Saw a post with the line "suffering from BD and ED," and until now idk what else ED could mean, aside from erectile dysfunction. The context clues provided in the entire sentence don't seem to be connected to ED though.
In other news (in my life), I've become bored and tired of job hunting. Many of the other things I used to do have also become... pointless. Now, I'm on foodpanda looking for shops near our place but I never really buy anything either. The price difference when you buy in-store and through the app is sky-high. I'm too lazy to spend money.
I've also become tired of reaching out to friends. Friend 1 from college recently became active in chatting again probably because of her upcoming birthday. But after a few more exchanges of words, I've found the conversation to be dull and without substance. It's tiring.
Friend 2 has really disconnected because of a newfound relationship. Turning off the notifications on messaging apps have brought me peace.
Friend 3 is busy with residency and "reads" my messages but doesn't really reply. I get it, you're busy, but I didn't send those things as an FYI. It's been a month, you know.
Anyway, people have their own lives and the only ones I get along with are some workmates. Recently, the conversation has steered towards non-work-related matters like books and exercise. I really feel like I want to go out and run because I just want to.
Maybe get some pasta along the way, too.

Tumblr media
Introduction
In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, food delivery platforms such as Zomato, Swiggy, Uber Eats, and others play a crucial role in connecting consumers with their favorite restaurants. For businesses, developers, and data enthusiasts, scraping data from these platforms can unlock valuable insights into market trends, customer preferences, and restaurant performance. This blog will explore how to scrape food delivery platforms effectively, focusing on the tools and techniques necessary for success.
Why Scrape Food Delivery Data?
Web scraping food delivery data from platforms like Zomato, Swiggy, Uber Eats, FoodPanda, Grubhub, and many more will help the businesses stay updated with critical insights that would help them improve their operations and competitive positioning in this fast-changing food service industry. Here are a number of compelling reasons for undertaking this data scraping initiative.
Market Insights: By gathering data from these platforms, businesses can analyze trends in customer preferences, popular cuisines, and peak ordering times. Understanding what menu items are trending can help restaurants adapt their offerings to meet consumer demand, thereby increasing sales.
Competitive Analysis: Scraping data from food delivery platforms allows businesses to monitor competitor pricing, promotional offers, and customer reviews. This information is vital for making informed decisions about menu pricing, marketing strategies, and customer engagement. For instance, knowing how competitors like Domino's Pizza or DoorDash are performing can inform your business strategy and help you identify areas for improvement.
Operational Efficiency: Access to real-time data on delivery times, customer feedback, and order volumes enables restaurants to optimize their operations. For example, analyzing data from Deliveroo can help a restaurant adjust staffing levels during peak hours, improving service quality and customer satisfaction.
Targeted Marketing: Data scraping can facilitate targeted marketing campaigns. By understanding demographic data and ordering habits, restaurants can tailor their marketing efforts to specific customer segments, increasing the effectiveness of promotions and driving sales.
Inventory Management: Finally, data collected from food delivery platforms can assist in better inventory management. By tracking popular items and their sales velocity, restaurants can reduce waste and optimize stock levels, leading to improved profitability.
Web scraping food delivery app helps businesses extract data from various platforms like Zomato, Swiggy, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Postmates and many others, providing rich insights to support informed, data-driven decisions for better performance and growth.

Thailand Foodservice Market: Trends, Opportunities, and Future Outlook
The foodservice market in Thailand is a dynamic and rapidly growing sector, driven by evolving consumer preferences, increasing tourism, and rising disposable incomes. This article delves into the current landscape, key trends, challenges, and future opportunities in the Thai foodservice market.
1. Overview of the Thailand Foodservice Market
Thailand’s foodservice market is one of the most vibrant in Southeast Asia, with a diverse range of players, from street food vendors to high-end restaurants and international franchises. The market is fueled by the country's rich culinary heritage, a growing middle class, and the increasing influence of Western and Asian cuisines.
The foodservice sector in Thailand is segmented into:
Full-Service Restaurants (FSR): Including fine dining, casual dining, and family-style restaurants.
Quick Service Restaurants (QSR): Fast food chains, food stalls, and kiosks.
Cafés and Bars: Coffee shops, tea houses, and pubs.
Street Food and Hawker Centers: A significant part of Thailand's food culture, offering affordable and authentic local dishes.
Institutional Catering: Services for schools, hospitals, and corporate offices.
2. Key Trends in the Thailand Foodservice Market
a. Growing Demand for Healthy and Organic Options
As health consciousness rises among Thai consumers, there is a growing demand for healthier food options, including organic, plant-based, and low-calorie meals. Many restaurants and foodservice providers are adapting their menus to include vegan and vegetarian dishes, as well as gluten-free and low-sugar alternatives.
b. Digital Transformation and Food Delivery Services
The digitalization of foodservices, including the rise of food delivery apps like GrabFood, Foodpanda, and Lineman, has revolutionized how consumers access food. Online ordering and delivery have become standard, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated the shift towards contactless dining options.
c. Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Practices
Sustainability is becoming a key focus for the foodservice industry in Thailand. Restaurants and foodservice operators are adopting eco-friendly practices, such as reducing plastic usage, sourcing locally, and minimizing food waste. This trend is driven by both regulatory pressures and changing consumer expectations.
d. Rise of Fusion and Experiential Dining
Fusion cuisine, combining Thai flavors with international culinary influences, is gaining popularity, especially in urban centers like Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Experiential dining, where the ambiance and presentation are as important as the food itself, is also on the rise, attracting food enthusiasts looking for unique and Instagrammable experiences.
3. Challenges in the Thailand Foodservice Market
Despite its growth, the foodservice market in Thailand faces several challenges:
a. Labor Shortages and High Turnover Rates
The industry is grappling with a shortage of skilled labor, particularly chefs and service staff. High turnover rates, partly due to the demanding nature of the job, further exacerbate this issue, making it difficult for foodservice operators to maintain consistent service quality.
b. Rising Operational Costs
Increasing costs for ingredients, utilities, and rents are putting pressure on profit margins. The fluctuating prices of imported goods, driven by global supply chain disruptions, add another layer of complexity for operators relying on foreign ingredients.
c. Intense Competition
With the influx of international food chains and a growing number of local players, the market is highly competitive. Foodservice operators need to continuously innovate and differentiate themselves to capture and retain customers.
4. Future Opportunities in the Thailand Foodservice Market
a. Expansion of Cloud Kitchens
Cloud kitchens, or virtual kitchens that operate exclusively for delivery, are gaining traction as they offer a cost-effective way to reach customers without the overhead costs associated with traditional brick-and-mortar establishments. This model is particularly appealing for startups and small businesses looking to enter the market.
b. Growth of Local and Authentic Thai Brands
There is an increasing appreciation for authentic and locally-owned foodservice brands. As consumers seek genuine dining experiences, there is ample opportunity for local businesses to capitalize on this trend by highlighting their unique heritage and traditional recipes.

Imagine an app that works like Grab or Foodpanda, but for finding skilled professionals—plumbers, electricians, contractors, and more. In a few taps, you can compare, review, and book reliable experts for any home project. Convenience, trust, and quality, all in one app! 🚀 #OnDemandServices #HomeSolutions #Technopreneurship #SkillSync
During the interview, it became evident that the app concept has significant potential. The idea of a platform, similar to Grab or Foodpanda, but specifically for finding skilled professionals like plumbers, electricians, and contractors, seems like a practical solution for modern-day needs. The interviewee emphasized the importance of convenience, reliability, and trust, which this app aims to provide. By streamlining the process of searching for and booking home service experts, the app would address a real market gap, making it easier for users to find trusted professionals with ease and confidence. Conversations That Matter: Exploring the Heartbeat of Your Users - A Journey into Customer Validation Interviews
Tumblr media
Following the nod from our instructor after a successful pitch for our app, WeFetch, and the anticipation building up for our final midterms presentation, our team eagerly dived into the heart of our user community. We split into pairs, just like we did before, aiming for a more intimate connection with our potential customers scattered around the Central Mindanao University (CMU) campus.
Tumblr media
Wandering through the grounds, we were fortunate to engage in candid conversations with various individuals, each sharing their unique insights on WeFetch. Our app, inspired by the likes of Angkas and FoodPanda, aims to go beyond conventional boundaries, offering an array of services such as transportation, food delivery, and even the option to send personalized items to someone special. The richness of our interviews went beyond a mere exchange of opinions; it delved into the potential impact of WeFetch on people's lives. The heartening feedback we received during these conversations echoed the sentiment that WeFetch isn't just about services; it's about creating opportunities. Whether you're a student looking for a part-time gig or someone seeking full-time employment, WeFetch opens its doors, provided you have a driver's license and get the green light from our system.
Tumblr media
Amidst the positive vibes, we also encountered valuable suggestions, particularly around the user interface. Some shared concerns about the potential learning curve, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that WeFetch is effortlessly navigable for everyone. This feedback resonated with us, underlining the need to make our app not just innovative but also inclusive.
One standout theme that emerged was the impact WeFetch could have on student life. The convenience it offers, especially for those with dorms situated far from the campus or those attending night classes, struck a chord. Beyond being a job provider, WeFetch became a beacon of safety, ensuring that students could book a ride or service anytime, anywhere within Central Mindanao University.
These conversations weren't just about data collection; they were about building connections, understanding stories, and weaving the human experience into the fabric of WeFetch. As we gear up for our final pitch, these encounters continue to guide us, making WeFetch not just a technological solution but a human-centric one.
