ahem. wrote you a goodbye note (you just wrote me off) on your arm when you passed out. bestfriends, ex friends- better off as lovers not the other way around. racing through the city in the back of yellow checkered cars. the takeoffs are the worst but the skin from your shoulder to your ear makes it all worth it. and i'm sorry the way my moods flicker on and off like an old light on your porch, but i know you wouldn’t have it any other way. sneaking in your window instead of out. the way you hold a cigarette cause you don’t know what to do with your hands when we are sitting this close. the way the waists of pants feel better at the ankles. the way you always were my best excuse for calling in sick on everyone else.

I think one of the best parts of Fangs of Fortune was the costumes. I struggled through the weird plastic headpieces in LBFAD but every single outfit in FofF was a banger. Demons and humans had different styles (pom poms, anyone?), characters were identifiable by outfit despite having large wardrobes, and the clothes looked amazing. They looked expensive and genuine. Like look at the shiny bits while ZYC runs, isn't that awesome?

And this scene! this is a winter cloak, it has weight, AS IT SHOULD, it's real

I'm convinced that actors act better in better costumes too. How can you not feel fancy when you're in head-to-toe magnificent embroidery?

All I got for you this week are some website updates.

First: kcgportfolio.site is my new professional-ish portfolio site with updated links to old work and emails for business reasons (or fan reasons, you can always email me). There is not much new listed there or too different from the old site, but it looks neater!

And speaking of that old site, kcgreendotcom.com will be changed into a dumping blog/webcomic site to post my work on for archival purposes. Any comic, poem, etc I do any more will just be posted here to for posterity (will include "Me & You" updates as well). The change will come in the coming couple of months!

AND ONE MORE THING, that's actually two more things: I've brought the archives of "God's Hands" and "F-Off™" (my two single panel/gag-based comics) on my own hosting and off of webtoons. Why? Well, cus I could! So I did. You can read them all here:

I’m back (foff is an inspiration as always) to talk about Palestine and Zionism. Because let’s be real I never stayed about shipping and fandom on here anyways

also idk how the ziobots are on tumblr but on Twitter they’re an unabashed nightmare so maybe it’s easier to have these discussions here

Anyways I was kind of passively a Zionist until 10/7 and now I’m fervently and devotedly anti-Zionist and seeing as there’s a genocide being perpetrated by America and Israel going on right now, it’s kind of all I’m thinking about and researching. And I want to talk about what I’ve read, and seen, and heard, and how I got here. Why I think we all need to get here, as quickly as possible.

Every point everyone had ever made about 9/11 having staggering consequences on our world has come home to roost. My own family is spouting rhetoric that is more dehumanizing than I thought them capable of. Reading the stages of genocide makes my stomach turn over with recognition. My gore trauma response, paralyzing for the entire fall of last year every time I opened my phone, is now blunted to all but numbness.

I saw the inside of a child’s skull on my phone screen this morning. A father, pinned down, eyes wild, screaming and screaming and screaming and screaming for his children.

I hope someday soon I’ll have it in me to talk about fandom again. But for the moment, I want to talk about Palestine.

Ok I think the whole “James financially supported Remus during the war” idea is actually fanon. I was reading @hollowed-theory-hall’s post on Sirius, James, and Lily during the first war and they pointed out that Remus is not mentioned as being supported by James financially. This quote from JKR was used:

Q: Harry often wondered about his parents lives before he died. What did Lily, James, Remus, Lupin and Sirius do after Hogwarts?

JKR: To take Remus first, Remus was unemployable. Poor Lupin, prior to Dumbledore taking him in, lead a really impoverished life because no one wanted to employ a werewolf. The other three were full-time members of the Order of the Phoenix. If you remember when Lily, James and co. were at school, the first war was raging. It never reached the heights that the second war reached, because the Ministry was never infiltrated to that extend but it was a very bad time, the same disappearances, the same deaths. So that’s what they did, they left school. James has gold, enough to support Sirius and Lily. So I suppose they lived foff a private income. But they were full-time fighters, that’s what they did, until Lily fell pregnant with Harry. So then they went into hiding.

And they are absolutely correct if we’re going off of this quote, there is no mention of Lupin receiving money from James, in fact he is the only one of the three that is not receiving money from James.

So I was wondering where this fanon idea of Lupin having financial support even came from. I tried to find a quote to confirm this idea but came up with nothing. But then I looked on the Harry Potter wiki and they were also using this fanon as fact in Lupin’s bio:

“Remus failed to find employment following his education because of his affliction as a werewolf. However, James used his wealth to financially support him.”

But interestingly, the source of that statement comes from here:

“Information on the original Order members was also revealed during tonight’s event. Jo related the fact that Remus Lupin, prior to the third book, was unemployable because he was a werewolf and upon his graduation from Hogwarts along with James and Lily, was supported by James using their own money. In addition to this she shed more light on the early days of the Order, saying James, Sirius, Remus and Lily were full time Order members. “Full Time Fighters,” as Jo put it.”

Which is just a summary of the the first quote I mentioned, however in the first quote it never says that James supported Lupin. So I think this is something that has been miscommunicated and now is just a popular belief, but there’s no actual evidence to support this claim.
