Starting off Father's Day weekend with some of Daddy's( Husband👫) favorite #TraderJoes goodies and some newbies that the kids and bought home for him to try😍 I may be more excited about it than anyone in the house because this is the best cinnamon crumb cake I ever had, and everyone that comes to visit our home and tries it agrees!! 😋 Now, the Peaches & Cream tart and Ghost Pepper chips are the newbies and the Daddy in our house Loooooooooves super spicy food, so we know he'll be surprised to see these!!🌶🌶. Mmmmmm...take a look at those beautiful golden beets and orange carrots I shared with you last week that I picked up at #BlueSkyFarms at the #UptownFarmersMarket in Phoenix ($2.98) 💚 I peeled, chopped them added onion, kosher salt, pepper and bathed them in avocado oil, cover with foil and baked in oven for about 30 minutes. Found these green beauties at the #UptownFarmersMarket today. I've been dreaming of some hot crunchy, buttermilk dipped, cornmeal breaded, fried green tomatoes. Fried green tomatoes were a regular table fixin growing up in the south with a nice side of macaroni & cheese, collard greens and fresh baked cornbread and sweet tea!!🍅🍞 I've only been able to find green tomatoes once in the 9 years that I've lived in AZ!! 😢 As a kid I didn't really care to eat them but as an adult I've grown to appreciate and long for the taste of southern fried green tomatoes😍😋 I'm so grateful to Crystal and Tom at #LatchkeyGardens for growing these with love, I paid about $2 for 3, and everything they grow is certified organic.💚 I so enjoy supporting our local famers and gardeners, they grow some of the most beautiful things you will ever lay eyes on, and they grow them with love💚 #fitandfabmom #family #faith #food #wellness #localfoodmarkets #dinner #childhoodmemories #GeorgiaGirl #friedgreentomatos #supportlocalbusinesses #momlife

#MomOnMissions at the AZ State Capitol: This coming Wednesday February 8th is an exciting time in legislation for moms and babies, and I'm inviting you to join us!! The March of Dimes has invited us to come lobby with them on behalf of our fellow moms and babies in AZ. We will lobby concerning the following issues: ❤newborn screenings. ❤dental coverage for pregnant woman. ❤opioid abuse. ❤tobacco prevention. ❤Zika. This is an opportunity for our voices to be heard, to stand up for one another, to empower another mom and determine the future care of our babies. We will be at the capitol from 9am-2pm, lunch will also be provided😊 I know that many of us have car pools and school pick ups at various times through out the day, but I encourage you to stop by for as long as you can and voice your concerns directly to out legislatures. We are in great need of diapers and wipes to assist with the long term needs of the thousands of moms and babies that are trying to rebuild their lives.💞 We are grateful for our community friends at #liftinghandsinternatinal for hosting a drop off location for us. LHI is a beautiful organization that sets up fully furnished apartments for new refugee families that are resettled in Arizona. I'm telling you, nothing says "hello fall you're welcome here," like a loaf of warm banana bread🍌🍞😍 This was my first time making a #vegan and gluten free loaf with dairy-free chocolate chips and #coconutsugar instead of #canesugar. I realized when it was time to pour it in the pan that I didn't own a single aluminum loaf pan🙈🙉🙊😂😂....so I lined my glass loaf dish with wax paper sprayed it with coconut oil and packed that yummy banana mixture on in there and popped in the oven with a prayer!! 😂😂 I've experienced a few kitchen tragedies with my glass dishes in the past totally breaking during my attempts to be a homemaker!! 😂😂 This bread turnout warm, soft, dense on the inside with a slight crusty crunch on the outside!! I had a peace with a warm cup of tea and it totslly made my day😍😍 What's you favorite fall comfort dessert?? My morning pick-me-ups ....I've been running myself ragged over the last few weeks, really months since school has started for the kids again! Endless carpools, long carpool traffic lines, lunch box packing, field trip going, nose blowing, bed making, floor mopping, grocery shopping, brushing the little teeth in my house...and mounds of endless laundry were as soon as you finish the last load you realize someone in the house threw a random pair of stinky socks in the dirty basket, starting the dirty clothes cycle all over again only a few minutes after you thought you conquered it!!🙈🙉🙊 At any moment I feel like I could lay on this GIANT pile of unfolded clean clothes that have been staring at me for the last 3 days and sleep for about 5 days straight!! 😂😂 So, here's my daily dose of B-12 to give me a little kick in the back to keep going, my daily vitamins, probiotics, and herbal wellness formula drops. #LibraryNerds 🤓📚 ...here are some of our library finds for the week. On the right are books we've checked out and on the left are books that were given to us free at the library through the Benevillla Family Resource Center and from our play groups in the area supported by the First Things First program. I try to take the kids to the library about 3x a week during the summer and at least once a week during the school year.(life happens, we don't always make it 3x a week😢😊) I know that our world is growing digitally and you can download just about any book on the planet, but I believe it's important to teach children how important the library is, that checking out tangible "real" books will never go out of style. I spent this summer teaching my little one how the library files there books by topic, author, and alphabetical order and how to find specific books. We kinda do book "treasure hunts" were we choose a topic or book author and see if we can find it. The digital world is amazing, but there's nothing like holding a book in your hands, feeling and turning through those pages, seeing those colorful pictures...it strengthens their imaginations and ours too!! 😊 I want my sweet ones to know that our library is more than books, it's a place were community takes place, we meet new people, discover the world, and story time grows our imaginations. It's good ole fashion, FREE fun!!! (FYI- the Junie B. Out on missions this morning, we visited our community partners @liftinghandsinternational to pick up a load of book bags and school supplies to distribute to some of the #refugee families in our community that we mentor. Thank you to mother and son team Carson and Megan for hosting a book back drive in their own community to donate to our partners, who then in turn donate to us!! It is indeed a village effort. 👭👬👫 It's so beautiful to see the smile on the faces of our moms when they see their own children get soooo excited about receiving their bags full of school supplies. As a mom, and at one time a struggling single mom, I can fully appreciate the relief it brings to our homes financially when a community comes together to make sure all of our children have exactly what they need to thrive, especially when a family may not be in the position to purchase themselves.❤ I'm so grateful to our community partners and individual donors that support and pray for our #MomOnMission efforts...My heart if full.❤ I'm grateful. #fitandfabmom #family #faith #MomsOnMissions #ItTakesAVillage #LoveUplifts #MomsEmpoweringMoms #NothingIsToSmall #moms #refugees
