I wish everyone collectively understood aventurine’s character like you…things would be so much easier! I genuinely don’t understand how people keep getting his motivations wrong??? Could it be because some of the most popular Aven fanfics were written prior to his release? That could have contributed to some of the takes we tend to see about him…thoughts?
I struggled all day to come up with a concise way to answer this and couldn't think of one, so here, have a long-winded ramble:
I don't think early fic writers have much impact in the situation with Aventurine's character now, since most people can look at when a story was posted and go "Oh, this was before we had ____ information."
I think that Aventurine's problem is being a male character in a gacha game. Gacha game characters are designed to sell. Hoyo can sell female characters very, very easily. Give her huge tits and a visible underwear strap and you're good to go. I love all my guy friends, but I'm not gonna sugarcoat it: straight men are not the hardest audience to please. Hit a particular fetish (feet, spandex, dommy mommy), and you're gucci.
Tumblr media
Nah, we all know why Jade's trailer is Like That.™
Male characters in gacha are harder to sell because women as consumers are a little harder to predict. Does every woman want a tall, ripped hunk? Shit, no, small cute boyish models like Aventurine are selling better now? Why?! Would a bad boy be more popular than a nice guy??? It's harder to account for women's tastes, especially because they are often (a little) less visually-oriented.
Hoyo is good at what they do though, and they've figured out that male characters sell very well when they possess at least one of two specific traits:
Endearing vulnerability/helplessness
Gay ship tease
Give a character both, like Aventurine? They might as well be printing money.
Tumblr media
That sound you hear is Hoyo's stock prices rising.
So, from the very beginning, Hoyo is incentivized to create a character that appeals to people, a character people will want to crack their wallets open for. And they achieved this, first and foremost, by giving Aventurine traits that female players (in particular, but men too), find especially appealing: emotional and physical vulnerability.
We see Aventurine's pain. We sympathize with his grief. We identify with his struggle to make meaning of his difficult life. He's our woobie, blorbo, babygirl, whatever the hell they're calling it now.
He can't hide his suffering anymore. He's on the very edge. He's a dude in distress. He's surrounded by enemies! He misses his mama! He's been betrayed! No one understands him like you do, dear player!
The ultimate feeling evoked is: He needs to be saved.
Tumblr media
When people talk about male power fantasies, I think they forget that women can experience them too, and "Emotionally vulnerable man that only I (or my favorite character) can fix" is actually a female power fantasy.
And from there it's really easy, right: the people who shell out cash to buy warps for their harmed-husbando feel like they've saved him; the people who are into mlm ships look for the nearest hot dude to be the savior Ratio was waiting for his time lol.
Morally and intellectually, this type of deep-down-golden-hearted, emotionally-wounded male character is very easy to digest. There is nothing to dislike about this type of character or role in the story: this character is a good guy who has just gone through so many terrible situations, whose victim status makes him endearing, and whose lack of agency means that any of the questionable or downright bad things he does are always the result of someone else forcing his hand, and never something he would have chosen himself.
His motivations are always clear and consistent: get free, heal, and live happily ever after.
Tumblr media
Insert the Wreck-It Ralph meme: "Do people assume all your problems got solved when a big strong man showed up?" But to be fair, a big strong man did kind of solve Aventurine's problem, so--
Anyway, it's simple. It's straightforward. Morally, it's pretty cut and dry, black and white: Aventurine is our hero, which means everyone dictating the course of his miserable life is evil.
Hoyo is not remotely discouraging people from literally buying into this emotional appeal.
And trust me, I get it. I'll be the first to admit that hurt-comfort is its own entire genre in fandom because it is so appealing. People eat up Aventurine's tragic backstory like candy! The idea of watching a character go through hell at the hands of bad guys just to finally find a happy end is like the definition of everyone's favorite story.
In fact... people love Aventurine's suffering so much, they have invented whole new ways for him to suffer that aren't even in the game.
This is where we get all the headcanons that Aventurine was a sex slave, every single person he meets hates him because of his race, the Stonehearts are executioners holding knives to his throat, Jade enslaved him to the IPC with a lifelong contract, his material possessions belong to the company, the IPC is forcing him to take only the most dangerous missions where he is being required by his evil jailers to continually put his life on the line... You name it and I promise you, I can find a fanfic where Aventurine suffers from it. 😂
Tumblr media
Bro can't even sleep in on his day off; life is so hard for this man.
Being serious: if the game is telling us that Aventurine is a victim... Why not make him the perfect victim?
Why not envision an Aventurine with no freedom, who bears no responsibility for any of the horrible situations he is in or any of the dubious things he does?
It's so natural to like that version of Aventurine, so appealing to see a totally powerless underdog use his own wits and charms to claw his way up to freedom. Or, if you're the kind who really relishes angst: It's even appealing to see Aventurine lose more. To delight in fics where he loses his wealth, where the IPC punishes him for past crimes while he's powerless to stop them... (I assure you, this is many people's cup of tea and the fanfics prove it!)
Ultimately, there's nothing wrong with liking characters who are exactly this straightforward! It's completely fine to embrace characters that are intentionally written to be morally above-board, whose primary role in the story is to generate angst by being a good person who suffers, or those characters who never show unlikable traits, bad decisions, or contradictory actions.
The problem is that that's just not who the game is telling us Aventurine is.
Tumblr media
Hoyo may be capitalizing off people who love to envision poor Aventurine still living his life as a slave... But the game also needs to tell a complicated enough story overall to appeal to people who don't care about this specific husbando--Aventurine's role in the actual game's plot has to be interesting enough for almost everyone to appreciate it, not just Aventurine's simp squad. (Don't get mad, I'm in the simp squad with you.)
So his character doesn't stop at just being a pure-hearted victim who is still waiting to be saved.
Aventurine is not that easy to label, and I think the biggest struggle in this character's fandom right now is between people who prefer the even-more-angsty, still-a-slave Aventurine versus people who want a morally grey, self-destructive character instead.
To me personally, while I greatly understand the appeal of fanon!Aventurine and the joy of a really juicy angst fic where characters lose it all, I think that missing out on the depth that canon is suggesting would be a real loss on the fandom's part.
The character motivations that Aventurine shows in the game are complicated. They cancel each other out. They're basically self-harm! He makes almost every situation he's in worse for himself--on purpose.
He is a good person, but also a person who has done unspeakable things. He does have morals, but he's not above allowing those who don't have them to use him to their advantage.
He's both the victim and the victor. He's his own worst enemy. He's a lost little boy who's been making terrible decisions for himself since he was like eight years old, and a grown ass man who is barely managing to fake his way through an existence that destiny is not letting him quit.
Tumblr media
This kind of character is a lot harder to embrace. He's done things that most people would find appalling--like willingly joining up with the organization that let his entire race be massacred. He's invented a whole new peacock persona to frivolously flaunt riches he doesn't even care about (Poison Dart Frog Self-Defense 101). He actively plays into racist stereotypes about his people to manipulate others through their preconceived expectations. He's made a mockery of his mother's and sister's hopes and dreams by endlessly trying to throw his own life away.
He has flaws! He bet everything he had on a ploy without doing his homework to find out if the people he was risking his life for were even still around. (Maybe he already knew, and couldn't bear to admit it, even to himself.) He's intentionally off-putting and obnoxious to everyone he meets (Poison Dart Frog Self-Defense 102). He terrifies everyone who gets close to him by (seemingly) carelessly throwing himself into the jaws of death without the slightest provocation.
He knowingly allows the IPC to exploit his power and talents for profit. Did everyone forget that his role in the Strategic Investment Department is asset liquidation?! Like, his actual day-to-day job is ruining people's lives. Canonically, Aventurine kills people when his deals go bad.
Tumblr media
His motivations change off-screen in two lines of story text. We're told in one line that his biggest reason for joining the IPC was to make money to save the Avgin, then in the next line we find out that's impossible. And... then what? What motivations does he even have now? The whole point of his character arc from 2.0-2.1 is that he was on the edge of giving in to utter despair and nihilism because he couldn't even perceive a single reason to stay alive. He has no purpose in life before Penacony, and that didn't start with the Stonehearts at all??
People keep saying Aventurine was held in the IPC by golden handcuffs, but how do you tie down someone for whom profit is meaningless? What can you offer to a man whose only desire is to bring back something already lost forever? How do you imprison someone whose only definition of freedom is, canonically, death?
Tumblr media
Working for the Stonehearts is obviously not healthy. But that's why Aventurine was doing it--because taking dangerous missions allowed him to put himself at risk. The job that he originally pursued hoping to save his people became a direct means to self-harm, and the IPC's only real role in that was just happily profiting off the results.
The journal entries for Aventurine's quests are there deliberately to tell the player what is on his mind, and none of it has to do with escaping from his job:
Tumblr media
Like... Work is the least of this man's problems.
At really the risk of rambling on too long now, he's also just a massive walking contradiction:
Aventurine is among the most explicitly religious characters in the game, yet he's one of the only people in the entire game that we have ever seen actively question his people's aeon.
You might be tempted to think Aventurine's risky gambles with his life as an adult are a result of giving up after finding out about the Avgin massacre... Butttt no, Hoyo makes sure to tell us that even at knee-high in the Sigonian desert, Kakavasha was already willing to risk himself in a fight to the death against monsters because even back then he found his own life to have less value than a single memento.
He's the "chosen one" who will lead his people to prosperity... except they're all dead.
He's explicitly suicidal... andddd also a pathstrider of Preservation.
He wants to die... He doesn't want to die. He wants to make it end, yet goes to staggering lengths to continually survive. (Every plan risks his life on purpose--but every plan's win condition is also to live.) He life is the chip tossed down, but his hand is trembling beneath the table. When faced with an otherwise unsurvivable situation, Aventurine literally became a winner of the Hunger Games. He beat other innocent people to death with his own chain-bound hands just to come out alive.
Tumblr media
He knows the IPC failed the Avgin and left them to die... and he still willingly sought out a position of power in their organization. Maybe he really is after revenge... but maybe not.
He starts his journey in the IPC with a truly noble goal in mind: to help his people using his newfound wealth and power. He's a good guy who did genuinely want to save the Avgin and repay all those who helped him. But once it became clear he was too late, once it was obvious he would have no use at all for that monetary wealth and power he risked his life to get... What did he do with it? Unlike Jade, we don't see him over here donating to orphanages. (I'm not that heartless; I'm sure he does actually do a lot of good things with his money on the side, but the point is that the game does not show us that--it shows us, over and over again, Aventurine putting on a wasteful, over-indulgent persona toward wealth. We've supposed to feel how meaningless money is to him, how meaningless everything is becoming to him.)
He outright refuses to use underhanded tactics or to cheat at gambles, which is meant to show us that's he's more morally upright than his coworkers. There's an entire exchange where he says that he'll never stoop to using manipulation the way Opal does. But... he doesn't have any issue fulfilling Opal's exact agenda. He was never remotely morally conflicted about denying the Penaconians their freedom by dragging Penacony back under IPC control.
Tumblr media
He's willing to risk his own life, which is one thing--but he's also willing to risk other people's well-being. Topaz accuses him of constantly egging their clients on into dangerous situations; we've actively seen him shove a gun into Ratio's hands and pull the trigger with no care for how Ratio would feel about that on their very first meeting... Dragging the Astral Express crew into the entire Penacony plan in the first place was exceedingly dangerous...
To me, I just think it's vital to understand his character through the lens of these contradictions because they demonstrate the extreme polarity of Aventurine's life: from rags to riches, from powerless to empowered by multiple aeons, from willing to kill to survive to killing himself... He has quite literally lived a life of "all or nothing," and while he is the victim of many terrible situations out of his control, his arc as a character involves facing the truth of himself and the future his own actions are hurtling him toward.
Tumblr media
Frankly, the Aventurine that canon is suggesting is a little annoying. You want to grab him by the shoulders, shake him, and say "Why are you like this?!" And he won't even have an answer for you, because he doesn't even know why he's still alive.
In the end, to me, this is so, so much more interesting. I can read an endless supply of hurt-comfort fics where Aventurine escapes the evil IPC and Ratio is there to fill the void in his life with the power of love and catcakes and be a perfectly happy clam online, but I want canon to continue to serve us this incredible mess of a man who constantly takes one step forward and two steps back.
Who is fully aware of his role as a cog in the grotesque profit-wheel of cosmic capitalism and still manages to say he never changed from the rags-wearing desert rat of the Sigonian wastes.
Who over and over again flirts with nihility but, ultimately, even if he has to wrest it from the grip of the gods themselves with bloody, chain-bound hands, chooses life.

Cock, what is your opinion on those fix-it fics where Abigail lives? I read one where Will confessed to his lie I think during the scene where he gives Hannibal what is implies to be meat from Freddie's remains and, as a result, Hannibal doesn't kill Abigail
When I read Hannibal fanfics I never read fix it fics. Not to say I never would because I’m sure they’re great! I think Abigail’s fate is necessary for the evolution of Hannibal’s character. His regret is so palpable and I truly think that without the conversation between him and Will about his regret in shattering the tea cup (killing Abigail), Will would have a harder time accepting Hannibal. In a fucked up way, their shared pain about losing her brought them closer to each other. No one will understand the loss and paternal ache like Hannibal, and maybe Will can never truly forgive Hannibal but he feels understood. In turn, Hannibal has to accept the consequences for his actions, and admit that yes, Will had changed him.

fix you by coldplay makes me think about ex gf!abby anderson criminally speeding down a highway. it’s raining, it’s freezing, and she shouldn’t be doing this, but she is. you were seconds away from saving what you had with her, but too late, it was over, she didn’t want you. then she went home, approached her door, and she saw you. saw the times she picked you up in her muscular arms, kissed you like you’d fade if she didn’t as she dragged you inside. she saw you on her couch when she got into her living room, sprawled across her lap as you rambled to her. tried to sleep it off in her bed, but she didn’t see you this time, she felt you, cuddled up in her arms as she kissed you to sleep. and then she cried, she bawled, because she had lost you. she had been an idiot, because how could she have let you go? then she left the house, got into her car, and fucking sped. rain falling down all around her, battling to get to you as fast as she could. like someone, someone wiser, who would never let you go, would get to you before she could. and she couldn’t allow it, she wouldn’t. you didn’t open the door at first when you heard her knock. you were numb, exhausted, sick. you couldn’t speak to a soul, not when you were like this. not when you had lost the only person who could make you feel what you did for abby. and who could even be here at this hour? but her knocking is deafening, goddamn incessant, and you can’t ignore it. you get up from bed, walk to the door, and your heart drops. it’s her. and your eyes are red. your heart is frigid, vacant. you can’t feel a thing but the cold, rainy wind on your cheeks as soon as you open the door. and abby’s there. blonde braid soaked, face red. she’s been out here for a while, obviously. but she couldn’t leave, not when you were at stake. “abby?” you’d mumble, and she wouldn’t even answer. she cups your face in her hands, pulls you close, kisses you. and when she pulls back? “baby,” she whispers, and it’s sweet, and it’s endearing, and it’s sorrowful, but it’s home. her kiss says sorry. what she calls you only yells it. and when she pulls you into her arms, embracing you like she’ll never let you go again, because she won’t? she doesn’t need words to explain it. “i promise you i will learn from my mistakes.” because she would never make the same one again.
and just to add in this lyric: “tears stream down your face, when you lose something you cannot replace” abby anderson could never replace what was irreplaceable. you were everything to her. you were perfect. all that she wanted. all that she craved, come hell or high water, no matter what happened. and she’d be damned if she ever let you slip from her fingers again.

Too Hard on Yourself
Tumblr media
Summary: You’re working on an assigned project at Piltover Academy, and while most of the time you pick up new things quickly, this time, you haven’t. You’re frustrated with yourself, crying at your workbench. However, you old friend Jayce Talis is here to make you feel better.
Author’s Notes: Thanks to the anon for submitting this request!! They had asked for ler!Jayce and lee!reader platonically, and I was happy to deliver. This was my first time writing for Jayce, so I hope he doesn’t sound super OOC. :) I locked in so hard writing this one which I’m surprised with, as I’m dead tired from travelling this weekend. I hope you enjoy! If you’d like to see a fic from me, feel free to send in an ask request and I’ll see what I can do!
Words: ~2,000 | AO3 Link
A very long, exhausting day looks like it will end in tears for you as you lay your head straight down on the workbench, droplets escaping from your eyes that you couldn't control.
Why did everything have to be so hard? You were trying your best, but things just weren't going your way lately.
You've been enrolled into the Piltover Academy starting this year. It took everything within your mind and body to pass the exam to even get into it in the first place. You wanted to push yourself to do better, for yourself and for your city. For the most part, you enjoyed being here. The classes, the people, the teachers.
Though, sometimes, information and topics went way over your head, making tasks a lot harder than they should be. Usually, most subjects and instructions just clicked with you - you thought of yourself as a fast and efficient learner. But when you really didn’t get something and tried hard to combat the issue, your failures and lack of understanding really, really upset you. This project you were assigned was one of those difficult times.
Your class was handed blueprints to build this device. From the visual alone, it was quite complex, even for your class to handle. Some people started their tasks effortlessly, some had stayed back to try to get as much of it done before they left for the day to try again tomorrow.
Except for you.
The sun was setting, the orange glow bouncing off the walls and the pieces of machinery some students had left on their work benches. Fragments of light ricocheted off the countless shiny pieces of metal in just the wrong places, blinding you as you raised your head up to wipe at your eyes.
There were a lot of delicate and small parts concerning this device. You didn’t want to break anything accidentally, or screw it up at all. In your mind, everything had to be perfect. If it didn’t turn out perfect, to you it meant that your skills were severely lacking, bringing your self-esteem and self-worth way down.
Your mind was foggy, it was hard to think. Your anxiety was at its peak, you were so frustrated with yourself. Your head felt like it was spinning as it pounded, your eyes hurt from being wide open for so long, and you were so, so tired. Reaching up to your face, you rubbed your eyes, trying to will the tears away so you could attempt to calm down.
However, there was an echo of footsteps coming from the entrance of the room. You quickly attempted to clean yourself up, swiping the tears on your face and whipping your head around to see who it was.
It was Jayce Talis, your long time friend from way back when. Oh no. He was fast approaching with a smile on his face, as usual.
You didn't want him to see you like this. Despite knowing him for so long, you don’t want him to think of you as weak. You snapped your head back around, picking up the blueprints in front of you so that you could maybe use them to hide your face, or make yourself look busy. “Hi, Jayce…” you managed to croak out, trying to not let your emotions spill over.
“Hey, I see you're burning the midnight oil,” he commented, sauntering over to your bench, placing a hand down on the edge as he leaned his weight against it. His head craned over, trying to get a look at your face. “What do the professors have you doing this week?”
“They've just assigned us to build this thing…” you muttered, not engaging much in the conversation. You hoped that maybe if you were stand-offish enough that Jayce might leave, as awful as that sounded.
But Jayce noticed.
You never acted this way around him, you could light up a room with your presence and charm. Jayce knew something was up. “Is everything okay?” He quizzed, concern laced in his voice.
At first, you didn’t know how to respond. You were never one to really open yourself up when you had problems - you absolutely never wanted to bother or worry your loved ones. You wanted to stay silent, but from his question, emotions already started boiling like a pot on a stove inside you. “It’s fine, Jayce, really…” you mumbled, holding the blueprint close to your face, the paper nearly touching your nose. “I just need to brute force through this, I’ll get it eventually…”
He raised an eyebrow in suspicion, not believing your words. Then his expression softened as he saw your face. You were holding back tears, the liquid pooling right along the edges of your eyes. They looked red and puffy, same with your nose, he got the hint that you were probably crying way before he came into the room. He frowned at the sight, shifting his weight so he was now standing up, crossing his arms over his chest.
“There’s something obviously wrong,” he started, placing his hand on the back of your chair. His voice was soft as he spoke. “You can tell me anything… you know that, right?”
That was the moment your tears started to spill, flowing down your cheeks. You dropped the blueprint back onto the table as you buried your head down into your hands.
“I don’t get how any of this works, Jayce - I’ve tried so h-hard to understand, I… I should know how this works…” you breathed out between quiet sobs, muffled from your hands being latched to your face. Jayce placed a comforting hand on your shoulder as you shook. “Maybe I’m not cut out to be here… I should have just gone into the family business like m-my parents wanted…!”
“Don’t say that!” Jayce cut in, quickly going to another bench and pulling up a chair so he could sit next to you on your level. He placed his hand back on your shoulder. “It’s okay to not understand things - I know you pick new things up quick, but it’s okay to be confused. You can’t be a perfectionist at everything, no one can.”
You slowly turned your head to look over to him, the sight of your tear-stained face breaking his heart. “If I can’t get this right, then what’s t-the point? Everyone else seemed to know w-what they were doing… I don’t want people to think I’m stupid…”
“You’re far from stupid!” Jayce’s eyebrows furrowed together at hearing your words. “I’ve seen what you can do - all the amazing things you managed to make when we were kids! You impress me so, so much with your skill and creativity! There’s some things even I can’t do that you pull off effortlessly! Hell, you’re probably one of the smartest ones here!”
You sniffled and wiped your nose with the back of your hand. You opened your mouth to speak, but Jayce spoke up once again, your mouth snapping shut.
“I won’t allow you to beat yourself up - you have so much potential! I know you do, because I’ve seen it first hand! Sure, sometimes things won’t click straight away. But I’ve seen how hard you work. If I believe in you, I know you can do it. You’ve got a brilliant mind you need to use for good!”
Silent at first, you weren’t sure how to take all of this in. Your eyes looked up at Jayce’s face, he looked so confident in his words. While you didn’t one hundred percent believe what he was saying just yet, his little speech did make you feel at least a little bit better. But only just a little bit.
“Thank you, Jayce… and, I’m sorry for ugly crying in front of you,” you let out a cough as you sniffled, using the back of your hand to wipe your face. “I think I just bottled up the frustration and it just… exploded.”
Jayce released his hand from your shoulder and pulled out a white handkerchief from his back pocket, bringing it up to your face to swipe at your eyes and cheeks. “I can’t bear to see you pull yourself down like that - you can do so much, and I want to see you do your best. You have so much potential you haven’t acted on yet.” The handkerchief was embroidered on its edge, the frills fluttering gently against your skin. The soft touch was starting to feel ticklish on your face as you scrunched up your nose, leaning back in your chair. You couldn’t help but let out a giggle.
“Jayce, seriously - I can clean myself up,” you spoke as you waved a hand in front of your face in dismissal, but Jayce’s face started to light up with a happy grin. You could see the gears turning in his head. “No, no Jayce, don’t get any ideas.” You warned, but your tone wasn’t serious by any means.
“Sorry, it’s a bit too late for that.” As soon as he spoke, his hands darted to your sides, ticklishly wiggling into your skin. You let out a loud laugh, hands gripping onto his wrists to stabilise yourself.
When you got upset when you were younger, tickling you was always Jayce’s way to make you feel better. He would tickle you silly, until you couldn’t even recall what made you upset in the first place. Though, he hadn’t had to do it in a long time - since you’ve just been letting everything negative emotion bottle up inside you.
His fingers continued their onslaught on your sides, scribbling up and down, up and down. You cackled as you threw your head back, hitting it against the back of the chair. Jayce let out a laugh of his own, a bright smile on his own face. “You needed this; I just know you did.” He teased you as he switched things up, one of his hands moving to prod at your stomach. You burst out with more laughter.
“Jayce— ahahaha!! Quit it!!” You exclaimed through your laughter, your cheeks growing red. Jayce just shook his head with a smirk etched on his face.
“Not until you’re feeling better. After all, isn’t laughter the best medicine?” Jayce commented as his wandering hands switched things up once again, managing to slip between your arms to attack your poor ribs. Your grip on his wrists tightened, nearly digging into the skin with your nails. You shook your head about, you were extra sensitive on your ribs.
The laughs that Jayce drew from you started to grow hiccupy, making you sound similar to a hyena. Jayce couldn’t help himself and laughed alongside you. But you were hitting a limit, and Jayce could tell, as tears — tears of happiness and joy — started rolling down your face to replace the tears of sadness that stained your face mere minutes before. “I-It’s— hehehEHEHE! Too much, Jahahahayce!” You begged through your laughter.
Jayce didn’t want to push you any further than what you were comfortable with, so he slowed to a stop, placing a hand on top of your head to ruffle your hair. You reached up with your own two hands to place on top of his, groaning with a laugh. “See, what wasn’t so bad, was it?”
“Ugh, shut up,” you mumbled as you pushed his hand off of your head, standing up from your seat, Jayce doing the same. “Well, staying here anymore won’t do me any good.” You spoke up, getting an idea as you looked at Jayce. “If I still can’t figure this out tomorrow… would you maybe come and help me if you’re not busy with your research?”
Jayce’s eyes crinkled up with joy as he nodded his head. You very rarely ask for help, so knowing you’re coming to him of all people for assistance made his heart swell. “Of course - I’m glad you’re asking for my help,” he placed a hand on your back, and with a little push, you both started to walk towards the room’s exit. “Hey, let’s get something to eat before we go home. My treat.” His shining smile beamed down onto you as you looked up to him.
“Sounds like a plan.” You responded with your own small smile and a laugh as you both walked out. You felt much better already, you decided you’d ask for help much more often. It felt better to let everything out.

Oral Fixation
Rhett loves being between your thighs, and you love being the receiving end of his little fixation.

“There’s my pretty girl.” Rhett grinned as you walked over to where he and Perry had been sitting. Perry raised his beer bottle in your direction before flagging down the bartender to get you a drink and himself a refill. Rhett hopped off his stool and pulled you in for a tight hug. You giggled and hugged him back.
“Hey, cowboy… hey, Perry.” you greeted as Rhett guided you to sit between him and Perry.
The three of you hung out at the bar for a few hours before Perry needed to get back to the ranch to take care of Amy. He said his goodbyes, and you kissed him on the cheek before he put down a 20 and headed out of the bar. Rhett sat back in his chair and looked you up and down with a familiar glint in his eyes. You giggled and sipped your drink, “You’re so fuckin’ pretty baby.” Rhett grinned, putting a hand on your thigh. “Especially when you wear stuff like this…” he mumbled as his fingers played with the flouncy material of your skirt. “You wearin’ anything underneath?” a blush spread across your cheeks as Rhett flirted with you. “Am I makin’ ya nervous, pretty girl?”
“No…” You giggled as you finished your drink. Rhett scooted closer to you and put an arm around his shoulder, and his other hand shifted up your thigh under your skirt. You smacked his traveling hands playfully, “Rhett, not in public…”
He chuckled, “Well, my trucks right outside… we could go park by that stream… got some blankets for the back…” he leaned in closer, kissing gently against your jaw. You bit your lip at Rhett’s words and the feeling of his chapped lips moving up your jawline. “You wanna head out, baby?” you nodded in response to Rhett's question, and he hummed in acknowledgment as he pulled some cash out of his pocket to pay for your and his drinks before hopping off his chair.
Rhett held your hand as the two of you exited the bar and walked around the building to the back parking area where he’d parked. He opened the passenger’s door for you and watched you climb into the seat, your skirt hiking up ever so slightly. He bit his cheek to surprise the moan that threatened to spill from his throat. As he walked around the front of the truck, his brain filled with dirty thoughts of you. As he got into his seat, he looked at you, “You never answered my question…” his hand squeezed your thigh. You giggled and decided to pull up the bottom of your skirt now that the two of you had some privacy. As you revealed your pair of soft cotton underwear, Rhett swallowed. “Can I?” he implied as his hand moved up your thigh. You nodded and spread your thighs to allow Rhett’s fingers to rub soft, slow circles over your clothed cunt. The sensation made you shiver; Rhett bit his lip and exhaled through his nose. He loved how sensitive you were.
“Rhett” you giggled as his fingers pushed the material of your panties between your lips, giving him better access to rub your clit through your panties. He chuckled and pulled his hand away to start his truck. He joked about not wanting to get caught before he pulled out of the bar’s parking lot and began the short drive to the stream he’d been talking about. Rhett parked and turned his truck off before grabbing a blanket from his nonexistent backseat. You giggled as you watched him struggle to grab the thick woven blanket. He chuckled as he managed to get the blanket out in one piece. He held it under his armpit, got out of the cab, and walked toward the bed of his truck. You watched him spread the blanket, making it look as comfortable and appealing as possible. You giggled as he came to the passenger door and opened it. After undoing your seatbelt, Rhett slipped an arm under your knees and his other at the small of your back. You scooted toward him before he hoisted you up out of the seat. A slew of giggles escaped your lips as you loosely wrapped your arms around his neck.
Rhett laid you down in the bed of his truck before climbing in himself and trapping your head between his arms, “You’re a damn beauty, you know that?”
You giggled at his compliment and nodded, “You tell me every chance you get.”
Rhett grinned, “You’re also smart..” Rhett leaned in to kiss your kiss. “And kind.” he moved to kiss your jaw. You bit your lip to stifle a moan as one of Rhett’s hands slipped under your skirt again. A whimper escaped your lips when one of Rhett’s rough fingers came in contact with your slick folds. “Already wet for me?” Rhett teased as he nipped at your collarbone. You hummed in confirmation and let your fingers lace in his hair. “You’re so sensitive… so responsive…” Rhett muttered as he pushed a single finger into your entrance.
“Rhett-” you gasped as he slowly started pumping his finger. He hummed at your gasps, relishing the sounds you made as he began to work you. “Can you-”
“You want me to go down on you, baby?” Rhett chuckled as he kissed your neck softly.
“Am I that predictable?” you giggled.
“Yes, but I love eating you out… I could do it all day if you let me.”

It’s not much but it’s honest work, trying to draw on a 8 hour flight never results in good final work, but god does it make laying shit out at the beginning interesting. always for the shits and giggles.
Probably gonna do other mini pieces in between since this will probably take a while.
With that in mind, perish by my hand
(I eat dry wall with much enthusiasm when re-reading your fics. I am 50% dry wall, 50% malice, and 100% throwing hands)
*stares*

The rest is just- *chefs kiss* as well absolute PEAK of a shitpost (100% Appreciative use of the word)
(I mean the Whole is a beautiful high-effort shitpost but you know) lmfao,
SIkuna's expressions are Hilarious (the little dots of Red in im his eyes at the end lmao, my guy is PANIK-) and the way Yuji appeared in the Domain in thE FAMILY GUY DEATH POSE MADE ME CACKLE LMAO- 😂😂😂
I am already absolutely Amazed, and looking forward to both the mini pieces (although you're of course not obligated to do those at all (and neither are you to do the bigger one ofc, it's 100% up to your own want and I appreciate it greatly 🥺🥺🥺🤗🤗🤗) and the finished thing (*explodes from joy*)
I'd gladly perish by your hand for this ngl, and just overall thank you so much!!!!!! :DDDDDD

An endless supply of homemade meals and knit sweaters for the Coruscant Guard
It all started when Cringe helped a random old lade cross a busy street.
It was Cringe's second day on Coruscant and he was patrolling on one of the upper levels along with Rys. When he saw an old granny with a cane afraid to step into the street, he didn't hesitate to help. That's why they were there, right? To help people.
So he helped this lady cross the street, she thanked him and Cringe wanted to leave.
"Not so fast, young man. Why don't you walk with me to my apartment, I have some cake."
Cringe wasn't sure why she wanted him to go home with her and he also wasn't sure why the information about having cake - that was a nat-born meal, wasn't it? - was relevant but refusing this old lady felt rude. So he went along with it.
He was grateful that he did. Apparently, the cake was relevant. Cringe got to eat as much of it as he could and got the rest packed in a box to take back to the barracks. The lady was good company, too. She was very lonely, her husband died five years ago and her only son moved away and was so focused on career he hardly took time to call her once in a while. She invited Cringe to come over again. And who was Cringe to refuse?
There was something going on in the mess hall. There was a huge group of troopers around one of the tables. They were sharing something and looked like they were having fun. What was it? Spice, maybe?
"Commander!" One of the shinies, Cringe, noticed Fox looking at them. "Do you want some?"
Honestly, Fox could do with some good stuff. "Sure."
He didn't get spice. He didn't even get a death stick. He got a tiny piece of cake with pink frosting. Where the kriff did they even get that?
Thorn was sitting at the reception desk in the Coruscant Guard headquarters. He hated reception duty. It was all about explaining irritated senators that no, it wasn't the Guard's job to stand at their speeder to make sure no one scratched it and that if they needed a bodyguard, they had to fill a request and then wait for a clone officer to authorize it, and no they couldn't just barge in and take two troopers.
"Next!" he called out after the last senator left.
  "Hello."
Thorn closed his eyes under his helmet, the opened them again. Either he was going crazy or there was an ancient, smiling lady in front of him. Not their typical visitor.
"Hello, how can I help you?"
  "I'm looking for Glitch."
Thorn has never been good at remembering names but it sounded like a clone name. Did some poor shiny offend this lady? "I'm sorry, he is unavailable at the moment."
  "Then give him this, please."
"Of course, ma'am," Thorn said instinctively as he examined the rather large package the lady put on the counter.
  "Thank you, dear."
Before Thorn could process that, the lady was gone. Curious, he peaked inside the package. It wasn't everyday that a trooper received a gift. He hoped it wasn't a bomb or something like that.
"Hey guys, do you know where Glitch might be?" Thorn asked a group of troopers in the barracks as soon as his shift was over.
  "Over there, playing cards."
Thorn thanked him quickly before jogging over to the gamblers. He saw one of them quickly hiding something in his pocket. Fox didn't mind playing sabacc in the slightest but he didn't like it when troopers bet things, whether it were rare credits or just supplies like ration bars. Thorn didn't really know what the troopers were betting, if they lost their blasters in sabacc, well, that wasn't Thorn's problem. But being a commander, he wasn't trusted not to tell Fox.
  "Commander."
"At ease. I have a package for Glitch."
  "That's me, sir."
Thorn handed the shiny his package. He still didn't quite know what the contents were, he didn't peak that much. The only thing he knew was that there was something white and soft.
Thorn watched the shiny unpack two fluffy sweaters and various containers of nat-born food. What the heck?
Glitch, of course, visited the kind lady to thank her. He left with a huge box of cookies and an invitation to come over for dinner.
The dinners became a regular occurrence. It didn't take long and Glitch got asked to call her grandma. He even had the honor of meeting the bingo club and was also told to start bringing friends. Grandma and her friends from bingo were furious when they found out the Guard only got to eat ration bars and that they were always freezing because there was no heating in the barracks.
All troopers had sweaters now. They were warm and soft, not like their blacks. And grandma and her friends from the knitting club even took time to make each trooper who came to talk to them their custom sweater that matched their armor. They even convinced grandma to knit a sweater with fox for their grumpy commander.
Somehow, the whole thing ended the war.
The world had no idea why numerous complaints about the treatment of clones were coming to the senate from a senior house and a knitting club for lonely grandmas of all places. They had no idea how the chancellor later revealed Sith lord happened to get stabbed to death with knitting needless or why a surprising number of clones from the Guard decided to go help out to old people now that they were free of all things they could've chosen.
But the Corries knew. They knew and they would never tell.

...Just developed an awesome plot for ulquihime comic/fic while I napped.
So! Here's the list of cool big plots I that have more or less worked out at the moment:
Aiichi (in progress: "Outlines", read here!)
Grimmichi - post-TYBW spin-off about how the 'peaceful' 'human' life is not what Ichigo actually wants or needs.
Byaichi - post-TYBW; Ichigo gets dragged into another supernatural conflict! This time, an old enemy of the Kuchiki clan comes into play, and they won't stop at anything to cause Byakuya as much pain as possible.
Ulquihime - post-TYBW; A being is found deep in the deserts of Hueco Mundo, barely alive, almost unrecognizable. Later a Garganta appears near Inoue's bakery.
Attack on Titan major AU. What if there was no humanity behind the walls? Alternate titan lore, closure for Ymir, everyone lives. Possibly platonic Eren&Levi.
Resident Evil, Albert Wesker/Leon Kennedy - a very old idea that I'd like to work on someday. Basically it's Wesker rescuing Leon's sorry ass, and Chris having to help his archenemy to save his friend. Claire is the only sane person in all of this.

[Shigaraki Tomura x Fem!Reader]
Previous: Prologue
➨ Chapter One
Next: Chapter Two
Premise:
The multiverse theory is the idea that there is not only one universe but, instead, an infinite number of universes, parallel to one another.
You and Tenko were heroes in your universe. The war came and went, and that left only you. When you are thrown into a universe parallel to yours, you find out the hard way just how similar and different it is from your own.
A/N: I know this is technically the first chapter BUT, there is a prologue for this story. So if you haven't checked that out yet, it's linked above, and I highly recommend reading that first.
If you'd prefer to read on Ao3, here is the link:
Otherwise, enjoy!
♡ ♡ ♡
CHAPTER ONE
The rain grew heavier, encouraging you to turn away from your departing friend in favor of heading home. Combined with the cool early-spring air, you were sure you’d get a chill. It was a little surreal, being a top-charted hero who helped save the world from villainous destruction and taking transit like you were a typical commuter. No one batted an eye. They probably didn’t even recognize you regardless of whether or not you were dressed for work.
That’s how the world was.
They cared for the first few weeks following the end of the war, but that dwindled as weeks stretched into months. Once the roads were rebuilt and everyone resumed their daily lives, there wasn’t much to remind them of what had happened.
And after the upheaval of hero-dominated society, the raving over who was Number One and which debuts showed the most promise declined to almost nothing.
Heroes were becoming a thing of the past.
Your apartment was reminiscent of that fact. For nearly your entire life, you were chasing after some dream of becoming a hero and making the world a better and safer place. Yet there was barely anything decorating your walls or countertops to suggest such a thing. You had been living there for roughly two years, just after the end of the war, but there were countless boxes shoved aside still waiting to be unpacked. You’d peered inside them a handful of times, but you decided it was better that their contents stayed tucked away.
After entering your apartment, you wasted no time in peeling off your soaked clothing. The various articles landed on the linoleum flooring with a wet slap. You kicked your pants to the side and shuffled over to one of the stools at your kitchen counter. You grabbed a throw blanket that was draped over the back of one of them and wrapped it around your shivering body.
A pitiful groan emanated from your stomach just before it cramped up uncomfortably. With a slight wince, you huffed and checked your fridge for any remaining left overs or easy meals.
What a sad sight that was. The light inside of the fridge illuminated your face as you stared at mostly empty shelves.
Whatever.
You could always order take out.
Swiping away missed calls and unread messages, you began a search for anything that sounded appealing.
Maybe if you’d gotten a text from Toga or Iguchi, you would have cared. But Toga was obviously busy with her big move, and you couldn’t remember the last time Iguchi had reached out to you. For a while, you two would try to make time to grab lunch or play games like you used to, but you both knew it was hardly the same anymore. You saw each other less and less, until your meetups stopped altogether.
Nowadays, your dreams were filled with memories rather than hopes for the future. Your heart and soul longed for the experiences and the people in your past, and the only way you could indulge was in your sleep. Waking up afterwards was like pulling teeth as you tried your utmost to return to whatever memory had been playing out in your mind.
The doorbell rang.
Your food was left outside your door, and after bringing it in, you ate maybe half of it before banishing the leftovers to the fridge of doom. The light filtering into your apartment gradually turned cool and dim, meaning it was just late enough for you to justify turning in for the night. You didn’t bother putting on a dry set of clothes, instead opting to crawl into bed wearing your mildly soggy undergarments.
Every day was the same. You’d work, go home, eat, and sleep. You never went out anymore, and you were certain that if you picked up your TV remote, it would leave a silhouette behind contrasting the dusty surface.
The only bits of ‘décor’ you had were photographs strewn about your TV stand. None of them were framed. They just lay there for you to peruse whenever you wanted to inflict even more emotional damage upon yourself. The old photos of your friends from work and school before the war best served for collecting dust.
There was one that stood out from the rest. It lay on your nightstand, still sheen from its frequent handling.
Delicately, you picked it up, just as you did most nights, and peered down at it.
It was the day Tenko Shimura officially started as a pro-hero at the AFO Hero Agency.
He spent the past few years with them as an internship and a work study, but everyone felt that starting there as a graduate was something to be celebrated. So you all made a day of it.
Everyone was there, and the conference room had been decorated and rearranged to better fit the occasion. Several platters of food lined the tables, filling the room with a heavenly aroma that complimented the chatter quite well.
Tenko wasn’t typically one for parties or huge get-togethers, especially when he was the focus, but he was kept from standing idly as people took turns congratulating him. You could tell he was beginning to grow tired of all the socializing.
You chuckled as you stepped up to his side, walking him away from his dying conversation. You watched as he relaxed his tense shoulders and dipped his head back with an airy groan.
“How does it feel being the life of the party?” you snickered.
He glowered at you through his messy, black bangs before placing a gloved hand on your shoulder and giving you a strong shove that sent you stumbling. You cursed as you regained your balance, ready to retaliate but he was already walking away from you.
“Hey!” You trotted back up to him.
“You’re next, you know,” he said, looking at you from the corner of his eye.
You tilted your head to the side, “To be the focus of a party?”
“To join the agency,” he corrected. “When you graduate, you’d better.”
“Oh, of course.” You grinned at him before narrowing your eyes slightly. “But only if you promise to stick around until then.”
“I’m planning on it,” he chuckled, “Unless you piss me off.”
It was your turn to jab at him, but, unlike you, he kept his balance, barely even stepping to the side.
The two of you found a secluded place to sit and chat idly but it was mostly filled with a comfortable silence as you scrolled on your phones. You were only granted a few minutes of social reprieve before Magne came looking for you.
“Are you two aware that the party isn’t out here?” she said, crossing her arms like a disappointed mother.
You and Tenko exchanged a glance, but neither of you said a word.
“Get your asses in there!” She scolded, shepherding the two of you back to the celebration. “We’re taking a group picture.”
Everyone crowded together. You were pushed up against Tenko’s side, and the two of you felt Iguchi drop his arms onto your shoulders. He stood behind you, still clearly visible between your heads, and Toga latched herself onto your free arm. Touya lurked on the very edge of the group while Compress took on a dramatic pose to ensure his theatrics would be captured for all of eternity.
One of Jin’s doubles positioned himself in front of everyone, partially crouched down and shuffling this way and that in order to get the perfect angle.
He didn’t have to tell you to say ‘cheese’ to get you to grin from ear-to-ear.
You felt Tenko’s gloved hand press against the small of your back as the camera flashed, immortalizing the occasion.
Seeing everybody grinning back at you in the photo four years later made your heart ache in many ways. You were happy that you possessed that memory as well as a picture to always remind you of it. But you were also tormented by the fact that it would never be recreated.
Unfortunately, plans didn’t always come to fruition.
When you started as a pro-hero at the agency, the world was in too much chaos to celebrate. And even if you held a celebration once everything settled down, Tenko wouldn’t be there to congratulate you.
In spirit, maybe.
When you really thought about it, almost everyone would be missing.
Magne had passed many years ago, when your team was assigned to the Overhaul-Eri case. The war took away Jin, Touya, Sensei, and, of course, Tenko. Iguchi would have stuck around long enough, but Atsuhiro was forced into retirement when the war first started.
In a way, the villains got what they wanted. Countless heroes were decommissioned, and those who remained were no longer viewed in the same positive light as they once were. Criticism was high if a hero couldn’t carry out a job flawlessly and without any casualties. Even then, you were always at risk of being deemed a ‘fame-chaser’ or that you were only in it for the money.
The only heroes that remained were the honest and the resilient.
You liked to think you were both, but as time went on, you grew more unsure. In the beginning, you were more than eager to make a positive impact on people’s lives, regardless of whether or not you were credited or paid for it. Eventually, you met everyone at your agency, and hero work changed your life for the better. Even if you failed a job, you had people by your side to pick you back up and keep you pushing forward.
But now?
Now, you were tired.
You no longer had your support system keeping you motivated and in good spirits. While you still felt pleased with every life you protected, that feeling of fulfillment would be gone by the time your head touched your pillow.
That’s where you were at currently.
With a deep sigh, you let go of the photograph, letting it fall back onto the nightstand, and rolled onto your back to stare at the ceiling. You shut your eyes, but you knew it would be hours before you actually fell asleep. You would either sleep the day away or you’d barely sleep at all. Rarely could you find a balance between the two.
Usually, you would stay up thinking about how everything ended up the way it did, and whether there was anything you could have done to prevent it all from happening. What could you possibly have done so that your team would still be at your side?
If you were split up differently during the Overhaul raid so that you were in Magne’s group, you could have pushed her out of the way of Chisaki’s fatal touch. If you had stuck by Jin’s side instead of letting him go into the Paranormal Liberation Front’s headquarters alone, you could have fought off Hawks before he landed his deadly blow.
And Tenko…
You’d probably have to end the war all on your own in order to save him. He was at the forefront of every battle, leading the charge. He had no regard for his own safety. He gave up his own body so that Mr. Shigaraki could transfer his quirk and conscience to it. You’re pretty sure that was the point of no return.
After that, you don’t think anything that came out of Tenko’s mouth was truly him.
Whether or not he could even hear you scream and cry for him in the final moments of the war would remain a mystery.
The heels of your hands pressed deeply against your eyes as if you could physically push the thoughts out of your head. You couldn’t do this tonight. You needed to do something, anything, other than lay there and dwell on things of the past.
How could you have known what was to come?
Throwing off your covers, you ripped the last garments from your person and got up to change into something clean and dry. You had to get out of your sad and dingy little apartment. You wiggled your way into a spare hero suit after deciding that lending a helping hand for the night was your best chance at clearing your head.
You made your way back to your agency as quickly as you could through the frigid rain. It wouldn’t be so bad if it were summer time, since the warmth would typically counteract it, but you still had a few months of spring to get through. By the time you arrived, you were a bit damp, but you found it hard to care. Pulling your keycard out of your wallet, you tapped into the system so you could get in.
Even though it was late, there were still a few people around in case of emergency, and none of them were surprised to see you stroll in. Two of them were people you had graduated with, though they did their work studies elsewhere.
“Hiya,” Minji, a pink-haired and bubbly girl, sang to you in greeting. She was sitting alert at her desk, ready for whatever report came her way.
“Hi,” you nodded, walking over to her.
Another girl you attended school with was lounging in the space adjacent to hers, leaning back as far as her chair would allow, both feet propped up on the desk. Her head turned over in your direction before she acknowledged you, “Need something to do?”
“If you have anything,” you said with a shrug.
“I think Sakiko got a call-in just a few minutes ago requesting a hero to accompany the transport of a villain,” Minji chimed with a soft smile, eyes darting over to her companion.
“Uh, yeah. Let me get the details on that,” Sakiko mumbled as she kicked her feet off of the desk and scooted closer to search through her computer. “Yeah, so the police want to transport a villain to a higher security prison… His name is Dai Uchuu. He was involved with Overhaul during the raid, but he was able to escape, and there’ve been no updates on his activity since. We also don’t have any official documentation but his quirk is believed to be a teleportation-type triggered by his hands making contact with each other.”
“Sure, that works. Send me the address, and let them know I’ll be there.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
The station wasn’t too far from the agency. You walked for maybe ten minutes before you could see its lit-up sign at the end of the block. There was a brief flicker but it recovered almost immediately. However, the lights within the station began to spasm on and off, which was slightly more concerning.
The police relied mainly on quirk-nullifying restraints and cells to prevent breakouts. If they were having issues with the power, then the nullification effects would likely be down, and that would be quite the problem.
You quickened your pace and rushed into the building. The first thing you noticed was the plethora of odd objects that had been thrown about the lobby. There was a bicycle on top of the desk, a canoe sticking out from one of the doorways, and a large tub of paint that was actively rolling across the floor, leaving a trail of blue behind it. You could see a large splatter on the wall where you assumed it had made contact.
The second thing you noticed was the silence. Despite the apparent chaos, not a single cop was in sight. You couldn’t even hear any voices emanating from adjacent rooms. There was no one.
You briefly reported the situation to your agency through the communicator strapped to your forearm and cautiously proceeded onto the other rooms. The holding area and the locker rooms were empty and in similar condition to the lobby. You were about to say the same for the offices, but you noticed a quiet murmur coming from behind one of the far desks.
In a slight crouch and with light feet, you slinked in that direction. As you peered around one of the desks, you saw the villain, Uchuu, still dressed in his medieval garb. His colorful back was turned to you as he rummaged through a filing cabinet. The quirk-nullifying restraints dangled from one of his wrists. One of the officers must have gotten that on him after he had a go at most of the building.
But then why hadn’t you run into him?
You silently reached forward and cast your quirk, causing his clothes to freeze him in place. As you walked forward, he began to snicker. You faltered a step at his odd behavior.
“Of course you would be the one to show up,” he spoke with a strange accent.
“I guess?” You positioned yourself in front of him. You wouldn’t be able to attach the restraint he had on to his other wrist due to it being frozen along with him, so you pulled out one of the few that you carried. “What happened to everyone?”
You reached forward to attach the new set of cuffs, but as you did, you caught sight of the file he was holding.
Was that your name?
The cabinet he was going through was supposed to contain criminal profiles. Just as you were about to question how and why he had one that was addressed to you, you felt a sharp pain on the back of your hand.
“Ow! What the fuck?!” You jerked away and were about the curse the man out for fucking pinching you, before processing the fact that he was standing up. Your surprise had caused you to release your quirk, freeing him.
“What a fortunate turn of events this has been,” he drawled with a wicked grin. You narrowed your eyes and raised your arm to use your quirk again, but before you could, his hands clapped together.
You felt your entire body lurch forward, and for a moment, everything was black.
You figured you must have blinked because it was only a second before you could see clearly again. A wave of nausea began crawling its way up your belly, but you did your best to ignore the feeling while you frantically looked around.
It took you a moment to realize that Dai Uchuu was no longer in front of you. The filing cabinet was closed and no more papers were littering the floor. He must have gotten what he was looking for and bolted… Were you seeing black for longer than you realized?
If he clapped his hands, he must have tried using his quirk but he still had a restraint around one of his wrists. That should have been enough to still subdue his quirk, so he had to be around somewhere.
You quickly made to leave, almost bumping into an officer who was standing up from his desk. He shouted after you, and you gave a clipped apology but kept on your pursuit. As you entered the lobby, you almost ran head first into another officer and had to pause to move out of her way. She didn’t seem to be in much of a hurry though.
“Do you know which way he went?” you quickly asked her as you began walking backwards towards the exit of the building.
She looked perplexed, doing a double take of you. “Who? What were you doing in that area?”
He must not have gone that way otherwise, given his outlandish appearance, she surely would have remembered. That meant he would still be in the building.
“That’s where I found Dai Uchuu. He was going through some of the criminal records but he managed to get away,” you explained, slowly walking back towards her. “I’m not sure what he was looking for, but I’m guessing—”
“Who are you?”
What?
“I’m the hero assigned to your case,” you said matter-of-factly. “You guys sent in a request for help, so I came.”
She jerked her head back, scrutinizing you. “We didn’t—”
“Listen, if you didn’t see him come this way, he must still be in the building. You guys should look for him here, and I’ll check outside in case he found some other way out,” you said as you began a quick pace into the lobby.
They made quick work of cleaning up, because all of the foreign objects that were thrown about when you’d arrived were nowhere to be seen. You noticed even the giant paint splatter was gone. Actually, the entire place looked spotless of even normal dirt and wear-and-tear. Maybe you should’ve hired them to clean up your apartment for you.
The room erupted in clamor as you booked it outside. It was a lot clearer out without the rain, but you still couldn't see any sign of the villain. Leaving it up to intuition, you started sprinting down the road to your left as you updated your agency through your communicator with a request for more heroes to help search.
You were barely running for a minute before you began feeling overheated. There was no way you were that tired already, you didn’t go through all that training for nothing. Then, you realized it wasn’t your body that was too warm, it was the air around you. Not even ten minutes ago, you were freezing your ass off as you trudged to the station in the rain. Now, it felt like the temperature outside was pushing 70 degrees.
Someone had to be controlling the weather. Quirks like that were rare, but not unheard of. Either way, that was somebody else’s problem. You were a little preoccupied at the moment.
You were growing irritated that you hadn’t heard anything from your colleagues. Minji was usually super responsive. She must have stepped away and left Sakiko in charge, which would explain the lack of urgency on their end.
Your pace began to slow as your energy grew more and more depleted.
Your end of the search was proving to be pointless. You passed a run-down convenience store when you decided it would be best to head back to the station to see if the police were fruitful. You heard the chime of the shop’s bell too late, turning on your heel to retrace your steps and crashing into someone as they were exiting.
You jostled back.
There were two people, and your collision caused them to drop their bags, scattering the contents. You crouched down to help them pick up whatever had fallen, hoping they didn’t have any paper products for the rain-soaked ground to get soggy.
Your eyebrows pressed together as you picked up a messy handful of napkins. You looked down at the sidewalk and pressed your hand against it.
It was bone dry.
That couldn’t be right, there’s no way the water would have evaporated that quickly.
You couldn’t ponder the strange occurrence for long as the shoe of one of the people stepped closer to you. Hurriedly, you scooped as many items back into the bag as you could and peered up at them with an apologetic smile. They were already reaching toward you with an open hand. It was a bit too close to your face for your liking, so you leaned away as you stood.
“I’m so sorry. I wasn’t paying attention.” You pushed the bag into their hand and finally looked at the person’s face to see it was mostly covered by a black face mask and a hood. Despite that, peeking through a plume of dusty blue hair was a pair of fiery red eyes that felt as if they were burning through your soul.

Thanks @annoyingcloudearthquake for tagging me! Edit: also thank you to @nisbanisba and @lemonlyman-dotcom who tagged me after I already posted 😂
Here’s a little blurb from my current WIP Turn and Burn:
TK rolls over in bed and reaches for Carlos, still half asleep, but his hand finds nothing but cold empty sheets. He groans and sits up in bed, flipping on the lamp sitting on the bedside table. It illuminates the room and the empty space in the bed next to him. The lamp isn’t the only thing bringing light into the room, there's a soft orange glow creeping through under the crack in the door. TK sighs and climbs out of bed to go retrieve his husband.
He finds his husband sitting on the couch, his legs crossed under him. There’s several papers strewn on the couch next to him. He has his glasses on and is looking through an old shoe box sitting in his lap. He looks up as TK makes his way across the room towards him.
“Did I wake you up?” he asks, his voice barely a whisper.
“No,” TK shakes his head moving aside the papers and pictures to make room for himself on the couch next to Carlos. “I just woke up and didn’t know where you went.”
“Sorry,” Carlos mumbles, letting his shoulders slump.
“It’s okay,” TK says gently, and nestles onto the couch with him. He wraps himself around Carlos’s arm and leans his head against his shoulder. Carlos looks back down at the box in his lap.
“Is that you and Roja?” TK asks, reaching up to fiddle with Carlos’s curls, as he peaks over his shoulder at the picture he’s holding in his hands.
“Yeah,” Carlos says reverently, and hands the picture to TK.
TK finds himself looking at a much younger Carlos clinging to the back of the fiery red horse he’d seen earlier that day. They’re twisting around a blue and white barrel. There’s a shit eating grin on Carlos’s face, and he’s not sure if he’s ever seen a horse look so happy. It almost looks like she’s smiling. It’s a perfect moment frozen forever in time.
“You never told me you used to barrel race,” TK says, handing the picture back to him.
“It never really came up,” Carlos says with a little shrug, and returns the picture to the box. “And it was a long time ago.”
Tagging: @reyesstrand @hail-hawk-eye @strandnreyes @carlos-in-glasses @ironheartwriter @futures-tense @paperstorm @thisbuildinghasfeelings @mrs-corrections-78 and anyone else who wants to join in!!

And I See Forever in Your Eyes
Summary:
“After nearly eight years, Buck thought he was over this part of the job. The stomach churning shock to his system when something truly heartbreaking happens. But he was wrong. With one call, he finds out he was wrong about a few things.”
OR
Buck and Tommy have to work on a call together. Feelings are felt. Words are exchanged. These crazy kids need to work out there issues.
Well I did it. I wrote and published my first fic on AO3. There’s so much dialog but I just need them to talk! This started as tags on a poll by @louisferrignojr so thanks for the inspiration!

As a last hurrah before the year is done, have my take on lesbian Errorink ✧˖°.
I saw an interesting question once. One that posed the controversial thought that "if your yaoi ship got turned into yuri, would you even still ship it anymore??" It was an interesting question, although perhaps a leading question, that gave the idea that many people may cease to ship a pairing if they turned from boys to girls.
I only had one thought to that question.
It's cute that you think that would have any chance of deterring me. No, w a t c h. My undying love for my otp is only strengthened.
Case in point; if yaoi errorink has consumed my entire mind and soul, then it would make perfect sense that yuri errorink would do so as well. Don't you see. It's literally the exact same ship, with all the same dynamics and interactions, but they're ✧˖°.girls now✧˖°.
SO. BIG SHOUTOUT TO JUNIEMUNIE FOR THEIR REFS WHICH STRONGLY INSPIRED MINE. I want to draw their versions one day. And I will, I will, just let me cook, man, I promise I will-
Of course, obligatory "p l e a s e open drawings in another tab to see them better 'cus they look like dog water on here."
WARNING; RAMBLING AHEAD THAT I WILL T R Y TO MAKE SHORT I thought it would be so funny, man, hilarious, if Error was like. This scrunkly girlboss badass who could, and would, absolutely destroy you. B u t she is sort of dressed like a high end hobo?? Like- SHE GOT THE BUNNY SLIPPERS ON AND LOOKS LIKE SHE LOW KEY JUST ROLLED OUT OF BED, but she gonna make damn sure her makeup is on f l e e k before she walks out that door ✧˖°.
BUT, THEN, COMPARE THAT. COMPARE THAT WITH. Just comedy gold, I tell you. This badass, skrunkly girlboss Destroyer of Worlds and her love interest, the only one who holds the key to her heart... is just Ink. A teeny lil cutie patootie who runs around completely barefoot in Care Bear lookin' overalls, with a paintbrush taller than she is and a giant burrito scarf. Just-
Yep. That's the Destroyer of Worlds's gf, right there. (I can see the crap posts now. Error being an absolutely horrifying entity to be reckoned with, but immediately switches to a sing-songy, happy voice as soon as Ink pops into the room.)
Fun fact; I'm sick as a dog as of this post. I finished these drawings not being able to breathe or swallow. :D Well, f i n e, I wasn't as bad when I finished Error's first, but then I got worse with Ink's. Like. I was staring at the screen, half-dead and unable to focus, when I was finishing her up, but she doesn't look half that bad, huh. Not too shabby for someone who can barely concentrate and had to proofread this post four times before giving up and hoping it is at least somewhat coherent in my fever induced fog state.

Righteous Fury Master List
Tumblr media
When one man finds himself in the same position he was in four years ago, he has a choice to make. When the beast hungry for retribution and protection roars, Sergeant John 'Soap' MacTavish answers.
That choice leads him into a life he never expected as part of Task Force 141 and SpecGru: one of subterfuge, counter-terrorism, and intelligence operations. He knows how to defuse a bomb and shoot a gun, but can he handle the increased pressure of the work?
For the shattered but unbroken.

A fix-it and beyond of MWIII. Part of the Museum Muse Universe.
Contains: Canon Typical Violence, Gun and Knife Violence, Civilian Death, Character Death
Many thanks to my partner, Kallen, for the technical advice. This wouldn’t be here without the two hour lecture I endured listened to about all the inaccuracies of bomb design and hand-to-hand combat in the original material. (I brought it upon myself by asking for help from him. ☺️)
My editors @the-californicationist, @syoddeye, @pfhwrittes and @eilidh-eternal are amazing and you should support them too.
Edit (9.17.2024): Huge ginormous thanks to @phoenixhalliwell for their Scot-picking throughout this adventure.
