stops mattering so FUCKING WHATEVER.
anyways all this to say morse ily and you won the battle of mental strength btwn yourself and kurasame. mwah.
netflix avatar episode 5-8!
(i binged the rest of it in one go)
funky lil thoughts on a funky lil show :)
fair warning i'm going to shit on it a lot for the majority of this post but dont be fooled into thinking i hated it, i just like to nitpick in long spanning paragraphs.
okay we are fully fully going into doing their own thing territory in episode 5 and somewhat episode 6, i tried and failed multiple times to guess which episodes are they going to do and it turned out they only took the base ideas from them and almost fully did their own thing. aside from the blue spirit bits
i actually think its nice, they were shaving the episode count to the point where they only mentioned some episodes, which i can just feel deep in my bones someone already getting mad about, but i think its fine that they did it this way. they make a little remix of it. :)
koh was creepy as shit man fr i hated the 2 jumpscares god almighty. it was awesome. i didnt like the weird cgi for his face, but i got used to it eventually. i think it was certainly a choice to have him appear in ep 5 instead of how they learn of the spirits. they changed his mechanics, apparently he can just???? steal faces??? whenever???? they make it a food thing instead of a "lmao i wanna impress my mom so imma steal the faces she makes"
also mother of faces mention! ...not smething i expected thats for sure. and the fog of lost souls too.
they make kuruk pick up his slack fr, did not expect that.
i love in episode 6 that zuko and aang are forced to interact, that they have to talk to each other and in a certain way influence each other, give both a lil bit to think about beyond "if we knew each other back then, do you think we could've been friends?"
i really dont like that zuko fights back in the agni kai, makes the shit ozai did i lil less impactfull, little less brutal in the audiences eyes i think. the execution style burn he got in the cartoon was more caroonishly evil, yes, but it also showed more of zuko's character yknow? he refused to fight out of principle, he was loyal, he was "the perfect fire nation citizen" and yet that wasnt good enough.
also we got robbed of "you will learn respect and suffering will be your teacher", which is kinda wild considering how many of the shows lines got put in verbatim. they felt so strongly about pippinpaddleopsikopolis the third that they used it somewhere else when they didnt use it in omashu. but this iconic line couldnt make it in?
I also dislike this version of him speaking out, this is the first time we are hearing of an agni kai, since zhao and zuko didn’t go at it. We don’t know what it is we haven’t been introduced to it, so it being invoked now means nothing to the audience.
And i don’t think the slight was big enough for ozai to justify a duel with a child. Like before he was supposed to be quiet and his outburst was a) disruptive b) immediate upon hearing the plan c) defended the soldiers themselves, “those soldiers love and defend our nation, how can you betray them” but now its about the honor of the officers which I don’t think has as big an impact. Plus I think its actually a less “egregious” position from ozai’s side yknow? In the first version he not only defended the lives of the soldiers but said the council was betraying them in doing what they were doing. Here he just said they deserve to die better than that. Sure cartoon ozai would’ve fucked him up for less, but this ozai? This ozai who invited him to the meeting? Who asked his opinion? Who actually acknowledges that him finding the avatar was impressive? No shot he invokes an agni kai over this.
was the bit about being impressed just for the sake of fucking with azula? yeah. but imma get to that later.
live action zuko and cartoon zukos are 2 different people, which while i respect, from the stance that the showmakers are doing their own thing, i also think caroon zuko was always good. he was always peaceful, always kind. its just he got that shit beaten outta him and he compensates by being angry. this zuko is less kind, more honour bound. which is ironic considering which one of the two was constantly talking about his honor. not that he isnt kind at all, but i think we got robbed of some of the character moments he had in the show.
as much as i love the ending of ep 6 where the 41st salute him(love that they made his crew the 41st btw), i would've liked to actually see the scene from The Storm, where he gives up on the hunt for the avatar for the sake of his crew's safety. he has these moments on his own, in irohs presence, but i do think we needed to see the crew also have this.
but they add new character moments! like the recovering post agni kai, being told of his banishment. absolutely god-tier scene. and the little moment with iroh after zhao takes away aang. very nice scene, i actually like that he already has treason on the mind. episode 6 is by far my favourite. did i know it was gonna be my favourite even before starting this show because my favourite book 1 episode is the blue spirit? yeah. but i dont think that diminishes anything.
now. ozai. my mans. mr god-sculpted cheekbones. conceptually im fine with him fucking with everyone, but i am ashamed to admit that it took zhao spelling it out for the audience for me to get that thats what he was doing. i was 100% convinced he was sincere, that he had just wanted the best heir to the throne of the glorious fire nation or something. and while i am tempted to say that that is on my dumb ass for being stupid, i actually want to blame the show a little bit, because where do we see that he's not sincere? nowhere. he's not cruel to zuko, he seems to mean it when he speaks with azula about him finding the avatar, he gives no indication to the audience that what he says to him about the whole toughing up the spirit with banishment isnt sincere. he comes across as a deeply abusive father that however at the end of the day wants his children to be the best but goes about it in the most horrific ways.
maybe that's what they were going for? a master manipulator that plays his own twisted little game noone but himself is privy to, but on the surface it seems like he cares in his twisted little way? im trying very hard to look at this without the cartoon lense, but its so unbelievably hard.
for a show that usually spoonfeeds stuff like this throughout their runtime its wild that they would decide to go "here comes the airplane" this "late"
ah now i see where all of sokkas cartoony sexism fled, it went to pakku. that's so whack. his character wasnt that good to begin with but you further masacre him.
mans says himself water is the element of change, so i thought oh alright his eventual training of katara is gonna be that much nicer if he already has this down. i mean i was fine with them not doing the neclace thing, it was kinda cheesy in the show anyway, but i was expecting that turnaround due to the students. i wanted to see pakku go "mmm yes perhaps i could teach you a thing or two" after he sees his students enamored with her skill.
also what was yagodas turnaround? she was just as much into the tradition as pakku was, but suddenly she's on katara's side? all the other women are too? sure okay.
also katara didnt need to be entirely self taught, come the fuck on, she loses to pakku the same way but suddenly with no further training shes takin down zuko, shes a commander of them other waterbenders.
being entirely self taught is nice and all, but there are just certain things you dont figure out on your own. i speak from experience on this, yeah sure i can draw some guy on my own, but even a short 3 week course taught me so much more in terms of composition, perspective, camera shots, things you wouldnt even think about because they just don't come to mind as even being relevant. its that way for everything. there are just certain dots that can only be connected with the guide of someone else.
now i have to mention something that kinda bothered me by the end: in avatar: book 1 - water(although to be fair i dont think it was marketed as such) the avatar... doesnt learn waterbending. the only thing he did with water was the giant koi and well that doesnt really count does it, that was la being angry at zhao for killing tui. speaking of: i wanted to see la get the W, i wanted to see zhao taken by the glowy sea. i wanted to see zuko reach out to him, despite them being enemies.
also they take away irohs part in the restoring of balance which i think nicely foreshadowed him being a white lotus member. yeah yeah it was to make yue's sacrifice more her own choice but i really wanted him to be at least present.
onto more positive stuff i actually like a lot of the changes made to yue. makes her not just be that one random girl at the end of book one that got turned into the moon, it was yue, this actual person with dreams and motivations that sacrificed herself for the good of the world.
was the character that got added to her written kinda badly? yeah. but does that negate my point? i hope not.
i was kinda on the fence with the removal of the betrothal thingy and making hahn a decent guy, but eh... it grew on me. however it did raise a question... how old is everyone? cuz she called off the marriage at 16, but she was 16 in the show, it certainly isnt a fresh wound or hahn wouldn't've been that chill with it. im thinking 2 years, that seems about right, for the actors too. yeah i can believe aang is 14 and zuko 18, id buy that.
perhaps their canonical age is somewhere but i sure as hell dont know where.
but that train of thought did kinda answer the fact that sokka went ice dodging. i was super confused about that. but if everythings the same, just the timeline is shifted 2 years then yeah he would go ice dodging. ofc that opens the other can of worms of why didnt he go fight in the war with them if he underwent the fuckin uhhh maturity test? was it because he failed just that spectacularly? fuck if i know. i dont think the show knows either.
as a more overall thing i dont like aangs dialogue, its a more broad issue. He just doesnt seem like a kid yknow? Like even katara and sokka are more childish, they act like children who had to grow up too fast, but aang didnt have to grow up too fast, he should be forced to grow up within the span of the series. Not be the most downer adult one of them. Especially with that he said to bumi in episode 4 about solvin shit like a kid
but okay. that was mega negative goddamn.
for my closing thoughts id like to say that i really enjoyed the show. and look forward to season 2. i like the little remix of the mythos they've got goin on and i wanna see how they continue that into book 2 and hopefully book 3.
it tries to do something original, it is an adaptation after all. if you dont like it you can still watch the cartoon series, but this is a nice lil alternate version of it and i wont say that i dont like it. do i have my nitpics? sure. is the dialogue mediocre? hell yeah. but i want to see where it goes next. :)
very cool series, overall like a 7 outta 10? masks(ep 6) is the best episode, its prbly the only one id rewatch on my own without friends.
thanks for reading :)
What If... #1
Genshin Impact is a popular game in Twisted Wonderland, and recently a new banner has been released. You are a 5 Star Character. What happens then?
A/N: Let me just start a damn taglist TvT
☆
TW: None! A bit of cursing on my side XD also some things maybe wrong since i haven't played Genshin in a while! I HOPE I DIDN'T PUT ANYTHING "SHE" RELATED I'M SORRY–
GN! (Y/N) 《Other Genders Will Also Be Made》
☆
Riddle Roseheart:
His team used to have Yanfei as DPS.
But look at that, your banner caught his eye.
Mans just did a bit of research on your character and DAMN, he pulled immediately.
Your skill and burst was best for him, he literally thought it was so cool and needed to get you.
Though he'd be a little raging tomato if he lost the 50/50 to Qiqi, he still managed to get you anyways.
Still has Yanfei on the team, expect you're now DPS.
Literally took him only 5 minutes to level you to 90, hell he was glad he won't spend hours grinding for your ascension materials, he already had them STOCKED.
He's not that good at dodging please help him.
Always has a healer or a shielder in his team with you, kinda hates it hearing your fallen line and death.
Sometimes it be like that, but he actually built you well. Tries to get your constellations on your rerun, and ended up with a C1 (Y/N) ♡
At least he got one, i'll give him that. Does like, 10K damage with you. Trey helped him choose the right artifacts.
Knows decent about it but honestly once tried to give Kaeya Diluc's artifacts. Please don't let him play alone.
Always struggled with regisvines as a noob player, but now that he got you with him he'll never die.
Also bought a (Y/N) figurine but let's not get to that...
Trey Clover:
Xiangling main turned (Y/N) main.
Kinda funny how he somehow manages to pull you twice in the same 10 pull out of sheer luck–
Makes an effort to build you since you're a 5 star. Doesn't mind much but he loves admiring your attacks.
Like omg you do more damage than any asian mother's slipper hitting your face. Went to spiral abyss on floor 10, obliterated every enemy almost in seconds with you.
Please i headcannon him to always feed you even if your health bar is more than half full. I love it.
Maybe sometimes stops moving just to hear your idle/chat voice lines. He'd be like "Aw ♡ you're nice". Then proceed to keep admiring your design like Mihoyo given a 5 star rating.
Once went Co-op with Cater just as he finished doing commissions and just went feral when he saw you–
"Trey omg!? Her banner just started 30 minutes ago!"
Yes Cater, we know. He's been saving up for his moment.
Checked to see if you have any voice lines about Xiangling and you do, you're besties. He loves you more now.
Probably triple crowned you, who knows.
Cater Diamond:
LMAO he got you 7 minutes before your banner ended.
Yes, he basically used up all his wishes tryna pull for Ayaka last time and lost the 50/50. Oh well, he got you.
Suprised NRC entirely when you came out honestly. You being the absolute heaven you are. He actually pulled for you like a few times until he had like one ten pull left.
Probably searched for a (Y/N) summoning ritual and watched some.
And yay, he went over to your nation archon's statue of the seven and pulled there. Screamed when he got a gold.
Literally skipped and just saw you in all your glory.
Time to build! He may have stolen some artifacts from a character but...they were probably useless to him now.
Probably took you out on expeditions all the time just so he could raise friendship lvl and know more about you.
Will Co-op and show off his lvl 90 (Y/N). Don't stop him, he's so happy. Try not to let him know about your C6 (Y/N).
I'm talking to all of you damn wHaLes–
Anyways, since he hated Childe's guts for trying to put chaos upon Liyue he beat him up with you LMAO
Really thinks you're cool and bought a lot of merch. Cause he does tons of damage with you why not? Dedicated simp.
His phone case is basically fanart of you and your burst.
Ace Trappola:
Built your vision build instead of physical.
Doesn't wanna admit it but also tested you out and made you climb some mountains...you know it, Genshin players. Tried it with Lisa, gonna try it with you.
I also think he'd be the type to nonchalantly reply to your chat lines or burst. When you say your burst he be like...
"Damn go off, (Y/N). Kick some ruin guard ass."
Somehow manages to make decent damage with you even though he's kind of shit with building. Pretty okay.
Isn't much of the type to help other players, but when he got you almost immediately he was in a good mood and built you to help others too.
Lvl 79 (Y/N) vs Lvl 40 Cryo Regisvine...
Yes i said 79, man didn't even bother for 80. Mans too lazy to keep leveling excuse me..
HELP HE SHIPS YOU WITH HIMSELF/HIS TRAVELER–
He's the kinda guy to probably secretly look up (Y/N) x Traveler fanart or fanfiction by secret.
Still doesn't know how to get your good ending in your hangout event..somehow always ends up making you sad and absolutely despises it.
Always uses emojis to chat with Deuce, what a mood.
Deuce Spade:
The one who goes to your lines in the menu and listens to everyone single one including your battle voice lines. Only a legend like him wouldn't get lazy listening to it all...
Doesn't have your own weapon, but he gave you a pretty good 4 star weapon anyway. More decent than Ace.
Is very troubled with certain bosses but since you're now his main life made everything for him so much easier.
Came back immediately and maxed you out to 90.
Doesn't have any of your constellations but pretty fine for him to have a C6 Qiqi.
I can feel his pain of gacha luck but wowie...you love him.
And so you came home. Pairs you up in a team with the two best Genshin characters he ships you with + a healer LMAO.
You may be doing 900 dmg but he has never been more proud of himself to actually be doing damage. Until he found out he forgot to level your talents and artifacts...Ace laughed at him so much.
"Shut it you orange you can't even properly use Beidou–"
Really shut him up so well that time.
When he met you in the archon quest, he could not be any happier and would be the player who screenshots that moment with their favs and stay until they have to go :(
Okay but when he saw an epic (Y/N) cutscene HE COULDN'T HELP BUT SCREAM IN HIS ROOM–
That scene remains played in his head the entire month.
Definitely had looked at some fanfiction with Ace lmao..
Leona Kingscholar:
Doesn't main, hell never even planned to pull for you.
But since our ultimate (Y/N) simp, Ruggie, was not taking any of that bullshit from him lol.
Made a bet with him and purposely won so the lazy lion would pull for you. And he reluctantly did. Even though you're a 5 star he used to think you weren't that good.
Until he watched some videos and now keeps you in his main team with Gorou XD
Doesn't Co-op, but did so once when Ruggie and Jack wanted to play together with him.
Gets chills when he activates your burst, it's so good.
The animation lives in his mind forever. Memorized your splash art and definitely knows your entire design.
Crowned you, triple crowned lol. You are respected.
Won't admit it but got attached to you and used you for everything. Expedition, cooking, fighting, even MINING–
He grew on you and you should be happy ♡
Never does his commissions but when he saw your story quest, he didn't want to do it but went like "whatever" and did it anyway XD
May or may not have also bought (Y/N) merch..
Ruggie Bucchi:
Since he's broke of course he's an F2P.
Saved for an entire year until your banner came. You were already guaranteed so uh...congrats bruv.
He only has a bunch of 4 star characters and weapons, but has Itto and Tighnari so it's pretty much fine. Look he love those two so much BAHAHA–
A good player. Doesn't have insane gacha luck but manages to at least get the characters he wants everytime.
You're the only one with 5 star artifacts because um favoritism ♡ just like my Kaeya TvT..
Somehow zooms through the entire exploration of the nation you reside in and it's all 100% TvT
I wish i was less lazy to actually be playing Genshin rn..
When someone slanders you they 'bout to be prepared, their food is going to get taken the next day at the cafeteria.
A pretty nice player, helps others but not often.
His favorite thing to do is probably explore Sumeru around with you, and screenshot a photo of you and Tighnari, the fluffy ear boi beside each other.
When he's in a bad mood literally goes to auto join Co-op and take stuff without asking and only say thanks LMAO–
Like pls stop and just ask first oh my God.
Fears nothing. Just has a resting bitch face while playing.
Jack Howl:
Softie alert.
Doesn't know much about you since you were just released but you're from his favorite nation so why not?
Probably wanting to save for Scaramouche but...
He still has enough time for the update, so just prays and of course, with the blessing of the archons he got you. Thinks your idle animations and entertainment.
OKAY but when he finally finished Sumeru he just remembered you had a hangout event. Man rlly just forgot to do it.
Thinks you're fun to play. Help he kicked Raiden's ass with you and just you no healers or anything whatsoever–
Just a lvl 70 (Y/N) coming to beat God's ass ToT...normal..
Don't ask how he even got through the second phase, it took him around a few tries but managed to do it.
Co-ops with ADeuce + Epel pretty often.
If he was ever a youtuber w/ the other three they'd probably do stuff like "Smashing Teyvat With Four (Y/N)s" LOL
Likes Itto since he's buff and has a cool personality, so he's still in his team but (Y/N) remains superior.
Probably apologizes when you die aww TvT ♡
Because he also has Zhongli always shields you. Even if there's no fight like man does it to make sure you're safe.
Subscribes to Voltyea, ItsPaikon, Tuonto & Antonychenn. Awesome Genshin youtubers, you should too ;)
Azul Ashengrotto:
Sigh, look man....he..
He thinks you're hot. Like went wide eyed at your banner even after he thought Ayato was the best.
Also saw people using you and those players were strong af. Really likes it when you just burst it down in one go, like man he wants a (Y/N) like that.
Doesn't have much luck in pulling so spent money since there was only a few days left for your banner sgsjgsvis–
If you also have another character skin in the future you'd bet he'd buy it too. Would like how you look in anything ♡
Co-ops with the tweels + Idia. They have to carry him lol.
The only player that loves fighting Oceanid all the time.
Switches to walk mode sometimes and loves seeing you walkng like oh my God, fictional simp.
Has an all Hydro team, please don't ask why. I headcannon him to be a little inexperienced, but as time goes on he picks it up real fast and slowly gets really good.
So yeah. Usually ends up with over 5 million mora so if you fight him prepare for consequences.
Sometimes toxic people Co-op with him.
But he knows how to fight back. Shows them his (Y/N) build and they shut up.
Here's to a (Y/N) that does a shit ton of damage.
Jade Leech:
As people always say, insane gacha luck.
I wouldn't know who he mains but probably between some sort of tall handsome character or hydro character. Ayato? Zhongli? Childe? Never know.
Has every character in the game except the ones that he doesn't want. Definition of whale. Probably has C6 of almost every character.
Also another boy that crowns you cause why not ♡
Very good at bosses and dodging. This mischievous ass also makes you climb mountains...God save you, (Y/N).
Sometimes just makes you stop moving and keep his focus on you, staring right through the screen as if he thinks that would magically isekai you into TWST–
...Yeah, i'll make this a fanfic for another time.
Does your hangout event and attempts to get all endings.
And by your guessing, he might have did so. Yes, he did. All of the endings. It took a few hours but he did it.
Likes dragging hilichurls to the water and using Raiden or any electro character to electrocute them. Finds amusement in it. Mother i'm scared.
Waiting for the harbingers to get them all. I just feel the connection...for some reason. Really scary but hot vibes.
Floyd Leech:
Probably has multiple accounts, all in which have you in it.
Doesn't main you, but keeps you. He just wants to have you around. Made you a sub DPS.
I can see both him and Jade playing spiral abyss. Might rage a few times if he doesn't get 3 stars but cools down a bit after attempting one or two more times.
"Ne~ (Y/N), do your idle animation again."
Always says that when he's bored and used up all his resin. Reminds of that meme–
That guy poking a rock with a stick saying the same thing.
Anyways, plays Genshin all night usually. Finds entertainment in playing you and sometimes dares himself to even be using only you fighting weekly bosses AHHH–
Likes to put Klee, the destructive child and Kaeya, the handsome sly man with you in a team.
Got lazy to get your ascension materials for lvl 902 but when it was your birthday guess he wanted to do it somewhat as a birthday present lol.
Why do i feel like he watches (Y/N) MMD dances–
Kalim Al Asim:
Loves playing Genshin so much! Thinks it's fun.
Doesn't like seeing his characters die so probably makes a lot of food in advance before fighting bosses and stuff.
Overall shit player but gets better little by little! Sometimes forgets he gave you a 3 star weapon so quickly exits the domain just to put it back c'mon ToT
Likes using the wind glider with you probably. Reminds him of his flying carpet and thinks the plunge is cool.
Tell him to stop spending all his money for primos :>
Like you can spend in this game, yes but man probably wanted all the characters + you so bad he kinda spent over 20,000 madol the whole year...
Triple crowned C6 (Y/N). OH GOD.
Not to worry, Jamil stopped him though. A good sport. His (Y/N) does like 200 with burst damage. Had to learn about talents and stuff–
And yay he's no longer shit /j
I'm not a Kalim slander, okay don't be mad XD
I just play Genshin like a few days every month to a year so i have no idea how anything works anymore save me.
Pretty good at doing the time challenges, somehow ended up beating the ascension quest at the electro hypostasis with one second left–
His (Y/N) does 20K ♡ while my Kaeya does so much less ♡
Heart been broke so many times.
Jamil Viper:
A really good player, probably somewhat like Jade. At the start he probably mained Kaeya or something. Went straight to Diluc when he got him.
But boy oh boy you hit different cause you're (Y/N).
An F2P or a low spender, somewhere like that. Memorized all patterns and phases of Raiden, Childe & Signora.
Since he's okay it may just take him uh...probably around 10-15 minutes to beat up Raiden with you.
Once went across a (Y/N) slander account online.
God knows how or when that account got deleted but whohoo they're gone :)
Likes using you, takes you out on expeditions and God who knew he'd use your burst to kill Timmie's pigeons. Well he just saw a video about it and tried it haha bullying–
Probably went in a small state of shock seeing you in the archon quest like HELLO?? (Y/N) SIMPS ASSEMBLE??
Seeing you do all that big ass jumping and being hot..
Kinda reminded him of a second Eula or Zhongli idk–
So basically, probably tried to get some constellations on your rerun but it's up to you to know how much he got.
...C1.
Vil Schoenheit:
Time where he actually likes a character design other than Kokomi or Raiden.
Pretty much pulled for you and yea all that whatnot, we all know he'd get you XD if he has his eyes on something you'd bet he deserves to have it.
And there you are, lvl 90 (Y/N) in all it's glory.
Since doesn't have enough primogems or fates he asked Idia what weapon you should be using. Also asked for one that would be aesthetically pleasing for your character.
Crit Rate 65.3%– he's a chill player.
Mihoyo releases a new (Y/N) skin? Yes. He'll get it if he really likes it, but if it's you he'd still take it anyway. I mean like you're his best character and all, so gotta make it worth.
Never goes broke on mora #2. If being broke ever crossed your mind to him then you're very wrong.
Actually as rich in game as in real life, damn.
Not a whale though, maybe just a dolphin. Likes Yunjin too so has her with you. I'm jealous of his team, jk.
Like he ain't gonna be number two in anything, sissy.
Probably audibly gasped when he witnessed Venti get kicked by La Signora but went "Omg slay" after–
Whoever said (Y/N) is trash, he'll prove them wrong.
Rook Hunt:
I'm sorry but WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT DAMAGE–
Bro just started playing Genshin like for a few hours and already got himself a good Lisa build...
...Speedy thunder weird creature is this man?
Though higher AR means stronger enemies he does not give a shit and will absolutely fight back with his awesome skills. Took himself to Adventure Rank 60. UNLIKE ME–
Knows how to save unlike you guys and got you on your banner when he heard of your release.
Loves playing you honestly. He made you so well–
Better than any other (Y/N) main could possibly do. Yours does 15K? Bruh, this hunter does 30K ToT
Teach me your ways master Rook. Earlier about Ace and Deuce i said they read fanfiction right? Well, this guy is the one who makes the fanfiction.
Wastes no time to download Twisttpad on his laptop and his fingers typed so quick even Raiden was INFERIOR.
...Okay lame reference but at least i got that out of my head.
Doesn't give a care, even if he had a lvl 40 (Y/N) with the most terrible build ever he'd be using that in Co-op boss fights. And oh my sevens–
Somehow everyone else who was like lvl 70-80 died and he solos it and somehow manages to kill it and survive. Jade may be a good dodger, but this man is the GOD of dodging.
Never underestimate no matter how hard it may be.
Well he brought some food with him anyways. Often plays with Vil and Epel.
Epel Felmier:
PLS– the first years are literally going feral debating about which one of them has the best (Y/N).
Until Epel comes out with his and they go pikachu shocked.
Of course he didn't do it alone with his own experience. Trusted Rook to help him with it and man did it work wonders. Probably uses healer artifacts for you...why–
Well unless you ARE a healer then yay, you'll be replacing his dear 'ol Barbara.
Keeps Beidou because y e s. He chose it himself.
The fact that he's actually the most normal Genshin player in the entire fandom of Genshin makes it hilarious. Please stop bringing lvl 1 characters to lvl 90 domains–
But i once did that myself, could say it was fun though...
Much like Deuce and Jamil...and less like Vil, he is very vulgar when someone trash talks you.
Literally spits it in their face that his (Y/N) is better than your Diluc. Will not stand for any mean slander. Loves you and forever does.
Always keeps a healer like Barbara or Kokomi even if he replaces them with you, he'll probably go like...
"Alright, now protect my (Y/N). Okay?" CUTE AHDGSHW–
Kinda sad when he finds out you're shipped with other Genshin characters. Then shakes it off afterwards, he isn't gonna fall in love with a fictional charater sadly.
You're his main DPS, naturally. He didn't crown you tho.
Didn't because he doesn't have any lol. Barely plays Genshins on weekdays, usually on weekends and maybe rarely Friday too.
Idia Shroud:
The Genshin God of TWST and the biggest whale.
Don't even start on you. Just a bit of grinding and leveling, boom C6 lvl 90 (Y/N) with your weapon.
Maxed out right artifacts and triple crowned. Don't ask. The only C6 he doesn't have is Kaeya, Lisa and Amber. Look even he has his own hardships. C2 Kaeya though.
Insanely good at patterns and dodging.
One-faces La Signora regularly with no problems. Even more so he loves using you for looking hot while fighting.
His room is half-filled with (Y/N) posters, plushies, figurines, etc. you name it. Never forgets daily commissions and uses only you because he's a gamer God lol.
Has Diluc, Fischl, Barbara & Jean's other skins. And if you also have one he'll be the 3rd to have it (Azul & Vil yknow)...
Never underestimate an otaku and pro gamer.
Probably plays challenges with Lilia on a live stream like who can kill Raiden the fastest, who can kill a cryo resgisvine without breaking the corrolla, stuff like that...
It always ends so intense that fans are going crazy smh.
And sometimes there's a catch that they only have to use one or two characters. Both always use you LMAO–
Always expect better things each day in his streams.
Ortho Shroud:
Usually watches instead of plays, but Idia encouraged him to play so both could have fun.
He pulled you and Kequing ♡ first two 5 stars.
Of course a pro gamer as well like, he gives me those player vs AI robot battle vibes so much– except he's the AI and not actually bad TvT
Has lots of fun in the archon quests and weekly bosses. Expect him to get to Raiden's second face in 5 seconds.
Mihoyo has no idea wtf happened and how he did it.
Always helps other players! And when streaming, he also sometimes joins Idia and Lilia in playing. Who knows, maybe Cater as well if he has time.
Best (Y/N) build next to Idia you wouldn't believe it.
Not a C6, but somewhere near that. He'd probably get it if you get a rerun.
Also probably gives players good gacha luck and like damn thank him properly. Even if he has no idea what's going on he'll say "you're welcome" anyways.
Finds spiral abyss fun. Obtained a Xiangling and he felt happy about that.
Will literally find excitement in anything about you–
You're a 5 star. How nice! You give bonuses when cooking? That's awesome~ He's such a sunshine omg..
Loves your hangout event. Finished it immediately.
You are a character to be appreciated. Everyone agrees!
Malleus Draconia:
HE'S SO SHIT AT THIS GAME HELP LMAO–
Mostly finds the artifacts very confusing. Which ones should be used for (Y/N)? Should Lisa use travelling doctor? What does the +0 mean?
Lilia is always there to explain, and Malleus slowly understands. When i say slow, very slow.
But we'll be getting there soon nonetheless.
Amused when he pulled a 5 star which was you– like man didn't even try for the standard banner.
Wants to see if he'll get a limited character and he did. Probably has like three or four 5 star characters overall.
Does 5K damage, but that's good enough for him he says.
Probably the only TWST character that is most invested and interested in the Genshin lore. Maybe even your backstory, who knows.
If you have a really sad backstory like the others...
He'll feel bad. Always tries to remember it's fiction but can't stop feeling about it for you. Soft dragon.
When he first met you in game, i mean your cutscene–
He was both given a shock and wave of happiness. His favorite character is finally here! Very cool. Enjoyed the scene while it lasted and immediately ran to talk to you.
Two (Y/N)s up against each other...pff. Never does hangout events, actually too busy theorizing about Teyvat–
Just like anyone else. Unknown God? Celestia? The Fatui Harbingers & Tsaritsa? Expect him to be making lots of theories all the time. Sebek wholeheartedly agrees.
Lilia Vanrouge:
Not a Genshin god but could be a Genshin king probably. Another dolphin, mildly spends a little.
Pulled you on your rerun instead because he used all his primos for Zhongli. Used to main him too, always gets reminded of Malleus for some reason. Anyone else?
Doesn't even try. Can build you with his eyes closed, like do not even bLiNk and you're probably clashing dmg with Idia–
Which is why the streams are always so fun.
Co-op weekend nights with Diasomnia, in his world. He's at AR 60 and the others are probably around 50.
Will take a simple selfie with you admiring your character during the archon quest. If some epic cutscene happens he'll be very amused.
Little beastie is so strong~ he should make an entire cake dedicated to you! That's it.
Doesn't understand why everyone stopped him though.
Poor guy still doesn't know his cooking is shit but he tries– Also the one who makes the (Y/N) fanfiction.
But there's a twist to that. It's all smut. LMAO bestie doesn't even get fazed when he writes or reads lemons.
If it's you, then he gives no shit. Loves everything about your character and has a team dedicated to support you the entire time lol.
Often has to have C6 Qiqi to revive you. And probably has to always stick to Malleus incase well...stuff happens.
Overall likes your hangout event most. Good screenshots!
Sebek Zigvolt:
Very loud and obnoxious when it comes to you.
Will definitely show you off the other players with his nicely built (Y/N) thanks to Lilia, but never his first year friends because feels it's embarassing...
Manages to fight weekly bosses on his own, takes two or three tries but it's okay. He's a decent one
Imagine he bought a plushie of you and cuddles it AWW– nah that would seriously be so cute. (Y/N) simp.
Doesn't like Scaramouche for that one time he met with Traveler but wants his banner anyway...i mean, cool. Often updated with stuff and watches youtube Genshin leaks–
Asks Lilia or Silver for advice when doing puzzles.
Saw Dottore in the Sumeru trailer AND FREAKED OUT.
Another harbinger!? Damn, he'll be waiting for it. If anyonr of you want to see that trailer just message me!
Wait...are you shipped with any harbinger? Let him see.
Probably used to main someone tall and intimidating like his waka-sama...Zhongli, Kaeya, Diluc, Ayato, who knows.
Kinda felt mad when Traveler's sibling just left when they saw each other again. Hopes Genshin won't have a terrible ending and cry his crocodile tears.
Honestly same Sebek, same. Don't jinx it though.
Silver:
Used to main any hydro character or healer maybe. Thinks Kokomi is calming and cute.
But only for you he switched because like...(Y/N). That's all i have to say for you to understand. (Y/N).
Never even has to try when fighting bosses. Like–
Literally somehow obliterates them with his sheer luck. He almost falls asleep during Childe's boss fight and almost didn't manage to dodge the big whale LMAO.
Lucky he has food. Precious food for you worries. Saves some of your fanart on his phone.
So whenever he wants to sleep, he'll just look at your face and falls asleep peacefully ♡ prolly predicted you getting isekai'd in TWST so he has no problems loving you..
...Don't ask how he also has a C6 (Y/N).
Dies in the middle of an archon quest when he trials you because he just got shocked he saw you then just really stopped moving.
But oh well, that's not a problem. Say hello to steak. Or tevyat fried eggs...who knows.
Doesn't fight Raiden often. He falls asleep and dies.
Ends up snapping when he hears your soothing voice in his earphones though. Just smiles and continues playing like PLEASE I LOVE HIM HE'S SO PRECIOUS–
Mm, we love the power of (Y/N). Very delicious.
Just please always have Sebek wake him up when he falls asleep in playing, gets dejected when you die– just opens the Paimon menu everytime he feels like dozing off.
Cause y'know, Paimon's mysterious way of stopping time.
(I'M SORRY AGAIN FOR ERRORS THIS IS SO HALF ASSED..want to be added in a taglist? Just say it!)
IDK if your taking requests 🥺👉👈 But if it's open... Could you maybe write an imagine with chishiya, where Niragi trys to get under his skin by making chishiya's s/o uncomfortable 😱
Cruel Entertainment | Shuntaro Chishiya (ft. Suguru Niragi)
{AIB Masterlist}
Summary: Niragi scares you and Chishiya gets defensive
Warnings(s): murder, blood, threatening, swearing, Niragi being a murderous bastard (as usual)
Word Count: 1.8k
*reader is gender-neutral
(A/N): this went down a more different plot than this, but this scenario is a element of it
“Look I don’t mean to complain, but this seems really unnecessary,”
All eyes in the meeting room turned to your figure sitting on the edge of the table. The silence that followed your statement felt personal, making you frown slightly at the annoyed faces that the militants seemed to hold.
Aguni had suggested the executives and the militants comes together for a meeting in order to discuss moving some militants up further on the number tags.
“How is this unnecessary Y/N?” Aguni spoke up, leaning forward on the table and resting his arms. His dead eyes met yours down the other head of the table, making you grow slightly nervous at the number of eyes that were on you.
Before you spoke up, your eyes flickered towards that of Chishiya’s, your boyfriend. When he caught your glance, he lifted a subtle hand to his throat and gave a gesture to tell you to be quiet.
Ever since Hatter had died and Aguni had taken over, your right to speak your mind had been diminishing, but you weren’t going to give it up as easy as the others seemed to have.
You gulped before turning back to Aguni, deciding to ignore Chishiya’s advice. If no one else had the tits to say something, then you would.
“Why are you moving your militants to a higher ranking? Everything was going fine until you came into power,” you started, keeping a stoic expression on that heavily contradicted your inner emotions.
Aguni raised an eyebrow and looked towards the right side of the table, where his second in command Niragi sat. The imperious man smirked at cocked an eyebrow at your words, making you feel uneasy.
“Is that so?” Aguni spoke in a creepily deep tone and leant back from the table, resting in his chair.
You nodded, keeping eye contact. “Don’t listen to me or whatever Aguni, but we don’t exactly know what will happen when we collect all the cards. I know you’d hate to admit it, but I think moving the numbers for your murderous ‘besties’ so they can escape the Borderlands quicker isn’t your intention here.”
You swore you were suffocating on the air in the room. You could smell the tension between your words and the rest of the executives. It was making Chishiya’s leg shake underneath the table and his eyes roll into the back of his head at your naiveness.
Furthermore, without your knowledge, to Niragi, your forehead seemed like a perfect target at that moment.
“Y-you know, Y/N has a point,” a young girl voiced up, making all eyes shift off of you for a quick moment. She sat a few seats down, holding her head slightly low and speaking in a quiet voice. “Perhaps we should vote on things rather than just immediately putting them in place though. If we do that, The Beach would be more democratic.”
You silently thanked her in your head and turned back to Aguni, but his stoic expression didn’t seem to change.
“Alright,” he said casually as he stood up. Looking over the table and the people at it, all silent, he spoke up. “Anyone that agrees with Y/N, raise your hand high.”
You glanced around the table with a slightly desperate look in your eye, hoping at least someone put their hand up. After a few tense seconds, the young girl who spoke put her hand up, followed by a middle-aged man sitting to the right of you and a few others.
You looked at Chishiya, not knowing what to do. He had himself tucked further in his white hoodie, hair hiding his eyes and trying to look as invisible as possible. He gave you a warning stare, shaking his head ‘no’ towards you.
You frowned, confused that he wasn’t contributing. Usually, he wouldn’t hesitate to stir some drama up between the executives and the militants, so it was out of character for him.
Furthermore, the lack of agreements from other executives like Ann and Mira was throwing you off. Knowing their good nature, they wouldn’t allow everything that Hatter had built to suddenly fall to murderous men. They kept their heads low, just like Chishiya, playing with their hands and trying to be as uninvolved as possible.
And soon enough, you realised why.
“Fine,” Aguni said, eyeing the four people that put their hand up in favour of you. You didn’t know too many of them personally, as they hadn’t been at The Beach for long. They were either high ranking players or random contributors to the executives.
“Niragi?” Aguni said, nodding towards the tall male.
Niragi hummed in acknowledgment and stood up quickly, not wasting a second before aiming his rifle towards the young girl and firing.
The blast of blood that fell onto your face made you freeze, realising what you had done.
“WAIT!” you screamed, standing from your seat and screaming towards Niragi. But your cry did nothing as he turned towards the man next to you and fired once again.
You ducked in fear that he was aiming at you, falling to the floor. The sound of bullet meeting bone filled your ear, and you glanced to the side to see the limp body of the man, eyes wide and hole in his bloodied forehead.
The rest of the people that voted in your favour had either dropped their head to the table in defeat or had done the same as you and fallen to the ground to hide behind the table, but Niragi stopped firing once he was sure the man was dead.
You stood from the ground and sat back down in your chair, eyes wide and breathing heavy. You could feel your heartbeat in your head, and your hands shook violently. You attempted to hide it by lacing your fingers together and squeezing, placing them on the table.
You didn’t dare look towards Aguni but glanced towards Chishiya towards the other end. He held wide eyes and shaking hands, staring at you and putting his index finger to his lips in a gesture to make you stay quiet. You nodded lightly.
Niragi let out a loud laugh and stepped out from around his chair, making his way towards you down the end of the table. You didn’t dare move.
“See what happens when you speak your mind!” he exclaimed, coming up behind you and placing a harsh hand on your shoulder. You jumped at the sudden impact and your eyebrows furrowed in annoyance.
Not being impressed by your lack of reaction, Niragi gripped your hair and pulled your head back so you made eye contact with him. He leant forward over you, looking you dead in the eyes as you yelped from his harsh hold on you.
“Maybe, you should learn to shut the fuck up for once kitten,” he growled into your face, making you cringe from his hot breath on your skin. “That mouth of yours could get you in a lot of trouble.”
Chishiya shook in his seat, hand gripping the end of the table harshly at the sight of his S/O getting tormented. A million thoughts were racing through his mind, trying to think of something that he could do to help you but not endanger anyone else.
He looked towards Niragi, noticing the dark-haired man’s eyes flicker towards him from you. Just as he did so, he noticed Niragi running a hand down the side of your neck, making you flinch heavily. The humiliation of this happening in front of your peers was unbearable, more so in front of Chishiya.
“Niragi,” the blonde stood up, having had enough. Niragi pulled himself away from you, looking towards Chishiya’s tense body with a smirk on his face.
“It’s okay, you can leave them alone,” Chishiya said with a monotone tone, trying to seem calm. “They’ve learnt their lesson.”
The mere sight of seeing the murderous man near you was enough to make Chishiya’s heart rate quicken. Although he doesn’t seem it, he’s a very nervous person, especially when it came to your safety.
Niragi doesn’t move, contemplating what he should do as he kept a firm grip on your shoulder. You were frozen beneath him, wincing at the growing strength he was applying to your collarbones.
He let go, allowing you to let out a large breath. “Fine, save your little toy then Shuntaro,” he grumbled in annoyance and moving back to his seat. He knew that if he had a bigger scene than it already was in front of Aguni, he could perhaps lose his control as second-in-command.
You held your head down in humiliation, not daring to look up for the rest of the meeting, not even towards Chishiya, who was trying to get your attention to check that you were okay. After that shit-show, you made sure not to attract unwanted attention.
After the meeting, you didn’t even get a chance to stand up properly before Chishiya grabbed your hand and dragged you out into the hall. He pulled you towards an open balcony to escape anyone else that was around before turning around and facing you.
“Let me see you,” he demanded, making you furrow your eyebrows in confusion. “Your neck. Did he hurt you?” he asked frantically while pushing your chin up to look at the skin on your neck to see if there were any bruises. You shook your head and pushed his hands away.
“I’m fine Chishiya,” you insisted. But the way that you stared at the ground wasn’t convincing.
“...I killed them... didn’t I?” you croaked out, fiddling with the skin of your hands. The blood from the two innocent people Niragi had murdered was stained along your skin, making you feel physically sick. You almost wished Niragi had just shot you instead of the other two. It was you who spoke up anyway.
Chishiya sighed heavily and brought his hand to your face, holding your cheek in his palm. You felt slight tears run down your face, causing you to quickly wipe them away.
“Y/N, people are always going to die. You can’t stop it,” he said, running his thumb across your cheekbone. “That wasn’t your fault. They had the choice to not put their hand up.”
You nodded, trying to convince yourself it’s not your fault.
“But for now, we need to focus on our own safety,” Chishiya said, making you shift your gaze from the ground to his eyes. “We need to make sure we’re prepared to leave if any of the militants come after us within the next few days.”
Chishiya held your face in both of his hands and brought your lips together for a quick kiss, making more tears fall from your face at the comforting feeling of his warmth.
When he pulled away, he gave a sad smile and pulled you in for a hug, tucking your face into his shoulder by pushing on your head. “Make sure you stay by my side. Don’t worry, I won’t let Niragi get anywhere near you.”
(A/N): I’m sorryyyyy i know this isn’t that good. i rly need to rewatch some aib again cause it’s been ages since i last watched anything from it alsjldkajslja
I had forgotten about all the interesting bits they introduced Qian Jin with - this suave and fit character who seemed to be completely in control in front of others but was hiding real crazy levels of batshit.
Yeah, fully agree, Qian Jin should have been handled very differently, and that could have made him an incredibly compelling characters, made the emotional thread tying the season together much stronger, created symbolic parallels between our main characters, and even heightened the twin's story further.
The first problem, as you said, is that they hyped up Red-Eyes as the villain, so when QJ comes in... you know he's sketchy, but it's not clear how - is he a pawn of Red-Eyes? Are they both working for the same person so they're just co-workers? Is he just a really cool side character the way the lady cop was? So not only is my attention split by these questions, but when eventually it becomes clear that he's the "real" villain, it feels like less of a significant reveal and more of a frustrating shift in attention - suddenly I'm expected to be invested in him even though the ones I want to be invested in are the twins. This could have been partly solved if they'd had the scene of QJ kneeling in front of LTC early on in the series - establishing them as "equal" partners with a fucked up relationship in the beginning would have helped me understand to what extent I'm supposed to care about QJ, and it would have made the betrayal more impactful. He could have even still been pretending to be his sister.
The second problem was just... his backstory in general. They spent way too much time on it, and it was unnecessarily convoluted. We could tell he was crazy without adding the delusions of him thinking his wife was cheating on him. A better backstory for him would have been:
His pregnant wife is killed and the supposed killer walks away without penalty. Unoriginal, but it's certainly enough motivation, and if his goal had been to bring back his wife, it would have been an incredible parallel to LG trying to bring back CXS (if that theory holds) especially since we're rooting for LG but supposed to prevent QJ from it. It would have been a great opportunity for the audience and characters (Lu Guang) to reflect on their hypocrisy.
QJ answers the Liu family's domestic abuse incident and realizes that the son is controlling the mother. This becomes immediately an *opportunity* - if he can control these kids, he can maybe avenge his wife's death. At this point he gets the kids away from the incident, but somehow allows the mother to die or covertly kills her (she was already hurt enough it wouldn't have been difficult to do). The twins are now orphans. I really don't think this would change anything about LTC - he could still grow up as twisted as he is now without needing to have killed his own mom. In fact, finding out that QJ had a hand in his mom dying could have been an even greater motivation for betraying QJ.
He adopts the twins. At this point, instead of a flashback about his wife "cheating", showing more of their twisted relationship would have been so much better for the emotional payoff later in the season. It could have also tied in to the fact that his future child had also been killed, so he was using the twins to fill in that hole, but he did it by manipulating them. At the moment, we have zero clue what LTX's relationship with Qian Jin even is. The tension of his twisted love could have been really, really good setup for the betrayal later.
I genuinely think this could have all made more thematic sense and emphasized the brokenness of LTC's family situation by giving him a twisted father figure - as it stands now, it's not really clear what role QJ played in the twins' lives other than as a handler so their relationship has no depth. The delusion aspect would have still been there - QJ could see these as his children that he loves, and he's going to bring back his wife to complete their family, not realizing the hypocrisy because he's the one who destroyed the twins' chance at a better life with their mother.
The Lost Genius Of Qian Jin’s Character
So I had a lot of time to think yesterday (8hr of workless work, flight) and I spent about half of it just thinking about this season of Link Click. One thing I fixated a lot on was that I love the idea that Qian Jin warps his own reality in order to justify his actions… but why in that case did ep 9 include Cheng Xiaoshi? As “act breaks”? It was kinda a jarring choice that took you out of Qian Jin's perspective (not POV, i think that there's a slight distinction that should be made). This made me think more about Qian Jin’s character as a whole, and damn, I really think we missed something there.
This focuses more on Qian Jin as a character in more of a meta sense and how he did or didn’t (spoiler: he didn’t) meet the expectations that many of us had for S2. I use the term “viewers” as a reflection of the general consensus on the season on Tumblr and Twitter, where I find most of my Link Click info, but of course we all have very different opinions on the show and I respect that! Would love to hear any other thoughts on Qian Jin and this season.
FUCK he could’ve been so good. The conducting music for no one, the odd hours at the gym (his intro), the twisted relationship with the twins that he mistakes for parenting, the facade of the suave and cunning mastermind that he dons even though someone ALWAYS does his dirty work for him?? Not to mention the warping of reality and victim blaming that he employs in his mind like an obsession to be justified in his actions. Couple that with his backstory… that's honestly a genius concept, especially because so much of S1 had to do with the truth behind and within photos and how much you can get away with manipulating it.
Something went wrong in its execution, though. Frankly, it was obvious from the start that the writers would have to work very hard to get viewers to care about Qian Jin because they had introduced a completely different and therefore more compelling villain that we had spent the PAST 2 YEARS theorycrafting for. Introducing the potential “Red Eyes/Hong” (crying… those were the days) identity as twins was a pretty smart way to keep the audience on their toes and continuing to ask questions, but they did nothing with it until the halfway mark of the season was coming up. Maybe this could have to do with mistakes that come earlier into one’s career as a showrunner (thanks @daily-linkclick for the info, Director Li is an experienced director but he’s only run one other original show before), but introducing and fixating on a completely different villain was one of the biggest missteps of the season. In the end, many viewers only watched Qian Jin to get to the answers that they wanted about the mysterious person with abilities and the abilities themselves, which we still haven’t gotten answers for. In its place, we’ve gotten SO MUCH info on Qian Jin.
The execution of Qian Jin's character has been jumbled and confused. I don't believe that the intention of the writers was to manipulate the viewer’s opinions on Qian Jin, but it sure felt like they were trying to at times. Making a mystery around whether or not his wife cheated (which BTW, way to go writers, using yet another female character as a plot device… anyone else kinda feel that Qiao Ling’s characterization fell flat this season? Like I enjoyed it at first but the more eps that came out the more apparent it was that a concerning amount of her character only exists in the context of her relationship to CXS. So sad) was a strange angle to approach his backstory from. This angle focused on Qian Jin’s victim-blaming behaviors in a way that honestly made me uncomfortable. It wasn’t the fact that it was happening that made me feel this way, because a cruel reality is that it is pervasive in most (if not all) societies, but how it felt as though the writers were trying to garner sympathy from and for his behavior through the "did they/didn't they" of his wife and his acting partner.
What if they revealed the truth before airing s2ep9? If the potential cheating was treated more as an fact rather than a mystery, then maybe his characterization wouldn’t have felt as condescending toward the viewers. Qian Jin as a character who tries to maintain a perfect face for Quede Games and the parallels of how this also happens on a deeper level for himself internally could have recontextualized his actions in an compelling way that didn’t require a Female Plot Device for it to be centered around. His backstory should make him an interesting character. It is at the center of his character, but it did not really work at the center of the plot for S2 because the viewers did not care enough about him for the writers to get away with its sloppy execution.
The thing that sucks is that there are some flashes of brilliance in all of this. I adore that scene in the back of the theater, when Qian Jin kneels before Tianchen and asks what they should do next with a smirk on his face that implies that he doesn’t understand the implications of his position. It captures the relationship and power struggle between them so well without spelling it out for us. Also his wife’s posters that remain hanging further shows us how deep the damage from all of this runs. His one tense interaction with Xiao Li leaves the captain bitterly reminiscing about how he’s changed (which… maybe he hasn't. Maybe his values are just misdirected these days). And back to the beginning, the visit to Ms. Chen was so cruel but revealed so much to us about him, how he plays dirty and doesn't have any trouble killing off the occasional acquaintance, no matter how sympathetic their circumstances are. He clearly lacks the morals that we see as standard in society (don't kill/hurt ppl), but he draws the line at Ma’s nasty burp. There is just so much potential richness in his character that gets lost in a mystery that viewers never wanted. We could’ve had something great in Qian Jin’s character - of course, we would’ve hated him just the same - but instead, we got this, and it really is a shame.
Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Thanks....
OMG! I feel like I'm about to reveal way too much of myself here but your question is greatly appreciated. I had to take a minute to really think about this as I forgot every bit of media I’ve ever consumed so I mostly focused on recently consumed media that I could recall in a panic. I'm sure as soon as I post I'll be like "damn, I forgot about X!"
Heaven Albright - Stupid & Contagious by Caprice Crane
This book was so funny to me when I was younger I literally handed out copies of it. Looking back, it’s probably because I immediately identified with her penchant to overthink a situation but she’s also able to finesse even if it is by the seat of her pants. In fact, she only seems to shine when she’s really trying because otherwise she’s doing one embarrassing thing after another. But when it’s time for her to kick it up, she could be in her head about what she’s doing but make it seem effortless and nonchalant. She can be a little shit when she wants to be but she’s filled with great ideas, if she only had the chance to knock one out of the park. At the beginning, she finds herself perpetually down on her luck but she eventually finds her way along and I loved that for her (even if it is bumpy).
Aslan Jade “Ash Lynx” Callenreese – Banana Fish by Akimi Yoshida (anime only)
I am incredibly fond of Ash and, while I want to read the manga for some semblance of closure, I’m still regularly devastated by the anime so I can’t yet. The man is a survivor. He is the grass that grows through cement sidewalk. He tripped over banana fish and never shied away from the task of tracking it down and stopping it at the source, no matter how large the conspiracy got or how much he lost. My heart feels heavy any time I see a Banana Fish edit or any fanart, even the happy ones. He is tough as nails and yet, as soft as an exposed nerve which is really apparent with Eiji’s introduction. I think it showed how, despite what he’d been through and the face he wore to hide its impact on him, he was still incredibly hopeful that he’d one day be loved and accepted by someone sincerely. (side note: yes, I got sad thinking about this.) He was incredibly brave because he had no other choice.
Satoru Gojo – Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami (manga and anime)
Gojo deserves more grace than some of the JJK fandom gives him, I swear. The man is deeply traumatized from a very young age and puts on a brave (and puckish) face just to keep moving forward. I don’t love him because he’s overpowered but him being overpowered is part of why I love him. He hails from one of the top three jujutsu families and could be a shitstain like Naoya Zenin but he isn’t and I think that’s part of why so many people misinterpret his character. There was a tweet, since deleted, (I think from @bcllamyy) that asserted that the reason why a lot of people assume Gojo is a douchebag is because they can’t imagine being strong and beautiful and not being a garbage human. Gojo is canonically strong and attractive but is a relatively good person. He takes care to save students in hopeless situations and preserve as much of their youth as he can because he didn’t have that growing up. I’ll concede that this isn’t purely altruistic, he has a clear objective in mind in taking these kids under his wing, but that’s about as much as you can expect from someone who didn’t have a proper childhood himself. His power was both feared and coveted by others and it left him incredibly lonely until he found an equal, the one and only person he could have by his side. It’s the take-it-with-a-smile trauma response for me. Heavy is the head and all. Oddly, this is my comfort character rn so things are not going well.
Levi Ackerman – Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama (manga and anime)
Levi Ackerman refuses to die because he’d have to go back to hell and, quite frankly, most devils don’t know how to properly clean up after themselves. Levi being picked from the gutter and growing to become Humanity’s Strongest Soldier despite his diminutive size and destitute origins is so ironic. Putting his life on the line and fighting for those that condescend to people from where he came from, he carved out every inch in the path to where he is now. This is a man who does not die and carries the weight of his fallen comrades into every battle. While seemingly cold and angry, he is, in very small gestures, shown to be incredibly compassionate and forlorn. I think he just knows that if he thought about the circumstances of those living within the walls or even of those he’s left behind on the battlefield, that he would find no meaning in trying to escape the walls or get out of bed at all.
Hermione Granger – Harry Potter by She Who Must Not Be Named (novels and movie)
Given the author’s penchant to be a shit-eating TERF, it’s hard to admit that this franchise was such a big part of my childhood. I primarily identified with Hermione and her predilection to be an insufferable know-it-all and her tendency to stick her nose where it didn’t belong. Considering the author, perhaps she intentionally made Hermione’s creation of Society for the Promotion of Elfish Warfare (SPEW) seem so outlandish and mockable in universe... but that’s beside the point. Hermione, regardless of her social standing in the muggle world, came into the wizarding world at a disadvantage and showed everyone her ass as she bested them time and time again. Not only that but, rather than make herself small after being called a “mudblood”, she continued to soar and was loud and proud about advocating for others who were also disadvantaged. She could be the brightest witch Hogwarts had seen and still be unlikable, bushy hair and all. Despite not being of the wizarding world initially, she made a point to be in the know and was voraciously studious, frequently navigating things better than Harry who came into the wizarding world at the same time with a similar level of working knowledge but largely remained clueless. Baby girl had to drag him through the plot and to the point most of the time.
Tina Belcher - Bob's Burgers
Because same. BIG same. Tina is the mood, the vibe, the moment. Add the rest of the Belcher family to this as well tbh. Tina, like the rest of the Belcher family, is unapologetically her. Regardless of whether freaky friend fiction is the way to go, she unabashedly puts herself out there again and again despite her groan inducing anxiety. She knows she's that girl even when navigating the ups and downs of whatever life (or that B Tammy) throws at her.
Katsuki Bakugo – My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi (manga and anime)
I’m not caught up on the manga yet (so close but so far) but Kacchan’s character has a special place in my heart. I think as the reader, we’re meant to be stymied by him as we view the story through Deku’s lens because Deku lacks the comprehension of a non-biased narrator. Understanding this, I came to love (or maybe pity) his character while reading the manga because, when I was an anime only, I found his abrasiveness toward Deku to be incredibly unpalatable (because it is). However, reading through the manga as slowly as I am, I recognize that they’re both emotionally constipated kids being weaponized by some invisible hand while trying to understand and reframe their connection to one another. Literal children grappling with the burden of being heroes and finding it’s not all it’s cracked up to be while self-actualizing under duress. Casual. Bakugo is fierce, prideful, aggressively loud, and largely dislikable. He shoulders public criticism from adults who don’t bother to understand his dysfunction but continues to press on in the right direction because he’s idealized this for so long and wonders if he's, in fact, deserving or good enough. I think what’s captivating about his character in the manga is that he’s presented as a very static character but he’s slowly being exposed as a more dynamic character in tandem with Deku's (power) evolution.
Dean Winchester – Supernatural
There’s something about a closet nerd himbo who calls his vintage car “baby” that speaks to me. Dean Winchester, very much brawn over brain, maintains a doe-eyed innocence and sense of wonder for the things he missed out on while growing up under the “tough love” of John Winchester and I love that dichotomy. You never get the sense that his unconventional lifestyle bothers him or that he feels he lost out on anything but then you see the bravado falter when he allows himself to enjoy something other than the thrill of a one-night stand. The biggest things that come to mind are when he was like a kid in a candy shop in the bunker having found a place to set up roots and him sleeping easy when he was able to settle down with Lisa. Both always struck me as so sad. I think back to the parts of himself that he hid from Sam (like his time in the halfway house) and for the delight he had to find in small comforts like pie. Family was all Dean knew and he grabbed at it desperately and to his own detriment time and time again.
Nicholas D. Wolfwood - Trigun by Yasuhiro Nightow (anime only)
I love the contradiction of Wolfwood's character. He can, for all intents and purposes, be considered a sinning holy man though he does have morals. I have a soft spot for antiheroes (see: love for Wolverine and Deadpool) though I'm not sure Wolfwood cleanly fits into this classification. He is certainly someone who will do "bad" things to satisfy a "good" goal though. For lack of a better word, his innuendos suggest he's led a less than savory life before becoming a man of the cloth and he is clearly fine with toeing the line when someone is watching. But make no mistake, the ends justify the means when he needs to make a game time decision on what to do. There's a reason that cross is a burden to carry and he's just the man to bear it. At the crux of everything, he has a sympathetic heart and this was the first anime that made me cry.
Nobara Kugisaki– Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami (manga and anime)
This explanation contains a spoiler for the manga so I put her at the bottom in case you wanted to avoid.Nobara is a refreshing departure from the static nature of a shonen tritagonist. For one, she has zero romantic interest in Itadori nor Fushiguro and I don’t see that changing, especially after their initial introductions. She lets them as time progresses but she carries her own weight and isn’t a damsel in distress relegated to do nothing toward her own rescue. She can independently take down a Special Grade curse (and pull off a black flash) while feeling and looking good doing it. Nobara’s femininity is something she’s vocal about, questioning why kicking ass can’t be feminine, and she safeguards it from antiquated notions from the likes of Mai and Momo. Though hailing from the country where her stubborn individuality stuck out like a sore thumb, she’s unabashedly a material girl and so fiercely confident, she dares anyone to look down their nose at her. I can’t imagine we’ve seen the end of her story since she’s such a vivacious character. Maki also deserves to be on this list but I tried to diversify source material. Plus, a lot of what makes her awesome would be an even bigger spoiler if you’re not caught up.
Looking back on this list, there's a distinct theme of main character energy but also a significant lack of diversity. I realized that some of my favorite pieces of media didn't necessarily have a breakout character in my mind, either. This was such a great exercise, thank you for asking! Who are your favorite characters and why, @elaine2895?
I choose to believe that steve harrington is not going to die. if he dies on the show no he didn’t. hope that helps 💕
AMAZING logic anon, i like it 😂 but if you're curious, here's where my heads at for why i think he might die, vs why i think he won't (below the read more to avoid spoilers)
things that make me think that they're gonna kill steve:
first, just basic fear of his current situation: he's got all those gnarly demobat bites and they explicitly had robin express a fear that this could lead to some sort of upside down rabies/infection. i know steve always gets beaten up and bruised every season, but this is the first time someone is actually acknowledging that his injuries could be potentially life threatening, so i am immediately On Edge just in case.
next, they KEEP giving him big heroic moments this season and have characters (dustin, eddie, nancy, etc) actively talking about how impressive he is. that whole scene where eddie is going on about how cool and awesome steve is??? yeah, i find it v sus
ALSO steve was the only teen character who got a letter from max. i'm not entirely sure if the letters are going to come back up again, but if they killed steve i could totally see them bringing it back after he's dead.
the return of the nancy/steve romance: this plot feels like it's somewhat come out of nowhere, and i'm not entirely sure what to make of it if they're NOT killing steve. if they are planning on killing him this season, then it makes a little more sense to me—it's almost as though they're attempting to round out his narrative arc, bring it back to s1 and basically make the case that steve DID love nancy, that she was his one even if he wasn't hers. i imagine if he dies, he might do so while saving her in some fashion. i'm not sure where this tension is going if he survives, bc i just don't see any possibility of them actually getting them back together (and i don't really WANT to see that)
if they DO kill steve, they've done a good job of introducing eddie as his replacement—another teen character who already has a brotherly type bond with dustin and is now in on the upside down and becoming friends with nancy and robin. if steve dies, eddie can pretty easily slide into his role for s5.
last, steve is the fan favorite. as this is the penultimate season, i could see the writers wanting to make it clear to the audience that no one is safe anymore and that things are going to get darker before they get better. killing off steve would have the maximum impact as he's the character who's gone through the most growth and is truly beloved by the audience.
now here's why i think they won't actually kill him:
flip side of my last bullet point on the other list: steve is the fan favorite!! there's NO WAY they'd kill him. stranger things has a history of going out of their way to avoid killing main cast members, and it seems unlikely that they're going to start now. if they really wanted to cross that bridge, they would have left hopper dead at the end of s3.
i think more likely than killing off steve, they're gonna kill off eddie. stranger things has a track record of introducing side characters in each season and making the audience care for them before killing them off to cause maximum angst without ever ~*actually*~ threatening the lives of the main cast. think bob newby from s2 and dr. alexei from s3. more likely, they're going to have eddie make the sacrifice play after he's spent all season talking about how he's a coward who ran/hid, and he's going to die protecting the others (from the trailer for s4 pt2, i would not be surprised if it happens when he's playing the guitar while in the upside down.) ALSO, i just don't see how eddie survives when there's a whole mob in the town convinced that he's a satan worshipping murderer?? so if he dies, he can be the town scapegoat while the main cast knows The Truth about how he was A Hero (queue angst)
basically, i don't think there's any way we get out of s4 with BOTH steve and eddie alive. i would obviously love it for them to both return in s5, but if one of them IS going to die i think based on stranger things' track record, it makes more sense that eddie will be the one to kick it
last, there was the stranger things themed monopoly game that was accidentally released too early in target and from the wording it sounds like MAYBE someone else will die? but also it's vague enough that they could survive (i'm being vague here in case no one wants those spoilers, though i'll say most of the cards spoil vol1). to be specific, it's the phrasing of "brave pal" that makes me assume the character dies.
anyway, THERE YOU GO, that's what my brain has been cycling through since i watched the first half of s4. we've got like, a week and a half before we find out the answer so i guess i just have to be patient! (which i hate)
#ask#anonymous#stranger things#steve harrington#my first list is definitely longer but i think my second list is more convincing lol
