I don’t normally post about Harry Potter fandom stuff on ANY platform because I’d like to keep my head, but someone on the clock app got me FIRED UP so I present a series I’d like to call 🥁🥁🥁

Reasons I hate certain Harry Potter characters:

Part Serverus Snape

Neville Longbottom. This child has been relentlessly bullied by his peers, and instead of trying to intervene and put a stop to the bullying (like a good teacher would) this man ALSO BULLIED this child. From first year until 6th or 7th this kid was treated TERRIBLY. And to put the cherry on top of the shit sundae, in the infamous boggert scene, guess what form the boggert took when Neville had to face it? Not the woman that that tortured his parents into insanity and took them away from him when he was an infant. No. HIS TEACHER. This child’s greatest fear was a TEACHER!

Shockingly (even for me) I hate this man significantly less than I hate other characters, but I still hate him. Yes, he protected Harry in multiple scenarios, but by god he made sure to project that hatred for his dead father towards him at any chance he got. Plus, the only reason he protected him was because of his unhealthy obsession with Harry’s dead mother. To any Snape lovers that might be reading this: I respect your opinion and I’m not saying you can’t like Snape. What I AM saying is that I don’t want to hear about all the reason why I should become a Snape lover, because I promise it’s a lost cause. I loved Allen Rickman as an actor for him, and I think he played the character very well (may he rest in peace) but that is the extent of my love for Snape.

Most laughable Milkvan argument is that “they’ve been building up Milkvan for four seasons” bc no the fuck they haven’t??? If anything they’ve been deliberately disassembling Milkvan for four seasons 💀💀 Mike and El entered into a romantic relationship when they like 12 after knowing each other for a week. They dated for like one summer and then broke up, and have been in a strained long distance relationship that’s hanging on by a thread for eight months. It’s “been built up” where and how??

Meanwhile, even had Mike and Will gotten together in s1, they still would have had seven years of best friendship as the foundation of their relationship, but (thankfully) they didn’t get together after just one season. They’ve spent several seasons growing up, becoming more important to each other, and their relationship has evolved many times over. Their love for each other has licherally not even metaphorically been carefully crafted together like a work of art, so much so that the length of this slowburn will have taken the totality of the show’s five seasons to be completed. Literally a ten year long slowburn for people who have been watching since the beginning. And they want to argue that Milkvan has been “built up”??? Don’t make me laugh lmao.

i need to talk about how much i love the pjo show's way of introducing annabeth's character's backstory, specifically through her getting used to percy's chronic loyalty

the way she attacks him with a hug both times she thought he might've been gone forever??? (the arch and after he returns to chb) this girl who doesn't hold her breath over people staying around for her, who is so so relieved everytime percy comes back to her

the way she is absolutely appalled by percy's insisent reassurance. his "i'm perfectly comfortable with that, people make mistakes" his "people who love you shouldn't treat you like that" his "you are better at this than me, you just are" this is just percy being percy, always seeing the best in people, and never once treating her like she has to prove anything to him to be treated with care

and she's so caught off guard every time!! she tells grover to tell percy to pull himself together. she tells him "i guess so" when he asks if he has to earn it with her too. she is IMMEDIATELY at a loss for words when percy tells her that she's the one meant for the quest. that she's better at this. that he's not trying to sacrifice himself for his own glory, it has nothing to do with him, he's only thinking of her

and that's so new to annabeth!! someone who isn't trying to make her prove anything! someone who from the beginning saw her worth! not someone like her mother, who would see her die because she felt embarassed by her. not someone like her father, who loved her at first and because of someone else, began to not(or at least she thought so). not like Thalia, who made her prove herself, who for all valiance, still died, still left her. not like Luke, who promised family, and then betrayed her.
