i was ALSO under the assumption that dan feng is dead and dan heng is just a Fucked Up On Purpose reincarnation of himself. but these TWO screenshots fuck it all up

(apparently this was data mined from the game and hasn't been deleted but im unsure if its 1.3 leaks for imbibitor lunae's companion mission or not)

and this is just a screenshot from Luocha's companion mission where March is talking about a novel that has a molting/de-aging story beat and said novel is a main focus throughout the mission

the clear use of "molting" is. super telling especially since Luocha is a follower of the abundance and has unclear motives on the Luofu that havent come to light yet compared to Dan Feng's gay gay homosexual gay immortality sin

and boy does hyv like to drop hints like this in the patches leading up A Big Reveal

this makes the lore EVEN MORE complicated than it already WAS trying to figure out whats going between these two(?) characters and if Dan Feng was actually just de-aged its honestly So Much More Tragic than just Dan Feng dying because Dan Heng IS Dan Feng. Blade ISN'T as delusional in thinking they're the same person, though Dan Heng isn't trying to gaslight gatekeep girlboss by pretending not to know Blade because he GENUINELY doesn't. Dan Feng isn't dead, Dan Feng just doesn't exist anymore in the capacity that his loved ones can remember . And it hurts SO much more.

This also explains why Jing Yuan was acting so fucking insensitive to Dan Heng in the 1.2 trailblaze mission. Jing Yuan is a long-life species and not a stranger to the death of people around him, he is familiar with the Vidyadhara reincarnation cycles & him repeatedly referring to Dan Heng as Dan Feng is unwarranted and not in character IF Dan Feng is actually dead. If Dan Feng was de-aged & grows into being Dan Heng that throws a huge fucking wrench in the already messy & convoluted Vidyadhara reincarnation. His friend did not die and move on to their next incarnation that is to be expected of Vidyadhara, Dan Feng NEVER died but his existence was so altered to the point that his death would have been kinder

He’d heard all about how Ratio from nothing to everything, pampered and treated like a prince by your mother’s court. He felt a twinge of jealousy that someone of similar origin to him could have such a different upbringing, but he brushed it off, not wanting to open old wounds.

And then he meets you. Someone clearly cautious of him, but treating him with kindness and due respect nonetheless. It was refreshing; the IPC were hated by almost everyone, and his past meant he was far less respected than the other advisors. You aren’t immune to his manipulation tactics, and he finds that the more he talks to you, the more he falls. Your heart is far too pure for the life you’ve been born into, and it pains him to think that anyone but him could possibly take advantage of it at any time. And as he manages to slither his way past the walls you’ve so wisely built around yourself, as he beholds you— the real you— he can’t help but feel that it should have been him. Your mother should have found him, and he should be the one you depend on, the one who makes your face brighten and your posture relax at the mere sight of him.

No matter. He’ll find his place by your side, one way or another.

General Jing Yuan of the Xianzhou Luofu is a massively influential and renowned figure in Queen Fu Xuan’s court. The Luofu’s most decorated general in history, he commands respect and admiration in every room he walks into, and his personable demeanor only does him favors. You shudder at the feather-light touches she leaves against your arm, her velvety voice doing little to mask the threats she directs toward your kingdom should you deny her affections; if you won’t come to her willingly, she has no qualms about taking you by force. 

Outlaw Boothill is a massive pain in your rear. The most notorious thief in all the kingdoms, his persistent evasion of authorities all around the world leaves you perplexed, frustrated, and somewhat impressed. Wanted by almost every empire, he seems to have an affinity for messing with yours specifically. He’s broken into your palace countless times, stealing anything from dinner plates and cutlery to one of Veritas’s rubber ducks. He’s managed to get into your chambers the past few times, though, and the thought of the missing jewelry and articles of clothing leaves your skin crawling.

Once a knight for a kingdom with cruel rulers, Boothill saw the way your subjects genuinely adore and respect you and decided to do his own research. Masquerading as a palace hand when he’s not out causing chaos, he quickly finds himself flustered by your authenticity and kindness toward all your servants, even him. You’re everything a good ruler should be, and he can’t help but wonder what things could’ve been like for him had he served you. 

He never takes anything of real value from your palace like he does with the other royals— just knowing he’s got your attention is enough of a prize for him.

OUGHH..... YEAH... ive always felt that dan feng would feel guilty for putting his next incarnation through That but feels some sort of affection towards him, proud of him for fighting for a new life. also dan feng feeling very at ease knowing that, even though that HE didnt get experience the freedom he craved but dan heng gets to and so does all of his future intercarnations...

while i think its important for dan heng to face his fear and anger so he can begin the healing process... ive always hoped there was like. the last whisper of dan feng's consciousness who apologizes that dan heng had to bear his sins and urges him move forward with whatever life he wishes to pursue. dan hengs perception of dan feng changed and feels emotionally ready to fully understand his past so he can finally heal. my hopeium dream for the short was dan heng dreaming more clearly about the events of the sedition and finally realizes who blade really was and what dan feng did to him which propels dan heng to finally understand his past with determination (paralleling to the nightmare teaser before the game came out, but wakes up with clarity rather than fear)

the short was so good visually tho i loved it so much.... the fact we got to see dan feng (somewhat, even if he was an ooc version created by dan heng) makes me so happy since now theres good enough reference of him that i can draw him properly now 😭

OC-tober day 2 - New OC

Ugh, i did some digital adjustments to it, minimal stuff such as lighting correction and a leg that was too short xd yeah i'm still learning how to ink😅

Anyways, for day 2 i drew Lola. I'm a huge HSR fan and i wanted to make a fandom oc for once lol as lately all my ocs have been entirely original or deoncelerized (so again turned fully original.) She has a fully orginal story that i created using the pre-existing HSR in-universe logic and lore to worldbuild her own "planet", culture and other stuff like that. I'm still working on it as i'm very nitpicky but i do like the direction it's going.

basically, a memory bubble appeared in the old weapon testing ground after i completed all of the hyperlink battles for aetherium wars.

when i interacted with it, i got the following conversation.

after the last line, there was an ellipsis (...) not indicated to be from sampo nor giovanni, before going back to where the player is. in typical memory bubble fashion, the screen was pure black except for the dialogue.

it disappeared after i interacted with it, but this was the location of it.

also, after interacting with it, you get an achievement called "confession of the mask"

i kinda assumed that he was one of the masked fools this entire time, believing the popular fandom consensus, so this doesn't surprise me all that much.

but i'm curious if there was any actual proof of this that i just didn't pick up on. (aside from that one cutscene towards the end of the belobog quest and the rating gun thing)

My tragic backstory is repeatedly choosing the plot twist character to obsess over. Oh look! a silly little guy introduced in the middle of the first adventure. They're not central to the story, but there is just something about them that's enough to keep you interested.

Fast forward like halfway through the story and they the key to every question you have.

the general public know how utterly unprofessional & scandalous the whole thing is but absolutely eat that shit up. they're ravenous want to know every single detail about their relationship because its such Juicy gossip and people get genuinely invested in the relationship, but there's all kinds of like. tabloids with headlines like:
