While I'm yapping about the potential endings for Amphoreus, I don't know if they're going to fully axe off Lygus (Zandar's got eight extra bodies running around, they can afford to kill one off) but if I wanted them to get really poetic and fucked-up about it...

Not dead, not all the way. Still alive in a certain definition.

Ending in a scaled-up version of the memory loop he gets stuck in at the end of 3.5. His personal memory encapsulates the entire history of Amphoreus, and that's going to be exploited as a means of "solidifying" the planet (by the Garden's logic that only things which are remembered can truly exist). Replaying the entire Amphoreus experiment on repeat indefinitely, a situation in which something he helped create leaves him completely incapable of learning anything new or doing anything original as a form of dramatic irony.

While the rest of Amphoreus' citizens get to enjoy the sun of a new dawn as they walk into a fresh tomorrow, I want him as the last one stuck in a loop. The only man still in the cave, watching the lights on the wall as shadows of the past replay over and over and over for him and him alone.

...but that's probably too mean for Hoyo writing so, I dunno, maybe he ends up absorbing the Black Tide and turning into a walking backup copy of the Irontomb program. (shrug)

Before I remembered epilogue patches exist my assumption about 3.6 and 3.7 was that 3.6 was going to be us dealing with the Garden's forces on Amphoreus now that they're going to be a more active member of the plot, and then once they're handled we move into the finale where Irontomb is the big threat we fight.

Now that I realize we're probably fighting Irontomb in 3.6 and having the epilogue in 3.7, my train of thought is more like...

The Garden is probably going to be an important player in how Amphoreus' problem resolves (I imagine in a "deal with the devil"-type way), and then they continue to linger around Amphoreus as a recurring problem we confront in continuance missions (like the IPC for Belobog).

Either way, I'm interested in seeing what the Garden and the rest of Fuli's pathstriders are capable of as full-on villains, given they've been portrayed with a pretty cavalier sense of decency and we've already seen them do some ridiculous stuff through Mr. Reca.

Alright they didn't do the big roster teasers until 1.6 and 2.7, the last patches in their respective versions' livestreams, so we should still have until 3.8 to get a grip on whatever comes next.

Though we DID have more time to ruminate and guess on what Penacony and Amphoreus were going to be like since 1.X and 2.X had plenty of continuation patches after their main stories were up. With Amphoreus we're looking at getting a name-drop at the end of 3.7 and then getting the big teases in the 3.8 livestream during the same version.

We only have 3.6 and 3.7 left for story patches on Amphoreus and for weeks I've been thinking about that fact as "oh, so we have an extra patch and then it ends in 3.7"

But the sudden and jarring realization I had earlier today is that, you know, epilogue patches exist. The Luofu and Penacony both had 'em.

3.6 has to be the actual climax of Amphoreus and then 3.7 is the wrap-up that sets us up to head to the next world. The understanding that we are very likely hitting Irontomb next patch crashed into me like a fucking freight train.

playable cyrene redesign!! i think her true form is still very pretty but now that i’ve had some time to collect myself after the initial hype there are some changes just would make… namely i noticed the absence of the purple straps that were on her sleeves, which is a little sad since they’re one of my fav parts of little cyrene’s design. nonetheless i’m prepared to e6 her either way 🫡
