Honestly I think that the village in Issylra arc only weakened the thematic content of the god story bc it’s really not about what the people who believe in the gods do in their name. Like this story really doesn’t work if you think it’s talking about our world’s conception of religion. It’s not about faith, it’s about power.

The gods are real and powerful in Exandria. The threat of them is not cultural but existential. It doesn’t come up often but Exandria is a post apocalyptic setting, just 800 years on. And that apocalypse was the gods fault (with a slight assist from the Ring of Brass, thanks guys).

While they are sympathetic in Downfall, they’re also incredibly hypocritical, cowardly, and as the whole mechanic of that last battle is constructed to showcase, too powerful. For all of Aeor’s flaws, why should the gods be allowed to indiscriminately lay destruction down on mortals as collateral damage, but an attempt to gain any leverage is calls to level an entire city? Why do Reilorans gets trapped on a piece of orbiting rock only dreaming about the real world bc the gods were afraid of some big monster and threw a whole population into the sky?

I don’t hate the gods of Exandria. I think their motivations are understandable. I think none of this justifies Ludinus’s actions. I love moments in previous campaigns with the Everlight and the Wildmother. I find the Matron so compelling as a character. The Divine Gate was a good system, but as we’re seeing right now, they will drop it the second they feel threatened, even knowing they could cause a second Calamity. Nothing is allowed to pose an existential threat to them. They are allowed to destroy anything to protect themselves.

That’s really the problem. When the gods are afraid, they are powered by that fear, they will let that fear destroy any amount of mortals or other creatures, who are not given any recourse, who are not allowed to defend themselves in the same way. Mortals must accept their own death at the hands of those more powerful than them, but the gods refuse to.

Until now. It took a while to get to this point of clarity but I do think Bell’s Hells solution is perfect because it tells the gods that they are not allowed to behave this way. It doesn’t demand they die out of twisted revenge. It simply says, you have to face this, you cannot cling to being all-powerful forever at the cost of everyone and everything else. It says you are actually like us, process that how you will.

And I think it’s perfect that this decision is being assisted by the Matron. Who better to guide her siblings through acceptance of mortality that her, the goddess of death, the former mortal.

I'm genuinely confused on how someone's coping mechanism or fantasy affects others, when it literally has nothing to do with them. It's not as if they're being held down and subjected to traumatising topics. They have free will, the choice to scroll on and filter out tags.

Like seriously. These people don't even bother explaining themselves or giving a couple points to back up their hatred and anger towards dark fiction writers, it's always, “get raped, asshole.” it's never a proper explanation.

I'm just stuck on how these people are so confident that they have the moral high ground when they can't have a conversation without throwing in a couple of death/rape threats and fuckton of insults. 🥴

This one is New Age filled!!! (Close-ups abd Lore beneath the cut!)

1) Night and Cross!

Night is actually very clingy once he's a teen. He doesn't usually realize it, but around the castle he'll snake to be closer to his Knights so long as there's no one he needs to keep his composure infront of is nearby. Cross is the one who's not used to physical touch (when it's not Ink ofc) so Night in his personal bubble makes his heart melt but also scares tf out of him <3

2) Error and Night's Meeting!

Error was carrying his whole life on his back and trying not to get arrested for unintentional property damage at this point, so when he saw the chance to get back at his brother and prove he was strong enough? Yeah, he got that on chance instantly. And was VERY smug when Nightmare chose him. (Also, Error is wearing gloves, so less Haphephobia)

3) Dream and Blue designs!

I think these are good tentative designs! Dream probably has a more regal fit, but he likes to play up that rugged exile look- He's inspired by Archers, while Blue takes on that classic Knightly-vibe. Their equipment is mostly stolen from Night's troops or brought with them from Blue's home kingdom.

Also, Dream is approx Killer's height at this point, shorter than Cross and *much* shorter than Apple!Nightmare. (Hc that Skeletons tend to be tinier in stature thanks to weird monster beauty standards. Horror and Geno's fam are outliers.)

4) Horror and Dust designs!

Horror is naturally a very *large* monster. He's very malnourished when Nightmare meets him, but by the time he's a Knight Nightmare has made sure that's no longer the case. He actually loves comfy, simple clothes, but to play up the whole 'strong mysterious' bit he wears a more barbaric Knight's garb. He doesn't mind acting scary, it's more fun that way :]. Dust is very very small, and envies horror sometimes for his size, but his tiny stature let's him control his body and move a lot quicker. He's very much based on a rogue, and usually covers the lower part of his face w/ a black cloth, and the upper part w/ his hood or mask. Dust only removes both to bathe, eat, or relax in a safe location. (Ignore that I can't draw the stupid gaster blaster lmao-)

These last two were space-fillers, but Cross and his Borzoi (Windmill, otherwise known as Milly (Killer named her-)) and really bad first wips of Ccino! I think Ccino was a chubby, happy toddler, but lost a lot of 'weight' (bone mass? Magic?) due to stress and pressure and bad eating habits. So it isn't until a while after the Coronation that he starts to relax abd feel safe enough to eat normal meals (Nightmare used to guilt him into eating snacks together, but as his boss (and younger brother) he can encourage it more often). By the time Killer shows he's still not quite healthy, but he's better. As more weight is lifted off his shoulders, the better he is. (That 'beauty' most people saw was a more stereotypical slimness, but Killer never stopped seeing Ccino as beautiful-) I think he never looked traditionally underweight, so no one noticed, and it was only much later that Night processed it. (And maybe it's why Dream hardly recognized him later on-)

My first regret purchase and turning it around!

Warning- this got a little long lol. Doll transformation pics at the end!!

Soo, over a month ago I finally received a doll that I've been waiting for for weeks, but what was supposed to be a happy day turned into dread as I realised that I did not like her. Now, no shade to anyone who has her and loves her! I hope you do, since she deserves it. She's just not for me.

It shouldn't have been that way; I did my research and waited for two weeks before ordering it to make sure it wasn't just an impulse buy. I looked trough all the pictures and I loved them.

It just wasn't meant to be, I guess.

She's been sitting on my desk for over a month. I tried posing her in interesting ways and changing her outfit, but it didn't work. I was scared of personalising and drastically changing her, just in case I decided to resell. But still, nothing worked, and seeing her just filled me with dread and regret. It made me dislike her even more, to the point of not just disappointment over her but actually hating her.

Finally, I decided to talk to my boyfriend about the situation. He doesn't know anything about dolls, but he'll happily listen to me ramble about anything, which is one of the best ways to find solutions (if you don't have a boyfriend, talking to a friend/toy/imaginary person works the same way!). I realised that it was honestly just the doll's head that bothered me. As it happens, I have a doll on the way whose head I could take- I wasn't planning on using it anyway. The neck peg fit, and so I went on to make plans to totally change the doll! The original:

Looking back, she's really not the worst. It was just my regret taking over, but I'm happy I ended up changing her.

Now, for the transformation! I transed the doll hehe^_^ I made this lil edit and fell in love with him instantly. The head is from UfDoll Doremi series. I don't have it yet, but the neck peg fits so I think the head should too. I want him to be a sheep-satyr!

First thing I did was the dye job on his legs. The original white was a little strange to me with the hair tufts. I think the brown gradient looks much nicer, and it makes the hooves so much prettier!

Since I don't have the head yet, the only thing left to do was clothes!

I really like how his outfit came out! I gave him a ring as an anklet and a hair-adornment for his arm. The loincloth is made from an old pair of pants. I made the scarf by sewing a rectangle into a tube and putting a piece of wire inside, so it keeps the shape.

All in all, I'm so happy with him now, he's so much better and I finally love him as he deserves<3
