So I'm kind of new to the Taylor swift fandom. And I keep seeing posts about an ominous fence. What is the deal with the fence? What is the story?

oh my gosh i am so honored to be the one to explain this to you lmao so taylor is kind of notorious for leaving little hints (easter eggs) about upcoming albums/projects. the fandom, especially nowadays, tends to take every little tiny move she makes way too far and read into it for hints which... used to be lighthearted and fun! its more intense now. but we used to be dramatic and silly with it! she posted a series of photos that had what seemed to be a countdown to something and it included the photo that i will attach at the end of this explanation that sent us all into a little spiral.

there was a photo taylor posted with seven palm trees, the next day she posted a photo sitting on the sixth step of a staircase, the following day she posted *the five holes in the fence* photo (a picture in which if you count the holes you will count five) and then proceeded to "fourget" to post and didn't continue said countdown that we were all very deeply convinced existed. so it was just us being ridiculous as per usual. so the fandom and taylor nation and even taylor herself like to poke fun at the five holes in the fence situation.

and today taylor nation posted the lover cardigan with the model posing by a white fence, so they were just giving us a hard time and poking fun at the whole thing. which is honestly kind of hilarious.

what the post DOES remind me of are the bajillion new theories every day about when she’s going to announce new music, when it’s less than three months since she released something new! and people better be able to get playfully razzed by taylornation, it comes with the clown territory 😌

I just…I was having fun talking about possibilities, but it makes me so upset when people clown and then get mad that the thing they made up didn’t materialize. I don’t see it much here because I follow the right people but I hear about it or see it on tiktok. So I wanted to be clear that I am neither demanding she release something (anything) beyond what is already promised (Eras Tour movie and 1989 TV) nor will I be mad at her if she doesn’t. If she releases nothing for the next five years I’ll start to get a little antsy hoping for something, but, like, she has to do what feels right to her. And I will always be grateful for whatever she’s giving us.
