So I finished the Fitz and Fool Trilogy and man.. I’m so disappointed with it😭 I loved the Bee POVs but man all the intrigue and care in certain aspects of the story weren’t there for me. Sighhhhhhh 😔

I reading the final book of the Rain Wild Chronicles and did Hobb forget Slyve was 12 and Harrikin was 20 😭😭 it’s somehow worse than Malta and Reyn

I can tell she wasn’t feeling these books as much bc they lack the depth her books usually have. I usually wouldn’t say anything but idk man these books are pretty shallow and these character romance (THE ROMANCE SUCKS!) plots are supposed to be happy endings unless DIRECTLY stated otherwise.

Everyone being paired together feels like an anime where at the end a character has to end up with someone.

Please let me get to the Fool and Fitz Trilogy.. I miss my boys man 😢

I might sound like a Hobb hater or I might even get called illiterate or even sensitive for this but y is it that every time I read a book of Hobb that has female POVs there’s some type of SA involved

Now I don’t have a problem with SA being in media it’s fine if it’s handled correctly. I definitely think Hobb handles the SA well but it’s tiring to read female POVs from Hobb because I know what to expect. Like why am I reading a POV from a female DRAGON and she’s getting SAed like ???! No way.

This might be a hot take but I think Hobb handles the SA of the male characters a lot better than she does her female characters.

Kennith, Brashen and Fitz do not have their SAs “shown” it’s told after the fact. Not only that but they’re able to live their lives without being casted away from the story or plot.

Then we have Serilla and Althea who become essentially useless to the plot after they are SAed. Like seriously what is that about ? Am I trippin or no? Like why does Althea have to look at the eyes of her abuser everyday ?? Then have that same abuser revered by everyone? To make matters EVEN worse Althea gets partially forged WITHOUT consent I know Paragon is was just trying to take the pain away but being ripped of your autonomy multiple times in the story is something.

Im done with my rant. If someone could enlighten me on this matter that would help. Maybe I’m seeing things wrong. I understand SA is unpleasant and is supposed to make the viewer uncomfortable. That’s not the problem it’s the over representation of it mainly.

Just finished Fool’s Fate

I’m on my knees !!! FOOL BELOVED MY LOVE 😭

I wish they would have stayed together maybe not as closely because Fool wanted to go home but some contact would have helped. It definitely seemed like Hobb wanted to end the series here but changed her mind for some reason. This book ends on a happy note .. I guess it was too happy for Hobb 🤣🤣.

Can’t believe I read something so intimate as Fool and Fitz being together and then the book is starting to end and he confesses his love to a widow IN FRONT OF HER CHILDREN 🤡 and of course the Fool broke up with Fitz and told him he can’t have both him and Molly.

Can’t believe Hobb gets upset with readers for assuming Fitz is bi or thinks him and Fool are WAY more than just good pals. Me personally I’ve never kissed my homegirls palms and told her goodbye and that we’re breaking up but I guess whatever helps rock her boat.
