Hello. Hi! Yes, I am still alive. 🌟 Its been over a month since I posted anything.
The USA has been in an uproar, I’m sure you’ve noticed. It felt rather shallow to be posting for self promotion when there has been so many more important issues people need to be paying attention to and other voices that need to be heard..
That was only part of why I have been so silent on here for so long. I’m heartbroken to say my cherished little cat, Lucky Star, became very ill and had to be put to rest on June 12th. Many of you may have seen some of my stories about her developing multiple health issues and going blind in previous months. I was fighting hard to help her get well but she was a very old lady at 18 yrs old and every time we got one issue under control another emerged. 😔 She became very weak and sickly and was in too much distress to keep fighting. I miss her everyday- she was the most loving little angel and a big comfort to my anxiety issues. My therapy pet. Saying goodbye to her while simultaneously having crippling anxiety over current events gave me a bad case of the BIG SAD💔😿 which is the cute way of saying too depressed to function. I’ve been having extra therapist appointments, meditating and taking herbal antidepressant supplements daily and I’m starting to get back on track. 🌿🌼 Today I got back into the workshop to clean up the mess I left in there and start finishing up projects I left incomplete. I’m excited to show you my first ever hair accessory… This cute little mossy mushroom hair pin! 🍄🖤 I’ll be working on some more of these for the shop very soon and trying to post regularly again. I hope your all doing well and glad that I’m back in your newsfeed. 🤗

“C’mon, Dean,” Charlie wheedled. “It’s one afternoon!”
“Fuck off, Charlie,” Dean said pleasantly, sitting back and pointedly ignoring her pleading eyes.
“Dean –“
“Nope.”
Dean could almost hear her switch tactics, and he braced himself for the onslaught.
“And how many times have I helped get you laid?” she said pointedly.
“Excuse me?” Dean said, finally looking up. “Are we forgetting the time I got Dorothy to be your consort in Moondoor?”
“Okay, and I gave your name to Lisa for her car.”
“Bela.”
“She was nuts, doesn’t count. Aaron.”
“Jo.”
“That off-duty cop who looked like Chris Evans.”
“I –” Dean shut his mouth. “Okay, we’re even. Still not going to a fuckin’ glass-blowing workshop, Charles. Why can’t you ask Sam and Jess or something?”
“Because then I’d be a third wheel, and being pathetic is not gonna get me Gilda’s number.” She sighed, running a hand through her vivid hair. “Look, I know you’re super not into it, but it could be fun!” Dean gave her a look. “And,” she continued hastily, “I’ll pay for your class, and buy you dinner and beer. And I’ll owe you, which you know will come in handy. Please?”
Dean rubbed his eyes, seriously considering turning up some Zeppelin and tuning her out, but he could feel her Sam-level puppydog eyes on him, and he relented.
“Fine. One time. Then you’re on your own there, Sappho.”
Charlie threw her arms around him, leaning across the couch to drop a loud, smacking kiss to his temple. “Have I ever told you you’re the best handmaiden?”
“Oh my God,” Dean grumbled, shoving her off and rubbing at his face, but she was already turning to her ever-present laptop, typing away with a considering look on her face.
“There’s a class on marbles,” she said doubtfully. “That could be…”
“Incredibly lame?” Dean supplied.
“Kind of,” Charlie conceded. “Ooh, oil lamps! Shit, no, Gilda doesn’t even teach that one. Strike-out.” Dean just shook his head, tuning her out as he flopped on the couch and flipped through the channels.
“Ooh, Beginner’s Guide to Flameworking,” she mused. “C’mon, that sounds kind of badass.”
“What is it?” Dean asked, curious despite himself.
“No idea! But…” Her fingers danced over the keys for a moment. “It is,” she announced dramatically, “…a type of glasswork where a torch or lamp is primarily used the glass.”
“Thanks, Wikipedia.” He turned back to the TV.
“No, this sounds cool, actually,” Charlie said as she scanned the article. “From the fifth century BC – oh wow, it’s still practiced on an island in Venice.”
“You can take Gilda there on your honeymoon,” Dean informed her, then paused. “So, like… what can you make?”
“Uh… well, marbles, for one,” she admitted. “But also beads and ornaments!”
“You really know how to sell an idea, Charlie.”
She ignored him. “Huh. Guess it can be used to make scientific instruments, that’s kind of neat. And models, and just… art.”
“Oh good,” Dean sighed. “Don’t think my hands are capable of working on anything more artistic than a carburetor.”
Charlie finally looked up at him. “So you don’t think Baby’s a work of art?”
“I – well, yeah, of course she is, but –”
“I rest my case,” Charlie said airily, turning back to her laptop, and Dean let his head fall back to the couch with a thunk.

Look who’s finally back in the workshop!! Its been over a month since my mom had her hip replacement surgery and I had to take time off to help her and my grandma during her recovery. I’m very happy to report that she has healed up well, is back on her feet and able to return to normal activity and caring for grandma. I’m glad to have been able to be there to support them but I’ve been itching to get back to work too! A whole month without touching my torch or working on any creative projects felt like an eternity but I’m stoked to be back at it starting this weekend! Stay tuned- I’ll be posting new work regularly again and am already working on a Pre-Valentines Day shop update! 💞💫 . . . #backtowork #workshopselfie #girlswhoblowglass #flameworker #naturebonestudio #shopupdatesoon #artistoninstagram #glassartist #jewelrydesigner https://www.instagram.com/p/B7y2g8eHBFs/?igshid=brjg3fld9cfb

inspirational book for people who work with "hard" glass I'm a borosilicate crystal glass artist with a Carlisle cc which is a really big torch. I'm really enjoying it. If you're a bead maker or soft glass person then this book is not for you but may be interesting if you are trying to figure out how to make glass art with a torch that is much larger than beads . Overall I love thebook. I've been working with boro full time for twenty years and I did find inspiration . The pictures are color and beautiful . I would consider it a "how to" book. Really neat and it is one of the few books that exist for us that work with boro or "hard" glass! Go to Amazon
Finally! A great primer on the basics of Boro sculptural glass! This is a book for the midlevel or advanced student who is experienced enough in the art of lampwork glass bead making to realize that they can never compete with the millions of Asian beads which flood the market, all made by children in slave workshops and imported so the amateur bead stringers can sell them at flea markets and other bricabrac venues. There is not much here about beads, even though it is in the title. The author demonstrates how she makes a few basic beads then thankfully goes back to the main subjects which are the making and development of non-bead sculptural objects. Go to Amazon
I am in Love with This Book The author is really good at providing detailed step-by-step instructions with good pictures so you can see what she's talking about. She lists the tools you will need for each exercise. She builds up slowly, starting with simple exercises (such as leaves and morias), then combining those exercises together to form detailed projects (such as the flower candleholder). Go to Amazon
Excellent book with plenty of projects. Arrived quickly in great condition. This is an excellent book for beginners/intermediate. There are numerous projects at various levels. The photos of the various flameworking/glassblowing steps are very helpful. I would highly recommend this book if you are interested in flameworking. Go to Amazon
An Ok addition to a lampwork library. It's important to note (as several reviewers have) that this is a book on working borosilicate (hard glass) and will be of comparatively little interest in those who work soft glass. I fall into the latter category, but am always looking to expand my skills. I have a pretty somprehensive library of flameworking books, and have to say that this proved to be one of the less useful any way you look at it. It is not as comprehensive as many of the technical books, does not detail as many techniques as most of the soft glass books and guides and has neither the breadth or depth of some of the boro books out there )e.g., Go to Amazon
Five Stars Excellent book for new Boro users Go to Amazon
Five Stars great Go to Amazon
The book has some basic techniques for a very beginner ... The book has some basic techniques for a very beginner but not too much depth. I was looking for tips and techniques to build upon the basics of setting up a studio and working with boro. Go to Amazon
This is an excellent book. It is a valuable addition for artists ... Five Stars It has some good projects to practice with Five Stars Five Stars Five Stars Five Stars
