Nora: Look, Ren! They're just like us~!
Vine: What do you mean by that?
Elm: Yeah, what are you going on about?
Ren: I think she's referring to how similar to each other the pairs of us are.
Vine: I don't see much similarity.
Ren: Neither did I at first, but Nora helped me understand.
Elm: Yeah? And what exactly do we have in common?
Nora: Well, first off, we're both partners of boys and girls!
Elm: We're on the same team. We don't use a partner system like you kids at Beacon.
Ren: You're put together based on how cohesive your unit appears, correct?
Elm: Yeah. Somebody else chooses who's put with who.
Ren: And who decides that?
Vine: The base commander at the time. In our case, it was General Steele.
Nora: Yeah, but it means you two were together for a long time, right?
Vine: 10 years of service is hardly a long time.
Elm: Heh... Maybe for you, but I can't remember the last time my bones didn't ache.
Nora: Wow! You two have spent that much time together? You could almost say you grew up together!
Elm: Well, not really grow up, but we have been on the same team since the academy.
Nora: So, you're a duo of a tall, thin boy and a buff, thicc girl who have been together for a long time, and just so happen to be closer to each other than anyone else?
Elm: We're not close.
Ren: You're not?
Elm: No, we're not.
Nora: Are you suuure~?
Elm: I already said no!
Vine: Calm yourself, Elm. There's no need to get angry at these children.
Ren: That's enough, Nora. They might not realize it yet.
Elm/Nora: Yeah, you're right. Sorry, Vine/Ren.
Elm: !
Vine: !
Nora: (Cheeky grin)
Ren: (Wiseass smirk)
Vine: ...I believe this conversation is doing more harm than good.
Elm: Yeah. I'm not gonna play around with you kids and your crazy ideas right now.
Nora: Okay~! Later~! (Leaves)
Ren: Until then. (Leaves)
Elm: Can you believe those two? Psh... Kids these days...
Vine: They're young. It's no different from how we were at their age.
Elm: Except we weren't butting into other people's business?
Vine: Really? I must have imagined your embarrassment at attempting to play matchmaker with Specialist Ebi and Bree.
Elm: (Flushes) Could you not bring that up so loud?
Vine: Of course. I wouldn't want to agitate you worse than your "aching bones".
Elm: Gee, thanks for bringing that up, too...
Vine: If you'd like, I can provide some assistance. I'm trained in massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic adjustment.
Elm: You sure? I've got a lot for you to work with.
Vine: I assure you, what you have is nothing I cannot handle.
Elm: (Smiles)
Vine: (Smiles)
Elm: ...M-Maybe those two were onto something.

The Founder’s Call— Part 3
The battle begins!
Notes: In the games, Zelda’s abilities usually aren’t defined in as much detail as Link’s (for obvious reasons). Some Zeldas also display way more of their skills than others.
So I’ve put some thought into simple rules to help flesh out the details and fill in gaps. For example, the general rule for equipment is: a Zelda has access to items that a) they canonically owned in-game, b) their Link has duplicates of and would lend to their Zelda, or c) they have a clear motive for acquiring in their era. Check out the intro story in the masterpost for more details if you’re curious.
Other rules/patterns will be clarified as the story continues :)

Ok, I recently wrote an essay [here] talking about the definition and duties of civil engineering as well as the ethics because of the brain rot @swordfright gave me with calling Dream Sam’s ultimate engineering project. So, because I actually am a civil engineer I took it upon myself to design the title and summary of quantities sheets just like I do at work for roads but with Dream as the project instead. And in honor of angst day sponsored by @sixteenth-day-event, I figured I’d share it because I feel like it kinda works for the prison of the mind prompt.
“Sam’s “ultimate engineering project” he deemed too damaged like a bumpy road or crumbling building that wasn’t worthy of patching and filling in the cracks or reinforcing, that’s too eroded to be fixed and preserved. So, Sam strived to tear him down to the bedrock so he could remake, remold, and reengineer Dream according to his design for the common safety, public health and well-fair.”
{These are very similar to the actual sheets I make day to day, which I shall not share for the sake of doxing my location, but yea pretty much everything has a significance. Some of it doesn’t necessarily make sense but that was because I was more so taking inventory of what we see in lore (so you know I counted ;) lol)}

Lady Reinhold and the Maw of the Arcanum
my contribution to the Professor Layton Big Bang 2024 for the wonderful, haunting and fascinating story by Melc @melcobelc ! Please give it a read, it's super intriguing and this was lots of fun to make 💕
Summary:
"This is what I now need to request of you, my dear daughter, and I hope that you can forgive me for it."
A letter, 13 years after her mothers death, leads Flora to the small, tranquil seaside village of Aenigmouth. Despite the overwhelmingly welcoming behaviour shown to her by the locals, the girl cannot shake the feeling that something isn’t right.
What is it that Aenigmouth seems to be hiding?
What is it the puzzles of this village seem to be guiding her towards?
What had been her mothers intention in sending her here?

The Founder’s Call — Part 5
Tetra, Sun, and Lullaby pull off a combo move. Dusk gets a well-deserved hug :).
Notes:
We’ve finally seen all three of Din’s Fire, Nayru’s Love, and Farore’s Wind in action!
Though originally from Ocarina of Time, these skills are part of certain Zeldas’ arsenals in Wisdomverse due to their appearance in another rather well-known game series that I am also particularly fond of :). Special art and detailed discussion here!
