hhnrg fnaf has been eating my thoughts and an AU occurred. im tentatively calling it a "gods and monsters" au but there's a lot more going on than that. It is partly inspired by @tzitzimitl-eztli 's "the lost child" story, where glamfred is a real bear that gregory meets in the woods, but this new au takes place in a different time and setting.

I've done a lot of worldbuilding for this, and i think the concepts are really interesting, so please read this document i made for it! it goes into more detail than i can here. fair warning though it is kind of long; also, it's a pdf :)

I was going to do this at some point but others also wanted it... so! CatNap time! This is my version like with DogDay, so maybe read that one first to understand my AU? Pure brainrot, barely proofread, there may be mistakes.

Pairing: Platonic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Stalking, Possessive behavior, Violence, Overprotective behavior, Drugging/Gassing, CatNap watches you sleep, Manipulation, Slight sadism, Blood, Implied murder, Slight gore, Forced companionship.

I'm just going to say this, the first thing I read about CatNap is he likes watching his friends sleep.

So that's how this starts.

As usual, CatNap has a cartoon/plush form and a monster form in my AU.

I talk a bit more about this in the DogDay concept.

CatNap, in his more innocent plush form, is docile, gentle, bashful, and highly impressionable according to the wiki.

CatNap can have an eerie presence but he is usually very calming.

He prioritizes proper rest, especially towards you.

When left all alone in Playcare, he becomes a hunting beast who worships The Prototype.

He's not Theo in this version, he's his own thing.

He's sadistic and enjoys the hunt in his more beastly form.

However... he isn't heartless... as in this concept he cares for you a lot.

Let's use this concept just to discuss his overall behavior like I did in the last one.

CatNap's plush/cartoon form still manages to get up to just about the waist of an adult on two legs.

Although the cat also likes to roam on four legs.

CatNap has a lavender smell in his fur, a scent known to calm and put others to sleep.

Although... that isn't exactly what he uses to put you to sleep.

Like in canon, CatNap has the ability to release Poppy Gas from his lungs.

Said gas creates hallucinations and even puts the target asleep.

CatNap likes it when his best friend sleeps....

So, the purple cat often likes to crawl on your lap, release some of the gas, and puts you to sleep as he nuzzles into you with a purr.

Yes, I feel I want to make CatNap purr in my version.

CatNap likes to wrap his long tail around you and follows you around loyally.

He wants to make you happy, healthy, and full of energy!

The only way to do that is a good night's sleep, right?

So let him help you.

CatNap definitely also uses his lavender scent to calm you, too.

He just wants his friend to hold him and sleep...

He'll watch over you like a good friend should.

Then there's the monster form.

He's still very dedicated to you, even when he roams the area like a stalking cat.

CatNap watches over you like a hawk, a caretaker at heart.

In his larger form he looks more unnerving, crawling on all fours like huge hunting cat.

He carefully stalks prey (and you) in the shadows, disorienting them with Poppy Gas before striking.

Unlike DogDay he doesn't bother hiding his predatory nature.

He doesn't care if blood or bits of flesh stain his purple fur when he eats.

His lavender scent still lingers despite the dirty blood smell when he's near you.

The large cat often tries to curl around you in his larger form, purring softly as he encourages you to sleep.

If you try to leave his long tail prevents it... he'll even give you Poppy Gas if you still struggle.

If you think about it... CatNap would be very similar to Moon from FNAF... except CatNap is more... religious?

Speaking of that, CatNap may view you as a gift from The Prototype.

His god has rewarded him for his loyalty!

He'll cherish you as his Best Friend....

CatNap would not hurt you as he views you as his gift and Best Friend.

He often swaps between his smaller cartoon/plush form and his monster form.

If he isn't on a hunt and doesn't want to scare you... he'll swap to his more docile form and encourage you to hold him.

Admittedly... his purr and lavender scent is enough to make you want to sleep anyways.

CatNap is mostly sadistic towards others, like DogDay and the other Critters if they were still alive somehow.

CatNap is possessive of his newfound pal.

He growls and hisses when you try to leave or if you mention any other Toy Mascot.

Even if you did escape, CatNap is hot on your tail, stalking you from the shadows.

Next thing you know the room you're in fills with red mist... you start to hallucinate... the last thing you see before you collapse is the monstrous form of a predatory cat.

Then you wake up back where you once were... with a purple plush cat wrapped in your arms purring away.

It looks like you aren't leaving the claws of CatNap after all....

as you walk to the place you'll be staying for the (sadly) entirety of this year, you happen to learn the names of these "demons" (demons in quotes because they definitely do not look the part).

the one to approach you and weirdly ask you if you have any, what was it, grin? grim? anyways, after he explains that grim is the currency of the devildom/hell, he introduces himself as mammon, the second-born brother and avatar of greed.

your new ally (and now sugar baby) mammon then introduces you to his brothers, starting with the stern-faced lucifer. the eldest and most powerful of the brothers, who he seems to be scared of.

then, moving down the list, is leviathan, or levi for short. the third-born and anime-obsessed brother who stays in his room most days. or as that translates to you, "the degenerate incel who drinks monsters all day and plays fortnite 24/7".

next is satan, the fourth-born who takes after lucifer the most even if he hates to admit it. mammon says he is basically the youngest and is lucifers son. weird.

fourth down, or fifth-born is the self-obsorbed asmodeus (asmo deez nuts). mammon says he possesses the sin of lust and is obsessed with looks. good thing he wasn't your first choice for dating.

the sixth-born, beelzebub as he tells you, has the sin of gluttony and is hungry most of the time. poor guy. you'll definitely share some food with him, since demon food portions are way bigger than humans.

and lastly, the seventh-born belphegor, who is noticeably missing. he is an exchange student in the human world as he tells you, and possesses the sin of sloth. he is probably dozing off right now as you speak with mammon!

as soon as you get into the house of.. uh.. lactation?? levitation?? it was house of something, so you'll just call it HOL.

as soon as you step into the HOL, that damned game theory watcher (or leviathan as you know him now) snags you away to his room, earning you both concerned looks.

when you get to his room, he throws you inside and slams the door shut.

before you can even get a singular word out, he beats you to the chase:

it takes you a moment to realize he said "omg are you mc afton from the fnaf games who was ripped apart limb by limb by Funtime Freddy and you now possess him and are now an ally to William Afton aka the antagonist?!?"

you sadly learn that the Aftons do exist here, but instead in a series of games. interesting.

but god the amount of fanfiction about you is probably through the roof.

realizing that you can't lie to this guy, you are forced to say the truth.

you sigh before revealing "yes, I am mc afton, how the fuck did you know? are you a damn game theory watcher or some shit?"

he nods his head furiously.

well fuck he probably knows all about you then, down to the goddamn color of panties you wear.

"u-uhm, y-yeah, once or twice.." he trails off "a day.. " he mutters quietly.

“michael?” you look at him to see if he is paying attention, which he most definitely is. “well, I personally think he’s a mistake. a murderer. I cannot really slander him for murder, as I am one myself, but who kills their own sibling?” he stares intently at you seemingly knowing you have more to say.

“and not only did he bully our 8 year old brother after our sisters disappearance, he bullied me aswell. and the bite. don’t even get me started. what kind of idiotic moron thinks it’s ‘funny’ to put a childs head in the jaws of a metal robot. a really stupid one apparently. because I watched as my little brother died that day right infront of my eyes.” you might be rambling at this point, but you see he’s still listening so you go on.

“people can say it was an accident, but if you put a child’s safety at risk of death, that’s more like murder to me. so I don’t sympathize for him. he deserved to have his organs ripped out. he deserves all the karma that he’s getting. he’s a waste of space that father shouldn’t spend so much time on.” you finally finish after, what, four minutes of talking.

levi stares at you blankly, and this makes you think he’s gonna go demon mode on you because he’s a michael sympathizer.

Robot/MurderDrones AU in which Ortho's creation is the catalyst for STYX to make more androids for commercial and industrial use, and as they gain more intelligence Ortho would like to find a way to free his fellow bots from being pawns to the humans.

Rarepair AU literally put everyone's names in a wheel and just said Yep to every pair, very fun, have not fleshed this out at all lmao

Zombie Apocalypse AU pretty self explanatory except there are shit like blot zombies and varying degrees of those, Cheka grows into quite the little leader, I have not decided whether the ending is "happy" as in everything is resolved, or happy as in it's Actually Happy

Tattoo/Soulmate AU People with magic typically get into tattooing because they have the ability to make soulmate tattoos, but it varies depending on romantic, platonic/queerplatonic, familial feelings or other ones. Trey, Vil and Leona run a shop together, Deuce wants to join, Viz accidentally becomes his adoptive sister it's all fun and relatively low on the angst actually lmao

FNAF AU lmao this one has so much angst but you probably knew that already, inspired more by the pizzaplex/security breach than any other FNAF game, but a lot of the same type of lore

Coraline AU in which Viz gets to be Leona's big (half) sister for once. Falena is the eldest and treated with respect, everyone knows Viz isn't the king's biological daughter but they have to put up with her because the queen does, and Leona was the attempt between the king and queen to fix everything - it didn't work and he feels that. Ends up using an escape to another world to try and avoid that feeling, only to realize something much more sinister on the other side.

Biological Sister AU not super intuitive, seeing as above, Viz is Leona's half sister, but in this au she is also related him, just via the king this time. Don't ask me why I named it this, but it is what it is, she's taken in by the royal family early on and tries to bring it together. Idk it was a fun idea at the time.

Genderbent AU I wanted to explore Vizzie's trauma if she was around a bunch of other girls instead of guys and it goes Poorly but it's fun lmao

DnD AU b/c I've never played DnD and wanted to kinda learn so it's DnD inspired but the rules/roles aren't super strict but the worldbuilding is SO MUCH FUN (there are SO many dynamics all going on at the same time its GREAT)

Medieval Fantasy AU This is moreso my S/O's AU than it is mine but I wanted to talk about it because it also has a lot of fun worldbuilding in it that we did together (like the effects of OB and whatnot in this world)(also heavily inspired by DnD)

Arranged Marriage AU Viz and Riddle both have very overbearing, traditional moms and end up together against each others wills and have to unlearn their distaste for each other before they can start really working together to find ways to make each other happy

Greek God/Epic AU In which Viz takes on the Odyssey with Leona as her guide - he wants to prove himself worthy of the title of a God, and she will do anything to protect her people. It gets Complicated fast. (I actually have art I drew for this au lmao)

Poppy Playtime AU Really fucking depressing tbh, again, upon the perfection of Ortho's robotic aids (he never died, just severely incapacitated), all the other children that were used as test subjects were abandoned as half done projects and experiments that resembled toys

Dance AU I throw a bunch of the characters into dance. Vil, Riddle and Neige are on top but all three of them are having Gender Issues but in Big Denial about it.

Fairy AU My S/O also developed this one initially but I have a few different headcanons from them :D

Petsitter AU Cater is more of the focus in this one, he's recently left home, in between jobs and down on his luck and ends up calling in an old favour. He stays with Trey (and Che'nya) in their apartment and gets to know the people in the complex as he starts to heal <3
