What's your definition of a talented photographer? To me it's a "soul and life moments beautician"! So I had to take a bunch of portraits for a new project... I show a selection to my hubby tonight... I'm sitting at the computer, my back turned to him, and all I hear is his very loud silence... Then finally: "yes, this one's better". Better than...? Help! I need some tips on where to get primula auricula, mointain cowslip or bear ears... whatever you want to call these delicate wild beauties. The yellow variety in this photo is litterally everywhere around here in the Jura and the Alps surrounding Geneva. The type if auricula I'm looking for is the coloured ones: brownish reddish. I've seen many of my fellow florifriends showcase them on IG and would live to plant some for next spring! Olympia - Greece, exactly one year ago. I fell in love with the purple cercis canadensis or judas tree right there and then. Theses beauties bloom after all the other trees have greened up already and their delicate flowers, growing directly onto the branches last much longer than many other spring blossoms. I now admire them every day on my ride down to the atelier wondering if I should plant one in the garden but they tend to get quite big... what do you think? To plant or not to plant? Every time I look at this photo, I see lily of the valley. It really is a branch of prunus in bloom! Equally stunning but I do miss this incredible fragrance of convallaria. I'm not sure I can wait until May 1st to get some lily at home... Sweet life with a sweet avalanche rose by @meijerroses! I'm having a very precious time with the family as we just canceled a trip to Cuba at the last minute because of my son being ill. Everybody's doing great though now that we've started the treatment and we're planning some short break getaways in beautiful parts of France instead. Not as exotic but we're going with friends so it sure will be make for great memories and lots of laughs! Look at that smile! After a crazy week that was especially hard on the family, I surprised my youngest and his classmates with a truckload of leftover flowers from a big corporate event (check out my stories for more!!!). His fabulous teacher, her wonderful assistant and I improvised a workshop for 6 year-olds. And let me tell you my florifriends, these kiddos are really talented and know how to used their green fingers! I love to see the joy flowers bring to little ones, the smile and pride in their mommies' eyes at pick-up time when everybody left with their bright posy. Sunday Happy Sunday!!! We're on our way to pick up the kiddos at my sister after a super busy week... Thank god for friends and family and their precious help when things get a bit crazy at work. We're thinking about hiring an au-pair next year but I keep on having mixed feelings when I hear friends who've had good and not so good experiences.
