fitz is such a mad lad for deciding he’ll resurrect his dead “best friend” on a grief-stricken whim while not even having had the chance to process his surrogate father’s death let alone the only person in the world that he’s ever fully let himself come to trust. like i don’t think this man even realizes just how much he loves his fool, like my guy has a duty and responsibilities and a life now, he has to serve his prince and protect his daughter and train his coterie and do all these things but the moment that death becomes real and he has to face the prospect of actually living in a world without beloved he’s throwing caution to the wind and willing to risk it all as long as it ensures the fool a place in this beautiful and terrifying new world he worked so hard to shape. “take my life. i will take your death. idc” like this is some orpheus flinging himself into the depths of the underworld to return his muse to life type shit. i can’t get over it (also the fact that nighteyes is the only one who knows & understands the true depth of what the fool’s friendship means to fitz is so great to me)
