More of my Scooby-Doo anime headcanon, featuring Flim Flam.
Flim Flam is the adopted son of Professor Vincent Van Ghoul, the man who invented Mecha-Scooby. He serves as a mechanic to the gang and helps with repairing Mecha-Scooby.
Enjoy!

I’ve always thought about creating my own version of scooby doo and after the Velma series happened I decided I would make up my own adult mystery inc series that wasn’t terrible
I’ve been messing around with picrews and thought I’d make some of the characters
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Featuring the already vaguely canon Metalhead Shaggy, Goth Velma, Influencer Daphne, and Autistic Fred (and Mr Trapples)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also featuring the return of some lesser known characters, including Velmas “rival” (crush) Marcie Fleach, Shaggys girlfriend Googie, juvenile delinquent Flim Flam, and the great Vincent Van Ghoul

okay random headcanon:
Mortifier was a con man, using stage magic to get away with his tricks. After Vincent loses him he becomes a bit of a recluse, and goes searching for the chest once he loses it but then along his travels he finds a child with a mischievous smile, some quick words who tries to con him out of some measly pocket change.
And for a minute Vincent doesn't see Flim Flam he sees Mortifier, the friend he lost.

Headcanon that it wasn't just dumb luck that Shaggy, Daphne, and the Doos ended up in the Himalayas.
It's never dumb luck that they stumble upon a mystery. There are forces in the universe that know that they are the ones who can fix very specific problems. They are innately drawn to ghosts and ghouls, and though locked away, the power of 13 of the most powerful demons had to have beckoned them, though they didn't know it.
They had probably blipped on Vincent's crystal ball for causing disturbances in the supernatural world for years. He had to be vaguely aware of them. But when he saw them, he knew that he had to act quickly. There was another like them, one who needed them.
Flimflam was orphaned in a town of werewolves who hated him. Vincent had taken him in, but Vincent was not very paternal, nor patient. Nor was he mortal. This boy needed to be raised in a world of mortals, by mortals.
And these mortals, whose fate was so entwined in the bizarre, were the perfect fit to deal with the specific challenges of raising a child like Flimflam.
And then the Demon Chest was opened and Vincent got to see first hand what a great match they all were. He was rarely wrong, afterall.

While everyone is sharing their Scooby-Doo pitches:
Mine would be three parts: Origin, Division, and Journey
Part 1 would be set in Coolsville. The gang would not have met yet and be in high school. The inciting incident is Shaggy sees. A monster. He goes to Velma because he thinks she is emo and knows about the occult. She tells him she's not emo, emos aren't the occult ones, and monsters aren't real, but does wind up helping him investigate. Fred is new in town, having moved in from the West Coast town of Crystal Cove, and is smitten with Daphne, who is already like halfway into investigating a secret society. Episode one ends with Shaggy telling from what the monster he saw was:
"It was, like, a talking dog, man!"
This part would involve a mysterious bank robbery, a mansion where any door can lead to any other, and Flim-Flam, Vincent Van Ghoul and Scrappy being the secret society who guards the Chest of Demons, which only Doos can use to seal demons in and a "13th demon, the one who escaped". It ends when the demon turns out to be a fake that Flim-Flam and Vincent were using to convince Scooby to help guard the chest, leaving the gang divided on if the chest is real, or actually just where the bank money is hidden.
Part 2 would be Shaggy, Daphne, Scrappy, and Scooby on the run with the chest, while Fred calls in a friend from Crystal Cove to help track them down: Marcie Fleach. They are bank rolled by Deacon Carswell, who wants the chest back desperately. This part would end with the gang deciding they have to be on the same side, and to do that they need to know what the chest is. They open it, releasing the demons.
Part 3 would be close to the classic formula. The gang has to go hunt down the demons, and so goes to anywhere in America where supernatural events are being claimed to happen. Sometimes it's a hoax, sometimes it's a demon, sometimes it's an unrelated source of magic. This one would introduce the Hex Girls and bring back Thorn's magic powers. In the end, Deacon Carswell is revealef to be the real 13th Demon, the Creeping One, and the gang have to defeat him in the aforementioned mansion with weird doors.

ok, been thinking about Vincent Van Ghoul (as one does) and been thinking about how Mystery Inc. absolutely BUTCHERED his character. This man was not mysterious, serious or magical. He was just dramatic and annoying. And yes, Vincent is dramatic, but mysterious dramatic, not annoying dramatic. But, anyways.
I just don't like one of my favourite characters being done dirty like that so we're back with rewriting media I don't like :).
So my thoughts were along the lines of his horror movie stuff has something to do with Nekara, and some of the other demons. Maybe he was trying to stop her and one thing led to another and boom, now you're an actor and Vincent doesn't know how he got here, but being rich and famous is actually a somewhat good position to be in when you're looking for really obscure stuff. It's also good protection against some of the demons who don't want to be found. Then the essay contest.
What if Vincent was getting bored of waiting and decided to bring the demons to his front door? What if the essay contest was just him saying "yes, an evening with me - totally alone in my remote mansion where the power and security cameras fail regularly. And I would never bring weapons magic or otherwise to such a gathering of course not. Just me. Alone. In my mansion. Totally defenceless. If any demons - cough, cough - I mean fans want to hang out"
He doesn't expect anyone to actually write in. And if they do he'll just move the date inconspicuously. But apparently his producer didn't get the memo because now there are two teenagers and a dog outside his house when he's expecting thirteen of the most horrifying demons to ever walk the mortal plane to show up.
Long story short, the kids end up saving him and put one of the demons back in the chest. They decide to help him with the other 12, but not tell Velma and Fred just yet bc they want to break the whole thing to them gently.
This would obviously change how the series goes, hopefully for the better - with Vincent acting as the kids' desperately needed responsible adult.

Vincent: Daphne... How do I begin to explain Daphne?
Shaggy: Daphne is flawless.
Scooby: I hear their hair's insured for $10,000.
Flim Flam: I hear they do car commercials... in Japan.
Scrappy: One time they punched me in the face... it was awesome.
